Palamedes - steals Cams so often she bought him his own. Loves an amber but leans more woody and musky, unisex king. I think he is intrigued by niche brands and interesting scents but he doesn't buy them. Does have Cam stop to smell samplers with him at Necrophora though. Dulcinea - FLORAL. She loves a white floral, but there’s definitely an underlying note. Powdery but sharp and metallic almost. Usually goes for a rose or iris, also smells kinda old lady. She and Abigail have similar tastes with florals, but she leans more powdery and fruity where Abigail leans more vanilla and musk. Dulcie also gets some from my personal collection. i agree completely. when people look at hellraiser and queerness these days they tend to see their own biases, including internalized ones. the social understanding of cenobites is more movie #3 and onwards (demons) rather then the og text and movie #1 (demons to some, angles to others, beings beyond our understanding who follow rules we can not fully comprehend). the cenobites in their original form were more forces of nature then anything evil. they weren't intended to be the villains, frank and more so julia were the villains. the cenobites are gravity, frank and julia are the ones pushing folks off of cliffs.
i also like your point about letting freaks be freaks and feel there is nothing to add, you are right.
something else i appreciate about clive barkers works is how the insane are never shown to be scary, rather they are the victims of a broken system and the evil that infects that system. this is particularly apparent in nightbreeds, where the main character and his allies are deemed mentally unstable, but its his doctor, who he should be able to trust, who is the real villain. these themes are also there in hellraiser #2, if personally less well implemented (still pretty dang on the nose tho :p)
i just kinda dump a whole bunch of stream of consciousness on you, but the main point is i agree with you and i hope that knowing your not the only one thinking this helps you feel better <3
ive seen hellraiser criticisms that are like "clive barkers depictions of queer characters are hard to distinguish from right wing ideologies" but like he released nightbreed and i never see anything for it and that was a pretty fuckn explicit allegory for gay bars being raided and just being queer in general (lori and boone r literally t4t)
the cenobites had to be invited uncle frank asked for infinite pleasures and you cant have pleasures without pain. i think freaks can be freaks with fellow freaks the issue was frank being a horrible person. cenobites just made him more theatrical. i think people just see monsters as this infectious plauge that need to be eliminated or maybe normalized is the better word but you cant ignore how they were treated. they have always been there they always will be there and we have to work with the monsters terms

i know i watch too much horror and old shit so my perspective is skewed but when people now see old gay stuff like hellraiser or rocky horror it is uncomfortable and they mix that with homophobia bc it fits their perspective. and queer people can be homophobic but i dont think thats happening here. idk idk just thinking thoughts. i didnt even read the article review or whatever but its stuck in my mind for a while.

Masculinity Concepts in FFXVI
***Spoilers for Final Fantasy 16***
I wanted to focus on the concept of masculinity in Final Fantasy XVI.
I really love how we see different aspects of masculinity portrayed in the characters. I won't go over every male character in the game but I'll mostly focus on the Dominants along with some side characters.
*Clive - I have a whole character analysis post dedicated to him but to highlight a couple points - he has many wonderful qualities that make him very admirable not just as a man but as a person. Despite his handsome looks that we all know and love, he has a surprising softness inside him and wears his emotions on his sleeve at times especially when it comes to Jill. We see moments when he bares his soul and weeps out of sorrow or joy which makes him more masculine, in my opinion, not less.
*Joshua - His masculinity is incredibly refreshing as it is the complete opposite of toxic masculinity. His face has soft and almost feminine-like features. He may have spent his young life being physically frail but he demonstrates a fiery strong spirit. He has this honest chivalry to him yet views everyone as equals and has a gift for poetic words as a result his study of books. He is merciful and incredibly kind but is unafraid to demonstrate his prowess on the battlefield like his older brother.
*Cid - Now this guy is your classic smokin' cowboy archetype but with MUCH better attitude. He oozes masculine charm, wit, and charisma but he uses it for the betterment of society and to persuade others to join his revolutionary cause. But his motives are candid and straightforward. I love how he didn't exist just to flirt, be eye candy, or simply be the comic relief. He becomes the mentor whose legacy lives on through Clive and bonds the hideaway folks into a real family.
*Dion - He IS the reason why Sanbreque was able to tip the scales to its favor - because he is the powerful Dominant of Bahamut. He is the prince but he climbed the ranks and earned the respect of his elite dragoons. He exudes military spirit and possesses a flair for political language as a future leader yet has a sense of honor and duty to his people. And along with that I can bring up Terence who is also a military man and climbed the ranks to be by Dion's side. Their love for each other is tender and beautiful and perceived as just another aspect of themselves.
*Kupka - Now this guy is your typical gym bro and is quite the buffoon (I cracked up when Sleipnir says something like "seems Hugo's head was filled with rocks afterall.) He gives the strong impression that he does not respect women (ahem, that servant he kicked) with the exception of Benedikta who could care less about him. Kupka is your stereotypical toxic masculine type.
*Barnabas - Another villain who uses his masculine aura to dominate and overpower. Even when it came to the intimate scene with Benedikta, he certainly gives the impression that carnal pleasure is just a means to an end. Benedikta knew immediately that he'd throw her away as soon as she lost her use to him. Also... I mean...the dude carries a huge sword like he's trying to make a statement LOL!
In terms of side characters, we see that even the hardened Blackthorne is encouraged to open up his feelings which (through many side quests) he is eventfully able to do and make peace with his past. We see the rugged Otto and his eyes brimming with tears when speaking about the late Cid or about the Bearer son he lost. We see Goetz as the gentle giant who is working on his own self-confidence. We also see Gav who gets emotional after a few kegs of ale and cares deeply about Edda and her baby. And even Uncle Byron who shows his sense of power through his financial generosity but loves to put on a good show (he would be quite the actor in Shakespeare theater!)
