#i wanted to have fun with this one by drawing how i imagine my teams base to look postgame (too lazy to color it though)#dont stare at it too hard- i suck at perspective so i had to make a mockup in minecraft and draw over it TT_TT#i really wish they did more with the team base after graduation like.. some decorations at least. and i was always curious#whether the vines at the back of the room would reveal a new room and i was so disappointed when it didnt#im gonna ramble a bit abt what i drew here-#a small pool has been built around the spring so it holds more water.. it was inspired by the well in secret world of arrietty#+ a small garden to plant crops like berries. i think neptune would be the one to manage it to keep his hands busy#theres also a table with a copy of the map used for planning out travel routes besides the one carried in the bag#in my gameplay i like to stack missions if theyre in the same location for efficiency and i think they do that too#the bookshelf is their shared collection of comics and favorite books. and theres a bulletin board with mementos and#i think maybe some nice letters theyve received. you can also see grovyles wanted poster as a keepsake#theres a back room covered by vines which separates the bedroom and i didnt get to draw it but tbh theres not much there#just their beds and collection of treasures. maybe some stuffed toys and gifts?#there are string lights hung around the ceiling in the main room#my art#myart#pokemon mystery dungeon#pmd#heropartnerweek#heropartnerweek2025#doodles#team satellite#oc#ocs

trying a whole bunch of stuff out all at once and seeing what sticks. the timelapse is a little chaotic as a result, but it was fun nonetheless, especially lining without any real sketch or planning. can't say i'll do that too often, but i'm glad i tried

LunarPunk 🌙
Lunarpunk is Solarpunk for the night dwellers. Similar philosophy and movement but with a darker, bioluminescent, celestial aesthetic. With a focus on Community, Sustainability, Reducing Light Pollution, growing Native Flora and creating a livable and thriving home for the night dwelling Fauna (nocturnal animals, insects, and people too), and obviously, don't forget the Punk.
Lunarpunk is a very new and slowly growing subgenre and community, please continue to add new ideas, add to the conversation of sustainability, do research in your own area about the local flora and fauna, what you can do to help reduce light pollution, even if it's just coming from your home, how to be more energy efficient, how to reduce waste, save money on electricity, see if you can switch your lights to LEDs, speak with your neighbors about switching as well.
Any little bit counts.

Instead of resembling the carefully researched ships of something like Master and Commander, the Revenge's deck is a wide, uncluttered stage that rarely moves unless it's caught in a storm. In a relationship-driven sitcom, there's no need to literally rock the boat. Storms exist purely for emotional punctuation, with weather and scenery acting as a kind of mood ring. So when Blackbeard hits rock bottom, his ship becomes a dark, roiling embodiment of inner torment. These emotive scenes are when OFMD's use of the Volume really stands out, suggesting a different philosophy from that of the shows and movies that use it as a catch-all replacement for location filming. In OFMD, it's one of many visual tools that bolsters the larger-than-life tone. For instance, during Lucius and Pete's reunion this season, the LED backdrops display a luminously sentimental peach-pink sunset. And on several occasions the show makes judicious use of a CGI moon, carefully placed above Stede and Blackbeard's heads during romantic moments. How big is the moon in Our Flag Means Death? As big and as close as it needs to be. A real moon just wouldn't work as well.
After complaining incessantly about The Volume (ie. LED backdrops) making Star Wars shows look ugly and fake, I've come to realize that it's best used in contexts where "looking fake" is a feature, not a bug.
#our flag means death#ofmd#if you're not familiar with The Volume it's explained in the article#studios are thrilled to find an “efficient” replacement for building real sets and filming on location with natural lighting#but surprise surprise it invariably looks like shit

