Hi! I love reading your posts so much so I would like to know your thoughts on this:
https://x.com/smol_kia/status/1550222383075586048?t=1QUT02cleCrXVULBEegSjw&s=19
I saw some of us on X thanking this person for manifesting the toothbrushing scene which was funny but at the same time i am super confused on how jikook really did exactly the same as the fan art (the plaid pyjamas especially)! Do you think this was purely coincidence or one of them saw it and went 'let's make this to reality'?
English is not my first language, so I'm sorry if my ask is all over the place :) love ya!
Let's start with the end here why don't we?
JM and JK are the real thing. They have a real actual relationship unlike the dreamt up needing to lean on made up fanart relationship that Tkks delude themselves JK and Tae have.
That is the starting point.
Jikook are the real deal. A real life long term loving couple. TKK are not. Not a couple. Friends yes. At times closer at times not so much, but always and only friends.
So, let's talk about that fanart. It's from 2022. 22 July 22 to be accurate. I am literally feeling sick to my stomach at the moment, but I will share the photo, cause I'm going to be making a point here.
*At least they kept the JM in place (although they probably are deluded as to it's meaning...).
So, why is the date so important, you may ask.
Because that is the day ITS Friendcation came out.
And guess what we got in that first episode of the show.
Only the four friendliest of friends in their matchy plaid pj's.
Basically what we had was TKK's in their hazed daydreams wishing that instead of Tae sleeping together with his squad, to which a one Jeon Jungkook does not belong no matter how much they want to twist it (same crew that left JK at the ski resort by himself while leaving together), instead of Tae waking up with Wooga and their match plaid pj's and brushing teeth together, it would be JK there with him.
Like I say, dream on.
That fanart of theirs, is a dream not a reality, and they can scream until they are blue in the face, it won't change the fact that the one brushing his teeth with JK at the moment is JM, not Tae, by choice. JK choice. JM's choice. They both wanted it. They both planned it. They both worked towards it. And they are both living it right now.
I find it kind of funny how TKKs keep on screaming that JM and JK's travels are for the camera, not genuine, all for the buck. If that was true, if Jikook were indeed the 'fanservice' couple for BH, if Jikook were a money maker as a unit for the company, how is it that this cash machine has never been properly utilized. It always amuses me to hear this from them all while most of Jikook's interactions are off camera, not for us to intentionally see. This one unit that has never come to fruition officially (until now, and there is a reason for that and a reason why we are getting more now, none of which are them being 'faked' for the camera in order to make money).
I love how they twist everything to fit a constant changing narrative. I actually don't know how they keep up with themselves. It would be so exhausting.
I saw Mina's tweets. Will not share them here. I will not give that hateful ***** a platform here. All I will say is that it must be so very hard for her right now. Reality is hitting and it's hitting hard. I guess it's a last hurrah, an attempt to cling to their fantasy. Basically acting like a belligerent child having a tantrum.
If I didn't loath her and her kind I would actually pity them. They are going to be so very miserable in the upcoming months. Not to mention after they are all back from the military.
I guess these weirdos need to be reminded that JM and JK's Tokyo trip back in 2017 was not for the cameras. A trip eternalized with JK's GCFT, a trip they could not stop talking about, a trip they continued to talk about in their book under the title Real love.
I won't remind them of just how fondly JK was talking about their trip and the show, nor will I bring up that shining sun of a smile he had when JM says he'll hug him later, cause you know, these are basically fans that have no interest in what the idol they supposedly love (yeah, no love there) says or feels. It's about what they, as fans, want to feel dreaming about buff JK the fuckboy, bad boy, man handler and his dainty weak boyfriend Tae (with their love hate toxic jealousy drama filled relationship).
Excuse me for a sec...
I also guess they need to be reminded that not all of JM and JK's time together was filmed, not all of it was for the cameras, as they love to put it. Not in NY, and definitley not in Tokyo 2023. Funny how two people that were working on enlisting together and got to fulfill their wishes and make sure that the 18 months of their military service they are inseparable, even if that means a tougher placement than if they enlisted separately, still wanted to go on these trips together. I think that by now any claim that this was forced on them - the trips, the show, the enlistment - have been long disproved.
And for a couple that the company are 'trying to push on us' it's really funny how silent they have been since their enlistment. But yeah, these people will continue to say what they want because otherwise their dreams are dead. Kind of like Larry's that still think those two are a thing.
You know what else that fanart comes after, btw?
Not only the ITS friendcation, but also after this:
JK directing LGO MV choosing the couples pj's, choosing to have JM walk out of the bathroom brushing his teeth JK waiting for him in the bedroom.
Fanart is art (not that some of the fanart out there would be considered art by myself, but you know, that's a personal taste, or distaste, and that btw includes some Jikook fanart as well). It can replicate or express reality but it can also be an outright fantasy.
In this case it's TKKs seeing the reality (Wooga and Jikook) and expressing fantasy (their ideas or wishes applied onto TKK), lol.
And now we have JM and JK on their trip wearing these couples pj's.
What a blow that must have been for TKKs. And this whole scrambling thing they are doing, that this is "the company" copying their fanart. Absolutely hilarious.
Jikook have shown us over the years that they love plaid. Not gonna add pics here cause there is no end to them. JK, JM alone, together, plaid is something they have been doing. Specifically? Not necessarily. But it's something they wear.
Jikook themselves have worn plaid pj's in the past for LGO MV (and the live as well - do I remind you guys of JK's joke about why he decided to have JM brushing his teeth?). Director JK. Their choice.
The fanart TKKs are squealing about was not an original piece of art that a TKKer came up with. They literally copied the pajamas worn by the Woogas in ITS Friendcation inserting JK into their fantasy.
If people would watch original content they would know that Jikook, both of them, tend not to wear pj's at home. Not around the house and not in bed. We saw JM in ITS 2. We saw JK in his bed live (in which I would love to remind TKKs how flirty and naughty he was with JM all while being half naked in bed, nagging JM to do a live with him, all his choice, all knowing that the company will not be happy with him, lol - still waiting for that Jikook live, you know from the company's "for the cameras" couple). Oh, and we also have the LV live. Yeah, that was an interesting one. Seeing that not only did we hear from JM and Hobi that JM walks around in his undies at home but that JK is in charge of the soundtrack... I guess while he's in his undies as well...(JM's reaction to Hobi's slip up was priceless). Point being that those two don't do clothes for sleep. But clearly they couldn't go 'au natural' for the show, so they chose to wear pj's.
And just like the other clothes that they chose to wear throughout their travels, that we will get to see in the show, they chose to wear these pj's.
Couple pj's.
This is not a photo shoot. This is them coming from home with their own clothes wearing what they want to wear, what they feel comfortable in. And they chose to wear those pj's knowing EXACTLY how it will be perceived.
And just like Wooga chose to wear the plaid pj's, which btw were all identical, like the rings they wear, probably as a symbol of their friendship, all while NO ONE ever dared to claim that they were dressed by stylists or forced into wearing them or that the creators of the show even suggested the idea to them, JM and JK chose to wear these pj's that are not identical but seem to be perceived as couple's pj's.
Pajamas sold out of course, the company's caption at the bottom being: "How about watching the show together in couple pajamas?"
Their choice.
Their decision.
Filming themselves brushing their teeth - their decision.
I want to make something clear here. They have said it and I will repeat it. This is not a scripted show. This is them travelling, experiencing, enjoying themselves (you cannot fake those smiles and giggles), filming themselves. That angle, the camera in the bathroom, that is a camera they placed there, they wanted us to see this just like JK wanted to show us JM brushing his teeth and coming out to him in the bedroom.
Do I remind you what happened when a camera was placed in a room when they didn't want us to see what they were up to?
This is not 2018 anymore. This is 2024 (well, filmed end of 2023, and may I just note that after the new contracts were signed, and I do think this is highly relevant as to what we are going to be getting in this show, what we will be allowed to see, the level of candor). No more hidden cameras in rooms (I think the company had realized that was a dangerous game they were playing at), and their artists control over what will be filmed and what not.
Their choices, their decisions, not some company executive. Them. The two of them.
I will end this by saying that I doubt that Jikook are even aware of this TKK fanart.
But if they were, then this wouldn't be them copying the fanart trying to create the illusion they are a couple.
No need for an illusion when you ARE the real deal.
If, by any chance, they were aware of the fanart then I would say that any connection to it would be them saying a big FUCK YOU to TKKs and their delusions.
But yeah, I do doubt they were even aware of this pic.
JK's search logarithm is Jimin based. Not TKK. So keep dreaming TKKs, cause not only are TKK not the thing you so very much want them to be, the thought of that thing, them as a couple, you as a fan group, your art and fantasies, all those aren't even a blip on JM and JK's radars.

