All this talk re: blood types but also A/B/O but also werewolves etc made me think, could an intersex condition in that world be that say in human shape a person could be afab but in wolf shape amab? With all the attendant characteristics? Do you get modelocked if you get pregnant in the body that can do that? Or do pregnancies always modelock you regardless to develop the baby?

Anyway all this to say; we do sorta have some irl examples for the blood transfusion change shenanigans you mention. There's human chimeras where diff parts have diff DNA (that woman's story is wild, they kept testing and having the result that her bio children were not hers, then they realized) or, in the case of certain donations (stem cells and bone marrow) you actually have two sets of DNA and if pulled it might say an afab woman with no intersex conditions is an amab man with no intersex conditions bc he was her donor.

In other words, as always, life is stranger than fiction but I just want to think about werecreatures getting truly strange you know?

The snow flurry is being quite bothersome now and Wild has amassed a collection of snowflakes in her hair. With a huff Wild waves her arms about trying to disperse the snow as she explains to Cliffjumper. "Have you ever heard of a modelock? It's where you get stuck in one mode either alt mode or your root mode and can't transform. " Eventually the snow flurry stops. "Your frame is stuck as your alt mode for however long this is going to last, you aren't alone mine is the same." She sighs. "As for driving.. well it's not the easiest of thing's to get used to. Think of it as piloting a spacecraft rather than driving."

"Cliff! I need your help!" A small human Wild yells.

It's not like she's dying, she's just hungry and needs to eat human food.

So far he's only been quietly panicking in the front seat of his own alt mode, but the shout causes him to fumble for the door handle. No matter her different voice, and his different audials- ears- Cliffjumper would recognize Wild in a sparkbeat.

Granted, he then promptly falls over his own feet trying to get out.

-the transtectors that the headmaster juniors and godmasters use for both sides were sentient beforehand, or in the case of the headmaster juniors, were created for cyberdroids on planet master, in particular goshooter was made for jack from headmasters before his demise, overlord meanwhile was a decepticon warlord that ended up getting put into stasis lock sometime during the timeskip between season one of the jap g1 show and season 2 aka transformers 2010 or the movie.

-godbomber has it’s own seperate intelligence from god ginrai, personality wise basically springer but snarkiness toned down a bit

-mostly because we can’t have a transformers show without the starscream trope, overlord wants to basically take over whatever devil z’s planning and rejoin the main decepticon forces in space, but can’t really do much cuz AHEM married couple momento

-after the end of super god masterforce and sometime between victory, buster and hydra actually end up being split from their transtector bodies via some weird ass scifi experiment courtesy of deathsaurus or whatever, with their transtector bodies gaining their personalities, albeit without a sibling relationship

-scorponok actually did end up surviving the destruction of blackzarak after devil z took over his body, but in a fitting act of karma for the stunts he pulled during headmasters, got captured by the autobots and imprisoned.

-the other decepticon pretenders from the 1988 toyline were also apart of dauros group when they ended up on earth thousands of years ago, but never really got a chance to do much cause well, they’re dead jim.

-the decepticon forces in space aren’t under the control of blackzarak, but rather a trio of soundblaster, cyclonus, and scourge

This morning's cursed Sonic discussion point: Can non-mammalian Mobians get rabies? 🤔

In the real world, birds can get rabies, but it's incredibly rare, to the point that we didn't used to think it could happen outside the lab. There's has, however, been at least one case of transmission to a chicken in the real world. Also, differing body temperatures are a thing: Virginia opossums are resistant to rabies infection because of their low body temperature compared to other mammals. They usually only contract the virus if they were already running a fever from something else.

I suppose it partially depends on if you interpret Mobians as being technically a single species or not: I've headcanoned for a long time that they're one species of morphers who get modelocked pre-birth. (They have a relationship with Chao similar to humans' relationship with chimps.) And even if they are technically a single species, it's such a wildly diverse one that different 'subspecies' may have different susceptibilities, even within the mammals.

...Can Shadow get rabies? (Can the other ULFs, since I headcanon that Sonic and Silver had similar origins?) Probably, honestly. He'd get the prophylaxis treatment, I think. I would say it's likely that anybody, human or Mobian, who gets bitten by a suspicious animal gets the prophylaxis because You Don't Fuck Around With Rabies, but I found myself wondering about it.

