#Lumity and Huntlow were amazing

I want to rant about how YA dystopian novel romances suck while I'm sick, so here we go. These are just my personal opinions, so if you like this type of stuff, good for you

First off, Hunger Games. I read this series about 2-3 years ago, and I thought the first book was pretty good until they had to put the Peta and Katniss romance in there. I do not care about angsty romance, I want to read about how corrupt the world is and I want President Snow to be tortured for all of the people he killed. I do NOT want romance, the series was perfectly good without it. I lost a lot of interest in it reading the 2nd and 3rd book. The best part of the 2nd book was Nuts and Volts, I could not care for the fake pregnancy. 3rd book was just boring as hell. Too angsty for my taste. And WHY did they kill off half of the characters I actually liked?? Their deaths felt rushed and pointless. This may just be a rant about things that piss me off in YA dystopian novels.

Second and lastly, Divergent. I didn't even finish the series. I stopped reading it in the second book. I thought the concept of Divergent was good, and I thought the world was cool but I could not CARE for Tris. I had to look her name up for this. I thought she was just boring and forgettable (although it has been a while since I read the books) I liked it at first, but same with Hunger Games, I lost all interest when it came to the romance plot. I liked Four better when he was just Four, Tobias sucked. Also the age gap in the books is about 2 years. In the movies its NINE YEARS. A 25 year old and a 16 year old. A ADULT AND A MINOR. In the books it makes more sense, since the age gap is only 2 years. I DO NOT NEED ROMANCES IN YA DYSTOPIAN NOVELS. And the second book. THE SECOND BOOK. OH MY GOD. I only was able to read until about chapter 7 because it was so boring. It was just Tris and Tobias being angsty and in love and Tris wearing oversized shirts and either shorts or no pants.

I also want to talk a bit about Harry Potter and how I completely lost interest after the 4th book. I stopped in the middle of the 5th book because OH MY GODS WAS IT BORING. I didn't even understand most of the plot! Also they did the Weasley twins dirty. Fred did not deserve to die and neither did Hedwig.

That's about it. If anyone has any good fiction books with no romance plots and/or romance doesn't become the theme in the books, please tell me.

Lumity - you're glad you finaly got canon healthy wlw couple in a kid show and became obsessed with it. Also you like highschool romance trope and probably is taken.

Boschlow - you miss s1 Lumity potential and hate the way it was done in s2. Also you want Boscha to be your gf.

Boschamity - you miss s1 Amity and hate the way she was was done in s2. You believe deep inside Boscha is a good person, who has the same trauma as Amity and she could become better too if there was anyone for her. It's very likely that you're a bitch and used to have bitch friends who left you for some reason, but I can't judge you for it, cause I ship it too.

Willuz - you think Amity's arc was rushed. You feel bad for Willow, cause she was "separated" from Luz and Amity in s2 and think she became an ooc in s2 and miss Willow from s1.

Lunter - you think Lumity and Huntlow were written bad. "Highschool romance" is never your otp. You prefer classic (in any way). You're probably on aro spec or believe in soulmates. You and your crush always tease each other. You're good at keeping secrets.

Goldric - it started as a joke, but you don't think it's a joke anymore. When Huntlow appeared you realized you went too far to change anything. Also you just want to have more mlm couples in media.

Huntmira - it started as a respond to goldric shippers, but then you realized it actually has a great potential and their dynamic would be amazing.

Gunter - I haven't seen you, but I really hope you just want all good things for both of them and also think Gus is criminally overlooked.

Raeda - you're bigger than ship wars. Love between teens is overrated and love between adults is underrated. You love suffering and wanna be both Raine and Eda.

Gustholomule - you think it's extremely unfair that Gus doesn't have a partner.

Skasha - you love Boscha and want all the best for her, but you're fine with her being an antagonist and Amity being happy with Luz.

Skamity - for some reason you dislike Lumity, but want Amity to be a good guy and want her to be in healthy and equal relationship with someone who's like Luz. You probably don't really like Amity, but still want good things for her.

Odalador - you want Blight family to be actually good, happy and health family and I can't blame you for it. Also you wanna know more about Alador, Darius and Odalia's friendship in the past. You also think deep inside Odalia isn't as bad or at least want her to have at least some good traits.

Dalador - you really hate Odalia and want Alador and kids to be happy, but not with her. You also think Odalia was a third wheel in their friendship and, again, you hate her in all possible ways

Odarius - Im not sure if you're exist, but if you do, you just find them both hot and want them to fuck. If you also ship them with Alador as a poly ship, then you want them not only to fuck, but also to have some romantic stuff together. But if you're a straight girl, then you're probably just wanna Odalia in this ship.

Daraine - you think Darius as bi and you probably ship Daraeda too. Also you think Darius is underrated.

Amillow - Willow is your favourite character and you hate the way she doesn’t get enought screen time. You also think Amity's redemtion arc was rushed. You probably also had a close friend, who left you and you still miss them and wanna bring them back even tho they hurted you. You also probably still believe in aroace lesbian Willow.

Veenter - you don't exist, but you wanna rewrite toh cuz you see too much of wasted potential in it. Also you have a lot of headcanons about Vee and want her to have an actual role.

Huntlow - you enjoy Amity's redemtion arc and Willow's development. And Hunter is your favourite chatacter. You probably don't have a partner, but very want to.

Guslow - you believe that friends are always more important than a partner. You truly believe in friends-to-lovers and probably don't really believe in m/f friendship.

Amiter - you really love Wittebane and Blight lores and hate how they were revealed. Also you love forbidden love trope.

Veesha - you want everyone to have a partner. You probably also used to ship Tom x Janna and just love "Mysterious demon x a Human who like mystery and demons" trope and want Masha to be inckuded in a Hexsquad. Also you wanna know more about Masha and adore Moringmark's comics.

