Stripes - The Birth of a Strange Boy

Miles Javier Socorro was born in a spare exam room in the quiet hum of night, when there wasn’t anyone roaming the halls except some patrol staff at the checkpoints. His father wasn’t present, and that was probably a good thing, in the end. He came out screaming, his lungs strong and healthy. He weighed in at 8 pounds and 12 ounces with a full head of curls and all four of his little limbs intact. He was perfect… except for the fact that he wasn’t. He was far from normal.
The medic, Medical Seargent Garcia, tasked with his delivery by a less-than-friendly Colonel, gasped upon seeing him, hesitating to even wrap him in a blanket, fearing she was seeing things. Fearing she wasn’t seeing things.
He was striped. Truly striped. Tan streaks painting along his skin in intricate swirls and sharp edges, accompanied by odd freckles that run like constellations over his limbs and around his torso, even up onto his face, over his flat nose, and around his too-big eyes. They only brought attention to his pointed little ears hidden amongst golden curls, the same ones flexing around clumsily as murmurs filled the room.
And he had 10 perfect fingers, but his 10 toes were odd… they looked more like the tracks found out in the mud made by the blue savages the RDA wanted gone than anything else, an odd gap between the hallux and the rest of his little toes.
“What… what is he?” his mother, Maria De La Paz Socorro, asked. Her voice wasn’t cold, there was no malice or anger, she was just scared. Any mother would be. His baby came out different, and she just wanted to make sure he was ok. But what else could she ask? He may have human coloring, for the most part, but he certainly wasn’t human, not entirely. “My baby, what’s wrong with mu baby?” she pleaded again, arms reaching for her baby.
Gracia, still white as a ghost, wraps him in a blanket, noting the patch of black hair at the base of his neck, handing him to Paz, who held him to her chest, . He cooed at the sight of his mother, still belting out little cries but calming slightly, pressing close to her, hands clumsily reaching for her. She placed her finger in his little hand, and he held onto it, his big eyes opening, inhumanely golden iris’s meeting her own deep brown eyes.
“Look at you,” she whispered softly, wiggling the finger in his grasp, “my special boy,” and after she admires him a while, she’ll look to the Medic, and ask if he’s healthy, and the Sergeant will hesitate before looking him over, like she’s scared to touch him.
Paz holds her baby boy close as Garcia runs a stethoscope over his striped chest and down his back, as she manipulates his limbs, checking all of his little fingers and toes. Miles does not appreciate any of it, wriggling and crying up a storm, but Paz can only smile, hushing him gently. His ears follow her voice, his eyes try and find her.
“He can hear you alright,” Garcia murmurs, “and he looks healthy, nothing’s jumping out at me, but I’m not peditrican, I haven’t touched a baby since my rounds at med school…” she eyes the infant once more, “and I never saw anything like this, not even in my text books. So I’m not making any promises you can hold me to. You should have the quacks look at him, I’m sure your Colonel has some favors… or blackmail… he can use to get them to keep quiet.”
“... we’ll see,” he murmured, more focused on the baby in her arms than their uncertain future.
The medic said nothing else, not on any small talk type matters anyway, and instead continued to tend to Paz and the rest of the delivery and afterbirth procedures, talking her through it, even if she was no longer listening.
Miles continued to squirm in her arms, face pinched, ears furrowed. He was pouting. And it was the cutest little pout Paz had ever laid her eyes on. She couldn’t help but stroke his little cheek, tracing the stripes that spread from his neck and his hairline, and then the constellations of moles and freckles, down to petting the thick black hair at the base of his neck, feeling the divide between his curls and the thick fuzz.
She couldn’t deny that he looked Na’vi, that would be foolish. She didn’t know why. She didn’t know how. Part of her didn’t want to know, fearing she’d find she was part of a conspiracy or experiment. She’d rather live in blissful ignorance to the truth, and love her baby as he was than know why.
“You, my son, are perfect, just the way you are,” she cooed softly, “nothing will ever change that.”
The infant squeaked, huffing as he tried to keep his eyes open, to keep looking up at his mama, but sleep was taking him, pulling at his fluttering lids. It took a few well-placed strokes of gentle fingers down the bridge of his nose to get him to fall fast into a fitful sleep. He was still wet and a little cold, as per the exam room being dim and drafty, and he was probably hungry, if the way he was nudging his face into her chest was any indicator, but her milk had yet to come in, she didn’t even know if it ever would. Formula was yet to end up on the table, the boy’s father was meant to arrange that, but she wasn’t sure there had been any success.
Just thinking about it, she felt her own breathing pick up, her heart racing. She couldn’t feed her son. She couldn’t fill his empty belly. Couldn’t keep him warm enough. Couldn’t get his father to be by her side. Did she go through all this just to watch her son starve on some foreign planet having never met his father? And on top it all, he would end up as an experiment if the higher-ups ever saw him or his stripes or his ears or his eyes or any part of him, because he was born wrong.
Fear coursed through her, but she kept calm, calm enough to not disturb the baby boy in her arms. She held him a little closer, pressing her lips to his temple, “Mama will protect you, I promise,” she whispered, “Mama will always protect you, whatever it takes.”

...hmm...just thinkin' about an Avatar "no angst" AU, y'know, like an AU where the characters who died in the first movie just...didn't? For example...
• Tsu'tey and Sylwanin are both alive and well. They officially tied the knot not long after the point when Sylwanin would've died in canon, and already have a child together by the time Jake arrives on Pandora.
• Eytukan also lives and therefore he and Mo'at are still leading the clan, though of course Tsu'tey and Sylwanin are next in line.
