Oh-- oh I get it now. The scene in Style's bedroom is Style's gift to Fadel: an encounter designed to give Fadel as much of a chance to lay himself as bare as he could (further explanation here) with the layers of deception still between them.

But the garage scene -- this is Fadel's gift to Style.

Fadel presses against Style's lips delicate and soft, peels his shirt off all careful and slow, and nuzzles against the juncture of his neck as he slides into the narrow space between Style's legs. Everything about how Fadel is moving feels tender, because it IS: Style has granted Fadel's request, has let him into Style's space not only physically (in that this is where most of Style's life is) but also emotionally (because Style just revealed some very intimate and vulnerable pieces of his past to Fadel).

But even as this tone remains, the dialogue shifts into cheesy porn territory. Yet the delivery is still very intimate; Fadel is whispering his lines, slow and purposeful, gaze fixed intently on Style to see his reaction. Because this is something Fadel is creating for Style.

It's sex that is fun and playful and a little bit silly, and it's exactly the kind of romp that feels designed for Style. It's laughter and tenderness and comfort and sensuality and maybe kinda risky but oh so very intimate. It's a melding of pleasure and absurd frivolity that feels perfect for who Style is as a character. And it's orchestrated with such flawless precision; like the perfect, most wonderful gift.

Is it any wonder, then, that Style reacts this way?

Once again I am thinking about how Javert should absolutely be included in the musical's finale. I know some smaller productions have done this, but the bigger ones need to step their game up. I mean, if goddamn Britain's Got Talent can get Javert singing in the finale, so should every other show, too!

Not having him there just goes so against the theme of redemption. Oh, Javert doesn't go heaven? I guess people can't change, after all. Oh, suicide is a sin that people go to hell for? Don't even get me started on that catholic garbage. By that logic, Valjean probably shouldn't be there, either...

It doesn't even have to be a big thing, just let my cringe blorbo sing the song in the background like the rest of the characters. He and Valjean could share a nod, a handshake, a hug, you name it!

I'm watching The Grave Danger Job, and I'm thinking not for the first time about how the team spends time outside of cons doing stuff for the team. They're masters of their craft, so it makes sense that we know that Hardison spends a lot of time doing research and cleanup, for example.

So I'm thinking that this means that Sophie actually spends a lot of time shopping/stealing stuff for the team to wear. For the team to be fully effective, they need everyone ready to be able to grift on a dime, right? Costuming is an important part of every theater production.

She's probably got measuring tapes stashed in Nate's place, Lucille, and in her purse. She's taking members of the team shopping every other weekend. Hardison's super young and still growing, so she probably has to take him for multiple suit fittings. He's the one who most visibly likes learning about her world, so he's happy to learn and she's happy to have an audience.

The team walks into their offices between jobs and maybe she's not there yet, but she's got new clothes laid out for everyone. She's regularly leaving clothes in Lucille just in case. She makes sure to keep up-to-date on the things that Parker has stolen in case it's a good idea for Parker to wear them for a con.

Eliot...tends to have good stuff hanging in his closet already, but I like the idea of him letting her get him situational clothing that lends itself well to a fight, and him teaching her how to fight people in return. For them it's more of an exchange, and I can see them being whiny and grumpy to the other because it's kind of their love language.

Nate's repertoire of grift characters tends to be stuff he already has, but he gets out of the shower and rolls his eyes when the steam on the mirror clears because Sophie's left new things for him hanging in his bathroom again. "It's not like I saw anything, Nate!" she says in the early days, but also he ends up needing that exact outfit the following week and it's not like she doesn't know what she's talking about.

But also Sophie has multiple full closets because she's storing four other people's con clothes in them. The truly impressive number of shoes she bought with the money from the Leverage team's first score? Used on shoes not just for her. This is a woman who commits to the bit. There's no way her team's going in for a con without looking the part.

AU where Maddie gets like. Genuinely upset because she doesn’t want to have a different last name from Chim and Jee, but the idea of not sharing a name with Buck (who for all intents and purposes is her first baby) and she ends up breaking down sobbing and apologizing to Chimney. Chim, after consoling his fiancée, just goes “oh, that’s okay! Jee and I will change our last name to Buckley :)”

Maddie just blinks. “You’d do that for me?”

Chim just shrugs. “You and Buck are my family, and I love you both. Other than Albert, I really don’t have any family who are Hans, so yeah! We can be Buckleys, I think that would be nice :)”

Buck cries when they tell him.

(Later, when Buck and Eddie are engaged and the name topic comes up, Eddie offers to change his name to Buckley, too. They almost end up doing it, but Bobby is the one to say no. “I can’t have three Buckleys on the same shift, it’ll get confusing for the other houses during big calls.

Eddie and Buck end up hyphenating instead.)
