Tokyo as a whole is just so full of people -- Ren and Arsene take to the train tracks again, but now that they're past the danger-zone of random flash-floods, everywhere they look, there's people: little communities living side by side, some turning into larger settlements, some forming loose alliances with each other. It's fascinating, to see how many survivors there are just wandering between wards and districts as well, when Ren's been counting them in the single digits for most of their travels before they reached some invisible-seeming border near Shizuoka, and the population started to pick up again.
Ren thinks that the number of people could easily reach Nagoya's settlement, or whatever numbers Tsu-Aki has now, and they're just barely halfway-through Bunkyo. It seems to be a fine line they're walking, between being large groups of the living and large groups of the mutated. The landscape of Tokyo is both familiar and not, many of the buildings broken apart or overrun by nature, green flashing between all of the urban areas, sometimes making Ren gag with the phantom-memory of Takuto. They'd started their journey at dawn with hope in their hearts, and by the time they finally spied the Sunshine 60 skyscraper from Toshima station, it's past noon and Ren's got his gun drawn because around every corner, the meandering footfalls of infected can be heard. They grabbed a pamphlet with information about their goal before continuing onwards, Arsene leafing through it between calmer moments.
It's as nerve-wracking as his days near Osaka had been, where the dead had outnumbered the living by too much to count, and both he and Arsene are tense, this close to their goal. They take out large clusters of mutated on their path, until they start reaching barricades and stakes that are clearly man-made. Ren eyes them suspiciously, noticing the faint agi spells that made the fires flicker on some of them, and carefully walks past them with Arsene, more alert for area-of-effect spells now. Not even the angels had warded their settlement like this...
Though, it is possible that we've simply missed the wards due to how quickly we were noticed. These support spells stretch much further.
Mh. Ren agrees, nimbly stepping around debris that seemed to be placed there on purpose. They're quickly approaching the skyscraper, dodging around around lingering spells and obstacles as if they were in a palace, and it doesn't take them that much longer before they arrive around a corner after which seems to be a stone wall, revealing itself as molten rock and metal fused together, with chicken wire secured on top, about twice as high as Ren. Spikes out of wood and metal both are placed before the wall, and there's a few spaces that might be lookout posts, and Ren has to take a step back to take in the whole structure that turned Sunshine City into a palace.
"...god," Ren exhales, suddenly and inexplicably longing for their little hotel room back in Nagatsugawa. The grip on his handgun tightens, and they glance at each other.
A white flag might just be a good idea, Arsene surmises, glancing down at himself; he's threatening-looking on the best of days, and today's not one of those. "Maybe." Ren agrees. "We have some leftover bandages, right?"
"Oui," Arsene murmurs, quickly magicking them out of one of their shoulder-bags, before he frowns and glances around for something stick-like. They find something that looks like a discarded arrow, quickly turning it into a makeshift flag, before Arsene sticks it out as far around the corner as he can. When nothing fires at it, they carefully step around as well, walking over to one of the little lookouts while constantly waving the bandages. Ren tries calling out, not too loudly, and then--
a head pops out of the lookout, pale lilac hair and a red eye the only thing Ren can make out. "Hello!" The stranger calls out, a shotgun dangling between her fingers as she leans further forward. That's as clear a warning as Ren's ever seen. Arsene frowns, next to him. "Are you guys friendly?"

"Yeah!" Ren calls back. "We're looking for-- Futaba Sakura! We're family! Is she with you?"
She blinks, clearly taken aback, before eyeing them over anew. "...right. What're your names, and more importantly: are you wounded?"
"Amamiya Ren and Arsene Lupin, and we art not! Only superficial scratches!"
She eyes them over, frowning, and Ren knows they look a sight. "...are you a shadow or a persona? And my name's -Erina, by the way," Erina introduced herself, pausing oddly over her name.
"A persona!" Arsene calls back, and Erina's shoulders slump in relief. She tells them that they have follow the barricade around the next corner where one of the entrances is located and they do after her hair disappears from the lookout. Once by the door, they're led through what seems to be a repurposed container unit with multiple windows. A voice tells them to "Wait there!" Some kind of shadow going by Arsene's bristling feathers, and then Erina slips into the room. She's wearing something that looks like it might be a cosplay military coat, fingerless gloves, a red skirt and combat boots rounding out her outfit, looking every inch a fighter. She's smiling at them, thinly.
"Let the mu shuwuu and fuu-ki run a diagnostic and seal your skills for now," she says, and Ren tenses up because that would leave them effectively defenseless.
"Thou've had bad experiences in the past?" Arsene asks, the faint green glow of a navigator-type spell falling over him (and Ren, to a lesser extent). It makes all of the wounds that Arsene's sustained more visible for a blinding moment.
"You could say that," Erina says, dryly. She shifts around, and Ren notices that the eye he assumed hidden by her hair simply... wasn't. "A woman, her child and a barong had arrived a few weeks ago; they claimed to only be 'scratched' and we let them in--"
(Ren flinches.)
"-- needless to say, we lost three people and a shadow that day; one of our best nurses at that." Erina finishes.
He doesn't object to them sealing their abilities anymore.
Once that's over and done with, they're allowed out of the container and into the Sunshine City proper: three skyscrapers with ---
Ren barely has any time to inspect everything, though, because a familiar presence settles at the back of his mind, a soft "Welcome back, leader-unit," echoing through Arsene and him before someone tackles him. Instincts snap into place, and Ren hugs back Futaba even while she's burrowing into his neck with a hiccoughing cry of "Ren!"
"Oh," Ren says, overwhelmed, before he blinks back tears and starts to buckle, strength suddenly leaving him. Necronomicon's tentacles curl around his middle and soften his fall into a controlled sink to the ground-- right, that was Necronomicon's voice earlier--
Arsene's moving towards other approaching figures, four of them, out-of-focus to his blurry vision but distinctly familiar, and they're surrounding the persona and touching him before they double in numbers, and Ren's awash with the phantom-feeling of the hugs of his team while everyone somehow starts piling around him and Arsene.
He's crying now, earnest, a tension leaving him that's been with him ever since the whole world went up in flames, and he hugs Futaba back even fiercer and squeezes his eyes shut when he feels Ryuji's hands on his shoulder and Haru's comforting weight at his back. "...we're back," Ren murmurs, amazed.
"You-- you made it-!" Futaba wails. "I can't believe you, you reckless idiot--"
"Yeah," Ren says, softly. He gets tugged to the side and against Yusuke, and now Makoto's hand is on his shoulder, and Futaba's not let go of him. Ren is buoyed in joy, happy, when he catches a snippet of conversation from the persona, still keyed into their broadband:

She'sgo ne, mate. Sacri ficedhe rs elf.

Its flavor is distinctly alien because Necronomicon isn't filtering their conversation properly, having forgotten that it had greeted Ren earlier, the mental 'language' much more melodious than one would assume. Ren's used to it after a whole year of thieving, though, and he freezes up, softly detangling himself from Futaba.
"...where's Ann?" He asks, grief already settling into his bones.
The others are silent for a heart-rending moment. "Dead," Makoto says, eyes squeezed shut as if in pain. Ren stares at her in disbelief. "Before-- before we had the barricades... in the beginning. A big group of survivors..." She trails off. Yusuke picks up:
"If it weren't for Panther, myself and twenty-one people would be dead. Carmen erected a wall of flames that burned for hours, both of them on the other side of the conflict." He takes a rattling breath. "...in the end, they burned themselves out, along with over fifty infected. She always believed you would reach us in the end." Yusuke finishes with, and Ren stares, ears ringing, a hand coming up to his collar unconsciously as he looks over to Arsene, whose own grief is trailing down in golden streaks over his mask. Goemon and Kidd have their eyes averted, while Milady is still, and even Necronomicon's dropped lower.
"Oh," Ren says, at a loss for words. Haru sees where he's touching, but even before she can say anything, Ren nods. "Morgana, too. He... his body was so small. It couldn't fight the fever. I-- held him, and then we buried him, and--" Grief chokes up his words. "My parents didn't even-- they didn't even make it out of our hometown, and. And-- I didn't know if we could make it, but sometimes. It was the only thing keeping me going, and I--" he stops, unable to continue as they hug him tighter, the persona also coming closer to the pile, and Ren lets his grief and terror over the past half-year wash over him, tries to forget that a year ago at roughly this time he'd been spending his last few months in Tokyo before leaving for Hasetsu, his friends having just gotten him out of juvie.
"You're-- here now," Futaba says, voice teary. "We're here, you're here, we're all-- all together now, so everything's going to be-- okay. Just you see, Joker, everything's gonna be okay."