Veelow - you don't like Huntlow and think Willow should get a gf instead. You also can see this fragile simality between Willow and Vee, but can't explain it.

Bris - you love Bria and wish she ever appeared again

Brisha - you love both Boscha and Bria and think antagonists are more interesting than protagonists

There's Adelaide Edalyn Noceda-blight and Astrid Camila Noceda-Blight. They're both 14 and even though they have the exact same DNA, they're very different lol. (And they were both carried by Amity cuz magic 👍)

Adelaide takes all the tracks at hexside cuz she's a queen, but she's actually VERY talented at oracle magic and basically gets it from Odalia. Astrid only takes Bard and Abominations. She's cool like that and is chill with the violin that was passed down to her from Raine.

Lumity also has a 12 year old son. Manuel Alexander Noceda-Blight 💪💪 (he was carried by Luz also becuz magic) now he takes beastkeeping, potions, and healing.

HUNTLOW is a whole nother thing. They weren't able to have children naturally cuz... hunter don't have nothing down there, really. So they adopted a little baby in need YAYYYYYY

Basil Wren Park, they're also 12 and Manuel's best friend. Their gender is yes, like mangle from fnaf. They take plants, potions, and construction.

Gustholomule is canon in my mind, and they have a 10 year old girl named Iris Catherine Porter. She felt pressured to do illusions because of how great and amazing her dad is, but later realized her true love and talent were for abominations, and her parents were very supportive.

is Raeda the least problematic of the 2 main ships Lumity and Huntlow? What criticism do you have for that?

This is going to be a short response and not like my usual replies to asks because there has been a death in the family today, and I’m not feeling well enough to dedicate the time and energy that I normally would into these.

In short, Raeda is better than Lumity and Huntlow because it has some setup and it doesn’t have the same issues as the other two.

Lumity suffers from Luz’s constant lying or secret keeping, even after she promises Amity that she’ll stop this behavior. It’s thoughtless and doesn’t indicate a lot of respect for one’s partner. Raeda avoids this trap with Raine keeping their lucidity from Eda because they were in a highly dangerous situation where they could end up being captured, tortured, or killed. Any person who knew about them posed a risk to Raine, themselves, and their family. That is a situation where someone is more than justified to keep secrets.

Huntlow has the issue of there being poorly set up. There’s no real chemistry aside from Hunter blushing, and the way that he calls her “Captain” goes from a cute nickname to a reference toward Philip, who was also someone he cared for who was in a position of power over him. Raeda avoids this by having them be exes, meaning that the show doesn’t have to detail them falling in love from the start, but instead shows where they started and the direction of where it grew to. It isn’t them falling for the first time; it’s them getting back into the groove, maybe with a newer dynamic to it. A lot more can be implied or referenced and suggested.

Having said that, there isn’t a lot of new content, development, or “spice” to really get them going again. They don’t get enough focus for them to be as memorable, in my opinion.

Another thing I’ll add is The Owl House. The amount of shit Lumity got for “sexualising kids” just because they were in a same-sex relationship. They were the most innocent, healthy, sanitary couple you could even ask for. In a show about demons, witchcraft and an evil emperor, somehow they choose to hate on the wlw couple.

FYI, there are multiple queer relationships in the show but nobody says that THEY’RE “inappropriate”, probably due to the fact that they present at hetero ships. Primarily Huntlow. They’re in a m/f relationship but Willow is still pan and Hunter is still bi. They’re still in a queer relationship and they’re both kids, yet there are never any accusations about them being sexual.

I’ll also mention Raeda as some people do assume Raine is male. F/nb relationships are still queer. But nobody was upset at them being in love as kids because they assumed it was just “a regular old straight couple”. Eda is confirmed to be bi and Raine is obviously nonbinary. They are queer, despite what they “look like”.

(No hate to either ships, they’re amazing. I’m just using them as examples to point out to double-standard for same-sex couples and het-presenting couples)

I love that Huntlow wasn’t technically confirmed. I love that we got some interactions that could be interpreted as romantic, but aren’t explicitly that. It’s like the reverse of blink-and-you-miss-it gay rep. If this was any other show Huntlow would have been explicitly canon and Lumity would be relegated to ambiguously romantic shoulder-touching in the background. We’re relegating the straight ship to fan works this time. Love to see it.

The way TTT is a really good set-up episode for an amazing series finale but FTF and WAD read like expensive Lumity fanfics with Huntlow as the side pairing written by a 12 year old:

1.) In FTF they made the characters walk from Evelyns house to TOH for no reason. Mind you this place is the first one we see after Philip name drops Evelyn when talking to Luz in TTT.

2.) Hunter gets a power-up for no fucking reason. He doesn't even use Flapjacks magic to help Luz kill Philip. He doesnt get to help Luz kill his abuser. The show erases Hunter's disability and kills off his service animal. Hunter did not need this source of magic - he was perfectly fine with glyphs.

3.) The show erases the titans magic, which makes glyph magic unusable. This erases the theme of disability TOH has tackled within the show, because glyphs are an alternative form of magic used by magicless beings. Which is pretty damn important in a society where you need magic to participate in it. Not having an internal source of magic is a disability and Hunter implies in Hunting Palisman that without Belos giving him artifical magic, he couldnt have a future on TBI's. Luz could not receive an education unless she could cast magic. The glyphs made it so that she could go to school. Also Wild magic [glyphs] was something Luz and Hunter were interested in, so it feels weird to take that away from them. But yeah, by erasing glyphs, they've erased the theme of disability this show was not afraid to tackle. How does this not scream executive meddling? Why would a show that tackled disability through Luz and Eda not commit to it to the very end? Why is Hunter's disability "cured" but Eda's isn't? [Because Hunter's disability isnt as "cool" as Eda's is?] Why was it absolutely necessary for Hunter to get an internal source of magic and for Luz to lose her connection to glyph magic?

