Question.
Considering that Cait is pretty much gone from SM, do you think it works in her favor acting wise or not?
She's probably busy now with The Amateur resuming filming but in general how do you see it?
Thanks for the questions, Anon. 😃
Do I think Caitríona’s limited social media use works in her favour, acting wise?
Gifer
I think her limited use of social media is incidental, acting wise.
While she’s still a relatively small fish in a big pond, the quality of her performances, accolades from directors, colleagues, and critics, and her 19 award wins and 51 nominations (IMBd) make enough noise. Her name is listed among the nominees and winners of four of the five top acting awards.* She’s been nominated for a BAFTA, won one Scottish BAFTA and been nominated for another. She’s been nominated for five Golden Globe, three Critics Choice, and two Screen Actors Guild awards. (And has won an IFTA award and been nominated for eight others.)
Despite her not being nominated for an Academy Award, she, with Tony, represented Le Mans ’66 (Ford v. Ferrari) and Belfast at the 2020 and 2022 ceremonies, where the films won three Oscars in total.

FarFarAwaySite

Instagram
You mentioned she’s currently busy filming (The) Amateur. Its star and executive producer, Rami Malek, is the 12th Oscar winner who’s shared film credits with Caitríona. The others are:
Sir Michael Caine (2)
Morgan Freeman
Jodie Foster (2)
Julia Roberts
George Clooney (2)
Matt Damon
Christian Bale
Andrew Buckland & Michael McCusker**
Donald Sylvester***
Dame Judi Dench
Sir Kenneth Branagh
She is and has been in good company.
Your second question, Anon, is how do I see it in general, Caitríona’s limited social media use?
I appreciate her limited use of social media. I imagine she fulfills contractual obligations and posts beyond that when the spirit moves her, but I get why she’s pulled back. Many actors who have the luxury of choosing not to use social media stay away from it. Some who choose to use it post only project-related, non-personal information. Her being cast in Outlander, and the show’s success, are gifts she cherishes, but they’ve come at a cost. We’ve seen where fans ignore reality and comment on her social media “direct from” Fantasy Island. Who needs that?
Remember… if you're gonna ask people to pay money to come see you in a movie, they don't need to know your every thought all the time. I think there has to be some element of mystery. — George Clooney in Esquire
*Alphabetically, Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Critics Choice Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award

Minnesota Twins-Seattle Mariners Series Preview
5.30.25-Zebby Matthews RHP (0-1) 7.71 ERA Vs. Bryan Woo RHP (5-2) 2.69 ERA
5.31.25-Bailey Ober RHP (4-1) 3.41 ERA Vs. Bryce Miller RHP (2-4) 5.22 ERA
6.1.25-Chris Paddack RHP (2-5) 3.92 ERA Vs. Luis Castillo RHP (4-3) 3.32 ERA
The Twins At A Glance- The Minnesota Twins had a rough week in hot Tampa Bay. The Rays outscored them 14-6 and took two of three games from them. The team activated Byron Buxton off the concussion list and optioned Carson McCusker to St. Paul. Matt Wallner has hit five home runs on his rehab assignment with the Saints and is expected to be activated tomorrow. It's unknown who will get set down when Wallner returns. DaShawn Keirsey has options, but the team has liked him as a pinch-runner and defensive specialist. Harrison Bader has been dealing with a finger injury and only came in as a defensive replacement in Tuesday's game. Carlos Correa is hitting .350 with two homers over his past six games. Christian Vazquez is hitting .300 for the past week. Jhoan Duran has given up just three runs over 25 1/3 innings this year.
The Mariners At A Glance- The Mariners have been a good time in 2025. They are (30-25) and sit in first place of the American League West. The Nationals took two of three games from the M's this week. The homestand continues against the Twins this weekend. Cal Raleigh leads the offense with nineteen homers and thirty-seven RBI. Jorge Polanco has put together a solid season with ten homers and thirty knocked in. Randy Arozarena has struggled with just a .219 average on the year. Mitch Garver has only hit one homer this year with a .216 average. The Mariners starting staff has a 3.91 ERA, which is eighteenth in baseball. Bryan Woo has been their best starter with a 2.40 ERA over ten starts. The bullpen is better with a 3.62 ERA, which is eleventh in MLB. Andres Munoz has been unhittable. He hasn't given up a run over 23 2/3 innings with seventeen saves. Gabe Speier and Casey Legumina have been good late options out of the bullpen.
What To Watch For- The Twins went (5-2) against the Mariners in 2024. They took three of four games at Target Field. The Twins then took two of three from the Mariners in Seattle last June. Zebby Matthews has never faced the Mariners. Bryan Woo gave up seven runs over 3 1/3 innings in his lone start against the Twins. Bailey Ober is (2-0) with a 3.46 ERA in five starts against the Mariners. Bryce Miller is (1-1) with a 6.75 ERA in two starts versus the Twins. Chris Paddack is (4-1) with a 2.45 ERA in five starts against the M's. Luis Castillo is (1-2) with a 5.05 ERA in seven starts against Minnesota. This should be a good series against two solid teams in the American League.