Please tell me about your P5 headcanons and your shauake AU im begging. Infodump Everything
Hi, thanks for asking! Well, here's the barebones of the AU:
It's a Shuake-centric AU named Fireflies In A Jar. It's essentially a "Akechi heals" AU. It's a mix of the vanilla storyline and Royal storyline.
Essentially, Akira decides to stay in Tokyo after defeating Maruki. He mainly stayed for the Thieves....and Akechi.
See, because the Akechi he saw in Maruki's reality was the real Akechi. He survived. And he wanted to run away from society....from Akira.
Akira (bless him) tries to help Akechi heal properly from Shido's abuse. So the rest of the Phantom Thieves assist as well, but from a distance.
I don't really have headcanons for this AU, but I do have one headcanon for P5 that I hold near to my heart. My hc is that the Metaverse actually affects the PTs in reality, either obviously or subtlety. Like:
Akira laughs like Arsene. On some occasions, he even gains Arsene's wings.
Ryuji sees a pirate ship fly near his home at nights.
Ann sometimes acts like a cat. She likes to scratch Ryuji like A LOT.
Yusuke can withstand the cold (get it cuz goemon has the ice element-)
Morgana's initials are M.Z. The Z shouldn't be there, but he can't help it.
Makoto owns a motorcycle. She takes Haru and Ann for rides. She also picks up Sae from work.
Haru has her PT weapon hidden in her closet somewhere. She jokingly threatens to bring it along with her when one of her friends had their bad day caused by someone.
Since Futaba is the oracle of the group, she knows certain things beforehand. For example, when she's going to type anything on her computer, she already knows what she's going to type.
Akechi can deliberately turn himself psychotic (see; the shuake showtime), and of course he uses it to scare the Thieves. Someone accidentally stepped on his shoe? His face twitches and his eyes glow a terrifying blood red. Then he laughs and say that he's joking- just don't fucking do it again.
Sumire found glass slippers at her doorstep. She keeps them in a box so they don't break.

Love seeing what stats you get from reading each of the books about your teammates’ Personas because I like to think it gives you a little more insight into what they’re strong in and what their awakening helped them improve:
Arsène- Knowledge (Joker’s awakening was about him deciding to take action, which he does mostly by gathering information and learning various new skills and maximizing his advantages)
Captain Kidd- Guts (Ryuji’s is pretty straightforward; he just decided to be less apologetic about who he is and take risks to help others)
Zorro- Kindness (we don’t see Morgana’s awakening, which makes me kind of sad tbh, but we do know he is very much about acting the gentleman, and his arc has a lot to do with letting go of his insecurities related to his very pragmatic way of viewing relationships and opening himself up to being a true part of a team and a family)
Carmen- Charm (again, very straightforward. Ann takes back her beauty and sexuality and uses it to inspire others and find her own strength)
Goemon- Guts (Yusuke had averted his eyes from the truth for so long because of his precarious situation and because it hurt him. his choice to stand up to Madarame took a tremendous amount of courage, as does his ability to keep forging onwards through his doubts about his art)
Johanna- Kindness (Makoto is all about coming out of her role as model student and attempting to learn how to relate to her classmates and friends so she can support others better)
Necronomicon- Guts (Futaba is very similar to Yusuke - she faces her fear head on and finds the truth she buried, and is also training herself to overcome her fears in the real world as well)
Milady- Proficiency (haven’t gotten very far with Haru’s SL yet but it does seem like she’s now in control of the company so she’s going to have to learn how to be quite skillful. She has a very finicky hobby (gardening), her persona is great for technical damage, and what I love most about Haru being associated with proficiency is that it directly flies in the face of her father treating her like an object with no value other than family business ties. Haru is skilled as hell. Fuck you)
Cendrillon- Charm (I don’t currently know what to make of this yet. Kasumi’s awakening was really weird in the first place. I guess it’s because all eyes are on her and she has a lot of expectations - her routines are about grace and strength and flexibility)
Robin Hood- Guts (tbh I don’t know what to do with this either. I thought for sure Akechi was going to be knowledge like Joker… but apparently not. I guess detective boy is gutsy.)

8. What happens if one of them gets sick?
Madoka needs to be babied. Haru and Yusuke straight up will ignore the fact that they're sick and just power through everything until Madoka sits either of them down with tea and soup. Yusuke's pretty awful with that - mostly due to Madarame - but Madoka and Haru are teaching him to be better!
14. How do their personalities compliment each other? How do they clash?
The trio are all very... eccentric. However, Madoka's down-to-earth 'too cool' nature tends to clash with Yusuke's more eccentric and fantastical outward appearances, as well as Haru's deeply caring personality. Haru's sadism also drives a wrench between the trio :')
20. Choose one song that perfectly describes their relationship.
Golden by Harry Styles (im pretty sure my old ship tag for them was 'i know that you're scared (because hearts get broken)')
31. Can they sit side by side without touching the other or are they handsy? (lacing fingers, touching knees, etc.)
Yusuke is very sensitive to touch and Madoka's a bit more standoffish. Haru on the other hand... Yeah, she can't do that. Yusuke and Madoka are fine and there's Haru, with one hand on Yusuke's knee and another on Madoka's arm :')
42. What’s their favorite type of weather to enjoy together? (getting snowed in together, watching thunderstorms, etc.)
Thunderstorms. Oh god, Yusuke loves drawing them and it's a great conversation starter between the three of them. They just sit there and watch the clouds get darker as Yusuke pulls out his sketch book and it's just great quality time!
49. Does either of them have a hard time being away from the other?
Yusuke's an introvert, so he's fine with spending time alone or with just one of his partners. Madoka's an extrovert and much more clingy when it comes to Yusuke and Haru - when Haru was at uni studying business, Madoka basically would spend hours checking her phone for texts from Haru :'). Haru's much more in the middle - she's not as clingy as Madoka but not as distant as Yusuke, so she acts as a neat happy medium!
50. who’s more likely to do something out of spite?
Everyone thinks it's Madoka or Haru, but Yusuke is more likely. If Sugimura comes back into Haru's life, Yusuke is the most likely to try to scare him away. It's a miracle that he can't summon Goemon/Kamu Susano-o/Gorokichi outside the metaverse, bc Sugimura would be an ice statue.

Okay, most of my thoughts on poor Yusuke are either shared by or copied from you.
It's impressive that Yusuke shares a VA with three other characters that are on the Nintendo Switch - Cole Cassidy, Chrom and @inkwell1013's Fighting Chance favorite, Ganondorf!... hey, that's 75% swordbois!
Something I'm wondering all of a sudden: did Ms. Kitagawa choose Yusuke's name, or did Madarame? Is Kitagawa even Ms. K's surname to begin with? If Madarame can change the title of Sayuri...
One thing I dislike about Yusuke is that it feels somewhat as if he was given Goemon in order to parallel Lupin III or w/e. IDK that anime very well, but... if you were gonna do that, why not make Goemon Ryuji's Initial Persona? Ryuji's supposed to be, like, Akiren's right-hand man or whatever, right?
... that said, Yusuke and Captain Kidd don't feel like they go together super-well, though...
Oh, and Yusuke is all the genders and sexualities and none of them at once. It's impressive!

Phantom Thief outfit breakdown: pt 6
This is a continuation of my previous post and series regarding my opinions on the phantom thieves' metaverse costumes, prompted by a poll by @waywardsalt. I will like all of these together as they're finished.
Akechi - Ann - Makoto - Sumire - Futaba - Akechi 2
Next Up: Yusuke! Heads up, we're getting to the point were I have significantly less in the way of changes, so from here on out it might primarily be analysis over direct tweaks.

In my opinion, Yusuke has a very solid design, but it's not a stand-out one to me. I think some of the other costumes are worse but, also more memorable, so this one rides the line of being good but not flashy enough to stand out in the way others do. I think this actually works well for Yusuke though, as his eccentric and larger than life personality easily shine through and draw attention instead.
The key ideas behind this outfit seems to be to take a simplistic, elegant, and streamlined approach to match Yusuke's frugal upbringing and artistic sensibilities, with traditional Japanese influences to accent it. His mask is an excellent example of this, clearly being an homage to not only kitsune mythology, but the dramatic masks of kabuki, which in turn ties into the way Goemon is clearly designed with the elaborate costumes and dynamic swagger of aragoto, or rough-style, kabuki male leads.

My biggest gripe with the outfit is the tail; I love its inclusion to further accentuate the kitsune inspiration, but I think it could be executed better. The current way its attached, with the metal end clipped to the sash, just screams middle school furry tail to me in the tackiest way. No shade to furries (Yusuke would probably find them fascinating and delightful), but it's not working for this outfit. I think the key to making it look better is to de-emphasize its point of attachment, and make it look like a more natural part of the whole costume and the sash instead of something clipped on at the last minute.
I also think the sash itself could be improved upon; its a good pop of color, but sort of shapeless. I would do this one of two ways: either make it more rope-like, to tie with the dramatic tasuki of his persona, or by making it more obviously similar to the obi belt of traditional kimonos, which are smoother and tied tighter than the sash present on the outfit now. Obi's are also tied in the back with a variety of different knots, depending on how secure it needs to be, which could help with the tail attachment; it also would add an additional traditional touch to the ensemble.

