Snippet from Kaz's eventual seduction of Matthias, as part of the Key-ring fics I have going ~
Kaz’s gaze locked with his, “Oh?”
“I was thinking,” Matthias ran his hand up his partner’s thigh, sliding under the fabric on his hips and through the other side of it. His underwear bulged with Matthias’s intrusion, the heat of Kaz’s skin like a blessing on Matthias’s palm, “I was wondering why your eyes had hypnotized me so easily. No demon before you had much luck in tempting me, but for some reason I'm willing to fall to my knees for whatever your shark’s gaze commands of me. I tried so hard to hate you, and here you are. The object of my fantasies. How did you do it?”
Matthias turned his hand, tugging lightly at the hem of the black fabric in his way. A wordless question, but one he wanted to ask all the same. They were going at Kaz’s pace and only his. Matthias would lose more than just his sanity if even a single sour note tainted this moment between them, he wanted to make sure Kaz felt all the power he had right now. Plus, it was impolite to assume.
His skin was soft. Much softer than Matthias had expected. It felt downy smooth against the calluses on his knuckles. He had known Kaz was pale, but seeing it under the curl of his coat collar was much different then seeing it displayed before him so openly. Matthias could see the entirety of his partner's ruddy blush, from the dip of his navel to the creeping climb up his neck until it reached the curves of his ears.
Kaz looked to the side, and only then did Matthias realize what it meant. Kaz was blushing. Before he could comment on it, Kaz looked back at him, “Truthfully?”
Matthias nodded slowly.
“I dunno,” Kaz shrugged, biting his lip, “But I could tell you didn’t belong there. When I saw you in your cell, I just… wanted to get you free. Whatever it took.”
His words were jarringly kind for how willing he was to believe Matthias would do him in only moments before. Kaz Brekker was like that, though. He was an abandoned well, full of jagged rocks and sharp heights only to house a soothing pool of spring water at the bottom. Though Matthias had not fallen with the intention of ever landing, he had still been surprised at how safe he felt in Kaz’s depths. Mayhaps because he was a good swimmer.
Matthias pressed another soft kiss at the crux of Kaz’s groin, where his thigh met his hips and… lower. That forbidden heat between his legs. Or, no. It wasn’t forbidden, especially not when Matthias was about to put his mouth on it. And Kaz had seemed very eager about that if the state of his underclothes were to be believed. The crotch was sopping wet, so close to Matthias’s face now that he almost felt like he could taste it if he just parted his lips a bit. And then he remembered that, well, that was exactly what his goal was. To taste. So Matthias leaned forward and licked a long stripe up Kaz’s clothed cunt. His boss gasped loudly, body trembling like he had been dunked in ice water without warning.
And fuck, Matthias had to dart a hand under himself to strangle his cock, because the wretched thing almost came at the sound. It played in Matthias’s head over again, breathy in his ear like a whisper. Matthias dug his tongue in further, unable to resist as the taste of Kaz flooded his mouth. It was tangy, sweet and heady with lust. It also tasted of soap, slightly, as everything was muffled by the cotton of Kaz’s panties. The bland taste of cloth suddenly became the most frustrating barrier Matthias had ever encountered. He tugged impatiently at the fabric again, requesting permission to get them off. As beautiful as Kaz looked in them, they had become more of a hindrance than anything else.
Kaz swore, sinking a naked hand into Matthias’s hair and yanking just shy of too hard, “Fuck, just take them off already.”
That was all the permission Matthias needed, and he pulled them down without a second thought.

half the fandom: wylans such an innocent baby!! lil kid!!! aww he's like kaz's son, precious little cinnamon roll :3
other half of the fandom: no!!!!! stop mischaracterizing him!!! he's not soft at all >:((( he's the complete opposite of that!!!
please. stop. neither one is right.
I don't usually like to get controversial but here we go:
wylan isn't a soft little cinnamon roll, but he isn't as malicious as some people make him out to be. people always seem to forget that he is somewhat innocent (at the beginning of soc). and that's not a bad thing! even though he's been through a lot, he hasnt killed anyone yet and isnt used to life in the barrel. he changes throughout the series and grows as a character, but cant be defined as either "innocent" or "immoral". at times he can be soft and at times he can be cruel, but thats what gives his character depth and makes him interesting. wylan is a complex, multifaceted character, and I'm sick of the fandom misinterpreting him.

excuse me i'm just going to just copy/paste some rambling i sent on discord and call it a post. this is loooonnggg and kinda incoherent
stupid self indulgence is stupid but sometimes i think about an au where half way through his second year at HPA, Kokichi decides to drop out because he can't keep up with the image he made for himself. like he spends a whole year and a half being the asshole class clown of the class, but this is on top of having nearly dropped out of his previous school (hc: military adjacent) because they didn't like him there either due to his differing ideals for what a leader looks like. he's human and despite being very good at covering up his pain, there's still only so much he can take, so when he finally reaches that breaking point he drops out of HPA and just goes home
he told no one at HPA, just one day he was there and the next he's gone and never comes back again. he spends his time at home doing more with his families, both DICE and blood, as well as trying to find himself a job that doesn't suck major balls. he's lowkey depressed that he gave up so hard on his dream of becoming the best leader he could possibly be, but the road to it he'd been carving was insanely self destructive because he by nature can't follow the rules.
i can just kinda imagine the conversation he had with his parents about it before dropping out. his explanation is; 1) he isn't being taught new things on how to be a leader because HPA expects him to just figure it out on his own with the tools they give him. 2) he can't get but one person in the whole school to actually follow his lead (Gonta) and he thinks he's far too nice of a person to be dragged around like that. 3) because of his paranoia no one there really likes him so he's constantly fighting with people and digging his hole deeper- which he fully take credit for, he knows it's his fault- and if he were to ever stop no one would believe him at this point and it wouldn't change how they see him. 4) he's doing all of this just for a little paper that says he's the former ult leader, but really what the fuck kind of job would accept a vague ass title like that- and even if they did how many would his leadership actually be fit for?
to him, he's failed his mission to become the greatest leader, and he knows it's he himself who's to blame. DICE also can't last forever because while they may remain friends, they'll all grow up and get their own jobs they gotta focus on, some have already, and what little leadership he has to his name will fizzle away into weekend hangouts. he decides maybe he can go to a collage instead to get a degree in something he's good at, maybe a few different ones- just rummage through his bag of skills till he finds something that works. i really really like thinking about Kokichi's self image and how it affects how he handles being outside of HPA
i imagine he'd still have contact with only two people in total from HPA; Miu and Kaz (Kaz makes sense in my hcs i swear). Shuichi ended up finding out about what had happened to Kokichi from Miu and decided to try and get into contact with him again, which surprised the hell out of Kokichi because he thought Shuichi would be one of the people glad to see him gone- what with all the headaches and bullshit he put him through. little did he know- Shuichi's just as stubborn as he is……. and also he fell hard for him but that's totally beside the point
this is mostly about Kokichi's struggle, Shuichi prying his way back into his life is just a very pleasant bonus that makes Kokichi's life a little less hell. forces him to learn to open up to people again, something he failed to do with anyone at hpa in this au. the last time he opened up to someone that wasn't already in his close circle was when he was 16 and saved what would later become the final member of DICE, many got close but something usually stopped it before he could fully open up, making him want to open up even less
Shuichi's new. he stubborn, and really patient with him, and refuses to leave but doesn't push either. he's just there, waiting for him. he's not trying to forcefully help Kokichi better his life, but he's also not leaving him alone. he makes sure Kokichi knows he's always there for him, even if he doesn't take his help, so Kokichi can't just block him out like he tried before. luring him like a spicy kitten, he's got support, but Kokichi's gotta make an effort himself. the only thing Shuichi really ever makes any effort to push a little is trying to get Kokichi to come back to HPA, saying it's strange without him there and many people actually miss him despite what he thinks they think of him
i think it'd be wholesome if Kokichi decided to come back for the final year after both spending the last half his second year and the whole summer trying to fix his shit, and getting into contact with Kirigiri to confirm that yes he's allowed to come back without having to make up the lost time- if Rantaro can be gone half the year on trips Kokichi can be gone half a year for mental health.
actually imagine from the class's pov: half way through the year the chaos clown vanishes and it's not until like a month later everyone finds out via Miu and Shuichi that he's gone for good, then you spend the remainder of the year without him and it feels really off without his presence and some people kinda realize they didn't hate him as much as they thought, then finally you start your final year at HPA and THE CLOWN'S BACK!! but he's not the same, like some serious shit happened to him while he was gone and he's clearly not the same guy anymore… or he is, but you've never seen this side of him before, and he seems to be nervous to share it with everyone. he's the same, but totally different. he's still pranking people and telling jokes, but there's something broken and nervous there. he still lies but they're played more as jokes instead of the vile front they were before, and there's a noticeable decrease in their quantity. it's still Kokichi, but unlike before you cannot almost mistake him for a sunday cartoon villain in behavior- it's just too real, too lived, too human
but it really depends and i can see him not going back despite Shuichi's pleas too, im just a sap and i like the healthy wholesome stuff where he gets better instead of sulking in a puddle of depression
also not as important but if you want Kokichi can tell Shuichi he'll agree to come back to HPA if Shuichi pulls his shit together- ie; my hc Shuichi also has masking issues where he pretends to be a highly agreeable people pleaser and bottles all his anger and lets himself be a pushover, and Kokichi knows this so he only makes the deal if Shuichi can better himself the way Kokichi has been. mutual luring into healthier lives. it'd also mean Shuichi comes back from summer break a bit different as well and continues to become more different over the year
okay i'm done now

