The Nobleman or 양반 (yangban): The smiling face represents the bluff and composure that an aristocrat is often known to have. The chin is a separate piece from the top of the mask, and the actors can lean forward and back to make the mask smile or frown as needed.

This monk who abandons his doctrines, or 취발이 (chwibari): Chwibari was originally a monk, but he had no intention of joining the monastic order, so he came down to the world and wanders. Represented with a forehead full of wrinkles and spots.

The widow or, 부네 (Punae/bune): represented to be a widow, or a kisaeng ( a woman who sang, danced, or played an instrument to provide entertainment for company at a drinking party), or a mistress of the Yangban. She has a very small mouth, round cheeks and forehead- giving a general look of happiness good-humor.

god, Search For A Hero my beloved. for the Search For A Hero version of their team-up, I think I'd write it something like this

I think the biggest reason Tim says no when Jason asks him is Jason asks Tim too early in the arc. as the storyline develops, Tim gets more and more desperate to best Ulysses, which is what pushes him to make the mistake that gets Ulysses' siblings killed. he's in a tight spot and he misjudges the situation. (i think the guilt he carries from that moment is one of the biggest inciting incidents for becoming Red Robin) so, i'd introduce Jason to the plot just a little later. just as Tim is on the edge of desperation. Tim isn't entirely adverse to working with villains if he thinks he can stay on top of them. so instead of sending Jason to prison, i think if Jason came to Tim at the right time, Tim would begrudging accept Jason's help

part of Tim's plan would be leveraging Jason's power with the mafia/mob scene in Gotham. they'd agree that topping the gangs would just cause a power vacuum (i'm pretty sure that's actually addressed in SFAH but i could be misremembering) so it's more about a balancing act, which is where Jason thrives. Tim is right on the cusp of being willing to do more morally questionable things, so it'd be a fun internal war for him to second-guess himself at every turn.

there would be such a delightful lack of trust in their partnerships. TIm has *zero* reason to trust Jason, and while Jason likes Tim enough, i don't think he's naive enough to put any trust in Tim. so there'd be moments where they don't fill each other in on aspects of the plan. Jason kills people behind Tim's back, Tim keys in his cop friend behind Jason's back. it builds the tension between them with a lot of hot arguments that get more and more charged.

the jealousy. there would just have to be a scene where Jason gets wildly jealous over Ulysses' complex over Tim. Ulysses tries so hard to pit himself as like, Tim's biggest adversary, his opposite. and Jason would *despise* that. sure, Jason is working with Tim, but part of the fun is that they're still enemies as they do it. i think it'd be sort of fun to have the moment where Ulysses blows Tim up be something Jason witnesses and he raises unholy hell about. because if anyone is going to kill Tim Drake, it's going to be him. and that angry possessiveness is what makes the romantic/sexual tension something neither of them can ignore anymore.

Tim deciding to put on the Red Robin suit to fight Ulysses would be where Jason just. goes full tilt possessive "he's mine i marked him that's my suit. see. mine. i said so." and Tim would push back but. what ground does he have to stand on bc he could've picked any suit with any cowl to protect his head after the blast, but he did choose Jason's. it was his own open invitation to Jason in a way. and well. they fuck nasty about it. and then Damian becomes Robin, so why not Tim keep the suit and just maybe, keep Jason in his back pocket.

and!! for the Battle for the Cowl version. man on one hand i love "Tim accepts Jason's offer to be his Robin" fics but i feel they lack a bite to them, so this is personally how i would try to pull it off, while being relatively in character.

so the biggest thing for me is, TIm agrees to be Jason's Robin not because he trusts or likes Jason, but for the same reasons he became Robin in the first place: to keep Batman stable. being Jason's Robin isn't about wanting to work with Jason, it would be Tim knowing there's no world Jason is ever going to stop and seeing Jason slowly tip over the edge of madness and well. if Tim was self-sacrificial enough to do it for Bruce and attempt to do it for Jean-Paul, he can do it for Jason.

him agreeing would i think startle Jason. like, Jason's offer was never particularly serious because he's at the point he knows Tim wants nothing to do with him. so when Tim says yes it sort of. snaps Jason out of the rage BftC puts him in. he's so startled but enticed by the thought, he willingly agrees to stipulations Tim sets, like no murder. like even if just to see where this goes, Jason jumps on the chance.