4.) The School shit in FTF is such a time waster. Most of this episode could be cut out by having Gus, Amity or Willow have the memory tweezers on them before they come to the human realm. Or you could write it where Luz finds a pair of tweezers hidden away in TOH. I still cant believe Boscha ate up the screentime like that. But even more so I cant believe you'd establish Hunter having Flapjacks powers and not let him use them to help Luz kill his abuser.

5.) Amity is able to carve a glyph into the floor despite the doll magic being a form of magic that robs someones autonomy. Amity freeing everyone and herself from the doll magic with only a light glyph presents a huge problem as it makes King, Eda, and Lilith look like complete idiots for not trying this out sooner. They all know glyph magic.

6.) Odalia looks like she is going to do something conniving in FTF after seeing Eda is free from her cage, but nothing comes from this.

7.) The dream sequences at the beginning of WAD were completely pointless and jarring to sit through.

hc that hunter and willow end up sharing a lot of clothing and because hunter has issues with the texture of certain fabrics, he sews that little W patch to remind himself that this or that belongs to willow. theres ceirtaintly an easier way to remember other than sewing an entire patch, but he enjoys designing patches that match the clothing. anyways look at what uve done to me im thinking up domestic huntlow hcs

I could imagine that during the time spent in Camila's house, mixing up clothes was a frequent occurance. Usually between Luz, Amity and Gus. They're all roughly the same size so they'd pull out a shirt, take one look at it and be like "yeah this is probably mine." Considering they're GFs, Luz and Amity wouldn't mind. But Gus would definitely complain if he saw either of them in one of his dino shirts tho lmao.

Willow and Hunter are also susceptible to this but less so. Hunter accidentally wore one of Willow's T-shirts once and when she was like "Borrowing my shirt, huh? ;)", he was absolutely mortified.

"O-oh! Is this yours? I didn't-- I-I'm so sorry. I mean, looking at it now... obviously it's yours. It's got mushrooms on it. Like, duh, am I right? I'll-I'll take it off immediately lemme just--"

"Now I know you're not about to take the shirt off right now in front of her, right?" Gus quickly adds before he embarrasses himself any further.

Hunter freezes, hands bunched in the hem, seconds before yanking the shirt over his head.

"ObViOusly not!" His voice cracks, face scalding. "That'd be weird. So weird! No I-...I'll wash it for you! I know you don't want my weird smell on it..."

Willow tilts head to the side, cocking an eyebrow "I don't?" She asks innocently.

All Hunter can manage is a confused but horribly flustered squeak. It's amazing the heat didn't melt the skin of his face off.

Gus has to give Willow a stern talking to later that day. ("You WILL kill him if you don't tone it down. Stop the violence, Park!!!")

Anyway, after that happens, Hunter does not throw on just anything. He carefully scrutinises every article of clothing he dons and makes absolute certain that it belongs to him. So yeah I could imagine him sewing in little name tags just to keep Willow's clothes out of his pile.

However, this is the point where Willow starts "accidentally" wearing his clothes in return. She bounces into the kitchen for breakfast in one of his rocko button downs and it makes his galdorstone fucking flatline. Sees his life flash before his eyes as he chokes on his cereal. He cannt TAKE this shit anymore man.

You know his sweater? The soft yellow one? Willow once asked to borrow it. She, Lumity and Vee were heading out for a girls day and she had this cute skirt that she wanted to wear and that sweater would match it perfectly and... 🥺

Anyway when Hunter gets it back, there's a strong scent of perfume on it.

"You'll probably wanna wash that." Willow winks, fully aware that he hasn't a notion of washing it. She leaves Hunter a pile of mush, clutching the sweater to his chest for dear life.

He wears it the next day. There's still traces of Willow's scent on it. He tries to be casual about it but fails miserably. She grins like an idiot all day long.

But yes YES absolutely. In a few years time they are constant clothes sharers. Deliberate this time. Very funny to think about Willow intentionally avoiding textures that Hunter doesn't like when clothes shopping, even when they're for her. Cuz like...they'll end up on him at some point probably. If she owns fabrics that bother Hunter, it's clothes that aren't really his style anyway. But shirts, pants, jackets, hoodies. These are all fair game.

Hunter STILL distinguishes every article of clothing with the personalised little patches but you want to know the biggest reason I think he does this?

He wants people to know. He likes flaunting who he's dating honestly.

Luz: *pointing at the leaf patch on the sleeve of Hunter's jacket* Lemme guess. This is your girlfriend's?

Hunter: *is not a teenager anymore and tries to resist the urge to giggle. Fails anyway* yeah 🥰

Okay, first of all, a good friend of mine recommended (and by that I mean bugged me until I caved) to watch the Owl House, and I half wished that they hadn’t. I now have a constant feeling of frustration and hatred toward Disney for canceling the show. Anyway…

Well, I’m here so might as well make the best of it. Random voice-acting bits that I ADORED: At the very beginning when King said, “goodbye” after the door exploded, and right after that when the Collector said, “I’m free, I’m free! I haven’t felt this good in forever and ever! It’s like the whole world is singing!” It’s just *chef’s kiss*

Also when Camila screamed after sitting down on the ground-eyeballs. It sounded so authentic and throat-ripping! (Should I be happy about that?)

Obviously there’s a lot more than that but I don’t feel like typing it out. Okay, but one more thing: I first watched it when I had by earbuds in, and I almost threw up when I heard Belos slooching and slawching around. It was disgusting and amazing.