AHHH i saw that you write for metal gear and immediately jumped in the air. Yes the community definitely needs more in the 'x reader' department and it hurts that there isn't much :((
anyways.... i was wondering if you could do a scenario of mgs mens (you can choose whoever, but basics like solid, bb, kaz, ocelot, etc would be nice) reaction to reader asking if they can sit on their lap
can be fem or gn reader, either is fine with me!
best wishes on your journey as a writer! :D
-🌻
thanks so much :3 !!!!! yeah the internet is so barren of any metal gear content at all it hurts my heart sooo much
i love this!! i think there’s a really wide variety of reactions to this, it’s super versatile, great prompt :P
metal gear men + lap sitting
not proofread. just running on pure instinct here
slightly suggestive content, but no actual nsfw. mostly fluff
with big boss(not venom), he’s not particularly bothered by the idea. it’s definitely not the kind of thing he’d suggest on his own, but he knows you have needs too, and he’s willing to do whatever it is that you want to satisfy you. what good is there in being the greatest soldier the world has ever seen if he can’t take care of his lover?
i also think that over time, he starts to initiate it on his own(with your permission, of course) he’s the kind of partner that remembers what you enjoy, especially if you bring it up directly, rather than him picking it up on his own. not going to lie, i also think he finds it a bit amusing when you first ask him, but he won’t really tease you about it. he doesn’t know what a normal relationship is like, he’s never really had that, so he keeps his mouth shut. i also think a little part of him, deep down, craves it. out of love, for sure, but he’s definitely the type to get a little lusty after a little too much closeness, y’know? just saying, you’re probably going to end up in a compromising situation after sitting on his lap.
solid snake is overjoyed. i just know he loves like a dog. i bet that he was even trying to work up the courage to ask you, but ended up not pulling through because he has too much pride, even though he cherishes you more than anything else. he’s about to be doing it every chance he gets. he just has to protect his beloved partner, and of course, that entails holding you in his lap. he doesn’t really see anything sexual about it, he just wants to be near you at all times. you can rest assured that after you ask, he’s going to be the one asking for you to sit in his lap. you’ll never have to ask again, because he needs you around like he needs air to breathe. it just makes his heart swell when you ask him. his heart is full, despite how stoic he likes to act.
ocelot fancies the idea, but the bastard would only let you do it while he’s working or something. you don’t know why. maybe it’s because he likes it when you get annoyed at him for not paying attention. he just can’t help it. he thinks you’re so much fun when you’re agitated. after all, a little bit of anger always makes for a better time later in the bedroom. he obviously enjoys it when you sit on his lap any time, but he’s a bit of a sadist. he likes to see you “earn” it. how do you earn it? by somehow managing to put up with his teasing. ocelot loves to tease, and it’s no secret. he’ll push you until you’re immune to his antics, but once you learn, he treats you like royalty.
kaz is more than happy to indulge, although he knows things probably won’t last long. similarly to big boss, you can expect kaz to want more from this. kaz likes to be all rough and commanding out in the open, but behind closed doors, he’s a completely separate person to you. he’s kind of what i imagine as a golden retriever boyfriend. (except only in private. he’s got soldiers to command, silly. sorry, he can’t go around coddling you :(( and i’m not just saying this because of his immaculate golden locks) honestly, i can see kaz being a little bit shy about it, i feel like there’s a part of his character that is hidden deep within him, like a part of him just wants to give someone everything. so when you ask if you can sit in his lap, he agrees, but he’s going to get restless soon if you don’t calm him down. that’s just how he is. pretty silly of him if you ask me
i’m trying to get back into writing now so this was really fun! also i think i want to do a second part. maybe featuring mgs2 raiden, liquid, venom, and maybe one of our nerds otacon or huey. :p
thanks 🌻!!!!

poor kaz man, his whole life is full of pain and suffering my goat is just simply trying to survive. also ironic how kaz is a dick to everyone and yet he also committed the least amount of crimes.
also when will people on r/Tekken or YouTube comments or Death Battle fans stop comparing my other goat sasuke uchiha to fucking jin. even as a kid i found that comparison so stupid. jin and sasuke have almost nothing in common except for the hairstyle. Sasuke's backstory is more similar to Kazuya's or Yoshimitsu's (losing Manji/Uchiha clan, his family being killed by his own family member who he used to trust, being abused/tortured as a child). Sasuke loves his clan and his powers and Sasuke is proud of his power, while Jin hates the Mishima and his Devil Gene. Also yeah both Kaz and Sasuke committed a few war crimes, but they never actually STARTED the war in the first place.
EXACTLY
Like I'm never going to defend Kazuya's actions - there's still some things he's done (like killing off all the G-Corp scientists), but to compare him and Jin and say Kazuya's the villain and he's the issue is just so... Stupid.
Like, the key difference between Jin and Kazuya is how they handle their Devil Gene. Jin had problems with keeping it hidden, Kazuya basically got fuzed with it when he came back from the dead.
Jin started World War 3 because he was having a temper tantrum, essentially. He killed innocent people. You know what Kazuya did? TRIED FIGHTING AGAINST HIM. Until 8 where he's "trying to finish what Jin started", but it ISN'T KAZUYA. It's DEVIL. THE WHOLE GAME IS DEVIL, HOW MANY TIMES HAS HE TURNED INTO DEVIL. OR JUN TALKS ABOUT HOW SHE WANTS HER HUSBAND BACK AND IS TRYING TO EXPEL DEVIL.
As for Sasuke, I don't really watch Naruto but I completely get it - Sasuke would make more sense to be compared to Yoshimitsu, in my opinion.
Kazuya and Sasuke almost have the same KIND of backstory, not the same - they handle it differently. While Sasuke loves his power, Kazuya only "embraced" it more against his will and learned to "accept" it, aka let it take him over. Sasuke loves his clan, while Kazuya's proud of himself and the name he's made for himself - and his grandfather, Jinpachi. But I don't think he exactly LOVES the Mishima clan. I think he's content with their history and the Zaibatsu, but Heihachi is a dick bag who he wants dead. As for the Hachijo clan (Kazumi - his mother's clan) he doesn't know much about them and is never associated with the clan.
But yes, neither of them started the war, Kazuya's trying to "finish" it in 8, because the Devil Gene has taken him over, but I need people to understand this... MOST. *MOST*, OF KAZUYA'S ACTIONS ARE. NOT. HIM. IT'S EITHER DEVIL OR PUSHED ONTO HIM BY THE DEVIL GENE. THE ONLY ACTIONS HE HIMSELF HAVE COMMITTED ARE THE G-CORP SCIENTISTS DEATHS, AND KILLING HEIHACHI, OR TRYING TO FIGHT JIN.
#tekken#kazuya mishima#jin kazama#tekken 8#tekken 6#heihachi mishima#idk how to tag sasuke#sasuke uchiha#i think is his name ?

