MINGI has a list. it's a special list to him, one that speaks volumes about him.

speaks volumes about a step-by-step process on how to make him, song mingi, fall in love with someone.

now, this list is hidden in his notes app, and the physical copy of this is hidden in one of his math notebooks from high school. he is the only person to know about this list, other than his best friend, of course (only because yunho accidentally saw him writing it out instead of doing math homework with him).

yunho calls it 'a step-by-step guide to the princess treatment' but mingi likes to correct his friend, telling him that it's actually called 'the way to song mingi's heart.'

yunho likes to call it otherwise.

but what does that have to do with you? well, for starters, mingi met you through yunho. it was completely accidental. according to yunho, he was never going to introduce you because you're like a little sister to him and you might end up stealing mingi from him by being your lovable self. instead of that happening, you two had instantly clicked and the three of you became a little trio, one that somehow always managed to spend time with each other everyday.

how mingi and yunho managed to keep the list a secret from you, they have no idea (and yunho has no idea why mingi doesn’t want you knowing. the three of you tell each other everything to the point that it can be seen as oversharing at times), how they’ve managed to keep this list hidden from you for so long—three years, to be exact.

until now, that is.

STEP ONE TO MAKE SONG MINGI FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU: RUN INTO A PUBLIC PLACE IN A DRAMATIC MANNER WITH SOMETHING OF IMPORTANCE TO MINGI ! (IT SHOWS THAT YOU CARE VERY MUCH ABOUT HIM TO THE POINT OF NOT CARING ABOUT HOW OTHER PEOPLE SEE YOU)

mingi frowns as he looks down at his phone, eyebrows furrowed when he looks up at yunho. “she’s ten minutes late.”

yunho nods, also frowning. “maybe something came up and that’s why she’s running late?”

slumping down in his seat, mingi sighs, grumbling, “yeah, but she would’ve texted us by now if something happened. you know how yn is…”

the bells of the café entrance chimes, signaling the appearance of a customer. mingi, at this point, has given up checking if every new customer that walks into the café is you. he folds his arms on the table, resting his head as he pouts.

“oh yn!”

and then he immediately perks up in his seat, excitedly turning around to face you. yunho gets up, giving you a hug before ushering you into the seat next to mingi’s.

“i’m so sorry,” you wheeze, “i was going to text the group chat but then my phone died.”

yunho tilts his head. “your phone died? you don’t usually use your phone while you have a shift at the restaurant.”

“i don’t,” you say, running a hand through your tousled hair. “but i forgot to charge my phone before i left my place, and then when i went to that doughnut place, the lines were ridiculously long but i was already in line so i decided to suck it up and—"

“woah,” laughs mingi. “slow down.”

“sorry,” you mumble, sighing and taking in a breath before continuing. “i went to the doughnut place that just opened up. i read on a forum that wednesday afternoons are usually the slowest, so i decided i’d stop by before coming over to the cafe to study with you guys. when i got there, there was already a line that was about to start wrapping around the store, so i had to beat this lady next to me that wanted to get in line.”

“a lady,” yunho repeats, chuckling.

you hum. “yeah. i beat her to it, by the way. anyway, i was checking the time and saw it was already nearing the time we decided on, so i was in the middle of sending a text when my phone died.” you take out your phone from your tote bag along with a box.

it’s then that cogs in mingi’s brain starts working when he eyes the cursive lettering on the box.

“oh, isn’t that the doughnut place mingi’s been wanting to try out?” yunho asks, hands stretching out to grab the box.

you slap his hands, earning a laugh from the taller male as he brings them back to his side. “yes,” you reply, side-eyeing yunho. “meaning this isn’t for you.”

grabbing the box, you sheepishly smile at mingi, handing it over to him. “i know you’ve been trying to find the time to go over and try their doughnuts, but since my workplace is closer… i mean, why not?”

“excuse us for a second,” mingi mumbles, leaving you confused as he grabs yunho’s arm and drags him over to a corner in the cafe. once you’re out of earshot, mingi clears his throat. “what the hell was that?”

“what was what?” whispers yunho, blinking as he watches mingi glance over at you. you’re in the middle of trying to tame down your wild hair.

“she just completed step one.”

yunho gasps, turning mingi around by his shoulders. “no way,” he says. “did you tell her about the list?”

“what? no!” he cries out. “how did she even do it? yunho, i swear if you told her—”

“that’s not my secret to tell!” yunho whisper-shouts. “listen, this was probably a one time thing. there’s no way she even knows about it. plus, maybe she was just feeling a little generous today towards you!”

mingi slowly nods. “yeah,” he mumbles. “yeah, you’re right. let’s head back before yn starts asking questions…”

yunho was not right.

STEP TWO: IN MINGI’S TIME OF NEED, DO WHATEVER YOU CAN IN ORDER TO MAKE HIM FEEL HAPPY (THIS IS TO SHOW THAT YOU WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR HIM NO MATTER WHAT TIME IT IS OR WHAT YOU’RE DOING)

mingi grumbles as he kicks his shoes off and drops his things on the floor by the door, closing it and shuffling over to his room as he angrily sends a text to the group chat.

it’s already one in the morning. yunho is most likely gaming and you’re most likely already sleeping. regardless, mingi still sends a text and doesn’t bother waiting for an answer as he flops down into his bed face-first.

he barely manages to make out the sound of his phone ringing. he blindly searches for his phone until his hand finally finds it. grunting, he brings it to his face, his eyes squinting at the screen from the brightness in comparison to his dark room.

yn: you still have your spare key in the same place, right?