First of all!! Holy guacamole the music for SWC is phenomenal!!! I have some of the songs on my gym playlist they’re perfect for when I workout!!
Secondiy, how long did it take you to make SWC? After playing it I started thinking about making my own game but was curious how the process went for a two person team like yours
Gosh I miss going to the gym ;;! But thank you! In terms of time, we start the project at the end of 2020, but most of the development was between 2022 and the 2024 release. We had full time work still while tinkering away in 2020 - but when we signed with the publisher which allowed us to work on it full time, we were able to expand what the game could be and really focus on it - it would have been a completely different experience had we stayed working with other jobs, that much I'm certain. The process was difficult, and I think especially trying to make something this size our first time around for a commercial project. We did do some game jams in 2021, but that's a different thing all together. They are fun and absolutely worth while to experience a bitesize version of how it feels to finish something, and it may also be a good indicator to see where you might struggle if things become stressful during production (do you try to work till 4 am? Do you avoid the project all together and abandon it? how would you handle people who suddenly can't commit to the project anymore? etc) It's hard work, like, this is the hardest I ever worked on anything in my life - and that's because I really cared about it! But there's so many interconnecting parts, there's so many opportunity for things to break, and when it's all said and done, you have to go through the meat grinder of seeing people struggle with what you've made, dislike parts of it, even if they love it overall that's still hard to see. When your game goes out there, people don't see the developer who's worked 60 work weeks and ate one meal a day in the last three weeks because they didn't have time to eat just to get it done. We are very grateful that people enjoy the game, and I really worry what my mental state would be if the game wasn't received how it has been. Make your own game, but do not make something the size of SWC lol. Not for your first time. And be very realistic about how long it will take, and be extremely realistic about how much work needs to be done. I could write an entire dissertation about what I've learned, what I'd do differently and the whole experience itself - but I can't do that here lol. There are more tools and resources to be able to just get up and make a game - I want you to read this and feel encouraged and feel a fire in your heart burn to make the thing you want to make, but I want you to know it is easy to burn yourself and you must take care of yourself, and you must look out for your health. After the release I was very much thinking "Could I do this again? I don't think I could ever do this again" But there's the drive to want to create and it is hard to extinguish. I hear a few seconds of the Space Channel 5 soundtrack and I'm ready to throw myself to the wolves of gamedev all over again. There are too many worlds in the mind that I must create so that others can occupy them! I must share these worlds, it would be selfish of me not to! So we must be sure to take care of ourselves. If you ever make that game, I wanna see it!!!!

Tag Game
Thanks for tagging me, @ooga-94-booga! <3
Last Song: "Maroon" by Taylor Swift
Favorite Color: I love a pink or a blue! Sometimes also a green. If I'm supposed to wear it, probably blue. If it's out in nature, pink and green.
Currently Watching: I've been watching random videos by a booktuber called Heather McLarry over the past few weeks. But in terms of TV, nothing really? Last month I watched Arcane s2 and rewatched Everything Sucks!
Last Film: at the cinema: Thunderbolts*! At home: a movie called 6 Years. It's a relationship drama starring Taissa Farmiga and Ben Rosenfield. I really enjoyed the acting. I think there's a large improv element to this movie, which I personally liked a lot. I also rewatched Urban Legend (1998) the other day and I had such a good time?? The late 90s slasher movies are so much less gory than the new ones. I rewatched the OG Scream last year, and there's a lot less blood and fewer jump scares in it than in the 2022 one.
Currently Reading: I've slowly been making my way through Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows duology. I've got 30 pages left of Crooked Kingdom. High fantasy is not my favourite genre and more than two POV characters is not really my jam, so it's been a bit slow at times. But I'm still enjoying it. I really like how Inej's backstory is handled. I've also got such a long fanfic TBR that I'll get to at some point I'm sure!
Sweet, Spicy, or Savory: Oh, those are all good! Probably savory, though.
Relationship: Nope!
Current Obsession: I gotta join everyone who said Bishova!
Last Googled: "Leigh Bardugo" (because I wasn't sure I knew how to spell her name)
Current Projects: I've got a one-shot/also-works-as-a-standalone set several months after Brought a Knife to a Gunfight that's (hopefully) in the final editing stages.
I've also got a bunch of ideas/scene scraps for stuff connected to Woman in a Red Dress. Not sure how or if this will work out. But I do have a pretty fleshed out draft for one scene I really like.
Tagging: @dauen, @hrimceald, and @junkshop-disco (if you wanna play), and everyone else who wants to join!

2023: A Year of Connection
Hi everyone!
As I told you last month, this month's "devlog" will be more like an end-of-year recap. For those of you who have known me a while, you'll know that I get ~in my feels~ and Very Nostalgic at the end of the year. And this year is no exception to that.
Looking back on this year, I realize I did much more than I thought I did. The year was filled with so many waves of uncertainty, burnout, and ruts, that I felt like I wasn't accomplishing anything in the moment. Now that the year has actually wrapped up, I can see that was Once Again my imposter syndrome whispering words of sweet nothings into my ears.
In fact, this year, I find that I did Way More than what I did last year. Crazy, considering how busy I remember 2022 being. Let's take a walk down memory lane, shall we?
Writing
If there is one thing this bitch did, it's fucking write LFMASODIJ. For all my complaining this year of routes taking too long, getting creative ruts, etc., I still wrote (what I consider) a Very Good amount. While I may not have hit my writing goals that I had set out, I still ended up writing around 255k words in total this year. Most of this being for Alaris, and some of it being for my dissertation (LOL) and other side games, like Intertwine and Jam Games.
This number also doesn't include deleted passages, edited passages, etc., so the amount I've spent writing, reviewing, etc. was Significant this year. Here's to hoping that momentum continues into next year and finishing the rest of Alaris!
Side Games

Something completely unexpected, but that I'll forever be grateful for, was my decision(s) to join game jams this year. It all started with Otojam, a visual novel jam I'd wanted to join for a WHILE.
Intertwine was, without a doubt, one of my most memorable moments from this year. The friends I made/grew closer to during that jam. The people I connected with because of Intertwine. The people I got to work with. Everything about the experience surpassed my expectations, and Van and Summer 2023 will always hold a very special place in my heart because of it. Thank you to everyone who enjoyed that game. It was my first full game I ever released, and I couldn't have been more nervous about it (no literally. I wasn't sleeping and I was nauseous for a week before release).
Knowing there was no "revision" afterwards that I could hide behind or promise that there would be a "better"/"enhanced" version made the release terrifying. But the reception you all gave to it and support from so many friends made me feel so connected and grateful for the community.
The other three side projects were... well, Unexpected. LOL. Before these jams, I'd never wanted to work in team settings, mostly because I have Mad Imposter Syndrome, and I've always imagined I'd be dead weight in any given game dev team. My skills on writing, art, and/or coding alone aren't "exemplary" enough for me to think I, well, deserve to be on a team. But when a couple of short jams were being held by a friend, and teams were being made filled with other friends, I thought maybe I could help, even if it's just to QA/playtest. But I've walked away from each of these experiences learning so much from other talented people and with very dear friends.
Each of these side games truly tested my chops in terms of writing, narrative design, and coding. But I'm glad I challenged myself to take part in each of these experiences because I've walked away with so much more than I would've expected.
Alaris