Day 22? Day 22, flirty
Lookie, I made a background! This piece has caused me trouble, and I'm not fully happy with the end result but I'm still so proud of it!
I'm not happy in the sense that it's not what I envisioned in terms of shading, lighting, rendering, yada yada yada, but I'm so proud of myself regardless because I've got a ways to go with this medium (but also i got lazy and its been three[four] days.) (>◇<)/ I prefer my traditional art but it just wasn't coming out the way I wanted! First I couldn't find decent references so I fused two pictures of myself, made the sketch on Ibis, tried recreating it on paper but in the end I got frustrated and I liked the digital sketch so! This is the end product :3
Anyways back to the boys, I wanted Fuyuhiko to be the one holding Kaz's chin, but I like seeing Fuyuhiko blush so please, accept the alt
I think it's so cute when people blush and their ears turn red <3
This piece is super indulgent for me. All of my art is indulgent but still! Here's my headcanon for it: Kazuichi would be more nervous to initiate touch at the beginning of their relationship, mostly for fear of crossing a boundary, so Fuyuhiko ends up being the one to initiate hand-holding, do a side hug or place his hand on Kaz's waist to encourage cuddling, any of the standard 'couple' or 'romantic' gestures. It wouldn't take too long for Kazuichi to find the confidence to be more affectionate but since they'd likely keep their relationship hidden for a while, any PDA that can't be passed off as regular, friendly interactions are off-limits.
Which means they'd wait to be 100% alone in private to be affectionate, so this would take place a year or more later, when they're out and give less of a dam. Kazuichi would be more touchy but not exactly flirty, and when he does attempt to, it falls a little flat from either his awkwardness or lack of confidence. So the times he does flirt successfully are very impactful. As for Fuyuhiko, he also isn't super flirtatious by nature but he's got more confidence to pull it off. And Kazuichi is a bit more easily flustered by words than Fuyuhiko is, so most of what the blonde says to Kazuichi ends up with him blushing and feeling fuzzy. But that's my personal headcanon, what about you? :v