i think raihan keeps a journal (after about the 20th time kabu suggested it to him after accidentally on purpose oversharing to his old man coworker who's always right about everything) and at first he feels corny about it. goes back and forth about posting suave selfies of himself at cafes with it because maybe validation would be motivating and make it all less uncomfortable. but thatd defeat the purpose of why kabu suggested it. he ultimately decides against posting about it. its nice to have something of his own thats different than his ponderings on hammerlocke history or the dragon species and ANYWAY. he secretly starts writing poetry
#shows up to post swsh hcs. hi#pokemon swsh#i also think he eventually gets into publishing his writing#studies on energy efficiency efforts based on his weather manipulation knowledge. helping a certain chairman with restoration#maybe about hammerlockes specific role in the darkest day of legend....#etc etc#but his poetry never sees the light of day#but i think of a scenario where leon finds it. but keeps the secret#pokemon hcs

yknow i understand that the memes are Not That Deep and it is fun to make jokes and relating w/others about like "oh no i started another wip when i have 90000 other wips im neglecting!!! i had another idea when i should be working on the projects i already have!!!" and i get that it is a good habit to like, finish what you start and the want to see things through and such. like shore i relate 2 these too. but ☝️! i must ask. is it really so bad to have many ideas. is it really so bad to have several idea pools to bounce back and forth from when perhapeth you get stuck on the current one youre on and wanna mix it up a little. IS IT SO WRONG to not finish a wip. must everything be a completed project that is pretty and cleaned up and perfectly done?! i do know, as i said, that it is Not That Deep. but also i do worry that perhaps for some people, it Is That Deep. i would personally like to reject the concept that all ideas must be completed start to finish in a nice little order otherwise it's "not right" or whatever. sometimes you start something and it doesnt really go anywhere! that's fine. sometimes you put it away for a few days or weeks or months or years and then you come back to it later!! whats wrong w/that. who is putting deadlines on these things, if they are in fact hobbies. business is i guess another story but im not TALKING about business. i am talking about fun teehee hobby time. cutting away imaginary rules and putting false pressures and having FUN why is it so SHAMEFUL to have many ideas and working on them as you GO!!!! be free. do whatever u want FOREVER!!!!!!!
#this sounds like im making an announcement. im not announcing shit im just babbling in a big run on paragraph lol#i think sometimes you hit a point where like#u see a hashtag relatable meme so many times that it is like yknow what. maybe this ISNT relatable to me anymore actually.#also i did not even see a meme about this at all today or even recently#i was just thinking about my various crochet projects as i was working on one and daydreaming about my various fics in progress#and the new idea i had for a fic / the new pattern i looked up earlier#because i LIKE having many things to work on at once#it keeps my momentum going#who give a shit if it's not organized or efficient or whatever the point is supposed to be#no imaginary rules in my HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#anyway. not saying the memes r a crime or anything LOL i dont really care ppl can do wahtever they want#but ya know. sometimes things start as a light joke and then they snowball Very Quickly#or maybe that is something more telling about my personality LOL#n e way. many have said i am probs undiagnosed ADHD and i do think id explode if i tried to limit myself to finishing one thing at a time#brain gets stuck on one thing and needs to fly around for a while to look at other things!! do not cage my bird.#okay bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how do you get the angle & fov so close to the original!! is it just trial & error or do you superimpose the photo atop the game somehow
recently ive been tracing the outlines of the rooms in Clip Studio Paint, and then capturing both CSP and the game in OBS and changing the blending mode for CSP to multiply!
i use CSP's perspective ruler tool to find the horizon in the reference picture and then compare it with any doors in the image (theyre very consistently 2m tall) to find the height at which the photo was taken, and then make a little platform in the game so the pov is at the same height
i then trial and error the approximate position by putting down square tiles and lining it up with the floor in the picture. i'll then build up the walls (theyre usually around 2.5m tall, so i just make them 13 blocks/2.5m tall and use the resizable cube to get the ceiling to the right height). then i do even more trial and error to find the FOV, focusing on matching the angle of vertical lines near the sides of the screen.
i use a kitchen cabinet inner corner piece to "save" my position, i'll back into it to get to the exact same spot every single time. i'll also place a small item (usually a clothing hook) on the wall on the spot my cursor needs to be so i can always face the right way!
often the images have to be rotated very slightly for the horizon to be perfectly horizontal. i'll always note down by how many degrees, and when i'm cropping the final screenshot to the correct aspect ratio i'll also rotate it to match :)
#not an interior#behind the scenes#i'd take screenshots to illustrate but it's starting to get late here#this new method is a lot more efficient than the perspective grids i used in that behind the scenes ask from may 21st#i think the most tedious part of this process is finding the view direction and the FOV#they affect each other so its a lot of back and forth#but once ive got my corner and hook set up i'm good to go :)#ACTUALLY the most tedious process is lighting/color matching#so much mixing & matching of similar paint shades and color temps. specifically getting white to look right is way harder than youd think#the next build ive got lined up for yall has all white walls and will be a great example!#it has both shades of orange and blue/green due to the lighting and ive just had to settle with matching the general brightness

