#Interaction: Anabiel

me vs the unescapable chasm of school and work.... my bitchass boss threw a fit about me being unable to work weekends through december and then STILL has me working weekdays near-exclusively. anyways can you gimme the latest updates on wormwood? i need long idiot man in order to live.

Not much of plot relevance, just some fun tidbits:

1.) Connor and I have decided that he's absolutely horrible at flying due to his massive tail. Just horrendous, homeboy is crashing into telephone poles completely sober. He prefers walking.

2.) He has the ugliest, loudest, honking laugh ever and I absolutely adore it. Thank the peacock influence once again, homeboy looks so elegant but if you interact with him for more than three seconds you realize how much of a disaster this guy is.

3.) His relationship with Anabiel is much more tempestuous. Anabiel doesn't appreciate being used as a rehab center instead of a friend, especially when her advice is tossed out the window the instant Asmodeus comes back into Wormwood's life. Wormwood doesn't realize how he treats her, but he feels her resentment and this is less willing to interact with her outside of necessity, thus feeding the cycle. They have a lot of love for each other, but they really don't like each other at the beginning of the story.

4.) Peacock's Kiss (drug created for this universe) has been developed a bit more!! A hallucinogenic and mood-enhancer, any emotion you're feeling when you take this bad boy will be dialed up to 100, so you better make sure you're feeling good because otherwise you're in for a rough ride. It's why it's used so much at parties, to enhance the feelings of euphoria, and why it's such a gamble for Wormwood to use it, because Wormie is not the most emotionally stable individual lmao.

5.) Asmodeus has more backstory now and somehow that makes him even worse.✨I understand why he is the way he is and I despise him for it✨ He could've become sympathetic and a better person but NO he just HAD to become a manipulative insecure dickwad and use his tragic backstory as an excuse for his horrid personality💖

Alright, crisis averted. However, the next time an angel decides to violate the treaty they are going to have to write it out, by hand, in fifty different languages. Maybe then it will finally sink in. -for Michael from Anabiel (faithsreward)

@cosmicxxxlight Hardly blinks, sighs.   Not even surprised  it's not the first time this has happened.   Deeply sighs and approaches Anabiel straight away  they aren't smiling, no look upon their face -- ominous.    Black as night wings spread out.  Eerie silence between them tight tension than finally says. "It isn't your place to get involved in things like this.  No harm done.  Do not try this again." 

“Michael, it is literally my place. I wrote those treaties, I know the exact consequence of breaking them, and I know exactly what plans had been interrupted by the ceasefire. Plans on both sides, ones that would have ended in blood.”

Yet unlike most of her siblings Anabiel did not bother with any attempts at intimidation, wings hidden and not even a trace of hostility in her body language. Her voice was one of reason, and few would argue with that fact.

“You may be in command, but I was given my position in order to prevent war from breaking out again. The fact that it has not means that I am good at my job, but despite that I would rather not spend more time than I have to putting out fires after subordinates decide to go frolicking about in contested territory.”

I imagine in the immortals au, Al shows up to people trying to make deals with demons and talks them out of it, while Ed goes around passing out copies of “a song from the perspective of god” by bo burnham to religious leaders

I mean something important to remember in immortals is that Ed and Al aren’t Actually an angel and demon respectively, it’s 100% just appearances that give people those misconceptions :P 

That said al just sort of showing up on internet forums of people trying to contact demons or something and politely messaging that that’s probably a Bad Idea would be pretty fucking funny, and while ed Probably wouldn’t try to fight Too many religious leaders i also wouldn’t put it past him haha. Man if ed is still an atheist in this Au that’s somehow even funnier than it is in canon - he just fucking Ignores it whenever his godly parent reaches out, just doesn’t pick up the phone, looks the other way

"Is your unique skill going to be killing your siblings Revali?" Of course she hadn't been looking, she had been keeping track of Bedazel, who had been wandering over towards the targets. And of course the moment Revali loosed the arrow their sibling had caught sight of a shiny thing, breaking into a sprint.

"BEDAZEL STOP." The Seraphic command ripped through the air, stopping the young child in their tracks just as an arrow whizzed past their face. "BEDAZEL COME." That command brought the child trotting over, and Ana quickly tied a rope onto the harness they were wearing before ordering the child to return to their siblings.

