i think everyone forgets what a good movie ant-man was and how it had everything a marvel movie needed.

✓ cohesive plot that actually makes sense ✓ fleshed-out side characters that add depth to the story and protagonist ✓ an antagonist with a good/real motive ✓ being funny, but not at the cost of the story and not for simple comedic relief ✓ character interactions that makes sense (*cough*whatthefuckwasthemorbiusendcreditsscene*cough*) ✓ plot points that draw on human emotion

i love scott lang, our anti-capitalist king and bestest father in the world. i love luis, the heart and comedy of the story, the person who stuck by scotty the entire time. i love cassie, the adorable daughter of scott who refused to believe that the father who was always there for her was a bad person. i love the comparison of hope and darren, how they were treated by hank and how they decided to handle their betrayl (with darren cross being the "bad" and hope pym being the "good"). i love hope pym, the woman still grieving for her mother, finding forgiveness in her heart for the father that pushed her away but inevitable still cares for her. i love the campiness of luis' narration style. i love love LOVE the ant-man movie, it is definitely one of my favorite marvel films.

I'm feeling kinda down for some reason. Have any happy or fun stories to share?

Aaaw, I’m sorry you’re feeling down, Anon. I think I got a story or two that will hopefully cheer you up.

Story #1 - When Cassie was like 2 or 3, I introduced her to The Lion King. It’s my favorite Disney movie; I had to.

She loved it. More specifically, she loved the first like 5 minutes of it. The Circle of Life, because it showed all the animals. You’d have thought it was as good as a zoo trip. She’d point to the screen and shout the name of the animals. She got a little bit confused, of course, like she called the wildebeest a cow and the antelope as reindeer. Close enough since she was little, but whatever.

And she loved baby Simba. Every time he came on screen, she’d tell me, “He’s so cute, Daddy!” And she’d giggle every time he sneezed and go “Aaaaaawwwww.” I mean, I really can tell you word for word her Circle of Life commentary. As soon as the song was over, she’d clap excitedly and go, “Again!” We’d only watch the Circle of Life at least 4 times in a row.

There was also one time where I held her up like Rafiki does with Simba, and she was giggling so hard through the whole thing and kept squirming. She thought it was the best thing ever.

Story #2 - Fast forward to my house arrest era. Cassie was over for the weekend, and Luis had just eaten a large, satisfying meal and fell asleep on the couch while watching a movie. I mean, this dude was out.

And he’s a heavy sleeper too. The heaviest I’ve ever met. He has one of those alarm clocks that the loud and obnoxious ship’s foghorn that would wake me up on the other side of the house back in the day. And it took at least five minutes of it to blare before it finally pulled Luis out of sleep. It was awful.

Anyway where was I? Oh yeah! So anyway, Luis is asleep and Cassie and I were feeling kinda bored and restless, and for us? That equals trouble. And since I have a good set of art supplies, that can equal trouble too. We gave Luis a full face paint job, and Cassie painted his nails light purple. I think that’s lilac or lavender or whatever, you get the idea. He slept through all of that. And then some.

When he finally woke up, he went to the bathroom first, right? I can still hear Luis’s scream in my head. I wish I could play it for you honestly 😂��.

We need less power-couples and more fail-couples. A pair that individually are disasters but together make everything even worse. Not in a toxic sense, they are just both so lacking in common sense that being together creates a shenanigans feedback-loop. They will become everyone's problem.
