Granted, that’s probably not the first thing Danny should be saying to the guy that just bit the curb, but in his defense; he’s not running on 100% right now either.

The man -- tall, towering, and broader than Danny is tall -- whips around on his heel, black frayed cape flaring out impressively. Danny would've whistled in appreciation, but he takes the time instead to wipe the back of his hand across his mouth, smearing the blood running from his nose across his cheek.

"Sorry." He blinks widely, not even flinching as the man with the horns zeroes in on him. "That was rude of me. I have a really bad brain-to-mouth filter; Sam says its what always gets me into trouble."

And she's not wrong either, per say. His smart mouth is what landed him in this situation -- with blood blossom extract running through his veins and cannibalizing the ectoplasm in his bloodstream. Thanks Vlad.

The man grunts at him; a short, curt "hm" that shouldn't make Danny smile, but he does because he's somewhat delirious and probably concussed. The man keeps some kind of distance, sinking towards the shadows of Gotham's alleyway like he dares to melt right into it.

If it's supposed to scare Danny, it doesn't work. Danny's never been afraid of the dark; he's always been able to hide himself in it. He blinks slowly at the mass of shadows.

"You look hurt." The shadows says, blurring together around the edges. Danny squints, and licks his lips to get the blood dripping down his chin off. Ugh, he hates the taste of blood.

"I am." He says, "My godfather poisoned me. M'dying." The agony of the blood blossom eating him from the inside out looped back around to numbing a while ago, so all he feels is half-awake and dazed.

"Hey," Danny stumbles forward towards the man, a bloodied hand reaching out to him. "You-- you're a hero, right? You're not attacking me; which is more than I can say for most costumed people I've met." Maybe it's a poor bar to judge someone at, but he's already established that Danny's not in his right mind.

The man makes no change in expression, but Danny realizes blearily that it's hard to tell with the shadows on his face. He stays still long enough for Danny to latch onto the cape -- stretchy, but almost soft under his fingers.

He looks up blearily into the whites of the man's eyes. "Can you help me? I don't-- I don't wanna die." Again. He doesn't wanna die again. He blinks slow and lizard-like. "I mean- I'll probably get to see mom and dad again, but I told them I'd at least try and make it to adulthood."

There's a clatter down the street, and Danny's ghost sense chills up his spine and leaves a bitter, ashy taste in his mouth. He immediately knows who it belongs to even before the deceptively gentle; "Daniel?" echoes down the way.

"Daniel? Quit your games, badger, Gotham is dangerous for children."

Danny's mouth pulls back, and blood spills against his tongue. "Please." He rasps, and grabs onto the shadow's cape with both hands. "Please. He's going to kill me. Please--"

"Daniel? Is that you?"

His lips part, dragging in air to plead with the darkness again. He doesn't need to, the whites of his eyes narrow, and the cape whirls around him before Danny can blink. Soon swaddled in shadows, the Night lifts him up, and steals him away.

The way they implied the line "It's the day I met you." by showing the flashback and the coin stop spinning. Like, "Yes. I dont need to stay here anymore. I have him now." And this whole hand over eyes thing... That day, that hand. The day he met him. That simple gesture saves him. Just by covering his eyes, LWZ protects PS from everything. Even from the demon planted by PCY inside his mind. Oh gosh.... Everything implied in this show especially these last eps 😭😭😭😭

Just discovered one of my favorite fics is discontinuing SO it's time to bust out the old Rules™ again because some people new to fandom might need a reminder:

Authors are not obligated to give you anything.

Do not try to force your ship on an author.

Do not try to force an author to NOT write a ship.

Do not try to force an author to continue a fic series.

Do fucking NOT feed a fic into CGPT or AI unless it's your OWN.

Do not THREATEN an author with putting their fic into an AI script.

Do not copy an author's fic to a different site without their permission. This is considered stealing in every fandom community you come across. Just don't.

Do not INSULT. NOT EVEN JOKINGLY.

Do not BELITTLE. NOT EVEN JOKINGLY.