I didn’t know that Huntlow was kind of a love-or-hate kind of thing in the fandom. I personally…llliiiiikkkeeeeee it. I get that Willow was one of the first people to show Hunter kindness and I love both of their characters but I just can’t get into it. Of course all characters and relationships are going to be rushed but at least Lumity had some semblance of development. Ugh, not their fault.

Eda and Lilith’s new hairstyles = yes. Raine’s new mullet = yes even though Belos is now currently eating away at their flesh.

I would feel bad that Odalia is a servant to the Collector but…it’s Odalia. Come now, let’s be real here.

Okay, I’ve seen numerous fanarts of how Flapjack’s powers could manifest in Hunter, and I love his teleportation ability but…red wings. RED WINGS PEOPLE!! *cough* anyway

Let’s address the elephant in the room. No, not Liz’s palisman. No, not Willow’s emotional scenes. No, not the Collector being a lonely, abandoned little guy. *deep intake of breath* MATT THOLOMULE PEOPLE WHAT THE SHI-

I will never spell it “Mat Tholomule.” Never. Steve is one of my favorite characters (he’s like my…sixth favorite), and I really want some scenes with him and Matty since they’re half-brothers and we were robbed of their backstory but it’s probably not important enough to include in the last episode. Steve Tholomule…

I adore Luz’s palisman, though I like the egg’s color scheme more. Hey, I’m not complaining though. I just have one problem…Stringbean brings up bad memories of expired baked beans that had been left in the sun too long. No hate, duh. Her lil’ kitten ears are so cute!

Boscha is a simp for Amity…

My predictions for the last episode (*distant sobbing*): Raine is going to die, but the Collector is going to revive them. The dude has Belos eating away at them, and they doesn’t have a Flapjack. (…is that grammar?)

Owlbert, Lilith’s palisman, and the Bat Queen are going to fight for the Boiling Isles!! They’re nowhere to be seen, and they’re way too important to leave out.

The Collector and King are going to team up against Belos in a fight of Gods!! And the only way for the good guys to prevail will be the Owl Crew!

Caleb will talk and his voice will be Hunter’s. Maybe if/when Belos dies all the Golden Guards of the past and Caleb will come to thank Hunter or Caleb talks to Belos as he’s dying.

Belos will go berserk against Eda since with her new hairstyle, she’s the spitting image of Evelyn.

There will be a lot of crying involved, both for the characters and the audience.

My hopes and dreams:

Steve and Matt scene! (Highly unlikely)

Stringbean being OP as crap and using her snakeshifting ability in battle by stinging as a scorpion, blowing flames as a dragon, and flying as a bat. (Pretty likely)

A “some years in the future” scene/ a flash forward scene. (Dear GOD I HOPE SO)

huntlow shippers say its pretty much confirmed they'll be canon and i do see some of their arguments. blushing is used as shorthand for romantic feelings so it makes sense for some to interpret hunter blushing as a crush. and to make it more balanced shippers then look at scenes of them interacting and stretch the logic a bit to argue that willow also has a crush (though i absolutely don't see it lol).

but i feel like the crew is more teasing the fans with the ship than actually foreshadowing that it would happen in the story, you know? they go out of their way to avoid any actual conversation between hunter and willow after their first episode together. and even though hunter is given the "romantic" shorthands willow is given none.

in that one stream when someone asked if the ship would happen dana found it rly funny and reacted like they were going to tease the fandom with something unexpected. and they can't kill off one half of the ship bc that would go against the vibe of the story and hunter and willows character arcs. but if they're just going to make them canon then it's weird that dana would have such a big reaction to it. i would have just expected a cryptic smile and a "stay tuned ;DDD"

same with that one promo art of thanks to them with huntlow holding hands like if they do get together why would you show that on a piece of promo art? especially for an episode where they don't get together? it would have been more impactful if they just let it happen in the show without alluding to it in the promos. they definitely didn't do that for lumity or raeda. same thing with some other promo arts where huntlow are standing next to each other or that one where hunter is looking at willow.

i can buy that hunter has a crush but i can't see willow having one, or them getting together in a well-written way. im really hoping they go with the "willow rejects hunters love confession" route bc they haven't had a conversation in almost 10 episodes and i trust the crew to write romantic relationships better than that. i hope the crew's push for the huntlow ship is just a big troll on their part (although it would be kind of mean to huntlow shippers if it was just a troll)

The whole belief that it’s “confirmed canon” is honestly my biggest gripe with huntlows because the ones that insist it is canon are the ones that come after people that don’t ship it, as if there haven’t always been people in fandom spaces that actively ignore actual canon ships anyway. It’s definitely frustrating because blushing is often used as romantic shorthand, but toh has down an amazing job from day one of showing characters blushing at people they look up to or admire with absolutely no romantic context (I.e. Willow at Luz, or Luz at Eda which is CLEARLY one of awe and admiration) so I think if they pull the rug out from under shippers and have it said or implied “it was because he looked up to her the whole time, not romantic!” It would be very on brand and also hilarious. And if it IS a crush, I’m going to decide to ignore canon and say Hunter has very little social skills and has no idea what just admiring and wanting to be a person’s friend feels like so he thinks it’s romantic attraction lol. In the other hand with Willow, she clearly has no romantic interest in him whatsoever. As I said before, we’ve seen Willow blush and it’s only ever been in a platonic sense (aroace Willow 👀) so if that’s shippers’ marker for romantic attraction she definitely is NOT interested in him in that way.