• Because the schoolhouse incident never happened in this AU, Grace was never kicked out of the village; her school is still running and she is on good terms with the Omatikaya.
• The RDA is overall less psychotic than they are in canon, and the Avatar Program has been largely successful in establishing diplomacy with the local clans. There is still some level of tension between the humans and the Na'vi of course, because the humans are ultimately still there to mine unobtainium and the Na'vi would prefer there was no mining at all, but in this AU the RDA is at least principled enough to not do things like bulldoze the Tree of Voices or bomb Hometree etc. (so, Hometree is still standing). Jake was never asked to spy on the Na'vi.
• Grace is actually the one to introduce Jake to Neytiri when she brings Jake and Norm along to the school one day. Neytiri is intrigued by the goofy non-scientist "warrior" dreamwalker and Jake finds himself equally intrigued by her; they begin spending more and more time together, and when Jake expresses curiosity about her way of life Neytiri just naturally kinda takes it upon herself to teach him the ways of the clan.
• Because Neytiri is neither tsakarem nor engaged to Tsu'tey in this AU, her romance with Jake is not quite as ~forbidden~ as it was in canon (and honestly they make zero effort to hide their feelings; the whole clan knows lol). The only remaining barrier is the fact that he's a dreamwalker and how that may affect things.
• Jake and Neytiri fall head over heels for each other about as fast as they do in canon; after three months Jake is already fully convinced that he wants remain with Neytiri and the clan for the rest of his life rather than ever go back to Earth, where there is nothing left for him. Even getting the spinal surgery to fix his legs no longer holds any interest for him, since of course his avatar body can walk just fine.
• By that point Neytiri begs Mo'at and Eytukan to let Jake do the coming-of-age ceremonies and become part of the clan so they can become mates. Mo'at and especially Eytukan are hesitant, but Mo'at consults Eywa and Eywa sends a sign of approval, so they allow it. Jake spends about an extra month preparing more specifically for Iknimaya and Uniltaron, and soon after completing those he and Neytiri actually get to have a proper mating ceremony. Jake does go through the permanent consciousness transfer at some point, though I haven't yet come up with the exact circumstances there...
• The Sully kids get to have more extended family! Grandpa Eytukan, Uncle Tsu'tey, and Aunt Sylwanin are all still around, along with a handful of cousins (Tsu'tey's and Sylwanin's kids).
• Quaritch never shot Grace in this AU, which means she never had to undergo the attempted consciousness transfer, which means Kiri wasn't conceived the way she was in canon. Buuuuuut I still want Kiri as part of the Sully family, so in this AU she is Jake and Neytiri's biological daughter and Neteyam's twin. She doesn't have the special Eywa powers that she has in canon, but does still have a spiritually-minded personality, and is a strong candidate for next tsakarem after Sylwanin. Grace still adores and dotes on her, especially when she shows interest in botany.
• Norm and Trudy are happy in a long-term relationship.
• There was no Battle at the Hallelujah Mountains, therefore Paz didn't die and was still around to raise Spider (undecided on how involved Quaritch was though).
• I like to imagine that in this AU Paz and Trudy are good friends, both being pilots and all. It's through Trudy that Paz and Spider become involved with folks from the Avatar program and Spider meets the Sully kids.
• Because she doesn't have the RDA-related traumas she has in canon, Neytiri is totally chill with Spider in this AU. She is mostly just curiously amused by the strange little human boy running around with his Na'vi friends.
• Spider is semi-trilingual English/Spanish/Na'vi. English is his go-to since everyone he knows can speak it, but he can also do some Spanish (Paz and maybe Trudy's influence) and quite a lot of Na'vi (Omatikaya influence, though Norm was thrilled to help when he caught wind that Spider was interested in learning). Sometimes he (subconsciously) mixes up a combination of any two or even all three and spews out mishmash sentences no one else understands immediately and has to stop and re-word.
• Because Quaritch is not the Big Bad Evil Guy the way he is in canon, Spider isn't really bothered by being called Miles. However, the nickname "Spider" somehow just stuck when he was very young so most people still call him that; it's mostly just Paz (and Quaritch) who call him Miles.
• Jake is not Toruk Makto in this AU, because with the RDA being more cooperative/less aggressive, he never needed to be. He and Neytiri are just normal (albeit well-liked/respected) hunters in the clan. Perhaps eventually a day will come when Toruk Makto is needed and Jake will have some reason to step up...but not yet. He's perfectly content being just a regular clan member.
• This has the side-effect of lessening Neteyam and Lo'ak's dramatic stunts as teenagers, because the legacy they're trying to live up to is simply "strong respectable hunter" rather than "legendary olo'eyktan Toruk Makto"
#avatar#''but without all that conflict there's not much of a compelling story so the movie would be boring'' SHHHHH#that's why this is only a just-for-fun ''what-if'' AU and not the the actual movie!!#also yes i know i said ''what if no one who died actually died'' but then Tommy is still implied to have died since Jake is on Pandora...😅#sorry about that one; tommy's death is the inciting incident for jake leaving earth in the first place so. i left that one as-is#couldn't think of a good way to work him in#maybe another time :P

Spider will encounter the mindreading torture machine again in Avatar 3

I've seen this BTS photo before, but I only recently realized the neuroscanner is in the background. Spider's hairstyle and stripe pattern are definitely not from A2, so that means he's gonna end up back at Bridgehead again at some point in A3, though I don't know if he'll be tortured again. I think he probably won't be tortured again since it's already been established he can resist the machine so it would be a waste of time to use it on him again. However, I don't think they would show it unless they're going to use it so unfortunately SOMEBODY'S gonna get it :(
There's also a stand-in for a Na'vi behind him, but there's no way of telling who it is without the CGI. It might be an adult based on the height of the head-pole thing. Since Spider looks upset and the Na'vi is putting a hand on his shoulder, forcing him to keep moving, I wonder if it's Quaritch. Quaritch handled Spider similarly when they raided the villages, so I wouldn't be surprised. The only other adult character I could see handling Spider like that would be Jake since the gesture feels paternal, but idk what the odds are of Jake walking around free in Bridgehead, so my money's on Quaritch.