mingi: i thought you had my spare after last time?

he sees that you’re in the middle of typing, so he waits until you finally send another message.

yn: oh

yn: yeah, you’re right. just found it on my keychain

mingi: i’m always right

yn: mmmmmm i wouldn’t say that but sure…

mingi: bruh

again, the typing bubble pops up on his screen before it disappears. mingi’s a bit confused, he won’t lie. he thought you would already be sleeping, but you weren’t. he snorts. “she asked me about my spare key instead of what’s wrong…?”

he shakes his head, stuffing it into his pillow. “whatever,” he mumbles.

mingi swears he’d only closed his eyes for a brief moment when the sound of his door unlocking fills the air. he stiffens in his bed before scrambling off, fumbling to find something to protect himself. he unplugs the lamp by his nightstand and grips it tightly, quietly tiptoeing towards his door.

“mingi?”

“yn, what the hell?” mingi groans, stepping out of his room and walking into the living room area of his apartment.

you narrow your eyes in confusion, pointing at the lamp he’s still holding. “why do you have a lamp in your hand?”

“the real question here is why are you here?” he huffs, leaning down to put the lamp on the floor. mingi then crosses his arms over his chest, “and why aren’t you sleeping?”

“i was about to sleep,” you say, walking past mingi and into his room. he follows you, his mouth open in surprise. “but then you texted that you had a shit day, so here i am.” you drop the bag you’re holding onto his bed, turning around. “now why the hell did you have a lamp in your hand?”

mingi clears his throat. “i, uh, thought someone was breaking in…”

you snort, sitting on his bed and patting the space next to the bag. “that’s funny, mings. no one is going to break in if you’re a broke college student.”

huffing, he grumbles as he sits down on his bed, bringing his knees up to his chest. “shut up.”

“mhm,” you hum. “now tell me about why you had a shit day while we eat some of your favorites, yeah?” you stick your hand into the bag and take out one of his favorite snacks, opening the bag and handing it over to him while you shift around to face him.

he thinks his heart started beating a little too fast for his liking.

STEP THREE: WHEN MINGI IS STRUGGLING TO DO SOMETHING, JUST DO IT FOR HIM WITHOUT EVEN ASKING IF HE NEEDS ASSITANCE (THIS IS TO SHOW THAT YOU NOTICE WHEN HE IS STRUGGLING)

you look between yunho and mingi. yunho’s trying so hard not to laugh, but his smile gives him away. he obviously finds mingi struggling to light the grill amusing.

“c’mon,” you slap yunho’s arm, earning a whine from him. “don’t be a bully.”

“yeah, yunho,” mingi says, looking up for a brief second to glare at him before looking back at the box of matches in his hand. “don’t be a bully.”

you gently take the box away from mingi’s hands, taking out a match and striking it against the box, a flame appearing. you grab the lighter fluid and pour some on the charcoal before chucking the match into the grill, a fire immediately coming to life.

mingi gasps and hides behind you, startled. yunho laughs at the sight. “no way you’re hiding behind yn right now,” he says, wiping tears away from his eyes. “she’s literally so short compared to you.”

“shut up, jeong yunho.” you point at him. “or else i’ll change my netflix password.”

yunho gasps. “you wouldn’t dare!”

as you and yunho quarrel, mingi sighs, hiding his face in his hands when he feels the back of his neck grow unbearably hot.

you are doing a number on him.

and he’s a little scared.

because you’re his best friend.

and he can’t believe that his best friend, of all people, would be completing his five-step-guide in making him fall for someone.

he has to talk to yunho soon about this.

STEP FOUR: WHEN MINGI IS HURT, HELP AND CODDLE HIM (THIS IS TO SHOW THAT YOU CARE A LOT ABOUT HIM)

he never got the chance to talk to yunho about this.

after your impromptu bbq day at yunho’s place, mingi ended up getting sick. he didn’t tell anyone, not wanting to bother anyone and burden them with taking care of him. so here he is, laying in his bed, shivering and clutching onto his blankets for dear life.

he hears his front door clicking open, and he groans. “go away!” he croaks, sneezing afterwards. “i have nothing to offer you, you thief!”

you laugh. “seriously? you think i’m some robber again?”

at the sound of your voice, mingi’s heart skips a beat. he clears his throat. “no… what are you doing here? i seriously need to take my spare key away from you…”

“yeah, yeah,” you say, walking into his room and raising an eyebrow when you see the state he’s in. “why didn’t you tell yunho or i about this, mings? we would’ve come running to you.”

he sneezes. “i didn’t want to annoy anyone,” he says, lowering his blankets from his face just to see you.

you click your tongue and walk to the side of the bed, pressing your hand to the back of his forehead. “don’t be silly, mingi. you know we don’t find you annoying… at least i don’t find you annoying,” you mumble, straightening your back and walking out of the room. “i’m going to make you some soup, you weakling! don’t get up!”

mingi lets out a weak laugh, sneezing afterwards. “yes, ma’am…”

“what was that?”

“yes, ma’am!” he yells, his voice cracking. mingi hears you giggle to yourself.

he huffs, pulling his blankets over his head.

when you’re done making the soup, you carry a bowl and some cough medicine into his room and find that he’s asleep. you set the bowl on his nightstand, shaking him awake as gently as possible. “mingi,” you whisper. “mingi, i have the soup. i need you to wake up so that i can feed you.”

“feed me?” he asks, whispering.

you hum, opting to card your hand through his hair that’s been growing out recently. “yeah, i need to feed you.”