My Heart. My Soul. And at times, My Worst Enemy.
As much as I may have talked about how I Wasn't making progress on this baby. I, in fact, made A LOT of progress:
Art: 15 CGs, Updated Sprites, Kickstarter Artwork
Commissions: 20 BGs, Complete GUI, Personality/Affection Indicators, Editing, Voice Acted Lines, Complete OST (8 Tracks!)
Writing: Three Finished Routes
Shipped Kickstarter Merchandise
I'm going to be Real with you all. I'm not in the mood to recap everything for Alaris in the way I did with everything else LAFKMSDFOIJWOEI. Main reason being, I do that Every Month, and at this point, I would feel like I'm repeating myself for no reason. But let me tell you, when the Enhanced Demo comes out, you will see what I'm talking about with progress made. And I'm excited for the next year when I start getting to show things off (read: Demo Release and Route Beta Releases) now that assets have really come together ^^
I will say, thank you for sticking with this project for so long. It's easy to get bogged down in development when a project like this is as big as it is. It's just as easy to think that no one will care about this by the time I release, or people will start losing their patience with me as development goes on. So I'm forever grateful for how kind, supportive, and patient you all are, especially this year <3
Connections: The True Theme of 2023
If you've made it this far, I'm extremely impressed with you. And to reward you, I'll give you a moment of honesty and vulnerability which, to be frank, I Don't Do as a person and especially with my dev persona LMFAOO ((Before I do, let it be known, CW: mention of death, grief, alcoholism, chronic illness, suicidal thoughts))
Something I don't talk about much is that for all of 2022 and most of 2023, I was not in a good place mentally. At the beginning of 2022, I lost three very important people in my life back-to-back (I'm not exaggerating when I say back-to-back it was within 2 weeks, three separate deaths lol). That, on its own, was hard to deal with. But on top of that, I soon found myself having to cope/help with a family member's chronic illness and another family member's mental health (read: alcoholism, suicidality).
While this isn't a particularly unique situation, it was one that I found myself struggling with pretty severely on top of a pretty demanding work life. And it was a situation I found myself in until about midway through this year. Things have lightened up. I navigate a new life with some pretty severe triggers, and without the presence of some of my most loved ones. But overall, I at least feel like I can breathe and function, which is a state I didn't feel like I could exist in for over a year (and started to believe I may never exist in again).
Because of this new room in my life, I was able to connect with people again, in a more genuine way. I've grown closer to a lot of dev friends, to the point I consider some of them genuine close friends. And IRL, I've been able to reconnect with some of my dearest loved ones. The main reason I bring all of this up is because this year, I felt unbelievably connected to people, whether that was dev friends in the community, people who support my games, and IRL people.
And sometimes, when you interact with people solely online, it's easy to think they don't care as much about you as you do for them. But this has been disproven to me time and time again this year. And I've found myself in a state of appreciation for so many of the people I've been blessed to meet and befriend <3 I felt this especially so during some of the game jams, with the Secret Santa gift exchange, and with my recent Holiday Tree.
So thank you for everyone who has let me take up some space in their life. You literally Do Not Know how much it means to me and impacts me. This year, while I started it in a state of slightly hopelessness and numbness, I find myself ending it with gratitude and connection.
I hope the rest of this year (the very few couple of days we have left LOL) treats everyone well. I'm excited for how we get to start 2024 and what we'll get to experience together <3 Thank you again for the memories and support, love you all very dearly ^^

BHM 2025 - Black Fashion Figures: Patrick Kelly, Part 2
Kelly was, and still is, met with criticism in large part due to his willingness to lean into stereotypes and to incorporate racist iconography in his designs. Obvious examples include the Golliwog logo he sewed or screen printed all over garments, and his gifting of piccaninny dolls at fashion shows. Artists like Sequoia Barnes argue that Kelly was using fashion and engaging with the politically subversive nature of camp. To her, "the clothes were so over the top that it was obvious that it was a farce." She explains that artists in other mediums were met with less criticism, and questions whether the resistance Kelly's work is due to fashion still being seen as a consumerist artistic medium.
As mentioned previously, Kelly's designs were praised for their broad appeal and marketability to various audiences. Regardless of their chosen medium, for many black artists, this often results in attracting non-black audiences. In Kelly's case, his use of historically charged imagery adds another layer to the debate. In a 2022 panel, his long-term partner, explained that the imagery was not always obvious to non-Americans. In fact, he only began to engage with the political nature of the designs years later, coming up with the interpretation that Patrick was pulling these objects out of obscurity to recontextualize them.
Never having been one to talk much about the meaning behind his choice, we will never know the original intent behind his work. Patrick Kelly's run as a designer was interrupted in August 1989 as Kelly was diagnosed with AIDS, and he passed away from complications on January 1st 1990.
Thanks to all the CC creators: @serenity-cc, @madlensims, @gorillax3-cc and @helgatisha for the sick pose.

Word vomit:
I feel like that meme about not reading all of this but researching Patrick Kelly made me think a lot. It's a tricky discussion, and while I am a black African who grew up in North America, I am not African-American. All this to say, this is just my interpretation.
It's very difficult to reconcile with the use of blackface or any similar symbolism, whether that be in the past, present, or future. I disagree with the idea that fashion is a lesser form of art because it is so intrinsically linked to consumerism, the fact remains that many people still consume it without limited thoughts on what designers are trying to say. This idea was proved by my research and the anecdote shared by his long-term partner. Also, Kelly presented his work as fun and playful which differentiated him from the "cerebral" Japanese designers. I'm not saying he is to blame, but I do think he might have appealed to an audience that was looking for edgy and fun clothes and not one that would've immediately made the connections with the imagery.
Black artists and designers, especially the ones who try to be subversive because of their art are in a tough position because it can land in the hands of an audience that does not have the cultural background or media literacy to fully dissect it. I mean, we've seen it play out all of last year and even this week-end. Best-case scenario, the audience understands part of the message but extends the artist's position to that of the entire black community. I think in the case of Kelly had the right to let his art speak for itself, but I can't help but feel that it was detrimental to his legacy. In one of the panels I listened to, the speaker explained that even art students, who had the cultural baggage to analyze his art, struggled to engage with it.
So all in all, I don't have a conclusion other than, personally? Not for me. I guess I can kind of see what he was trying to do?