So the vibes I'm getting from this BTS photo is that Spider is going to end up back at Bridgehead with Quaritch and someone is going to be tortured.
Poor kid can't catch a break 😭

Hi hi hi!!
Can i get neteyam x human reader? Let's say she was jake's teammate back on earth before he lost his legs. And they had some cool nicknames for each of them. Jake calls her 'bullet' (or anything else you want) and she calls him 'marine' (the way grace always called him) or 'mermaid' (to mock him. Idk you chose). When quaritch appears and kidnaps the kids, she's there too fighting along with him. But she doesn't know these are Jake's kids. When she finds out, she sides with them and saves the kids. At first, Neteyam hated her because initially she sided with quaritch. I need them to have the 'enemies to lovers' trop
Hello sweetie! So I went over your request a couple times. While I love your idea, I hope you dont mind if I did some adjustments to it. Reader will most likely be the same age as Jake, meaning she will be old enough to be a parent herself. So, I thought if it is ok to have it be platonic instead of romantic. I hope you are ok and understand the change of it. Hope you can enjoy this one!
---------------------
Swaxpi
The natural sunlight of Pandora blinded the marine for a few seconds. Blinking a couple of times to adjust the sudden brightness. Here she was, in the far away planet that is the ideal of new human colonization. And by god, is Pandora beautiful, almost makes her wanna cry. But she came with a new mission and goals. Now arriving and being assigned under the group section following ex-colonel Quaritch.
After hearing the news of Jake Sully now considered a traitor to human kind, the marine now needed answers. It isn't like him to just act out like that. There has to be some logical reason. Seeing as he has gone native, it will be tricky to find him. But hopeful with her new position, finding Jake sully will be easier. Hopefully.
“Our mission is to hunt down the one they call Toruko Makto, Jake Sully” Quaritch gives a brief description of their new mission. Marine stood out among the rest of her ‘squad’ as everyone else literally is 4 feet taller than her and blue. Though she paid close attention, she couldn't help but feel weird.
But now that the squad is heading out, to look for him in the forest to look for him. And while no success, they did find the old shack at the last battle that Jake had with human Quaritch. Not only that, but to see the last minutes of the fighting in a recorded camera of the old armor, the marine almost didn't recognize jake. He looked feral and angry.
“That is Jake’s woman” one of the members points out the female na’vi in the recording. “She is an animal,” the other commented. In a way, she did.
But then suddenly, with a turn of her head she looks at the direction of the forest. “You see something soldier?” Quaritch asks, noticing her looking out. Giving a quick look around her, she shakes her head. “No sir, nothing” she replies.
Though, she could have sworn she heard a voice. Somewhere near a distance.
The surprise attack was indeed surprising. The recom team captured four na’vi children and one human child. Yet two of the four na’vi children have five fingers and eyebrows, indicating they are mixed.
“Show me your fingers” Quaritch demanded one of the children, and without hesitation, the young boy flipped his middle fingers up at Quaritch’s face. It made the man grin, but the marine almost wanted to laugh. Why does it remind her so much of jake?
“You’re his alright” Quaritch comments. The marine girl blinked a few times. Are they Jake’s kids?
Quaritch takes off the mic neck piece from the child and turns it on. And out comes a voice the marine woman thought she would never hear in a long time.
“Lo’ak? Lo'ak, do you read me?” Jake Sully. Sounding alive and well. And it seems Quairtch knows it too. Shit, if the kids really are his, it will make the situation tense and anything could go wrong. Yet she is the enemy to them. What on Pandora is she gonna do? Be part of the reason for hurting her best friend's kids or will she go rogue?
Guns were pointed at the children's heads, neither recom hesitating to be rough on the kids. Especially the little one. “Really sir? They are just kids” the marine girl spoke, her eyes narrowing at her commander. Quaritch shook his head dismissively. “They are the spawn of the traitor. They are valuable so long as they dont do anything rash” he responds.
She is not liking every second of it.
The youngest child yelps in pain as the one holding her was causing her pain. “Easy! Damn, let me have her” she tells the big blue off. She grabs the youngest in her hold, still being strong but hopefully softer than how the other was holding. The recom walks away in annoyance. The child however was close to crying. Leaning closer to her ear, the marine whispers “ssshh, its going to be ok. Your dad will come save you soon. I need you to be a big girl and be strong”.
It sort of seemed to work. Now to figure out how to help the other literal big kids without having her head blown off. She can only hope Jake can get his blue ass faster.
It was night but it was perfect for neteyam and his parents. Yes, they told him to stay put and not move. But how could he stay still when his siblings are in the hands of the enemy? Following quietly, neteyam hid among the large plants, letting the darkness cover him.
Getting closer, he can see those false na’vi holding down his siblings. He looks and sees tuk, scared yet calm. A human woman was holding her from behind. Narrowing his eyes, neteyam wonders why there is a single human in an all blue team. It won't matter, she along with the others will die.
So being quick, he managed to kill one false na’vi, however he exposed himself.
