Dear Anna (my constant, the one I turn to when life gets heavy, when joy overflows, when I need to make sense of it all.)

I always end up prioritizing these people. What is it that I'm still not learning? Maybe I already know. Maybe I'm just walking there slowly. Little steps. This time I didn't put her on a pedestal. I watched. I observed. I gave it space. Still, I let her in too deep. Gave parts of myself I should've kept close. My heart feels heavy. Because I really had love for her. I wanted to build something solid. And now I just feel... tired, maybe heartbroken ? Just worn the fuck out. But you'd be proud, Anna. This time, I communicated. Clearly. Cleanly. Without shrinking myself into something digestible. And I'm proud of me too. Relieved, maybe? That I didn't abandon myself this time. That's something. That's a start.

thinking about the trope horror of assistants in the Daycare just straight up failing or quitting over and over and over again is as funny as it is tragic to me.

of course if you're waltzing on in there, rearranging the furniture and scolding the Robot who Literally Lives There it would cause problems. change is inevitable and always looming but would it not just get tiresome acclimatizing people to this role, just for them to quit anyway.

i got an email today from my uni that was sent to all students from the faculty i'm in and it's a job offer for a project from the uni's school museum where they catalogue and analyze old school note/exercise books from 1820-1950s and...idk i should probably apply right??? They're not even asking for a CV (mine would be empty), how often do you get that lmao. And it's only 6 hours a week, starting this October and the project is supposed to last 3 months and there is a possibilty of the museum hiring you for longer. And i mean, if it sucks i guess i can push through the 3 months? should i do it ahhhh my panic brain is screaming but it's not often that there is a job offer that is that nice

#i have to take a pic in which i dont look like a huge idiot for the application and tell them why i want the job which is doable i guess #i mean the photo part will be difficult lol #it could very well be that i wont get the job anyway although it fits my studies very well so that might be a bonus point in their eyes #i'm just so nervous i never had a job if you dont count the two trial days in a restaurant & a drug store where i was constantly on the #edge of a complete panic #but I SHOULD DO THIS RIGHT????? sooooo many people in the notes of that last reblog like "uhhhh no actually I still hate kids and it has nothing to do with any of this i just do" um. that's not normal?

i'm not saying everyone has to enjoy being around children, like indifference towards them is one thing. but if you genuinely have hateful feelings towards kids that aren't tied to something like trauma, or for the more foundational reasons the post points out, that's fucked up. having sweeping prejudice towards any segment of society is fucked up and you need to address that. replace kids with literally any category of people, women, old people, brown people, tall people, etc etc does that sound....... not fucked up to you?

i do think most of the people in the notes just don't realize their feelings *are* tied to one of the bullet points but for the few who are maybe serious, i really hope they realize it's fucking weird at best and dangerous at worst to just seethe with hatred for small people who didn't ask to be born y'know?

#and again this is not talking about feelings that stem from childhood traumas bc there were a lot of people expressing that in the notes too #just the edge lords who want it to be known they hate kids for no good reason #probably all of which will never see this post but i just had to rant a little #streams of consciousness

cw: unbeta'd rambling once more, all mistakes are mine. vague references to true crime content, nothing graphic. just thinking of what would discomfort the charas, im basically throwing darts 🥴

i hc'd that kalim doesnt really get scared by ghosts and urban legends and to add onto that: i think kalim would be icked out by people with an interest in true crime.

like, the content hits uncomfortably close to his own encounters and some people frankly take a bit too much pleasure in going through all the gory details - wait, you're telling him there are people who fall asleep while listening to true crime podcasts?! on that note, some psychological thrillers (especially the 'adapted from true events' kind, compared to the 'dystopic social commentary' ones) would also fit into this category - just being plain uncomfortable to sit through, a movie/podcast/tv experience making him sick to his stomach.

i just think that kalim doesn't get the appeal at all, no matter the explanation. if someone tried to show him a few cases, he'd just be sitting in uncomfy silence.

(on the flipside, i think jamil hates horror movies with an abundance of jumpscares compared to slashers. he has an uncanny sense foretelling when they're gonna happen, but he still flinches during the actual jumpscare. bonus points if a fakeout is good, u get to see his soul jump out of his body twice.

on the topic of true crime, jamil just doesn't vibe with it, especially when it's not well-researched and/or poorly handled in its delivery. and like, he's already gotten the fearmongering-type of warnings* from the adults in his life plenty of times. he doesn't want to see it packaged in a spooky, edgy, internet detective-way, but he's more rational? understanding? of its appeal to others.)