There are many male characters that I missed but I wanted to focus on a handful of characters. We're so used to seeing the typical battle-hardened and gruff heroes that eventually claim victory over their enemies and get the girl. It's nice to have a story where you have men with different pasts and drives that pull them forward to their futures.
I will also (hopefully soon) write about the female characters as well! :)

- mean girls reference on october 3rd!
- i really wish they had talked about why sam and alice broke up and how they both navigated it, its a fluff ep so it would likely be too heavy for the occasion but im just so curious. especially bc sam seems to find it hard to shit talk his exes and alice apparently does it often w colin (though she was very defensive of amy and ignatious and why she was with them, so maybe not?)
- on a similar vein, ide LOVE to know why colin has a second marriage and divorce (also, queer colin! rad!)
- cant believe colin's (first) ex husband was a crypto bro working for overhead industries and he was having an affair with clive schill. how insane for him
- this episode gave me short term memory loss and i cams out of it thinking 'wow i cant wait to hear from colin in s2 :)' before i Remembered
- on that note, alexs' incredibly smug voice as he read the credits was appropriate for the content, and i could practically see his shit eating grin through sheer telepathy

Earlier a friend of mine ( @lylaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ) and I were discussing analog horror, and ways to do versions of it based on existing media well without feeling like we are making "beloved character but they are evil" and I wanted to share a couple ideas we had
The first was based on Doctor Who, because I'm me. I think there's actually a lot of potential in a Doctor Who one, obviously there is plenty of potential in Cybermen (and I've actually seen a few do that, though none I've seen have quite lived up to that potential for me). But I want to go beyond that, imagine a character who begins looking into the Doctor (similar to Clive in Rose, or LINDA) and they begin putting out their findings in the analog horror format, because from an outsiders perspective the Doctor could be considered terrifying, this being, always accompanied by a blue box who appears throughout human history, in various places, various faces, but always that box is there, and always that name, "The Doctor" and sometimes this "Doctor" whatever it is, it takes people. Takes them away from their homes, their families, and whatever it does to them in that box they always come back changed in some way. Eventually this POV begins to be tracked by various organizations, Torchwood, UNIT. They have to go into hiding, perhaps they even begin to see the box in various places they go, and disaster always follows until finally they meet it. This creature they so fear, this terrifying entity they have been watching. It reaches a hand towards them and says
"Hello, I'm the Doctor"
With a big smile on their face, and all tension is immediately dropped, because the Doctor isn't a monster or an evil being, they're the Doctor, they offer a Jelly Baby to the POV, get UNIT off their back, and let them go on their merry way.
I just think that would be fun, after all, from the right perspective the Doctor can be terrifying, until you meet them.
The other one we thought of was a Batman one. Imagine a criminal, committing some small act of burglary. But something goes wrong, their friends begin disappearing, one by one, the lights go out and eventually they are the only one left. Finally they see it, this outline, this shadow. With the only thing truly visible being its piercing white eyes, and then it gets them. But then I want the POV to switch (I know what comes next is similar to the Doctor Who one, but please bear with me, the ending makes all the difference). To a bystander in Gotham, someone who lives in fear, fear of the corruption, fear of these terrifying monstrous criminals, and fear of The Bat. This strange mythical creature, which hides in the shadows and preys in the night. Sometimes you hear screams in the night, and you know it has claimed another victim.
Throughout this one we would also see videos compiled as this person looks into the Bat and Gotham's other terrors. Someone caught in one of Riddlers death traps, forced to answer his Riddle correctly or suffer a terrible fate. Someone exploring a run-down fun house, before reaching the end and discovering a man, with terrible pale skin and bright green hair, surrounded by bodies, their faces contorted into terrible smiles, blood running from their mouths like a terrible lipstick. Someone being stalked by various people, so many different faces, different appearances, different heights, but always wearing the same clothes, and always watching them, until finally there is a knock on the door, and they see themselves on the other side, dressed in the clothes of their stalker. There's plenty more that could be done, obviously something can be done with Scarecrow, Poison Ivy could be an interesting one, Grundy could be fun, I'm imagining something can be done with Mr. Freeze, etc.
But in the end the person is still most terrified of, and most interested in The Bat. What is the Bat, is it a man or is it some form of cryptid, are those ears or a mask, is that a cape or wings, are those claws or gloves. Eventually our protagonist is walking down an alley on their way home, when suddenly they are jumped by some criminals. They have no hope of escape. Until suddenly a dark figure descends from the sky, it attacks the criminals, breaking bones, perhaps leaving scratch marks. Until finally it's over, and The Bat begins to approach our protagonist. They begin to scramble away in fear, believing The Bat was here to attack them, here to take them away or kill them, whatever it does to its victims. But it doesn't. It extends a hand towards them and helps them to their feet, before disappearing into the shadows, never to be heard from again.
Was it a cryptid, or was it a man? In the end it doesn't matter, whatever it is it is trying to help, to protect this broken city. Perhaps it can't stop everything, but it is doing what it can, this Bat-Man.