So, what’s your honest opinion of the full #picturegate drama?
I’ve seen many people believing that KP used The PoW as scapegoat and she doesn’t did the photoshop. But what are your thoughts? In case some are correct, why do you think they are blaming Kate? Why not blame the ‘real’ responsible (some suggested it’s her staff)
As we have discussed, their PR team is awful, but this new nonsense takes the cake
The situation leading up to the "photo kill" I've already described here:
That basically summarizes the situation leading up to the photo and its very public dismissal.
2. One of the other problems is the staff they have working for them. Clearly the KP communications department is not up to par. It should have been the communications head/chief taking the blame for this instead of Kate. Instead, he thought that a statement from Kate would quell the drama, when all it did was pour more gasoline on the fire.
So Kate can take the blame for the photo but couldn't make any comments about any messages she received from well wishers in the previous weeks? WTF?!
But then there's KP spokesperson giving statements to People magazine today!
A palace insider downplayed the PR crisis, telling PEOPLE exclusively that although the situation is a "bump in the road, it's not an earthquake." "[Kate] has apologized and graciously so," the insider says. "She has done something that 99% of us do — and we don’t have the scrutiny that they do." "Think of the level of scrutiny of pictures of her, as people pore over them," the insider continues. "You’re always on display and always got to be perfect." The insider adds, "She might be a member of the royal family, but she’s also a human being. If you've just had an operation, you want to look your best with the first photograph that’s published for the outside world."
I'm sorry but why is this person still in the employ of Kensington Palace and why are they speaking to People magazine? "We don't have the scrutiny that they do." FUCKING DUH!! That's why all sorts of people who don't pay attention to the BRF are like, "What the actual fuck is going on over there right now???"
So the KP comms people are continuing to dig the hole they are in. They haven't stopped digging and are unlikely to do so as long as they are calling up People magazine to give them exclusives on their professional fuckups!
3. Guess who hired and continues to employ the professional fuckup?
William!
William is an emotionally damaged, thin skinned, control freak with a privacy fetish. And William found his perfect YES MAN to accede to his control freak nature and his unhealthy demand for privacy with Lee Thompson.
YES MAN + Control Freak - connection to reality = the mess we have today
And the mess we have today continues to roll on. And will continue to roll on. Just as it has since he was hired in 2022...
There was the fuckup at Boston in 2022 when William issued a statement throwing his godmother under the bus when all he had to say was "This is an issue for Buckingham Palace." Except he didn't.
There was the bizarre photo op of Andrew being driven to church by William last August (2023), when everyone with a working, long-term memory knows that William has never kowtowed to his father.
Kate's stretch of wearing thirteen pantsuits in a row, 'cause she was all about "the work." Somehow, she didn't go on a crusade about wearing pantsuits when she was only The Duchess of Cambridge.
Announcing Kate had "planned abdominal surgery" the day after said planned abdominal surgery. If it was "planned," then wouldn't they have said something at least the day of rather than the day after?
Then there's the timeline of fuckery that's happened from Christmas until 09 March 2024 that I collated before The 2024 Mother's Day Photo Disaster.
And it's going to keep going on and on because the root of the problem is William!
4. Then there's The Princess of Wales, aka Kate or Catherine. She is the woman with likely more sense than either Lee or William put together. Do those two fuckups listen to her? Doubtful. Did they listen to any concerns or feedback she gave these two last summer? Or fall/autumn? Also doubtful.
So there's a woman who is a globally known public figure that does not have an easy way out of the mess the two men created, and also she may share some of the blame for decisions made last summer and fall?
And it's a very depressing situation being trapped with a husband who won't listen to you and takes you for granted, yet your husband will listen to the YES MAN at his employ. Because the husband is a emotionally damaged, thin skinned, control freak with a privacy fetish.
A very depressing situation when she knows that her reputation of twenty plus years in the public eye is about to go down the drain as a result of the choices these two men have made. (And no, I'm not talking about the Mother's Day photo.) Gee, what kind of situation could that lead to over the holidays?
5. Then you have Charles, Camilla, and the officials working at Buckingham Palace.
They know about all the communications problems taking place at KP since last summer. Oh, they know. BELIEVE ME. They know.
Charles is someone who believes people should learn from their mistakes and isn't going to interfere in his sons' lives and mistakes. Charles resented his parents interfering in his dating life long before he ever dated or married Diana. (Sabrina Guinness, anyone?) He also resented them interfering in his marriage to Diana.
Basically, Charles won't do what one of my friends from college did: write about her college roommate's pregnancy and due date in a Christmas letter. Yup. Charles isn't that man.
So, yes, BP's communication and pr about Charles's BPH treatment and cancer treatment veers toward being over the top. They have been very transparent with the press for a reason. They know there is a metaphorical nuclear bomb about to go off due to KP's lack of transparency and accountability to the UK public. The monarchy cannot be seen as complicit in it. It is KP's problem. Always has been a KP problem.
This is why Queen Camilla made so many visits to the front entrance of The London Clinic. Transparency. Proper communication with the UK public. The public can trust that The Crown is being honest with them. Kensington Palace clearly not so much.
It's why King Charles has been photographed doing mundane things such as greeting cards and going to church.
And yes, BP communications team is undoubtedly shading the KP comms team when King Charles got photographed in a car at Windsor last week, four days after Kate's pap shot with her mother.
So yeah, we're about to get the biggest scandal since the 90s when Diana died or the War of the Waleses. Pick your throwback reference. Get your popcorn. Because it is going to be that bad.
And the reputations of Will & Kate will never be the same.
Ever.

reading update: March 2024
March was so !!!!!! so fucking long, but that means that I got to read a lot of books - more than I did in January or February. they're pretty all over the place in terms of quality, but I think they're also all going to be pretty memorable in one way or another. shall we discuss?
what have I been reading?
The Ballad of Perilous Graves (Alex Jennings, 2022) - I bought this novel at Crescent City Books in New Orleans last June, then tucked it away to wait for exactly the right moment. and I'm so glad I did, because it was a gorgeous little flash of NOLA in the middle of a gray midwestern winter funk. this novel is so, SO steeped in celebrating the art, history, and culture of New Orleans, creating a version of the city filled with talking animals, living songs, and moving graffiti that hardly even feels that different than the real New Orleans. and in this book, Nola is distinct from New Orleans; there's some interesting multiverse stuff going on in the city that might be really interesting to my fellow fans of Dimension 20's Unsleeping City and N.K. Jemisin's City We Became. not every part of the book totally worked for me: the parts of the books following the kids - the titular Perilous "Perry" Graves and company - are definitely the strongest, and the actual details of how the plot got resolved got a little muddled for me before the surprisingly abrupt end. but! it must be said that the vibes are immaculate, and vibes will get you really far with me. I want to see a thousand more stories set in this world.
Thank You For Sharing (Rachel Runya Katz, 2023) - with god as my witness this was one of the most boring romance novels I've ever read, and that's saying something considering I literally just read Red String Theory. what I really adore are romances that take place at around an 11 on a scale of 1-10, under circumstances where absolutely no normal person should even be able to contemplate fucking but our protagonists power through because they're horny to a degree that renders them clinically unwell. this book was hovering somewhere around a 2; it's literally just two adults having jobs and hanging out in pretty mundane circumstances. the only thing that really strains my belief is that an otherwise well-adjusted woman is still upset about something that happened at summer camp over a decade ago, but I guess if she wasn't mad about something then the protagonists wouldn't be able to have a conversation about their feelings to show off how good they are at therapy speak.
Africa Is Not a Country: Notes on a Bright Continent (Dipo Faloyin, 2022) - genuinely one of the most excellent pieces of nonfiction that I've read in a hot minute. Faloyin's book consists of interconnected essays that just dazzlingly brilliant, in turns solemn, sardonic, and sly, always ready to offer the audience a little wink as it subverts expectations. Faloyin walks the reader through the history of several African countries, from colonial looting to rocky political regimes to the common tropes that plague modern media with depictions of Africa as universally backwards, impoverished, and struggling. I really felt like I was *learning* while I was reading this book and learning the specifics of so many places that are often portrayed as interchangeable in American media. I really sincerely can't recommend this enough, it's an excellent read.
That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon (Kimberly Lemming, 2024) - I can't in good conscience say that I enjoyed this book, but it is kind of a great read if you enjoy updating your housemates on the latest bullshit in your horny fantasy romance. Lemming's in a weird middle ground where she's putting a lot of effort into the backstory of the world that justifies our protagonist (who's named CINNAMON HOTPEPPER!!!!) meeting and hooking up with a demon (who's also a dragon, because all monsters are just a subspecies of demon. I'm not crazy about that but the worst part by far is definitely that his dragon form has hair) but also stops giving a shit about it the second it's not necessary. like (spoilers) but all of the human characters are REALLY chill about finding out that the goddess they've been worshipping for CENTURIES is actually an evil lich? and there's another human character who pretty casually watches the city where she's spent her entire life get razed to the ground by monsters with absolutely zero remorse, which is genuinely bananas. also this book misses SOOOO many opportunities to be really nasty horny because it's so focused on hyping up Cinnamon and Fallon's all-consuming five day spiral into unhinged magical demon marriage. even the "light bondage" promised in the content warning was disappointing; the emphasis was definitely more on the "light" than the "bondage." what does a bitch have to do to find a decent monsterfucker book. for the love of god please.
It Came From the Closet: Queer Reflections on Horror (ed. Joe Vallese, 2022) - I've heard a lot of hype about this book, an anthology of queer writers musing about the queerness that draws them to the horror genre. I was expecting the essays to be of an analytical nature, but it turns out they're much more personal. that's not necessarily a bad thing, but some of these essays ended up falling SUPER flat for me, with weak analogies that felt like the result of authors remembering at the last second that they were supposed to be relating their life to a horror movie somehow. which isn't to say that there weren't high points as well, but overall the collection was low lows and medium highs for me.
Sex Criminals Volume One: One Weird Trick (Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky, 2014) - I'm trying so hard to remember to read comics that aren't 30 year old Batman stories, and my friend Emily lent this to me months ago when I helped them move, so it seemed like high time to get around to checking out Sex Criminals. the premise is fun! what if time stopped when you had an orgasm? then what if you met someone else with the same ability and the two of you could have sex and run around in a time-stopped world together? and then what if you robbed banks? and I'm a huge fan of that. the writing isn't the most gripping thing in the world, and now that it's a decade old I find that it feels very emblematic of the kind of aggressively offbeat, Whedon-ish writing style that felt like it was really unavoidable in the 2010s, which I can't say has aged MAGNIFICENTLY for me. but I'm willing to read more, see where this series goes, and give it the chance to really win me over. stay tuned for Volume Two!
Rental Person Who Does Nothing (Shoji Morimoto, trans. Don Knotting 2023) - I can't decide if I want to sit Morimoto down for dinner to pick his brain or just skip the niceties and put his brain in a jar to study it, but either way this guy definitely has something fascinating going on. tl;dr: in this memoir Morimoto recounts his experiences using Twitter to let other people hire him out as a person who will do nothing. "doing nothing" covers all kinds of things: accompanying people to eat a meal that they felt too self-conscious to eat alone, keeping someone company so they don't get distracted while they should be working, or waving goodbye to a stranger at a train station. he's not paid for this, either, or at least doesn't charge a fixed rate; all the Morimoto asks for is the price of his train ticket to meet clients, who sometimes buy him extra gifts as a thank you. there are so many FASCINATING ideas presented in this book about work and value and interpersonal connection, and yet the book clocks in at under 200 pages. Morimoto isn't here to tell you how to feel about anything he's done, only to present some experiences and let you unravel the meaning for yourself. and I guess that's sort of brilliant. throughout the memoir he's adamant that Rental Person doesn't offer advice or tell anyone what to do, offering only basic responses when prompted. telling someone else what to think or attempting to offer up any wisdom gleaned from his rental work would count as doing something, wouldn't it? I really recommend checking it out for yourself and deciding what you think, especially if you're in a slump seeking something quick, engaging, and easy to read.