I think the distribution of pops of color, such as the shocking neon blue of the gloves, blue stripes on the sash, and red ribbon of the tail, do a good job of breaking up the navy blue and white palette of the suit and white motorcycle boots (interesting choice, considering Makoto is the one with the literal motorcycle persona). However, I do think it would have been nice to see slightly more color accents throughout in a subtle way, perhaps by making the silver of the zipper more prominent? Nothing flashy, just something small to break the color block up a little more. I also think that Goemon's distinct black and white geometric patterning could have been incorporated, but I'm not sure how.
If you wanted a bigger change, you could open the ends of the sleeves up to resemble kimono robes or add a haori instead of the kind of ridiculously puffed sleeves, but I think this is really necessary and is probably more of me wanting the samurai/ronin aesthetic than anything substantial.
Overall, Yusuke's costume runs a middle ground: good enough to not be noticeably bad, but not flashy enough to compete with some of the more elaborate thief costumes. It's good, its just not wowing me and letting his personality do the talking. I have this one 5th place out of 10 and an overall score of 7/10!

Bio:
As soon as "Sayuri", Yusuke's mother who's name even Yusuke doesn't remember, was pregnant - her and her boyfriend were overjoyed to have a child together as a signal of their love. Unfortunately, Yusuke's father died in a car accident about six months into "Sayuri" 's pregnancy. Devastated and heartbroken, she'd still carry hope within her to go on raising their child alone and that child was Yusuke.
Yet even she didn't last for his mother died when he was 3 years old. She was a pupil under the famous painter Madarame and had created a beautiful self portrait of her holding a baby Yusuke in her arms. Madarame was so obsessed with how perfect that painting was that he relentelssly harassed her to own the rights to the painting that she ended up having a seizure from severe psychological stress. Rather than call the police, Madarame let her die and took off with the painting which left Yusuke an orphan.
With no one to take care of him, as both his parents had no siblings and lost their parents years before Yusuke was born, he'd end up in the foster system for a fairly short time before he managed to come across Madarame and fell in love with the painting of Sayuri. At five years old, he already showed immense talent for art that Madarame saw him as a potential tool to make money off of and adopted him while raising him as his own in a dirty old shack on the outskirts of Shibuya.
Though the Sayuri painting was altered. Madarame painting clouds over where his baby self was as to create a Mona lisa effect with Sayuri to leave people guessing what she was smiling so warmly and lovingly about. The painting became a huge sucsess but Madarame would lie that it was stolen so he could sell copies for it on the black market and pretend it was the real thing to people.
Yet Yusuke knew none of this, he didn't even know that Sayuri was altered or that it was even his mother. As he was so very young when his mother died, he doesn't remember her face anymore. The only thing he can so vaguely remember is maybe her voice saying his name with adoration, but the rest is completely blank in his mind from how many years ago it was.
Though Yusuke was in the dark about how evil Madarame was, he wasn't free from his evil either. He was often starved and had his paintings stolen by Madarame who took them and claimed them as his. He would do this with all his pupils actually, stealing their art and claiming them as his before he'd kick them out or mentally torture them to the point of suicide.
One of them had enough and left, begging Yusuke to come with him. Yet where would he go? He had no one and he was only sixteen, he would've surely been homeless on the streets as an orphan if it wasn't for Madarame housing him and 'caring' for him. His own insecurities telling him that no one or no where could possibly house him as well. He was defensive over Madarame, choosing ignorance over the truth of his evil ways.
Perhaps Yusuke might have died of starvation or mental anguish had it not been for the Phantom Thieves coming in to show him the tragic truth behind the one he once called his master. Yet despite the hurt of the truth and questioning his reality, he embraced the rebellion within him and unleashed his persona for the first time - Goemon.
They managed to get Madarame to confess his crimes and take back the real version of the Sayuri painting. There was still a lot of emotions behind the painting that Yusuke isn't ready to face, mostly grief over the loss of his mother all these years later. Seeing her face in the painting makes him think often of how much she likely wished to live to raise him and how disgusting Madarame was for letting her die like that.
It was enough that Yusuke struggled a lot and went through a deep artist's block. He didn't want to paint for the sake of money like Madarame nor did he want his paintings to feel like someone else's, he wanted inviduality in his work and to expose all of the world. Beauty, pain, desire, love, anguish, etc - all of that he wished to convey in his paintings that it took him a long time and the help of many friends to overcome his artist's blog from everything with Madrame but he's awakened his talent again.
At least Yusuke had a place to live without Madarame there! He was already an honor student in the art department of his school and after hearing about Madarame, Yusuke stays in the dorms free of charge so long as he continues his high grades in the art department which he certainly will. After he graduated high school, he managed to get a scholarship to an art college where he also lives in the dorms free of charge but this time out of love for his beautiful paintings reflecting the true light and dark of the world.
Yusuke is very socially awkward, being a quiet boy throughout his schooling days and sheltered when living with Madarame that he isn't really the best at communication. He speaks elegantly and politely, much like a poet. Though people find his way of speaking like a poet to be weird, he views it as a positive way of being eccentric. He also has a love of beauty and fine aesthetics, anything artistically beautiful and aesthetically pleasing only furthers his love for art and desire to paint something truly gorgeous.

Is it the longer hair? The outfit? The art style? Maybe it’s that his face is more round in the manga to appear more fem (aka the mangaka changed the chars face structure while they are crossdressing, not saying they did, it’s a possibility and I need to look at it later).

What was the goal Atlus? Less than bare min? The only good thing is everything below the head tbh. Out of them all his outfit fits the best (game wise). But nothing with the hair (literally the other two MC’s wore wigs, but you’re too good???? You’re the only one not wearing a wig amongst your team!)? You know what they could’ve done, that would’ve been like....fun? Give him Hamu’s hair! Or a blue version or her hair! Hell, give him long hair I don’t care. Other chars had a wig and he doesn’t? He’s the only MC without a wig to boot!
Like, I like the maid outfit, P3′s maid outfit’s my fav (I don’t mind P4′s, P5D’s and P5R’s Sumi are ok but....I hate P5′s). But I ask......what’s the point? 
P4′s crossdressing costumes are my fav, partially because of the personality that comes from the references (Kanji for Marilyn Monroe, Yosuke for Natsuki from P3 (or at least a vague call back), P4MC for Saya from Blood (The Last Vampire ver irrc), and Teddie for Alice).... But what’s the point for P3/5?
P3: MC has the maid outfit the girl’s wear....ok?  Ken gets a Gekkou HS girl outfit, with hair reminiscent of Yukari and Toriumi....and that’s stretching is so like?? Junpei gets a cheer outfit that the girls got for P3D???? Why????? Aki’s the only one that makes sense cause at least he becomes a police officer. 
P5: MC has an outfit similar to ones that the girls got in that game (imo it fits the Last surprise MV), and Ryuji is kinda like Anne (the way they put the twin tails is just.......so bad....), but why reference Anne???? She’s in the damn game.....would’ve been more fun if it was a reference to Yukino or Lisa (or even Chie), Yusuke wins for at least referencing something of Goemon.
I think P5D did something better than P3D for once (3 to 2), but only cause I could make more sensible connections to the “why”. But even then it’s kinda....eh. 
Personally, I’d make....
P3: Makoto Y dress like Hamuko (unlike Anne, she’s not in the game, and it’d at least be tongue in cheek/a way to technically have her in the game), be it him dressed as her, or just have her be a whole ass skin (imo it should be both, the trade off is she obvie doesn’t get any alt outfits). Aki can stay as is, Junpei........I’d have him dress as Chidori or Ayase (be like the Yosuke of the group, I’m leaning towards Ayase for Magician parallels tho), Ken I’d have him dress as a demon (Alice is taken, so maybe Nekomata? Like a DemiKids/Devil Children version of a demon tho, keep it child friendly). 
P5: I’d keep Yusuke as is (he can be the Teddie, tho I’d make his outfit more like a Oni Jorou from SMT reference), I’d have Ren dress like someone from Cat’s Eye (or Catwoman, or another famous female thief, be like Yu and reference another (animated) medium), and Ryuji......man they REALLY wanted to slap pigtails on this poor bastard....either another famous person (like Marilyn Monroe, or if they REALLY want a school girl, then either Lisa/Chie/Yukino, Yukino would work with his short hair and delinquent appearance).