“NA’VI!” one of the recom shouts. Just in time jake catches neteyam and pushes him down to the ground, avoid a flood of bullets. Neteyam knows he will be in big trouble later, but it will be worth it.
The marine knows she will be in serious trouble later but right now it will be worth it.
Bullets and arrows were flying around, taking a moment to use it, the marine woman took out one of her bombs and yanked off the ring. Throwing it in the center of where everyone was at. Quickly counting how many seconds she has, the marine grabs the kids and yanks them to a certain direction.
“Go go go go!!” was all she yelled, pushed the youngest first to the direction where she saw the na’vi. The others followed as she did, counting the time the bomb exploded. Bodies flying all around. The light from the bomb gave her enough sight to see where she was going. However, it was too good of an escape. A sudden and quick sharp pain was felt on her leg. But she couldn't stop to see what it was. Mostly likely she has been shot. By why? It doesn't matter at the moment.
“MARINE!” she heard quaritch shout. Not looking back she continues to guide the kids deeper into the darkness.
Until a giant blue body tumbled her to the ground, blade against her neck.
Neteyam hissed dangerously at the unknown woman who kept touching his siblings. He raised his arm ready to kill the woman once and for all.
“STOP!” kiri shouted, grabbing his arm, forcefully trying to take the blade away from him. Lo’ak also forcefully neteyam to back off from the woman. He looked at them in confusion. “She didn't hurt us! If anything she made sure those killers didn't hurt us any further” kiri was quick to explain. Lo’ak nodded, “yeah, she calmed tuk down and made sure she didn't cry '' he added.
Tuk wasn't far, “she is really nice! Not like those killers' '.
Neteyam looked down at the human who was still laying flat on the ground. “Listen, I understand you want to end me. But I am not your enemy. I know I looked like it, but trust me-” the lady’s words were cut by the worried shriek of a female na’vi.
The kids turned around and saw their parents approaching. Quickly they all ran towards them and hugging them for dear life. Weeping and crying, the parents hugging their children as they sigh in huge relief. “My children! oh thank eywa, you are all safe!” the female na’vi says. After the kids were being checked over, the marine took a good look at the male na’vi. Looked a lot like the recom blues, but also a native.
Her thoughts were interrupted when the oldest son yanked her up and pushed her rather roughly towards the parents. “The human was there with the demons, holding tuk against her will” Neteyam states. Anger still present.
“She is not like them!” Tuk protests. Eager to go side with the human woman but jake wasn't letting her. “Please, she didn't want to hurt us,” Kiri adds. Neytiri was ready to kill the human, but Jake gently placed a hand on his wife’s shoulder. Getting right at the marine’s face, mad yet confused.
The marine couldn't help but let out a nervous chuckle, “long time no see little miss damsel” she says.
“No fucking way….”
Neteyam didn't know what to feel. One moment his father was ready to kill the human, and now his father was happy and rough housing with the demon. His mother was just as confused as he was. His younger siblings however were happy and enjoyed playing with the human. Maybe it was so late into the night, maybe the thrill was dying down and he was just hungry and tired.
Yet he cant help but not trust the human woman. How can his father have him accept the demon who held a weapon near his baby sister? Sometimes he understands his mother more.
“And this I dunked him in the orange liquid! Oh you should have seen his face! He looked like a shaking, crusty chihuahua!” The marine woman was retelling a funny memory to Jake's family. While the kids laughed, neytiri trying to remain a stoic face couldn't help but crack a smile.
Jake looked like he wanted to die on the spot.
“Oh yeah? What about that one time when we were in Guatemala? You were so drunk that you were flirting with that bartender” Jake smirks as he recalls another memory from their shared past. The woman blushed but also looking ashamed. “Not my proudest moment,” she confessed.
“Swaxpi is so funny! I hope she stays with us” tuk giggles as neteyam tucks her in bed hammock. Neteyam gave a surprised look, “why?” he asks. Tuk shrugs, “I like her!”. Shaking his head, he gives her a kiss on the forehead and leaves.
He was tired but not sleepy, so much has happened in the few short hours. He needed some time alone. So he quietly leaves his family’s hut and out to the nearby area. Silence was perfect.
Until it wasn't
Seems like the human woman was also in the same area neteyam wanted to be in. Neteyam grabs his blade by instinct, observing her move in case she does something. “Calm down kid, I will be gone soon” the human woman explains.
She turns around and her eyes meeting his.
“Come here, I could use some company,” she says.
Huffing in annoyance, neteyam walks over to her and sits near a branch, keeping distance from her. It didn't bother the woman. From what Jake told her, his oldest son is more cautious of possible danger and tends to be alarmed often.
“Swaxpi, your siblings and your mother have started calling me that, I'm not very well educated on your language, so what does it mean? I hope nothing too mean” the woman asks. Yes, neteyam has also noticed that too. Mostly tuk and lo’ak calling the odd woman hat name. But hearing that his mother calls her that too was very surprising.
“It means family member…” neteyam replies slowly.
The woman humms at that. Seeming more relaxed, swaxpi makes herself comfortable on a branch. “I like it, but I find it odd. I only have met all of you in less that a day, was part of a enemy squad, exposing some of your father’s embarrassing secrets and now look. Already seeing me as family-”
“I don't, you are a demon no matter what. A killer.” Neteyam cuts her off.
Swaxpi lowered her gaze, her smile faltering a bit. “Call me what you like neteyam, but never call me a killer. Yes, I joined the RDA. Yes I have held weapons. But never ever have I taken a life. Human nor na’vi. I never brought death to anyone” Swaxpi calmly defends herself.
Long minutes have passed and neither spoke a word.