“feed… feed me?” mingi screeches, abruptly sitting up. you gasp, almost falling off the bed.

clearing your throat, you reach out to grab the bowl, placing it in your lap and grabbing a spoonful, blowing on it slightly before leaning away. “here…”

mingi stares at you, wide-eyed.

you purse your lips. “mingi, i need you to eat so that you can get better.”

“right!” he says, his voice an octave higher than usual as he moves to eat the soup. when he leans back, mingi sees you smiling at him.

his stomach does some summersaults.

STEP FIVE: TAKE CARE OF MINGI (THIS SHOWS THAT HE IS VERY IMPORTANT TO YOU)

mingi puffs his cheeks out, trying not to laugh as he takes out his keys.

“yunho, i need you to carry the cake… actually, never mind, jongho can you please carry the cake?”

yunho gasps. “yn, do you not believe in me and my capabilities to carry a cake?”

“...no, i don’t.”

“what the—”

hongjoong claps once. “stop fighting!” he says. “mingi’s going to be here any minute now—”

“actually,” pipes up seonghwa. “it says that he just arrived.”

“what the fuck!” wooyoung screams. “guys, hurry the fuck up! he’s coming!”

“wooyoung… stop screaming… you’re giving us away,” yeosang says.

“yeah, what my boyfriend said.” san says.

“san, dude, how many times do i have to tell you that i am not your boyfriend.”

mingi takes in a deep breath before shoving his keys into the lock, the noise going on on the other side immediately stopping. he can hear you all shuffling around until someone whisper-shouts at jongho to go shut the door.

“what the—but i’m carrying the cake?” jongho sounds baffled.

“give me the cake and go stop mingi from coming in! yunho hasn’t finished hanging the stupid banner!” you cry out.

mingi assumes jongho’s laying his weight on top of the door because he can’t push it open.

“did you just call me stupid, yn?”

“no, but i will if you don’t hurry up!”

“guys,” hongjoong sighs, and mingi can bet that he’s rubbing his temples. “i think mingi can hear you.”

he sure can.

“okay, jongho come back!”

mingi snorts, pushing the door open and flicking the lights on. yunho’s awkwardly holding the end of a birthday banner up while the other end is taped onto the wall. hongjoong and seonghwa both sigh in unison at how badly the surprise is coming along, and wooyoung and san are trying to push each other out of the way so that one of them can stand next to yeosang, who is rolling his eyes and trying to shuffle away from the two. jongho stands to your side, the only one who is actually smiling at him—oh, he’s lying.

you’re smiling at him while holding a birthday cake.

“suprise, mings!” you say.

everyone yells happy birthday to him, and somehow he finds himself getting shoved by wooyoung towards the small table he has by the kitchen. you’re standing next to him, laughing as you put the paper party hat on his head, making sure that the thin string is secured underneath his chin before moving to get the knife.

“let mingi cut the cake!” wooyoung yells.

“he could get himself cut, and the birthday boy shouldn’t have to do it unless he wants to,” you chide, glancing up at mingi through your eyelashes. “do you want to cut it, mings?”

he swallows the lump in his throat, shaking his head afterwards. “no,” he breathes out, licking his lips. “you can do it for me, if that’s okay.”

you grin at him, carefully cutting up the cake. you place the slices on plates, making sure that the biggest slice goes to mingi.

oh no, he thinks.

you’ve officially completed his five-step-guide to his heart.

“um, yn?” mingi leans down to whisper into your ear.

you hum in response.

“can we talk for a sec?”

nodding, you let yourself get dragged by mingi into his room. after closing the door, he looks at you and you notice that his ears are very red.

“are you okay?” you ask, pointing at your ears. “your ears are red.”

mingi whines, covering his face with his hand. “can you turn around real quick?”

“okay…”

mingi peeks through his fingers, sighing in relief when your back is facing him. he clears his throat and wipes the palms of his hands on his jeans. “i, uh… would you like to go out for dinner sometime this week?”

“as a date?” you ask, fighting the urge to turn around to look at him.

in a small voice, mingi replies. “yeah… as a date.”

“i’d like that.”

Block Tales Predictions & Headcanons Because This is my New Hyperfixation

Predictions

So the next sword is 100% the Firebrand. And what better fire level is there than an active volcano? I believe the next demo will open up the docks & we're gonna be sailing to a tropical, volcanic island for the Firebrand.

Added with that, I believe we'll meet the ship captain mentioned by Mayor Monty (can't for the life of me remember the name rn), as he'll be the one to sail us across.

I also believe that this Chapter or maybe the Windforce one will be weilded by Kyoko's sister, since Kyoko's dialogue in Chapter 3 hints that at the very least something is going wrong with her.

On the UnkownSpaceGuy Youtube channel - the channel that uploads both demo trailers & the OST - there's a track listed called Space Battle. While some might think the background & track are misdirects, considering the Weird Battle OST teased enemies from Chapter 3 well before it was implemented, I think it's possible this could also be hinting at future content. Specifically, I believe the Chapter taking place on the moon will either be the Darkheart or Illumina one.

Once the game is finished, there'll be a New Game+ mode where you can actually have the chance to beat Terry at the beginning of the game.

Headcanons

~Cruel King~

Dude needs a different moniker than "Cruel King" because that is a misnomer and a half. So, unless he's given an official name, his given name will be Rex to me.

His favorite foods include warm drinks like hot chocolate & coffee and frozen desserts, especially ice cream.

His favorite ice cream flavor is strawberry.

He likes Mexican cuisine but it also destroys him.

Had a German Shepherd when he was growing up.

