Progress Update: 10/04/2023

Hello guy! Been a long time since I've done one of these or posted anything of substance (sorry) -- but I've decided I need to start doing these again. I'm hoping if I can set aside more time for TLH, Metanoia, Hollow, and a mysterious third thing, I'll be able to get updates out more frequently. So, I might have an update for you (which is good news!) but it's not chapter two (which is bad news...).

Chapter Two needs to be re-planned (but don't worry, it wasn't all scrapped!). I decided mid-way that I wasn't happy with the direction of it, and things in the game were happening too fast for my tastes. Don't worry though, I'll try to keep you guys posted as I progress through Chapter Two. I've also been juggling the idea of having a Patreon where I can post extra content and stream art and coding for my games. While I do have one made, it isn't published, and I don't want to post the link without having anything worthwhile to share. I've figured out all the details for it and will let you know what I've decided once there's a bit more to Chapter Two and Hollow.

Now then, the update!

I've essentially gone through and further fleshed out or removed some scenes that I felt hindered the story and/or prevented me from springboarding off of it properly into the chunk that needs to be written.

I know right now TLH is kinda of a 'Collection Simulator' where you can pick up a lot of things, but I promise it'll make sense later. Everything you collect, you collect for a reason and there are consequences to what you haven't taken and what you have. Chapter Two will show this and I hope you enjoy the 'little' interaction that comes from it!

I want to be super transparent and let you guys know that I haven't had a lot of time the last year for writing, and stress + depression made it hard to work on TLH. I wasn't enjoying it for a long time, but now I'm determined to really push forward because I do love TLH and I want to share it with people. I'm sorry again for how much I dropped the ball with updates and keeping you guys posted but I promise to try better from here on out.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck around so far and/or has expressed interest in my silly little game! It means the world to me and more! I hope to see you guys again soon, maybe by the end of this month (Halloween Update?!) with a small update as an apology!

I love your tlh/hoo rewrite fic so much! I've been reading it everytime it updates. The way you wrote everyone and the events that happen are SO intruiging and remind me of some of the best fic aspects I've read before all in one. Soleo/soldez in the fic and the art are really great too ive really come to love the pairing. What you guys have done with the conflict within the camp since the war, silena and beckendorfs deaths, with the losttrio and progression of the story along with the mystery of where thalia and annabeth have gone is amazing, keep up the great work!!

Demons and Demigods Background!

Some warnings/preface before I get into the actual au: I have a potty mouth and therefore so do the characters. I love using the fuck word.

As the blog title states, I do put the characters through The Horrors arguably worse than canon. So. Please keep that in mind, also I am a big fan of dark!percy and making demigods a little eldritched (mostly percy tho) so expect a lot of morally gray (at the very least) actions on Percy's part and violence and gore more spn canon level than pjo canon level

Also, I do fuck around with timelines as I wish even if it doesn't make much sense bc I am the god of this world and Chuck's got nothing on me 😈

I make a number of changes to how spn s1 plays out and also smush the entirety of spn seasons 1 , 2, and most of 3 into the ~8-10 months during which hoo takes place. Like I said, I fuck severely with the timelines.

This au starts in the time between tlo and tlh where Percy has just gone missing, and picks up right after the pilot for spn

I haven't made it that far yet, but this au will be Destiel bc I'm down bad <3

Anyway,

Sally is Mary's younger sister. They were always close growing up, and both decided to quit hunting.

Percy is six years younger than Sam! (Sam is 22 in the pilot, and Percy is 16 when he goes missing.)

Percy disappears and Annabeth tells Sally that he's missing right after Jess dies. Oops. (Yes, I know the timelines don't match up but I don't care <3)

Everything else I'll get too into, so I'll post the rest of the set up separately!

I have some scenes fully written for this au and a lot of hand-wavey transition shit written down, too.

I'll work on getting what I've got so far posted over the next couple of days!

As I get stuff posted, I'll tag all fully written scenes with #dndv scenes and anything involving world-building or any kind of lore will be tagged with #dndv lore ! Hi! Yes, unfortunately Daisy (the whole The Last Flowers series, to be honest) is still work in progress; the reason why is, pretty simply, that real life got in the way, and the few times I was able to write I preferred dedicating myself to my other projects. But I didn't abandon those works, and I'll certainly go back to them sooner or later.