“They can call you swaxpi all they want. But in my eyes, you are nothing to me” neteyam declares. Almost trying to convince himself more than the human. The woman however lets her lips grow back into a smile. “Sure neteyam, whatever you say” she replies.
Yes, neteyam will never call her Swaxpi or anything endearing towards her. She is nothing to him, nothing.
But if she is nothing to him, why does it feel wrong?
This took too long that I would like. BUT! I hope you all liked this one. And also hope you guys understand the changes I made. So, until next time! See ya!

CONTAGIOUS.
miles decides to take care of a sickly lyle — someone decides to watch !
( miles quaritch x lyle wainfleet x fem! recom!reader )
SMUT WARNING! NSFW, MDNI. ( fluff to extra stuff .. ) p in v, fingering, threesome, double penetration, oral, anal, rough play, pet names, praising, etc. very nasty stuff. satiate my thirst.

miles sighed heavily, lightly tossing about the bottle of water in his hands. it crinkled and sloshed, making a faint noise that wasn't near loud enough to break through fike's snores (who had managed to fall asleep on the floor, next to the fridge after having a bit too much to drink). his bare feet pattered against the cold tile flooring as he made his way past the sleeping recom for the second time, and down the dimly lit hall to his own room.
or he wished it were his own. maybe then he'd actually catch some shuteye, instead of listening to lyle's constant chattering. still, he didn't want to think about where he'd be without the annoying fuck.
the door let out a small hiss as it slid open automatically upon registering his presence. *fancy shit.* and as soon as he stepped inside, he was met with the familiar sight of lyle lazing about in the bottom bunk. normally, lyle would sleep up top, but he could hardly get himself up there.
he was sick as a dog— supposedly.
now, miles wasn't sure why, but a part of him did take pity on the man. even if it was rather thin at 11 at night, his patience was there. and lyle sounded like a dog with a squeaker lodged in its throat. he needed water.
miles allowed his weight to press in the mattress at lyle's side. the metal frame groaned just a bit before settling, as lyle rolled over to face him.
"here." miles grunted out, offering the water to lyle, who kept himself tucked beneath his blankets. lyle could see he was shivering, but he had a relieved look on his face as he accepted the drink. he popped the lid off, bringing the spout to his lips and gulping eagerly. until nothing but a few sips remained in the bottom.
"ugh.. thanks.." he managed, "didn't expect you to be back in here tonight. youre gonna get sick, yknow."
"i figure that, but i think bein' sick beats sleepin' in there with mansk n' prager."
"they get on your nerves?"
miles shook his head, his tail thumping against the mattress as his palm rubbed at his forehead. "no .."
lyle wasn't sure what to think of the dry reply, but he didn't push it. he knew that miles wasnt always the best at expressing himself, whether it be in a positive way or a not so positive one. miles refused to show any signs of weakness, even when he probably should.
lyle could be the same way at times, but right now? there was no point in even trying to fight it. he felt like shit, and he wasn't afraid to show it.
a pained groan slipped from his blue lips as his head lolled back into his pillow, and a whine rattled his vocal chords. he squeezed his eyes shut, sniffling and sucking in rapid, shallow breaths in an attempt to clear his airways. this caught miles' attention, once more.
"here, sit up." the colonel demanded, and as much as lyle wanted to refuse, it was built-in now to *listen to miles*. he was his boss, after all. pretty much. lyle didn't mind.
"then help." lyle huffed at him, and miles couldn't help an eyeroll. their hands locked and lyle sat himself up with a small wheeze deep in his chest, keeping his hand clutched to miles' so he wouldn't fall back.
his ears twitched, pinning back against his head at the unfamiliar touch he felt. miles placed his hand against lyle's lower back, gently pushing in on it as a nudge of guidance.
"straighten your back— deep breaths, now." even though lyle was still tense from what he was seeing (as it was rather baffling: miles was never this gentle), he couldn't help but melt into it. lyle was sick, he felt cold. and miles was warm- his hands were so warm.
he complied to the simple command, rolling his shoulders a bit as he straightened his posture, and sucked in deeply. his nose was stuffy, so the task wasn't the easiest, but after a few tries he felt all the ick flowing downwards, and he could breathe again.
miles watched lyle take in deep chugs of oxygen, his eyes lingering over his lips before settling on his nose. lyle resembled rudolph, only far less happy than that stupid fucking deer. but a whole lot cuter, nonetheless.
"there you go.." miles murmured, looking down at his hand, which he held in place for lyle to continue using as support. he felt his heart skip a beat at the contact. the two men had always had a thing for each other, but it never went further than a few drunken makeout sessions.
but the interest was there. the care was there. and, even, a love that went beyond something friendly. on the outside they looked to be brothers in arms, but behind closed doors? more like very, very not related guys in dick to ass. at least that's what they wanted it to be. but neither had the balls to fess up.
as miles lost himself in thoughts of the man sitting just next to him, his eyes tracked downwards. over the corporal's bare chest, down to the blanket that hung loosely over his lap. the sight made his breath hitch, his palms growing sweaty, to which he wiped them off on the thighs of his sweatpants.
lyle, who was still catching his breath, noticed this. and he felt his own panic settling into his gut. it bubbled painfully in his belly, burning in his abdomen. did miles notice how hard he was?
lyle adjusted the blanket over his lap, trying to more properly hide the grown bulge beneath it to no avail. plus, it was too late. miles had noticed. yeah, he saw that. cant hide from him.
lyle's tail thumped under the covers, a clear indicator of his anxiety, and his cheeks flushed. miles watched his every move. like a hound trained on a rabbit.
