A Minecraft server I love and have played on for years has new spawns! It's called Dragon's Nest
It is a very small server
Server IP mc.cybertivity.com
Discord discord.gg/szDpvja
This is the new hub/main spawn
They have a few different things to pick from:
(Green) PVE- a more peaceful survival world where you can hangout with friends and relax
(Pink Portal) PVP/Factions- a harder world where you can fight against other factions or create your own
(Yellow Portal) Plots/PlotMe- a creative world with areas to build and play around with all sorts of ideas
(Blue Portal) Minigames- where you have a handful of games to play together with friends
Things don't always work perfectly but the staff does their best to help fix any issues as soon as possible
Most of the old players have moved onto different things in life so it would be nice to get a few new people interested in playing and helping build a new community for this server

so I don't love the new villager changes. but I also don't hate them
this is probably old news by now but WHATEVER
I love pretty much everything other than the librarian changes, and the only two reasons are Too Expensive! and villager transportation.
so the simple solution I have is to allow villagers to ride on camels. (also remove too expensive but that's not the main point of this)
to clarify incase somehow you missed it, Minecraft 1.20.2 introduced optional (love that they made it optional) villager changes that among other things make librarians sell different enchanted books depending on the biome type they are. some enchanted books are locked behind villager types that don't naturally spawn, so you have to get two villagers to that biome and breed them to get the enchantments.
a lot of transportation in minecraft is redundant. elytra outclasses every intended movement method, and most of them don't have much of a use beyond movement. camels allow two players to ride instead of one, like boats for land. speaking of which, boats on land are the primary way I've transported villagers whenever ive done so, it's awful.
currently, in order to transport villagers, there's about 4 viable options. minecarts, boat travel on water, boat on land/boat sky bridge, and boat nether travel. things like minecarts are super resource intensive, boat on water takes luck, skybridge is ugly and boring, and nether travel takes as much time to set up as riding a boat in the over world from the beginning does.
time is the main problem here. none of these things except the nether takes skill. the nether mostly just takes skill not to die and lose the villager, and if you're not able to do that well then go ride a boat in a straight line for 30 minutes instead of 10, twice. every other tedious thing in Minecraft is done to prevent risk. strip mining is tedious right? well if you're bored you can go caving instead! waiting for cows to grow up? you could go exploring for more cows! traveling in the nether by tunneling near the top? you could also go down and fight for your life!
in every way, villager transportation is boring, but usually pretty safe. this is where camels come in! instead of slowly rowing, you could be down on the ground avoiding mobs and seeing the sights and having fun with a villager in the back seat. more fun for players, gives a use for camels in single player, hopefully pretty balanced.
you still have to find a camel, but with the new biome structure maps from villagers, it shouldn't be too hard. villagers will get off the camel when it sits down, meaning it won't happen while in motion.
I doubt this'll ever actually happen, but I had an idea and it wouldn't leave. i want more villager balance I like the idea but in practice it's really boring to transport villagers and the villager changes exacerbate that problem.

In addition to the changes of previous beta versions, this release version includes:
Added the Placer wheelchair upgrade! This upgrade adds its own discrete inventory slot, which only accepts blocks. Roughly every 1/4 second, while the wheelchair is on solid ground, the upgrade will attempt to place a block from its inventory beneath the wheelchair. Ideal for bridging! Applied with a dispenser.
Added the Handles wheelchair upgrade! When a wheelchair with this upgrade is right-clicked, if it is already being ridden, it will bind to the player much like a walker does. This allows a wheelchair to be moved by someone other than the user, though the user can use the Untie button in the inventory to sever this binding and prevent a new one for 3 seconds. Applied with iron bars.
Added the wheeled stool! This item is not well-suited to exploration but ideal if you just want to rest your feet for a moment at home.
Added translation for all sounds, as well as a sound event when drawing from a cane sword
Added metal wheels in copper, iron, gold, and netherite forms
Added copper cane handle
Added walker crafting recipe
Ostensibly resolved the "phantom walker" bug that would result when the game crashed or was force-closed. I've already fixed this one like three times so I'm not definitively saying it's gone, but I'm like... 98% sure...

Welcome to Atrium.
Atrium is a Minecraft Java Edition server currently running 1.20.2.
Our server is Survival mode, and focuses on community and storytelling.
Atrium has been a very small community for the last 3 years, and we have decided to allow some folks from Tumblr onto our whitelist.
Our server is semi-modded with a lot of custom datapack content, but no special installation is required to play.
We endeavor to be extremely supportive of LGBT+ individuals, neurodiversity, and other marginalized people.
If you are a chill person and like the sound of fantasy vibes, a custom magic system, and a frankly unnecessary amount of lore, you're in the right place.
Atrium is launching Iteration 5 in early February.
Apply here if you're interested.

