The Final Chapter

Parrot finally finds out the Director's identity however, it may be a little bit more than he initially bargained for. It would be hard to create such a big narrative so quickly with only one author after all! (KWW Director Reveal Fic...)

The sun had risen and set again since the Director first appeared. Leo and Derap were dead, they had been shot in just the same way as Nufuli‬ had been not a day before. He had made the grave mistake of running ahead and leaving them within range of the railgun and the director had somehow fired it again.

The Director had captured him, stripped him of all his items, and thrown him into some sort of prison cell.

He had inspected the cell, there wasn’t much preventing escape save for the guards outside of it. It was nothing like any of the well-designed prisons of the server, there was nothing but the chains that bound him to the wall and the cramped obsidian room. It seemed like nothing more than a holding cell.

Escaping however was practically out of the question, it would be downright easy after his experience in Proton but he needed to know who the Director really was. 

There was nothing to do now but wait.

Parrot wasn’t sure how long had passed before the guards opened the doors and hauled him out. Wherever they were keeping him was relatively large as he had been dragged through several massive halls. They were a bit reminiscent of the halls of BAT headquarters however here they were completely barren.

After a few more empty hallways and staircases Parrot was dragged into what seemed to be a conference room. The guards tied him down to a chair facing away from the door and left him there.

The room was a bit bigger than his cell but not substantially more. There was a pretty big table with chairs around it, one of which he was stuck in. The rooms was made from the blackstone and was only broken by large windows that were obscured by massive sheets of snow. Glancing upward he noticed the ceiling was made of a mixture of grey and purple glazed terracotta.

Soon enough he heard the door creep open and three people walk in. He hoped one of them was the Director but it was impossible to tell who based on footsteps alone. Someone was wearing dress shoes that made a loud regular clacking as their owner walked and someone else was wearing what sounded like some sort of more practical boot. He could barely hear the third person they were walking lightly, barely making a sound with a quick bouncy gait.

Two of the footsteps stopped just out of view of him but the person wearing boots kept walking and the Director soon came into view and wandered over to the opposite end of the table from him and sat down.

Before Parrot had time to question them, the steady clicking of dress shoes filled the room and a second invisible figure in identical armor walked to the right side of the table.

There wasn’t any time for the him to process that there may have been more than one director before the third person also in the Director’s armor detored over to him and grabbed his face. Parrot could feel claws digging into his skin and blood pricking up to the surface as the invisible person inspected his face for an uncomfortable moment before dropping it and continuing to the left of the table as the Director to Parrots right coughed into their hand.

Parrot was still in shock when he finally found the words to speak, “What- there’s more than one of you?

The Director on the right spoke, “It takes more than one architect to craft a good story”

Parrot was getting slightly frustrated at the lack of clear answers, “Why did you kill Wifies?”

“That Wifies had to die.” the left one replied

“And the others, bro they were my friends!”

The director in front of him rose, “They stopped serving their purposes, they had to be written out” 

“Bro stop being so vague and give real answers for once!”

the left one began moving to sit on the frame of their chair, “What's the fun in that -” 

  “- when you will know everything in time” The right Director continued in perfect stride after the left Director  

The one across the table walked directly in front of Parrot in the thin gap between the table and his chair. They sat down directly in front of him on the table and bent down slightly so they could look into his eyes while still looming over him. Parrot looked away.

The Director pulled his spyglass from their inventory and hooked the eyepiece under his chin with a gentleness the other hadn’t shown. He guided Parrot’s head up to gaze into the empty chasium where his face should have been.

“Who are you?” Parrot whispered

The Director's voice changer sparked to life as they spoke with a familiar affectionate tone, “I think you already know.”

Parrot had a guess but he really did not want to be correct. 

The particles of invisibility started to stutter and stagger around the director and the invisibility fell away, leaving Parrot staring into a very familiar pair of purple tinged brown eyes.

Parrot was yet again completely lost for words, his faithful ally and one of his oldest friends. Who he had seen die.“w- Wifies?”

Wifies didn’t respond but he smiled. Not in the same way Parrot remembered, this one seemed slightly more cruel. He withdrew the spyglass, sending it back into the void of his inventory, and replaced where it had rested against Parrot's face with his hand, wiping some of the tears Parrot had begun to sheed.

Parrot glanced around the rest of the table to see the other two Directors, “Ken? Wato? What’s going on?”

“This Universe is dying, It needs a suitable ending.” Wato said in his normal voice.

“We also needed a field test!” Ken called

Parrot was beyond confused, “A field test?”