Chapter 2: Expressionism
Expressionism - a modernist movement whose typical trait is to present the world solely from a subjective perspective, distorting it radically for emotional effect in order to evoke moods or ideas.
The other Phantom Thieves are reluctant to leave Yusuke in the hospital, but Ren revealing that Yusuke has a Palace gets them all to the hideout very quickly.
“I’m just confused,” Ann says, “I mean, we saw Yusuke summon his Persona, did he grow a Palace in the two seconds between when Goemon disappeared and he passed out?”
“I would think Goemon-chan looked strange because Yusuke had a Palace,” Haru replies.
“Persona users can’t have Palaces,” Makoto says.
Futaba frowns. “Wait, what? Who told you that.”
Ann tilts her head “Morgana did. Why?”
“I mean, we had a whole freaking fight when I was in my Palace while I had my Persona,” Futaba points out. “And usually in the case of something being incompatible with a Palace, the Palace dissolves immediately. We steal a treasure, Palace starts to go. Shido temporarily kills himself, Palace starts to go. My Palace didn’t start collapsing until after I left because I was also my own Treasure.”
It’s not like your shadow disappears when you gain a Persona, they’re the same thing. That’s why Ren can recruit them. So you can probably have a Persona and a Palace. Probably isn’t super common but it shouldn’t be impossible.”
Everyone turns to look at Morgana, who clears his throat. “Well… that is….” Morgana sighs. “A very good point that I didn’t think of.”
“What the hell!” Ryuji shouts.
“I have amnesia! I can’t know everything!”
“You’ve sure spent this whole time acting like you know everything! You’re constantly bragging about how much you know about this shit!”
“How could I have known! I’d never seen it before!”
“I’ve never seen France but the place still exists! You  could have at least told us you didn’t know instead of confidently spouting bull-”
“Ok, enough!” Ann says, stepping between the two of them. “Morgana made a mistake, we all do it. What’s important now is helping Yusuke.”
Ryuji sighs. “Fine, you’re right. Sorry.”
“I’m sorry too,” Morgana says,  “I really never thought this would be possible, even with Futaba.”
“We can speculate all we want, but I think the best course of action would be to see Yusuke’s Palace for ourselves,” Makoto says. “Even if we don’t change his heart, it can give us some idea of what to talk to him about when he wakes up at the hospital. Everyone in agreement?”
The group nods, and Futaba pulls out her phone. “At least Inari doesn’t go a lot of places, that should help narrow it down. How about Leblanc?”
There’s no match.
“How about the train station?” Ryuji suggests. “He’s always watching people there.”
The phone buzzes negative again.
“His school, maybe?” Makoto says.
“It’s a match!” Futaba announces.
“I thought so, Yusuke doesn’t talk a lot about his school, if there was something going on that we didn’t know about, that’s probably the most likely place.”
“So, that just leaves the What,” Ann says. ”Studio?”
No match.
“Observatory?” Ann tries. “Dungeon?”
Those don’t match either.
“Museum?” Ann says quietly. Ryuji, Morgana, and Ren all hold their breath, but the MetaNav announces that that’s not it either. “Oh good.” Ann sighs in relief. “I’d feel weird if it was another museum.”
“For real,” Ryuji says. “But you were probably right at first that it’s art related.”
“Well, if it’s not a studio, then maybe a workshop?” Haru asks. “Does it have to be that specific?”
“Apparently so,” Futaba says. “We have a hit.”
The room falls silent, and Ren swallows. “Alright. All in favor of looking into Yusuke’s Palace to see what’s going on at least? No changes of heart until we understand the situation.” Slowly but surely, everyone raises their hand, and the matter is settled.

Once the MetaNav drops them off, the only signs that they’re not in the real world anymore is all the people disappearing and the chill in the air.
“Morgana, you picking up on anything?” Ren asks. They haven’t transformed, and they’ve never tried to summon their Personas when someone doesn’t view them as an intruder. While it’s probably possible even without their masks, it’s probably not safe to run the risk of somehow alienating Yusuke by summoning their Personas first, which means Morgana can handle Navigation for now.
Morgana tilts his head upward and sniffs for a few seconds. “I think I smell shadows somewhere in the building.”
“It’s probably the actual art room, then.” Makoto says.
“So Yusuke sees the art classroom… as a workshop?” Ryuji scratches his head. “Is that really distorted?”
“We’ll just have to see,” Ren says, striding towards the front doors. 
If Yusuke’s cognition of Kosei is accurate, the school is beyond opulent. They pick up a map from the front desks and start towards the fifth floor, where the art room is. The walls are lined with verdant plants that Haru keeps stopping to admire, the classrooms have smart boards instead of the chalk ones and Shujin, and Futaba practically salivates at the computer lab.
“He doesn’t even have a cognition of the exact details and I can still tell how good these are!” Futaba squeals. “Do I wanna go to Kosei?”
Eventually they drag Futaba away from the computers and press onwards. Morgana leads the way, but they probably could have found their way to the art room even without it, since it keeps getting colder and the whispers keep getting louder.
Even the stolen shit wasn’t that good. I doubt he’s got any real skills.
He’s so quiet, why doesn’t he talk to anyone?
Nah don’t bother talking to him, he’s a creep.
There’s no way he’s legit, right? I mean, what can you learn from a fraud?
And on and on.
“Damn, is Yusuke actually hearing this shit at school?” Ryuji asks.
Haru looks like she’s seriously considering decking the disembodied voices. “It’s not his fault Madarame raised him. Yusuke’s always trying so hard, how dare they judge him!”
“That’s how most high schools are,” Ann sighs. “They’ll talk about anything, especially if you’re a loner.”
“Maybe,” Makoto says, “or this might be how Yusuke thinks of himself.”
“Or a mix of both,” Ren adds. “It’s coming from somewhere.”
The door to the art room is completely frosted over. Ryuji, Makoto, and Haru have to push with all their might to get it open.The art room is much bigger than the outside would suggest. It’s a sprawling concrete complex, with bright lights humming. Frost and snow have piled up along the sides of the workshop, and the walls are covered with red paint. Some of it is just spread in a pattern, sort of like the ones on Yusuke’s mask. The rest are doodles with notes like “not balanced enough,” or “too many light colors.” Finally, there are sections of the wall that have been clawed out by someone who seemed to be unhappy with what was underneath. 
They can hear Yusuke’s voice echoing down the halls, but can’t make out what he’s saying.
“Y-yusuke!” Futaba calls, pulling her jacket tighter around herself.
There’s no response, so they group together for warmth and follow Yusuke’s voice.
When they find him, he’s in a much larger room than any of the others, and the walls are almost completely covered with more red scribbles. Yusuke is at the center of the room with a canvas and a table of various supplies next to him. Ren can’t help but smile when he sees that even Yusuke’s shadow has kept the fox tail and ears.
“Yusuke!” Ann calls again, but Yusuke is too absorbed in his work to notice.
“No, no it’s still not right, a line here, maybe?” Yusuke mutters. He reaches over to the table and picks up when Ren thinks is a brush, before he sees glint as Yusuke brings it towards his wrist.
Faster than any of them can process what’s happening, Yusuke slashes his left wrist with the scalpel, then uses his right hand to finger pain on the canvas with his own blood. The rest of the Phantom Thieves are frozen, while Yusuke continues on.
“Still not enough,” Yusuke says, “maybe some intestines?” He grabs a much larger knife from the table and that spurs the rest of the team forward.
“Holy shit, no.” Ryuji shouts, grabbing Yusuke’s arms while Makoto grabs the knife and Haru takes a handkerchief to wrap Yusuke’s wrist.
“Oh! You guys aren’t supposed to be here,” Yusuke laughs. His hair is an unruly mess, pushed back by a pair of goggles. Blood is smeared on his face, in his hair, and on Yusuke’s clothes, a blue mechanic’s jumpsuit similar to his Phantom Thief attire. The only parts of him that don’t have blood on them are his tail and the second pair of fox ears poking out of his head, which are still a pristine white.
Now that Ren’s gotten a better look at him, it’s easier to see Shadow Yusuke instead of just Yusuke, though he knows it’s a distinction without a difference. It’s just a little bit of comfort that Yusuke hasn’t literally been trying to take out his intestines for art.
Shadow Yusuke wriggles out of Ryuji’s grasp and turns to look at them. “Don’t you have better things to do?”
“We wanted to make sure you’re ok,” Ann says.
“Oh, I’m fine! I’m doing great! Just a little art block, but Ren’s been such a great help with that.”
“Have I?” Ren asks, looking around at the increasingly frantic scribbles on the wall.
“You have! You’ve been wonderful!” Shadow Yusuke’s tail is wagging aggressively. “You’ve shown me so many new and interesting things, you’ve stuck through me on the entire journey so far, it’s my fault I can’t finish. It’s just going to take a little more though! I’m so close to a breakthrough.” 
Shadow Yusuke tries to head back to the canvas, but Makoto and Haru get in his way.
“Have you tried taking a break?” Makoto suggests gently.
“No time for breaks! I have to finish the piece”
“If you rest you might have time to think of something new!” Haru points out.
Shadow Yusuke shakes his head. “If I wait for too long then-“
As if to prove his point, ice starts to build up on his boots and Shadow Yusuke has to tug violently to get it out. There’s an unsettling popping sound when he does and he goes back to the canvas. Digging under Haru’s handkerchief to get more blood.
Ren gets a closer look and can see it’s a version of Desire but with little differences here and there. The painting even seems to be moving. “Yusuke, you know it’s ok if you’re having trouble, right? You can take your time, we’ll be here to support you every step of the way.”
“I know that,” Shadow Yusuke says, not looking away from the canvas, “but not everyone feels that way.”
“Well then eff those guys!” Ryuji says.
“Those guys pay for my housing, Ryuji.” Shadow Yusuke’s fox ears are twitching ever so slightly and he slows down before going back to painting. “It is actually important that I keep my scholarship.”
“Well certainly they’re not asking for you to produce to the extent you can’t slow down,” Haru says. “They can’t do this to all their students.”
Shadow Yusuke opens his mouth to say something, then holds back. “I’m not exactly like most students. As a scholarship student and a direct relation to the largest art scandal of the last five years, I attract a certain level of scrutiny.”
Ren frowns. “Wait… are you mad at us?” Ren asks.
That, finally gets Yusuke to stop painting and turn to look at them. “No. I could never really be angry at you, I just wish you weren’t here right now. It’s hard to talk to you about this.”
“Yusuke, you can talk with us about anything!” Ann says.
Yusuke starts scratching at his arm. “Ann, do you have to pay for utilities?”
“Well, no but—“
“Do you have to buy your own food and clothes and pay to do laundry because you don’t have enough clothes for a whole week without washing them?”
“No.”
“Do you have to choose between warm showers, or using your phone, or eating for a week?”
“We can still—“
“And do you have a solution for me that isn’t ‘just stop buying art supplies’? Because that’s always what it is with you all, and that isn’t exactly feasible. I need supplies to make art to keep my scholarship. My art isn’t good enough which means I need more to fix things, and going a week without eating is preferable to being kicked out of the dorms?!”
Shadow Yusuke is gripping his arm so tightly now that blood is starting to seep past his fingers.
“Well you could always stay with one of us?” Haru offers.
“Haru, your kindness knows no bounds, and I appreciate it, but I don’t want to be reliant on others anymore. I don’t want to be the object of your pity every day.” Shadow Yusuke sighs. “I’m sorry. Really I am, I shouldn’t snap at you, that's wrong of me. I know you guys have your own struggles in ways I don’t understand. I could never run a business for example. It’s just, art isn’t a hobby for me. It’s not something I can just decide not to do or put on hold.”
Ice has started to form on his boots again and Shadow Yusuke bends down to break it by punching it so hard his knuckles bleed. 
“What would happen,” Makoto says carefully, “if you decided not to do art and didn’t have to worry about your scholarship. Hypothetically.”
Shadow Yusuke laughs. “The Madarame would win, and I’ll have wasted all your kindness.”
“Yusuke that’s not—“ Morgana starts, but Yusuke puts his hand up.
“I don’t want to talk about this with you anymore.”
Suddenly, icy wind bursts through the complex, pushing them back.
“Yusuke, wait!” Futaba shouts. “Please, we can work something out!”
A final gust of wind sweeps through, lifting them all up and depositing them back outside the art room. The door slams shut and instantly freezes over, the ice at least three inches thick.
“Oh no you don’t!” Ann summons Carmen, and throws fire at the door, but the ice doesn’t melt.
Ryuji punches the nearby wall. “Damn it!” 
“C’mon.” Ren says, pulling himself off the floor. “Let’s head back and talk to Yusuke in the real world.”
“You think that’ll work?” Morgana asks. “He said he didn’t want to talk to us.”
“I think now that we have a better idea about how he really feels, we can do more to help.” Ren says. “I also think we’re not getting back in without changing his cognition in the real world, if a change of heart would even help here. It’s the best course of action.”

