My brain handles stress in part through stress dreams. These tend to be a creative mash-up of real life stresses and fictional elements.

I also recently watched Thunderbolts and my brain got clever with it

Dream-related world building and plot summary under the cut, because it may only be of interest to myself.

So, last night's dreams had me playing a character who is on the run from a Marvel-esque experimental laboratory, who finds temporary refuge in a rickety house-on-wheels queer community that has recently been targeted by far-right extremists, and then the main support beams of the one extremely jerry-rigged staircase finally break, and now I'm having to teleport dangerously into spaces I can't fully see in order to use the restroom...

I mean. It's not 100% unpleasant, it's just that my brain isn't content with just one or two stressors. It has to be:

Running late to ask about volunteering for a scientific study

Realize slightly too late that several of the chairs in the waiting room have bags next to them, like the others who arrived on time before me had to leave abruptly

... And haven't had the chance to come back for their stuff

Which implies an emergency or being intentionally separated from their things oh shit

And that's a large number of guards with the person calling me into the back, double oh shit

Get taken under guard to a small room with chair and sink and restraints, and can't escape before some MacGuffin is used to incapacitate me

... My point of view has been jumping between several characters and flashbacks; apparently some characters are imprisoned for many years before the breakout. Like, 5 for one, potentially up to 25 for another.

The amnesia plot means I don't actually know how long it has been.

Oh also there's been a bunch of propaganda in the intervening years about how dangerous escaped experimental test subjects are.

Why yes if that's a queer-friendly space for transients I am going to hide there right effing now, but why do you have a watch schedule posted?

I mean, relatable, they almost certainly hate me too, they just might not realize that immediately because both dream-me and real-me tend to pass pretty well

Also my powers are apparently teleportation and minor telepathy which aren't necessarily obvious from a distance, and possibly foresight but that's not entirely clear because it could also just be the way the PoV keeps shifting in the dream.

And so on. It's an interesting story! I don't really love the stressful bits. There were a lot of stressful bits.

But it's also very funny that I woke up just enough to realize I was dreaming and that if dream-me was temporarily invulnerable that would solve the immediate "being attacked by neo-Nazis" problem of the dream

... So I actually had the thought, "Why not, it's my dream, I think he should have that power so now he's got that power"

And fell asleep again in time to become invulnerable before the flamethrower hit me.

(I am taking the time to write all this out and feed the cats, so that hopefully when I try to get another hour of sleep, my dreams will have a different premise.)
