So, way back in the distant year of 2020 I doodled several characters from indie games I was playing at the time, which included my first ever drawing of Lea from Crosscode as well as the Ghost from Hollow Knight, the latter of whom is giving Lea some much needed support regarding her unconventional headgear.

Well, I decided to revisit their encounter, and it would appear that Lea has since embraced her horned headpiece, meaning the two antennaed allies can now confidently team up to take down... someone (idk. you I guess. 😈)

Not to brag but I am genuine happy with how this turned out; got a bit lazy with some of the shading/lighting, but otherwise I put in the effort to make this one look extra nice and I think it shows 😊 (it's certainly a notable improvement over the original for sure).

Yeah, most of my hobbies are just playing games. But I'm very problematic about it, and need to 100% the games I play. So far I have 40 completely done, and greatest hits include yakuza 0, celeste, cuphead, crosscode, hades, dmc collection, stardew valley, and hollow knight.

What’s one interest/hobby/thing you like that you have NEVER talked about on your blog before?

It can be anything from a whole ass fandom to just a little thing that makes you smile but it CAN’T be anything that you’ve mentioned before.

I’ll go first:

This week, I can’t seem to get enough of the Album “For Emma, Forever ago” by Bon Iver. It’s just such a lovely album and great when I’m feeling overstimulated. It seems to be really heralding the late autumnal vibes for me, and I love to put it on while I’m working or tidying or drawing or out for a walk.

The lore of this album is that he got dumped so went to a cabin in the woods somewhere in Wyoming with a guitar and a shitload of alcohol and some rudimentary recording equipment and created one of the best-sounding albums I’ve heard in a while. He’s got a very distinct voice. I like Bon Iver’s other stuff but this one is my favourite right now.

I finished GrimGrimoire OnceMore last night which means it is now time to choose a new game to make my friend watch me play. Looking at a slew of options: the SMT Fire Emblem crossover, The Last Guardian, Control, Eiyuden Chronicles: Rising, Little Nightmares, Dungeon Munchies, Desert Child, Hollow Knight, Raging Loop, CrossCode ... I don't know what a number of these are, because my best friend has my Nintendo and Playstation login information so sometimes things just appear on those systems.

Microsoft hizo oficial ayer la llegada del streaming de videojuegos a Xbox Game Pass para dispositivos con Android a España y otros 21 países. Gracias a este servicio podemos jugar a más de 160 juegos de consola desde nuestro Android, ya sea móvil, tablet o incluso, sí, Android TV.

Te explicamos paso a paso como instalar Xbox Game Pass en tu Smart TV con Android TV para poder tener una Xbox en tu salón, incluso si no tienes la consola.

Instala el archivo APK de Xbox Game Pass

A pesar de que que Android TV tiene acceso a la tienda de aplicaciones de Google Play Store, esta solo admite aplicaciones que están optimizadas para ser utilizadas en televisión. La aplicación de Xbox Game Pass, a pesar de funcionar perfectamente en Android TV, al no tener una interfaz de televisión no se encuentra en la tienda, lo que nos obliga a instalar el archivo APK manualmente.

Aquí tenemos varias opciones, como descargar el archivo en nuestro móvil desde la Play Store y utilizarlo o descargar la aplicación ya directamente desde páginas como APKMirror. Ten en cuenta a la hora de descargar la aplicación que, al contrario que en dispositivos móviles, la mayoría de Android TV del mercado son de 32 bits, por lo que si no descargas el archivo cuya arquitectura está listada como armeabi-v7a es posible que no puedas instalarlo.

Xbox Game Pass [APK]

Para poder instalar aplicaciones APK en Android TV es necesario, antes que nada, dirigirnos a la Play Store del propio Android TV. Desde aquí, tendremos que instalar tres aplicaciones en concreto, cumpliendo cada una de ellas uno de los tres pasos a seguir:

Lo primero, necesitamos un archivo APK. La forma más directa de tenerlo en el dispositivo es utilizando aplicaciones como Send Files to TV. En este artículo explicamos a fondo como se hace de forma sencilla.

Un aspecto a mejorar de Send Files to TV es que, aunque puede abrir imágenes, no puede hacer lo propio con aplicaciones APK. Para instalarla tendremos que utilizar un explorador de archivos. Existen muchas aplicaciones, en nuestro caso recomendamos:

FX Explorer.

Solid Explorer.

Una vez instalada la aplicación es probable que no te aparezca en la pantalla de inicio. Necesitarás un launcher para acceder a las aplicaciones. En la Play Store para Android TV existen muchos modelos

Si quieres instalar cualquier aplicación APK en Android TV, estos son los pasos que debes seguir para poder instalarlas y ejecutarlas.

