The Human Mind is Truly Remarkable
by Thomas Marsh-Connors Angry British Conservative Blog
We live in an age obsessed with machines artificial intelligence, robots, algorithms, and self-driving cars. And yet, every so often, something as simple as tossing your phone in the air reminds you: that nothing mankind has created comes close to the brilliance of the human brain.
Earlier today, while chatting with a mate on the phone, I found myself instinctively throwing my iPhone in the air and catching it. Over and over. Absent-mindedly. Without even thinking about it.
And then it hit me: How the hell is my brain doing this?
I wasn’t consciously focusing on catching the phone. I wasn’t calculating trajectory or distance. I wasn’t telling my fingers when to close or where to move. I was having a conversation and yet, somehow, another part of me was tracking a moving object in space, adjusting my hand’s position in real-time, compensating for motion, light, gravity, and muscle tension. All without conscious effort.
Let me tell you something: that’s not normal. At least, it shouldn't be. It’s not something we should take for granted. It’s miraculous.
A Symphony of Silent Genius
Your brain is a conductor and your body is the orchestra. Just to perform this simple task (tossing and catching a phone), dozens of brain regions coordinate perfectly:
The motor cortex activates your muscles.
The cerebellum controls timing, precision, and balance.
The visual cortex tracks the phone’s arc.
The dorsal stream predicts where the phone will land.
Proprioception (your sixth sense) tells you where your hand is in space.
Reflexes make tiny last-second adjustments.
And the best part? You don’t have to think about any of it.
You're running two separate but perfectly synchronized processes one verbal (talking to your friend) and one physical (catching your phone). And both are happening seamlessly. Your brain is splitting tasks, assigning them to different areas, prioritizing efficiently, and updating inputs constantly. That’s not just multitasking that’s a level of organic processing power no AI system has ever come close to.
We Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
As a Christian, this sort of thing only deepens my awe. You could spend your entire life studying neuroscience and still not touch the depths of how the mind works. The way the brain governs the body silently, precisely, and with effortless grace speaks of something far greater than random chance or chemical coincidence. It’s design, not chaos. Order, not noise.
And while Big Tech wants us all to marvel at the “latest breakthrough” in silicon intelligence, perhaps we ought to spend a bit more time being blown away by the carbon-based intelligence sitting between our ears.
Your mind is not just remarkable it’s sacred.
So next time you find yourself tossing your phone, catching a mug without spilling the tea, or typing a text while crossing the road without getting flattened just pause. Marvel. Respect the machinery you’ve been gifted.
Because the most powerful computer on earth… is you.

day 54 - 2/23/24 - MUSCLEMEMORY
this beefy brain never skips stem day!
...so, originally there was just gonna be an eyeball in the middle, but then i noticed that in the middle of the brain, it kind of looks like a mouth! and above that kind of looks like eyes! so i decided to give it a face instead, and then i was like, ooh, what if i give it a luchador mask! and then i did that and then the patterns that looked like a face were no longer there so it was kind of pointless. i would turn it back to just being an eye but i dont wanna deal with the hassle of erasing the mask and then redrawing what the brain used to look like under there and then covering it up again but with a different shape

Phantom Inputs (2023)
It’s weird how your hands still remember the weight, the button layout, the resistance of analog sticks. Even after all these years. Muscle memory never really fades.
The translucent plastic was always futuristic, like holding a piece of the future in your hands. But now, it's a portal back to a time when play was immersive in a way adulthood never quite recaptures.
The overlay isn’t just an aesthetic choice. It’s the way memory actually works, doubling back on itself. The more you try to place it, the blurrier it gets.
There’s something hauntological about controllers, about video game hardware in general. The hands grip the controller in the now, but the memory grips back.
Is memory just a series of inputs, an interface we return to over and over, pressing the same buttons in the hope of recreating a feeling?
What does it mean to hold a past version of yourself in your hands?

A yess.... my melodic metal playlist is back, lul.
So, first time proper animating something / drawing while animating, in fact. This is why I decided to go with something... easy to comprehent... for my brainybrain? like windshwooshes? seemed doable to me..
And of f*cking course, who else needs to step in as motive in question, if not my dear man himself.. because I have at least a bit of musclememory on how to draw him after the hundreth sketch or so...
And also because he had a rough day, ok.. cut him a breather in the wind guys.. he's date got dumped.. no literally, he didn't dump him, his date was being dumped..well he had to help, but he didn't want to and it's a long story..(rough day, I told ya)
(っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ
Also I don't know why you would, but feel free to use my gifs, I guess, i don't mind
In case you wonder about that playlist, here's some excerpt:
Ghost in the Rain - Beast in Black
Wrong Side of Heaven - Ekaterina Shelehova
Limits - Bad Omens
Shoemaker - Nightwish
Made of Lies - Elysion
Alone - Exit Eden
(*゚ェ゚*) music - best thing in this world.

How your sitting posture can affect your health
Tumblr media
To state the obvious, sitting with your legs crossed at the knees isn’t exactly a medical emergency. Many people can sit this way a lot of the time without it harming their health. But crossing your legs could cause gluteal pressure and hip and pelvis misalignment, which can lead to a slouched posture and back pain. According to an older 2010 study, sitting with your legs crossed may also increase your blood pressure. You can even increase blood clot risk after crossing your legs for just 30 minutes! ️
These common body positions can also overwork and strain your postural tissues:
sitting slumped to one side with your spine bent
keeping your knees, ankles, or arms crossed
dangling or not properly supporting your feet
sitting in one position for extended periods without taking a break
straining your neck by looking down or at screens for a long time
If you get frequent headaches and/or your neck, shoulders, or back often hurts, this may be a sign that it’s time to change your sitting habits. It could take a while to retrain your muscle memory, but it can be done. Being mindful and aware is the first step!️️
To better protect your body and reduce your risk of any health issues, here are some posture tips to keep in mind:
Sit up tall and look straight ahead without straining your neck.
Rest your feet flat on the floor so that your knees are bent at a 90-degree angle (a footrest can be helpful for this).
Hold your elbows to your sides to create an L-shape with your arms.
Relax your shoulders.
Place your ankles in front of your knees.
Remember to stand up frequently and/or go for walks throughout the day if you live a sitting-heavy lifestyle! *Notes to self.*
