Recap: Strangetown Round 5 (Summer) - part 4

Johnny and Ophelia finally move into their new place, along with Ophelia’s puppy, Nyx! They’ve been engaged since last round, and have been hoping to have a nice, quiet wedding here in Strangetown.

Ophelia had been doing occasional work as a private therapist, and she intended to start working in the local hospital, but there weren’t any vacancies, and the household needed money! So she took a job at Shiny Things lab, instead. Apparently their natural science division was understaffed.

As a detective, Johnny’s currently investigating some of their neighbours after recieving an anonymous tip. Rather nasty child experimentation allegations…

Housewarming party!

During this round, Johnny collects statements from Nervous, as well as Testee...

Nyx grows up into a large dog! Cute, too.

The Wedding is just a small ceremony at the chapel with a few family members. Johnny takes Ophelia's last name, to honour her late parents. After all, there are plenty more Smiths to carry on their family name.

Ophelia woke up the morning after the wedding to a suprise! Sooner than they planned, but they're both happy about it. (Ophelia has some anxieties, though.)

Baby Jude is born! He has red hair and dark eyes. Like a little PT9 :')

I didn't actually play Don (since I played him pleanty during the Pleasantview round), but want to quickly note he lives in Strangetown now, too. He popped up as a visitor a few times!

Then it's the Beakers!

The Beakers have two daughters, Calypso & Cruella. Cruella is currently off at Summer Camp, whereas Calypso is due a birthday this season.

(Unoficially) Loki has a third daughter, an alien girl named Testee. After escaping their lab, she was fostered by Lola Curious. She recently agreed to talk to the police about her childhood…

With the house getting full and a more interesting test subject arriving, the Beakers kicked Nervous Subject out long ago

They also found Bella Goth & returned her to her family, making them longtime close friends of the Goth family

Circe owns a magic lamp, and has one wish remaining

Throughout their round, Johnny Smith keeps popping by. Loki is not thrilled!

Circe's worried about it, but plays along with Loki when he tries to reassure her.

A lot of the round is dedicated to Calypso's education. She and her Daddy are very close. She gets into private school and grows up into a fortune sim, with ambitions of becoming a lawyer!

Cassie pays a visit. She's not doing too hot.

Circe makes use of her final genie wish, turning herself into a teenager and fleeing town.

This leaves Loki to take the fall for all their nefarious activity. He's arrested the following morning.

Phew, and that's all! Hopefully the recap being split into so many parts wasn't too obnoxious, haha. I'll probably need to rethink how I format these in future.

I just got back from camp and im gonna start s6 tomorrow but I haven't watched s5 since it came out can you give me a quick recap of the last few episodes? ty

so yk first part of the season:

callum and rayla go to the great bookery in lux aurea for Information, and while there, zubeia gets bitten by a banther corrupted by evil rabies

viren has his own dark magic coma and clauderry are making their way to aaravos' prison

the dragang meets up after ez recieves the location of the prison from the archdragon of the ocean, domina profundis, and they elect to go after the prison (though callum would much rather go to the starscraper and get the novablade [they recap that whole thing for you in s6 dw]), and they do end up getting the location

zubeia's out of commission, so they have to catch a ride, which they end up catching with villads and nyx who is also here. but before that ezran embarks on a sidequest to rescue baby glowtoads from a bitchass pirate/local dictator named finnegrin; finnegrin is not happy about this

the latter part:

after failing to escape from finnegrin, the dragang gets captured. callum is singled out because finnegrin needs to know about a spell (he wants to kill domina profundis they have beef it's a whole thing) and beats the crap out of callum because he refuses, because it's a dark magic spell and he's not a dark mage except for that one time. rayla tries to rebel and so finnegrin magically tortures her, and callum accordingly clocks him square in the face (this is very important to me personally). ol finny's extra pissed now, and seeing how obsessed callum is with rayla he decides to fucking kill rayla about it. so before rayla can get fed to a sea monster, callum does dark magic again so that he can escape and save her. but he also unlocks the ocean arcanum so there's that! they have succeeded but callum is still being emo abt the whole thing

karim, who was exiled for treason, his formerly-possessed-by-aaravos buddy, and the ancient cunty leader of a vampire cult (who is in to repay this magical debt she has to the sunfire roayl family) kidnap janai because they want this magical sun seed that can heal sol regem's eyes bc they want that mf on their side. amaya unleashes her lesbian rage and everything is great EXCEPT that one of janai's generals betrayed her and stole the sun seed and brought it and her army to karim.