Qué hacer una vez lo hemos instalado

Para iniciar sesión en la cuenta de Microsoft el proceso con mando es un tanto tedioso. Si tienes la posibilidad de conectar algún accesorio o usar el control de Android TV desde el móvil es mucho más fácil de realizar. Introduce la cuenta de usuario de Microsoft en la que estés suscrito a Game Pass y ya estarás casi listo para jugar.

Necesitas un mando para jugar

El último paso es conectar un mando compatible para poder jugar es conectar un mando. Si tu Android TV tiene algún puerto USB es posible que puedas usarlo para conectar su mando, aunque lo habitual aquí será que utilices la conexión bluetooth. Para ello será necesario que nos vayamos a los ajustes del dispositivo, y en la sección de accesorios pulsar en vincular un nuevo dispositivo Bluetooth.

Ya el año pasado Google irrumpió en Android con Google Stadia, y poco a poco los grandes de la industria del videojuego se han terminado movilizando. Microsoft ya tiene listo Xbox Game Pass Ultimate para Android, y desde hoy podemos jugar en España y otros 21 países más.

¿Quieres saber en qué consiste este servicio? ¿Qué ofrece? ¿Qué necesitas? Te contamos todo lo que debes saber para convertir tu Android, ahora si, en una auténtica consola de videojuegos.

Qué es Xbox Game Pass Ultimate y qué aporta si tienes un móvil de Android

Uno de los enfoques en los que Microsoft lleva años empeñada es en convertir al videojuego en un servicio premium de entretenimiento. Sus andanzas comenzaron con Xbox Live Gold, un servicio que había que pagar en sus consolas para poder jugar con otros usuarios en internet, y poco a poco han ido ampliando las posibilidades. Pagando más, pero ofreciendo mucho más en proporción.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate es la más potente a nivel de contenidos digitales, y es que más allá de los beneficios de Xbox Live Gold incluye un catálogo de juegos que a día de hoy tiene 172 juegos de calidad disponibles para descargar en tu consola o PC. O al menos, esto era hasta ayer.

Sin subir un céntimo, Microsoft ha hecho compatible Game Pass Ultimate con Android, haciendo que puedas jugar a todos estos juegos en tu móvil. No obstante, un móvil no tiene capacidad para ejecutar dichos juegos, por lo que la ejecución de estos se realiza en una Xbox ubicada en un centro de datos remoto. A través de internet, los juegos se muestran en tu consola y puedes jugar en tu móvil, tablet o incluso televisión, estés donde estés.

¿Puedo jugar en mi móvil a todos estos juegos de Xbox incluso si no tengo la consola?

Sí, absolutamente. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate nació como un servicio destinado a consolas Xbox y que más tarde llegó a PC, el cual nos permitía descargar y jugar localmente a todos los títulos del catálogo. Con la reciente incorporación de el juego en la nube, puedes jugar en tu móvil a todos los juegos, incluso si no tienes una Xbox One o un PC gaming. Si que es necesario que tengas una cuenta de Microsoft (las viejas cuentas de hotmail son compatibles, e incluso la que yo utilizo es mi vieja cuenta de msn de hace 20 años).

¿Y qué necesit0?

Imprescindibles:

Un móvil, tablet o Android TV (no soportado oficialmente, pero funciona) con Android 6 o superior.

Buena conexión a internet: Microsoft recomienda Wi-Fi o datos móviles con una velocidad constante mayor a 10 Mbps. Ten en cuenta si juegas con datos móviles que tu tarifa puede beberse varios gigas en cuestión de unas pocas horas de juego.

Descargar la aplicación de Xbox Game Pass:

Google Play.

Samsung Galaxy Store.

Casi imprescindible: Un mando conectado por Bluetooth 4.0 o por cable. Algunos juegos están adaptados para jugar con pantalla táctil, pero son muy pocos.

El mando de Xbox es el recomendado por Microsoft, pero nosotros hemos podido jugar también con mando de Stadia, de 8Btido y de Playstation 4 (oh, la ironía).

¿Cuánto cuesta jugar a Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate es un servicio de suscripción que cuesta 13 euros al mes, que si lo pagas sin descuentos y durante los 12 meses se te quedan en 168 euros al año, un precio ligeramente inferior a comprar unos 3 juegos nuevos al año. El primer mes cuesta 1 euro, para que puedas probar la plataforma con calma y así ver si te gusta lo suficiente como para pagar el servicio. Eso si, considera cancelar toda renovación automática posible.

Como decimos en casa, las suscripciones las carga el diablo. Si bien puedes suscribirte y jugar todo lo que quieras, una vez pase el mes por un euro comenzarán a cobrarte los 13 euros al mes. Si tienes tiempo para jugar y echar decenas de horas es una suscripción que merece la pena mientras tengas títulos, si tienes una vida muy ajetreada quizás no te convenga tanto estar suscrito.