I definitely agree with you that it feels like a tease, and it would definitely be Dana’s MO for a show she’s so heavily laden with queer rep for the straight “couple” to get the usual queerbait treatment. It would feel like a fuck you to Disney and every other show that has made queer ppl the butt of their jokes for so many years and I think that’s beautiful. Also im so glad you think the same thing about that stream. I’ve said the EXACT same thing in the past- that reaction was definitely not a blushy uwu my pairing reaction that was the reaction of a person that has some shit up her sleeve in regards to the question lmfao. Dana hasn’t reacted that way visibly about lumity OR raeda which she later in the same stream said was her favorite ship, so reacting that way to a ship that’s not even canon and that fans are constantly theorizing about seems SO un-Dana terrace to me. Like I cannot stress enough how much that would not make sense lmao.

I haven’t seen the promo art of them holding hands??? Kind of glad I haven’t seen it? But yeah, the way they’re always looking at each other in promo art. It definitely seems like a tease, though because none of those episodes have really had them interacting at all. I genuinely cannot see how they could produce a well written romance like you said even before this last episode, but ESPECIALLY now after this last episode. It would feel cheap and like they’re using a romance as the thing to heal hunter after all the trauma he’s gone through. With flapjack, you know,, and being the most important thing in Hunter’s life, it feels they’ve narratively gone too far for huntlow to end up being anything more than a “sure your best friend might have died to save your life, but you’re all better now because the girl said yes :)” type deal. It makes me feel kinda sick thinking about it because it would feel disrespectful to everything he’s just gone through. Hunter needs time to grieve and re-find himself, the thought of him having any romantic feelings for anyone/a crush on anyone after what happened wouldn’t make sense. Like “oh yeah that was traumatizing, but potential romance!!”. Like it would be shelving all the trauma he now needs to process and make flapjack’s sacrifice feel so cheap because I cannot see hunter having any interest in anything like that anymore directly after that’s happened. When people are traumatized like that they tend to close off, emotions shut down, etc (not to say that’s exactly what will happen, but it narratively makes sense after all that with how we already know hunter acts) and wouldn’t actively be thinking about a romance but would more likely be distancing himself. I swear to god if we get a scene of the hexsquad and camila of hunter explaining being a grimwalker/what all happened and it ends with him blushing at Willow because she for once ever does something romantic back or just hugs him or something I will snap because like I said it would make it feel like flapjacks sacrifice is being pushed to the wayside just to further a random ship that barely has any canon evidence. It already would have felt cheap to make it canon before, but it REALLY would now. That being said, I agree with you that I trust that if they were going to end up romantic the crew would have done much better writing for it rather than it feeling like a constant tease AND I trust Dana to handle the aftermath of all the shown physical abuse Hunter just experienced better than to make huntlow canon to “fix him”. The amazing quality of writing for lumity and raeda really doesn’t lend high hopes for huntlow actually becoming canon & I hope it stays that way for the sake of the writing.

The Owl House Predictions

So. 

As someone obsessed with fandoms and shows that I’m probably too old for, this is my over-analysis of who might die in The Owl House series finale. 

Maybe.  

Well, a type of death where someone dies and then comes back. I don’t think that Dana Terrace would actually kill someone off permanently. It’ll be an Amphibia of Gravity Falls type sacrifice thing. So which characters are most likely to be killed off? Fake killed. I hope no one actually dies because I love them too much.  

Luz: Could have some sort of heroic death moment like Anne from Amphibia but I don’t feel like this actually fits her character arc. I feel like, at least according to the trailer, that she’s going to see someone she loves ‘die’ instead and is then going to become filled with rage and sadness and will absolutely beat the shit out of Belos or The Collector. Of course, there was that scene where King and Eda were going absolutely fucking feral, so she could have some kind of ‘death’ scene. She’s a maybe. 

King: No. He’s not going to die. He’s a Titan, I think he’s crucial to the plot and has already had his sacrifice moment at the end of Season 2. He also is shown in the trailer to be, as I said, going absolutely feral. I don’t think he’s doing to die or even seem to die. 

Eda: SO…she’s on shaky ground, I feel like. She shouldn’t die, she’s too amazing and phenomenal to die BUT…the mentor figure does tend to die in stories, and she’s shown in the past that she is completely ready to sacrifice herself for the ones she cares about. Agony of a Witch and Eda’s Requim are two prime examples. So she might sacrifice herself for her kids, but she’s also shown in the trailer to be going feral with King. So she’s a maybe, like Luz. 

Amity: I don’t see it. She’s too strong and powerful and I don’t think they’re going to kill off a kid/teen character who’s not the main character. And Luz is obviously going to survive this mess, it’d be a terrible ending if she didn’t, and they’re not going to split up Lumity. 

Hunter: So…he’s fan favorite. Obviously. And has had a fucked up life, ngl. So him dying would definitely be heart breaking, but again, he’s a teen character and Huntlow has only just started being explored, so I don’t think he’s going to die. 

Willow: I actually feel like if they were to kill off any of the kids, it would be her. She’s willing to go to great lengths to protect her friends, and I can see the death being emotionally devastating. But again, Huntlow. So she would definitely be a faked death if something was going to happen to her. 

Gus: Sadly, no one cares enough about him to make his death really heartbreaking. Which sucks, because he’s a seriously underrated character. I could see him dying, but also no one would believe he’s dead because he’s literally the illusions guy. So no, he’s probably not going to die. 

Lilith: I am so scared for her. She’s done so much to prove that she’s a good guy, and there would be nothing more ‘good guy’ for her then to sacrifice herself for Luz, Eda, or King. She could be the one that Eda and King are going absolutely feral to try and protect/avenge. So yes, I can see her being a likely person to die. 

Hooty: Also, scared for him. Mainly for the reason that in season 2, episode 3, he ‘sacrificed’ himself to protect Lilith from the stuffed animal that was thrown at her. And she was all like, “Hooty, it’s make believe.” CAN YOU IMAGINE THE FAN EDITS IF HE ACTUALLY DIED and Lilith held him just like she held him in that episode? So yes. I’m very scared for Hooty and feel like he’s a prime subject to be ‘killed’ because, being a demon, he could maybe be revived easier than anyone else. 