Wifies slid away from him and further up on the table, “For my memory transfers.”

i think the reason i find interactive introverts so interesting is because they wanted to say so much with it that they end up adressing in terrible influence. in interactive introverts they seem to really want to talk about the relationship they have with their auidence and how the nature of a parasocial relationship can be harmful. this seems to be a point they are so desperate to make but also feel the pressure to entertain and give the audience a good time, thus inadvertently proving their point. In a lot of ways interactive introverts is a specatcle, dnp cutting themselves open for the audience and saying is this entertaining? are you entertained yet?! the simulation scene at the start of the show is the appetiser for all that there is to come, and the start of a reoccuring theme. that this action will have consequences

in the simulation scene, the audience puppet around an ai dan and phil who act as they would and still feel the real pain and embarassment the real dan and phil would. dan and phil watch this unfold with a growing worry as the audience seem to pick all of the options that cause them suffering and for some reason take delight in it! this causes them to think about a question, how far are we willing to take this? now the wheel scene comes around and theyre curious about how bloodthirsty their audience could possibly be, so they ask and sit in horror as their audience seems to yet again take this with great excitement. dan watches in horror as this goes on and he's scared, she start pleading, begging to the audience, i'm a person too!! , as they sit there completely helpless to what's happening. this is where the audience experiences some slight trepidation, the words this is your fault and your actions have consequences hard to take lightly or brush off.

now the finale comes and there is nothing anyone can do but watch as the two finally understand that their pain is just a price to pay for others enjoyment and the audience can do nothing but helplessley watch as the two both painfully answer questions wrong. and theres nothing they can do now, dan and phil have been told this is what they wanted, is this not what you wanted? theres no going back now, we told you this would have consequences, its not our fault if you weren't listening. so they have to just sit and watch as dnp both keep smiling, pretending not to flinch from the pain.

they play themsleves off the stage, with the same sort of promise, no matter the pain we will give you what you want, but there seems to be something different in the air, because what the audience doesn't know, is that this is a goodbye.

in a lot of ways interactive introverts is a tragedy of two boys who were burned by the very fire that gave them life (insert dinof joke) and the danger of idolism and celebrity culture. but it is also the light at the end of the tunnel for them, especially dan who can put this all behind him and know she doesn't have to grit a smile anymore and finally gets to rest.

the thing that really gets to me that they talk about in terrible influence is, despite all of this, they still decided to come back! the songs in the preshow playlists about toxic relationships are painfully accurate, and the show itself questions if there is such a thing as a healthy creator audience relationship. the show does not answer this question but holds the sentiment that despite all of this, despite all the bad, they want to make it work, but this time on their own terms and thats beautiful to me.

Writing Introverts

Introvert - a person who is reserved, reflective, and prefers minimal social situations.

Unlike extroverts who prefer networking and socializing, intense social interactions may leave introverts feeling drained and needing to recharge their energy with ample alone time.

However, introverts don’t necessarily lack social skills, they just prefer alone or socializing in small groups.

Introversion is a personality type introduced by noted Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, who theorized that people could be divided into groups based on their distinct attitudes.

These attitudes include introversion and extroversion (which refers to a preference for external stimuli).

Jung believed that while both of these attitudes are present in every individual, one type is generally more dominant.

Characteristics of an Introvert

Reserved: Introverts don’t like to be the center of attention and may not be as willing to make new friends or break the ice in large groups, social gatherings, or networking opportunities. However, a common misconception is that an introverted personality is always shy and quiet. Some introverts are more talkative and energetic when they are passionate about something specific, engaged in an activity they love or surrounded by people they know.

Introspective: Introverted personalities tend to spend more time with their own thoughts, which means they tend to think more before speaking. Introverts are often described as more thoughtful or focused than extroverts. This personality type prefers to think and prepare before they act, making them efficient planners.

Solitary: Time alone and away from social settings is necessary for introverts. Social activities can be draining for many introverts, and they may require time to recharge after social events. This solitary time away from the outside world is beneficial to an introvert’s mental health and well-being.

Selective: An introvert may enjoy spending time alone in their inner world, but that doesn’t mean they are loners, antisocial, or lack a social circle. On the contrary, an introvert prefers a smaller circle of close friends, leading to more quality and meaningful relationships.

Patient: Introverts are thoughtful decision-makers that are not driven by impulse. They often take their time when faced with a decision to ensure the best result. In sales, this personality type prefers to take their time to strategize and find the best way to appeal to a potential customer.

Are Introverts Shy? Introversion and shyness can overlap for some personalities, but these qualities are distinct. Introverts and shy people avoid being the center of attention and might experience social anxiety. Generally, introverted people can start conversations, make small talk, and navigate social interactions more readily than shy people, especially with small groups. Introversion describes people who prefer higher levels of internal to external stimulation. Alone time is energizing for introverts, but they can still exhibit agreeableness and social skills in social settings.