'Effectively, Ukraine has eliminated Russian ground forces'
...claimed an 'Eastern Europe expert' in this thread in March 2022, one month into the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
I was reminded of him when looking through some chatlogs today. At the time, I thought he was making absurd predictions, but figured he might try to water them down to claim something like accuracy if Ukraine won in the next month or two, stretching the definitions of words.
Now it's been a year and a half, and I want to revisit Sergej Sumlenny's bluster, not just for him being thoroughly personally wrong, but as a general reminder that anyone can call themselves an expert, and still be completely wrong.
In the first month of the war, this guy was saying shit like:
Russia and its army are about to collapse. RU obviously has no reserves left
Russia has been "about to collapse" every month for the last twenty months, somehow.
According to Ukrainian intelligence (and they get much info from the US I guess) Russia has already used 95% of all its ground forces gathered for the invasion, and it makes almost 100% of Russia's active ground forces. Effectively, Ukraine has eliminated Russian ground forces
If Ukraine would resist several more days, I am sure Russia will face the biggest defeat in its history. Nothing comparable. It will also trigger independency movements in Russia-occupied countries of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Ichkeriya, Sakha, Komi and others
I am not seeing these things that were supposed to happen after "several more days".
When Moscow army will be eliminated (and it nearly is)
I am also sure - very soon we will face a shiny glorious future without the Prison of Nations. Thank to brave Ukrainians.
"very soon" has come and gone, Sergej, why are you still here?
The simple explanation, IMO, is that this guy is a pure propagandist, nothing else.
Perhaps he was never attempting to say anything true at all, he was completely disconnected from the evidence, Ukraine paid him to say pro-Ukraine things so he said the things his paymaster wanted. If Russia had paid him, he would have said the opposite.
But the thing about the Sumlennys of the world is that someone has put quite a lot of money into making them look expert. A Twitter account is free and can be set up in five minutes. A website for the European Resilience Center, maybe fifteen minutes and ten bucks to host. The content over at European Resilience, with regular updates, takes a bit more work. But Sumlenny being interviewed by external sources like France24 is not so easily manufactured.
For more on Ukraine's planned counter-offensive and all of the latest in Russia's brutal year-long invasion, FRANCE 24 is joined by Sergej Sumlenny, Journalist, Political Analyst, and Managing Director of the European Resilience Initiative Center.
Sumlenny got similar treatment in a wide variety of news outlets from ABC to Al Jazeera. Journalism delenda est. Both for Sumlenny personally, and for the many other journalists who interviewed him, respected him, failed to fact-check him, treated him as an expert, and gave him the prestige of an expert. There's two different meanings of "expert":
"expert" as in "has a credential and is used as a source on the subject being discussed"
"expert" as in "consistently produces good results and correct predictions"
and Sumlenny was very much the first sort. Which also has two meanings when I say it: that he was not the second sort, and that people did cite him and invite him and treat his opinion as being worth more than some random Tumblr blog.
(One might like to have a word that only means the second sort of expert. Good luck keeping it!)
The information ecosystem is polluted by Sumlennys. It's easy and common to go "Russian bot", but one should also have a mental space for "Ukranian bot", and then expand that term far enough to include Sumlenny, or have some other term for the less-obviously-bot-like people performing expertise as they spout nonsense. There is no side that is free of lies and nonsense, there is no credential that is clean, there is no institution that is clean. The clown world experts are everywhere. Sumlenny was not acting alone, nor is he unique, Sumlenny merely happened to get my attention, and the "factcheck" system that journalists love to talk about didn't catch him. It's not going to catch slightly more subtle lies. Epistemology is hard.