~Griefer~

While Mayor Thaniyel is mostly right about Brad not being 100% like that before the influence of the sword, he still was a bit of a little shit. It's just that Thaniyel didn't see most of it and it was mostly relegated to online games/forums.

Despite what his soda addiction may lead you to believe, he really likes fresh fruits, apples being a particular favorite.

Likes sherbet & sorbet more than ice cream.

Really likes spicy food. Man would fuck up a bag of Flammin' Hot Cheetos & puts jalapenos on everything he can.

It is often said that the highest honor one can give a fictional character is to headcanon them your personal lived experiences and traumas. Thusly, Griefer has mommy issues. Undecided whether I prefer her being kind of a bad mom or if she simply wasn't around when Brad was growing up.

Big fan of Pokemon. Favorite Gen is 3, both in terms of the Gens in 2010 and all Generations to modern day. Favorite starter is Treeko, though Grooky would be a close second.

~Greed, Solitude, & Fear~

I like to group these three together as The Vices.

Greed is a bit of a fashionista, keeping up to date on the latest trends.

Greed likes carbonated drinks. Particularly, they like champagne.

If Greed were to order a steak, they'd order it Blue.

Solitude gets uncomfortable in large crowds. A large crowd to Solitude is more than 2 people.

It's difficult to tell at any given moment if Solitude is concentrating really hard on something that caught their attention or if they're just disassociating.

A picnic in the park might not fix Fear, but it would do a whole lot to improve their mental state.

Fear's favorite foods include fruity drinks/juices, comfort food, and baked goods.

Fear's favorite colors are dark blue and dark green.

Despite them literally being the embodiment of fear (or perhaps because of that), Fear is fiercely protective over those they care about. Can't have courage without fear after all.

Thanks for reading my guidelines. I'm Midnight (she/they, millennial, CET). My activity level and reply speed are (very) slow, please don’t rush me. English is my second language, mistakes will happen and I apologize in advance. My blog operates in english (default) and german, both are equally fine.

About and Verses are currently procrastinated worked on!

01. GENERAL INFO (for non-rp blogs). Besides being a roleplayer I am also a hobby gif maker, personal blogs are welcome! Basic Tumblr etiquette applies: Don’t steal, repost or edit my gifs. If you want to insert a single gif into one of your posts please use the gif search function. Make sure you don’t reblog my roleplay content which includes tag games, writing examples, headcanons, threads and answered asks. Speaking of asks: I will generally react in-character whenever possible but I am not an IC ask blog.

02. DISCLAIMER. I am not affiliated with the creators of The Boys or the actor Karl Urban and I don’t own the character Billy Butcher. I claim ownership of my own written headcanons and texts. All graphics/aesthetics, gifs and colorings on this blog are mine, up from 2024 until present. Older promos and edits have psds credited in their respective posts.

03. CONTENT WARNING. To interact with me, you have to be 18+ (mun and muse). The Boys is an R-rated series and this is a general trigger warning for mature content such as — strong language, graphic violence and gore, physical and mental abuse, mention of sa, mention of child abuse, alcohol addiction, mental illness, terminal illness, trauma, sexual content, weapons, drug use, political and social commentary, sick humour, satire and overall rude behaviour which can be expected from this muse. I will only tag some of these on a regular basis. I use "trigger cw" and my n.sfw tag is "usft". Please let me know if you need a specific thing tagged. I don't have a lot of triggers but I would ask you to tag spiders and horror jumpscares in gifs for me.

04. MUN ≠ MUSE. It should go without saying but at the same time cannot be stressed enough. This is a morally grey/villainous character. If you are easily offended we’re likely not matching well. Butcher can be tremendously rude and aggressive, he swears excessively and is quick to insult your muse if he dislikes them or feels provoked. Make sure that you can handle interacting with such a muse and do not take anything from him personal or too serious. But if we started writing and, for any reason, you feel discomfort please communicate it. I’m always willing to take a step back and sort things out.

05. INTERACTIONS. Best way to get started is through sending me prompts or having prompts/opens available on your blog, so I can interact with those! I have some starter- and interaction calls and I will post opens occasionally. I just got started with Tumblr rp in early 2025, so my blog is a bit empty and I'm still learning and figuring things out. Memes and prompts are always accepted, they never expire. Please try to link to the post you've send me something from, it makes my life easier, but I won't get mad if you don't. My inbox is open to everyone but starters and threads are for mutuals only. Don't continue an answered ask or reply to an open if we're not both following each other.

05 a. FOR FAKEVZ FOLKS: I am very reluctant to roleplay or talk in-character in dms, for different reasons (exceptions can be discussed on rare occasions). Please respect this as an important boundary. I'd rather use my dms for plotting purposes and checking in with my writing partners. However, I am open to short form writing on the dashboard which includes IC-Talk, if you're interested. I'm also willing to write on a sideblog but this option is heavily limited to not overwhelm myself. We should have interacted, plotted or known each other for a while. I do not rp outside of Tumblr (Discord, Wire, Docs, Forums, etc.)

06. WRITING. No godmodding, power play, meta gaming. I also don’t like forcing or rushing certain dynamics that don’t feel like natural character progression. Plotting beforehand is welcome but not mandatory. If it ever feels like being stuck we can pause the writing and have a small plotting session between scenes or even for the same scene. I am a big fan of the “yes, and” approach, give me something to work with. I don’t have an estimated length for texts, it always depends.

07. REGARDING AI. My blog is strictly and firmly against the usage of AI. I will never use AI for writing or to generate images. If I ever accidentially reblog something AI-generated please let me know, but be respectful while you do so. I do not wish to write with you if you use AI, don't ever feed my writing to an AI, I do not consent to this.