Raine: So, ultimate ending to The Owl House would be a Raeda kiss, crossing fingers, but I can see Raine dying. I mean, you have the scene in the trailer where they’re literally being, like, consumed by Belos. So, unfortunately, I have a feeling that they are a prime character to die. AND IT SUCKS BECAUSE I LOVE THEM. 

Belos: He’d better fucking die. 

The Collector: Okay, he could die but also I really don’t want him to die because he’s too adorable and needs protecting. I want King to help him with his problems. 

Alador: We have no idea where he is so I have no idea whether he is going to die or not. Nothing I can go off of. 

Darius: Eh. I don’t feel like it’s going to happen. I love him, but I’ll be really surprised if he actually dies.  

The Other Heads of the Covens: I dunno. Except for Darius, Eberwolfe, and Raine, I don’t think they’re noteworthy enough to die. Maybe Terra Snapdragon, cause she’s a bitch and we hate her. 

Steve: I HOPE NOT. He’s adorable and need to survive. But also, probably too minor to be killed off. 

Camila: HOO boy. So, yes. She could die. She’s been growing, and becomming a better character, so yes. She could die. And then it would be easy for Luz to stay in the Demon Realm instead of going back home. But, it would also be really painful for Luz to have another parent die, so it’s 50/50, I think. 

Vee: Nope. In the human realm, out of the big fight. Not dying. Hopefully. 

Palismen: I don’t think anyone’s palisman is going to die, although Flapjack’s death was extremely surprising and heartbreaking. Stringbean’s not, but I do feel like because Owlbert is gone there’s a chance he could die. Probably not, though. 

In conclusion, Belos obviously needs to die, Hooty, Lilith, and Raine are prime characters to die, Camila, Eda, Luz, and The Collector definitely could die, Willow, Hunter, King are in the running but most likely they won’t, and everyone else I would be very surprised if they die.

These are just my ideas, and I really want all of my predictions to be wrong and everyone to survive and be happy and us to get a Raeda kiss at the end.

Well my thoughts about "Lunter" types (what variants of liking Luz and Hunter relationship we have and my opinion about them).

1. Siblings.

I personally obviously don't see them so and don't like their relationship at in this point, however I think this type of relationship could work out, but not in canon. Their relationship just never were written this way them to could see each other as siblings and that's why I don't see it and never will. I don't mind it to be someone's fanon, but if Dana wanted to make it canon, it was written realy awful. I could write a whole post about why it can't and shouldn't work out now and how shoulded they do it it to work out. Anyways, in s3 I understand why they being seem so, but to me s3 basicly just wasted Hunter's chatacter fully.

2. Friends / bestie.

I basicly also don't like the idea of them to just be "friends", bc since Hollow mind their bond is TOO strong for it. But if it would be like besties who help each other and love each other without any kind of romantic attraction and without dating, I don't realy mind.

3. Platonic ship.

Even tho in canon their relationship are very like platonic and if they would realy became a couple, they still would be only platonic, I don't like this. The problem is that too many people ignore in the frase "platonic ship" the word "ship". Every time someone say they like platonic ship, people just accept it how "I like their relationship"/"I see them as siblings" and it is a problem to me, bc it basicly exclude platonic Lunter shippers from Lunter fans even if they don't wanna be exclude. Also a lot of people think "platonic" means "without romantic attraction", while in fact it means only "without sexual attraction" so romantic attraction still can be there and at this point I realy like the idea of this as well, but again, not like "blusings, dates, kisses and other stuff".

4. Typical romantic.

What I mean by "typical romantic"? To me it's this annoying stuff like blushings, complements, embarassment, holding hands, a wish to show your partner only the best part of you and basicly just almost everything Lumity and Huntlow have. No, thank you, but I sick of it. Mb it's just bc Im on aromantic spectrum so I don't like and understand these, so if my ship don't have it in canon, it also wont have it in fanon. The only my ships who also have it in canon, so in fanon too are Scorptra and Adrigami. And Lunter is perfect even without it.

5. Frenemies to lovers.

Well.. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS! This type of relationship is by far the best for them to me, cause basicly it includes everything other types have and do it in moderation. And that's what I like the most. They will flirt each other (in their own way - teasing), they will watch and discuss films together, they with always sapport, help, protect, care about each other, they will act like they can't stand each other, knowing the can't wait to see each other, they will be absolutely comfortable and opened with each other, solve riddles and get in troubles with each other! This is amazing and I love this type of their relationship so much!

6. Queer platonic relationship.

Basicly, that's like the previous one, but without frenemies part. Since QPR is one of my favourite tropes, I realy like this too and even in my au this one is most likely to happen. However, this type of relationship is too ambiguous to say much about it. Anyways, if it excludes Amity and Willow, at least as someones Luz and Hunter love more than each other, Im still for it. Sometimes platonic friends are much more important than romantic lovers. And Lunter is the best example of it.

7. Friends who secretaly love each other. Well, basicly, it is just a romantic ship, but I still love this trope and the idea of it. But I think it doesn't deservses a whole essay, sorry.

Owl House "Thanks to them" thoughts.

So I have randomly decided to come back with these and I plan to do it with the other parts as well. So...

AAAAAHHHH!

I love the new intro we got here, not only with new scenes but an amazing extended theme.

We also got tons of new Lumity scenes, with them choosing to go with couple costumes and both of them being there for each other. We've seen a lot of Luz supporting Amity when she was feeling stressed or upset but we got a whole lot of the reverse in this episode. Amity knew how Luz was putting way too much on herself and decided to try to surprise her.