"hmh.. it's okay," miles started, finding the confidence within himself to finally speak. "i know my touch is 'bout as good as it gets." he drawled, that southern accent thick with an almost sadistic tinge. he liked it. he liked seeing lyle all worked up and uncomfortable in his presence.
it made him feel in charge. strong. and incredibly fucking horny. he wasn't even going to attempt to hide his own erection-- it was huge and it was happening.
his pants tightened as his cock strained against them, making him hiss softly behind his canines. it hurt. so good.
lyle chuckled nervously, scratching at the back of his neck. he was embarrassed, and unsure what to say. was miles toying with him? making fun of him? was he upset with him? lyle couldnt tell. until he noticed the clear indication in miles' pants.
"sorry.."
"whaddya got to apologize for?"
their bellies danced with butterflies, a feeling neither of them thought possible anymore. lyle shrugged.
and without thinking, before he even knew what he was doing, miles reached out. his hand cupped between lyle's hidden thighs, his palm slightly compressing the mound in the other man's boxers.
lyle's whole body tensed, his breathing growing more faint than it already was. he grabbed miles' bicep, and the colonel stilled his movements.
"w.. want me to stop?" miles whispered, starting to retract his hand. but lyle stopped him.
the corporal grabbed his wrist, pushing his palm further onto his crotch and bucking his hips into it. a mewl left his lips; a whine of desperation and yearning. he needed to be touched.
at this, now having consent, miles couldn't hold back anymore. he ripped the covers from the bed, carelessly tossing them aside before returning his hand to lyle's boxers. he massaged the man's length through the fabric, earning himself a whimper of gratitude. but he knew lyle needed more.
he guided lyle to lean back against the wall, using one hand to grip the recom's braid. he roughly snatched it back, forcing lyle's chin to tilt upward to expose his neck. his other hand worked lyle's boxers down around his thighs, just enough to free his cock.
"fuck.. that's pretty." miles groaned at the new sight. lyle was big. the colonel had already known this, but actually seeing it was a whole new experience. his hand wrapped around lyle, starting to pump him slowly, working him over.
lyle's moans and curses of ecstasy were intoxicating to his superior. everything felt so right. and he wasn't stopping for shit.
he sank his fangs into lyle's neck, still gripping his braid to hold him in place while delivering deliberate, slow strokes to his dick.
lyle groaned, his hands searching until they found the tie to miles' sweatpants, and he pulled them loose. miles stopped him.
"nah, baby.. let me take care of ya. you're the sick one, ain't ya?" miles inquired, his hot breath fanning over the blue skin of the other male's neck.
lyle's lip curled upward in a small, lazy smirk. "well yeah, but i still wanna." his voice was a bit nasally, and playful towards his boss. with that undeniable hunger.
miles wanted nothing more than to pin him down and take him, but he had to restrain himself. lyle was still sick, and he feared that if he pushed too hard, he'd exhaust the man or put him off. so he kept himself light.
"a'right.. well, if ya wanna, i aint stoppin' ya. but you best remember," his grip on the recom's queue tightened, making lyle feel a tingling sensation throughout his whole frame. every nerve jolting with excitement. normally this would hurt, but damn he was too heated to even register that at the moment. "you go and get yourself hurt, it aint gonna be my fault.. understood?"
"uh huh--"
miles bared his teeth, glaring down into lyle's wide, yellow eyes.
"use your damn words." he seethed. he hadn't meant to sound so cruel, no. but the overwhelming strain between his legs was painful, and he needed relief. or he'd completely lose his mind. he was teetering between sane and falling off the deep end.
lyle was just too fucking cute; too hot. those sounds, those eyes. his tail waggling back and forth and those ears giving away his true emotions.
"yes sir." lyle responded back to him properly this time, and for a split second he resembled a soldier once again instead of a man weakened in another's arms. but just like ice under the desert sun, it was gone before it even stood a chance. and they were both okay with that.
"yeah.. good boy." miles sneered, freeing lyle's hair and allowing the man to proceed. he sat back on his knees slightly, watching as lyle tugged his sweatpants down.
briefly, his eyes landed on lyle's cock again. it twitched and pulsed, begging for contact again. a bead of precum gathered on its slit, and miles swiped it up with his thumb. promptly licking the digit clean.
lyle was awestruck momentarily, unsure of what had just happened until it clicked. miles had tasted him, and god did he want to return the favor. he hugged his lower lip between his canines as he slowly peeled down the colonel's boxers.
a pleased sigh exhaled from miles' lips as his cock was finally freed from its confines. lyle took note of the small wet patch on the plaid fabric he'd just removed. the small details. miles was starved for him, just as lyle was.
miles was notably bigger than lyle, even though they were both pretty huge. these new bodies were something else, that was for sure. covered in stripes and freckles in even the most intimate places.
lyle breathed a tiny sigh of wonderment as he reached his hand out, carefully wrapping it around the colonel's length. he didn't stroke it, and instead gave it a gentle squeeze, taking his time to just feel it. he had no idea how he'd managed to make this fellow marine so damn hard.
he leaned down, pushing up the hem of miles' tshirt with his free hand as the other guided the man's cock towards his mouth, and he used his tongue to clean the small mess gathered atop it. miles gritted his teeth, his fingers digging into lyle's shoulders.