08. FORMATTING. I don’t do a lot of formatting. I prefer small font, my writing is usually continuous text with no line breaks for dialogue. Let me know if this is difficult to read for you and I will adjust, no questions asked. Please try to trim your posts if possible. Generally, feel free to format your text as you wish but here are some things I have issues with: Excessive spacing between words (triple space and higher), excessive bolding or italicizing to a point where it distracts me; all caps, text from font generators (captions and highlighted phrases are perfectly fine but I can’t read a whole text in those fonts).

09. SHIPPING. I’m multiship and multiverse, every ship takes place in its own verse if not communicated otherwise. I rely heavily on chemistry, don't force things. The occasional smut might happen but I’m more interested in exploring dynamics outside of romantic shipping, such as allies, enemies, enemies to friends, found family, etc. and I'd love to have a setting where I get a chance to write Butcher as an unhinged villain and diverge from the canon liberally.

10. FOLLOWING. I will likely follow you first if I stumble upon your blog through community tags or shared mutuals and if I like your muse(s), your writing, aesthetics or all of the above! You can be sure that I have read your pinned post and rules. I follow every blog out of genuine interest and curiousity, not to collect follow backs, but please understand that it’s impossible for me to reach out to everyone. Don’t get offended when I forget and also never feel obligated to become mutuals. If you softblocked me in the past and I refollow you it’s accidentially. Hardblock me if you don’t want that to happen, I won’t take it personal.

11. ACTIVITY. My blog is labeled low activity. I am here for rp, but I like to do lots of other things on Tumblr, too. There’s periods of time where I don’t have the energy to work on drafts or talk to anyone. Rest assured that you never did anything wrong when I disappear for a while. What I’m not willing to do is constantly giving activity updates on a schedule. Hi hi! This is my casual roleplay blog for Vox from Hazbin Hotel. The blog name was inspired by Eyes on Me (Vox's Song) by PARANOiD DJ. Mun is 23 and goes by he/him pronouns, along with loving to write chaotic TV men. I am open to roleplaying with most, along with being a sucker for crossovers, but please keep my boundaries in mind. I also have brain fog, so I apologize if I misremember or forget details. Just gently remind me of things if need be.

I don't mind spam likes, I'm actually incredibly flattered when people like my roleplays. But also keep in mind some of my roleplaying partners may not be as comfortable with it. 🦈 This blog is 18+, and I am not comfortable roleplaying with minors. I absolutely will not roleplay NSFW with ageless blogs. I will also not write out NSFW scenes with muses who are below 18. I block H/arry P/otter blogs, and I tend to avoid pro/shippers, sorry. This is an AI free zone. Other than that, I am pretty open to roleplaying with most. Just be respectful, and know that I will draw boundaries if a part of our roleplay is making me uncomfortable.

🦈 I would consider myself "semi active". I am online most of the time, but I do have other responsibilities and interests. The quickest way to get me to block you is possessive behavior. To be clear, "did you see my reply" after a few days is fine, Tumblr's notifs suck and I appreciate the reminder to check threads. Guilt tripping me or throwing a fit because it's taking me some time is not okay. If I do not want to RP with you, I will just block you. No, I am not going to drop everything to roleplay with you. I don't mind making friends over RP, but if you're acting overly familiar with me right off the bat, I'm going to put some distance between us. Please don't call me pet names, I am quite uncomfortable with it.

🦈 I reserve the right to block anyone who is making me uncomfortable at anytime. Sliding into my DMs afterwards will only make me all the more glad I blocked you, because it shows a lack of respect for boundaries. Roleplaying with you and letting you into my space is not something I owe you.

🦈 I will not roleplay on Discord. I'm sorry, but due to past experiences, I see someone inviting me to discord, especially after no or minimal interactions, as a red flag. Often times, it is because that person doesn't want to display their poor RP etiquette publicly, wants to make it more socially awkward for the person to back out, or is trying to gravitate the roleplayer away from Tumblr so they can have them all to themselves (aka doesn't want to wait their turn). Sorry, the latter right is reserved for friends only. If those aren't your reasons, cool, but we're all strangers on the internet, and I am far more comfortable roleplaying here on a public forum than privately.

🦈 As a fair warning, I am quite canon divergent, or I guess a combination of that and popular fanon divergent. I go by my own headcanons. For example, I headcanon that Valentino abuses Vox as well (physical and sexual). This will sometimes be referenced/discussed with proper warnings. I think Vox is a very flawed individual, but I don't play him as a monster, and I don't agree with the take he's as bad as Val. There's bits in the show I just outright ignore because I don't think it fits his greater character, and others I recontextualize. I also have zero interest in season 2, and mostly work within pilot and season 1 content.

🦈 I didn't make much note of it before, and I've realized I'm unique in this, so, I'm gonna put an FYI here. I am quite sensitive when it comes to jokes about breaking Vox's screen, so please don't make them with me. To be clear, these jokes have been told to me quite a bit in the fandom, so I wanted to clarify that I'm sensitive to them. I know no one ever means any harm when they tell them, so I feel bad when I have an immediate knee jerk reaction to them. Yes, I am a bit protective of Vox when it comes to the abuse I headcanon him going through, so keep that in mind.

🦈 I won't roleplay out abusive relationships between my muse and your muse. Complicated? Absolutely! Messy? Totally! Outright abusive or toxic though? Not my thing. Valentino muses are the exception, but please communicate with me beforehand so I know what to expect. I will not RP romanticized abuse. I won't RP my muse dying either, please don't kill them and ask me first before inflicting serious injury. I am okay with most ships except cutesy Vox x Valentino.