claudia and terry have made it to the sea of castout, the location on the prison, at the same time that the dragang does. claudia, callum, ez, and rayla all have it out as the bottom of the ocean which ends with rayla cutting of claudia's leg and them getting the prison---which turns out to be a giant magic pearl.

meanwhile, aaravos informs viren that the homunculus is their child. mpreg old man yaoi viravos is real. anyways the spell they need to save viren requires the blood of his child, so viren has to murder sir sparklepuff. viren decides to have some character development and refuses, swearing to never use dark magic again, even though he'll die.

ps: aaravos graciously informs the audience that the disappearance of sunfire queen aditi, was because he swallowed her. he swallowed her. he did that. anyway

i did not listen to the "quick" part of "quick recap" but i aim to overcompensate.

From #Shinkane to #ShizuAka

This is a long post about my journey from shipping Shinkane (for a long time) but decided to move on to ShizuAka.

Yes, we all know Shinya Kogami and Akane Tsunemori do have special bond. Like mental connection with each other. Soulmates as we call it. Connected by the Red String of Fate (as we call in Japanese).

And most of the characters from PP-verse validates and knows this. Such as Masaoka and his son Ginoza for example. But there are quite a lot of evidence that made us all flap our ears whenever our favorite pair Shinya x Akane is concerned.

Some instances are:

PP Season 1:

Everyone says that it's Kou's infamous scream "Akaneee!" that proves Shinkane exists. But I do believe it was when Masaoka and Kogami shared a drink the night he left the PSB that proves Shinkane almost exist (watch EP. 18 again and know for yourself what do I mean!)

Kogami's letter. That's it. We all know it. The fact that he wrote a hand written note for her, not for Shion, not for Ginoza, not even to his mom! We all know that he value her so much.

Okay, alright... that infamous scream when he shouted for his name!

When he smiled when Akane and her team went on to Makishima's location ahead after learning of Kou's plan (thanks to Akane). He gleamed with pride.

When he didn't immediately run to catch Makishima, but instead carry Akane (bridal style) into safety when they were in a corn field. Or Oat field, I forgot. It shows how much he cared for her.

At this point I think everyone pretty much confirmed they shared a special bond.

PP - The Movie (1st)

When Kou first save her from explosion by shielding with his sexy abs 🤭

When Kou suggested her to stay with him for the night when there's clearly more room with the female locals in the Angkor Wat.

Their silent "I-know-you-care-know-I-care" treatment when Akane has to leave upto the point they were captured by Wong.

Kou wasn't surprised when Akane handed him a cigarette like he expects her to have them.

Don't forget to mention about Wong capturing them two together and plan to frame them just them. Only them. Because he sees them as threat. As if they were an item 🙄

PP - SS3

He's mad when Frederica stayed for the night and he don't know why 🤣.

He's proud of Akane's accomplishment after hearing Frede talks about the success of Div 1 as a team.

His regrets for exacting revenge and hesitations to have Tenzing follow his path mirrors Akane's ideals.

His mention of "He still have things to protect in Japan" (pay attention on that one) because in;

PP - Providence

He tries his best to reconnect with Akane but a case gets in their way.

His willingness to throw himself between her legs just to save her from an explosion almost a mile away from them compare to PP movie explosion.

His classic line "I'll follow you, even if you told me not to".

His protective nature all throughout the movie upto Akane's downfall.

His teary eyes while reading Akane's letter.

His promise to take her out of that place.

That Psycho Pass Recap during PPP promotionals which showcases the Shinkane viewpoint.

PP - S3 & FI

He don't have to pay Akane a visit nor to pick her up from jail because she's no longer his inspector! But he did anyway.

He keeps on saying he trust her and believes in her.

He didn't hurt Arata because he knows he is Akane's ward. Yes it is included.

The Merch

Yes am talking about the #KoAka keychain.

The PPP movie poster where Kou and Akane's faces are in the big picture and the rest are inside their heads!

The fan service stuff and clickbaits for all #Shinkane or #Koaka junkies!

The unforgivable hints of any romantic subplots from radio drama, merch, narrative etc.

My point is, all of them are just a setup to garner more viewership because they know Shinkane fandom is a big bunch!

But in the end, they want to tear us down by breaking our hearts with platonic inclinations between Kou and Akane 😭

The Segue:

Yes they created a segue under the guise of Frederica Hanashiro and Shizuka Homura.

