I was trying to eat noodles neatly and for some reason I got sad midway. So I drew them messy eating a biscuit and a strawberry to combat sad noodle blues.
#Ugh I could've made it messier though.#I tried looking at how the strawberry juice look as it's getting bitten. But looking at a closeup of a mouth eating is kinda uncomfortable#I would need to be paid to look at that again. I dropped it and just winged it. Lol#Hm. I should've at least looked up how goopy it should look. But eh. Drawings finished.#I heard wild strawberries are sour? But these ARE giant strawberries. So this might be a special special kind of strawberry.#I'm not like other strawberries. 😤🍓 Lol#I can't remember what an actual strawberry taste. People made it look pretty good though.#Then again people also made dragon fruit look tasty and it turned out it just tastes like a very very desaturated pear. Lol#Hmmmm but also then again. They also make cherries look good and I LOVE cherries. 🤷‍♀️#That ain't the giant Crumbl cookie if anyone's wondering. Connie would probably never spend money on a Crumbl. That's a home made biscuit.#Bruh I can't spell biscuit#I watched someone biting on what I think is a Crumbl and they spit it out. And the pieces sounded like concrete as it hit the table 😆😆😆#connverse#connie maheswaran#steven quartz universe#Lion SU#su#steven universe#skedoobles#Ah. Also scribbling this because I needed a break after burning out 3 hours of a commission's allotted time just figuring out what pose#to settle on. So like I only have five hours left to work on their piece. 😬#my shiz#Waitaminuteee in case I unintentionally relayed it wrong. I'm not going to actually just make that allotted commission time just 5 hours no#I recognize not being able to settle a pose for THAT long in a commission is skill issue on my part so I'm not going to carve out 3 hours#Plus at least now I have poses that I *could* make a YCH out of. The body measures are going to be limited however 🤔

Facists: Batman is wasting everyone's time! He could do so much more good if he just killed all the villains...
Leftists: Batman is wasting everyone's time! He could so so much more good by giving his billions to the poor!
Liberals: Batman is wasting everyone's time! He could do so much more good by asking Gotham to vote blue no matter who...

A Critique of the Western Left
Tumblr media
The Western Left has been marred by infighting in recent years, effectively crippling any capacity it has to fight back against the vicious capitalist system it rightfully opposes.
In my eyes, I see two main contributing factors to the general incompetency of the Left in the Western world. Infighting and ineffective campaigning.
Infighting between sects within the left along niche ideological lines stunts its ability to grow its membership and influence by making the movement look irrelevant, hostile, and elitist. The right isn't divided along small ideological lines. They can and will cooperate to spread their collective hateful ideologies. To combat this effectively, we need to put our differences aside and unite along our common enemy: the capitalist system. Only when the abolition of capitalism has been undertaken can we afford to disagree on minor policy and theoretical differences.
Secondly, Leftist campaigning is so focused on ideological niches that it no longer appeals to the working people. The average worker is not concerned about who Gonzalo was. They are too busy worrying about food, about rent, about utilities and education, and safety. We need to campaign issues that are affecting the people the most. We NEED to appeal to the masses and embrace left-wing populism to garner the popular support needed to oppose fascism if we want any chance of facilitating positive and lasting change.
We have a common enemy, and we must not fight each other. Instead, we must work together for the good of the people and for the good of the planet.

SandWing soldiers!
Less liberal use of metal compared to SkyWings because they mainly quarry gold, not iron. They are one of the two tribes who have the technology to create the human-borrowed weapon 'crossbows'. Their version of the armament retains it's original reference size.
Left side is a SandWing general clad in standard iron armor. Right is a regular soldier with light leathers underneath linen surcoat.
Their stingers are natural counters to those wearing chainmail and other thinner arms so they didn't have to get creative with their choices. They strike a good balance of mobility and defense, with higher ranking dragons having the freedom to wear any piece they wish. The lower ends however are fit with camel and chameleon leathers, sometimes aketon coating below the layers which is good protection against the vicious tribe's venom and is decent against unarmed and armed attacks.