(I also want to make it clear I want it to genuinely be ambiguous whether the Batman of this universe is the one we know, or some form of creature, created by Bruce Wayne's grief and need for revenge after the death of his parents, I don't want there to be an answer, because it simply doesn't matter)
Writing them out back to back made me realize that they are similar stories, but I honestly think the endings do make a difference, while they both ended up providing comfort instead of fear the Doctor was simply... Themself, a madman with a box, and that reveal truly kills all tension. But Batman didn't, the ending was still hopeful, but in a way that to me feels like it makes all the difference, and I don't think I can truly explain.
But those are my ideas, I hope people like them, I doubt I'll ever make them a reality, but it still felt nice to share

Late enough to know about them (him) and have this lovely little secret but early enough where the chances of survival without Marie keeping them alive was 0.
I honestly don’t know what would happen. Like, if Marie was far enough along to know herself, that probably means Virginia could pick it up on autopsy. (Granted, she could’ve known pretty soon if she was regular and then Virginia actually wouldn’t have been able to pick it up if she didn’t know to look). But the question is, do you think Clive would instruct her to keep that part of the autopsy true? To basically run Marie’s name through the dirt even more and discredit her and George? Y’know “look how irresponsible she was”. Or so you think he’d try to hide that fact as it would look worse on Teddy than he got a pregnant person killed?
I like the idea of that being one of the reveals in the basement though. And Forrest giving George condolences on the lost baby in the final confrontation.
But like gah damn that’s a heavy hitter of an au
Can also see at the end of it all a little mini headstone or even just a little stone or rock getting put next to Marie’s grave to mark that she lost her pregnancy too.

Season 5 reaction
5x01 and Buck and Eddie are already acting like a married couple lmao. But i can understand where the panic attack Eddie had came from. Buck is now just like a concerned husband
5x02 and Clipboard Buck! I love Clipboard Buck! And naturally the way to Buck’s heart is through the kids in his life. He is so precious. And he immediately picked up on Eddie’s panic when Ravi assumed Ana was Eddie’s wife. And then in the firetruck when Buck is talking about the zoo we learn that Buck takes Chris there all the time. Buck is Chris’ dad, and no one can tell me otherwise lol. And Eddie looks so proud. And Bobby is such a dad. Love him. And him and Athena are so cute together
Also, Eddie breaking up with Ana? That scene was also done well. And Eddie acknowledged that he was stringing her along, which is great. Terrible that he did it, but great that he admitted to it
And i just wanna point out that Kenny is such an amazing actor. The emotion he conveys during this whole arc of Maddie leaving is just… whew. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Also, i should have known that Buck knew. I do get Chim’s frustration. The punch shocked me ngl. But, i can see why he did it. I dont think punching was the answer, but like i said. I see why it happened. And naturally Eddie is the one he calls for help the next day. They are husbands your honor
5x05. I LOVE RAVI. “Probie, if you’re gonna vomit do it somewhere else.” “Copy!” *Scurries off.* I love him lmao
And Buck’s panic in 5x06 when he hears the gun shot. He immediately feared that Eddie had been shot again and ran out as fast as he could. And Bobby getting breakfast with Ravi 😭. I love Dad Bobby moments. And speaking of dads, Eddie and Chris 🥹. He loves his kid so much and my heart cant handle it
And Michael wanting to propose to David in 5x08!! The whole montage of the rings and outfits is so funny and i love them so much. And im so happy David said yes!!
The scene in 5x09 where May walks into Bobby and Athena is also fucking hilarious. And Bobby’s little shuffle to the bedroom is just so quirky. And then when he goes “why does this keep happening to you?” Then interrupts Buck and says “No. I’m gonna tell you why.” Bobby is Buck’s dad and i love him so much for it
And later Buck called Eddie out for watching telenovelas and it was so domestic. And Eddie was eating up the drama between Clive and Toni. He just loves it lol. And the episode made me dislike Taylor less. But i really feel like Buck said The Words just cos she did. I dont feel like they were genuine. That might just be me tho
Then in 5x10, Eddie is decorating with Chris and he is just doing as Chris says cos he wants him to be happy and im just melting. This man loves his kid so much and it just makes me so happy. Then Hen’s “baby’s first Christmas” comment to Buck made me chuckle, then I got distracted by the Appa plushie that someone handed Bobby. I love my flying bison sm. And Taylor asked Bobby if Buck would like the sweaters! Everyone knows that Bobby is Buck’s dad! And later Eddie is talking to Buck about Chris’ nightmare. Husbands. They both love their kid so much
Eddie looks so miserable at the beginning of 5x11 ☹️. Baby boy just wants to be fighting fires with his boyfriend. But dinner with Eddie, Chris, Buck, and Taylor kinda surprised me honestly. But ig it makes sense. “You dont need to pretend with me.” Ok. Imma cry now. Thats so sweet wtf. But he misses the 118 and feels left out and i feel for him. Also, drunk Buck is so funny lmao. And Hen is like another sister.
I can understand that Eddie is frustrated that Bobby isn’t letting him back into the 118 yet, but bringing up Bobby’s past like that was totally uncalled for
Im glad that Buck finally told Taylor about the kiss in 5x13, but i didnt even think about how he was kinda trapping her so she couldnt leave, which is. Not great. But i guess they are wanting to work through it so thats good. But the ending with Eddie’s breakdown made me wanna cry. He is going through so much and he wants to get better but he keeps hitting rough patches. But having Buck there to support him and Chris is so sweet and i love that Buck is willing to have those hard convos with Eddie.
And the breakfast scene in 5x14 with Chris and Eddie? These two have a special place in my heart and i cannot handle it lmao. And of course i type that only for it to be a nightmare 😭. But father figure Bobby also has my heart. And the scene with the heart drawings. So domestic
And Karen in 5x15 is so cute. “To catch a thief!” I love her lmao. And Eddie is learning from therapy! Im so proud of him! And Buck was giving total puppy energy during the wedding call. I love him so much.