i'd really want to keep Dick and Damian as Batman and Robin, and the weird divide that would exist with Dick/Damian and Jason/Tim both running around as Batman/Robin and how off kilter that puts Gotham. like Gotham is so baffled by it, it actually makes criminals easier to handle. because they have no clue if they're getting the Batman who needs Robin to keep him in line, or the Robin who needs Batman to keep him in line. people know there's two Batmans, two Robins and no one knows quite what to do with that information. who's the "real" Batman? who's the "real" Robin? and on the personal level, the divide between Dick and Tim would be unmistakable. Dick would know what Tim's doing and try to convince him Jason is a lost cause bc well, Dick at this point *really* believes Jason is a lost fucking cause. So Dick's genuine care and concern for Tim just drives a further wedge between them.

i think there'd need to be a scene where Tim flat out asks if Jason even *wants* to be Batman. in a sort of attempt to slowly ween Jason off of being Batman, but also because i don't think Jason ever really wants to be Batman, he just wants Batman to be what his vision of justice is. and it'd be the first real heart to heart they have, discussing the legacy of the Robin and Batman mantles and how it's affected them. it'd be heated, but it'd be their first real conversation as just. Jason and Tim.

to me, i think the end goal of this AU would be Tim successfully "taming" Jason, and not in like a soft way, but in like a manipulative way, where even Jason knows that's what Tim is doing, but he just goes along with it because it's the first real human connection he's had in a while. also, i would work in Scarlet, Jason's sidekick in Batman & Robin (2009) as like. a pseudo daughter figure for them to help Jason find his humanity a bit. so it's not just Tim as Jason's rock, but also this misguided girl they'd both try to help. and well, then they ride into the sunset and all that, but still have a complicated, toxic dynamic they're both aware is unhealthy, but as balanced as it can be.

one of the reasons why i like wangxian so much is that they are the ultimate background characters with ultimate background abilities in any mainstream media

let me put it like this: if netflix for some reason decided to make a series based on the world of mdzs, they will likely focus more on the juniors' coming-of-age story or the 3zun political drama-turned-tragedy — bc these are the stories that are usually made into series/films. wangxian would be the background characters who turn up at the end of different arcs to show us what actually happened and solve the mysteries for those who weren't able to piece everything together beforehand. then we will see their confession (out of NOWHERE) and we will get like one frame of their wedding in the credits and that's IT

and THANK GOD mdzs is not that kind of story — and we get to follow wangxian through most of it and see them falling into their relationship and get married and everything in-between

the part about their skills is more complicated and based on my preferences. for example, in naruto i was always fascinated with fuuinjutsu — but it was rarely mentioned and used actively in the story. ichigo, despite being a shiba on his father's side and the shiba clan being famous for their kido masters (if i remember correctly), doesn't use kido even though i really wanted him to. in the reincarnation manhwas and novels it is nearly impossible to find a main character who uses a spear instead of a sword

i see this in a lot of media, really: authors preferring to make their characters use ordinary powers and just being 100x more powerful than any other who uses the same techniques or just making the fight unique enough that the main character wins even though they don't possess any secret technique

and then there are wangxian who use musical cultivation, there is wei wuxian who invented the whole new way of cultivating and uses talismans and invents new ones. i couldn't be more happy than i already am, truly

i was thinking about a buddie au where single dad eddie who was in a toxic relationship previously meets the totally cute and absolutely lovely blood splatter analyst buck and is so happy about it because buck even loves chris and they all get along so well. but what eddie doesn't know is that buck is a vigilante serial killer part-time.