I've gotten back into watching The Owl House for the first time (I watched the first 14 episodes some months ago, but then got sidetracked for a while). I'm making great progress because the show's super good, and I've just finished Season 2 Episode 8.
My knowledge of the show is both extensive and very spotty; I've been spoiled for major plot points through fanart, fanfic, and AU comics, and I know that people say it was cancelled too soon and its last season went by too fast. However, I don't know the connecting threads between the plot points, and I never looked into people's commentaries on how the show was handled because, well, I hadn't watched it yet.
Today, I wondered how much of the show I have left to look forward to and glanced at the Wikipedia page for The Owl House. This is how I got hit with two surprising pieces of information (it's only surprising for me personally, so I'll put it under a read-more).
The third season of The Owl House technically only has three episodes.
I knew that the series ended earlier than anyone anticipated with three long-ish specials, but I guess I didn't hear the information properly. I just assumed that the specials came at the end of a third season that was much shorter than the other two, but that was still, like, a season. But now... oh wow, some of the comments I remember hearing make a lot more sense now. And the specials are 44 minutes each. Even if we consider it in terms of how long the episodes usually are, that's still only about six episodes worth of runtime. I can't imagine what it must've felt like to have been an active Owl House fan when the show was first airing. And speaking of which...
2. The Owl House didn't start or end all that long ago.
This is more a result of how I perceive time thanks to how events have played out for me in the fast five years. Let's break this down:
I remembered hearing about this exciting new show called The Owl House when I was attending undergrad and living on-campus. I graduated in May 2020, which means that school year's memories have been overshadowed by COVID. Partway through March 2020's spring break, when I was back home, the lockdowns began, ending my time living on-campus earlier than expected. Since I remembered hearing about the show while I was still living in dorm housing, this made me think the show started in 2019, and it'd had more time to gain a fanbase by the time I heard about it. But no, it first started airing in January 2020. There were only 9, maybe 10, episodes out before lockdowns were implemented in March. I'm impressed at how quickly this show got popular among my peer group.
The 2022-2023 school year (a 1-year masters program) was... emotionally complicated for me. Something happened during that year that has permanently made me think of events that occurred during that time frame as either "before" or "after" a 3-month period (October 2022-January 2023). The school year itself, of course, was its own exciting and life-impacting time as learned, worked, and grew in Edinburgh, so I still regard it as relatively "recent." I don't know why, but I was convinced that The Owl House ended "before" the 3-month event. I could've sworn that all of the discussions about the finale occurred safely before that cut-off point, and that I would have already been late to the party if I started watching while in Scotland. But no. The first of season 3's specials (according to Wikipedia) was released on October 15, 2022, three days after the start of the 3-month event. The second special was released on January 21, 2023, the very last day of the event. The third special was released on April 8, 2023, while I was still reeling from the event and still in Scotland. I know this timeline won't mean much to other people. But to my perception of time, of what's "recent" and relevant to major events, this has dramatically shifted my understanding of the lifetime of this show. I deeply regret not getting onboard earlier.

currently watching: twd & the mentalist!! love twd sm i love long series and how they become homey and i love thinking abt constant underlying messages which twd is RIFE with. i am watching this season quite infrequently tho just cuz i don’t enjoy it as much as the others and i have been angry ranting abt it tbh………
the mentalist is quite frankly…… bad. 😭😭 WELL actually idk…… like it has strong points and obviously something abt it hooks me cuz hello i’m on s4 but in s1 & 2 i was like thats so cliched and annoying and that’s literally just police brutality so….. but in s3 i was enjoying parts & building little fantasy worlds abt it in my head & oh my god im obsessed w teresa lisbon & i LOVED the finale because it had DRAMA!!!! but then all the drama surrounding one plot avenue is just SUCKED OUT (imo) in the beginning if s4 so??? and one plot thread was just left so like thats annoying….. and the main guy at the last few minutes of an episode was literally told. i’ve diagnosed u with aspd (well. he said ‘psycopath’ i think but then when he lightheartedly asked a coworker he used the term ‘anti social personality’ so) and its like…. a joke basically so…… thank u very cool. literally that one house autism GOTCHA moment i had flashbacks
currently reading: love and marriage by monica ali, i got it from my english teacher cuz she brought in her favs. it was funny cuz last minute she was like oh no i forgot!!!! theres a lot of sex!!!!ask if u have questions i’m ur pshe teacher!!! very earnest & giggly shes great. i like it so far and the style of writing, im VERY interested in where its going, so glad i’ve found a book i enjoy sm

lesbians guide to catholic school, just for the mandatory 10 mins reading at my school in english. don’t really like the writing style, but i find the main character, yamilet’s, unique relationship w her family SO interesting. being the second favourite just bc shes a girl, how she reconciles her love for her brother with how frustrating that is, homophobia from beloved family members, and her dad being deported all interest me a lot
current favourites: …..always hot chocolate & whipped cream, my binder!!!!! oat biscuits, pasta, painting in acrylics & just working in my gcse sketchbook in general, collaging, imagining scenarios & fic scenes in my head especially w music, listening to music to and from school, when i make people laugh, that i’ve become more social and less afraid to talk to people,
no pressure tags <3 : @gayfilmbro @preordainedplace (again!! no pressure esp for u!! cuz ik were not mutuals but i love ur blog & art <3 and with it being so hard to find anyone posting abt one deranged movie released 13 years ago it feels like were locked in the same cage already lmao) @1985houndsoflove @thelastdaysofrocknroll @thepunkmuppet @doctorgregoryhouse @pnt03prcnt

I can't believe this year is already just about over... 2023 has been huge for me in terms of fandom and in real life spaces. This was my first full year publicly out as queer, and it felt at times like the rest of the world was kinda celebrating with me. I made so many new fandom friends and got a lot more involved with the things I'm passionate about. I joined 5 fandom discord servers, beta'd more than a few fics, cheer-read a few others, and participated in 4 fanfiction events. I spent most of the year whining about how I can't get any writing done, but apparently I wrote and posted more fics this year than in 2020, 2021, and 2022 combined! I wrote nearly 50,000 words this year. Thank you to everyone who supported me, encouraged me, laughed and cried with me, or spent time with me in any capacity. I cherish you all.
Anyway, now for the part people actually want lol- here are the 6 fics I published in 2023:

The Hazards of Falling in Love (Rescue Me)
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rated: T Word Count: 4k Summary: “So that’s your name?” Rogers hasn't looked away from him once. His eyes are a piercing blue, and Tony barely manages to keep from squirming under his gaze. “Yeah. Ghost of Tsushima: A Total Work of Art?
BLOG 2: GESAMTKUNSTWERK AS A TOOL IN GAMES
During my 2022 internship at Buffalo Soldiers, a coworker gave me a choice between swords and guns. Because of my historical background, I went with the swords. With its focus on katanas, the game Ghost of Tsushima initially looked enticing, but it soon showed itself to be a masterwork of storytelling and graphics thanks to that decision. I discovered a game in feudal Japan that piqued my interest beyond simple entertainment, so I used Gesamtkunstwerk's theory to explore the game's potential as a cohesive work of art.
About Ghost of Tsushima
Sucker Punch Productions created Ghost of Tsushima, a third-person open-world action-stealth game, only for the PlayStation 4. The story takes place on the Japanese island of Tsushima in 1274. The player controls Jin Sakai, the hero, as he fends off a Mongol invasion. The article was released on July 17, 2020.
Ghost of Tsushima is a narrative-driven action-adventure game featuring combat and stealth elements. Smaller side stories form an anthology around the main plot. It is only loosely based on true historical events and is entirely fictional, intended only for entertainment. It is not an accurate historical retelling.
In the year 1274 AD, on the island of Tsushima, nearly every samurai warrior stationed on the island is vanquished by the monstrous Mongol Empire, who wreaks havoc and conquers Tsushima. Samurai warriors are the mythical guardians of Japan. With the aid of his allies, Jin Sakai, one of the last living samurai, rises from the ashes to fight back, but the noble strategies and samurai code will not be enough to defeat the Mongols. Jin must transcend samurai traditions and forge a new fighting style known as the way of the Ghost as he fights an unconventional war for Japan's freedom.
youtube
Academic Standpoint
Developed by German philosopher Karl Friedrich Trahndorff in 1827 and made popular by composer Richard Wagner in the middle of the 19th century, Gesamtkunstwerk is the term used to describe the idea of a "total work of art." The term, which combines the German words "Gesamt," which means whole or total, and "Kunstwerk," which means artwork, conveys the idea of a cohesive and all-encompassing piece of art that combines different artistic elements to create a pleasing whole. (Wagner, 1993)
Game Elements
Thematic
Storyline
The narrative of Ghost of Tsushima centers on Jin Sakai, a samurai and the last living member of the Sakai clan, during the Mongol invasion of Tsushima Island in 1274. In a last-ditch effort to save his homeland, Jin transforms himself as the "Ghost," disregarding the long followed traditional samurai principles in favor of stealth and guerilla tactics following a devastating defeat at the hands of Khotun Khan's Mongol forces. Players will see Jin's internal conflict between upholding his honor and adjusting to the harsh realities of war as the game progresses. In his mission to fend off the Mongol invaders and uphold the samurai traditions, Jin must negotiate the complex politics of Tsushima, form alliances with other fighters, and confront moral dilemmas.
Cultural Reference
The story primarily is set around Mongol Invasion of 1274 and 1281 in Japan. Kublai Khan the grandson of the great Genghis Khan was primarily responsible for the invasion. Although most of the information in the game is false in order to make it more entertaining for the players. Some of the flaws were as follows: 1. Characters like Jin Sakai, Shimura and Khotun Khan who are the prime figures of the game are not real or based around real people. 2. There was no single person who was responsible for liberating Japan form the clutches of Mongolians. 3. Samurais necessarily didn't wield a sword, instead used bows and spears as they preferred long distance combat. The following were some extra references I came across in the game: 1. Shinto Shrines and Japanese Mythology and Folklore: Shinto Shrines were all across the game map and were more of a collectable than something very important. Upon visiting these shrines, the player received a charm which were named after Japanese gods. 2. Kitsune / Fox-Den: A collectible, however fox or kitsune are considered holy in Japanese folklore. This collectible unlocked charm slots in the player's inventory. 3. Artefacts and Records: There were Mongolian Artefacts and records dispersed all across the map. All the artefacts added facts and historical richness to the game.
Visuals
Art
The game's art style is a multifaceted masterpiece, showcasing various layers that contribute to its overall realism. Ghost of Tsushima skillfully captures the very essence of feudal Japan, a testament to the meticulous efforts of its creators. The commitment to authenticity extends even to the user interface, where Japanese Ink Paintings seamlessly integrate, elevating the visual appeal of the game. This attention to detail not only enhances the overall aesthetic but also immerses players in a visually rich and culturally resonant gaming experience.
Locations
The finely detailed locations in the game are modelled after actual locations on Tsushima Island, Japan. Ghost of Tsushima expertly recreates well-known locations like Tsu-Tsu, Komoda Beach, and Keneda Fortress while maintaining a careful balance between realism and aesthetic appeal. The game makes a deliberate decision to stray from perfect visual accuracy even though it remains faithful to the veracity of these locations. This deliberate decision improves the player experience overall by fostering an environment that is both visually stunning and immersive.
Costumes
In Ghost of Tsushima, the clothes and accessories perfectly capture the spirit of the era, offering moving mirrors of the game's historical backdrop. The Straw Hat Ronin serves as an example of how careful considerations were made during the creation of the character outfits, which were inspired by a real historical organization. The Ronin were skilled fighters who differed from samurais in their devotion to wealth and honor. Their ensembles of Mongols, Samurais, Soldiers, and other supporting cast members all adorably mimic historical costume realism. Every ensemble not only honors the period's authenticity but also gives the characters they portray a deeper level of narrative complexity.
Cinematics
The success of the game can be largely ascribed to its narrative strength, which is skillfully brought to life through cinematic mastery. The attention to visual storytelling is evident in the use of different camera techniques throughout the cutscenes. Using extreme long shots strategically to capture expansive locations with a forward-moving trucking effect is noteworthy. Contrarily, dialogue is skillfully presented through medium shots, with a variety of close-ups—from medium to extreme close-ups—highlighting facial expressions. These cinematic devices go beyond cutscenes; they become moving fillers that show the player's choices' visual consequences after the mission. The visual story is further elevated by the use of compositional principles like the rule of thirds and leading lines in conjunction with camera techniques like depth of field and defocus. The careful use of various lighting techniques gives Ghost of Tsushima a further degree of cinematic elegance.
Audio
youtube
Rich ambient sounds and moody background scores are expertly blended in Ghost of Tsushima to create a cinematic experience. Featuring a variety of indigenous instruments, such as the mesmerizing Koto and the heartfelt bamboo flute, the musical tapestry, led by Sony and directed by Ilan Eshkeri and Shigeru Umebayashi. By reflecting the essence of feudal Japan, this thoughtful decision heightens the game's cultural resonance.
Additionally, the game is available in both English and Japanese, demonstrating the developers' dedication to authenticity in language choices. By keeping the spirit and cultural quirks that make Ghost of Tsushima such a singularly compelling experience, this bilingual approach guarantees that players will be able to fully immerse themselves in the game.
Other Mechanics
Gameplay Mechanics is what gives a plethora choice to the player about how a player wants to play the game. One can be either offensive and fight head on or be stealthy like a ninja. The game offers a wide variety of weapon options and ninja tools to. One can even change the appearance and get different benefits based around the outfits you choose. This variety makes it an even better gaming experience for the player.
There is even poetry in the game. In the form of Haiku one can discover scenic locations and also be able to collect headbands that players can use as their gear.
Conclusion
The game should be considered a piece of art as the media transcends to various means. A very good proof is the awards and nomination the game has got. The game has been nominated for its Art Direction, Narrative, Audio, Performance and many more. This simply justifies how the game can be considered a total work of art.

☀️January TC Challenge (Day 1-31)☀️
1. Do you think your TC will teach you next year? M is teaching me this year and i'm so exited for it! I also still have A this year!
2. If you had to move to another city, how would you tell your TC? Would you confess to them? Maybe in person so i could see how they reacted and i would maybe confess them!
3. Have you ever written a letter to your TC? If no, would you ever do that and what would be in it? If yes, what did you write? Yes. I made one for S mid 2022. I wrote how I was so thankful for him.
4. Are you attracted to your TC in a more emotional or sexual way? Or both? Both if i'm being completely honest
5. How did you meet your TC? Do you remember your first conversation? B and S both taught me when they first joined, and I sadly don’t remember our first conversation since we had so many and it was so long ago. I think with A, it was just mainly about getting to know each other, and i got to know him because my old maths teacher used to teach him. I met A around the same time as S! I met M at the start of last year since he was my teacher for a small bit of a subject i took! Our first conversation was him praising me and my answers
6. If it were to happen, how do you imagine the perfect kiss going down with your TC? If by chance you have kissed your TC, how did it happen? For S and M, I imagine it being the last day of school and they give me a goodbye kiss! With B, maybe a reunion kiss or something like that. With A, maybe a quick goodbye kiss!
7. Have you ever had an argument with your TC? No. I would have nothing to argue about with them
8. Do you see your TC outside of school? I wish I did. Hopefully i get to see B maybe, especially because he left
9. Do you have a memory you are particularly fond of with your TC? Any cute stories? When B was still at my school, B and I would have chats about random things and ask about my hobby of drawing! He also used to check up on me during school assemblies! Once when i was staying back after school, i was on a call with my dad, and i saw S walking towards me. I finished up the call with my dad so fast (my dad and i were done anyway) and talked with S until he got to his car. I helped him remove some things off his car before saying goodbye! This happened recently before it was the school holidays, but when i was in M's class, i was working on my own since i didn't really know anybody in that class. M saw this and decided to work with me! He was really sweet throughout it and technically gave me all the answers With A, we were working on something that my teacher gave me, and it had a question about a sports team that he followed. The question involved his team losing, so A decided to cross out his team's name and put a different team's name instead. A and i were laughing about it for a while.
10. If your TC is still married, would you (still) want a relationship with them? it all depends, really in my opinion
11. Do you have a photo with your TC? If yes, how did you get it? Yes. I have one with B. I got it because the photo is in the school yearbook.
12. Do you think anyone you haven't told about your TC knows you're crushing on them? Most likely. It is obvious
13. When is your last class with your TC? Will you see them over summer break? My last class with S was in 2021 and with B, it was term 3 last year. I won’t see them over the holidays sadly. with M, it was at the end of last year. I will defiantly see A over the holidays!
14. Have you ever mentioned the tcc/teacher crushes to your TC? NO WAY. I would move schools after that. Even to the other side of the world!
15. Do you think one of your classmates has a crush on your TC? I don’t know tbh
16. Do you get jealous when you see your TC with other students? Not really
17. If you and your TC had a long distance relationship, do you think it would work out? Yes...
18. What's your TC's degree? Do you like what they studied? S: Science and a language B: English M: Science i like those subjects
19. Have you ever cried about your TC? If so, why? No
20. Have you ever cried in front of your TC? If yes, why? I have cried in front of B once, I have forgotten the reason why. S saw me just after I finished crying and it was embarrassing.
21. Do you know about your TC'S family? If yes, what do you know? I know of M’s daughter. (He introduced me to her once which was cute)
22. Would you consider them a dog person or a cat person? I would consider them all cat people. But maybe M would be a dog person
23. How would you tell your TC about your feelings? (If you had to) Letter most likely so it can be anonymous
24. Do you know how your TC dresses outside of work? In casual shit, I guess
25. What are they like when they are upset? I’ve never seen any of them upset. When B was getting annoyed, he would just be like “come on guys” and everyone would just shut up
26. Where do you sit in relation to their desk/spot/lecturing position? With B, i used to sit at the front, near where he was sitting. With S and M, usually at the back, so I can admire them. Since A and I have private sessions, I technically sit right next to him
27. Do they know another language? S knows Italian. i think A may know a tiny bit of greek
28. What do you have in common with your TC? B and I both had pets at one point and A and i went to the same School (he left a couple years before i joined)
29. Have you texted/messaged your TC? I’ve messaged A multiple times! I’ve only emailed the others
30. What is the most frequent TC daydream you play in your head? Me cuddling with them
31. If you could only say one more sentence to your TC before graduation, what would it be? "I will miss you a fuck ton"