X - WHEEL OF FORTUNE
#takostrations#umei#yes this is umei#this is what they look like when hunting at night#specifically on land on earth though#the shape prioritizes comfort and efficiency rather than appearances#its a very rarely seen form of them#if they realize they are being watched they quickly try to change back to a recognizably humanoid shape#when seeing this form it makes it a lot easier to understand how they keep getting mistaken for a cryptid when (rarely) seen on their hunti#-ng trips. imagine locking eyes with this thing late at night in a dimly lit forest and it scurries away out of sight#but you can still see its eyes reflecting light staring directly at you#when in this form they also arent suppressing their chromatophores' natural desire to mimic the nearby surroundings#so they blend into the landscape very easily

killer sans has canonically committed arson

look at his smug little grin
#killer analysis core. thanks mutual for posting about being free and cringe i say as i worry about being wrong and cringe#ok but actually i have thoughts......thoughts im not sure i'm ready to express yet about killer from what ive learned from the analysis#btw based off how overjoyed and almost surprised chara seems in this i'd say they didnt tell him to do that at all#meaning killer burned down grillby's all on his own with no other influence. he chose to do that for some reason??? why???? idk!#he seems a lot more violent than dust would ever be i mean dust is doing his genos for efficiency#and horror would only attack during a mood swing and thats just towards humans#even though horror could probably match killer's level of cruelty in this but only towards a human#either way all i have to say is killer is turning out in a very different light to me after this analysis :3 in a good way ofc#the guy is simply just a lot more cruel than i expected it seems. good to know i suppose!#tricule rant

smashing my head through a wall THE FOUR GIFTS ARE WHAT HUMANITY IS MADE OF.
four blessings from the brothers: creation, destruction, knowledge, and choice. to bring the judgment forth one must collect four relics that light created to aid ozma in his task to redeem humanity, and summon the gods back to remnant.
each relic contains a spirit embodying their respective gift to humanity. each spirit being in chains, tying them to their respective relics.
if humanity is redeemed, they will be made whole again. they will be granted the gifts they are missing compared to the first humanity.
...
gee, i wonder where those gifts that would be granted for humanity went. almost like they were locked up into some objects required to summon the gods for the judgment, just waiting to be freed.
such mystery ;)

LEDs based on transition metal dichalcogenides display reduced efficiency losses
Light-emitting diodes (LEDs), semiconductor-based devices that emit light when an electric current flows through them, are key building blocks of numerous electronic devices. LEDs are used to light up smartphone, computer, and TV displays, as well as light sources for indoor and outdoor environments. Past studies consistently observed a decline in the performance and efficiency of LED devices based on two-dimensional (2D) materials at high current densities. This loss of efficiency at high current densities has been linked to high levels of interaction between excitons, which cause a process known as exciton-exciton annihilation (EEA). Essentially, the properties of some 2D materials prompt excitons to strongly interact with each other, causing excitons to "deactivate" one another. This results in a significant waste of energy that could otherwise contribute to the lighting of LEDs.