omg hi i never realised i wasnt following you, i was wodering if you could do something with kaz brekker (romantic) /crows (plationic) where reader is mattias's sister and they met her and its really angsty like shes a new recruit for the fjerdian girl in the menengrie and inej sees her
and i love your writing so much!! you were the first kaz brekker fanfiction i ever read <3
Brandy- K.B x platonic! crows x matthias' sister! reader
First off, thank you so much for sending this in! I am so sorry it's taken me so long--I've been demotivated and only started getting into a kind of rhythm again recently!
On another note: the kaz brekker part of the fic is more implied to come later on than right as the fic takes place because the reader goes through a lot and having a romantic subplot just BOOM RIGHT THERE didn't feel right to me in the writing process
Fic type- this is some heavy angst that leads into hurt/comfort
Warnings- this one is a heavier fic--trafficking and rape are mentioned. The scenes wherein the reader is taken and put onto the slavers ship is depicted but not in too graphic detail (it's described as being knocked unconscious and blindfolded before being loaded onto a boat. The room that the reader ends up in isn't described in too heavy detail either, but there are mentions that the food the reader got came at random and their access to sunlight was restricted), theres a lot of discussion of death and a couple of mentions of strangulation--I've edited this but still might have missed a thing or two so feel free to tell me just in case.
You'd left Fjerda in search of your brother a solid eight months after he'd disappeared, when the letters you'd exchanged while he was in Druskelle training ceased and hadn't come in for that duration. You'd initially gone to the Druskelle--Jarl Brum, the Druskelle your brother had mentioned by name in the letters you'd exchanged. They'd all told you he'd been dead, but you didn't believe it.
So, you kept your ears open, and when you heard of a Fjerdan going to trial for involvement in the slave trade in Ketterdam, your instincts set you off on a boat to Ketterdam to find out if it was him, thinking that it could go two ways.
Either the first way, which was that it was Matthias and he'd been a shitty person for getting involved with the slave trade, or the second.
He was dead, the person on the slave trading charges was someone different, and you had lodgings in Ketterdam booked for a months stay before you headed back to your beloved country of ice and snow that would turn out to be pointless.
But you never did get to Ketterdam.
At least not on the boat you'd booked a ticket for. The night before you were to leave, the tavern you'd been drinking warmed brandy in was raided by slave traders. You were knocked unconscious, blind folded, and loaded onto a boat.
In the time thereafter, you spent no less than a week in a dodgy room, eating and drinking when your slavers deemed it a good enough time.
You were allowed sunlight only when you were taken to Tante Heleen, auctioned off to her and then forced by her to sign a contract in a language you hardly understood, as you'd barely been learning Kerch for six months by then. She'd grinned at you when you signed though she made it clear that you could not walk out of the room without doing so, and to even attempt it would result either in your death or her grabbing your hand and forcing you to sign the contract in a way that made the forcing seem much more obvious than it was.
As you were taken to the Menagerie, she'd grinned at you again. She'd asked where you were from, and when you told her that you were Fjerdan, her eyes had lit up.
"Oh, I've needed a new wolf! My men have been excellent to me this day, little wolf, and you shall reap the benefits!"
You got to the Menagerie and were given a tattoo on your wrist, silvery furs to wear and the natural color of your hair was tailored away in favor of a platinum blonde.
There were golden bars on the window of your room and each night, rather than sleeping, you looked through them. You watched the sun as it set and you watched the people blunder from one pleasure house to the next.
You cried whenever Heleen would introduce you to a client at first, but crying warranted a beating, so you stopped after the first month and a half. You took to crying when you were alone, thanking Heleen for every meal you got and hoping, hoping your indenture decreased by the minute.
But then, one night, as you were people watching, you caught sight of a girl on the roof of the building across from you. Your eyes widened as she met your gaze, pleading, desperate.
Get me out of here, you thought. Get me out. Please, get me out. Make this madness end.
Her gaze hardened and you thought you'd mistaken her for someone who could've sympathized with you, but then she rolled up her sleeve and you saw a patch of scarring. It looked almost like a botched tattoo removal, and as much made you confused.
But you didn't have time to question it. She was there one second, gone running and jumping across rooftops the next. You wondered if you'd ever see her again, hoped that you did. If the marks she'd showed you were any consolation, you had at least one person to rely on and that moment, a solid six or so months since you'd been taken to Ketterdam, even one person to rely on meant the world.
-
It had been two months since Inej had seen you that first time. Two months of plotting, planning, and it was all coming to a head that morning.
"Tante," Inej greeted on the first morning of autumn. "I am in need of one of the girls you keep here. She's Fjerdan."
"You walk into my enclosure," Tante said, gesturing at it all as she sat behind her desk. "Knowing that you, too, were once indentured here? I can have you indentured here again just as easily, my little lynx. What do you require of my little wolf?"
"If you try to kidnap me again, there is a sharpshooter ready to aim and fire at you within a split seconds notice," she said. "There is a very angry ex-Druskelle standing outside the front door, along with a heartrender, a bombs expert, and a someone so good at cards he can control any hand he wants. Let me see the girl or so help me, I will stab myself and make it seem from the sharpshooters perspective that you are doing it, and you will lose your life right here in this parlor, in front of all of your girls and all of the rapists that you call clientele."
At that, Tante showed a second of pause before turning to one of her men and nodding. "Unlock her door," she said. "Tell the little wolf that the lynx has come to visit. I can grant you fifteen minutes, Mrs. Ghafa."
Inej nodded. That was enough. It had to be enough.
Enough time for Tante to busy herself when Matthias came in posing as a client, for Nina and Kaz to sneak in through a back entrance and steal your indenture contract right from her desk, swap it with a contract that held both your signature and her own but had different wording, and make it back to the front, where the three of them were meant to be waiting while Wylan smoked a cigarette--a fake, one with chamomile and lavender in the filter--and tried his damndest to look casual.
She followed the man to your room, tried not to feel her heart break when she watched you flinch before she showed herself from behind his back.
Carefully, Inej slipped a knife out from her forearm--Sankta Alina--and pressed it against the mans back.
"You report that flinch to Tante and I will find you and cut you in two," she whispered. "You are actively participating in the trafficking of innocent girls. I understand that this is the Barrel, but I guarantee there are less vile crimes to commit. I would reccomend you find something better unless the last thing you fancy a sight of is my knife plunging into your chest."
The man gave a single nod and left the room, standing guard outside the door.
"Who are you?" You asked. "I wasn't informed anyone would be visiting, let alone the girl who's been watching me like a hawk since I hit the six month mark of being indentured here."
"My name is Inej Ghafa," she said. "I showed you the spot where my tattoo used to be--I was the Suli Lynx before Kaz bought out my indenture and I started working for the Dregs. I assume that your name is Y/N Helvar?"
"I have been Tante Heleens precious little wolf since I got here," you said. "I need to leave--I've been trying to figure out how, but I just can't figure it out for the life of me."
"Matthias is downstairs now, pretending to be a client very interested in owning a share of the business," Inej said. "Kaz and Nina are currently doing a grab and swap--they've managed to forge a contract and your signature based off of old job contracts you signed while in Fjerda. It'll hold up to scrutiny and at worst, look like Tante Heleen made a mistake. The contract they'll replace with the one they burn later will say that your indenture was set at a finite amount that's decreased rather than increasing since you were brought here."
"Has it not been?" You asked. "My Kerch wasn't great when I first got here--it's definitely gotten better since, I will say--but I thought that it had been decreasing. The decrease was what I'd been hinging my hope on."
"Tante writes them so that the cost of the indenture increases," Inej said. "You would've been stuck here--but our time is limited. I've only got fifteen minutes before I'm gone. Tante will call you down no less than ten after I've left, and you'll meet a guy who is all sharp edges and rough cuts--his name is Kaz Brekker, and he's someone you can trust, Y/N. I promise."
You stepped forward, hesitant, and Inej pulled you into a hug, using the hug as an excuse to tuck a knife into your furs.
"I understand hesitancy to kill," she said. "But if maiming, in the least, is necessary, I can pray to your Fjerdan saints with you later. We can ask that you get forgiveness for doing harm to those who have done worse to you."
"Did--did you say Matthias?" You asked. "I'm sorry--it's just that a lot has been thrown at me today. Matthias as in Helvar?"
"Yeah," Inej said, smiling at you as she puled away from the hug. You had tears in your eyes. "He's alive, Y/N, and he thought you were dead from the Ice Court heist onward, but he's relieved you aren't."
You wanted to cry, but of happiness or sadness, you didn't know.
Inej didn't say much of anything during the rest of her time, just sat with you on your bed, your hands locked together, until her time was up and the man who stood guard outside your door knocked to let you know that your time with her was done.
She left with tears in her eyes, remembering a time where she looked and felt just as helpless as you did.
-
Fifteen minutes later, you were being called down to the parlor. You followed a guard down the stairs, and when you caught sight of the person Inej had described--all sharp edges, rough cuts--you forced yourself to meet his gaze briefly. He was the one shot you had at getting out. His plan had to have worked or you would've died while stuck working as a slave to Heleen.
Next to him stood Matthias.
"Do you know this person?" Tante asked, gesturing to the one beside whom your brother stood.
"I do," you said, hoping that the lie was convincing enough. "I do know him."
"And do you know his business partner?" Tante asked. You glanced at your brother. He had murder in his gaze, and he kept it focused on the woman who'd been holding you in the hostage that was your indenture.
"Yes," you said. "His name is Matthias Helvar. His associate is called Kaz Brekker."
"See?" Kaz asked. "Old friends, she and I, and if I am to remember it correctly, she told me that you told her her indenture would be out with the start of fall. Today is the first day of the season."
"Her contract says otherwise," Tante said. "And I said no such things to her--Y/N, did I?"
"You did," you said, hopefully going along with the plan that was in place. "You said I'd only be here for eight months. It has been eight months, Tante."
"Must've been an error," she said, glaring at you. You stepped back in your fear and like the protective brother he tended to be, Matthias stepped forward.
Kaz glared at him as Tante pulled your contract from her desk.
"Does the contract say as we claim?" Matthias asked. "Y/Ns signature should be on it. As should yours."
Tante glowered at Kaz. "Whatever you've done, this fake will not hold up to close scrutiny."
At that, Kaz shrugged. "I've not done a bloody thing, Ms. Heleen. Perhaps you were drunk in the contract writeup, decided to take pity on one of your girls?"
"I was sober as a cow," she said. "But--fine. You win for now."
"You will give Y/N to us immediately," Matthias said. Kaz nodded, affirming the words.
"She is to be under the protection of the Dregs," Kaz said. "Any attempt on her life is as good as an attempt on mine, and I will make you pay for it. It will cost you more than all of the indentures of the girls here combined, Ms. Heleen."
"Fine," she said. "Take my little wolf away from me."
You stepped toward Matthias.
"You have a good day, Tante," Kaz said. The three of you made a beeline for the exit, and Inej gave you her hand. She let you lean on her in the walk from the Menagerie to the Slat, where Nina gave you clothes to change into and toiletries to shower.
You showered, washed eight months of grime and dirt and the general feeling of disgust off of yourself in the forty five minutes it took to get most of it. The feeling of disgust, the extreme disdain, the pain that you carried, were things that you were sure could not be washed away with a simple shower.
The outfitting you'd been given had been a dress that was flowy and did not adhere to every part of your body. It was black and stopped just a bit above your ankles. There was a dip in the neckline but nothing that would have anybody looking, and sleeves that stopped at your elbows.
Along with it, you were given an old cardigan, a pair of appropriate socks, and brand new combat boots, good for giving anyone a kick where it hurt the most if need be.
You headed to the bottom floor of the Slat, thanked Nina as you found her amidst the chaos and decided to lean against a wall rather than sitting down.
Matthias brought you a glass of brandy, and that was all it took.
"I'm sorry," he said. "I'm sorry it took me so long."
You took a sip of the brandy. "It's not your fault," you said. "I was going to come to Ketterdam to look for you--I couldn't believe you'd died--and the tavern I was in the night before I left was overtaken. I was put on a slavers ship and sold to Tante. None of that is on you, Matthias."
"You came looking for me," he said. "So, therefore, it's my fault."
"No," you said. "It's not. It's the fault of the slavers, the captain and crew of that boat, and Tante Heleen. You and I are blameless."
"But--"
"I was trafficked, Matthias," you said. "I was sold to a woman who indentured me to servitude. I was raped. None of that is your burden to bear, and if you start bearing it I will cut off one of your fingers."
You took a sip of your brandy.
As much as you loved your brother, you knew that a meaningful conversation was not likely to start until you both had time to think. Matthias was at the stage of it wherein he blamed himself. You had long grown past that, and the shame you felt because of it had transformed in two different cycles--first, desperation to get out of the Menagerie, and second, anger at Tante Heleen and those involved with your capture and sale.
"Matthias, dear," the one called Nina called out to him. "Wylan thinks that an espresso martini is better than bourbon. Discuss."
You shot her a grateful look. She nodded at you and for a moment you almost thought she understood.
"I've gotten into contact with a tailor," Kaz said. You took a sip of your brandy. "Inejs removal was botched, but Matthias forked over the kruge if you want it removed."
"You said that I am to be under the protection of the Dregs," you said. "A gang, as is obvious now, but what does that protection mean, in no uncertain terms?"
"It means exactly what it says on the tin. You are protected by us, Y/N. I can't promise you safety, nor happiness or health in the Barrel, but I can at least promise you that. Inej already seems like she'd fight tooth and nail to keep you alive, and she is the best ally you can have in these parts."
"Might it also mean a job?" You asked. "I have nothing, Kaz. People home probably think I'm dead. I wanted a fresh start terribly when I was in Fjerda, so this might just be my best bet."
Kaz nodded. "Your first shift at the Crow Club is in two days time, and a room in the Slat is free. I'll have the current bartender teach you how to make a couple of decent drinks, and provided I see any other ways in which you might prove to be an asset, you'll join us on the jobs that make us rich. You don't need to take up the crow and cup if you don't want to--I am sure you've had enough of tattoos for a lifetime."
You nodded. "Thank you."
"You could still die," Kaz said. "Your death was a likely thing in the Menagerie--I saw one Karl Van Houden on your list of clients? He killed two of the girls in other brothels city wide--and it's just as likely outside of it."
"If I die in these streets, I am dying with my dignity," you said. "In the Menagerie, I would've died without it, strangled by a client who hated the fact that I was crying. Dying with your dignity intact, you'll find, makes a world of difference."
Kaz shrugged. "I will be taking your word for it," he said.
You shook your head as he walked away, grinned at Inej as you noticed her approaching.
"How are you doing?"
"I've been worse," you said with a shrug. "I've been without brandy and good music. Definitely worse."
Inej grinned, took your free hand in hers and gave it a squeeze. "Does it hurt?" She asked. "The pain of accepting all of it. Are you okay?"
"It burns in my chest when I think about it too long," you said. "I just--I think about Heleen and I want to set the Menagerie on fire. I hate it. I hate her. I don't know how to deal with this."
"And you won't figure out the right way for a bit," Inej said. "It varies for everyone. You just come to a point where--you accept that what happened happened, that sometimes, good people are subjected to terrible things and the people who subjected them to those things just go on living in places like this one. It does get easier with time, though you never feel like it will."
"Thank you," you said. "For rescuing me. For giving me council as you have."
Inej shook her head. "I've been trying to convince Kaz to let you onto the team since we first made eye contact," she said. "It wasn't an easy feat until Matthias, Nina, Jesper and Wylan backed me up without knowing any of the real details, and even then, it still took a bit more convincing. Kaz is very selective with the people he lets onto the team, but you'll be a good asset."
"Thank you," you said again. "Seriously. I would've died within those walls, Inej. Thank you for saving me from that."
She walked away, and you glanced at your nearly empty glass of brandy, heading to the bar to get yourself another.
You had your entire future ahead, and you didn't want to think another minute of Tante Heleen, but you did.
You decided you'd get your revenge on her someday, even if it was just a miniscule form of such.