And I adore Luz coming out to her mom as BI in the episode:

Yeah, it was silly and adorable but it was the first time I think I have ever seen the word "bi" (in this context at least) in a cartoon. As someone who is bi and often feels like I'm forgotten whenever shipping is involved, it's so great to see a clear announcement in the show.

Ok wow this was a lot and ended up taking a hot minute, but anyways

001 | The Owl House:

Favorite character: Luz Noceda, I am a basic "Main Character Enjoyer" bitch like that

Least Favorite character: This is hard because all of the characters are so good in their intended role, but if I had to pick the one that I dislike the most as like, a person? Tibbles. The only thing worse than a Genocidal Maniac Tyrant is a capitalist.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Help me I have too many ships I like. I am a serial multi/poly crackshipper. Saying Lumity and Raeda feel like cheating, so I will be giving my top five crackships/rarepairs, in no particular order. Camilraedarius, Skara/Luz, Emira/Viney, Skara/Viney and Skara/Boscha.

Character I find most attractive: Probably Emira, for reasons that will become evident soon.

Character I would marry: Oh this is a tough one... most characters are either significantly older or significantly younger than me so picking one feels weird... Hooty will treat me right, I just know it.

Character I would be best friends with: Luz. We could bond over being neurodivergent and enjoying fanfiction and shipping.

a random thought: Emira's hair gives me gender envy

An unpopular opinion: The entire show should be replaced with Lumity screentime Honestly my opinions are pretty basic, and I'm also really bad at knowing what opinions are unpopular, but the one opinion I could see getting me crucified is that I don't have that strong an opinion on Huntlow? I see its value as a ship, but I don't have strong personal feelings on it.

My Canon OTP: LUMITY. They're the whole reason I even got into this show.

My Non-canon OTP OT5: Ok, listen, hear me out here because I'm about to sound completely insane, but Luz/Amity/Willow/Skara/Boscha. I realize this doesn't make me seem less insane but I had to get it off my chest. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Most Badass Character: Amity, her fight scenes are amazing.

Most Epic Villain: Kikimora Belos told her to go find a hole to die in, and she did. Truly the most henchperson of all time.

Pairing I am not a fan of: Picking from actually semi-prevalent ships, probably Boschlow? I'll still devour fanfiction about it given the option, but especially in canon I don't think it works.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): The Writers? None. Disney by shortening the show? The Covenheads.

Favourite Friendship: Luz and Hunter, though they're more like siblings so does it still count?

Character I most identify with: S3 Luz

Character I wish I could be: EMIRA GIVE ME YOUR HAIR I WANT IT

When I started shipping them: I have very few memories of my early time in the fandom, which was quite late, so basically for as long as I can remember

My thoughts: That one screenshot of Raine bridal carrying Eda with That Expression™... yeah...

What makes me happy about them: How they were so in sync even as kids and stuck together for so long until...

What makes me sad about them: ...they were torn apart by the curse.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: I know a lot of them were written before we even knew Raine existed, but Camileda fanfiction where Raine isn't acknowledged still bothers me.

Things I look for in fanfic: Established Raeda is always fun in AUs, bonus points if it's Camilraeda and they are all raising Luz, Vee and King.

My wishlist: NOW KISS

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Frequently bought together DO NOT SEPARATE! but I guess if I have to then Camila for Eda and I guess I could see Darius for Raine?

My happily ever after for them: They get married and help take care of Luz and Hunter with Camila.

How I feel about this character: He wife guyed too close to the sun and it's still haunting the narrative. Iconic.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: His wife Evelyn, duh.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: His connection to Hunter, if you can call that a relationship.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I'm not super interested in like a flashback to his time in Connecticut to be honest, I'd enjoy seeing more of his time and relationship with Evelyn, but his time in Gravesfield isn't that compelling to me

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: One thing I think could have some really neat potential is if he somehow could have a heart-to-heart with Hunter. I think that could be fascinating.

Favorite friendship for this character: I mean, there aren't exactly a lot of options but I think he and Luz could be great friends.

My crossover ship: Caleb X Not Dying

Tbf Huntlow would hit amazingly hard if Hunter was a girl. Amity just doesn't have the intense weird sadgirl energy that could have been brought into Lumity the same way Hunter brings it in Huntlow. Save for maybe Catra we are starved for this sort of edgy-sad-angsty-blorbo archetype in female characters in 2D (and Catra has other issues).

NO GENUINELY!!!! I was thinking the same thing 😩😩 I was like man how cool would it be if they made Hunter a butch lesbian and just kept everything else the same. That would be sooooo good!!! I just have such a soft spot for characters who have been THROUGH it and end up realising they were wrong and try to fix it and bonus points if they are actually sweet and soft. And having more women characters like that would be so cool.

Ah well ahaha. The story we get with Willow and Hunter as is is still amazing and super engaging ☺️

favorite character:

Edalyn Clawthorne, aka Eda the Owl Lady. It always goes back to her. She's this amazing character with such a good sense of humor and interesting personality. We need more characters like her, who show us that older women can be smart and strong and powerful (and, yes, super hot). I also know her story is very important to people with chroninc ilness or mental illness or dissabilities. I don't personally have something like that but I do really relate to her in other ways.

least favorite character:

Oh, Boscha. Definetly Boscha. She's just annoying and boring. Like, yeah I get it, we needed a bully character that wasn't like Amity and wouldn't want to become friends with the other kids because a bully character can facilitate stories like WILW and OUAS and MLC more easily. And like, her design looks good. But we could never see her again and I would not miss her at all.

