honestly when I turn 18 I’m probably gonna disappear for seven years, come back with a million dollars on my parents doorstep, dump it, disappear again and work in the trades until my hands wear out, buy a condo in the city, and never use this brilliant mind ever again

He doesn’t know how long it’s been since he’s started this, blankly gazing at the ceiling with a murky mind and heavy heart. Dead silence reigns as he lays there, still and despondent, hands folded at his throbbing chest while his finger anxiously tap, tap, taps away at his knuckle in tandem to the every tick of the clock.  8:15 AM. A shiver crawls up his spine, leaving him feeling chilled all over even beneath the blanket. He wishes he could dismiss it as just the cold.  8:15 AM  The note. His blackmail. No matter how hard he tries, these unwanted thoughts keep returning, a mosquito penchant to his ears that he’s unable to dissipate with a swat of a hand. The pharmacy. The boiler room. It was manageable around a crowd, loud and vibrant chatter serving as a muffle to the static buzzing in his head. But it’s been hours since then, and now he’s here, alone with his thoughts, a cacophony of distress that is all but amplified in the silence of night. 8:15 AM. Boiler room. At times like this, the suspicion dredges itself up so much easier than he feels comfortable to admit. The note resides in his blazer pocket, slung over the couch, burning holes where it would meet his heart as he engaged with his unsuspecting peers throughout the day. But he can still recount the words, penned in handwriting even worse than his own, coaxing him into compliance through unsaid threats beneath a veil of faux concern. When he looks at them— all of them— getting along, doing their best, he wants to believe that it will all be alright. No malintent ever tainted Ingrid’s protectiveness, Diana’s kindness, Jean's compassion, Cassidy’s bubbliness— but his chest still throbs at every shaky line, like a stab inflicted on his flesh with each fatal word. 8:15 AM, boiler room, alone-- What does he do with that? What in the world does he do? "Wolfgang...?"
Snippet from the Golfgang fic I've been working on for months. Don't be fooled, Wolfgang's pov will only be like 5% of the fic rip XD

just curious, whatever happened 2 the warriors-inspired alterhuman art rpg?
TLDR: it’s just been on the back burner & I was very dissuaded from tumblr alterhuman spaces
With all the super regular discourse I was seeing on my feed + a deteriorating mental health- I sort of just logged out for a bit & have only recently logged in here & stayed here for more than a few hours
I’d still like to do the OtherClan project, but it was going to be a lot of work for a community I wasn’t able to find much peace in for a bit. I think for now it’ll probably stay on the back burner until I can make more friends in these spaces to help me run the project- cause I wanted it to have a lot of fun stuff
But it would be a lot of mental & emotional fuel that I simply don’t have to run solo rn

Thank you all so much!! I'm close to reaching 7k...That's an INSANE amount, but I'm so happy to see so many fellow Nightmare fanatics around on this site, I never thought I'd be anywhere CLOSE to that number!!
As for TNBC news, not much has been going on besides Sally's Lament: A Twisted Tale releasing in early October, and even sooner for some UK residents..! The sequel to Long Live the Pumpkin Queen will likely release in summer of 2025, and we're still waiting to hear on a title + synopsis for that..!
Also, some new Little Golden Books have released this month, titled I Am Jack and I Am Sally! The next book in the series, I Am Santa, will release later in September. Curious if any more books for the characters are planned or in the making!
As I mentioned before, Dynamite Entertainment claimed last year that they'd have Nightmare comic books and graphic novels releasing in 2024. I haven't been able to find any word on these yet, even following the author attached to the first project, but I hope we can hear more on that soon, if it's still happening. We do have half a year to go, so I still have my hopes up..!
Thank you all for following me, and here's looking forward to October! 👀

Thinking about that Catly game announced at the game awards and wondering who it's even for. The commitment to AAA realism seems like it's a huge and unnecessary expense for something that's trying to appeal to the virtual pet niche, where we kickstart new projects for well under a million dollars and our pets are 200px square PNGs.

