Summary: L was more like a machine than a human, he was cold, calculated and a "no fun and games" type of person aside from the occasional sarcastic or dry humored comment. L never lost his composure and would repress any emotion he had as a intimidation tactic. He was blunt and wouldn't allow anything or anyone to dethrone him.

However around you, L wasn't quite that...

The task force had suspected you and L were a couple, but whenever anyone asked about it, L would quickly shut down the conversation and went back to his work, saying that it wasn't any of their business. You and L were a couple but he just wanted to keep things secretive and professional since doing otherwise made him feel vulnerable.

He couldn't let his suspect Light know how much you meant to him just in case he used it against him, plus it was just in L's nature to be serective.

However as soon the doors were closed and the task force was gone, he would be nuzzling into your shoulder, whining for attention. He would never stop clinging onto you until he got he's way because in his own words, "I'm also childish and don't like to lose".

Like today for instance:

"Not now Lolly, I've got an appointment to book", you said sighing while L continued kissing your neck and nibbling your ear from behind. "I love you but I do not appreciate your lack of cooperation" L then grumbled.

Lolly was your main pet name for L since it sounded like it was short for lollipop, (and we all know how much L loves those) and sounded similar to his real name, Lawliet. Panda was also another common one since he reminded you of one with his dark eyes and pale skin.

He then kneeled in between your legs with his head resting on your thigh, looking up at you in annoyance in an attempt to guilt trip you, (however he couldn't mask he's pleading eyes). "Lolly I already told you I'm busy, just 10 more minutes okay my love?" you cooed while stroking his cheek. But L didn't care, he picked you up bridal style from your chair and tossed you onto the bed. "Lawliet, you should know of all people how important it is to not have any distractions from your work" you said rasing an eyebrow. "You make a fair point" L says with his thumb on his lip, "But I'm not feeling very empathetic tonight" then he proceeded to smother you with kisses.

Your dates were either cafe hopping, picnics in the park, or L trying to teach you tennis. You would always try to get him to wear shoes but he would refuse, saying "I don't like how they feel". "I know but I don't want you to step on a piece of glass and hurt yourself" you would say while kissing his forehead. "I will live" L would reply while blushing from your kiss. You would then sigh and take off your shoes, "Fine, if that's how you want to play" and you both would walk around barefoot.

Another thing L wouldn't budge on is removing all the cameras and wiring taps from your room, if someone broke in and tired to hurt you he needed to know immediately who was responsible so he could toss them in jail forever. He valued your life way more than his, afterall, he did challenge Kira to kill him live on broadcast.

L absolutely loved when you taunted his number one suspect Light, in fact it was his love language.

"I'm not Kira!" Light would yell.

"You're not a very convincing actor Light, but hey! Maybe they'll give you an academy award in prison just for trying. Light Yagami! Mass murderer tries playing innocent victim!".

As a detective, L would always be analysising people's behaviour and you were no expectation.

"How was your day darling?" L cooed.

"Fine. I'm going to my room".

You say that you're fine Y/N yet you're tone and lack of physical affection would indicate otherwise. Could you be trying to deprive me of your attention as an indirect punishment? What could have I done?

However, you did mention how your work load has increased because of the lack of empyoees, were you stressed from that and simply avoided me to avoid talking about it? I should confront you instead of making any assumptions, it could make matters worse because you might believe that I am deliberately ignoring you.

He was known for his cold behavior towards anyone who wasn’t his wife

His heart melted and reformed

As you became older with your mother going missing your father had abandoned his position of a once high and glory position most would dream of to take care of you

He went by Shedletsky now

Yet as the days went by and no matter how much time he spent with you and his endless attempts to find his wife he couldn’t ignore it

His hatred

It was growing

It was too much

It was corrupting him

So he made a living manifestation of it

It was only supposed to be a mountain of code that expressed his hatred so he could keep on moving

So he could keep on playing pretend swords with you

Yet that code reformed

Into a child

In a way you could say 1x1x1x1 was your younger sibling

When you found him in a locked away cage in the middle of your exploration of the forest behind your house in a cave

You soon swore to him that you would take down whatever meanie trapped him there

You would visit him every day that you could when your father was too wrapped up in finding your mother to notice you slipping away

You would sneak in snacks and sugary drinks

You would laugh with them

Until

Shedletsky had found him

You brought him to 1x4 thinking that your father could free your friend

But when 1x1x1x1 saw him

He hated him

Told you he was the person who trapped him

Then everything spiraled

He banned 1x1x1x1 to the banlands

All while you cried and begged for him not to

And then that night when he tucked you in for bed promising that 1x4 just went to sleep in the dreamlands

Returning to not his former position but as a weaker position alongside his friend

A laugh echoed throughout Planet Voss as Shedletsky tried to run away clutching his bleeding wound that was being infected by corrupted code

And then…

That’s when he truly stopped for the first time in his life to think to himself and realize the emotions he kept down for so long as he looked up

The Spectre had changed you

Warped your mind and memory to its liking

Made it so that Telamon and BrightEyes were just people of the past that you had forgotten

Made it so that Shedletsky had abandoned you alongside your younger sibling fighting to fend for yourself while you both suffered and eventually being banned by him

Some headcanons^^

໒꒱ Just how the Spectre warped your mind when you first forsaken into the hell I would imagine that like when the Spectre was bored and becoming dull with the rounds he would give you your memories back completely

໒꒱ It never fails to entertain the Spectre as you would immediately bundle yourself up and cry when you were chosen as the killer

໒꒱ And each time you would cry in your fathers chest scared about your corrupted code crying about how you missed your mother, crying about how everything hurts, crying about how you wanted to go back home, to play swords with him and afterwards he would buy fried chicken as you both play hide and seek and then he would tuck you into bed so you could repeat it all over again