🦈 I do have some NSFW boundaries. I am not comfortable with foot stuff, penetration, anything doing with bodily waste, bodily harm, intense dom/sub dynamics, or noncon (including consenting noncon). Please communicate with me before starting an NSFW scene with me (if I respond to an NSFW starter, it's fine). FYI, I tend to focus more on the emotional side of it over the bodily stuff. Yes, I will sometimes explore how the abuse Vox undergoes/went with Val affects how he views sex as a fair warning.

Challengers (2024) review

That’s one way of engaging me in sport I guess.

Plot: Tashi, a tennis player turned coach, has transformed her husband from a mediocre player into a world-famous grand slam champion. To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a challenger event -- close to the lowest level of tournament on the pro tour. Tensions soon run high when he finds himself standing across the net from the once-promising, now burnt-out Patrick, his former best friend and Tashi's former boyfriend.

It’s safe to say this movie has blew up the internet. Zendaya with her major fan-base starring in a threesome tennis flick that’s brought to you by the director who revealed Timothee Chalamet to the world in that queer flick that featured the infamous peach scene? Now that’s quite the selling pitch. Naturally the result is a box office success and a movie that is already taking the top spot for the most memeable motion picture of the year. And I get it, this movie is definitely provocative enough and has enough sexual tension in it to excite any viewer. I’ll refer to my friend’s Letterboxd review for this movie with him saying the following: “I’ve found recently that hormones in films plays a factor in how much I like the film and this film is very horny”. Right, let’s not delve too deep into my friend’s evident sexual frustration, but he is not wrong that this movie reaches peak horny levels. Every scene is imbued with the steamy appetites of its central trio of characters. Like damn to these people want to f*ck hard big time! This should not come as a surprise though, as this follows a very similar formula to Luca Guadagnino’s other films, stoking the appetite of the youth to provide an open forum for unbridled desire to let loose. Call Me by Your Name, Suspiria, Bones and All, A Bigger Splash - every single one of these features tackles themes of sensuality and elegance. You know exactly what you’re getting into with a Guadagnino movie and Challengers is no exception.

That being said, with Challengers the actual narrative serves itself perfectly for a trashy B-movie experience, however it is thanks to Guadagnino’s directorial prowess that the film rises above that and becomes a truly cinematic experience. This thing looks great, and I don’t mean due to the lovely actors present, but the camerawork and the scene framework. The way the sweat drops off people’s faces in slow motion and the camera lingers on their stoic yet thoughtful facial expressions to the impressive tennis match scenes with a particular impressive sequence involving the scene being shown for, the perspective of the tennis ball which….I don’t know how the hell they managed it but that was awesome! Also need to mention the great techno score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross that creates an unlikely pairing in electronic dance music and classical, with the result really amping up the energy of every moment. Honestly from a technical standpoint this movie is a marvel.

In regards to the narrative that is where we start running into some trouble. For starters this movie did not need to be over 2 hours. The story was simple enough to shrink down to a 100 min max run-time, but instead the film opts to really dial in on extended pointless shots that linger way too long, so much so that I noted multiple audience members looking at their mobile phones to check the time. Secondly those excessive time jumps. Telling a story in a non-linear fashion can be a useful story-telling device, but here it was used way too much that it became distracting. Like there was a time jump back and forth every 5 minutes, with some jumps sprawling 13 years, which made it really difficult to get engaged in certain moments. Speaking of the 13 years, bless Zendaya’s heart but as much as they tried to age and de-age her through hair and make-up, she never looked older than 19 years regardless of the time era. For all of the film’s technical achievements you’d think they’d put more effort in the make-up department.

As for the actors, whilst I admire Zendaya for tackling such a meaty and, dare I say, challenging role, I feel like she’s too young in her acting career to be able to fully perform a weathered, jaded, cynical, ruthless and calculating character like Tashi. It seemed for the most part she relied on having a resting scowl face, but otherwise I found it actually hard to believe any of her chemistry with her male co-stars. As for the male co-stars, out of this love triangle it was in fact the queer relationship that really popped. Props to Mike Faist (who was a highlight for me in the recent West Side Story remake) and Josh O’Connor whose chemistry was through the roof! The way they looked at one another, to the churros to the way O’Connor smoothly moved Faist’s stool closer to his with his foot…… they can say they are best friends all they want but we just know they are both aching for those benefits! Again it’s how strong of performances these two give that hinders Zendaya who is nowhere close to their level.

Challengers overall is an entertaining enough youthful erotic crowd -pleaser that from a filmmaking standpoint looks fantastic, however due to the narrative structure and Zendaya’s arguable miscast this movie falters. That being said to Tom Holland, dude, I’ve seen your social media posts about being excited to support your girlfriend and going to see this movie, but dude, I bet your cried your eyes out after. Spider-Man - she ain’t coming home!

Overall score: 6/10

EXPERIENCE: OOoh boy buckle up. I used to RP WAAAAAAAY back in the day in a chatroom called animechatroom I think (I was like...10 ok). Then I moved from there to GaiaOnline in middle school. And I RP'd in the forums on Gaia until the end of my freshman year of high school where I started on tumblr with my bestie irl. I had a humanized Rainbow Dash blog from MLP: Friendship is Magic. If any of you have been around since then and know me from back then, my url was theloyalrainbow. I took a break for a few years to focus on college, and now I'm back! So over all, roughly 20 years of experience.