Btw Inkling is a fantastic word. It sounds fun and it's meaning and use is solid.
I have too many words I'm found of, in English and Italian to have a genuine ranking. But if I did, this would probably be in the top 100.
Ink-one of my favorite sound combos. (And mediums to work in although the medium shares zero etmology with this work. Their only relation being sound and spelling) and the sound Cling. I know it's uncommon to have favorite phonemes/syllable combos, but this one combo is just so fun on the tongue. It brings me joy. Inkling.
#I am OP#Lingusitics#American English#Favorite Words#Inkling#word nerd#Thank you Middle English#Webster Dictionary is my favorite dictionary#Oxford is okay but is great at linking the influence of other languages to common idioms etc#It is unfortunately not the dictionary of my people's language so it's spellings and definitions do not match the use of my people#(But it is nice to reference when I think I notice speakers of U.K. English slipping in Americanisms and want to check if my guess#is correct.) So I do reference both quite often.#Also the Merrian-Webster dictionary App has been steller always. A version of it has been on every phone I've had since I had one that#could download apps. If you're learning English or a word nerd into English highly recommend#They're one of the first who added recordings of either robots or people saying the words.#(Online on English as a Language reference sites on the web.)#I might end up buying another dictionary... the question is should I shoot for Older or Newer than what I have?)#[The newest one I have is 2011-ish. Oldest is 1978-ish.] I might just go the nearest source of Used Books and let the shelves decide#I really miss the awesome used book store nesr my former workplace#They would bug you once to see if you needed help to find the section you'd like to browse then leave you for potentially hours#And always at the counter ready for you to make a purchase (after they put down their book they were reading of course.)#Literally the second best thing to a library. And honestly because they didn't cull the books as often. Slightly more fun to browse.#I should check if they survived covid but switched up locations.#(I moved away from them 12 years ago and since moving back to my hometown I haven't been and honestly given their landlord and construction#projects over the years there isn't a chance in hell if I visit where they used to be they're still there.)#I remember having a large variety of dictionaries in their language section. It'd also be cool to see if they happen to have complete set#of Encyclopedias. Definitely have been in my long term forever home posession plans since learning of them#and with how difficult it is to find properly sourced information on the Web (again now worse than the web of the 1990s before most knew of#search engines. Way more utility then the joy of just consuming them.)#Also Visual Encyclopedias are the bomb and were one of the best consistent jobs of technical-ish illustrators for a time.)

Designing a virtual pet application which promotes household recycling actions for Gen A (children between the age of 7-11) and drawing up the illustrations for it. It's so cutesy and well-oiled, I am impressed with myself
I'm adding mini quizes, daily missions (home tasks, such as collecting all the PET bottles and handing them in). There's even gamification elements (think of Duolingo's earning points, streaks, competing and connecting with friends, etc), and a planet earth to keep as your pet and will blossom with the more points you earn 🌍🌸
Actually a freak project gone serious!

Um, what Ancient Oracle of Delphi did I tap into?
Okay I might have done a semi-serious semi-funny thing with my Ides of March Post. I didn't fucking think that I was on to something. What fucking Oracle of Delphi shit was I on?
The time the bombing of Yemen took place was on the fucking Ides of March. In case you might have missed the absolute clusterfuck that is SignalGate (Part 1 & Part 2 ) . TLDR: The people in charge of OPSEC are a bunch of fucking idiots just added the Editor in Chief of The Atlantic to discuss bombing Yemen on a fucking chat thread. Claimed that they were clear on OPSEC and violated it by discussing attack plans on Signal instead of the appropriate SCIF [pronounced skiff] (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) that the government has provided for things like this.
I do not see the Fanta Fascist and his gaggle of adoring fascits successfully using the deny, deny, deny strategy. I also don't see playing semantics working on getting out of violating national security. By saying it wasn't classified and then declassifying it doesn't mean that it wasn't classified and a matter of OPSEC (operation security).
Tumblr media
These assholes shouldn't even be in charge of a neighborhood lemonade stand let alone be in charge of the most sensitive information that the government deals with. None of these abject idiots bothered to check on who was in the thread. These assclowns are fucking texting about like the latest office gossip.
Tumblr media
The fact that these chats aren't happening on the record tracks with Project 2025's agenda. But if they're doing this with OPSEC and mater of national security, what other policies and issues are they having "threads" on? The illegal deportation of Venezuelans to El Salvador? The possibility of Canada becoming the 51st state?
There's a way that things have do be done in the government so that its on the record. This is not that way. I've seen several former high level government officials that are baffled that; A) How the fuck could this happen? B) There's a reason that they standards and practices in place, C) WTF are else are they doing and or talking about doing while using this app? D) Who else could have gotten access to this info?
Tumblr media
Two weeks ago the US government stated that the Signal App wasn't secure enough for things like this. Russia might have access to the data. Two of the people on this thread were out of the country while this was taking place. One was in Moscow, one was India.
I'm guaranteeing that this will not slide like they'd like it to. It doesn't matter how much you try and distract with other shit. They're hoping that this will go away. They're throwing out a thousand excuses and none of them are going to work. I don't mean to be a petty bitch, but the way there was screaming "But her emails!" every five seconds. I hope that the Dems hold this over them like the GOP held onto Hillary's email server bullshit.