- Lupin: 🤑🤠💍  These are all oneshot ideas, between 5-15K each. If you want to vote for a specific idea, send me the emojis and the number of the idea.
Born from the idea that Goemon and Zenigata probably couldn’t be an item, my brain decided to come up with how I could write for them. Goemon’s teaching an ikebana class as part of his training, and Zenigata shows up as a student on forced recreational leave for his health from the ICPO. Zenigata wins the samurai’s heart through flowers. But what happens when Lupin and Jigen find out? (Only good sexy things, I promise. These beans are in a healthy polycule--be gay, do crimes) (WIP)
Jigen/Lupin, but it's Jigen deciding to seduce Lupin while wearing his own Lupin disguise. The thief is waaaaay too into it, and some artistry is taken with the sex so that they don't mess up the disguise too much during their encoutner.
Jigen/Zenigata/Lupin where Jigen has some fantasices about Zenigata, but is pretty sure they'll never happen. Tells Lupin about them. Suddenly the fantasies are coming true, in the middle of a heist, and Jigen doesn't what to do except get swept up in the moment and enjoy. Plot twist, it's Lupin dressed up as Zenigata granting all his gunman's dreams. Plot twist again, Zenigata catches them at it.
Zenigata/Lupin, where Lupin keeps doing good things in illegal ways and Pops has to find a way to punish him for it. Good thing for Pops Lupin's a masochist?
Trans!Lupin and Trans!Jigen premise: Jigen cares for Lupin after the master thief has top surgery, since Jigen has Been There and Done That. Caring, sweet, and a little sexy. Lupin is a much better patient than Jigen.
The one time Zenigata caught Lupin in an alley and kissed him and it was Jigen in disguise. Things get sexy anyway, and Zenigata has crushes on two thieves now. Lupin and Jigen "kidnap" him later for an evening of taking care of their inspector.
The background plot of Jigen's Gravestone where we see Jigen think he's done for and try to leave Lupin. Our thief has none of it, and we get to relish in the inherent eroticism of Lupin sitting in sniper fire, knowing Jigen's got his back. This is the moment I think Jigen finally believes he can be with Lupin forever.
I love the idea of something longer and more plot driven like a Lupin special where Lupin ends up in hot water and Jigen and Fujiko have to work together to save him. Jigen and Fujiko have such an interesting relationship. They're both partners of Lupin, they don't really like each other, they constantly screw the other over, but when it really matters they take care of each other. I'd like to see that highlighted a little more and also give them space to call each other out and bicker. Nothing sexy between them, but maybe a really interesting threesome with Lupin and Fujiko in a strap on once they save their boy.
- Sonic Vampire Novelist Coffee Shop AU: 📚☕💐
Shadow is an immortal vampire who has seen the world change for the worse too many times. These days it feels like he only lives for his coffee dates with Rouge, another immortal who loves each new era they encounter, warts and all. He has to admit that the book series she got him into speaks to him, at least. If someone in this era can understand him without meeting him, it can’t all be bad. But he hardly expected the goofy blue barista at the new coffee place to understand him the way those books do.
This is a novel length romcom romp with some big feelings about what it means to watch as things change, grow, and die. Expect lots of Big gothic feelings from this one, emotionally charged kissing, and overly-adoring sex. But also expect shenanigans from everyone in the coffee shop, which include Rouge, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Cream, and more.
- Sonic Blazamy, "Like the Sun": 💖🌸💎
Amy Rose has been in love with Sonic for a while.
Or has she?
When the Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver are trapped as the fuel sources for Doctor Eggman’s newest evil scheme, Amy teams up with Blaze, Rouge, and Cream to save them. With Sonic out of the picture and Amy fulfilling his role, was she ever really in love with him? Or did she just want to be like him?
This is a novel length epic romance with lots of competent women and lots of romantic Blazamy content. Expect flowery hopes and dreams, badass self-actualization, and glancing hand touches that give way to cuddly and sweet sex.
- Persona 5: 🗡🍛☕
After bringing down the Metaverse twice, Ryuji didn’t think graduating high school and figuring out what to do with his life would be so hard. Akira’s back in town, and the gang’s more-or-less all in Tokyo, but everyone else seems to have a plan while Ryuji just floats. How’s he supposed to change the world when he’s not a phantom thief anymore?
This is a novel length fic that addresses how powerless one can feel being just one person in the face of all the corrupted systems and bigotry the world has to offer. It’s about holding on to what you believe in, working through the doubt, and fighting your way to a better tomorrow with the power you do have. The whole gang is queer, featured relationships being Mako x Ann, Ryuji x Akira, Futaba & Yusuke as platonic life partners. Akira is polyamorous and omnisexual, Futaba’s asexual and aromantic while Yusuke is demisexual and very romantic, Makoto’s a lesbian, Ann and Ryuji are bi, and Haru’s pansexual, demisexual, and aromantic. They’re one giant band of queer Phantom Thieves, and even if they’re not really doing the Metaverse thing anymore, they’re still gonna save the world!
Also, I’m gonna make Makoto not a cop. That super didn’t age well. Zenkichi and his boss can work on making them better/abolishing them for other better organizations.
- Hades Game: ❤️‍🔥💀
Oneshot. I just really need to elaborate on the threesome you can have with them in-game, okay? Healthy and canon poly relationships are so few and far between, so often I have to do a ton of groundwork to explain why it’s working in the fic, but NOT WITH THESE KIDS!
Get ready for Meg helping Zag and Than be better at expressing their feelings, lots of kissing, and probably pegging.
- Castlevania Animation Trevor/Sypha/Alucard: 🧛🏰🛌
Castlevania gave Alucard a threesome last season, and I just really need S4 to give me him being taken care of by his partners. They’re probably not going to give it to me, so I’ll need to do it myself. This is just an everybody loves Alucard oneshot, with the gang’s signature banter (to an extent), Sypha being sexy, and Trever being remarkably sincere. This fic is gonna feel like that Ann Hathaway picture with Trevor kissing Alucard and Sypha holding the end of Trevor’s whip while she leans her head on Alucard’s shoulder adoringly.
- Devil May Cry Nico/Lady/Trish: 💋✨😈
Nico’s gay, okay? Like really, really gay. And Lady’s bi and not into men who make her pay bills, but very into women who make amazing guns for her and demonesses with hearts who fight by her side. Trish is ace, but loves people and is pretty attached to Lady at this point. Plus it’s cute when Lady blushes and says nice things like they’re insults. I don’t have super solid ideas for them yet, and I envision these more like a polycule where Lady’s with Nico and with Trish but they’re not with each other more than seeing it as a threesome, but who knows what might happen. This is probably 1-2 oneshots depending on ideas, but might turn into a series of oneshots if people are interested (or I can’t control myself and inspiration strikes).
- Post FMA:B Blind Roy & No Alchemy Ed: 👀👑🙏
This is actually an old novel-length fic I wrote ages ago and didn’t post that didn’t turn out well because I was new to writing sex when I first wrote it. The plot is good, and is all about Roy learning to work with his blindness to reclaim his ambition of being Fuhrer and changing the system to something that actually cares for its people. He and Ed reconnect, fall into bed, and both set about working through their respective traumas about being “useless” having lost their sight/alchemy. They go to Xing as an ambassadorial party to offer Amestris’s collaboration on Al and May’s Alkahestry experiments--and uncover a plot that might threaten both kingdoms.
- Age of Calamity continuity Mipha x Revali: 🦚🐟💘
The first time Revali noticed Mipha, it was in the heat of battle. She stole his mark, taking them down with a flurry of quick blows from her spear. Violence rained from her like water--and then she healed him on her way to her next battle. No questions, no conditions, just pure kindness. The usual need to measure himself against those around him was quiet in her wake. And Revali couldn’t understand it. But how to get to know more about her? A fish and bird may fall in love, but where would they live?
This fic could be a oneshot or novel length depending on how far down the hole I fall. I need it to cover time, but it could be done in linked vignettes or with actually covering events in detail. I just think Urbosa should kiss women and Zelda’s mom should get more development and maybe a name or something. Also, lightning imagery/metaphors/play.
It also went way over my head that Riju wasn’t Urbosa’s daughter the first time I played BotW, so now I want to write about the Gerudo queen who refused to produce an heir. The Gerudo are fascinating and have a very interesting cutlure, but I think it could be examined from a nonbinary perspective that rejected pregnancy and wanting to find a husband. Not in like a hateful way, but in a way that examines if that’s really right for everyone. There’s that shop in town that sells Voe armor, after all. Maybe finding a husband and having children isn’t something you have to do if you don’t want to. And Urbosa really doesn’t want to.

