happy colors-ultimate’s-been-patched day heres a bunch of wisp headcanons
They're born when the Mother Wisp lays pod-like eggs on top of their Planet's trees. After hatching, they stay in the tree until they learn to swim through the air properly; then they float down to the surface to meet all their siblings
When they die, they burst in a miniature rainbow supernova, and their Hyper-go-on (shortened to HgO herein) dissipates for any Wisps nearby to absorb. They usually move to a wide-open space before dying cus the blast will vaporize anything within a 2-foot radius
Most Wisp breeds don’t have mouths because they’re born with all the energy they’ll ever need, and thus don’t have to eat. Jade and Black are the exception because their powers burn up more HgO than the others, so they eat their Planet’s flora to compensate. Nega-Wisps grow mouths in response to losing all their HgO reserves, and suffer hunger pangs despite eating constantly
The Black Arms tried to visit Planet Wisp once. The Mother Wisp swatted their Comet into the next star system
Since some Wisps decided to stay on Ear Mobi Sonic’s world, Tails released his translator program as an app! He named it Yackr :)
G.U.N. offered to sponsor and promote the app, and initially Tails accepted... but then he checked the release version’s code and found tons of spyware. In response he leaked some of their intel to news outlets using his own spyware, then put the original translator's code on Github. (or like... Kithub. get it)
He's also had to make multiple public statements that no, these aliens are not invading like the Black Arms did, in fact Eggman invaded them, please don't bother them they've been through enough
The plant life in densely Wisp-populated areas will mutate to resemble that of their home planet. Grass turns a minty green, tree roots worm themselves above ground, and flowers glow even in daylight.
A disproportionate amount of Jade Wisps have taken residence in Pumpkin Hill and Mystic Mansion for obvious reasons
I can’t find it rn but you know that video of the squid that keeps swimming into a diver’s hand cus it wants to be petted? Yeah Wisps do that too
#sonic the hedgehog#wisps#sonic colors#sonic colors ultimate#mother wisp#planet wisp#me talking#headcanons#sth#colors#wrote this for the games release day but held it back for. reasons#cant wait for yacker to deconfirm all of these in the twitter takeover tomorrow lol

FMP Production Reflection
Wow my final major project and final film at Middlesex University! How crazy to be here at a point where I feel as though I’ve learnt so much in terms of technique and understanding of practice, but simultaneously, I’m existing in my own blissful ignorance surrounding the animated world. This project has really been something. I don’t know why I expected this to be a breeze XD but I’d say it was more like a GAIL FORCE WIND with possible hurricane warnings. Last year I suppose I was in a better situation making my 2nd year film I was excited because I didn’t know what stop motion was really about and I was intrigued. This year I knew what to do, but I felt a lot of the time I was withdrawing from doing it with fears of it not being that outstanding final piece of work I’m supposed to create or even not as experimental as I could be with the resources I have around me. To some extent it felt very safe designing my sets and characters because I knew exactly what I was doing. Maybe that took some of the fun out of it? I think the hardest part of the production phase of my FMP was staying motivated to complete the project. Many cold, hard days in that dark messy room and the funny thing about making an animated film alone is that you have no one else to tell you to work or to keep going. All that time and effort in the dark and emptiness alone is all your willpower and self-motivation to make something because you want to… or because you need to. Why? Because of all the people around you that helped you make this vision in your head reality. See when I no longer wanted to get out of bed and go to this dark room and spend my whole day from 9am to midnight focusing on this project I’d think to myself ‘But what about everyone who’s helped me get to this point?’ That includes my tutors who gave me guidance and support, the talented voice actors like David Holt who’s voice I am gratefully using or even my mum who makes sure at midnight, when I do eventually get home, I’m warm and fed. So, I haven’t given up yet! I’m making the animation and honestly, I’m proud af of where I am right now. Because I’m also tired af. My favourite part of the process has been the set building and puppet-making. Seeing them in my mind and then physically constructing them and putting every little detail onto them has made this experience so rewarding. Setting up my equipment was difficult because there was so much stuff in the space and spatially my organisation was appalling (something I will absolutely mitigate in the future) but I got it done and my experience of the different equipment from working at the kithub made this so much easier. Filming the actual animation was the hardest part because I was constantly distracted by the amazing people around me and events going on and social media, but I really got on with it and tried to manage this by having my schedule and shot list up on the wall which helped me to stay focused and track my progress as I went along. I think if I were able to redo this experience of production, I would re-arrange my schedule as honestly animation always takes so much longer than we think and by being so rigid with my timings I often felt guilty when I hadn’t met deadlines or goals at a certain point, but this is actually normal and it okay to not be on track all the time. The most important thing is that I’m producing quality pieces of work that I’m proud of and that I’m enjoying what I do. After all, what’s the point of any of this if I don’t enjoy myself. I would also prioritise my mental health and taking breaks more. I think at some points sitting alone working in my room exacerbated the already emotionally crushing events I had experienced earlier in the year and potentially I would’ve been able to get out of my own head more and work more efficiently if I’d taken the correct steps to manage all of the stuff zooming around my mind first lol. But even with these considerations I did have a really good time honestly and I would absolutely do it all over again. Bringing ideas to life is the most satisfying creative pursuit.