໒꒱ It hurts him to see his child again that’s why he would always mess around and joke (while secretly using both med kits that he had on him and his friend chicken just so that he had more time to talk to you again)

໒꒱ But of course every time he would eventually slowly die because of your corrupted code or if he managed to live he would watch as you slipped away crying and begging for him not to leave as you were both separated again

໒꒱ It never failed to make him cry and cry wishing for you to be free

໒꒱ And every time it would hurt even more when in the next round you were back to your corrupted self forgetting all that had happened

໒꒱ While you gained your memories you would talk to 1x1x1x1 again since he was the only person you knew in a cabin full of strangers that looked weird

You don't have to force yourself to report them if you don't feel comfortable doing it or it takes too much time, the main thing i don't like with reposts is that there's usually no way to track back to the original artist (aside from the moral question of earning popularity from someone else's work)

For starters, shy isn't a problem for L. He appreciates that you're quiet and relatively polite. It makes it easier for him to get away with dating you because he knows you're not going to be obnoxious around headquarters, and there's a good chance you'll never even mention that you're his partner

He finds it vry cute. Especially when you stumble over your words when he flirts with you. His pride is very comfy with you.

You are a perfect parallel play lover!!! He's grateful that you don't pester him when he's busy, but he doesn't mind you being around him. You can draw, do homework, write, play video games, anything. He just appreciates your company. He's also 100% paying attention out of his peripheral vision.

But because you're quiet, sometimes you don't share all of your thoughts with him and it can make for a satisfying relationship. L sure as shit isn't disclosing a lot of stuff, so he sees it as even

So he reminds you. Again. And again. That he wants you in his life and treasures you

You're lucky that he loves you so much

Sometimes, you'll go through periods of isolating from him because you're afraid of bothering him. Trust me. He's glad to have time to work, but he does pick up on your distance quick

or even just a bite of his cake. He always offers, tho.

But yea. L is a busy guy and comfortable in seclusion, so he isn't that clingy. He can go a long time without checking in on you, which doesn't help the paranoia

When he decides to take a break for once, usually his first instinct is to either 1. Get coffee or a treat, or 2. Make a bee line to see you!!

OR 3. BRING YOU FOOD TO SHARE

Know that he loves you much more than most things. You are his priority, even if his work takes precedence at times.

He'll attempt to build your trust over time because he understands how hard it is to believe in someone's honesty. It'll get better, and you'll likely start to feel more self-assured with him. L talks a lot, but he believes actions speak louder than words, so he'll show you how much he loves you through the little things because you light up his world after an exhausting day full of murder and nonstop thinking. You're home to him and he wants you to feel the same way about him.

Thinking of Yandere! Light with an enabler darling.

In order for this to work I think they'd have to meet at childhood, like in primary school or perhaps their parents would've been friends; because that's when kids have the most innocence and not understanding the true nature of the world.

I like to believe that even at a young age, Light would hold a dislike for those who did wrong. After all his father served in the police department, so it wouldn't be unusual to hear cases that are darker. Thus, leading him to mature more quickly than his peers. So imagine when he meets darling who doesn't understand human nature. As in the behavior and actions of a person, Light doesn't know this so he chose to believe darling is extremely sheltered and innocent.

So just imagine how it would be in secondary school, at this point you understood that Light was... more abnormal than the rest of your peers. Such as- Clings on to you, makes others feel inferior compared to you, uses "study sessions" as a way to hang out more, etc. Knowing this, you aren't afraid to use it and manipulate him, of course, he won't notice because how could you do such a thing? In his eyes, it's practically impossible, he's smarter so he would think he'd catch on quick. (He doesn't know you are fairly intelligent yourself...)

And oh boy do you really use that potential once he gets the book. When you find out, you act all shocked, and at first try to tell him he's wrong for killing people and that it's no better. This leaves him a way to think he can control you, he isn't afraid to change your beliefs to fit into his wants. So you act as if you gave in, praising him for removing the evil in the world, feeding into his ego. In fact, you convince him to kill certain people, people who wronged you? People who you just don't simply like? They'd be gone with a brutal death, after all, wouldn't it make them a bad person to hurt someone so innocent?

I want to add more but due to the fact I'm debating whether or not to write this as a one-shot or a series and whether not to include L in the shipping (because why not?) I don't want to reveal anything if it were to become a series. I also don't know if this fandom is dead on tumblr... So uh, if y'all want it comment to let me know your thoughts! expanding a bit on my last post about Hollow Knight and how it uses gender in the story and it's just sooo scrumptious how femininity is used in relation to Hornet.

It's a vital part in her story- she is separated from her siblings solely by virtue of simply having a gender. and being a 'girl', femininity is her way of expressing that strong connection to gender- in HK we don't get a name for her clothing but it is very clearly based off a skirt/dress, it is PINK, and her weapon is literally a needle and thread; a clear reference to sewing, which was historically women's work, and I would argue the act of sitting down and sewing has a bit of a cottagecore, leisurely, soft and feminine connection today.

so her being a lethal and proud warrior who uses that needle and thread in deadly fashion is already an interesting subversion, but silksong is clearly taking it further.

Her 'dress' is now labelled as a 'hunter's cloak', and it's not really the pinkish purple colour it was- it's a bright bloody red. ignoring the practical/gameplay reasons for the change, it's such a fun way to show her 'awakening'- she is the daughter of Herrah, too long she has slept, watching over her father's dying kingdom! She is reclaiming her spider viciousness, and even the colour of her garb is bright and lively (and again- it's bloody).