We all know that PsychoPass Producers wanted to go down the path of Shonen Jump-esque plot. Which is why they seen #Shinkane fanbase as a threat. Although they don't want to shun the viewership influence of it.

That's why they create this "icings" (Shinkane sweet moment) as we call it to clickbait us! 😭😞

The Lure:

That's why in PPP Sinners of the System 3 and PPP they wanted to showcase Kogami x Frederica (the KouxFrede touching hand scene), the "Hey Akane don't blame Frederica for Saiga's death", to teach us that Kou is shippable with Frederica (a hot blonde).

Why Shinkane is a strong fan fave?

Because Akane is relatable character.

Because Kogami is a hot mess.

Akane a plain looking girl able to get the impression of Kogami a good-looking bad boy and former ace detective.

We all can easily identify with Akane. Us ordinary girls with strong principles are dreaming of a hot dude like Kogami who has ex-militia skills to swoon us over.

How the writers are tearing the #Shinkane/#KoAka fanbase:

Akane did ask (or even beg) Kogami to come back to Japan (from Season 1 especially the Psycho Pass Gekijōban, but he express no desire.

Only when Frederica, a tall-blonde-gorgeous looking half-brit half-japanese woman was able to bring him back.

They have a flirtateous moment in Sinners of the System part 3 novel during their night conversation.

The Kou x Frede indirect kiss through the bottle Scene.

Kou always standing beside Frederica.

Kou still choose to work in SAD with Frederica eventhough he has a chance to go back to PSB in PPP.

Kou's been treating Akane like trash eversince he gets back:

(1) During his famous balcony call when Akane hangs up. He didn't say sorry but instead let his pride dominate him.

(2) He only visited Akane in Season 3 after 2 years (when he rest his back at the door simply because he felt awkward bending to look at the window of Akane's height.

(3) He only picks her up out of guilt after he reads her hand-written letter.

(4) It was Shizuka Homura who negotiated Akane out of jail not Kogami.

(5) Kogami didn't comforted Akane. Only Ginoza did.

(6) Kogami had the chance to go back for Akane but he didn't. He chose to stay with Frede in S.A.D.

(7) Shinkane is one-sided. Only Akane likes him. But Ko?? No. The novels confirm that.

The Future of Shinkane:

From this point forward we can't expect anything much from this ship. Although as fans, we will keep them into our hearts and be as free as clouds to do more fanfictions out of these two characters because we've been rooting them since day 1.

But I think the writers want to us to move on with Kogami x Frederica and Shizuka x Akane.

With that, eventhough I still ship KoAka/Shinkane, I keep the possibilities open should the writers want to push them to other characters.

My Dime:

At this point I truly wish Akane would die in Kogami's arms and he finally realize he too has feelings for her but it's too late (as Saiga foretold), and he gets back to PSB mentoring new characters. Applying both his ideals to never overlook injustice plus also applying Akane's principles to uphold what is right by being just and fair.

Hi, tumblr. I noticed my account has been getting a LOT of notes from outside sources recently, so it's time to make another.. begging for help post! Some of you have already shot some money my way which has really helped (Thank you for allowing me to go see my partner & feeding me some stuff other than the below-school-lunch tier stuff I get living here sometimes!)

So, to recap my current situation* *As seen in post 18,556! I'm currently homeless, living in a homeless shelter while I wait for a multitude of housing, benefits, and job applications to go through. This obviously is not very fun, and I'll need some help until I can get steady income. I tried to be a little hush-hush about all of this, but as it turns out, I like being able to escape a really aggressive, sad environment sometimes!

All money I receive will be going to:

Toiletries

Food Transportation

Clothing (I.E undergarments like bras...)

and finally

Generally important stuff (Any fees or things I need for my housing!)

Problem Paladin Update

Some of you guys may be familiar with this dude already, but for those who aren't here's a recap. Friend started to DM his first campaign. He got a few friends to play with him. One of the characters I call Problem Paladin because he joined as an Oath of Conquest paladin.

Other party members are life cleric (me), artillerist artificer, Hexblade warlock.

Problem Paladin refused to join the campaign for the first few months. Like, he would sit in on sessions, but no matter what my friend tried to get him to introduce his character, he would refuse to do so saying he wanted it to be a critical moment. Well, PP finally introduces his character during a boss fight... in which PP spends the entire fight sitting back and watching the rest of the party fight because he won't lend his strength to weaklings.