The 3AM Stream Incident
SOOOhbkabgsjf i haven't done something like this in a while, but I just go so inspired over in the discord @majimasleftasscheek with the streamer!kiryu idea that i had to write SOMETHING and i really loved this idea we came up with so here's SOMETHING!!! username cameos are all people from the server!!
if i had to put it somewhere, something post yakuza 3 pre yakuza 4. in order to make money for the orphanage, haruka and the kids introduced him to this streaming thing. he wanted to engage in their interests, and has always enjoyed gaming deep down, the money aspect also helps out a lot. he's formed a relatively decent sized community, but has yet to go viral. the streamers are pretty laid back and the children's identities are protected, but thanks to the younger audience of streaming in general, the chat has taken to calling him 'uncle kaz' like the kids do when they call for him off screen.
this is. short and silly and i didn't go too hard on it, but i hope it's fun!! kazumaji implied cause it will be with everything i write.
Kiryu doesn't stream off schedule, not often at least. Life gets in the way sometimes, but he's never done this before. It's quiet in the orphanage, he doesn't want to disturb the kids... but he also can't sleep. Not actually worth anything, at least. It's another all nighter, one that hopefully he can recover from while the kids are at school tomorrow. Today. If there's one thing he's thinking about this isn't the various people haunting him... It's Pocket Circuit LIVE. He figures that was something more productive to be doing than just laying here.
His steps are quiet as he makes his way into the small room that had been built in the rebuilding process of Morning Glory. This room was even in the process of being sound proofed, a gift from Daigo that was hard to refuse. With the door shut, he could be a bit more comfortable with his movements.
Hopefully, not too many people in the chatroom are up either. He thinks he remembers hearing talk about finals during these months. Still, it'd be worth going live, people liked him for his ''chill vibes'' and ''comforting streams''. There was always a twinge of a pride even he knew was a bit goofy, compared to the other things he was proud of. Perhaps he could help them sleep, much like a bed time story... But to the sound of Pocket Circuit LIVE dailies.
When Kiryu hits the 'go live' button, he skips through his starting soon screen, going straight to his face cam and gameplay set up. As the game boots up, a bit slower than usual from having to do it while he's live, the first few messages start to pop up
macthedragon: ayo cosmomemory: ??? tabbitha44: damn this game got you by the throat uncle kaz
"Good evening, chatroom." Kiryu smiles at the messages, the exhaustion painfully clear in his eyes he's sure. "I'm surprised other people are up at this hour. I can't sleep, and I can be quiet during this game to not wake the kids. So long as I don't pull." He adds the addendum before anyone in chat could mention that.
Through his months of doing this, he's learned that many of these 'stream chatrooms' have a sort of 'culture' to them. Each streamer has a different kind of audience they cater to, but many share a back and forth dynamic with their 'chatroom'. It was more work than he had ever realized, it was an interesting new world he had begun to discover.
The motions now are practiced and fluid. Daily missions were a walk in the park. Use a new wheel, win a race without a balance frame, win a race with a golem tiger. As the races began to blend, Kiryu quietly talks with his delayed chatroom, "I don't think I'll be streaming tomorrow, I'll announce on my social media platforms in the morning if I will or won't."
aquaortus: twitter. you can say twitter looneyzune: be nice to him, he's not wrong
Kiryu knew full well he could say 'Twitter', but people seemed to like his antiquated way of saying things as much as it grated on them. It was much like with the children in the orphanage, in that way. The chat was significantly slower, but that was nice for him. He didn't directly talked to them, more so just began saying how his day was, it had been a nice day off, he just might need another.
esutonia: take all the time you need uncle kaz cosmomemory: we all could use one i think looneyzune: you deserve the time off, uncle kaz! macthedragon: please don't say you're leaving to get milk- aquaortus: going to sleep to this stream, gnight everyone
It was nice to see the messages of comfort in the corner of his eye, even as they began to talk amidst each other other than just with him. Of course, he quietly wished the viewers going to bed good night, which ended up being a few of them when an hour had passed. Less than 50 people were watching him at that point. There's a few points where he has to quiet down, hearing something shuffling outside of the room, and he has to make sure he didn't wake one of the children. Thankfully, no such incident happens, and he continues on with the quiet stream.
Quiet for a good while, but by hour two, something goes wrong. A name that he had expected to be gone from this stream popped up, marked with a green sword and bright pink text.
gorogorogorochan: Kiryu-chan what the fuck is this shit looneyzune: uh oh esutonia: SCATTER brahkest: uncle majima moment! it's so over
"M-Majima-!" Kiryu jumped at seeing that familiar name, the chatroom having a similar reaction. He looked to the door, knowing he was a good while away in a hotel, yes, but like he could be there at any moment. "I just couldn't sleep, so... Why am I not surprised you're up at this hour too." He truly should have expected this. "I'll only go for another hour. You should get some rest."
He looks at his quest list. Dailies are done, but weeklies are nearing completion. He could go ahead and knock those out now if he's going to take a break soon. Kiryu gets to it, settling back into the rhythm of the game he found so addicting.
gorogorogorochan: Are ya fuckin' kiddin' me gorogorogorochan: TEN MINUTES mrbeefgnaw: oh rip uncle kaz tabbitha44: h u h cosmomemory: it's so over looneyzune: ...has he noticed looneyzune: uncle kaz are you with us
With chat going so slow due to so few people, now less than 20, Kiryu didn't notice it. Pocket Circuit LIVE was too temping. He keeps good on his promise to not pull, but ten minutes have gone by without him really saying a word. He was both too tired and too engrossed in the menial yet fun activities of his favorite pass time.
brahkest: TIME IS UP: UNLEASE THE HOUNDS tabbitha44: what did he Mean by this macthedragon: he never realized omg.....
The questions as to what he had meant didn't go unanswered for long. Kiryu looked over at the chatroom, finally seeing the sudden activity, "Chatroom, did something-" And is cut off by the door to his room swinging open. It just barely is held back from slamming by a tired, haggard, and ticked off looking Majima. He blinks in surprise at his sudden appearance, standing up and taking the same headphones the man had gifted him off his head, "Majima? What are you-"
The next moment, Majima is charging him.
Kiryu barely manages to understand whats happening in the mere second he's given before Majima's long legs get him across the room. He's still taken to the ground in the next second, but he knows not to start fighting back by then. All the camera sees in a yellow and black blur, and then Kiryu going out of frame.
brahkest: UNCLE MAJIMA MOMENT!!!! mrbeefgnaw: oh rip lol looneyzune: UFBKSD cosmomemory: JHDFKSDG macthedragon: HJDKFJDFHLD tabbitha44: LMAOOOO estunia: JHFKDSFKESJB
The last thing the stream sees is a gloved hand slapping around on the table to find the keyboard, and when it's found, the stream is shut off.