"fuck.." he whispered, pursing his lips as he suppressed a moan. but he wasn't able to suppress his hands, and his claws dug into lyle's neck. he shoved the corporal back onto the bed, pinning him down by his throat.
miles was so swift in his movements that it dazed lyle briefly, and he blinked rapidly up at the larger recom. he felt the pressure on his jugular, but he wasnt afraid. if anything, this only excited him further. he watched as miles pushed himself up to hover above him, trapping lyle's waist between his knees after fully removing his sweatpants and ripping his tshirt off.
lyle sucked in a deep breath of air through his mouth as his throat was released. he grunted as miles shoved his shoulders down, forcing lyle's face towards his cock. lyle was trapped, his hands holding miles' thighs as he gazed up at the colonel.
miles was practically sitting on his chest, but he made sure not to apply his full weight. and though he was trying to fight off his primal side, he was losing.
"suck my fuckin' cock.." he demanded through his teeth, using one hand to cradle lyle's head towards his groin.
he couldn't hold back a moan this time, as lyle's lips parted and he took miles into his mouth.
"ah, fuck. fuck, fuck, fuck.." miles cursed, bucking his hips forward. lyle gagged at the knock to the back of his throat, but he didn't pull away and endured, instead starting to slowly bob his head.
he'd never sucked a dick before, but he could tell he was doing well by the blissful groans and grunts from his companion. he closed his eyes, his brows furrowed as he tried to deepen the hold his lips had on the colonel.
miles tightened his jaw, his abdomen sucking inward as he leaned his head back. he was trying his damndest to keep quiet, but it was hardly working. the profanity escaping his lips was filthy.
his gaze dropped back down to lyle, watching the man work him with his mouth. the sight ignited something inside the colonel, and the urge to cum was too damn strong.
without warning, miles grabbed lyle's head, placing his palms on either side of it firmly to hold it in place. he started rocking his hips, back and forth. slowly, gradually speeding up until he was pounding poor lyle's face.
"ah, fuck! baby.. oh shit." the colonel panted with each thrust, his blood pumping so quickly that a ringing filled his ears, drowning out the sounds of lyle's own moans and grunts.
this was the first thing you saw when you stopped in the doorway. your footsteps halted, your eyes wide in shock and the pointed ears on your head perked in what was a mix of confusion and curiosity. followed by a pang of fear. what the hell was going on?
you felt your hands starting to tremble, your heart rate soaring to dangerous heights.
it was almost instantaneous. as soon as you realized what was going on, heat flooded through you, centering to your abdomen. it felt as if your guts were knotting up, a deliciously painful feeling. anxiety paired with the overwhelming need to get fucked.
you squeezed your thighs together, with a faint gasp. the two men didn't pick up on this small sound, but they did pick up your scent. well, miles did. lyle couldn't breathe through his nose for shit.
that smell.
they both stopped moving. miles released lyle's head, allowing the recom to finally breathe again.
"what?" lyle croaked out, as miles twisted slightly, tilting his head to see you past his shoulder.
you considered trying to hide, but you knew it was hopeless. you were caught, and you weren't sure whether to feel negatively about that or not.
but the way the two looked at you, you realized maybe it wasnt so bad. even if embarrassing and shameful.
"uh, sorry. ill just-" you started, but miles cut you off.
"whats that smell?" did you stink? oh god- "hell that's good.. that you, sweet pea?"
a shock waved through you. was he speaking to you? only then did you finally understand why you'd been caught. these new bodies. they could smell every bit of your desire. and lyle picked up on it when he sat up.
their mouths flooded with drool. they needed you. whatever was getting passed around, it was contagious, and there was no controlling it.
"heyy.. y/n," lyle dragged, licking his lips. "wanna join?" it almost sounded like he was joking, teasing you. and you almost laughed. gladly you stopped it, seeing he was being dead serious.
but how were you supposed to answer that question? yes, no? it wouldn't be right to join in, would it? you could only stand, your lips parted as you tried to come to a conclusion. you were taking too long, though.
miles lifted a hand, waving two fingers towards himself in a gesture for you to come over.
"wait, i-"
"nah, c'mere. i can smell ya.. i know you wanna."
you paused at his words. and caved in. your legs felt weak as you shut the door behind yourself and neared the bunk. miles stood, pulling lyle up with him. they stood in front of you, their bodies on full display.
and what a damn good display it was.
toned chests, two huge cocks eager for one another and now for you.
"are you guys sure-" you were cut off. again. lyle snatched your hips, growling lowly as he roughly tripped you up and pinned you to the mattress. any signs of his ailment had subsided, and he had a feral look in his eyes. as did miles.
they both admired you from above, eyeing you like two hungry wolves would a freshly cut flank from the juiciest doe.
"finally found our lil culprit, wainfleet." miles huffed out, reaching down to push the tank top clothing your body above your stomach. his hand glided over your warm abdomen, working gentle circles into it in a soft massage.
"yeah.. shit, it was her the whole time." the corporal clicked, his hand grabbing your knee. he slid his palm upwards, pushing his fingers under the leg of your shorts.
they noticed the quizzical look in your eyes.
"huh. darlin'," miles crooned, leaning over you. "we've been smellin' your fine ass for months. couldnt figure out what it was, till now. just 'bout all the guys been lookin' for you."
"yeah. y'know, you could've just said you wanted us." lyle shrugged at his own words, and you gasped as you felt his fingers brush against the panties beneath your shorts. a grin overtook his lips as he felt the damp cloth. "damn, you're soakin'.."
his middle finger slipped under the small garment, caressing your folds with a tenderness that took your breath away. you couldn't hold in a small squeak, just as miles shoved your tank top up the rest of the way. your breasts fell from your shirt, and both the men seemed to purr at the sight.
as miles leaned down, taking a nipple into his mouth to suckle at it eagerly, his other hand kneaded the opposite breast. the sight made lyle want to release all over the both of you right then and there, but he held back, and instead plunged his finger deep inside your pussy.
he felt your walls, pushing his finger into that spot that made your toes curl and your breath stop.