And in 5x16 Bobby called May his kid!! Excuse me while i cry. And the Eddie/Linda friendship is just so, idk, refreshing? Idk if that is a good word for it but i really like the idea of him being friends with everyone at dispatch. My boy needs to get out there lol. Josh is also such a flustered homosexual and like. Me too. And Eddie was so ready to be back in firefighter mode. Buck being completely clueless about what to not say to a patient then Eddie just. Shaking his head. And May calls Bobby her dad 😭😭😭
5x17: Buck messing with Chris’ dinosaur while Eddie is packing, man there is just something so domestic about it. And the Chim and Hen friendship is so funny i love it so much. And i just really dislike Taylor. Also i know that we call Buck the golden retriever, but Eddie looked like such a kicked puppy when we was talking to his dad. But im glad they had a conversation and they want to do better
5x18: Im glad to see Eddie acknowledging how bottling things up isnt good, even if its in his joking manner. “I dont have your bone structure. I could never pull it off.” Bro im DEAD. Thats so funny to me. And my boy Ravi. Talking about having a partner is about knowing that they will have your back. Buck, takes notes. Cos who’s back did you promise to have? Hmm?? Then Buck talks about partners being at their lowest together and still working together and growing together. If that isnt foreshadowing idk what is. And Eddie is back at the 118!! Obviously i knew it was gonna happen but im still happy
And thats that for season 5! I dont really have any other additional thoughts, just that with things that happened in season 7, it just feels like there was some foreshadowing for Buddie. But i think we all know that

"So, work is just cancelled? Since when does Clive do that?" Jill asked aloud, her gear already halfway on. She already had her lavender purple coat on, her white snow pants and her fuzzy boots, she was prepared to go work, despite the inches of snow. Inches of the white icy snow coated the ground. It looked beautiful but it was dangerous to work in ; According to Clive, that is. But Jill and Chris were still willing to work in those conditions.
Chris took another glance down at his phone, rereading the email from Clive.
"To those whom work for the BSAA: Do NOT come into work today. The roads are too icy, the snow is too thick and it's way to cold to work in. Enjoy the free day off. Tomorrow should be better."
Thank you. - Director, Clive O'brian.
"Guess so." Chris sighed deeply, his winter attire on as well. He was wearing a thick black coat, cargo pants and his brown fabricated boots. He was also prepared for the day. So much for working.
"Well, this is stupid." Jill scoffed, standing up and throwing her hands in the air. She was an ambitious woman, always wanting to be hard at work. It wasn't easy for her to be lazy or something. Chris chuckled at her, loving how angry she gets over the littlest of things. Jill glared at Chris, crossing her arms. "Now what is so funny?" "You." "Me?" "Yeah, you're very cute when you're upset." Chris bit his lip. "Clamp it." Jill rolled her eyes, but she did love how he admired her.
"Why does it matter so much that we have the day off? Isn't that a good thing baby?" "It's not a bad thing nor a good thing, I like working but at the same time, I do get to stay home all day, alone, with you." Jill giggled, uncrossing her arms now. "That's a plus." Chris nodded, stepping closer to her. "It is." Jill bit her lip as she slid her hands around his neck, her arms resting on his jacked shoulders.
Jill's always loved Chris's body. As a little girl, she wanted a larger man to be the one she is with. It's just extremely attractive to her, the fibrow build. Same goes for Chris. Jill's slender frame is a masterpiece to him. Of course, it all comes with the work they've put in to achieve these bodies and they both respect how hard the other has worked to gain it. Although, they both wish they could indulge in junk food constantly instead of primarily eating healthier.
Chris's hands went to Jill's lower back, even though she couldn't really feel through her puffy coat.
"You know, even though you're all covered up, you still look hot." Chris snorted, squeezing her waist. Tossing her head back slightly, Jill laughed. She enjoys how he speaks to her. How after the few years they've been together, he's still just as obsessive over her. Vice versa too. "Why thank you, I could say the same about you." She beamed at him before puckering her lips steadily, wanting a kiss from her fiancee.
A merry look appeared on Chris's face before he leaned in to kiss her, his soft lips moving against hers. The kiss was left simple and sweet. It was still early in the morning, there was no way it'd be too passionate. Mid kiss, Chris pressed his forehead against her's, moving his right hand from her back and to her delicate cheek, caressing it as his lips encased her lower lip between his. Jill's hands dug into his brunette hair, pulling him closer to her.
They both reveled in the kiss. They were so in love with each other. Their love is different. It was a slow burn type of love. Within time, they discovered their love for one another and it blossomed immensely. Chris thirsted for Jill for so long before he finally got her. For him, it was love at first sight. Seeing her walk into that office made him freeze in shock. She was gorgeous. She claims she felt the same but Chris thinks otherwise.
Removing her lips from his, Jill kept her forehead against his, breathing out softly. "You are so beautiful." Chris boasted about her looks. Chris will always view Jill as the most perfect woman in the world. "Thanks." Jill chuckled, embracing him, her arms encasing around his neck, she loves giving him hugs. "Oh baby." Chris snickered, hugging her back, placing one hand on the back of her head, feeling her nice hair.
As they snuggled, Chris took a look outside, noticing it was beginning to snow again. Maybe it was for the best that they didn't have to work today. There was already a good three inches of snow and icy roads, it wasn't the best to be out in. And his watch said it was under 50⁰ which at face value isn't bad but being out there for to long would be miserable. Today would be great, just the two of them at home.