Afk Wilder Hcs
(ft. Eironn, Lyca, Bryon, Lorsan, Solise, Florabelle, and Parisa)
(Small Ira and Kaz mention)
---------------------------------------------------
◇ Eironn is the oldest of the group. Oldest to Youngest: Eironn, Lyca, Bryon, and Lorsan.
◇ Eironn can play kazoo sounds out of a leaf somehow
◇ Bryon has a huge crush on Lorsan but thinks it's unrequited because Lorsan spent 3 years away from him and never really answered his messages through the wind
◇ Meanwhile, Lorsan was either panicking on what to say or was too busy focusing on Bryon's voice. That's why Lorsan only ever sent one word, "acknowledged"
◇ Lyca is an astrology girl. The stars guide me, she says. Determines what's best for her based on her zodiac sign /hj
◇ Lyca and Eironn are allies, but Eironn is the clueless one while Lyca is more knowledgeable about it
◇ Eironn once told Bryon and Florabelle that the two of them should date because they're both gay. Lyca had to correct him while Florabelle and Bryon chuckled at his misconception. Eironn is confused but got the spirit
◇ Lyca is the mom of the group. She cooks/bakes for everyone. Kaz and Ira jokingly call her mom
◇ Bryon is partially blind. Ignoring Canon because they should've gone with his original lore
◇ Lorsan is a poet. He can also sing beautifully. He sang to get free food when he first arrived at Holistone
◇ Florabelle gives Parisa flowers to wear on her head, but Parisa likes to stick with one flower most of the time
◇Parisa lends Eironn advice on romance after seeing Eironn braid Lyca's hair in a certain way. Braiding hair is a form of romantic confession with Elves
◇ Solise and Florabelle became friends through Lyca. Florabelle likes to tease her shy nature a lot. They bond through flowers
◇ Lyca is glad those two became friends. That way- Florabelle would be busy teasing Solise instead of her
◇ Parisa has also befriended Solise, but through Florabelle, and adores her talent of talking to flowers
◇ Florabelle invites Parisa and Solise over for gardening and tea. Lyca sometimes joins
◇ Bryon unintentionally scares off kids. He also scares some adults away because of his intimidating aura
◇ Eironn comes off as rude because of his straightforwardness, making it hard for him to make friends. He's only trying to be honest because he feels there's no need to sugarcoat anything
◇ Eironn and Bryon became friends over animals. Bryon has more animal friends, and Eironn saves animals. The two would run around searching for any injured creatures and bring them to the Lucent Tree
◇ Lorsan tries to flirt with women to prove that he can be just as charming as Bryon but fails miserably
◇ Lyca and Solise are albino
---------------------------------------------------
That's a wrap-up for now 😭
Lowkey starting to ship Florabelle and Solise because Solise is a Flower Whisperer, and Florabelle is flower themed. Too bad, Solise isn't in Afk Journey, but I can be delusional and make up hcs for this crackpair
Edit: Florabelle x Solise x Parisa 👀? I can go for separate Solise x Florabelle, Solise x Parisa, and Florabelle x Solise
Read Parisa's wiki that she used to spend most of her time with flowers 🌸🌼

Ay yo you're cooking again????!!!!! Could I request a younger, fem s/o being an absolute aggressive, kind and funny crackhead with the kids at morning glory, and Kiryu slowly going crazy for her, pwease? (I genuinely like them kids buuuut...y'know, it's more about that FOINE dragon of dojimeme😩✋) like, she treats them more like adults (shoves them in a race and stuff, not a single care) and she's secretly in love with their uncle Kaz, Haruka's probably the only one to notice that between 'em, and Kiryu's too much of a himbo to realize she loves him too.
Not that FOINE dragon of dojimeme!!! BAHAHAHA but of course we can do this, I really like the Yakuza kiddos and all their interactions in Yakuza 3 especially.
You and Kiryu meet by total accident. You'll probably just be on the beach and run into the kids playing a game. You somehow end up joining said game and when Kiryu calls them in for dinner, to his surprise there's a fully grown adult rolling around on the sand with all of his kids.
It kind of just continues like that for a while, with Kiryu just assuming you're a particularly friendly neighbor. He's cautious about adults being near the kids so he might seem offputting at first but eventually you're just part of the gang, so to speak.
At first, Kiryu is worried the boys are roughousing too much when they play with you, only for him to realize almost immediately that you roughhouse right back. Unlike Kiryu, you're also someone who REALLY plays, down to the last detail. It's one of the things he first admires about you is how you're able to get on the same level as the kids in a way that he's yet to master.
Soon you'll start coming over for dinner every so often. Kiryu might also run into you at the front gate escorting the kids home from school, casually chatting with them about your day. Kiryu doesn't really get jealous but he wishes he could really do literally everything for the kids and it pangs him whenever he realizes you're filling a void for them that he might not have noticed.
Haruka is the most self sufficient of the kids and has known Kiryu the longest so she's the one that takes the longest to get very close to you. Once she does, it really solidifies your prescence in Kiryu's life. After all, if you're important to Haruka, you're important to him.
What started as a few innocent games with local kids has turned quickly into a quasi-familial situation, much to your surprise as much as Kiryu's. Of course, Kiryu grows to appreciate your help. Managing so many kids can be a real handful... soon enough, there's some nights where you find yourself sitting next to him on the front porch, exhausted but happy, chatting casually long after all the kids have fallen asleep.
Keen as always, Haruka is the first to pick up on the mildest hint of romance, long before you even realize you have more than just platonic feelings for your neighborhood orphanage owner. Haruka would never go out of her way to force a relationship between the two of you but you can't help but notice her smile or even giggle a little when she catches you talking to Kiryu all alone.
You may be in denial at first, but it's impossible to ignore the fact that the two of you together look like quite the portrait of a happy couple, especially when all the kids are around. Your effect isn't lost on Kiryu either. Had someone told him a year ago he'd be grinning ear to ear at the mere sight of another person just sharing a space with him, he'd have scoffed. Yet here he is, smiling as he waves at you running around the beach with the kids in tow.
Kiryu may be oblivious at first but enough nights of mulling on his feelings all by his lonesome eventually leads him to the delightful yet frightening conclusion that he's feeling something for you that he hasn't felt for anyone in a long time. Unfortunately, he's also painfully aware that romance isn't his forte and doesn't tend to end well for him.
At the same time, he's not the same dragon he once was. This isn't Tokyo or the Tojo Clan. This is just him and you and the kids and the beach. So maybe his hesitation isn't merited here. Maybe for once, the time is just right for something like this.
Goodness knows Haruka is hoping he decides to take that leap of faith. She doesn't know if she can continue to handle the romantic tension between you two! Or if she can keep from spilling the beans about how the two of you feel about each other any longer.

