I forgot to ask, what is the gremlin children au of the fruitverse

HI THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME AN EXCUSE TO YELL ABOUT THEM

So the gremlin children AU is a version of the Fruitverse where, through various shenanigans, Cherry and Lime ended up adopting several kid versions of various spirit pairs. The normal versions of their AUs also exist, and they have met some of them.

Originally, it was just DS Nightmare and DS Dream. Dream was also a corrupt because normal, adult Obsidian and Jet appeared in their AU and decided that whether they were in the past or another MV, they wanted to see what happened if they messed things up.

Surprisingly, Nightmare and Dream weren’t very thrilled when Cherry showed up pretty soon after that. But he felt so bad for these kids and they clearly needed help, so he called Lime, and together they convinced the kids that

1. They’re not Jet and Obsidian

2. They want to help

3. you two really should have adults to take care of you anyways

So they came back to the Fruitverse manor. Very sweet, lots of familial fluff.

I don’t actually remember if they already knew each other or not, but eventually normal DS Dream and DS Nightmare appear. One of the good endings happened, though I don’t remember which anymore, so Dream didn’t really care about the three corrupts. he is quite concerned that one of them is a kid tho. And very pissed when little Dream tells him what happened, because he’s dealt with The Bastards before

But anyway the gremlin children adore their adult alternates. They end up calling them Uncle Moon (Nightmare) and Uncle Radiant (Dream). Very sweet

Eventually, Cherry and Lime find kid versions of Jade, Obsidian, Jet, and Dark, and adopt them. Obsidian and Jet have an especially rocky start, between how little they trust people and the fact that Dream and Nightmare absolutely do NOT like them at first, but they give the kid Jet and Obsidian a chance. It’s not like they had anything to do with what happened.

Sometime after the newer four settle in, Cherry and Lime find kid versions of Biotite, Emerald, Ebony, and Void. Biotite and Ebony have just as much trouble relaxing as Obsidian and Jet did, but for different reasons (trust people much much less; Dream and Nightmare aren’t nearly as wary of them tho)

The kids are alright, now that they have a bunch of adults who love them dearly and take care of them. Obsidian and Biotite frequently challenge each other to do something better, faster, etc. Apricot and Lemon are bad influences on their kid alts and Jade, Dark, Void, Emerald, and Nightmare are the most chaotic little shits and get into all sorts of trouble.

Ebony and Jet are mischievous, too, but they’re much calmer

Dream’s the only one of them who doesn’t keep trying to get into trouble, aside from him almost breaking his bones trying to figure out how his wings work.

At one point, Wheeze and I added pretty much all of our JMV/DINTIS AUs (excluding the Fellverse and the Ironverse), but in the main timeline is just those guys. Also I don’t think they all actually existed at once; just the main 6 and one other set of 4

There’s one AU of this, but However Holy is a clusterfuck (affectionate) so I’ll just tell you that Cherry and Lime are demons and the kids are all various types of nature spirits (nymphs and dryads and such). I think they adopted a few random human kids, too, but I don’t remember if it was anyone in particular or just ‘yeah they just keep collecting kids like pokemon’ and never went into it

But yeah no the kids are having a great time now. Cherry and Lime love them all and their only regret is that now the other adults are teasing them about picking up strays every other time they leave the house.

A lot of the JMV pairs in particular had some conflict between them when they arrived, and that conflict normally would eventually lead to…all the shit in the normal AUs when they’re adults. But the Fruitverse fools, and the other kids, help them work through it. And their relationships are stronger for it

Manganese gets into fights fairly often, so he's not a complete pushover. His soul's still screwed up, though, which puts him at a huge disadvantage.

Gonzalo, Lear, and Corrupt Ollie only have about half the apple power that everyone in tier 4 and up has, but Gonzalo has eldritch bullshit on his side that enhances his strength slightly.

Neither Ro nor Melanite are used to fighting, and Ro avoids it at all costs.

Most likely to win if they all started fighting (factoring in speed, dexterity, and trickiness):

Additional notes:

Basalt, Shrike, Biotite, and Obsidian fight dirty, but that's not a surprise.

Basalt is unpredictable and doesn't fuck around trying to show off or scare his opponents like some of the others (LEAR. GONZALO. Also Obsidian and Biotite but Lear and Gonzalo especially)

Shrike, Manganese, Gonzalo, and Lear will let the others beat the shit out of each other, and intentionally cause them to hit someone else, to save their own energy. Basalt does too, but not to the same extent.

