Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo‘s return to television — and the NCIS franchise — now has an exact date. The upcoming spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva, in which the duo reprise their fan-favorite roles from the mothership series, will debut September 4 with three episodes exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and a number of territories. Following the premiere, new episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale October 23.
Paramount+ also has released a key art of NCIS: Tony & Ziva that reflects the series’ pan-European setting. In the offshoot, former NCIS agents Tony (Weatherly) and Ziva (de Pablo) had been raising their daughter in Paris when an attack on Tony’s security company sends them on the run across Europe, trying to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.
Tony & Ziva is the first series in the NCIS franchise not to air on CBS. It is unclear yet whether the show will get a special airing on the network.
“We’re beyond excited to finally share Tony and Ziva’s next chapter with the incredible fans around the world who never stopped believing this day would come,” said de Pablo and Weatherly.
They also teased what is to come in the 10-episode first season. “Returning to these roles together on screen after more than a decade has been an unforgettable journey packed with lies, spies, danger, desire … and self-driving murder cars. (Don’t worry, that last one will make sense soon). This is one wild ride you won’t want to miss, and as they say in Paris: Accrochez-vous bien!“
That translates to “Brace yourself” or “Hold on tight” in English.
Fans have been holding tight while showing their enthusiasm for de Pablo and Weatherly’s reunion, with the teaser trailer for Tony & Ziva amassing 93 million views across broadcast, social and digital in the seven days following its May 5 release.
In addition to de Pablo and Weatherly, NCIS: Tony & Ziva stars Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Lara Rossi, Isla Gie, Nassima Benchicou, Terence Maynard, Julian Ovenden and James D’Arcy. The series is executive produced by John McNamara, who serves as showrunner, de Pablo, Weatherly, Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain, Shelley Meals and Mairzee Almas. Tony & Ziva is produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

‘The Gray House’ Civil War Spy Drama Series From Kevin Costner to Open Monte-Carlo Television Festival “The Gray House,” the Kevin Costner-produced limited series about a female spy ring during the Civil War, will open Monaco’s 63rd annual Monte-Carlo Television Festival in June. The six-episode limited series tells the hidden-history tale of four Southern women — a Virginia socialite and her mother, a formerly enslaved Black woman and a high-end prostitute — who served as key espionage agents for the Union. The foursome are credited as unsung heroes who helped end the nation’s brutal cleavage in 1865. Mary-Louise Parker, Amethyst Davis, Daisy Head and Ben Vereen lead the ensemble cast. Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary produce through their Revelations Entertainment banner alongside Costner’s Territory Pictures and Big Dreams Entertainment from Republic Pictures. Dylan O’Brien Sets ‘Twinless’ With James Sweeney Directing & Starring; Republic Pictures Takes Global On Three Point Capital & David Permut Production

EXCLUSIVE: Dylan O’Brien is set to headline in James Sweeney‘s dark comedy Twinless, which the latter wrote and will also star in. Republic Pictures has taken global rights to the movie. Cameras are currently rolling on the movie in Portland, OR. O’Brien will executive produce.
The pic follows two young men who meet in a twin bereavement support group. An unlikely bromance develops between them. Twinless follow Sweeney’s directorial debut, Straight Up, which notched the filmmaker a Best First Screenplay nom at the 2021 Independent Spirit Awards.
Three Point Capital is financing the film with Ali Jazayeri, David Gendron and Liz Destro also serving as EPs.
Twinless is produced by Academy Award nominated producer David Permut and Permut Presentations (Hacksaw Ridge, Face/Off) whose most recent Netflix movie, Rustin, garnered Colman Domingo a Best Actor Oscar nomination.
Miky Lee (Parasite) Vice Chairwoman of CJ and who most recently executive produced the Oscar nominated film Past Lives, serves as EP.
Permut Presentations Director Of Development Alex Astrachan co-produces.
Permut said, “I was absolutely knocked out by James’ first film Straight Up and was determined to work with him. I immediately responded to the originality and provocative concept of Twinless. The dark comedy depicts complex characters in such an irreverent, emotional and hysterical way. The chemistry between Dylan, who portrays the role of identical twin brothers, opposite James’ character is absolutely combustible.”
O’Brien’s most recent film is the independent feature Ponyboi, in which he plays a villainous pimp and small-time drug dealer, recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He will next be seen in the upcoming films SNL 1975 (from director Jason Reitman) as Dan Aykroyd, Caddo Lake (from the writing-directing team of Logan George and Celine Held, and producer M. Night Shyamalan), and Anniversary (a thriller co-starring Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, Zoey Deutch and Phoebe Dynevor). The $1.7 billion grossing star is well-known to audiences from his work in The Maze Runner franchise, as well as the hit MTV series Teen Wolf.
Permut also recently produced the Paramount+ series hit, Lawman: Bass Reeves from Taylor Sheridan, which stars SAG nominee David Oyelowo. His upcoming high priority slate includes Being Heumann written and directed by Academy Award winner Sian Heder (CODA) at Apple, Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris’ (Little Miss Sunshine) film The Invite, and Face/Off II at Paramount, the sequel to Permut’s 1997 hit film, to be directed by Adam Wingard.