I had this idea in mind for awhile now
but
Ultra Despair Girls (Boys) AU w/ Soudam
Kazuichi would be Komaru/the protagonist here, he isn't a Remnant of Despair here like Gundham due to unfortunate circumstances prior the tragedy :v
He is also using the megaphone Komaru uses in-game as his weapon, though he still kinda sucks at aiming lol
Gundham is still a Remnant of Despair and a deuteragonist like Toko. He would rather use his animals to attack enemies, but wouldn't mind a physical battle against his opponent either. He knows he'll come up on top either way.
There will definitely be changes to the plot, but I feel like their relationship will be like Tokomaru in-game :3
I like the way you think dear kazuichiswrench.
I have an AU that’s different to this, but has the same idea. But let’s go with yours!
Kazuichi awakens in a small apartment - the standard 1 bedroom, half bath and kitchenette. He’s taken everything electronic apart to pass the time lol, but also to create something to get out cause he’s claustrophobic asf and this small space ain’t it.
Cue him escaping when the doors unlock and running headfirst into danger lol Since it’s a slightly different AU, I’m gonna change it slightly and have Sakura save Kaz the first time. Byakuya is there, but Sakura is making him behave ™️
My theory is, is that they found Kazuichi and had him securely locked away in the same building with the other people who Junko threatened to kill in the first motive, up his door locked from the outside. He leave the Future Foundatiom to look for his friends and sees that the world has actually ended.
After the helicopter crashes, the story stays the same - he’s captured by the Warriors of Hope and made to play their “game”. I’ll add though, for my own personal reasons, that he gets freaked out seeing Nagito and tries to talk to him, but Nagito is too lost in the Despair to even notice him. Kazuichi feels deeply depressed by this and also angry but he can’t say a lot. When he encounters Gundham on the ground, it is during the Monokuma ambush, but Gundham finds it more thrilling to attack a “specter from the past”
Gundham thinks Kazuichi is a ghost or a demon sent to haunt for his sins until he can defeat him. Kazuichi has to fight him before he concedes, but it’s not an easy fight, what with his scaredy-cat cat nature making his aim unsteady and him not actually wanting to fight him. But he wins and Gundham forces himself into the adventure. He’s assured that Kazuichi will fail and fall into delight despair and wants to see the descent first hand, but he won’t help unless the mechanic is near death.
spoiler for anyone who hasn’t played or watched play throughs of Ultra Despair Girls
I like to imagine that when Nagito tries to kill Kazuichi, Gundham goes all out berserker and actually breaks the wrist of Junko’s stolen arm and before he can kill him, Kazuichi tackles him to the ground and while messy crying, he just confesses to him. And even though it doesn’t completely break the brainwashing - this ain’t Disney lol - it does make Gundham start to begin the process, making half of Junko brainwash and half of himself again.

we never stop
oc monday~
original post
1. What is the most ridiculous fear [x] has?
mat: his fears are actually all entirely rational and it's incredibly likely that all of them will come true, especially if he's on the verge of tears about it. he'll catastrophize into all kinds of stupid shit. mat looks back at panic attacks and goes "holy shit that was insane what the fuck" and will laugh about it. until it happens again then that shit is real as fuck
kaz: kaz is basically unbothered by most shit so listing out his fears is just making a symptom list for his inevitable major depressive disorder/cptsd diagnosis
2. How many meals was [x] raised to expect in a day? How many do they actually eat?
mat: 3. he sticks to that. snacks were a weird sometimes allowance he was never sure if he would get in trouble for. he eats pretty normally now though
kaz: well he was TOLD 3, but in practice his mom was gone a lot and it was kind of on him to enforce that. he'd skip meals pretty often if he had to make it himself bc he didn't want to cost money. his friends would feed him extra garbage they had at school though so he didn't get too fucked up by this neurosis. he still eats kind of weird, like he usually just has one big meal a day and then snacks on little shit as he goes (esp if he's at work, at the bakery this is easy, at the club he's drunk. alcohol is calories it's fine) having someone else to cook for at least makes him cook things worth eating (jaimie, but also mat sometimes)
3. What are five things [x] likes?
mat: frogs, the smell new electronics give off, cake, espresso, bright CMY colors
kaz: orange sodium lights, walking around when the sun is just starting to come up and it's a little chilly and the world seems still asleep, menthol cigarettes, loud music, house sparrows
4. Has [x] recovered from any illnesses that are considered life-threatening, in their world?
mat: nope, he's been fine
kaz: alcohol poisoning
5. Is [x] tall, short, or average for their species or culture?
mat: he's 5'8, so pretty bog standard
kaz: 5'11, on the taller side
6. How much does [x] sleep, versus how much they'd like to sleep?
mat: he sleeps about as much as he wants to tbh, though he's basically never expereinced a normal cycle. he's fine on his 2 hour chunks spread out over 8 hours
kaz: he sleeps either too little or too much. with work, it's like 5 hours tops, without, he's "catching up" with like 11. he'd like to sleep normally bc he's honestly built for it, but circumstances and mental illness fuck with that
7. Does [x] have any piercings?
mat: no, he is as a newborn babe
kaz: well, you've seen him. i'll list em out though: right eyebrow, lower left lip, lobes stretched to a half inch. right ear: industrial, two lower cartilage hoops. left ear: 3 upper cartilage (usually two studs w balls or spikes and one hoop) and two lower hoops. retired piercings: tongue, nips (lasted a single week, lost one and it closed immediately and he looked at the one that was fine and was like "that's fucking stupid." and took it out), left ear rook (ouch owie, got infected). he's thought about dick piercings but he'd have to stop fucking for it to heal and it just isn't worth it

completing the trilogy of asks by asking about thoughts on mr bibo :)
This was genuinely such a difficult one for me to answer, and I'll get into why. I've thought about him a bunch, but a lot of the time it kind of lacks coherent conclusions. He's such an interesting character.
First impression
I liked him a lot. He is so fun in mgs3, I really really like his hug with Eva, and his interactions with others. He's so snarky and funny, he is easy to like, that's the whole point. I love how 3 is made too, its style is so cool.
Impression now
Fuck that guy (mostly because I love Kaz Miller so much and I have to be angry on his behalf. it's the law). But also knowing even the little we get from Snake Eater about how he was before The Boss's death, he makes me so fucking sad. He is a victim of a system, he is lonely, and he doesn't view himself as a person past her death, and I'm not sure if he really did before. I feel like I don't understand him that well, while I have specific thoughts or at least headcanons about some other characters, bb is a bit of a mystery to me. I don't think anyone aside from maybe Joy and briefly Kaz ever understood him or got close to him, and I don't think he understood himself most of the time either. He seems like the type to be very detached from his own emotions past her death, like he is a lot more complex than Ocelot in his logic and what he does and how he processes things, and I don't quite even know why. I love him a lot, but also. fuck him you know.
Favorite moment
I'll have to rewatch peace walker at some point but probably everything that has to do with the AI pod. The implications of his scar and its reveal, the conversation before Strangelove tortures him. Basically, most of pw. Also all the silly and fun codec stuff from 3, and the ending. First encounter also!!! I love all of it so much okay I can't choose.
Idea for a story
I briefly thought about a time travel thing where he gets to experience Snake Eater again and tries to save The Boss. He isn't usually the shining star of my ideas, mostly if he's in tandem with Kaz. I had an idea for a silly the office-style comedy fic about them reuniting in FOXHOUND and having to work together.
Unpopular opinion
Is Ocelot's feeling for him being unrequited unpopular? I feel like I've seen it a bunch, but I don't think anything else comes to mind. Maybe also bb not being an experienced daddy dom or whatever because that is NOT him and I see that simetimes. Though I think it's more just people having fun, which, nothing against either way, but to me that is an aroace man and he does not care <- I say that about every other character uh
Favorite relationship
Him and The Boss. It's such a devoted relationship that we see mainly the aftermath of, but it's the start and end of it all. Also I really enjoy his banter in calls/tapes with the mgs3 crew and peace walker cast, and it's interesting to think about what thy got up to when they worked together. Him and Kaz also have. such a history. I had a first encounter analysis somewhere, I should finish it at some point.
Favorite headcanon
Not that he necessarily isn't grateful when people sacrifice themselves for him, but that he kind of takes it for granted. Even if The Boss didn't go easy on him with her training, he still had a reputation of being a student of the world's best soldier. And I feel like that might have gotten into his head. He knows that he has that effect on people, and for him it's just how things are. I like the idea of the scar on his chest being Ocelot's work, as per bb's request, and I might have even written a fic about it wink wink.
I feel like I have a lot more to say about him, I definitely do, but I've been putting off answering the ask for a few days already. Not that I feel that I don't get him per se, more that there are too many interpretations to choose from, and I haven't settled on the one I find the most "right" (to me/my taste/whatever), so that's what you get for now!