(silly au where nothing has a consequence and when eddie finds out he's like...well they're evil i guess and good men are so hard to find as a single parent :/... because you know, he matches buck's freak)

i also think a lot about eris as sort of like the first of the war renegades. some new thing in between the traditional renegade (who leaves gallifrey for personal reasons, changes their name, has a point of being anti-time lord) and the traditional deserter (runs from war specifically). the war renegade as a hybrid of these two things, time lords who follow the culturally familiar path of the renegade but only because of and within the context of the war. narvin would be another. the subculture has to change when the entire sociopolitical landscape of gallifrey changes. these are time lords who likely wouldn't have gone renegade if they weren't radicalized by the war. their entire relationship with the planet is different from the traditional renegade so they do things differently. keep their names, yk. i think it'd be neat

South Park RPG

ok SO this is super nerdy and super cringy BUT I'm so curious what your opinions are on this.

imagine you have endless resources to help create the most badass SP RPG game (I'm not talking snow day level, which in my own opinion was a major let down compared to TSoT and TFbW. not saying it had its own highlights or that it can't be a thing on its own; I just think it was marketed wrong. it's more on the level of phone destroyer and not nearly the quality of the other rpg's, and I think we can all agree on that at least).

say matt and trey wanted to end this decade with a badass third installment to their RPG SP lineup; the kind that makes SoT and FbW look like beta tests... what would you want to see in it?? the sky's the limit, and specs in technology aren't a limit. what would you want to see?

personally, i would love to see a multiverse type thing (and yes, they would make fun of themselves for doing this by breaking the fourth wall constantly like kyle saying multiverses are stupid like in the panderverse), following along the lines of a game like Baldur's Gate 3 meets Witcher 3 meets just normal SP dark humor where it's pretty D&D based, but with a SP twist.

like, they can start out kinda like the boys in stranger things where they're just playing a game of D&D. and they can have varying specs, but my thinking is (these are all based on level 8 in D&D, and yes, they all multiclass because they're all dramatic as hell): 1. Cartman- he would TELL everyone he's the grand wizard king, but in reality, he spends more effort manipulating others than actually studying actual magic to... do real magic lmao. like, he CAN do real magic, but only rarely. so in D&D I see him multiclassing as a rogue (5) and barbarian (3), which align well with all his skills in all the games including phone destroyer where he primarily plays as a tank, with decent but not great offense, fantastic health, and pretty much no ability to help out teammates with healing. so he's not actually a wizard, though he still claims he is, and also at the most random times displays actual magic (oftentimes when those around him are in utter chaos, which he thrives on).

proficiencies: deception, intimidation, persuasion, insight, sleight of hand, performance.

2. Kyle - given his high elf background, I think he'd actually be a wizard (5) as well as a cleric (3) given all his healing/rallying powers in previous games. this would be hilarious with cartman claiming he's the 'grand wizard' when kyle is literally a wizard - obviously with lots of fire powers (he's got that ginger/new jersey rage). and in my mind, he has a lot of pressure from his family in fulfilling his royal duties while at the same time being utterly sick of the traditions and just wanting to fucking actually make meaningful change in society. and he just is naturally good at fire spells. also, him being an elf while all the others are humans gives cartman all the more reason to rip on him. just like in the other games, he's lower on health but fantastic with healing and rallying the group, and while he doesn't have the best health, he can also deal an incredible amount of damage from afar.

proficencies: arcana, history, persuasion, insight, religion, medicine..

3. Stan canonically is a ranger (5), but his multiclass in my headcanon is bard (3). the ranger comes first out of necessity - he learns hunting from his uncle, etc, and he loves nature and animals but hates killing animals. he learns to play the lyre, which helps to calm down his tendency towards nihilism, hence the bard. also, ranger is lowkey my fave and perhaps underrated class to play in bg3 cuz I can call on my wolf in battle, and stan has sparky (who is totally half wolf, as stan explains in S1). he later learns that music helps dispel the darkness he sees in the world, hence his draw towards bard. like in the other games, he serves as a fairly well-rounded soilder, with decent health and damage up close and also an ability to heal- but you have to know how to use him strategically like with his Sparky companion to get the best out of him.

proficencies: animal handling, survival, athletics, nature, perception, performance.