If you don't mind, what did you like about those stories, if you've already read them?

d-296 🩷 day 252 ☑ i finished seams like murder. read chapters 12-20. i enjoyed it for the most part and i'll continue on in the series. i didn't really have any annoyance regarding anything in the book, but i also didn't really like anyone either. i'm interested in further character dynamics though. 🌸curly isn't back still. read chapter 40 of aoaag. still slow going. i think that's key though because when i start new books, i'll still be working on this one and my brain is thinking it's a good thing because i'll be furthering progress on this while beginning new books and then the cycle repeats. 🌸finished chapter 1 of dare to au pair even though i technically started yesterday. giving myself grace with not having to complete chapters in order to log progress. it seems like something i'll enjoy so far. 🌸read from 47-93 of the mandarins (46 pages). it's fairly easy to get through and we've already switched a pov. i haven't read the description yet so idek where the story will take me lol. 🌸will either start bold love or convenience store woman tomorrow. currently reading more of tlh and i'll update if i make any more progress tonight. it's really gearing up to a high rating though 🥹🩷 🌸i did end up reading chapters 10-13 of tlh and they're so cute :-((((( i want to live in this story for a while ugh. i want to keep reading but i don't want to rush through it. my pacing for this book is perfect tbh.

Eek sorry for the abrupt absence/late update!! Things got topsy-turvy irl but things have calmed for now -- I didn't right much this last week but I'm going to try and get an update out soon!! Worst case scenario, if life continues to fling crap at me, you'll get a bigger one on the 28th of this month!!

Either way, good chunk of Greta's update is done ✅! I just need to wrap up some places that I skipped over and link up the ending for the alt version of chapter 2's intro!!

I've also been taking breaks to tweak the superior version of TLH (the twine version with hope) -- and I've gotten a good chunk of the intro done. Otherwise, we're rushing quickly on to chapter 2 in full once Greta is finished!! I hope you enjoy the little bits you've seen of Finlay, you're going to be spending a LOT of time with them soon... Good luck...! :)

PROGRESS UPDATE: 12/01/2023

Well, here we are, nearing the end of the road for Chapter One. I've just finished tweaking Lesilfae's section and am now in the home stretch for the lead up to Chapter Two (give or take two spots that need coding tweaks). Finally, after forever and a half of fighting with TLH for progress, I've done it.

Like I said before, you won't be getting the entirety of Chapter Two but rather a small snippet to read. It has a few branches that take place so it's taking much longer to get through unfortunately. However, with my Patreon now set up and in place, of anyone would like more frequent updates to TLH you can sub to a low tier and get a monthly update to the alpha demo alongside other misc goods.

But!! The word count has to strayed much from the original once I started to cut things down and reorganize different sections. That's a bit of a bummer, but there is an expanded Greta path and you get to spend a little more time with Gale and Hollond, hehe! So even though the word count hasn't grown much, it's still got quite a bit of new content and tweaked scenes. One of which you'll notice at the beginning of Chapter One!

Also, reconsidering my port options for TLH -- really liking the way coding in Renpy feels. Obv, it won't be a visual novel but... Maybe we can have a few graphics. As a treat. If I choose Renpy. Twine has been frustrating me to no end, something about it doesn't jive with me but we shall see!!

Also, I know, I know... "Clam, you keep talking about moving TLH but you never do", and in my defense, Learning Hard. Not super hard but like, my attention span is crap, so it takes me way too long... But I digress. I'm not completely all talk haha!!

HEY! HOWDY!

I know I promised this back on Halloween but I, uh, got swamped with some other things that sadly took priority. Because of that I wasn't able to get as much writing/editing done, but there //is// 10k words of edited content in Chapter One. Which isn't as much as I'd hoped but better than nothing!

So, I've still got the adult exploration scene to finish, alongside the breakfast with Holly and Gale to finish plus, perhaps, a secret third thing that wasn't in the previous demo (but we'll have to see)!

I've also been spending some time drawing updated versions of the TLH characters -- you can see someone down below. Who is it, I wonder??? Hehe!! And, as an added bonus (because Hollow is coming along p well but not enough to post a progress update on its tumblr), a little background from Hollow that's in the works! It's the convenience store, where quite a bit of the story takes place! I'm pretty proud of how it's turning out! (you can see them under the read more~!)