Some Kazuya stans really strike me as the type to justify Kaz's actions but when it comes to Jin he's the real villain or something bc he started the war, therefore Kaz "isn't as bad". We all know the terrible damage Tek 6 did to Jin's character yet it's like they fail to acknowledge that. And then they say Jin has no care for anyone, when the entirety of the games say otherwise (I hope that with 8 the Jin slander will be less). They do not know Jin as well as their fave and it shows
This exactly! The thing with Jin is that we had quite a few games to know what his character was before Tek6. He didn't transition like Kaz where he was the protag in one game, then a villain in the rest. No, Jin was a protag in all his appearances up until Tek6, then he's the protag again in Tek8. SO, that's to take into consideration as to why Jin's the current protagonist, and why Jin fans feel a certain way.
When Kazuya kills people, kidnaps people and coerces them into doing jobs, smuggles animals and other illegal things, do inhumane experimentation on animals... it's okay because he was influenced by the devil. But if a fan dare suggests that maybe T8 could retcon T6 by saying Jin was taken over by the devil, then it's "NOPE, NOPE!! JIN WAS IN FULL CONTROL. HE DID THOSE EVIL ACTIONS ALL ON HIS OWN. HE IS IRREDEEMABLE!" When Kazuya kills the G-Corp employees, it's okay because they tried to kill him and therefore they were the evil ones. (Even if not all of t hem were bad). When Jin tries to kill Heihachi and Kazuya for being evil pieces of shits, then that was EVIDENCE that Jin was "evil" all along because a protagonist would never kill anyone no matter how evil they are. When Kazuya kills Heihachi, it's a good thing because Heihachi was evil. When Kazuya continues the war and conquers nations and kills innocents, it's okay because... Jin did it first, so Kaz isn't as bad????? That, or they just straight up ignore Kazuya's actions like that Reddit post did by essentially insinuating that Kazuya has only ever opposed Jin and Heihachi LMAO.
Also actively ignoring all the tragedy Jin went through, too. They'll never bring up how Jin was literally abused and then murdered by Heihachi - no, Kazuya endured that as a child, so it doesn't matter if Jin endured it as a teenager because abuse doesn't affect you once you're that old. Or, how, unlike Kaz, Jin refuses to give into his devil because he doesn't want to go down a dark path.
And like. If Jin doesn't care about anyone making him the True Bad Guy... then what about Kazuya? Kazuya has only been shown to care about 3 people in the series. His grandfather, Jun, and his mother. That's it. (Maaybe Bruce? But I'm unsure). So, what makes either of them "better" in this aspect?
I think the funniest thing is, these fans don't wanna buy that "Jin is good" just because the game told them so (Tek8) but they will quickly eat up "Jin is bad" just because the game told them so (Tek6) despite how Jin being bad makes as little sense as him suddenly being good again. Like the writing is atrocious, yet they pick one atrocious writing over the other.
I AM hoping Tek8 will clear up the slander a bit. I think it will if it writes Jin well enough, which... it's already doing imo. The only bad thing we see so far is the story often bringing up Tek6 again to Remind Everyone. But who knows, we'll see once the game comes out - maybe they'll do something good with it. But regardless, I think the slander will become less. Just because when fans see Jin being Good and actually Caring and not like his Tek6 self, many ppl (especially new fans) will forget about Tek6. Especially when they compare Tek8 Jin to the other Tek games that aren't 6.
Finally, I just don't really understand it. Like a character can be your fav, and you can even wish they were the protag or want to see them be redeem. But actively putting down a character just to prop them up, all while ignoring that your fav has done just as bad of actions. Like yeah, I do acknowledge what Jin did in 6, and no, canonically, I don't really think he can be fully redeemed unless they retcon it. However, I still acknowledge 6 was poorly written and Jin was obviously out of character when comparing him to his behavior in other games. I still acknowledge that Jin being a villain was a creative difference amongst the director and writers, with the writers being the one who didn't want to make Jin a villain, because obviously that's redundant and not the point of the character. And on my blog, I just write the story differently so that it's more coherent with the characters and their motives, by saying the Devil did it, and not the human. But in the end, I'm still not denying what happened, and I'm not gonna go on a discussion board acting like my headcanons are Truth.

Perithon! thoughts:
So, I watched that episode again. Here's the rundown:
The terms of the race are deceptively simple. 1. No intertribal conflict 2. No flying, Mugic, or attacks. 3. Stay on the course. It's never clarified what precisely counts as "intertribal conflict," so acts of poor sportsmanship might be considered debatable violations as it's ambiguous whether it's motivated by individual competitiveness or tribal bias.
There were 6 overt violations of the terms outlined by Najarin. Vinta and Tannoi cooperated with the attempt to sabotage the non-Mipedian racers, Opto using a hypnotic attack on Blazier, Ulmar trying to brain blast Prantix, Olkiex taking a shortcut through Underworld City, Aureban launching an attack at Olkiex, and Chargola and Dardemus burrow a shortcut through Underworld City (though that could have been Kaz and Peyton, depending on when exactly the switch took place).
There were 11 "debatable" violations, mainly regarding general lack of sportsmanship between racers (bumping into each other on purpose, using mechanisms on the vehicles on each other, etc.) that may or may not be tribally motivated, as well as external interference from non-racers. I'm also including Peyton and Kaz's entire involvement in the race, because it's not clarified who is and isn't allowed to participate, outside of the vague implication by Odu-bathax that the wording of the unspoken rules specifically refers to Creatures.
I think the only Creature that didn't either wreck his vehicle, get wrecked by someone else, or explicitly break Najarin's rules was Blazier. And even then, that's sketchy because he was taunting his non-Overworld fellow racers left and right.
For some reason they didn't account for the fact that the racers might need to be rescued? I know Perim doesn't have OSHA, but damn, Chaor was totally cool with people dying for the race.
Honestly, it's a dumb episode, and I think it was mainly included to promote new cards and reset the status quo of the series, because the writers or executives thought writing about a post-war peacetime would be too boring or challenging.
It would have made more sense to have members of different tribes form teams to build and pilot the vehicles, if they really wanted to do a race for this. They can cooperate fine in brigades, it's just when you have them competing that they fall into old habits.

🦖 and 🎁? :3c
🦖 - is your system fictive-heavy? factive-heavy? neutral?
There's seven of us, and the only one who isn't a fictive is me (Pale), and I have four fictotypes to make up for it. South's the only one who has a fictotype that isn't his source.
The weird thing is what part of the story they're pulled from when they show up. Al's relatively modern, he remembers all of his kids; but South showed up pretty much right on the tail end of the Holy War, centuries before Al had more than one kid.
It was fifty-fifty with Sailor Kaz, either we were getting him as he is post-canon, roughly around DGS3; or we were getting the Masked Disciple and we were going to have to do the 2-3 reveal on the poor guy. Fortunately he showed up as post-canon, although he remembers his kids as preteens, not the adults we know they are by mainline AA. So that's interesting.
🎁 - have you ever bought your alters/headmates things?
These little jerks have made up 95% of our purchases lately. I have sea salt caramel chocolate in my backpack that I have been instructed not to touch because if I eat Al's chocolate he'll kill me. Edgeworth demands blueberry muffins whenever we go to Timmy's. Sailor Kaz apparently chugs chocolate milk like there's no tomorrow. I had to talk Goni out of buying six overpriced shark plushies at the Seattle Aquarium yesterday.
All we ever do is buy things for each other and also TGAA zines. It's just all we do!
[ask game here]