Every time she talks I just want her to shut up. Why are people giving Hunter grief? she's the one with the annoying voice. I think some people do want Boscha to become a nicer person and grow and mature and, I mean, she's 15. She's still very young, she could eventually grow up into a better person with time. But I'm not as interested in seeing her grow as I was with Amity or Sasha Waybright.

brOTP:

Oh, I'm having a hard time choosing. I really like Luz and King because they remind me of myself and my little brother.

I also love Hunter and Luz because I like that sort of friendship where two people constantly make fun of each other and annoy and insult each other but it's never with bad intentions. Like, they give each other a hard time but, in the end, you know it's their way of showing they care for each other. And I think it's super sweet how Luz went and sacrificed herself for Hunter in CATH. I understand why people ship it, even though I choose to see them as platonic friends.

OTP:

Raine and Eda, aka Raeda. They have such a rich and powerful story together. Their emotional scenes always get to me so bad. They always make me feel the angst and the joy and the EVERYTHING. I get so excited whenever I see them interact. I really hope they get their well-deserved happy ending, because Idk what I'd do with myself if they didn't. Also, Eda's Requiem/Raine's Rhapsody is such a beautiful song.

OT3:

I don't really have any poly ships for this fandom, unlike with Amphibia or Shera or STVFOE, all of my ships are just 2 people. I don't really see any characters in a polyamorous relationship. Tho I support the fans who do.

I guess the closest thing I have to an OT3 is the Emerald Trio (Hunter, Willow and Gus). But not with Gus as part of the relationship, I like Huntlow as a ship by itself. More like, their trio of friendship. More like, as much as Hunter and Willow are already a couple by themselves, their friendship with Gus is a big piece of their relationship. Like, their mutual friendship with Gus is something that makes them more dynamic as a couple. And they totally invite him to come with on most of their dates. He's the third wheel but he's happy about it.

NOTP:

Boscha and Willow, aka Boschlow. Mostly because I don't like Boscha as a character, like I said before.

Like, I understand why people ship it; it kinda has an Enemies to Lovers vibe. Like, it might remind some people of Early Season 1 Lumity. The difference between Boschlow and Lumity however, Luz and Amity were more rivals than bully/bullying victim. Like, as much as Amity gave Luz a hard time, Luz also went out of her way to annoy Amity; it was a mutual rivalry. Whereas, Boscha always attacked Willow unprovoked. Willow just wanted to be left alone and Boscha kept bothering her. Unlike with Lumity, where they both annoyed each other.

Also, Boscha is shown to be a constant bully throughout Willow's whole childhood. Like, it seems she kept bothering her for years and years. That's a long time of built-up resentment and maybe even trauma, it's hard to take that and try to build a relationship from it. (Similar to how it took a long time for Willow to forgive Amity and be her friend again). Unlike Lumity, where their rivalry was short-lived so they didn't really have that much built-up resentment to deconstruct before getting to the Friends to Lovers portion.

Before Huntlow was presented to me as the beautiful ship that it is, I used to ship Willow with Skara (Skarlow). Because Skara was never really a bully to Willow, she was more Boscha's lackey and it looked like she might have a good heart and a good sense of humor under her blind loyalty to Boscha. Low and behold, it turns out I was right! She does have a good heart! Skara seems like a very sweet girl. And I support people who continue to like Skarlow.

favorite storyline:

Aww, maaaaan. So hard to choose. They’re all sooooo gooooood.

Maybe Eda’s character arc going from “I keep everyone at a distance, I don’t make connections, I don’t want a family” to “I AM EVERYONE’S MAMA! I HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND I WILL ADOPT 3 MORE IF LEFT TO MY OWN DEVICES!”. Like, it’s more complex than that. Something something emotional vulnerability something something allowing yourself to open your heart to people.

And Hunter’s character arc of him learning Philip is a bad dude and slowly easing his way to rebellion. Something about him going from “Human (derogatory)” to “Luz (affectionate)” really hits me where I live, I’m not really sure why. I don’t know if it’s a redemption arc because I never saw him as a villain but it’s definetly an improvement arc. And I feel like it could’ve been done better with more time but.... you know, Godspeed.

least favorite storyline:

I don’t know....... the Bat Queen maybe? I don’t dislike her! she’s fine! I just.... you know. Now that we’re going godspeed and we don’t have time for this... that’s it, we don’t have time for this. I don’t care who the Bat Queen’s owner was, we don’t have time for that! I don’t wanna spend what precious time we have with the Bat Queen that we could be spending with the kids.

Also, we haven’t really seen it yet so it doesn’t count but.... the fact that Belos is not 100% dead. I despise that with every fiber of my being. I want him to be dead so badly. I don’t wanna spend a single second on Philip anymore. I just want him dead. And I have faith that the crew knows what they’re doing but just.... I would’ve been so happy if The Collector flicking him had been it. Like I was so relieved when The Collector tagged him, I was like “FINALLY”. And now it looks like he’s coming back and I’m like “WHY WON’T YOU STAY DEAD”. 

Also, the fact that Belos survived The Collector trying to kill him makes me feel like it makes The Collector less scary. If he tried to kill someone and they survived, then he’s not as scary anymore. Ya feel?

what I wish had happened but didn’t:

I guess this could still happen but it probably won’t. I really wanted to hear Raine sing. Like, I want to hear all the characters sing because they all have really beautiful speaking voices so logic dictates that, if they have a beautiful speaking voice, they’ll have a good singing voice too. But especially Raine because... you know, Bard. 

And we probably won’t get that. Not just because ain’t got no time. But also because I know that Dana Terrace doesn’t like musicals so she would never write a musical episode or even just throw me a bone of a single scene to let me hear my angels sing. Just let the theater kid breathe please. 

what happened that I wish hadn’t:

I don't know if I can think of anything that I wish hadn't happened. I don't really have any thoughts on that front.