Squeezing him tightly before letting go, Jill pecked his cheek. "Do you want me to make us some breakfast? I'm not all that hungry but if you are," Jill looked back up, seeing Chris gazing outside the window. "Pretty, huh?" "Very." Chris replied, turning his head back to face Jill. "I remember growing up at the orphanage, me and Claire would have snow ball fights or make igloos with the other kid's." Chris cackled, intertwining his fingers.
"Oh yeah? I bet that was a lot of fun." Jill listened to him carefully. "It was. I miss it." "Do you now?" "Yeah, I remember having the time of my life." Chris chuckled, sitting down at the island counter, Jill on the opposite side of it. "I didn't play too much as a child, I was always doing something, never had much time too." "I know sweetheart, I am sorry." Chris understood, he felt bad she didn't get to experience a lot of iconic childhood doings.
"That's alright," Jill pulled out a blender. "I'll live." She set it on the counter, plugging it in. "Going to make smoothies?" "Sure am, what do you want in yours?" Jill wanted to know so she could make his first. She always makes sure he's eating/drinking before she is. "Well, baby, before you do that, may I ask you something?" Chris implored, standing up again despite only having just sat down. "Go on." Jill closed the fridge, her hands on her hips.
"Wanna go play outside with me?" A mischievous smirk formed on his handsome face. Jill's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. What did he mean exactly? "You wanna fuck outside?" She said confidently, fully believing that's what he meant. Chris snorted, "That is just... Not what I meant babe." "Oh." Jill covered her face in embarrassment. She wasn't actually embarrassed, morely just puzzled.
"I meant, let's go play outside in the snow...?" Chris posed the idea, going closer to her. The idea was enticing. A thrilled look overcame her face. "Actually? What is there to do?" "Just have fun, y'know?" Chris's lips creased as he observed her. "I mean, okay, sure." Jill smiled, stepping beside him. "Alrighty, c'mon honey." Chris laughed, not really knowing what else to say.
Ambling outside, the snowfall was light, unlike the past night. Although the ground had it rough. Pounds of snow coated it. Their boots were covered by it even. "My eyes hurt." Jill giggled, squinting her eyes, her lips curling. "Yeah, the white ass snow will do that to ya." Chris's hand slithered down to her back, holding her close. "Heheh, and there's so much." She crouched down, running her hand through the polar snow, the visible snowflakes surprised Jill.
"So pretty." Jill hummed out, picking up more of the snow. "Just like you." Chris cooed to his fiancee. "Awe, honey, you're so sweet." Her tone was low. Chris was a bit subsided by it but it was whatever.
Well, that was until she suddenly stood up and whipped a snowball at him. The ball exploded against his chest, the snow departing and falling back onto the ground. They both just stood there, Jill looking at his chest and Chris looking at her devious face. She was so naughty. "Oh wow." Chris huffed out, his hands now at his sides. Jill let out a small laugh before she ran off. Chris instantly kneeled down, getting a scoop of snow into his hands and forming it into a ball.
"You put this on yourself!" He laughed out, watching as she tried to hide behind a tree in their yard but failed as he hit her smack dab in the arm. "Ah!" Jill yelled out, packing more snow together and hitting Chris in the stomach. "How are you so good at this?" Chris leaned down, grabbing more snow but being hit again. "Jesus baby!" Chris snickered, throwing another ball at her but he missed. Jill was clearly better at this.
"Haha, this is so fun!" Jill grabbed more snow and turned around to hit him but she didn't know where he went. "Baby!" She cackled out, coming out from behind the massive tree. He was no where to be found. "Honey! Stop it!" Jill held the snowball close to her, watching for any sudden movements. Nothing.
"Gotcha." Chris threw one right at the back of her head, causing Jill to let out a breathless scoff. "You little asshole." She tossed one back at him but he took it like a champ. "You are so cute." "Shut up." She gandered down, walking up to him and setting her hands on his upper arms. "What're you doing?" He questioned her. Jill's hands dragged from his shoulders to his hands, taking them in hers. "Sit with me." She stated, pulling him down with her.
Hearing her out, he got down along with her, sitting in front of her. Their butts fit neatly into the snow, forming an indent. "Now why did we do this?" "I dunno, I just wanted to see how it felt." Jill admitted, digging her fingers into the snow. "I see." Chris nodded, now also digging his fingers into the snow, the frostiness was still able to be felt, even through his gloves. "I love you." Jill said softly, not even looking at him but rather at the glistening white flakes. "I love you sweetie." Chris responded, his heart warm from her words.
Being together for a long time doesn't take away from that great feeling of love.
Jill layed all the way back, her entire body covered in the snow now. "Oh?" Chris composed as he then did the same, the feeling of the cold snow on his neck made him shiver. "It's freezing!" Jill laughed, looking up at the light tinted blue sky. "Then why did you lay down!?" Chris snickered alongside with her. "Snow angel." She said blatantly as she began to make one.
Moving her arms and legs out, then back in, at the same time made the angel. She only had to do it a couple times. "Make one with me!" "Oh I am." Chris grunted as he began to do the same, his arms and legs swiping the snow back and forth.
Jill stopped her movements, just lying there before muttering out, "Now how do we stand up without ruining them?" "Carefully and with ease." Chris lifted himself up at an unrushed pace, showing Jill how it's done. "Hmm." She murmured, following his steps.
