Set in the same universe as @postal-patricia and @bifrost-slickoil as well as @persephoneyard-killerwatt

The moderator is an adult in Canada and the CB interpretation of this blog is for their own AU.

(The blog name “Cinnamon Badger” is supposed to be what some would call CB over the radio as his ‘call name’ when communicating between trains and stations.)

Some facts about CB so I can navigate Tumblr as him:

-he’s an adult and has been for a while, Dustin is his son.

-his Tumblr somehow connected through to the multiverse and he’s fascinated by it all and horrified by some of the stuff in our world(as his is an alternate history situation)

-he likes drawing but he’s got to be careful about not having pens/pencils out on the field as to not accidentally stab himself(he’s a little accident prone) so he doodles with wax crayons.

General rules are the typical no NSFW and that I reserve the right to not answer asks I’m not comfortable with.

leaving engineering youtube videos on as background noise is great training for when i have a kid and need to constantly filter what they're saying in the next room for signs of impending doom. like this one guy made a "water" gun that freezes the water into ice bullets and then shoots it hard enough to shatter glass, as one does, and he's saying something about an air compressor before offhandedly mentioning a PVC pipe which instantly gets my attention

PVC pipes are not rated for air pressure. if you overpressurize a PVC pipe, it will explode into shrapnel that is almost impossible to remove because it doesn't show up on xrays. this man has made a pipe bomb and is testing it directly next to himself with no safety equipment.

thankfully it fails by the O-ring popping out instead of the pipe fucking exploding. hopefully he learned a valuable less- hey wait what are you doing with that dremel no no NO NO

AHHHHHHHH HE FUCKING RESEATS THE O-RING AND REPRESSURIZES THE PIPE BOMB AND THEN JUST LEAVES IT SITTING THERE

OK, fair warning to the few people I actually managed to convince to try the game??

Rain world does NOT play like hollow knight, and you'll get your butt kicked if you approach it like that.

It's really hard. Like, really hard. Instead of the game literally giving you abilities in the form of power-ups and damage buffs, the only abilities you gain is from what you learn and your own ingenuity. You're a rat from beginning to end. If you just beef your way through it, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be confused and frustrated all the time. But if you pay attention, take it slow, and learn how the ai works and how everything interacts with each other, you can consistently get through and dominate situations you thought were impossible to do so when you first began. Now get out there, kill some lizards, and bully some old computers!

CB can also not see any out of character posts so in universe posts that aren’t from him will be from either “William” or “Sophia” and be tagged as “#CB’s Humans”. He can see those posts.

In universe CB(and just general rolling stock) headcannons I use for Writing and Role play.

(Relevant for @cinnamon-badger in particular)

-Rolling stock that is ‘born’ ages the same as humans for the first 20 years of their life only to suddenly stop or simply slow down the aging process. This means a 90 year old caboose might look and act the same as a 40 year old caboose or even a freshly 20 year old caboose. Some factors will however cause stock to age further, like with Poppa.

-stock typically starts working at 15 to 17 years old but freight can start as young as 14.

-CB is actually a LOT younger then some people assume but he doesn’t like talking about his age. He has however been working for his current yard for about 30 years as of 2025.

-the yard he stays at is called the Amphitrite yard, formerly known as the “Poseidon yard” as it it located near a salt water river. His birth yard is known as the “Apollo yard”. He has a cousin living at the “Persephone yard” and two nieces at the “Bifrost yard”.

-CB’s duties outside of being the brake van is to be a general caretaker for the freight. Other then some designated humans and Poppa he’s the one to wake up the freight in the morning, who cooks for his freight and he has to look out for their general safety. He doesn’t have a lot of free time away from his freight or humans.

-stock works very closely with humans, Locomotives, coaches and Caboose all having human workers in them during work hours, though they can do their job without the humans as well. The humans also help care for the rolling stock but cleaning and repairing them as needed.

-CB actually has 2 conductors he works closest with. He’s got William, who’s been working with him for about 20 years now, and Sophia who joined the team 10 years ago(2 years after his disabling accident). The humans don’t participate in racing and don’t always go on runs with him though.

-CB and Dinah have been together since 2022, a year after the Amphitrite yard hosted the world championships and that she didn’t go back with Elvis. They are currently in custody of a 2 year old baby diesel/electric locomotive. CB looses a LOT of sleep from the baby keeping him up but he wants one of his own. Don’t question his weird paternal instincts.

-speaking of paternal instincts! He’s legally Dustin’s father, having adopted him when this one was 6, and the former foster father of Flat top, who aged out of the system under his care. He considers both his sons and they see each other as brothers.

Hello hello!

If you’re reading this we’ve made it to the hiatus point! Which is…Very sad tbh :’D but what can ya do? As stated before I currently have no plans to stop the story. I do very much want to come back to it one day, but new baby comes first!! I will return to you lovely people when I am able to, but will still be lurking around on my main ( @quins-makeshift-menagerie ) if you have any questions or just wanna say hi!

"To be honest the Boomers in Fo:NV always irked me. Mostly because there were things that just didn't make sense about them. Like because they never left their Air Force Base headquarters, how could they actually 'see' things that there was no possible way for them to see.
