"You know, I'm something of a dancer myself..."
So Midnight Ride by Orville Peck and Kylie Minogue has been stuck in my head all day and I also coincidentally stumbled upon this dance by Orbitalcatnip earlier and he does look good in his MCH gear so... I knew what I had to do.
Yee-haw catboy!
#Final Fantasy XIV#FFXIV#X'vahl Tia#miqo'te#male miqo'te#I don't even know wtf else to tag this tbh#excuse the shoddy camera work I was trying to get more than just a static front view of him dancing#and I never learned how to properly install the plugin that can control camera angles (despite trying OTL)#so that's just me rotating him like a microwave burrito lmao#He doesn't actually sound like Orville Peck in my head#but the voice fits him surprisingly well.#He uhhhh.. *can* canonically move his hips like that tho.

love my fellow gifmakers so much but i do wish they'd stop spreading photoshop propaganda. you don't need photoshop to make nice hq gifs, all you need is ffmpeg, gifski, and literally any photo editing software of your choice so long as it allows batch editing. free yourselves from the adobe industrial complex
#foss >>>>> pirated paid software#piracy means you are a) taking a big risk installing it in the first place b) sacrificing tech support and updates & c) fucked if it breaks#FOSS means you get regular updates and support and your program is gonna be a lot more stable and reliable to use#open source is optional (just nice because it opens additional support avenues) but just using free software is the way to go imo#ive tried photopea it's not bad but it is very very slow if u have a lot of layers (unsurprisingly considering it runs in a browser lmao)#but imo? nothing beats gimp#you can use any of the million plugins out there and you can also add photoshop plugins#it can do anything that PS can do it just might use different buttons for it#and it is FOSS always <3#never gonna pay a subscription fee for gimp ever#bri babbles

the more i'm forced to use chromium browsers elsewhere, the more i appreciate that you can just fucking directly edit a stylesheet in firefox's developer console and watch the page morph along with it. what do you mean i can turn certain rules on and off but can't edit them directly in chromium-based shit. shut the fuck up and make your shit in firefox next time.
#this post was brought to you by me installing betterdiscord in response to the new discord ui#installing a plugin that let me open the developer's console and thereby discovering that discord is basically just#an extremely specialized chromium client and therefore supremely annoying to style edit on the fly#the worm speaks

I'm almost always very cautious when downloading anything or clicking almost any link, if anything I'm probably too anxious about it
But then the second it's any utau files that someone recommends, I'll instantly trust the most sketchy looking dropbox site and then unzip a random folder called "plugin.zip" that was uploaded 14 years ago without any fear
(in my own defence even the official utau software stuff looks like it hasn't been updated since speaking in catlol was a thing)
#oh an email from my boss?#must be a virus because I dont trust the link#oh a stranger's google doc with a download in it for a VCV plugin?#better install that without a second thought#utau#utauloid#moth yapping

it's been nearly a whole day but i'm still thinking abt how somehow i've been running morrowind from my integrated card even though i told windows to use my dedicated. and it was just bc i thought, "hm, weird that my framerate tanks this hard in the bitter coast and in balmora" and saw someone say on reddit that 99% of cases it's the laptop not correctly using the right graphics card. i would never have guessed bc performance was never THAT BAD and now i'm wondering if it's been like this all these years and it's going to keep me up at night in the foreseeable future lmfao
#cat.txt#i finally started nammu's run fr!! added a buncha more mods#removed the official plugins bc fuck those#immersion mods my beloveds#mayhap this is the install where i finally create my nasty man (mer) dunmer#that said the game runs smoother than butter now

omg how do you animate so smoothly?? may I ask do you use a specific program or do you redraw the same thing 100 times? either way please take your crown you deserve it 👑✨
Ateehee thank u ✨ *chews on the crown*
No redrawing (usually), I use a process that involves tweening and puppet animation/rigging. I use programs like Adobe After Effects and Spine for this, but I believe Adobe Animate, Toon Boom, and Live2D have them too.
Tweening is when you specify an asset moves from point A to point B, and the program creates all the frames in between for you.
Puppet animation is when you draw a character and then manipulate the art to have movement. It's just one drawing, but you can, for example, rotate the arm at the elbow like a hinge.
Hope this helps, and thank u for the nice words 💕
#people who use after effects usually install the duik plugin but heehee i do not do that#not that it's bad i just never got around to it. it works basically like spine#ask

I have plugins installed to keep my dash looking like the old dash (I absolutely cannot handle that much noise, I also have a twitter extension that collapses all that crap too) and now my dash can mysteriously scroll quite a ways to the right....
I wonder what new horrors await...
#I also wonder if staff takes people like me into account#like I haven't snoozed tumblr live in a long time#because I have blocked the script so I literally never see it#can they tell? do they know?#but to be fair installing blockers and plugins and scripts isn't something a lot of people do#at least I don't think so...