Do not offer UNSOLICITED writing advice. In other words, unless there's a note or tag that says "criticism welcome", don't offer editorial advice. Typos are a gray area, but unless you know the author personally, err on the safe side and refrain.

You CAN ask for something to be tagged. You can always ask for something to be tagged. If the author isn't an asshole—and you aren't BEING an asshole—they'll tag it for you.

If something about a fic doesn't seem like it's for you—a ship, a writing style, an opinion, a character—it's not. An author is not obligated to make sure you like their fic. If you don't like something in a fic, hit the back button. DON'T go into the comments and explicitly tell the author why you didn't like it or why you're quitting. That's an asshole thing to do.

If the author removes/adds/changes ships mid-fic, they are allowed to do so. You don't have to like it, just don't be a dick about it. Again, the back button is there for a reason.

This is a new one for my list but don't fucking,,,PRETEND a fic is something it's not. "I like this but I read this as platonic" on a ship fic or "They are being SO ROMANTIC" on a gen fic is also an asshole thing to do. Don't push your preferences on others, especially not the author of a fic you're reading. This is a good way to get a spiteful author who will immediately either stop writing or gun it in the opposite direction.

Commenting "Please update", "Is this abandoned?", "I know this is abandoned but—" or any other variations of prodding about how long something is taking will almost always tank an author's drive. They know exactly how long it's taking. Doing this is likely to make your wait even longer, if the author doesn't decide to give up on the story completely. Fic isn't fast food. Chill out. Be patient.

Expressing disgust, anger, annoyance, sadness at the CONTENT OF THE FIC ITSELF is okay. Encouraged, even. Emotions directed towards characters and plotlines is expected and relished. Theories and speculation on what future plot points will be is also okay. Demands about what future plot points should be are not.

Criticism, bashing, or negative ranting about a fic should be relegated to YOUR SPACE. Do not post it in the FANDOM tags, the SHIP tags, or ON TIKTOK. That last one is also new but apparently necessary. You can rant all you like, just don't be a dick. Keep it in your circle.

Most of this lists goes for ANY content creators, authors are just the ones I've seen the most recent problems with. My fellow writers/readers/content creators let me know if I missed something, feel free to add on 👍

Good timezone fellow Durges, Durge Owners and Durgetash enjoyers. I hereby declare; yeah @aleksxo and I are actually gonna do that Bhaalspawn Championship bit, let's go

So, a bit of organisational stuff first:

THIS IS A 18+ EVENT. The game is officially 18+, and so is the community event for it. And well, considering we're throwing a bunch of cannibals into one tiny arena... Do be aware there's gonna be some 'spicy' topics (but no making out on the battlefield, that's what the lockers are for!)

Date: The event will start from August 5th onwards (so, a week after the Gortash week), the Discord Server and the Sign up however will open as soon as this post is published and will end on before then. That way we can set up matches and schedules in time.

Rules: The rulework used will be 5e and for the sake of fun and fair competition, some spells will be banned.

Place: The event will be hosted on a specifically created Discord Community Server and the matches themselves will take place in a VC, meaning; all Participants must be ready to use their voice aka talk while others may listen. Ofc, just spectators are welcome too. Otherwise what's the point of those pretty stages?

OCs: Custom Durges mandatory. No default Durges cuz it's hella immersion breaking. Please give him a moustache and a name if you want to play our fav white dragonboy.

Matchmaking: We aim to keep the Matchmaking as balanced and comfortable as possible, meaning participants of the same region and similar classes will be matched against each other where possible and all OCs will compete with lvl 20 stats, spells, spellslots, feats, yada yada. Depending on the amount of participants we may expand or decrease group sizes (we're literally gonna use Soccer championship rules for ranking).

Inexperienced TTRPG Players: will recieve support! We'll help ya figure stuff out and get ur character to work how u want.

Prizes: OC Art and an OC Oneshot provided to u by your hosts! (Unless...?)

Now for the work part of this thing: we're still headhunting! Specifically people that would like to assist us who are US based (Mods and DMs, cuz we're European and we like sleep actually). If there's any Europeans out here who wanna help tho... We're also looking for support there!