hi! do you have tips and advice for making gifs? i love your gifs so much!
awww thank you so much, that really means a lot to me as I'm still rusty and a bit insecure because I've learned how to make gifs like 10 years ago? things didn't changed that much in terms of method and yet it's still scary, but at the end people like you make it worth!! 🥺🥺🥺
a little disclaimer: I'm colorblind, I can see colors okay! but I just see them a little bit different than most people so sometimes my edits may seem a little weird and that's the reason
Okay It will definitely be a long answer so I'll put under the cut ☺️
My advices would be:
- Just go for whatever scene you like the most, and try to focus on things you enjoy. I like to gif what I love, things I find beautiful as it gives me so much joy to look at the final result 😌
- Fortunately tumblr is full of people willing to share their knowledge and skills and there is lots and lots of blogs with the main theme being tutorials or even inspo and sources, so I always try to follow them to keep up with whatever is trending and just to learn new tricks and tips, some of my faves are @completeresources @gifmakerresource @allresources and @chaoticresources
- Be patient with yourself, if you are trying a tutorial and it is giving you a hard fight you can always stop and try again another time. It happened to me more than once that a tutorial or a particular idea I was trying gave me such a bad fight that I ended up so frustrated, exhausted, angry and feeling shitty but then I would pick another time to give it try and the thing worked hahahaha, so don't forget to respect your time and wellbeing
In terms of tips and tricks:
- Always use high quality videos, like the best quality available as it really makes a difference in terms of the final result
- Oh always resize your gifs!!! I use the crop tool and then I adjust the image size to keep it high quality, I think this is BY FAR the best tutorial as it explains quite well if you are new to editing
- So far I have tried many many different methods over the years, my fav is to cut the scenes I want to edit and for this use any video editing software really and after choosing a couple of scenes I import all of them to Photoshop (my version is the 2022 edition) and then I use the video timeline method (i don't really remember where I learned it but I found this really good tutorial that might be helpful)
- I slow down the gifs I make (idk how to explain it in english I'm sorry) but I set the speed for something in between 50% to 70%, depending on the scene
- In terms of colouring I don't really have a specific preset or fav PSD, I adjust them one by one just trying to focus on what the scene gives and then I work my way around it depending on what I'm trying to achieve or how do I want my gifset to look like (a good example was the Ron one on my last gifset i didn't wanted to look so yellow as it would be too different from the other gifs, it was a nightmare) BUT I guess I tend to use lots and lots of adjustment layers like I start with brightness/contrast, curves, and levels and then I proceed to selective colors, hue, vibration and saturation, sometimes I even use gradients and/or solid color layers with different blending options like soft light, overlay, opacity and fill settings to correct colors (I always use the color wheel principles of opposites and/or complementaries)
- Use smart sharpening!!! Peopel are so brilliant that they gave us actions, it is literally just a click away from all the trouble to do it manually, and it speeds up my process. Personally I have been using this amazing one I found quite recently, and it's really doing wonders to my edits
anyway thank you so much for being so kind and supportive, my ask box and dm are always open if you have any doubts or just want to exchange ideas. Really hope it helps you ❤️

- PAID READING FEEDBACK -
First of all, I'd like to thank you for the detailed reading you sent to me. It is deeply appreciated. Second, I have to admit I wasn't expecting that kind of first meeting with my future spouse. To be completely honest, I actually thought it would be lighter - like both of us in good places of our lives and something. To also give you a little background, I experienced my spiritual awakening last 2022 and had a lot of up and downs in my life. From my awakening, I strongly and continuously try changing myself for the better for me and important people in my life. I genuinely believe I've changed a lot since then, however i also believe I still have a long way to go. By this time, I'm sure my future spouse is someone who seems to be more stable minded than me. I also feel like he's someone more knowledgeable in terms of life experiences than me at this point. That's a good thing for me, since knowledge is knowledge and it's always a blessing to learn more through other people.
However, I think my initial concern when I read my reading was that I looked inferior compared to him. Kind of felt like someone who constantly self-pities or is into self-sabotaging. That made me think if I actually did improve at all for a moment. And I realized you mentioned that could be the current energy of our meeting, so it may probably be that for that time I will be experiencing something that will make me feel down. I realized then that I could work more on myself and that could be another transformation moment for me for the better.
Also, can I just say I'm happy you mentioned our first communication having something to do with the community and charity? I might not exactly know what it is about but I'm someone who holds a lot of opinions and consider myself as a person who likes to keep myself aware of societal issues. It just makes me feel good knowing our first communication would have something connected to being kind and having/showing gratitude.
Funny you mentioned about seeing 111/1111 all the time because I am seeing it more constantly now. Not just 111 though, just like angel numbers in general. Sometimes, 222 or 444 or just any mirroring numbers in general these past few months.
And when you described how we would feel about each other, like both of us may be having a disorganized attachment style at the moment, I really hope that would be something we both individually work on from the start. Also, it's amazing how you mentioned me being attracted to people who add to my wisdom or who are calm and feel like home because you're actually right. I'm someone who is greatly attracted to knowledgeable and experienced people (not necessarily specified to academics alone). It also takes a lot of time for me to warm up to someone. I believe I'm the type of person who someone needs to earnestly earn their place and trust in my life. Everyone's life is a privacy not everyone deserves to know and have, therefore I believe that's why I appear as off-putting or intimidating to converse at by other people. Though I understand I have the tendency to be extreme about shutting people out of my life and that's something I'm still working on.
Also just a freaky happening, just before I saw this message I was trying my only white (kind of) mesh top earlier??? AND WHEN I TYPED THAT IT WAS EXACTLY 11:11???? It might just be a coincidence but omg, that really shocked me HAHAHAHA
Along with the other signs you mentioned, it made me happy to see cats as part of the signs. I have cats so it just makes me feel delighted to know about it. I'm thinking he might be the one wearing a watch though since I'm not really the type to wear watches (and if I do, the only watch I have is color white haha).
Safe to say, this reading gave me a lot of insight and it's been a pleasure to finally have a reading from you. Expect me to order more in the future 🥰
Thank you once again!