I saw an old ask where someone mentioned a head canon where Akira was raised by other Persona users and I’m like: Yes, all of the yess!!!! Cuz like… I’m obsessed with this one au I have that will never leave the confines of my mind where Joker had already awakened Arsene before he moved to Tokyo and was raised either by or alongside the other Wild Cards and trained with Igor and the Attendants of the Velvet Room (Primarily Lavenza, Justine, and Caroline) when he first awakened Arsene and stuff to control his powers because I’m also a glutton for aid where the thieves can use their elemental powers outside of the Metaverse and stuff and like… the the stuff with Yaldabaoth taking over the Velvet Room happens but Joker kinda knows going in that it’s all some sick game Yaldy is playing and he’s trying to get to the bottom of the Metaverse with Morgana to try and stop Yaldy and all the other WCs are kinda trapped too. So we end up having a much more experience Joker and Morgana that know a lot more about the inner working of the Metaverse, is fully aware of the threat Yaldy poses, and effectively have a reason to try and gather more persona users of differing arcanas and an even bigger need to keep his head down so as to not gain the attention of a imposter god who is actively hunting Persona users to manipulate or destroy
so, like, sorta like a ng+ au?
you'd think that if aki already knew about yaldy and had a persona beforehand, someone would be there to have taught him all of that. and for some reason that mentor came in the form of a talking not-cat, but akira doesn't have time to question his life choices.
and the part where he trains with the velvet attendants before the Room is taken over? perfection. imagine how over powered he can make his personas before 'igor' goes all "complete your rehabilitation, inmate."
with the other wildcards being with him, before he moves to tokyo they could always have a bit of familial sparring for whatever reason they wanted. the velvet room is a perfect spot.
if you look at it, with the wildcards being trapped too gives akira an even GREATER incentive to kick yaldy in its nonexistent teeth.
and im assuming yaldy knows about how much of a threat persona users are to it, which is why it targets them.
i am also a HUGE sucker for aus and fics in which the thieves and other persona-users are able to manipulate their elements a bit in the real world and are affected by them. i like to think that joker, though more curse-inclined due to arsene, can use the element of the persona he has equipped, though not as much as someone native to that element can.
like imagine when mona gets really mad, the air around him whirls and whips violently, like a tornado. yusuke complains when the water in the bath is hot NOT JUST because of goemon's backstory, but also because he's sensitive to temperature increases around him. on a windy day, a single gust of wind can knock ryuji clean over, or, when he gets excited, he accidentally shocks people when he touches them due to static.
i love persona aus, so if you want anyone to talk to about aus you find, my eyes are peeled 👀

They have sacrificed themselves and each other in their pursuit of justice, neither escaping the interrogation room unscathed. Yet the hard lessons learned inform new choices when their paths cross again. They prompt new awakenings, of both themselves and each other, and rather than let themselves fall to the whims of fate and be forever lost, they choose to rebel. They choose themselves and each other, fate and fathers be damned.

“You’re not Shido. And it’s never been about giving people second chances. It’s about making them realize the awful things that they’ve done and to stop them from hurting anyone else. You already did that. You realized that today.”
“Only after you defeated me. How is that any different from what you’ll be doing tomorrow with Shido or from what you’ve already done?”
“Because I didn’t take anything from you, Goro!”
Akira’s voice rings throughout the attic. He’s not angry, not like he was at the cognition earlier, but he’s not like anything Goro has seen before either, his control fraying and Akira clinging desperately to the last thread. He turns from Goro and walks away, only a few steps, just far enough to give Akira space to collect himself. Goro watches as he bows his head, as he runs a hand through his hair, as he digs his fingers into his curls before he lets his hand flop back down to his side. Then he tilts his head up toward the ceiling, and the breath that he drags in drags at Goro, it digs claws into him and wrenches at his worthless heart.
The silence persists another few seconds before Akira speaks. “There was no palace to navigate. No treasure to steal. You recognized your distorted thoughts, and you changed your heart on your own. It’s completely different from Shido and from anyone else with a palace or any shadow that we’ve fought in Mementos. And the fact that you can’t see that is…”
Akira shakes his head. He’s quiet a long moment. Then he draws in another breath and exhales it slowly. As he does, his shoulders set, and Goro already knows what he’s going to see when Akira turns back around. Yet the expectation of that resolve doesn’t diminish its power. Goro can only stare when Akira turns, as helplessly as he stared as Akira drew soft fingers through his hair in a dim hallway of a cafe in Kichijoji, as helplessly as he stared as Akira looked at him in the bath and said that his bond, his heart, his soul, were angels.
“Do you know what it is like?” Akira asks. He starts toward Goro, his steps measured and slow. “It’s like what’s happened to Ryuji and Ann and Yusuke. You couldn’t have known about Ryuji and Ann. They’d already changed by the time we started Sae’s palace. But Yusuke?” Akira says when he reaches Goro. “You must have noticed that he doesn’t have Goemon anymore. And it’s because he’s changed. Because he’s learned from his past. They all have. And you have, too, and it’s-”
Goro averts his gaze. “Kurusu-”
“Don’t. Don’t turn away from this. Don’t deny it.”
“I’m not.”
“You are.”
The claim hangs suspended between them, like the moment does and like the world, and then, in the stillness, Akira moves. Goro gasps at the feel of Akira’s fingers against his face, at the soft touch of his palm to Goro’s cheek. He eases Goro’s head back around until they’re looking at each other again. Goro expects him to lower his hand then, his goal achieved, but Akira doesn’t, and Goro hates and wants that lingering touch in equal measure.
“You say I hide myself?” Akira begins. “So do you. Even now, even after you came here for an honest conversation. I know you feel something for me. Avoiding that will accomplish nothing.”
Goro rears back at the claim, at his claim being thrown in his face once again. “Avoiding it?” he hisses. “I’m not avoiding it. Why the hell do you think I’m here if I’m avoiding it? Why the hell do you think I saved you if I’m avoiding it? I know perfectly well what I feel for you, and that is the problem! You make me feel more than anyone else has in my life, and I still killed you!”
And so it spills from him, the essential truths of himself, as fundamental to him as they are contradictory. He wants Akira, he wanted him even when he walked into that interrogation room, yet he wanted his vengeance more. Understanding the stupidity of the latter now doesn’t erase its existence, and neither does admitting the reality of the former.
If only he had met Akira earlier.
Goro grits his teeth at the thought. It’s a foolish wish that he’d thought he’d buried in the engine room. Shaking his head, he tries to walk past Akira, to leave before things unravel even further than they already have, but Akira grabs his hand and holds him fast as he says, “And you make me feel more than anyone else has in my life, and I still let you kill me.”