PREFERRED ROLEPLAY TYPE: I prefer novella-type RP. No topic is really off-limits for me, but I do adjust my own descriptions and subjects for whatever my partners prefer. My strengths as a writer lie in combat, conflict, and angst. I'm open to writing any and all moments though!

PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS: I have a few things to list and explain!

I have a harder time with threads that aren't plotted. They don't have to be super extensive, I just need enough of a direction to go on so that things don't get stale.

I would prefer that we at least chat a bit before actually starting to RP. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I likely won't respond to starter posts that haven't been discussed with me prior to seeing it pop up on my dashboard.

PLOTS OR MEMES: I highly prefer plots over memes! But that doesn't mean we can't meme on the side! Just know that plots will get more attention than memes!

LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: As you've probably already noticed, I tend to write fucking novels with most of my threads. I don't expect anyone to ever match my length, but I need something to work with more than a single paragraph or a handful of sentences. I get really excited about Cyra interacting with other muses and I can't help myself when it comes to telling stories.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: Honestly, whenever I'm awake and not playing games or working on art. You could message me at any point in the day and I will respond the moment I see the notification pop up.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: I firmly believe that I've taken a few aspects of myself and exaggerated them a bit to better fit my idea of who Cyra is as an individual and using my own lived experiences to help me write her better. Not everything she does is something I would do, and not everything I would do is something she would do. A lot of her personality is inspired from multiple sources, but her desire to help people is one thing that is definitely derived from myself. If anything, Cyra is more like my cats than me. XD

What is your biggest insecurity in writing? I want as much magic whatever as I can possibly get, I want everything to be totally unrealistic and crazy and non-human and non-normal life. You will literally never see me write a normal human character.

Do you believe that characters can be redeemed? It depends on the character. There are some characters in movies or tv shows that are literally so... So, horrible, that you just want them to be killed off. Like when their face shows up on the screen you're just like, ffs, someone kill this mf. So for those types of characters, no. For characters that are "villainous" for reasons, they have well-fleshed out backstories and all that, and you can just tell there's so much more to them than this bad shit they do, ya know? Especially those that you legit like waaayyy better than the "hero" "good guy" characters. Those guys? I'm rootin' for 'em.

What’s the most difficult thing about being a multi muse blog? Having a lot of muses but only wanting to / having a ton of muse to write one or two of them. I know a lot of people obviously follow for certain muses so, I feel bad when it's a muse that I have verryyy low writing motivation for. Not that I don't write replies as quickly as I am able to or anything like that, I don't yeet them under the bus or anything, it's just, I very much pick favorites when it comes to my muses and I can't help it.

What is one advice you wish you could give to multi muse blogs? Well, one thing I've told myself recently actually... And I love it so much?? Because it just works so well for myself and other people who follow me. I've changed my rules around and, if people don't specify my muse when they; like a starter / meme call or send me memes / questions in the ask box... That's my opportunity to just, choose whoever I want to write, and it makes it easier for people who want to just quickly throw some stuff my way without worrying about having to look at the muse list first and whatever, just, yeet, and I'll do what I want. If they ain't happy about the muse I've chosen to give them, that's 100% on them and if they knew they wouldn't be happy with certain muses be chosen, then they should have specified one, two or three names. I highly recommend it, to be honest, because I love it.

rp pet peeves : people who blatantly haven't read my rules (or worse, have read them but think they'll be the exception) who then try to write things that I clearly state I won't do. also people who ignore my 'please reblog from the source' - look people I get it, I get that some of you hate that rule. but if you don't like it and don't want to respect it, then please just don't follow me because my rules should not be ignored simply because they inconvenience you.

fluff, angst, or smut : it depends on my mood? no to smut just because I don't write that in threads, but I flick between fluff and angst at the drop of a hat

plots or memes : once again, mood dependent. if my muse is running wild, I love doing plots, but if I'm struggling with replies then I find that memes are great for getting some of my creative juices flowing.

long or short replies : depends on the plot. some threads call for longer replies because they have a lot going on, but others just need shorter ones otherwise you start to waffle on.

time to write : when I have muse? there's legit nothing consistent about that for me lol

I have Linux Mint on my travel laptop. I do not have it on my Larger Less-Travel-y Laptop, because I need Acrobat Pro to do work, and I am a Word user at a skill level that makes switching to Libre Office difficult. (Also I use both Word and Acrobat Pro in my day job; there is no option of "just get used to something else." It'd always be "get used to both.") I also use ABBYY FineReader, and there is absolutely nothing Linux-friendly that compares.

Can attest that Linux Mint is easy to install and easy to use. Slightly more difficult to set up to run on a flash drive that remembers your settings instead of wiping the base OS. (...I hauled in Linux-Fluent Daughter to set that up. I could've done it alone but was getting frustrated. Creating partitions on a flash drive is not fun for non-techies.)

(Srsly, Linux folks, why the hell is there no How To Switch From Windows website? Why is there no nice, open community and attached Discord for So You Want To Defenestrate Your Computer? No tiny nonprofit focused on End The Chromebook Conspiracy? Where's the "We convert Win7 Laptops into Linux For Students" group?)

Notes from a power Windows user who has loved Linux for decades but has very little practical experience with it:

The "choose a distro" advice is terrible. There are no guidelines for it, 2/3 of the searchable advice about it is more than 10 years old, and fully half of that is "how to get the smallest possible distro onto your very tiny ancient drive." And it's great to know that I can run Linux off a 2gb flash drive! But. It's not what I actually need.