Once he joins the party, it's not much better. He never joins in combat and during non combat scenes, PP is constantly attacking and trying to kill NPCs. Like, people to progress sideplots and major characters for other players' plotlines, if these characters approach the party PP tries to kill them for being "Weak." So for weeks, no one else could progress their story and everyone had to follow PP's objectives. Everytime he is called out on this he's like. "don't blame me. It's just what my character would do!"

This led to us speed running much of the campaign and gunning straight for a major general in the BBEG's army. Even as we were approaching this fight, the DM was like "Yeah. You're not supposed to be here yet. This guy is way over your level. This will pretty much just be a cinematic so we can get back on track."

General does a major show of force. We are expected to back down at this point. PP is like "now THIS is true strength!" and immediately tries to murder the artificer. Artificer and Hexblade immediately retaliate so hard that they melt PP in one turn, and the DM has to step in and do a Deus Ex where the BBEG intervenes to rescue PP.

Well, PP is now (ostensibly?) an NPC in the BBEG army, and the game had to go on hiatus for a month after this. Artificer left the campaign, and PP had to roll a new character. When we reconvene, PP introduces his new character as a mild mannered ranger who is just there to see that the job gets done.

Immediately upon the ranger joining the party, we once again can not proceed with any plot line other than the ranger's. Any attempt to interact with an NPC is met with "THIS IS NOT WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR! I'M NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS! PAY ME FIRST OR FUCK OFF!"

Marathon

Setelah 7 tahun vaccum, entah mengapa dengan sok-sokannya diri ini mencoba 'aktif kembali' di Instagram. Eng ing eng, ternyata hidup memang lebih tentram tanpa Instagram ya hahaha.

Pada intinya adalah, aku merasa kagum dengan track record karir teman-temanku dan kehidupan pribadinya masing-masing (sudah berkeluarga dan memiliki anak). Sedangkan aku? yes, shifting career kembali diumur yang hampir 30 ini, dengan status masih single. Awalnya sih ingin membanding-bandingkan supaya makin dramatis saja pikiran ini, tapi kemudian aku menemukan beberapa foto yang membuatku berhenti sejenak dari semua itu, tahu apa? Ya foto diatas salah satunya, foto ketika aku mengambil sampel untuk penelitian. Jika me-recap kembali 5 tahun kemarin rasanya 'terobati' semua 'penderitaan' pikiran ini hahaha.

Hidupku seru sekali, seperti marathon aku selalu mengibaratkan. Kadang pacenya cepat, kadang melambat, kadang ingin saja menyerah karena satu dan lain hal, kadang ingin terus menyelesaikannya, dan selebihnya hanya ini yang kupikirkan "aku hanya ingin menyelesaikan apa yang sudah kumulai ini". Marathon, timbang dikategorikan sebagai olahraga, aku lebih senang menyebutnya sebagai mind game. You should defeat your negative thought to continue the game.

Ini bukan tulisan menginspirasi, ini seutuhnya tulisan curhatku saja. Sering aku senyam senyum sendiri menertawai masa lalu dan isi pikiran ini. Ah, jadi begini proses bertumbuh? sakit sih tapi silver liningnya aku jadi semakin terampil melihat sebaga sesuatunya dari helicopter viewku sendiri.

Cerita dibalik foto diatas. Foto itu diambil tanggal 1 Juli 2021. Hari terakhir aku sampling tanaman dan tanah untuk penelitianku. Berangkat pukul 04.30. Menempuh perjalanan PP +/- 310 km dari Yogyakarta-Batang (seorang diri) dengan motor merahku. Mengebor tanah (LATOSOL!) kedalaman 0-40 cm dan sampling daun di 3 blok penelitian. Sepanjang sampling pertanyaan yang ditanyakan olah beberapa pekerja panen "Mba, kok wani sendirian di kebun? nda takut kesasat tha?". Sarapan nasi warteg, pulang makan gorengan. Muntah di pom bensin Temanggung. Tidur di pom bensin Magelang. Sampai kosan jam 22.00.

Recap: Strangetown Round 5 (Summer) - part 2

Next up: the Grunt house! Buzz’s girlfriend, Mary-Sue, recently moved in along with her dog, Roux. Buzz’s own dog, Rebel, is a similar breed. Tank moved back here after college, too!

Buck home for the summer right now, but will be off to college soon.

He still feels a little upset about his break up with Delta Land, even though it was a while ago the wound still feels fresh for him… he likes his new girlfriend Beatrice Monty a lot too, probably more than he ever actually liked Delta, but… feelings can be complicated.

