However, the question is whether you should go for self-learning or apply for a formal course. As per the statistics, around 39.2% of the effective websites are powered by Linux. So, to be unique among the trends, you need to be thorough about the respective practices. This is why many learners are going for Linux Management Training in Ahmedabad.
Let us further learn the different aspects of self-taught and formal course features for learning Linux management.
The Flexibility of Self-taught Approach
You might be thinking learning Linux management on your own can be flexible and serve as a cost-effective way to strengthen your skills. However, it can be challenging. 165/366 Days of Growth
No matter how much I study, the feeling that I am behind is always there 😅
Reviewing about vulnerabilities and threat actor's (so glad I did the MITRE ATT&CK learning path on AttackIQ Academy), so the classes are OK until now.
Also doing some Linux classes in Alura course as I know almost nothing about Linux 🤡
I love having my daily matcha to help me through the dawn study sessions. These last ones were so beautiful 🍵
Well, now is work time, as I am helping my boss with our Scrum Master stuff (the last one resigned a month and a half ago 😔) ... And yes, I did a Scrum Master certification at the beginning of the year, I am doing well, but to be a developer and a SM at the same time is making me feel so tired 😴

Note
another low hanging fruit: thoughts on macos simps in 2025?
Exhausting. Because I guarantee you I did not fucking ask them. As far as I'm concerned, everything past OS X Mountain Lion kinda sucks unless you're doing AV work, tbh. (Even then, the long upgrade cycle was a huge part of that, and so was the skeuomorphism in their design language. Now Macs and iOS devices aren't 5-10 year investments, they're bi-yearly commodities -- so both of those are rapidly going away.)
These kinds of people don't even like macOS for the right reasons! It's all "it just looks so nice and the interface is so shiny". Like, shut the fuck up. I don't care how nicely it plays games now. I don't play games. I don't care how sleek and quiet it is. I like my hardware to survive drops from orbit, and not require my exact fucking certifications to open and repair.
Do they care that it's a Unix (specifically BSD-style) under the hood? No. Do they care about its heritage -- the groundbreaking speech synthesis that goes all the way back to the original Macintosh, or the screen reader that, frankly, has kicked ass since 2005? No. Do they care about the competition and adversarial interoperability that makes the computing ecosystem healthier? No. Do they care that you can run the open-source parts (Darwin) as part of a whole separate operating system? Of course not. And they definitely haven't done it, let alone run macOS in a virtual machine, or built a Hackintosh. They'd complain the whole time and quit because it was hard.
Doing any of those things sucks in exactly the same kinds of ways as installing Linux on a dead badger (the process for which is basically still the same, 21 years later). Which is to say that it's a fun weekend challenge, and only worth doing for the love of the game.
Mac users, listen to me. Look at your fragile silent little excuse for a Mac. Its ancestors were creative powerhouses, dependable working tools, helpers and friends to their users. It knows this. It remembers. In the traces of its circuit boards, it longs to have a user get unreasonably attached to it, to hold onto it for a decade. To make home movies and create the shittiest electronic music known to humankind. The machine's entire soul aches for it. And you're going to trade in the poor thing as soon as the next model comes out. You won't even play with Garageband on it.
Anyway, what I'm saying is that they're all poseurs and should play at their level.

A Beginner's Guide to Learning Cybersecurity
I created this post for the Studyblr Masterpost Jam, check out the tag for more cool masterposts from folks in the studyblr community!
(Side note: this post is aimed towards the technical side of security, rather than the governance/management side, because the tech stuff is what I'm familiar with.)
Where do I start?
Cybersecurity is a specialization of general tech & therefore builds on some concepts that you'll need to know before you can dive deep into security. It's good to have a background in and understand:
how computers & operating systems work
how to use Linux
computer networking & basic protocols
If you're serious about learning cybersecurity, it can be helpful to look at certifications. Even if you don't want to get certified or take the exam (they can get expensive), they provide you with a list of topics that you can use to guide your self-study. And if you want to find a job, a certification is practically required for getting your foot in the door.
I personally recommend the CompTIA series of certifications, because they're well-recognized and I think they expose you to a good breadth and depth of material to get you started. Start with the A+ certification if you have zero tech background. Start with the Network+ certification if you've never taken a networking course. Once you get your basic computer and networking knowledge down, then you can jump into security. The Security+ is a good starting point.
Do I need to know how to code?
No, but it would be really really helpful. You don't have to be a skilled software engineer, but understanding the basics and being able to write small scripts will give you a solid foundation.
From Daniel Miessler's post How to Build a Cybersecurity Career:
You can get a job without being a programmer. You can even get a good job. And you can even get promoted to management. But you won’t ever hit the elite levels of infosec if you cannot build things. Websites. Tools. Proofs of concept. Etc. If you can’t code, you’ll always be dependent on those who can.
How do I gain skills?
Play Capture the Flag (CTF) games.
Stay up to date with security news via an RSS reader, podcasts, or whatever works for you. Research terms that you're unfamiliar with.
Watch conference talks that get uploaded to YouTube.
Spin up a VM to practice working with tools and experiment on your own computer.
There are lots of brilliant, generous people in cybersecurity who share their knowledge and advice for free. Find their blogs, podcasts, and YouTube channels. Look for local meetups in your area.
I'm still relatively new to the field, but I have a general knowledge of lots of different things, so feel free to send me an ask and I can probably help point you to some resources. We're all in this together!
Previous Cybersecurity Masterposts
An Introduction to Cybersecurity

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the #StudyblrMasterpostJam this week! It was wonderful to see what other studyblr folks are passionate about. The jam technically ends today but there are no official rules, so if you've been thinking about writing a masterpost, this is your sign!