Chris got out of the angel, it showing off clear as day. He held his hand out for her to grab, making it a lot easier for her. As she grabbed ahold of her fiancee's hand, she hopped out of the imprint like a bunny and just gazed at it. "We are both angels." "That we are." Chris blew out, his hand still locked with hers. "Was that your first time making one?" "No, but it's my first in a very long time." Jill replied, her eyes still locked on the snow.
Chris pecked the top of her head, breathing in deeply as he did. She smelt amazing.
They both sat back down again, this time sitting beside each other. Their view was beautiful. All the pine trees surrounding the yard had snow toppled on them, occasionally falling off and adding onto the snow on the ground. The sky was bright, the limited sunlight glowing upon the ground, the snow glimmering beneath it, causing snowflakes to be more visible. The air was crisp, particles were also flowing in the air. The temperature was low but with the sunshine out, maybe it'll heat up.
Scooching closer beside him, Jill rested her head on Chris's shoulder, the two of them taking in the lovely view. They were quiet, but that was okay. They just enjoyed the serene sight with one another. Chris loved the feeling of her on his shoulder, he hopes she knows that no matter how close she is, she's safe with him. He will always protect her above all else. He also hopes she knows he adores moments like these.
They are more than special. They are going to be cherished til he's gray and old.
Suddenly, catching Chris off guard, Jill crawled into his lap, straddling him. "Woah, what the hell baby?" He laughed out, his hands immediately going to her hips. "I dunno, just felt like it." She snickered. She felt a bit heavier considering all the gear she had on but Chris could manage, he'd hold her even if she had an anchor attached to her. "Mm, okay." Chris cupped her cheek in one hand before pressing his lips to hers.
Jill swathed her arms around his neck, her hand going to the back of his head, pulling him closer to her in the kiss. "Mmph, I love you." Jill muttered between kisses, her fingers playing with his hair through her gloves, they were thin so it actually feels like it's her bare fingers. "I love you so much." Chris replied, both of his arms encased around her slim back, wanting her as close as possible.
He pulled away from the kiss and simply gave her a loving look. His index finger and thumb held onto her chin, his thumb stroking over her lower lip. "You're beautiful." He complimented his soon-to-be wife. He couldn't wait to marry her. "You're so handsome." Jill gave him a goofy smile, clearly a bit flustered by his sudden appraisal.
Chris then put himself on top of Jill, pinning her beneath him. Jill could feel the iciness of the snow, it was so cold. "Baby!" Jill tittered, her arms above her head. "Hey there." "Hi." Jill gave him a look of affection, her eyes on his. "Kiss me." Chris sighed out breathlessly, wanting her lips on his again. Jill bit her lip and drew herself upwards, her lips meeting his once again. Chris pushed her head back down as he kissed her harder now, his eyes closed as he reveled in it.
"This was fun." "Mhm." Chris uttered, nuzzling his nose against hers. Her nose scrunched up when he did that. "You're my world." "You're mine." Jill spoke with a softened voice.
They both layed there momentarily until Chris got off of her, scraping the snow off of his body then helping her up. "Thank you sweetie." Jill wiped the immense amount of snow off of her too, it was all over her. "I'm freezing." Jill giggled, grabbing onto Chris's coat. "I bet... How about we head inside and fix ourselves some breakfast, hm?" That sounded amazing. "Yes please." She held onto his hand as they both them headed inside.
Playing outside with Jill was so much fun.
Chris was happy.

Cletus Kasady | Carnage Imagine: Post-Symbiosis Edition

• the first thing you hear upon waking up has a familiar ring to it: “sweetheart,” a distant, disembodied voice welcomes you among the living;
• the first thing you see has a strange, sinister appearance; and, as you take in the sight of its white and hallow eyes, you pray to yourself that you’re still asleep, still dreaming, and still stuck in a nightmare
• and when those eyes open wide, the lids lifting and the red skin peeling, a second pair of eyes greet you; “mornin’, sweetheart,” the same familiar voice returns and so does yours;
• your voice is raw like you’ve been using it all night; you’ve been using it to scream, curse and invoke his name: “Cletus”
• “sleep well?” he looks down on you like he did in your dreams; and your nightmares; he watches your eyes adjust to the low light of the morning like you’re still back in NYC, in your apartment, above your butcher shop; he looks at you like you’re starting over, as lovers and as parents;
“Cain’s sick of the powdered milk,” he smiles down on you like he had any right to, like he was smiling down on his spouse after being woken up by his baby; the baby that was throwing a fit in his red arms; “it’s time for the real thing”
• “Cletus,” you beg him, the salty words barely escaping your sore throat; you also hardly move your sore body, the red tendrils wrapped around your wrists holding your hands against the headboard of the bed you lay in; “Cletus, please let me hold our son;”
• the first time you verbally acknowledge your son’s parentage, his father’s eyes are wide and wet; and you’d be tearing up yourself if you had any more tears to do so; you’d cry in shame, and also in relief; but you choke on air instead
• Cletus doesn’t cry either, even if his own tears threatening to spill out of his green, red-shot eyes; “oh, sweetheart,” he sniffs, watching you try to wrangle out of the restraints he seemingly manifested out of his very flesh and blood, out of his back, like a separate set of limbs than the red one cradling Clive; “you're still tired,” he follows these long limbs as they stretch and slither from your wrists down to your torso, and lifts you so that you’re standing with your back to the headboard;
• Cletus seemingly commands these tendrils to tenderly trace the line of your jaw and lift your chin up; “daddy’ll take it from here;” they are just as gentle as they pull down the neckline of your dress and bare both of your breasts; “you don’t have to move a muscle”
• he is the one still holding the baby as he sits next to you in bed, securing him against your chest with one red arm around your back and one around your front; "that's it," he says, blowing hot air on your cold shoulder; you ignore the chill, focusing on the familiar feeling of you son latching onto your nipple and kneading your tit; "that's my boy," even when Cletus rests his cheek against yours, you only have eyes for the one feeding on you
• however, you're not the only one captivated by the sight; “my baby boy,” Cletus blows more air against your skin, and the chills do overtake you this time, your eyes close for a moment; “it’s our baby boy, sweetheart,” you hear him say, gooseflesh spreading all over, and you let yourself fall back against him, fall back asleep and into your dream for just a moment;
• in that moment, in that dream, you are not leaning against a wanted man; no, you’re resting against the man you wanted to fall asleep next to every night;
• and, for a moment, you’re leaning against the man of your dreams; “you know, baby, daddy missed mommy very much,” he sighs, warming your skin and your heart; “did mommy miss daddy?”