"Revali, you need to be more careful. I understand that you want to be a warrior, but not all of your siblings will be, they are not all like you. Some require more observation, and while I would love to admire your talent I can not do that constantly."

Tell us a little about yourself!

Hi, I’m Buttie, and you may or may not know me! I like reading SaM and for a while, I regularly graced the fandom with silly doodles and humor. I’m a 21 year old German, I love pigeons, and welcome to my crib.

When did you get into the fandom and how did you stumble upon it?

I found the comic through the original post and started reading it fairly early on (the fact that I can’t remember the exact update it was on at the time for memories sake is my biggest regret to date). After looking through the entire tag, I was a buttman obsessed, and started watch the streams also -- Run was one of my first ones, but I’d seen a handful before it. However, I never talked in streams, and didn’t join the fandom at all until August 2015. When I made my blog (with a placeholder URL that ended up sticking) is when I fell fast and hard, and ended up getting really involved with the fandom. The ‘final’ stream had passed by the time I’d started socializing, so I was pretty upset, but I’ve gotten to attend a lot of streams since then!

Who are your favorite characters/pairings? I’m not big on shipping and vaguely dislike romantic ships -- platonic’s where it’s at. That said, I do appreciate ChamZoe, I’ve got an interest in Kristi/Laila and Anabiel/Jophiel/Metatron and I’m 100% weak for Pailix. The latter’s honestly the only ship I’d say I have, but I guess poly-ships in general are how to get me.

Characters are hard, cause I love all of them. Right now I’d say it’s Michael, Uriel, Pax, maybe Raguel and I loved every moment we had Jericho in the story. Sheipos. (Especially Sheila though.) And that one silver-haired background angel.

Favorite moment in the comic?

My favorite moment is [redacted for spoilers], [redacted for more spoilers] and every time there’s a good shot of Michael (or generally visually pleasing angel stuff -- the bottom line is, art will always trump plot for me).

What is your biggest inspiration as far as your art/writing goes?

I wish I knew how to answer this question, but I really don’t; it doesn’t help that I’m completely lacking inspiration right now. I think usually when I produce something, it’s based on a spur-of-the-moment idea or joke... so maybe it’s the fact that you can take a joke or a concept and take it further, through art? I was in a big art slump before joining the Samily™, and I wouldn’t have started drawing again without outside input. When I made a bunch of humorous, doodly comics, it was kind of like making art with people -- always through interacting, part of a conversation, etc. and that gives you a lot of energy. Also notes. Everybody loves notes. Mhmm.

What would you say is your favorite piece that you’ve done so far?

the real favorite piece is the friends we’ve made along the way

(This is a very tough question, especially since most of my SaM work hasn’t been serious. I’m settling on this comic, because it never fails to make me laugh, and these are what people know me for. However, my magical girl designs are a close second!)

What would you say is one of your favorite things to draw/write? For drawing I guess I enjoy drawing hair, fabric and flowy things a lot; angels, as well as just designing outfits or color-mapping things. With a solid sketch, line-arting is one of my favorite things. Oh, and people facing left at a slight angle, that’s a good one. Also, when I’m doodling traditionally I somehow always end up drawing Gabe! The nose has me hooked (ha ha).

I don’t write a lot, but I used to love discussing meta with people and it was great. I love just putting down my thoughts, rambling, theorizing, and using 27 different adjectives to describe the same thing in a weird mix of poetry and prose. I’m a huge sucker for concepts and thoughts, and can’t do plot.

What do you think influences your art/writing style?

I don’t really have a good answer for this one. I guess I get inspired by cartoons and animation a lot when it comes to style, but I also just really liking at art, so it just all comes together. I definitely  don’t try to do anything specific. No way for me to not mention Orange here though, because I’m sure I’ve learnt more from watching her draw than I can think of. The best way to describe it is that I’ve seen her drawn some things -- like profiles, for example -- and gone ‘oh’, because it just clicked, and suddenly made sense to me.

What are some of your hobbies you enjoy? I like singing, daydreaming, taking walks and generally being outside. And looking at pretty things, which sounds silly, but is super fulfilling.