I do not! Nothing against it but I just don’t personally enjoy the process so I don’t use it in my personal work. Too much transforming and filtering.. too little actual drawing. I have however used it for professional work and sometimes I will sketch things individually and collage them together to make it easier for me to work depending on the scale. But yeah, no photobashing normally.

(post in reference) I didn’t use any perspective grids for that drawing but occasionally for bigger pieces that require a stronger adherence to perspective I’ll use the Perspective Tools extension by Sergey Kritsky which is ABSOULTELY worth the price here on gumroad if you’re a photoshop-user - makes grids very easy to set up. You can actually see some of the grids in my process work if you’re looking for it lol

I used to be such a square abt it like “bluh perspective is just a bunch of lines i dont need a tool to do it for me like a DUMB BABY. I can just draw the grids myself and itll be good enough!!! :\” dont be like that LOL, I started using perspective tools for work last year and ported it over to my personal work so damn fast its like one of the best artistic decisions ive made. If you can make less work for yourself, PLEASE make less work for yourself.

I will probably draw naruto again because like every 4 years of my life I go through a naruto phase. I have drawn dangan ronpa before many many years ago and I gotta say the only time I will ever draw it again will be if I’m commissioned to lol...Nothing against it personally, it’s just not really my thing. Uhhhh they’re good! I like them! Yusuke’s character arc is maybe like my favorite or second favorite in the game and I love Ryuji first and foremost for max mittlemans voice acting and secondly because he is just so...so much better than P4 Yosuke who I truly could not stand.
I’m not big on Mishima but I think he’s an incredibly well written depiction of like. that dude in class who you didn’t really mean to talk to but ended up talking to and now its a little weird. I really like that event where you run into shinya while hanging out with mishima and shinyas like “whos this your friend” and ren is like “no, king, hes no one” LOL this is mostly because I just really like shinya. 
ships.... I like yusuke/ryuji a lot, just aesthetically and personality wise its an interesting dynamic. I like ryuji/ann bc theyre good friends. I like ann/yusuke if I close my eyes to all the early plot stuff and just pretend theyre like.....fujiko and goemon from lupin III LMAO. ryuji/makoto? kinda woke?? I mean I feel lesbian makoto deep in my bones but also their showtime opened my eyes a lil. I think they could bond over action movies. mishima/protag is kind of fun in like a sad pathetic way.. I’m a little interested in mishima/JOKER actually bc i like identity porn plotlines lol.

Snapshots (6.2k) - 💢💕💀 (Various platonic relationships) There’s a funny thing about memories. Some of clear and defined – like a photograph – while others are hazy and vague like a half-finished sketch. Still, they define a person just as much as the choices they make or the friends they keep. All of Yusuke’s most important memories are about Madarame. Thinking back on his life, he wondered how he missed all the red flags.
Birds of a Feather (1.6k) - 💢💕 (Platonic Yusuke and Futaba) Futaba and Yusuke spend the night watching anime together, but Futaba makes a horrible mistake that effects Yusuke more than either of them expected and has to deal with the consequences.
Quiet Hands (2.9k) - 💢💕 (Platonic Yusuke and the Phantom Thieves) Madarame never understood Yusuke. He was quick to punish Yusuke for fidgeting. Yusuke learns that loud hands get him hurt. It is much better to have quiet hands. It is better to hold down all the stuff that makes him different. It is better to be who Madarame wants him to be. The Phantom Thieves seemed to disagree with this.
Conversations with Other Selves (1.1k) - 💢💕🌸 (Yusuke and Goemon)  Goemon has been lingering in Yusuke’s mind for years. Yusuke has questions. (Haru and Milady) Haru is having trouble with her ex-fiance and Milady offers to help. (Futaba and Necronomicon) Necronomicon helps Futaba with her maths homework. (Ryuji and Captain Kidd) Ryuji witnesses a boy being beaten up in the streets and steps in. Afterwards, he and Captain Kidd check on the boy.
Feeding the Starving Artist (5.2) -  💢🌸 (Platonic Yusuke and the Phantom Thieves Yusuke Kitagawa is the epitome of a starving artist - in more ways than one - and when Ren find out that his friend is dangerously underweight, he and the rest of the Phantom Thieves hatch a plan to help Yusuke with his bad eating habits. Because sometimes the solution is just as simple as it sounds.
What’s a Meme? (<1k) -  ⭐ (Platonic Yusuke and the Phantom Thieves) Yusuke has never heard of memes, which Futaba considers a travesty.

A small angst Drabble for Yusuke’s lupin third verse that I kept to myself I think. also I hate how I wrote Goemon but fight me it works maybe.
Under read more for mentions of abuse
Both hands failed to stop their shaking as they gripped onto the owner’s frail body as the young boy kept crying to himself , seated in the corner of his locked up room. The family always treated him like dirt on the bottom of their shoe’s. That his very existence had caused so many problems that were far from the youngest Ishikawa’s fault. But it is not like a small child could understand what their parents were saying and doing were incredibly wrong whilst far from being how other parents treated their own children. He always believed everything they said and did was correct , even when nothing truly bad had been done beforehand to warrant such a reaction.
Yusuke whimpered lowly , tucking both knees further up to his chest as the tears started to leave darker patches on the hakama. Almost begging that either mother or father would change their minds and pick him up , giving him hugs whilst repeating they were sorry for always being so harsh for no real reason. Yet the voices could be heard even from where his empty cold room was located. Always so angry and full of hate towards their own flesh and blood. Though very rarely , or rare for the boy to have overheard it , a somewhat softer ( despite the actual tone ) voice could be heard. It belonged to the singular good family member he’d met so far , the apparent uncle Goemon Ishikawa Xiii. Granted the older man focused on training and jobs a lot it appeared than being there whilst also not looking like the most approachable person at times , but Yusuke preferred to be around him than anyone else. In a way like a second much better father.   As the boy remained silent in crying and trying to focus on anything else , the sliding door slowly opened as whoever it was entered to kneel beside the small child. A hand gently petted the top of his head making him look up slowly and through eyes blurred with tears he was still able to recognise who it was based on rough outfit alone. The Ishikawa by normal standards would be rather eccentric yet naturally there would always be a member of that family that was even worse than the other.
“ Oigo, it is good to know you are alright. “ despite the obvious signs that everything was extremely far from alright  Goemon wanted to allow his nephew to ignore all the pain occurring. It was sickening , even in the view of someone in other ways stronger , that so called caring parents could be so cold , uncaring and down right mistreat a child of their own. The complete opposite of their ancestor who’d saved his own son for the trade of his own life. Goemon struggled with how this attitude came about but there was nothing he could do except attempt to look out for Yusuke whenever possible. The corners of his lips tugged up into a loose smile as the boy was gently picked up and placed on his knee.
“ hmn … I okay. But daddy and mommy are angry at me. I broke my clothes so got in trouble again. “ Yusuke spoke between sniffles and deep breaths still greatly upset over what had happened hours ago. Whilst damaging clothes by a small amount was never a big deal and almost expected from children he had been forced to believe it was one of the worst things anyone could do. His gaze shifted towards the floor in a way scared that even the uncle would be angry at him for it. But there was no anger. Barely a word from Goemon as the man just silently stared down purely in shock by it all. Killing such people seemed like an option yet that would inevitably cause a great amount of stress as well as fear for the family member. In the end his actions would be the exact same as the ones who originally caused all this pain.
    “ no need to be upset over that now. Eventually all clothing sustains tears or just gets dirty at some point. Even I am not free from that never occurring. “ Whether he was lying or not Goemon wanted the child , that deserved much better than the hell he had been forced to live in , to not be crying or shivering in fear for at the bare minimum the week he’s currently back within the household. If that included making himself seem like a complete idiot at times or that perhaps he was not as strong as Yusuke believed him to be then that would happen. Slowly he got onto his feet still holding onto the other with an arm , keeping them as close as possible before heading out the small room to stand almost immediately within the garden. Why the child was almost forced to remain away from everyone was a great mystery that in no way made sense no matter how he tried to look at it. A cold room with only a bed , clothing and required basics to not really be an issue to some but that was it. Nothing to aid a child to learn , to have fun like others his age. Sometimes the question of if there was any good type of human contact for Yusuke was on the man’s mind. It just felt like only when he rarely was able to visit that there was actual good treatment in his life.
“ come on. Let us get some food outside this place. Then we can have a little walk for a while. “ Yusuke had perked up , looking at the samurai with the smallest of smiles and gently with the palm of his hands attempted to wipe a few of the tears. Spending time with just Goemon even if it was a short amount always would be his favourite thing.