4. Kenny I think would be Monk (5), Warlock (3). these are particularly for his main character without alter egos as Kenny, though his Mysterion and princess kenny roles would absolutely play a role - Mysterion more in the multiverse and when he's trying to make sense of why he can't die, and princess kenny when he needs to use charisma with those of higher social backgrounds. he obviously is trying to figure out why he can't die, and obvs the cult of Cthulu would have to make a comeback in the story. like other games, he has fantastic damage up close, and if the player knows how to play strategically, the best special powers of all come when he's dead (but the player has to be smart enough to know how to use those to their advantage).

proficiencies: stealth, acrobatics, insight, deception, sleight of hand, survival.

anyways, in my mind, they start out on silly quests with these stats, but eventually the game shifts unexpectedly from d&d/baulders gate style to a more multiverse twist where the other boys' personas are introduced (like superheroes, the other personas in phone destroyer, etc). there would be a cool three-act story surrounding it, and of course New Kid would make a comeback (and probably be the one who can control the multiverse like they can time. maybe the stick of truth has something to do with it). new kid would also partner with prof chaos as heavily foreshadowed in the end of tFbW (I have my own ideas as well for professor chaos lol)

this would just be at the beginning of the game as i have so many ideas i've been poring into a future project, but my mind immediately goes to game ideas first rather than story ideas, so I have to try to get them more into that storytelling fic area instead. i'd love to hear what you would like to see in another RPG.

I wanna say that like 80-90% of the time I just feel like a guy bein' a dude, but then there's this 10-20% where I just feel like. A goblin. A werewolf. A certified creechur. I can't really extrapolate it better than that with my limited vocab.

Most of the time I wanna grill and learn woodworking and make puns. Sometimes I wanna gnaw on femurs and scuttle around and be indecipherable but approachable as an Entity. And I don't really know what that means yet tbh.

No you don't understand, Anne and Marcy third-wheeling Sasha during the dinner episode (and Sasha third-wheeling herself during battle of the bands) is so important to me. Anne and Marcy have come so far having left Sasha behind. They're happy and confident and strong and closer than ever, all because they were finally free. Because Sasha wasn't there to stunt their growth. Despite how much they love Sasha and how much they don't want to admit the distance helped them, it's true: Anne and Marcy were both victims of a toxic friend and they're learning to move on together. Ik it sounds like I hate Sasha because whenever I write about her I make her out to be a massive piece of shit but that's because... she kinda was! And I love her for that! I love these three, I love their story and their drama and toxicity (I was soooo happy when it was revealed Marcy wasn't as great as she initially seemed like - yes! The CONFLICT is CONFLICTING). Like yes marcanne is my obsession, I have marcanne brain worms, but I think one of the reasons marcanne works so well is because of Sasha. Their past, present and future with her have such a huge impact in Anne and Marcy's relationship with each other and with themselves. You can't separate these three and I love it, how easy it is to ship two of them without making it weird by leaving the third one behind (ironically, Sasha the Character is included by leaving Sasha the Person behind).

Marcanne to me is about two childhood friends living in a toxic situation healing together after leaving, only able to fall in love now that they are free and more comfortable with themselves and each other. They couldn't fully connect with each other before - not really. Anne didn't see the importance of listening to what Marcy had to say nor did she take it too seriously, and Marcy was simply not in contact with real people in the real world at all. None of this was Sasha's fault entirely, but she did third-wheel Marcy and she was possesive with Anne and was just a generally terrible influence on her, while reminding Marcy that, well, she didn't really matter all that much to anyone. Removing Sasha from the equation is not enough but it's a necessary step towards knowing each other better and the fact that they so easily became closer than ever just shows their eagerness to be together for real this time. Marcy's increased confidence and Anne's newfound empathy and admiration for her friend wouldn't have been possible with Sasha's domineering influence present. If they were to fall in love, it'd be because Sasha wasn't there to stop it.

I imagine that, once she finds out, she'd be furious, but mostly just devastated. Her friends only found love once she was gone. As if they think they'll be better off without her.

Actually. Thinking about it because of my last reblog, but to people who get into romantic relationships (including demiro people and such): why do people make it so awkward when an unrequited crush happens?

I've seen people end really strong friendships over the other person having feelings, but if that happened to me I feel like I'd just... be flattered? And take it as a sign that the person really likes me, and be glad? Crushes are just a form of affection, isn't it kind of the same thing as a friend telling you "I really like you as a person"?

If you wanted a relationship with them, it means you like them a lot, but just because they don't return it, you... leave?? Even though you felt that close to them?? Can people not just enjoy the feeling of having a crush and treat it as a casual thing that's just there? Why is it such a big deal. Having a crush is a pretty pleasant feeling from what people say. Just enjoy the feeling. What's the problem here