• “Cletus,” you speak, struggling due to soreness and breathlessness; you had missed him; but he had always been there in your dreams, so how could you have missed him?
• when the moment ends, you wake up next to the wanted man; and this wanted man has killed your husband, the man you have actually been leaning on these past two years; and this wanted man is holding you in his literal red hands, stained with both blood and the sickness that Eddie Brock, another wanted man, had infected him with
• you open your eyes again only to see your son satisfied and closing his own eyes; even in those blood red hands, he is safe and satisfied; “Cletus,” you start up again, clearing your voice; “he needs to be burped;” you couldn’t move because Cletus and those red tendrils springing from his body wouldn’t let you; but even in this situation, you still made sure your baby was taken care of
• “you hear that, baby?” Cletus pulls away from you, pushing the dress back up your chest, and unwrapping his arms from around your torso; “you needa be burped,” he smiles down at his sleepy son; after wrapping both arms around him, he places his little chin on his big shoulder and smoothened a big red hand on his little back; “that’s how they did it in those mommy vlogs,” Cletus looks over at you, wearing a smile instead of his signature smirk; he is looking for reassurance
• before you could betray yourself and smile back, your son burps; the sound of it startles a snort out of you; and it is that sound that reassures and softens the face of the man with the big red sharp hands; “that’s my boy”
• once he left your side and stood up, you got a better look of the room; it isn’t your bedroom back in NYC, the one from your dreams; and it isn’t the one from the wooden cabin, the one from your nightmares; it was a master bedroom the likes of which you’ve only witnessed on reality TV shows; now this is your reality
• while your hands are wrapped to the headboard of the California king bed by the long, lanky red tendrils, you also notice that Clive’s - no, it was Cain now - baby bag is on the armchair Cletus was headed towards; and you can’t miss the brand new baby bed that another set of tendrils is dragging between the bed and the armchair
• “sweet dreams,” Cletus kisses the top of Cain’s head, sinking his nose in the red curls; and the sight of father and son embracing is almost enough for you to close your eyes and sink your own nose back into the pillows; almost;
• you can’t not feel like a stranger in this bedroom, in this house and even in your own reality; “Cletus, where are we?”
• “we’re safe, sweetheart,” he reassures you, trying to lull you back to sleep, back into that dream state; “you can rest easy,” he joins you in bed again, climbing onto the same side while his tendrils crawled across the sheets; as they tucked the both of you in, Cletus cups your chin with his own hand; “it’s been a long night”
• it has been a long night; it started when he snatched Cain, slashed Barry, and revealed his face under the red skin; it continued with you crawling on your knees and begging him to not let anyone else bleed; then, as he wrapped the skin he peeled off all around you in the shape of tendrils, the rest of your night was spent screaming from inside a crimson cacoon
• “you should try gettin’ some sleep,” he holds your face in place with his own fingers instead of a tendril; “we’ll be on the road again tonight”; he knows that skin-to-skin contact would chill you all over again; and, by the look in his eyes, it already had;
• “I’ll get that,” he insists, moving his hand closer to the neckline of your dress; “you don’t have to move a muscle;” following it with your eyes, you spotted the spillage that seeped through the dress
• “oh,” you gasp as he slips his fingers into the neckline of your dress; “they do that,” you excuse yourself, writing off the waves of pleasure as nothing but the sinking feeling of embarrassment; “they do that all the time,” you insist as he gingerly gathers the material of the dress under the lump of flesh; “are you letting it go to waste?” you hear yourself ask, on the edge of sanity and far away from reality
• and even Cletus, who was so sure of the effect he still had on you, is now surprised to hear you ask it if him; his eyes widen in shock before his pupils blow up with hunger; the skin-to-skin contact isn’t enough and all those tendrils he is holding you down with are now pulsing all around you like veins when the heart rate picks up; “so mommy did miss daddy, huh?”