Progress Update: 10/27/2023

Hello everyone! I'm back with another progress update (wow! two in one month...) and boy do I have some news for you! I've spent the last month tweaking chapter one and sadly, I'm only about halfway done. Turns out there was more to the chapter that I didn't like than I had previously thought -- ON THE OTHER HAND; the new word count of chapter one is about 18k words and counting. I just wrapped up the first Hollond and Galeon interaction and I'm now moving on to the adult version of that plus the exploration branch. Since that one is longer, it probably won't be ready by Halloween/the end of this month. I'm also going to lose about eight hours of editing time working at an event for my job.

It's not a huge deal but... it's still lost time and I'm bummed about it. Now, because there's still so much to do and I'm about 1/3 of the way through edits...

EDIT: leaving the poll up until it's over -- but i already know what's winning so I'll make a update post in a little bit. <3

Small Progress Update

Summer Reading has started at my job and that means more hours and more pay but less writing until the end of August. This means, that my initial plan to power through the next update and post it at the end of summer has quickly fallen through. I have to put TLH on a mini-hiatus until the end of summer and hopefully produce an update before the year is done.

HOWEVER that does NOT mean that I won't be working on it. I just won't be making strides or hitting my goals as soon as I'd hoped.

I hope you all can forgive me for how long it takes me to update TLH -- I promise the update will be worth it (or, at least, I hope it will be). I'll still be hanging around and reblogging inspo stuff, just... not as often.

not so progress updated

Working on porting TLH to twine (mid-way finished with the adult/young adult prologue) and writing Greta's update.

Greta's update (young adult) consists of "are we going on a date? we're dating now right? I'm your girlfriend? You'll want for nothing if you date me!!! Hey, mc~! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! He--" and then all hell breaks loose lol

I mean, I could ramble about TLH some more of you want?? But you're still gonna see me reblog stuff about Palestine and the Congo. I have a platform that reaches lots of people, I'd be stupid if I didn't use that to show the injustice that's happening. And you'll get the update when it's done. I have very little time during the week to write, but I'm hoping to push out the update soon (read: next month or even sooner). It won't be the full Chapter Two but it will contain parts of it probably. It's easier to just give you everything that I have as things progress.

Okay, here's a list of fixes that were made! Squashed a whole bunch of bugs (thank you to everyone who found them)! TLH is a mess but at least she's consistent adasdsa! <3

Fixed child!mc cursing upon waking up on the second day (for shame mc and thank you to @/hypr-nova for finding this! mwah!!)

Fixed wayward livingroom label so it actually progresses

Fixed errors 601, 18, 555, 549, 1740, 1755, 1729, and 1449

Fixed the update graphic because my ocd noticed something on it that made it angry

Fixed some spelling mistakes

Fixed broken save slots (my bad -- ChoicescriptIDE doesn't like the save slot command when trying to playthrough *shakes fist at the sky*) (thank you to snowthornes! mwah! mwah!)

Progress Update: 9/4/24

Time flies when you're having fun -- supposedly. Can't say I've been having fun but time //is// flying so. Hm! Anyways! I wanted to give an end-of-the-month update on TLH!

TLH Chapter Two is currently sitting at roughly 1.5k words. It's much less than I would like, but I must remember that I scrapped some scenes and laid out plans for branching with the second version. I'm aiming for 12k minimum for this update, specifically, for the first chunk of Chapter Two (plus a minor addition to Greta's ending and tweaks to the previous Chapter Two sneak peek). Chapter Two: Chunk One will consist of two separate sections, one picking up where Gale and Hollond's ended and the other where Greta ended. Greta will also have a split branch to make up for a lack of choices in her update (probably). After that, four branches for the bulk of Chapter Two will lead to different scenarios. Obviously, this update is gonna be a hefty one so please bear with me while I try to maneuver irl stuff and writing, haha!! RIP to my once-a-month schedule, you were great while you lasted (2 months). I'll also be posting some lore posts on Patreon once I get them finished -- they will NOT be locked behind a paywall. However, I will be trying to be more active on there hopefully, so keep an eye out for that! Anyways!! That's all for now!! Small Progress Update

Chapter One (1) is almost done!! I just need to do a final pass to tweak wording and flow, then finish one small route variation, and then it’s done (give or take balancing tweaks)! I hope to push the update out before the end of this month, but we’ll see, and then move on to finishing plotting Chapter Two (2) (which is already 1/3ish of the way plotted). 

As of right now, Chapter One’s word count is 23.5k -- though ChoiceScript seems unhappy about that fact and keeps screaming about tabs and spaces. I don’t count on the final word count being 23.5 but it’ll still probably be more than 22k!

I’m so excited!! And nervous!! Ahh!!