CBS Studios today announced new eight-part historical drama series King and Conqueror starring James Norton as Harold, Earl of Wessex and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as William, Duke of Normandy.
"King and Conqueror will bring Harold and William to life, depicting their lives, loves and families, and the gripping, high stakes power game that led to their fateful meeting in 1066," said Sue Deeks, Head of BBC Programme Acquisition.
Written by Michael Robert Johnson and with the opening episode directed by Baltasar Kormákur, King and Conqueror will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
James Norton will also executive produce through his production company, Rabbit Track Pictures and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will direct an episode and also serves as executive producer. Filming is set to take place in Iceland next year. The series is produced by TDP Development Partnership, Rabbit Track Pictures, Shepherd Content and CBS Studios in association with the BBC. Icelandic production services will be provided by RVK Studios.
The BBC has acquired broadcasting rights for the series in the United Kingdom and it will be distributed outside of the UK by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Christian Ochoa Lavernia (Silo) is set as a series regular and Clayne Crawford (Chad Powers), Keanush Tafreshi (V/H/S/99), Medalion Rahimi (Hacks), Raza Jaffrey (Homeland) and Tessa Ferrer (Swagger) will recur in Season 2 of The Agency: Central Intelligence (fka The Agency) for Paramount+ with Showtime. The title, The Agency: Central Intelligence reflects the focus of the second season.
They join series lead Michael Fassbender, along with Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston, Harriet Sansom Harris, John Magaro, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Andrew Brooke, India Fowler, Reza Brojerdi, Alex Reznik and Richard Gere.
Production on Season 2 is currently underway in London.
Based on the French series Le Bureau des Legendes, The Agency follows Martian (Fassbender). a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.
Ochoa Lavernia will play Grandma, undercover agent with Grandpa.
Crawford portrays Viking, wanted by the CIA in connection with a dangerous military group.
Rahimi is Darya, niece of a powerful Mullah and Hassan Zamani’s girlfriend.
Jaffrey plays Craig, data analyst on the Iran Desk. 
Ferrer portrays Robyn, US Air Force nurse in Suffolk, England.
Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari, Edge of Tomorrow) return as writers and executive producers.