The previous point is why uncorrupted Ollie and Manganese are tied.

Cherry doesn't want to fight. Neither does Melanite, though Melanite can't really fight at all

Shrike relies more on speed and dexterity than most of his alternates do.

Gonzalo's more likely to win if Petruccio is missing or has been injured by one of the others.

if obsidian saw his place on this list he'd be soooooo mad

Of course, if the ones lower down on the list gang up on some of the ones higher up, that may change. But that's why it's 'most likely' and not an absolute.

Despite his avoidance, Ro's acid is quite potent, and it gets a little boost from surrounding negativity. He could very easily incapacitate or kill the others if they provoke or scare him enough.

Most likely to win if they all started fighting, with no magic:

Tantalite

Biotite

Shrike and Obsidian

Gonzalo

Lear

Additional notes:

you do not, under any circumstances, want to fight Basalt.

For all the corrupts and radiants, their magic gives them a strength boost. Oleander without his corrupt magic is just normal Oleander. Same with Ro

Shrike is faster and trickier, but Obsidian also is still strong enough to bash your skull open given a solid surface to slam your head into. Who wins between the two entirely depends on the setting.

Cherry and Ollie don't particularly want to fight, but Ollie's more practiced so he wins over Cherry

Gonzalo and Lear have knives, and Gonzalo's just as unpredictable as Basalt; especially as he gets more worked up.

ro baby i love you but you can't fight for shit

In both cases, Gonzalo and Lear's chances of winning go up exponentially if Petruccio and Puck are there backing them up. Similarly, Gonzalo and Petruccio are even more likely to win over Lear and Puck than Gonzalo if it's just Gonzalo and Lear. The DU boys pretty much always know exactly what the other's going to do.

Jet Alts

note: the jet alts in both theater kid AUs technically aren't their own unique alts. they were just thrown into a different version of JMV. For that reason, I won't differentiate between Jet and Nyx, or Astra and Deimos.

Embraer may be only a negative spirit, but he's done more fighting than some of his alternates, and has been preparing to fight a full corrupt for years.

Additional notes:

Lime is fairly powerful, but he would probably just dip if fighting broke out. He's more practiced in fighting that Gecko is, though, so if pressed...

Astra's trickiness and Rayonnant's strong preference for brute force make it hard to tell who'd come out on top. Depends on the setting.

Gecko may know how to fight, but I don't think he'll do great against the four bastards. Fortunately the rest (save alkaline, if they don't already know each other) are probably happy to team up with him and keep him from getting killed.

Sable and Alkaline aren't strangers to fighting, but like with Manganese, Alkaline is a little more used to getting into fights.

Alkaline fights just as dirty as Rayonnant, but he's not quite as strong. Jet could probably take him out if he's careful, but it'd be pretty close.

With everyone else significantly weakened, Embraer now has the upper hand. Several others are still much stronger and trickier than him, but he's not quite so screwed.

Viper Quickstrike

Presently, both his childhood friend and his spouse think he’s dead. But he’s alive and kicking!

Here he is in his pre-incident outfit and his present-day On The Run outfit. He wasn’t always on the run. He actually got to settle down for a while, as he tried to figure out how to get back to his MV and make sure Embraer was okay (and let him know that Viper isn’t dead)

The leader of the resistance. he's still a snarky and sarcastic little shit, but he's a good guy.

colored contacts do not stop eyes from glowing, but they do help conceal his identity. If his eyes didn't glow he probably wouldn't have bothered, but glowing eyes under a dark hood stands out quite a bit. naturally he chose his favorite color which just so happens to be teal but that doesn't mean anything i swear. (Joke; if you know Jet, you know where the idea came from)

Neither he nor Viper ate the apples. 

he very much prefers to use physical knives rather than his magic ones for anonymity reasons.

he's obviously a spirit, too, but he absolutely does not share the fact that he's the guardian of negativity in his MV. he's had enough trouble getting people to trust him as it is. That said, his most trusted probably do know.

Monochrome and Pallasite knows that there's someone heading the resistance, and that they're not human, but that doesn't narrow it down. At all. They presently have no reason to suspect it's a spirit; nevermind one that Pallasite's met before