Just a small drabble. Kenma has a high maintenance girlfriend and has no idea (read: he doesn't care and thinks you're way too amazing for him). Song below makes me think of the dynamic

Warnings: Kenma x Fem!Reader, she/her pronouns used for reader, you're into your appearance and typical "feminine" things (by heteronormative standards) in this one, you are just mentioned in this, not actually in it. it's more of a conversation between kenma and kuroo, sorry. really short, i could expand the concept into a fic in the future.

Kuroo looks over Kenma's shoulder to see what's distracting him from Kuroo's riveting story of his last business trip and is surprised to see Kenma confirming an online order. "Buying a new game?" Kuroo asks with a grin.

Kenma rolls his eyes and leans away from him in response. "No. I ordered a new bag for ____ ." His tone suggests it's nothing out of the ordinary, and it isn't, but it still causes Kuroo to raise an eyebrow.

"She's kinda high maintenance, huh?" Kuroo comments his thoughts out loud.

Kenma scrunches his face up as he looks at Kuroo like he's stupid. "No."

Kuroo pauses for a moment and just blinks because Kenma is not naive or oblivious. In fact, he's able to read people almost freakishly well because of his anxious obsession of staying a head of people so they can't catch him off guard and humiliate him or something. There is no way Kenma is oblivious to your tendencies. "You're buying her another handbag..." Kuroo says slowly.

Kenma grunts in response and looks back at his phone. "A tote bag," He mutters the correction. "And I'm buying her it because she carries so much shit in her bag it hurts her shoulders. This is supposed to be internally padded without it being noticeable."

"And...you don't think that's...high maintenance?" Kuroo inquires as if speaking to a child.

Kenma huffs in annoyance and looks up at Kuroo again. "No. She's easier to please than my cat."

Now Kuroo is seriously confused. "What?"

Kenma looks at him like he's stupid again. Kuroo feels like he's on the outside of some inside joke. "I bought her a year's worth of nail sets for valentine's day and she was skipping places for the next week," Kenma tells him bluntly. "She's so easy to please, it's ridiculous."

Kuroo looks at him in bewilderment. "Kenma, she gets a new nail set every month and she hardly ever wears the same outfit twice. She gets embarrassed if someone sees her when she's not fully done up."

Kenma purses his lips. "Yeah. She likes when people admire her," He tells Kuroo as if it's obvious. Kuroo is genuinely so lost right now. "That's not high maintenance, it's easy to understand. If she was super complicated to read and clingy, and nothing pleased her then she'd be high maintenance. She's not any of that."

Huh, Kuroo never really thought about it like that, but he supposes it makes sense for a guy like Kenma. He likes things straightforward and he appreciates people who understand him and his need for solitude. You're straightforward in what you want, you don't expect Kenma to make himself uncomfortable to please you by demanding he takes you places or anything, and you're fine to give him alone time since you like alone time too. Kuroo supposes you being a little materialistic and into your appearance doesn't bother Kenma since it's simple and he seems to be able to understand it, which is all he cares about.

And, now that Kuroo thinks about it, it's not like you ask for Kenma to do any of the things he does. You were into fashion and being done up long before you met Kenma, to the point that Kenma didn't believe you were into him for a while because you seemed so out of his league. It's not like you sought Kenma out because you wanted a guy to pay for your nails. Ever since Kuroo has met you you've had a new nail set every month, happily showing it off. Now, Kenma pays for it though, and he almost looks as happy as you do when you show off your new set to him. Maybe that's what Kenma meant. You are pretty easy to please in that regard and maybe Kenma likes pleasing you, and seeing remnants of it whenever you wear something he bought you or have a new hair style he payed for. Kenma isn't good with words, but he's decent with actions. Maybe he likes that he can please you so easily with actions.

Kuroo smiles at his friend and chuckles to himself. "Well, whatever you say, Kynma. She's your girl."

Kenma scrunches up his nose and turns back to his phone. "Don't call me that."

You could make a really cool cottagecore fantasy novel using the structure of Little House in the Big Woods. Where the main characters live in a stable environment and go about their daily lives dealing with the domestic details of the world, but they meet characters who have gone on adventures. So a huge chunk of the book is made up of the stories that these characters tell. The main characters would face very little peril, but you'd still have a book full of thrilling stories.

I'd try for a middle-grade fantasy. Center it on a group of siblings whose parents went on save-the-world adventures, but have settled down to raise a family. Maybe they run an inn that caters to people from a ton of the nations and races of this fantasy world. Or maybe they're just frequently visited by old adventuring companions who always have cool stories to share about the adventures they've been on or the events or history of their homeland.

Maybe I'm not introverted, maybe I want community, gossiping over a glass of wine, coffee shop dates, dying in some club's dirty bathroom, knowing half a city and saying hello to my favourite restaurant waiter; maybe I got too badly burned too young, just got too scared, settled for living in numbing comfort