Discovery of DIY and hand colouring processes for film.
Lately I have made many new discoveries about film and different things I can do with it to manipulate it. Film as a medium may initially seem very limiting however, it is a very easy to manipulate material and with the right knowledge, there are some amazing results to be achieved, once you crack how it really works and the philosophy behind it. It all started when I asked a staff member who specializes in film if he has any long colour sky/cloud shots in his archive that could be of use for the effect I am trying to achieve in the end of my film. After having a look, he wasn't able to find any but he gave me some footage to play around with either way. While playing around with the footage at the university's Steenbeck(which is a guarantee to attract attention), my course leader asked what I was planning to do and I told him about the sky shots that I am looking for. He told me that I could just shoot the sky and get the shots I want in black and white (as that's the only type of film I can develop for free using the universitie's facilities) and then hand tint the film. That gave me inspiration and I started to look around on the internet for sources and which chemicals are used. Initially I didn't find anything exciting so I forgot about that for a few days. While working at The Kithub at Middlesex, I bumped into a staff member from the Photography department who had taken my portrait picture for an interview I gave about a month ago. We spoke for a bit and after telling him what I'm planning to do for this year, he recommended that I look into solarizing photography and the work of Man Ray. He also said he will experiment with solarizing to see if anything worthwhile is achievable with 16mm. I then looked on the internet again into solarizing and all these mysterious techniques that I have never heard of before. I started digging in deeper and I was able to find a beautifully stuning archive of hand tinted and toned films from the early 20th century. Some of these stills are truly gorgeous and some are exactly what I was looking to achieve myself as well. I also found great sources on the chemical process for hand tinting and toning and various formulas and recipes. There was a guide from Eastman Kodak written in 1918 that describes the process in simple words and it's a very valuable source. However after giving it a second thought, I realised that high chances are that a lot of the chemicals used back then to manipulate film are probably deemed unsafe by today's safety standards. I have sent the sources to staff members from the Photography department to have a check themselves but for example, one of the chemicals listed in that guide is uranium ferrocyanide, which I think is supposed to result in a very intense blood red tint. Fortunately, the tutor who specialises in film gave me a much recent source written in 2015 to look at DIY approaches in chemically altering film, including creating one's own silver halide gelatin emulsion to apply on film strips and many other interesting and fun things to play with. I have sent all of the sources I found to the appropriate staff members in the photography department to see what is achievable using the university's facilities. This was a very interesting research deep dive and I discovered many things along the way. I'm sure the deep dive will continue which is really exciting as the possibilities now seem endless. It is also quite cool how I discovered most of these things by talking to people I know and word of mouth. It felt quite organic.

Somehow I'm a little unsatisfied with the animation on this one, I may end up redoing it if I find the time, it didn’t take too long after all I got banned from Kithub for 10 days so since I couldn’t take a camera out I just decided to go digital for this and the push exercise. It was a lot more convenient drawing digitally. Not exactly easier but it was faster.

Cryptocurrency strengthens its roots in mainstream payments with Bitcoin Cash [BCH]
The number of stores which have started accepting Bitcoin Cash [BCH] and a few other cryptocurrencies has increased in the recent times. Five vendors recently started accepting the digital currency, Bitcoin Cash, including a brand new cafe-bar dedicated to 15 cryptocurrencies.
The first on the list is Coins Crypto Cafebar – it is a new cafe-bar inspired by cryptocurrencies and is gearing up to open in Osaka, Japan. Coins cryptocurrency cafe and bar announced earlier this week that its grand opening is scheduled on May 12th. There will also be pre-opening events prior to that date.
The company described the cafe-bar saying:
“The cafe-bar has 23 seats, giving it a spacious feel, it is a place where many people can talk face to face. We have a large selection of foods and original goods based on 15 kinds of cryptocurrencies, and all of the staff have names of virtual currencies”
In addition to fiat and credit cards, the cafe-bar currently listed the following payment options on its website: Bitcoin [BTC], Bitcoin Cash [BCH], Ethereum [ETH], Monacoin [MONA], Lisk [LSK], NEM [XEM] and Litecoin [LTC].
The second company that has started using cryptocurrency as a mode of payment is Safecast. It is an international, volunteer-centered organization devoted to open citizen science for the environment. On Safecast’s website, there are links to products, such as the Safecast environmental monitoring devices including the bGeigie Nano Geiger Counter Kit and the Safecast air quality monitoring kit, that is hosted on Kithub’s website. Kithub accepts BCH and BTC through Bitpay.
An online clothing company has also joined the list – Undertech sells concealed-carry clothing such as shirts, shorts, jackets, vests, legging, purses, holsters, safes, belly bands, and other concealment items. The company recently integrated Coinbase Commerce as a checkout option on the Undertech Undercover website, allowing customers to pay with BCH, BTC, ETH, and LTC.
Goldsilver is yet another company that allows its users to pay in cryptocurrency. It is a website that sells precious metals, founded by Mike Maloney, a precious metals advisor, and author. The site sells gold bars, gold coins, gold jewelry, silver bars, and silver coins. The company recently started accepting BCH and BTC via Bitpay. The company also provides a 3% discount on purchases done using Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.
Goldsilver is not alone, a Japanese jewelry site Rebecca Z, which sells everyday jewelry for working women, is also now accepting BCH and BTC via Bitpay.
The company said:
“We decided to introduce bitcoin payments to simplify payment procedures, this method will allow us to cope with the need to exchange different currencies on e-commerce sites.”

Re:#02 Stopwatch
taichanNE30/kit-stopwatch
kithubというkitのアプリ上げる場所にもあげてあるのでぜひ

Making Your Little Learners Light Up With This STEM Kit
Making Your Little Learners Light Up With This STEM Kit
This sturdy little red tool box of wonders came from KitHub who sponsored this review. Their Future Engineers Kit was perfect for my class of littles with a 5, 7 and 8 year old. Are You Still Looking For the Electrical Tape?
This was me, all of last year. The kids were hunting down crafts and experiments faster than I could log them, but we kept coming up short. Missing parts were keeping us one…