Happy Birthday 80’s one hit wonder Owen Paul McGee born May 1st 1962 in Glasgow.
As a youngster, Paul was taken on as an apprentice with Glasgow Celtic, but after hearing the Sex Pistols he decided to pursue a career in music. In the early 80s he played and sang with Glasgow band Venigmas, which released the single Strangelove
Owen said “I was fifteen and it was around the time of the punk boom, I was still on the books at the club, but everybody was forming bands, and I got roped in. I couldn’t play an instrument but I could make a good noise and to everybody’s surprise, including my own. Immediately I heard punk I knew I had to stop playing football.”
Considering the fact that Owen’s brother Brian went on to form Simple Minds, the move from football to music made sense. Owen, dropped the McGee from his name, became just Owen Paul and moved to London to be involved with a number of lesser known punk and new romantic bands, before getting his big break on BBC2’s Oxford Roadshow. At which point Owen must have thought that this was the start of something big. He was half right.
Although his first single Please To Meet You flopped, it was his follow up that proved to be pivotal moment in what turned out to be a short-lived career.
No sooner had his debut album seen the light of shop shelves, Owen’s began a series fights with label Sony over the direction he wanted to go, by 1986 he turned his back on music. Paul explains: “Everybody thought I was insane, but to me it was obvious. I couldn’t express myself in that environment . If I had been attracted by fame it would have been different. But I wasn’t. If I couln’t make the music I wanted and be happy within myself, I wasn’t going to do it.”
Owen partnered up with old friend Charles B. Lewis, and between them they embarked on all manner of business ventures, including the development of Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood and Warner Village.
It doesn’t end there either. Through his ventures, Owen found the time and money to begin his vision of making music his way. He has released a couple of albums, although they never lived up to his 80’s hit.
Owen has made two memorable television appearances. The first was on the BBC live programme Pebble Mill, when he was meant to mime to “My Favourite Waste of Time” but missed his cue due to a technician’s mistake. The second came much later, as the unfortunate guest of a neighbour of the Osbourne’s, when, by playing music in that neighbour’s garden, he provoked Ozzy and the rest of his dysfunctional family into throwing food.
During the pandemic Owen released a jam based on the chorus of My Favourite Waste of Time featuring Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Toyah, Carol Decker (T'pau), comedian Matt Lucas, Leee John (Imagination), Cheryl Baker (The Fizz), Celtic folk legends Phil Cunningham and John McCusker, session pros Gary Barnacle, Judd Lander and Matt Backer, Mick MacNeil from Simple Minds, Ezio, Bruce Watson from Big Country, members of The Alarm, Jake Burns from Stiff Little Fingers, Terry McDermott (The Voice runner up), and many many more. Each guest improvised, recorded and filmed their parts remotely from their own lockdown situations.
Owen plays the 80′s circuit around holiday camps like Butlins and will next line up with 80′s hitmakers Tight Fit in Wigan this July.
A wee bit trivia, as I said earlier, Owen’s brother is Brian McGee, he was the original drummer with Simple Minds, but left the band in 1981 a year before they hit the big time.

One Mann's Movies Film Review: Le Mans '66 (2019).
One Mann's Movies Film Review: Le Mans '66. Thrilling and brilliantly entertaining. Gets a 5/5 from me. Go see it at the cinema!
A linear story on a circular track – but beautifully done.

Hang on… I’m going to gush.
When I was a kid getting into movies in the 60’s CARS were always a big attraction. Even though I wouldn’t remotely describe myself as a ‘petrol-head’ today (the childish antics of “Top Gear” leave me cold), as a kid it was the car chases and car stunts that most excited me. As I’ve probably said in…