The Biggest Conservative Lie: "But how do you pay for that?"
Tumblr media
I think right now, while America is starting yet another global economic crisis is the best time to talk about this one issue. Because oh boy, it sure is an issue. And I think everyone who follows politics in some regard has come across one example of this.
One fairly centrist (lets face it, most of them are not even left) politician goes: "Maybe actually we should just help people/keep our infrastructure running."
To which a conservative or right wing politician will inevitably go: "Yeah, but how do you pay for that? It is not as if I am against it (a total lie), but it is jsut not viable! We do not have the money for it!"
The same arguement also gets pulled on any actually further left-wing idea like Universal Basic Income or such.
The thing is: This answer is a lie from beginning to end. We do know for a fact that any sort of social spending pays for itself - and to help it over thestart issues can be absolutely financed by putting a bit more tax on the wealthy and the companies.
Outside of those Chicago School morons (the ones who still proclaim trickle-down-economics, a by now disproven idea of economics, totally works) pretty much every person working in economics - no matter how much they hate this fact - does agree that indeed, it works.
Lets just go through a couple of examples, alright?
Single-Payer Healthcare: This is easily proven given that a lot of countries have implemented this in one way or another. This very much improves medical outcomes, and lessons the costs of healthcare within the country. Mainly due to the healthcare being paid more fairly, but also due to people actually getting healthcare easier, as they do not need to take out a loan if they stay in the hospital for three days. Plus: People who are healthy are able to do better work, and do hence end up adding more to the economy - if you care about that. (I don't, but you know those psychopaths do.)
Giving Homeless People Homes: This is one that basically so far only Finland does. Homeless people in Finland receive homes through the state - and guess what: Not only do most of them succeed to gain stability in their lives, but they also cost the state a lot less money this way, than if they live in the streets. Win win for everyone.
Making all education free: Again, this one is fairly self-explanatory. Any sort of academic work - from education to research - usually helps the economy. Educated people provide more value for the economy. Research done at the universities often improves the economy. Like, even outside from a general "education is good" thing... If you care about the economy, you want this.
Paying for infrastructure: You know what any sort of economic thing needs to work? Yeah, infrastructure. They will need streets, water, electricity, internet access and shit. If you provide it for free, the companies will more likely settle where you provide this - and you then can tax them.
Universal Basic Income: Let's talk about a more controversal one. But we by now have studies over studies that is proving the concept. Yeah, if you just give all people money, it will help your country and your economy. People who receive money will get more educated, they will take better care of their families, they are more healthy, they eat better, they might start their own businesses. And it is easily paid for by just taxing companies and the super rich so little, that they would barely even notice it - given how filthy rich they are. And normally poor people that have more money to spend, will actually spend it. Shocking, I know!
Privatization and punishing poor people actually tends to cost the state and everyone a whole lot more money than otherwise.
But of course this is not why the conservatives are against it. Most of them know the numbers quite well - but they do not care. Because all that they care about is that those few people who are super rich and finance their political careers to get more and more money - money that they do not need and will hoard like the dragons of yore.
Meanwhile - as Americans are finding out in real time - the financial methods the conservatives are using do not work and have been proven to not work.
Tax cuts for the rich? Yeah, that got us into this issue to begin with. Trickle down economics do not work. And Tariffs? They just make everything more expensive for everyone.
Again: This is not like the conservatives do not know this. They do. Or rather, I certainly hope they do. Because there is simply two options: Either they know this and are lying about that to profit, or they are uneducated morons, who should not be in the position they are, because they clearly do lack the necessary education and abilities to understand complex systems.
But no, fact is: They are lying.
We can pay for this. We always could. For a long time we did. But then things went horribly wrong.

I think the single most embarassing thing I've ever witnessed was when this guy I went to college with (not the one being indicted for participating in an attempted coup d'état) printed this huge picture of margaret thatcher and took it to the front of the congress - the brazilian one, which only makes it more cringe - and posted a pic of himself crying there while holding her portrait the day she died

Cosmic Perspective on Humanity
“The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.” — Carl Sagan
This quote by Carl Sagan, from his reflections on the "Pale Blue Dot" image of Earth taken by Voyager 1, is one of the most poignant and sobering commentaries on human nature and our place in the universe. It's a powerful distillation of humility and perspective.
Sagan's words emphasize just how small and fragile our planet—and everything that happens on it—really is when seen from a cosmic scale. His reflection on human conflict and the desire for domination exposes the tragic irony of our behavior: we commit immense violence and cruelty over borders, beliefs, and power, all while existing on what amounts to a speck of dust in an unimaginably vast cosmos.
The power of this quote lies in its juxtaposition. On one hand, it paints a picture of the grandeur and scale of the universe; on the other, it highlights the pettiness and destructiveness of much of human history. It’s both a critique and a call for introspection—an urging to reevaluate our values, actions, and the stories we tell ourselves about significance and glory.
Sagan's message is not one of nihilism, though—it’s of responsibility. If this "dot" is all we have, then we ought to treat each other and the Earth with more care, compassion, and wisdom.

I've been reading | Dragon vibes AU
In the vineyards of Schola Draconica Litoralis, Mirèlha squinted through her glasses at the hatchling nursery. The university was nestled in the lavender fields and quaint stone buildings but this prestigious institution was unlike any other. Here, dragons weren't just mythical beasts, but also subjects of a rigorous study, particularly their hatchlings – les dragonets.
Mirèlha, the leading researcher in draconic neonatology, knelt beside a shimmering turquoise egg. The veins pulsed beneath its surface showing signs of life.
"Patience, petite," she whispered in a soothing tone with richness of her native Provençal. Years of research had mastered her ability to decipher the clicks and whistles of dragon communication. She dedicated her whole life deciphering to these majestic creatures.
Suddenly, the turquoise egg shuddered. The cracks snaked across its surface, and with a triumphant squeal, a snout poked through. A wet, emerald eye blinked at Mirèlha. The hatchling, no bigger than a melon, spread its delicate wings, its scales shimmering. It wobbled on unsteady legs, its tail lashing playfully.
Mirèlha's face broke into a wide grin. "Bienvenue au monde, mon petit!" she cooed, carefully scooping up the hatchling and nuzzling its wet nose with her index finger.