Man I didn't think it'd been that long since I played minecraft but apparently resource packs have gone from version 15 to version 18 and I basically have to redo all the GUI textures. Why do they just randomly reorganize the entire structure of resource packs out of the blue every few months😭
#granted sometimes they go up like 4 version in an update. but still#it's so much more complicated now too like it was way easier to have all the icons in one sheet instead of each individually#and in a whole bunch of weird special folders too#mannnn it's gonna take forever to update this#armchair speaks#minecraft#(to be clear the last time I played was 1.20.1 and it's only 1.20.2 rn)

Personally I kind of prefer to play Minecraft without mods* (I don’t think it needs mods, they’re fun but sometimes you just wanna do vanilla + data packs yknow), but my computer doesn’t so I updated my mods yesterday (the ones that have 1.21 updates so far at least) and like
I’m never over the difference between playing with Sodium versus not. Without it my computer overheats so quickly, but with it I can play for so long before the fan even kicks in appreciably. It runs so much better with sodium and ten other mods going than it does vanilla.
(Mods I have currently are Sodium, Indium, Mouse Tweaks, Biomes O’Plenty, I’m like 90% sure we’ve got Explorify, Explorer’s Compass, Nature’s Compass, and a couple other like API or Library things that some mods need to run. I hope Inventory Sorter, Traveler’s Backpack, and Bedrockify get an update soon, but I can be patient.)
*My favorite mods are like structure and biome mods and QoL/Utility mods. I’m not really interested in like technology/power mods
#Minecraft#modded minecraft#literally I couldn’t play survival modded bc it was too many things rendering and then I got sodium and suddenly I can play modded survival#it’s great!#I had better archaeology and dunes & droughts but they haven’t been updated yet#I am loving biomes o’plenty tbh#it’s so pretty#when I first got Java edition (1.20.2) I had OptiFine and that was it but I kind of prefer Sodium tbh#ok the mods I got indium for haven’t been updated yet but I did get the updated indium for when/if they are#or if I get something else that needs Athena or whatever it’s called#bc sodium without indium breaks Athena and it took me far too long to figure that out (it took me too long to look at the Athena page where#it is stated quite clearly)#the only thing is that I updated my resource packs and some of the things don’t work right with sodium but mostly lighting stuff

cubfan135 fact #140:
In his Season 10 Episode 6, Cub conducted an experiment to determine wether strip mining or caving was a more efficient method for mining diamonds in Minecraft version 1.20.2.
Cub dedicated over ten and a half hours to each method, and found that strip mining produced 2.7 diamonds per minute while cave mining produced 3.86 diamonds per minute. That's about 1.16 extra diamonds per minute! Cave mining also produced 214% more diamonds than his previous study in Season 9 before the 1.20.2 update.
"Basically, the conclusion is... Dear god, for the love of god, if you're strip mining, stop it! Get some help!" -cubfan135

This is the new PVP/Factions spawn for Dragon's Nest
Server IP mc.cybertivity.com
A very small server I've played for a long time
This is PVP/Factions where you can fight against other factions or create your own
Anything goes here- stealing, griefing, killing, all that fun stuff
If that's something you enjoy then you'll probably like playing on here
Unfortunately our playerbase has gone down over the years
So I recommend inviting friends and making factions to fight against each other
We'd love to build a new community and have an active playerbase again

So I'm modding Minecraft, and I'm looking through the textures for boats. I've discovered a little fun fact.
As of 1.20.2-ish, the texture for the jungle boat variant has a mysterious unused oval shape that none of the other variants have. This part of the texture is completely unusable in the code, because boat models and what textures are put on them is predefined in the code for boat entities (with an exception for bamboo rafts), but it's still there, even though jungle boats have no unique model in-game.

While we wait to discover which will win, Optifine updating to 1.20.2 or me downloading Iris, here's some WIP screenshots I took of one of my current projects before our realm updated! I caught the minecraft disease that makes you want to build custom trees so I'm working on prettying up the forest around my base, lighting the area enough to make it safe while looking as natural as possible. IT HAS TURNED OUT TO BE, A BIG PROJECT, but I'm really happy with how it's coming out so far!!

The Good, the Bad, and the Rowdy: D&D Origins Version 1.1.0
This update features several major additions and changes, most notably:
Added the Aasimar race (the good).
Added Tiefling sub-races (the bad).
Added the Kobold race (the rowdy).
Added the Artificer class.
Created a "single-player" version.
Check the version release notes on GitHub for more information: [Main] [Single-Player]
What does "Single-Player" mean in this context?
Good question! The only content of the pack affected in this version is the Artificer and the Wizard; in the main version of the pack, the Infusions you can learn as an Artificer are divided up into different specializations, and the spells you can learn as a Wizard are divided up and made exclusive to various schools of magic, limiting the total number of infusions/enchantments you can learn to encourage diversity within any given server, and to keep any one player from becoming too overpowered. In the single-player version of the pack, this specialization/school division does not exist, and any one Artificer can learn any and all Infusions, while any one Wizard can learn any and all enchantments! While this change is intended to enchance the single-player Artificer/Wizard experience, this doesn't mean this version of the pack must be exclusively used in single-player servers; it's just up to the server admins and their priorities for their players.
