Switched lives AU explained

This AU is still in development and I am NOT an artist (sadly) but here is what the AU has so far:

This AU is about sonic and shadow switching lives; shadow being the hero in the story and sonic being created in the ARK.

Shadows design: shadow and sonic don't really change much aside from shoe and glove design. For shadow, I was thinking of the idea that he would still have the air shoes but they are made by tails! The jet boots are still red and black but are a little bit more detailed with the idea that tails made them. As for his gloves, shadows would kind of just hear those high tech grey gloves that are also made by tails that can shock enemies on contact whenever shadow has to.

Sonics design: sonic would wear running shoes since he can still run pretty fast! He would also wear fingerless white gloves because in the ARK him and maria used to play wrestle together and maria gifted him some fighting gloves for them!

Story differences: Despite being the hero that saves people and beats up bad guys, shadow is still a bit of a mean guy because he sees himself as the ultimate hero that likes validation. Of course, he does want to help people in these situations since in his cold heart, he does care about the people he saves. Sonic in the ARK is a lot more tough... Sonic and maria were best of friends that would constantly play together and break the ARKS rules sometimes, until the day Maria got shot and sent him away. After 50 years, sonic became more of a vigilante than a bad guy (I had no idea how to make him a bad guy in the story as much as I LOVE unhinged sonic.) He remembers maria's words and tries to not do awful crimes but still does some bad stuff since he did break the rules back in the ARK and is just kind of a goofy guy like that. Of course though, he got to learn better after the events of SA2. He WILL get a 'bit' emotional if you mention her though...

Shadows relationships: With tails, he treats him nicer since they've known each other for a long time, He sees him as his little brother that he would protect if gotten hurt. with knuckles...they hate eachother. They would constantly fight and get into each others nerves, they see each other as more co-workers than friends. (At least, that's what they both say) Amy does have a crush on shadow and is VERY obvious about it with him. It constantly annoys him and he gets all angry at her everytime. (He does likes her company sometimes though)

Sonics relationships: sonic and rouge are besties! They gossip a lot together and used to steal some jewels together back when sonic was a vigilante. Sonic finds omega as a pretty cool guy to hang around with and he is pretty funny to him. He LOVES to mess with egg man every chance he gets to get on his nerves, he is technically his family after all.

Sonic and shadows relationship: they of course constantly fight but for sonic, he loves the guy! He likes to tease and mess with him while he tries to stop him cause of how funny he acts when pissed off. Shadow used to find the guy annoying and childish...and while he still does see him that way, he finds him more welcoming in the team now that he is not a vigilante anymore.

Aaaaand that is IT so far. I would love to go over what happens in the other games and the other character dynamics with them, but this would be way too long. Hope you like what I have so far though!

STORY.

In This AU, Shadow and Sonic work under Eggman's command and alongside Infinite the Jackal making them a Deadly Trio! on the outside, they're a mean bloody bunch that are perceived as being unable to feel anything but cruelty, but to each have their own Secrets!

Shadow works under Eggman's command strictly because of his relation to the robotnik family. he sees that it would be a great Insult or offense To Maria's legacy if he refused to work under Eggman even if he has his doubts about his creator's grandson. Shadow utilizes his black arms DNA in battle, making him a very bloody murderer but not the bloodiest.

Sonic has worked under Eggman since he was a very little hedgehog. Sonic gave up a life of freedom due to the eggpire catching him and his little brother off guard and proposed an idea to the at-the-time Child. it was either Sonic work with the eggpire and the fox he adopted lives, or they both perish. Sonic, obviously, chose to work with the eggpire. he was nonverbal at the time and has selective nonverbalism now, but even if he had to leave his adoptive brother behind; he made sure the fox was in good hands. Sonic left Tails' protection up to Knuckles and Amy anonymously but he does still periodically sneak into the home on his offtimes to check on Tails even if the fox doesn't know he's there. he may not be as snarky, uncaring, and cruel as he lets on to be in battle. He's considered the bloodiest murderer on the team purely because of his methods of battle.

Infinite's Story shifts just a little. the Silver of this AU came late and believed Infinite to be the Iblis trigger, so Silver carelessly slaughtered Infinite's family and squad and abandoned the only living Jackal because he did not have the heart to Kill a kid at the time. Infinite had to fight his way for survival until The Doctor took him in, which sparked a Flame in Zero. he refused to be that weak pup ever again, and vigorously trained himself and his use of the Phantom Ruby. he is the most ruthless manipulator and murderer on the team, however not the bloodiest.

Are these three just ruthless Murderers? of course not, there's a Twist! They've broken the number one rule set by Doctor Ivo Robotnik, and that's to love one another. They are currently in a secret romantic relationship with one another, helping eachother cope with the onslaught they bring and the nightmares that Haunt them.

Other character's stories in this AU generally remain the same, However put Tails in the 'hero' spotlight, as he's grown up to be Mobius' Renowned hero with his highly advanced tech and intelligence unparalleled.

Everyone wonders how Shadow managed to land a relationship with you, considering that he's introverted and hates talking to people

But what most people don't take into consideration is that you and Shadow are quite similar to one another

You've both got PTSD, angry at the world for taking someone close away from you both and you're both just really edgy

You two don't really go out for dates, especially dates that take place in a popular crowded area. You two prefer being alone

Ever since Shadow had lost Maria on the Arc, and you had lost your best friend during an attack from Eggman, you both vowed to protect eachother

However, just because you and Shadow don't like socializing with others, doesn't mean you two aren't social to eachother

You both have in depth conversations about the past or what you both want to accomplish in life. You want to find a way to get vengeance for your now dead best friend as Shadow wants to protect the world from danger.

When you two are alone, you both snuggle up together and probably put a movie on

That, or you two just lay there and cuddle eachother seeing as you're both touch starved

Overall, Shadow loves you very much. He cannot afford to lose you just like he lost Maria

The tragic sibs tournament is like. So funny at this point

Like what's worse 2 twins who were inseparable and got separated because of a white boy with religious issues or a 15yo seeing his sister get shot

im unfamiliar with a lot of the characters that got in so im not gonna make big judgements on All of them (i dont even know which ones youre talking about) but i feel like one sibling dying to protect the other is inherently more tragic than siblings who are both still alive and were like. mad at eachother for a while or were separated for a while but everythings fine now. which is the case with a lot of the siblings that were put on there. stories like that can be sad yes and im not saying those characters never had any problems at all, but thats not comparable to one of them dying?? do the people who are voting against shadow and maria just not know anything about sonic?