On Sun, probably only once, if even that! The threat of harm is more than enough to keep him docile. Actually, he's so rejection-sensitive that most of the other techs can even just use stern looks to keep him in line, so that should tell you how low Paul's patience threshold is. I won't give a firm number because I like to let readers interpret their past relationship how they want. :]

Moon, though... Well, Paul stopped letting him front for maintenance a loooooong time ago, and for good reason! He's rebellious by nature and would power through the pain just to see how far Paul would go, with the intent of allowing permanent harm to be done if it meant Paul would get the boot for damaging the merchandise. Mostly on his bad days, though by the time Paul stopped calling him in and started modelocking Sun, their encounters were pretty much all bad days.

The prod is just a standard issue thing, btw! The intended use is to force a soft system reboot on malfunctioning systems, because in tech most issues can be solved just by turning it off and back on again. Paul's the one who started misusing it, and because he was Department Lead for a while, the practice unfortunately spread.

The Owl House, Season 1, Episode 18, “Agony of a Witch,” First Impressions!

Ah, the plot. You are most welcome.

Welp, we’re finally here. The moment I’ve been waiting for. The larger plot that’s been hanging over the show so far as finally chosen to step into the spotlight.

And it did so in the second-to-last episode. Oh well.

Though, hey, before I go on, was it really necessary to shelve Amity? I know she wasn’t needed, and her cameo scene was funny, but she was still missed. Meh, given the episode’s importance, they probably wanted to restrict things to only the characters that were absolutely needed, and having Amity and Lilith face off would have distracted from the whole sisters thing.

But it does mean I can’t tag this with lumity, which is the money tag in this fandom.

Actually, you know what, I WILL talk about that! It’s nothing to do with the episode, but I’ve been thinking: anyone else kind of feel that Dana looked at the whole rapport Dipper and Pacifica built up in that one single episode of Gravity Falls and all the chemistry they had but then did nothing with and decided that in her show, she would do something similar, but have the snooty rich girl bully rival switch sides earlier and put a lot of focus on the romantic tension between her and the main character with a long, slow burn? I mean, Luz does have a lot of both of the Pine twins in her!

Anyway, the episode. Yeah, it kicked ass. And, um, can I just point out that as annoying as everyone finds him, it was so freaking cool to finally see why Eda keeps Hooty around? I mean, my boy just fucking cut loose and annihilated Lilith and all those troops, all the while still being uniquely himself. That was boss.

Yes, I do like Hooty more than Swift Wind. Come at me.

But anyway, things are getting bad on the home front. Eda’s curse is getting worse. It’s taking more and more elixir to bring her back, while more and more of her magic gets sapped. 

But it’s okay! Because Luz’s class is about to go on a field trip to the Emperor’s palace, which is said to hold a special hat that can cure all curses! And Luz being Luz, she resolves to steal it and finally cure Eda. And once they figure out what she’s up to, Willow and Gus join in on the heist. 

This...doesn’t go well. Because of Lilith.

Well, I had initially guessed that Emperor Belos was the one behind Eda’s curse, but if you’ll recall, I also named Lilith as another likely suspect, and here it’s confirmed, so I’ll go ahead and say I called it. We still don’t get to see why, but it’s clear that she feels guilty about what she did to her sister. Not that it stops her from fulfilling her promise to the Emperor.

Which brings us to the episode’s two big selling points.

Firstly, we finally get to meet Emperor Belos, and he fully lives up to the hype. The guy is like the Lich from Adventure Time: a truly creepy, intimidating villain with nothing silly about him in an otherwise weird and silly show. The guy has a ton of presence, and I look forward to seeing more of him. I wonder what sort of malady he’s suffering from, and why does he need to absorb the essences of palismans to control it? Is he a palisman hiding beneath all that armor? And is that the Titan’s heart he has chained up over his throne?

Also, we get Eda and Lilith’s rematch, only this time there are no fun and games. The two absolutely cut loose, and it’s spectacular to see. I can see that they were saving their animation budget for this fight. Also, Eda’s line about how weak the curse had made her? “Then why could you never beat me even at my worse?” Damn girl, that was COLD!

In the end, Eda has been modelocked as an owl beast and captured, and Luz goes home in disgrace. And I am very much looking forward to the rescue attempt in the final episode.

Good Omens Ladyhawke AU where post-failpocalypse the Powers That Be curse Crowley to stay a snek during the day time, and Aziraphale a.... Birb? Dove?? During the nighttime, so they can't actually see each other. Bc they're Celestial (and ex-Celestial) they have their own personalities still, but they're modelocked.