• with a hand cupping your breast and a long tendril latching onto the areole, he massages more milk out of you; “I missed you,” it threw you off of the edge of sanity, and sunk you deeper into the dream; and it was now the reality Cletus Kasady had created for you, where your body and anything leaking and bleeding out of it was his for the taking; “I missed the taste of you, sweet thing”
• and when he does take what is his, latching his lips around your nipples and drinking you in, you stopped trying to suppress any sounds, and spoke them out: “I missed your mouth”
• while your head is thrown back against the headboard and up into the clouds, his hands are on your torso; and the tendrils tread new ground as they slither down your legs and up your dress skirt; and they felt more like tongues than snakes as they slid into your slit and against the nub of nerves
• and it doesn’t matter that it is a foreign body doing this; your own reacts to it in a familiar way; your hips move, your back arches and you urge them on; “you like that, huh?” Cletus popped your tit out of his mouth, leaving it shimmering with spit; “it likes you;”
• it is the second skin he was wearing, the one that stretched out and slithered all around you like snakes; it is that sickness he had been infected with; it was the red entity that has been haunting NYC; “it’s charmed to finally make your acquaintance,” as it continues to circle your clitoris, Cletus hides his face behind it again; “Name’s Carnage”
• and when you finally come undone, it is under Carnage’s white watchful eyes; and it is his tendrils and his touch that puts you back together, tying you to the bed and bonding you to him;
• he shushes you, pulling up your neckline and pushing down your skirt; “Cain’s sleeping,” he looked over to his bed, then back to you; “you should be sleeping, too,” he squeezes you closer in his red arms and red tendrils, shedding his red face to reveal Cletus’ white one that is now flushed pink; “we should all be sleeping”
• you feel like you’ve been sleeping this entire time, dreaming the entire thing; not even the strange red face ripped straight from a nightmare feels like it could startle you awake like it had earlier this morning; and you are happy to be reunited with it when you close your eyes and finally fall asleep in Carnage’s arms

Summary:
WHAT A PHENOMENAL GAME!!! Truly what a great “conclusion” to the main trilogy. You learn so much about Layton, Luke, flora, and many other characters like don paolo. The ending reveal of Clive was CRAZY. It really reminded me of movies like howls moving castle/the iron giant. I also just love how complex Clive is. He was driven to violence because of how the government treated him and his family, but he never truly wanted to hurt people. He was without any hope and thought mass destruction would finally bring some change to the government, but he also made sure to include Layton in his plans because he so desperately wanted someone to stop him. It’s tragic and terrorism definitely wasn’t the way to go but at least this is a fictional story and that death machine looked kinda sick Ngl. The story of Layton and Claire was also so tragic yet so healing. Layton could finally take off his hat without feeling grief, you never would’ve known he was hurting that much. I loved Claire, she seemed like such an amazing person and I’m glad Layton wasn’t swayed to try to bring her back, although he did falter when he had to say goodbye again. Although I highly enjoyed the game, I am slightly disappointed there was no actual evil Layton. How fun would a game with evil Layton be omg. The whole game constantly caught me by surprise, even by small scenes like Beasly and PUZZLETTE. I’m still a littel confused about the lab experiments with Gumbo and subject 3, I’m not quire sure why they added that plot (and have no resolution) but I liked Gumbo fine. My favorite coin animal will always be hot dog though. I cannot recommend this series enough, I am having the time of my life. I can also see how DGS was heavily inspired by these games and im so glad about it bc dgs was game changing. I can’t believe there was a 26 year wait in between UF and NWOS but im glad to be a Layton fan :’) so fucking glad!!!!

HUGE TWS AND SUBTLE HINTS: please, if you're sensitive or in a bad place mentally, DO NOT read.
(I wrote this while sobbing mb, I was also listening to "I don't smoke" by mitski- it portrays this moment perfectly).
Some puzzle pieces:
Clive was going to confess that day. The last day of school before graduation; Exactly a year apart from the promise you made to him. (Because I'm evil, and one day my ocs will torture me.)
He hadn't heard from you in months. You had blocked him, ignored every message until now. And God, the poor guy was excited. He had no idea what was waiting for him. (You have nothing to do with this dw).
He was waiting for you on the rooftop again. It was raining, not like that day- the sky only threatened a storm. The day of his death though? It was pouring. I wanted that to symbolize his declining mental health, how consuming unhealthy attachments are-
Clive didn't care about the downpour, he was waiting, past present and future he will always wait.
He kept checking his phone over and over, he was distracted. The sound of the rain drowned out everything else, he didn't hear the footsteps behind him. Not until his body lost all its strength.
When he finally managed to move again, he tried to call you but you wouldn't pick up. His hands shook so badly that he dropped his phone.
Now- In the flashbacks of memory lane we hear Silas mentioning leaking "pictures". We see him talking about how Clive gets to live a great life because his adoptive father had money while he had to "risk everything" just to get by. Did Silas get involved in anything illegal for money?
We see him with long hair and bangs, and then this sudden change out of nowhere, as if he's trying to look as masculine as possible. What could that signify?

Back to Clive:
Clive had heard everything, he lived through hell, yet the only thing that mattered to him was what they said about you, he'd kill them all before they'd dare to lay a finger on you.
He didn't have much time, he had to find you. He had to keep you safe.
You could yell, hit, call the police- do anything. But he needed to protect you. He couldn't let something like that happen.
He couldn't find his gear. He was still weak from whatever they had used on him. Driving wasn't a good option- let alone riding a motorcycle.
But he had no choice.
You were his beloved, his star, the only light in the endless void that had been eating him alive.
Clive was and still is a reckless driver. He was angry, hurt, crying, he was impulsive. At some point he thought about taking his own life.
But could he be that selfish in a moment like this?
Without realizing it, he found himself face to face with death.
The accident is so similar to "the last gear" animation. It terrified me how accurate it was to how I had imagined it.
And the worst part? He was conscious the whole time. I can't imagine the pain, the fear, the absolute horror that poor baby had to go through. (Girl you created him...)
Begging for someone to spare him, to help him, anything.
To the point where, in his own desperation he called upon a forgotten god.
But the gods are dead.
We have killed them with our own cruelty.
Man tosses anything that doesn't favor him anymore yet crawls back to it in his most raw and vulnerable moments.