Before joining SaM, what was a fandom you were part of and are there any fandoms you’re into outside of SaM? I’d stopped being active in fandoms for quite a while before SaM. While I’m a fan of a lot of things, I was always passive and never contributed... before SaM. Things I enjoyed were the unmentionables of Sherlock, SPN and Marvel when they were big, Homestuck, Madoka and maybe other webcomics. I feel like there’s more, those don’t feel like my main fandoms at all, but I can’t think of anything else. It’s all a blur, really, who remembers life before SaM?

Is there anything else you’d like the fandom to know about you or anything you’d like to say to the fandom as a whole? I didn’t wanna make it my favorite piece, but please read Cockoa Latte (NSFW). It’s a work of art. Also, I had nothing to do with Butts before SaM. Nothing. Now they’re my entire identity, proving how damn powerful these people are. What I’m saying is, choose your name wisely.

P.S. I love you guys (even if I don’t know most of you) and I really need to start checking in on the tag again. This fandom will always be special to me. Keep producing all the lovely content you do! ♥

She had watched Micheal train tirelessly, seeming to do anything he could to stop themselves from questioning everything about what had happened. But physical activity sometimes allowed one the time to think, and at this point the Archangel was spending far too much time doing that.

"Come, sit. I need a partner for Go, and everyone else has other duties to attend to. Besides, you have been training your body a great deal, perhaps you should spend some time on your mind.”

It felt like playing chess against a two year old. Not where both sides had all the proper bits, but where one was equipped with only a handful of tarot cards, three pennies, and a fuzzy worm on a string. None of the pieces fit where they should, and some of the parties involved seemed insistent on shoving things so far up orifices that they needed to be removed by a professional. Rooks up noses, feet in mouths, heads up asses, it seemed the same in that moment, and right now all she wanted was to be left alone…or to speak with someone sensible, someone who didn’t think this whole apocalypse shtick would be a grand ol’ time.

The temptation to resort to planning things out on a slate was rising, as was the amount of marijuana in her incense-burner. Cross-legged on the floor, with eyes closed and hands moving as if shuffling imaginary magnets across a fridge the angel seemed detached from reality. Unfortunately for everyone involved she was quite grounded in the current situation, that situation being the end of the universe as they knew it.

None had dared enter her smoke-filled chamber, especially not since the scent had changed from lavender to cannabis. It was just as it had been when she had been drafting the original treaties between Heaven and Hell, and her frustration was likely just as severe.

The sound of her door shifting was not enough to make her open her eyes, though she did shut off all communication with her sources, slamming up barriers to prevent anything from so much as brushing against her mind. Best not let her current plans be even suspected, not with war having been declared and so many seeming elated with the prospect of the final apocalypse.

“No, I do not have any information beyond what the quartermaster has. No I will not be sending Minael out to attempt to assassinate Hell’s generals, and no, I do not have time to solve whatever petty quarrel you have going on. Use your own brain, think for yourself, and stop picking fights.”

Not that she had taken the time to identify who it was, only someone with very pressing business would disturb her while she was like this, or someone who thought what was happening in their life needed her attention. Either way she wanted none of it, not when she was trying to figure out exactly how to force this situation into something that wasn’t going to be a complete disaster.

Anabiel was not one who usually asked for favours, especially not recently given how tense things had been. She needed every single bit of leverage that she could manage, and that meant that she made sure that other angels owed her, not the other way around.

This was a special case though, and she felt it was needed, especially given the number of skirmishes that had been going on. If she did not have a job that was not simply assisting where needed it was only a matter of time before the young angel would be called upon to battle, and from prior experience Anabiel knew that would not end well.

That was what brought her to the other’s office, and the politician knocks to ensure that she was not interrupting anything. “Raziel, might I have a word?”

Anabiel had been perfectly aware of the situation involving her sister’s ward, and though it was not something that those she pretended to answer to would like it still seemed the best plan.

After all there were certain things Phel was good at, and given her track record with those little abominations of hers hiding people was obviously one of them. As well there was that child of hers, an unconventional bodyguard, but surprisingly effective.

What better way to keep the emerald’s identity from being revealed to any of Lucifer’s potential spies up in Heaven than to hide her with the best of her own.

It had been a while since she had seen the girl, and now that she set eyes on her again the angel could feel her heart sink just a little, though she kept a smile on her face. It would do no good to mention how much the young woman’s face resembled that of her lost brother, no good at all.

“Lucia, lovely to see you again. Do you remember me?”