Paramount’s upcoming action-packed show “NCIS: Tony & Ziva” will have issues of trust at its core, stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo said at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, where the “NCIS” franchise is celebrating reaching 1,000 episodes.
The series, set to stream on Paramount+, focuses on their “NCIS” characters, Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, after they have left the agency, and are bringing up their daughter, Tali, in Paris. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so that they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.
In “NCIS,” Ziva was thought to have died, and Tony left the team to go raise Tali. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive. How did that affect her relationship with Tony and Tali?
Speaking at a Monte-Carlo press event Saturday, De Pablo explained they had joked that the title for the show should be “NCIS: Trust No One.” “I think the idea of trust, and the idea of how this relationship moves forward is something that was intriguing to us as actors,” she added. “We’re trying to address the idea of trust and we’re trying to address how they move forward parenting together with this child and trying to make things work and having a lot of challenges thrown at them.”
Weatherly added that for Tali what happened with her mom would be tough to accept. “When you think about Tali, who is really the third character in ‘Tony & Ziva,’ the idea for her to think that her mother was dead, and then her mother is alive, but was running around the world and didn’t come home to protect her … Trust doesn’t mean truth, doesn’t mean honesty. Just because I’m telling you the truth doesn’t mean you can trust me. And I think that a lot of the relationships inside … I won’t give away anything […] You have a daughter who’s going to question the story. ‘No dad – you told me she was dead, and she just walked through the door.’ ‘Yeah, but your mom had reasons …’ ‘No, no, no. The facts are the facts.’
“And then what are your relationships like? Where do you stand with the truth? And who do you trust? I mean, these are like the core principles of the show.”
De Pablo and Weatherly will serve as executive producers on the show, which reunites them on screen for the first time in 10 years. John McNamara (“Trumbo,” “The Magicians”) wrote the premiere episode and will serve as showrunner and an executive producer, alongside Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain and Shelley Meals. The series will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
The show, which has received a 10-episode order, will be shot in Europe later this year. “Tony and Ziva live in Paris, and we will be shooting in Budapest, because the Olympics are in Paris right now and that would be complicated,” Weatherly said. “But the show will have a lot of international locations that we will reveal later, and international casting that is going to be absolutely stellar. We’re a part of that as executive producers.”
Shooting outside the U.S. was always a priority for the pair, even though they thought the studio would want it to be set in the States, Chicago for example. “At the beginning, I was very adamant about that, like, ‘No, I’m not interested if that’s where they want to go,'” De Pablo said. “I really think the show should be taken out of the United States. It would separate us from the agency, and it would give us a chance to sort of reinvent it in a completely different way, from a different standpoint.”
Weatherly said it took the studio a while to come around to the idea. “It took some time to get them completely there because it is such a departure. It’s streaming. It’s not an evergreen procedural. It’s not structured the same way. Will the audience show up for that? Are we shooting out of our weight class here with a different kind of story? Is it not going to feel like the other show? All of those troubles. And John is not from the ‘NCIS’ universe. So we’re introducing a new voice. And I think those things that might a few years ago have been to our detriment became assets when people started really understanding streaming, and really understanding Paramount+ as a platform.”
He explained that viewers who discover “Tony & Ziva” will then be able to explore the 1,000 episodes in the “NCIS” universe, which encompasses the mothership as well as spinoffs like “NCIS: Sydney,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: Hawai’i” and “NCIS: New Orleans.”
He added: “I think that we’re going to be bringing people into a world that might feel small, because it’s just Tony, Tali and Ziva. But it’s Europe. It’s love. It’s the universe. And we have to save those things.”
Talking about their relationship, De Pablo said: “You know what I’ve always said about working with Michael is it’s always refreshingly unpredictable. I think he also likes my … you know, the fact that I love to play. Even though sometimes I come across as very, sort of, put together, my favourite thing is to go into kid land and play. I think we relate on that level. We are both, at our core, kids. We love playing. I respect the boundaries and the structure of that. He has a tougher time with the structure and the boundaries. But at the end of the day, we both like to play.”

“Lioness” Season 2 reached a total of 8.3 million domestic households, a 10% increase compared to Season 1’s 7.6 million, TheWrap has exclusively learned. On the social side, the series generated 5 million engagements during its second season, up 177% compared to Season 1.
The spy thriller, which comes from Taylor Sheridan, MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, ranks in the top three Paramount+ originals for 2024, behind “Landman” Season 1 and “Tulsa King” Season 2.
The latest viewership milestone for “Lioness” Season 2 comes after the show was seen by 3 million domestic households in its first seven days. The season premiere drove 12.4 million views globally across all platforms.
“Lioness” follows an elite group of CIA operatives who are all involved in the Lioness program, which specially trained women agents. Season 1 chronicled the harrowing and love-torn journey of Sgt. Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), who ultimately left the program.
Season 2 focuses on Joe (Zoe Saldaña), who puts her life on the line going into the field and desperately searches for her next Lioness operative. Joe also has to balance her family life and raising two daughters who don’t fully understand why their mother is rarely around.
In addition to Saldaña and De Oliveira, the series stars Genesis Rodriguez and Emmy Award-nominee Michael Kelly along with Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, Oscar and Emmy winner Nicole Kidman, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill and Hannah Love Lanier.