Beatrice comes over, bring Ripp Grunt along with her!

Ripp ends up catching up with Tank, who just got promoted to State Assemblyperson.

...While Buck and Beatrice enjoy some privacy.

Mary-Sue has her usual poor luck at work, losing $4000 dollars in investmets, but Buzz more than makes up for it when he brings home $55,000 as a reward for his action-movie-like heroism!

The Grunts are pretty rich these days! Buzz has more than enough money to help Tank with purchasing his own place, once the boy is ready. He hopes Tank finds a nice girl to settle down with, but he’s not holding his breath.

Tank’s had a persistant want to fall in love with Virginia Beech, so invites her out swimming. After seeing his old flame Stella tying the knot, he was starting to think settling down sounded nice. He just needed to find the right girl! Someone loyal, supportive, down to earth, and a good listener. Maybe that could be Virginia? He’d always liked Ginny, but they’d only started spending time together more often recently.

On Virginia’s part, she was slightly regretting going steady with Joshua. Tank was so hot, sooooo her type. And he’d asked her out! Maybe she ought to have been keeping her options open…

Buzz and Buck attempt a bit of father-son bonding.

Mary-Sue finally falls in love with Buzz, and declares it.

The family have one last breakfast together, before it’s time for Buck to head away to college.

He moves to SSU's Landgraab House Dorms, where he's joined by college-aged Chastity Gere & Gabriel Green.

The Grunts are followed by the Curious household - which consists of throuple Lazlo, Erin & Penny and their many children. Pascal and Tycho may have moved out recently, but things at the observatory are as chaotic as ever!

Penny and Lazlo get right to work on brining more chaos to an already-full house.

Erin decides it's time for Bear Beaker to meet his bio-daddy, Darren Dreamer.

Darren’s not happy about having been kept in the dark until now, and he’s not impressed with Erin’s excuses that they were just “super busy”, but, nonetheless, he has another son now. And he’s keen to be more involved in Bear’s life! He’ll have to talk to Brandi about this, though…

Cosmo Curious (Erin & Lazlo) and Street Weiss (Penny & Rhett Hart) both have birthdays!

At the party, Tycho is immediately enamoured with Street's half-sister, Mimi.

Penny has the nerve to give birth to twins, Kepler & Lovelace. (I was fuming about the twins! The family is constantly sleep deprived as it is and I had just finished renovating the nursury to accomodate 3 babies/toddlers, lmao.)

The new nursury is pretty adorable, though.

Bear grows up, too...

‌Week 7:  Digital Citizenship with Slow Fashion

Hey guys, welcome back! Today I will share how digital citizenship can support the slow fashion movement.

First let us recap what digital citizenship is. It can be defined as online behaviours that are ethical. It also emphasizes using digital tools properly and responsibly by not hurting someone online or creating harmful society.

Slow fashion has now become the trend of fashion as it uses recyclable materials and is able to protect the environment. According to Hassan, Yeap, Al-Kumaim (2022), Malaysian consumers are aware of fast fashion’s harms towards the environment and they are more likely to choose eco-friendly clothing options. The transformation from fast fashion to slow fashion can enable consumers to prioritize quality over quantity, thereby fostering a more sustainable fashion market in Malaysia.

Many fashion brands nowadays utilise social media to promote their brand image. Just like Instagram, it has become a powerful marketing tool which includes multiple functions like, Instagram Stories, Reels, IGTV and Ads, which allow brands to showcase their products and deliver messages through compelling visual content (Siregar, Situmorang, Sembiring, 2024). These functions allow the brand to showcase their contribution in slow fashion, such as using sustainable materials, implementing ethical production techniques and recycling initiatives.

As a user that is digitally literate, they can critically evaluate the information they received online. This can help to prevent consumers being greenwashed by those fashion brands, which is a major challenge in the sustainable fashion industry. They can identify how brands are trying to mislead consumers when those brands falsely claim to be environmentally friendly (Naderer, and Opree, 2021). Rather than that, the public can use their voice to expose any unethical practices and support other brands who are genuinely doing sustainable practices. 

To conclude, slow fashion is starting to replace fast fashion, and digital citizenship is important in this transformation. Social media is one of the platforms that allow brands to promote their sustainability efforts, but they can also mislead consumers through greenwashing. Being a responsible digital citizen can help to advocate genuine sustainable practices, and spread awareness about ethical fashion.