Info about "how do I run this set of programs I use all the time" is also terrible. And often hostile, and packed with "you should be using open source software instead."

At no point in the "hey you should try Linux!" discussions does anyone mention "oh by the way, some laptops will have no native support for certain exotic features like audio or printing. You will need to track down special drivers or weird third-party plugin things to make those work. You will only discover this lack after you have installed Linux, joined a Zoom call, and realized that your OS thinks your speakers don't exist."

Choose a password you are comfortable typing A LOT. Seriously, security is less of an issue here than "password I can type 30 times during a fix-it session." You can switch to a more secure password when you're comfortable with the OS. (Don't use "password" or "pa55w0rd" as your password, but you also don't need to go the "correct horse battery staple" route.)

A notable number of apps do not have a "click here to install" feature that we get used to with Windows. Snap and Flatpak are not difficult to learn or work with, but they are different. (And they usually take more space than expected.)

A lot of apps require frequent updates to function. Especially the ones that don't have a native Linux version. This is also frustrating.

OS emulators and virtual drives are next-level techistry and any suggestions for using them should be followed with either a very solid tutorial (in TEXT form, not a video) or an offer to hand-hold while someone gets it set up.

Once you start using Linux - if it's Mint, it will mostly seem like Windows. Sometimes there'll be a weird error message. WHEN SEARCHING FOR ADVICE: make sure to add [linux mint] to the search terms, AND limit the results to the last year. Otherwise, you wind up finding forum posts from 2014 that say "Ugh this driver issue has been FIXED; just fuckin install Ubuntu 12 already." (Ubuntu is currently at 24.1.)

Some people will tell you you can use Linux without getting into command-line activity. They are lying. You will need to be at least somewhat comfortable with the Terminal. This is not hard, but it is different. And there are no starter tutorials on this. (I have been looking literally for decades.) (I do not speak Command Line well enough to write one.)

Some people will tell you Linux isn't functional unless you learn a whole lot of command-line functions and do most of your operations from there. They are also lying.

There are differences between the distros that, as a Windows or Mac user, you cannot comprehend. Like. They will rattle off a list of features and those will mean nothing to you. They mean nothing to me. I went with Mint because it is "most like Windows." My daughter uses PopOS because it has better VR support. I think.

You will occasionally have to re-install the whole damn OS, and it will be terrifying. It will tell you your files are safe. This is correct, if you have not done weird customized wonkery to them, in which case, you don't need the warning.

Google knows about Linux and they are Not Happy. Newer Chromebooks can't be directly converted to Linux without fucking with the hardware - as in, open them up and remove the thing they installed to make Linux not work. (Or rather, to make ChromeOS always recoverable.) However, even those will allow running Linux off a flash drive.

The key advantages to Linux:

Lack of Microsoft & Apple's increasing demands to collect all your personal data.

Lack of random "upgrades" that fuck up your existing processes. (That said: If you use cloud-based apps - like, oh, Discord - you will need frequent updates anyway.)

Whateverthefuck is going on with AI invading your computer - you can dodge all of that.

If you do want to customize things, you can. You can change a lot of the appearance, the startup details, what software gets priority in the system, and a whole swarm of back-end details that most Windows users (including me) are pretty much oblivious to. CAVEAT: None of that is as easy as many Linux stans make it sound. SECOND CAVEAT: If you customize your system to hell and back, you won't be able to work (well) on a standard base-install version. The result of this, is that Linux experts often flounder when helping newbies, because they don't know what any of the default settings are anymore. (They are experts. They know what's available and how to make it work. They just don't know where it's hiding in your system.)

Linux will run on much smaller, slower computers than MS or Apple, because, see above, it's not trying to spy on you or inflict AI shenanigans on you. A basic student-functional Linux laptop can be much cheaper than what's needed to run the current Windows or MacOS, and less cloud-driven that Chromebooks.

I swear to fucking god. I would claw out OneDrive from my computer if I could. I would burn down their servers if I could. I would run down their stocks to the ground if I could. I hope every single one of their workers gets a better offer from a competitor in the next 24 hours. I hope every single one of their light bulbs explodes at the same time. I hope every single carton of milk in their fridge will always be expired.

Stop backing up my fucking files.

Stop asking me to back up my fucking files.

Stop taking my fucking files off my fucking computer.

I don't want a fucking reminder in three fucking days. Let me fucking say no.

I am from the age of forum rps and haven't touched a literate writing RP in nearly a decade. How does a discord server RP work? How does a typical interaction take place (i.e. I play Robb Stark. Do I post a starter and see who joins? Do I put an invite and create a thread when I have interest?)? What's the current level of interaction, how busy is the server? How much out of character work happens?

A Discord RP server works by allowing people to write within different channels. So for example, there is a channel called King’s Landing and all plots set within King’s Landing take place within threads people make within that channel. (Threads are like chats within the channel chats.) You write your responses and post them as you would in a forum on any other site. Discord does have a bot called Tupper that we can teach you how to use, and it will allow you to make a custom thing for Robb to post your messages as. Since the server is multi-era, we make sure to keep a linear timeline still so everything is organized and easy to follow while people still get to sandbox the muses they want to write. This means that everything still has chronological events between the different eras of characters. Jon Snow cannot have tea with the Conquerors because they aren’t alive at the same time, but you can do different plots with Robb at any age of his from his birth to his death and fully explore his character. We date each rp at the beginning of them, such as stating “300 AC” at the beginning of the writing so people know when it takes place. The server just had some major characters open up, but the people with characters are eager to write with them and the community is pretty chill at the moment.
