The ballad of songbirds and snakes was perfect

(Here are my quick thoughts, I have read the other books but not this one so I went into this movie BLIND)

SPOILERS

-Rachel and Tom incredible

-THE DARK DAYS?!? Insane.

As someone who works at a movie theater, this weekend had been crazy... in a good way

I came into work Friday, and there was an old, light pink convertible in the parking lot, and when I saw it, I cackled. Truly, the spirit of Barbie.

I saw so many people as different barbies, the most prominent being cowgirl Barbie, and there was so much pink everywhere.

But in the same lane, I saw a lot of people in dark clothes or fancy clothes going to see Oppenheimer.

And so many of those people went to see both of those the same day, making it a double-deature and that's beautiful.

Anyway, some of my favorite interactions were making people strawberry/watermelon flavored margaritas and them being happy to have a pink drink. Also, someone saying "Bye Barbie!" to me and me saying "Bye Barbie!" back made them scream in joy. Made my night!

Now Watching: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice!

Can you believe I am getting back into the movie theater more and more? This time on OPENING DAY. And on top of that, the movie was excellent!

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024):

This was one of the better sequels I have seen in a hot ass minute. Despite almost 40 years in between movies, the only things that changed over time were for story purposes. Great cast, much of the same people behind and in front of the screen as the first one. Good story. It was one of those movies that packed the theater, sold the theater out of merch, and had clapping from beginning to end. I would not bring young kids to this and I would really advise watching the first one again.

I would buy this for digital rewatching and would watch it again. Really well done and congratulations to those who worked on the movie. It is interesting to see how we run out of ideas and remake things that did well when it was released OR became a cult classic since being released. Pretty soon well be seeing, or reseeing, titles like "Death Becomes Her" back on the screen, what do you want to see a remake or a sequel of?