Ideas for Shadows of the Phantom thieves
So I’ve been replaying Persona 5 A LOT in anticipation for Royal coming out next year. So I’ve been thinking a lot about what P5 would have been like if it had went the P4 route of having the main group going against their own personal shadows. I’ve seen a few ideas swimming around but I thought I’d share my own ideas on what the shadows of the P5 cast would have been like. Some of the themes they all have is that these shadows would be distortion forced on the cast by the world around them. They aren’t like P4 shadows where the cast has to learn to accept their shadows as a part of themselves but rather realize that the shadows isn’t their true self and that its just a distortion. They are also are all based around the seven deadly sins. It kind of bothers me that most of the palaces in p5 are just loosely based on the seven deadly sins. Really only Kamoshida, and shido fit their sins for me. Madarame is supposed to be vanity which isn’t even a capitol sin anymore and just redundant with pride. Kaneshiro is supposed to gluttony but with the bank theme he fits greed better. Likewise Okumura is supposed to be greed but he runs a food company so gluttony would have fit better. Sae isn’t so much envious of anyone as she is obsessed with winning. So I’ll be making each shadow more overtly themed around the sins.
The first palace would be Ryuji’s representing the sin of wrath. It would be a ship lost as sea in the middle of a storm, representing his electric element. His shadow in the captain of the ship, a blood thirsty pirate obsessed with pillaging and causing destruction. The shadow would have a peg leg representing Ryuji’s broken leg, and an eye patch with a skull and crossbones on it. As you go through the palace you’ll have to dodge cannon fire, and lightning strikes. The boss would be similar to an early concept of Captain Kidd, with the upper body trapped in a cage with a blade in its mouth. The peg leg has become a cannon and will fire at its ultimate attack. After the battle Ryuji confronts the shadow, saying even thought he acted in anger when he hit Kamoshida, he’s not the thug everyone has painted him to be. He might be mad, but he’ll aim that anger at the people who deserve it and not just thrash around hurting the people around him. Ryuji then rips the eyepatch off the shadow and the shadow becomes Captain Kidd and the eye patch becoming Ryuji’s mask.
 The next palace would be Ann’s representing the sin of lust. The palace is a brothel with Ann’s shadow as the Madam of the house. The shadow wears a low cut dress and a large leopard spotted furcoat with a cigarette holder, think Cruella De Vil. The shadow also wears a lace and silk mask. The shadow is very flirtatious and makes claims that her body “is yours to take”.  When you go through the palace you’ll meet the cognition of Shiho, who is the shadow’s “best girl”. The shadow throws Shiho to costumers of the brothel so she doesn’t have to get her hands dirty. The shadow accuses Ann of doing the same with the real Shiho, throwing her to Kamoshida so she wouldn’t have to “give up the goods”. The boss form would be of Carmen’s main body tied to the same post Kamoshida had Ann tied to. Roses and thorns cover her body like a revealing dress and she can summon “gentlemen” to assist her in battle. After she’s defeated Ann confronts the shadow and acknowledges that what happened to her and Shiho isn’t her fault. Her appearance is not an excuse for the way Kamoshida treated them, and she certainly didn’t abandon Shiho. Her body is hers and she’ll do with as she pleases. She rips the silk mask off the shadow, allowing the Shadow to become Carmen, and the silk mask turns into Ann’s.
 The next palace is Yusuke’s representing greed. His palace is a museum ,very similar to Madarame’s except where Madarame’s museum was flashy and gaudy Yusukes is broken down and filthy. The windows are broken and open to the cold so as you go through the palace you’ll have to be careful of being blown away but gust of wind and frozen from the cold. Yusuke’s shadow is a shogun like Madarame’s but his make up is run down by tears. The shadow is stuck in artist rut and spends its time trying to make art. It doesn’t do this for the sake of art, but it wants income. It is desperate to cover the windows and to block out the cold but any art it tries to produce is meaningless and poorly crafted. The boss form is the portrait of Yusuke Madarame had in his palace but Yusuke’s face is stuck in the face of The Scream by Edvarch Munch. Yusuke confronts the shadow and his fear that he’ll lose sight of why he became an artist. While he may struggle to support himself he will persevere and continue to pursue true beauty in his art. He wipes the make-up off the Shadow with his hand and the shadow becomes Goemon, and the make-up on his palm becomes his mask.
Next palace is Makoto’s representing Envy. Makoto palace is a train station with her as station master. She wears a uniform and pair of tinted glasses. Despite the title, Makoto’s shadow has no control over anything that happens in the station. The trains depart without her approval and she has no choice but to follow the predetermined schedule. She is envious of the thieves who are free to come and go as they please. She feels much like a train. Impressive in its own right, but stuck on a track she can never escape from. The boss form is that of demon train with Johana’s face enraged and blindfolded. Makoto faces the shadow and vows that she will no longer allow others to control the path of her life but will decide it for herself. She takes the glasses from the shadow and crushes them in her hands. The shadow becomes Johana and the broken glasses become Makoto’s mask.
Next is Futaba’s palace representing Sloth. This one remains relatively the same only Futaba’s shadow is much more hostile. Her design now has more bandages like a mummy with them covering her face leaving only her eyes exposed. The shadow is now the distortion of Futaba’s memories and fully believes she’s responsible for her mother’s death. She wishes to just lie down and rot away, to be left to die in her tomb. Instead of fighting Futaba’s cognition of her mother, you fight the shadow. It takes the form of a large sarcophagus with a gargoyle face, and tentacles trying to push themselves out from the edge. Futaba confronts her shadow after the battle and it plays out much the same as in the original. She unwraps the bandages from her shadow’s face and the shadow becomes Necronomicon and the bandages become Futaba’s mask.
Next is Haru’s palace representing gluttony. The palace is a wedding venue being held in a giant wedding cake. You’ll have to make your way up the stacks of the cake to face Haru’s shadow who is the bride at the top. Haru’s shadow wears a wedding dress with a veil covering her face. Haru’s shadow sees herself not as bride, but as a gift to the groom. She exists to be given away and she’s fine with that so long as she can indulge in the pleasures her life gives her, even if that pleasure comes at the expense of her father’s workers. The bride gorges on wedding cake and ignores the cries of the workers and guest who suffer at the hands of her father and betrothed. The boss form is giant empty wedding dress bound in ribbons and bows like a gift. Since the dress is empty, there is no head instead a large ribbon. When Haru confronts the shadow she vows to not ignore her father’s corruption, or to allow herself to be used as a bargaining chip. She tears the veil away from the bride and it becomes Milady and the veil becomes her mask.
Last is Morgana representing pride. Since Morgana was created in Mementos it serves as his palace so to speak. When you reach the beginning of the end of Mementos, a yellow eye morgana is waiting for you. It reveals that Morgana is not a human but, as it puts it, a creature born within Mementos. Morgana is unable to handle the idea that he’s some creature, a beastly thing with no semblance of humanity. His pride won’t allow him to accept it. He pleads that he has to be human. He tries to summon Zorro to destroy the other Morgana but Zorro loses control and begins to shift and change. It takes the form a large black tiger with velvet blue stripes. It is chained around the neck and guards the gates to the depths of Mementos. The thieves manage to defeat it and Morgana reclaims his memory finally. He manages to find peace with his existent, not human, but not some wild creature either. The beast shift back into Zorro, but then immediately becomes Mercurius.    
So those are my ideas for the shadows of the phantom thieves. The protagonist doesn’t get one as ,like with P4’s protagonist and Adachi, I feel the role of the protagonist’s “shadow” goes to Akechi as he represents a lot of the opposites to Joker. But what do you guys think?