En mi caso particular, como son pocas las épocas del año en las que tengo tiempo para jugar muchas horas, mi estrategia consiste en cancelar la renovación automática y mis datos de pago y comprar tarjetas regalo (disponibles en Amazon inmediatamente y otras tiendas de juegos y códigos) para el mes que sé que tengo tiempo, comprar la tarjeta y simplemente disfrutar.

Since I don’t know your tastes aside from you like Bioware games, I honestly hesitate to recommend any Bethesda game (Fallout/The Elder Scrolls.) If you simply enjoy exploring a large sandbox with some interesting sidequests sprinkled in, you might enjoy it. But the writing is generally not very good, and it’s more about the exploration. Roleplay consequences are very hit or miss. Sometimes your decisions seem to matter in a storyline, other times things that glaringly should matter don’t. And the fact that their games have so many combat mods speaks for itself. So that’s all something to keep in mind. Maybe watch a stream or some YT gameplay to see if it’s something you’d enjoy?

I dunno. I’ve dabbled in multiple Bethesda games, and don’t really have much good to say about them, so I’m probably a bit biased.

What I do recommend...

I, and apparently others XD, have already recommended The Witcher series despite its flaws. They’re definitely in my top games. The roleplay and difficult decisions are excellent and Geralt is a lovable grump. The agonizing decisions. The unforeseen but completely reasonable consequences. Shani. *chef’s kiss*

CrossCode is a hidden indie gem and has to be somewhere in my Top 5, if not Top 3. Like damn. The characters and story are very charming, tho dark at points in later parts. Mute main character, and this persistently has narrative consequences! Emilie is best girl. It’s an RPG but there’s no true RP to be had here, but the gameplay, man. If you like puzzles, we got platforming puzzles, dungeon puzzles, puzzle enemies, puzzle bosses, PUZZLE EVERYTHING. Combat is extremely fluid and makes you feel like an arcade action hero. There are four main skill tree branches, and every single one of them is viable. There is no wrong playstyle. Figure out what you find the most fun and the most effective. You can focus long-range abilities, or hack and slash it, or hybrid. You can survive by defending, by dodging. Really. It’s amazing how well put together the combat is. Some enemies you can just wail on, others you have to figure out their weakness. And the puzzles are so rewarding. Some of them are incredibly difficult, especially the timing puzzles (there are difficulty sliders in the settings if that’s not your jam). Exploration is rewarding because treasure and more puzzles! There’s some really cute NPC dialogue too. It takes place in an MMO and is hilariously self-aware. I love this game so so much, and was really sad when I finished it lol.

Oxenfree is another indie gem. Incredibly atmospheric horror game. It’s hard to say much without spoilers, since it’s entirely narrative driven, and gameplay consists primarily of exploration and dialogue choices (that you often have to make very quickly). It’s got multiple endings. It’s on my list of favorites for sure. My only complains are that they didn’t really pace walking with talking. So if your characters start talking you need to stop moving, or you risk triggering new dialogue over it from exploring. And the other complaint is that it’s quite possible and easy to get the True Ending on your first playthrough. But it’s definitely An Experience.

Alien: Isolation. I don’t think I need to hype it more than it already has been. If you like horror/stealth games, it’s really something lol.

The Talos Principle is another good one if you like puzzles. Very, very solid puzzle game. It’s got a little bit of story and lore sprinkled throughout that I really enjoyed but it’s pretty optional. Though some of the puzzles are hair-tearing-out levels of frustrating XD

Hollow Knight for all your metroidvania needs. Atmospherically dark, but not horror. Lots of atmospheric storytelling and connecting individual storylines to a bigger picture. There’s a lot of lore, and none of it is really handed to you. It’s pretty challenging at times, but fun to play.

I wanna play a new game. Leaning towards Fallout but not sure which one to try. Also open to suggestions, but must be available on PC.

Haha I have played that game actually! It’s pretty good, kind of went under the radar I feel. Not quite Hollow Knight level good but not much is. Another one I’ve tried to play is CrossCode, but I ended up stuck somewhere with no idea what to do... and of course, A Hat in Time, which you should really play if you haven’t. Such a good game and it even has an online mode I’ve been wanting to try out.

I just want games where I can play as girls, but any time i search for it it’s like “BEST FEMALE VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS (hot, sexy)” or something, like I’m sorry but Bayonetta and Zero Suit Samus aren’t good female video game characters they’re eye candy bro. We need more Madelines and Reimus please. If anyone has any game suggestions pls hmu