"fuck, colonel, she's tight.."
miles released your nipple with a pop. "mmhmm.. guess we oughta get her ready then."
those words made your whole body give up. if you wanted to fight it before, you sure as hell couldn't now. you were in this, and dammit, you were not leaving until you felt quenched. until they did, too. they'd make sure of that.
lyle pulled his hand from your shorts, leaving you empty. he brought it to his lips, and miles sat up to join him in aweing at how wet you were. they snickered to themselves, before they both leaned in and licked lyle's hand clean.
their tongues pressed together, and they shared a sweet kiss before pulling back to share a knowing look. you tasted good.
focusing their attention back on you, you found your shorts being yanked off by miles. lyle leaned down, pushing your knees wide apart so they could get a good look at those underwear.
"you need it bad, dontcha?" lyle mocked, dropping down and gripping your thighs as he buried his face in your panties, licking and sucking your clit through them.
"oh god, lyle-" you panted, and he whimpered in response.
this was heaven for him. he had tasted miles, and now he was tasting you. in truth, he'd been pining for your fine ass since day one. the slut.
his mouth engulfed your whole mound through the fabric, and he kept sucking the moisture from it. as you moaned and whined, you noticed miles sat at your side, stroking himself at a steady pace as he admired the view.
"that feel good, darlin'?" the colonel questioned, using his free hand to brush your hair back out of your face. "mm.. good girl, keep moanin' for me. not too loud, now.."
miles praised you, and you quivered under lyle's ministrations. he pulled from your pussy, only momentarily, just enough time to rip your panties off and toss them at miles.
a squeal rattled your throat as lyle delved back into your heat, his nails digging into your thighs to leave behind faint scratches as he lapped away at your soaked folds. now unprotected, it felt so much better. his tongue teased your clit, and he took it between his lips to give it a hard suckle that made you clutch the bedsheets. your knuckles paled as you let out a loud moan, only for a large hand to cover your mouth.
miles muffled your sounds of pleasure with his palm, shushing you quietly.
"shh, now. dont want anybody else walkin' in here. dont think you could take more than two of us, sweet pea." he reminded, and you made an effort to be more quiet. though it was hard.
"yeah, good girl.. look'it you. damn." he breathed, leaning over you to suck at your breast once more. he kept a hand over your mouth, the other gripping your panties as he grinded his cock against them. "mmh.. mhm, fuck." he released your nipple to speak again, "so damn pretty." he whispered, peppering kisses down your belly until he reached lyle.
lyle panted as he pulled back temporarily, his mouth and chin covered in your juices. he gazed up at miles, who leaned in to lick his face clean, before they both focused on your pussy.
miles released your mouth, using his now free hand to spread your pussy lips.
"pretty fuckin' pussy, colonel." lyle breathed, "tastes damn good too.. you gotta try this."
they were passing you back and forth, treating you like a shared dish for the both of them to dine upon.
"guys-"
"hush." they both ordered you sternly, their voices mixing into one. one that you simply listened to.
"you relax and enjoy yourself, buttercup." lyle smacked his lips, pushing himself up to sit aside you as miles dipped to replace him between your legs.
you whined up at lyle, whimpering as miles' tongue shoved inside your wetness. lyle gave you a sweet smile, dipping his head to give you a kiss. you could taste yourself on his lips.
he broke the kiss to tilt your head back, leaning down to sink his teeth into your neck, marking you. you moaned, and miles groaned along with you.
"so fuckin' good." the colonel panted, pushing your knees up to your chest as he feasted away at your swollen folds. the change in position made you all the more heated, and your hands clung to lyle.
"oh fuck.. im gonna- i need to-"
"yeah, yeah, good girl. you gonna cum for us? huh? gonna cum all over his face?" lyle whispered in your ear, and you nodded hastily.
"uh huh, uh huh-" you agreed, and miles sped up his tongue, abusing your sensitive bud with it again and again. "uh huh!"
"yeah? yeah?" lyle nodded with you, keeping his eyes locked with yours. "good girl. yeah, cum for me baby. cum for us. good girl.."
his praise sent you over the edge, and just as you reached your peak, he smashed his lips to yours to silence the loud moan that would come with it. miles grinned, lapping up the remaining juices pooled in front of his mouth.
he helped you come down from your high as lyle kissed you repeatedly, the corporal murmuring soft 'good jobs' to you.
miles pulled back when you were fully spent, but they weren't done.
they needed to cum, too.
they stared down at you, with those hungry eyes again. and though you were weak, you wanted to please them just as much as they had you. you bit your lip, pushing yourself to lay on your side.
lyle sat on his knees behind you, his cock rubbing against your bare ass as miles took the front. they grabbed one of your legs, lifting it and forcing your knee to your shoulder.
"fuck.. can i fuck your ass?" lyle suddenly blurted, not even realizing what he'd said. he made it sound so casual, as if asking for a basic need. and to him, it was. he needed to be inside that tight ass of yours. he couldn't take it anymore.
"but you're so.. big." you muttered uncertainly back at him, and he pouted.
"ill be gentle, baby.." he assured you, and your tail flicked out, your ears pinning against your hair as you considered it.
miles was already positioning himself at your front entrance, starting to ease himself inside you carefully. you covered your mouth, and without even considering the consequences you just nodded to lyle.
"thank fuck." the corporal chirped, coating his hand in saliva and spreading it about his cock and your asshole.
your breath caught. they were going in at the same time? what the hell did you just agree to?
before you could say anything, you felt your ass being stretched. slowly, painfully. it already hurt enough on its own, but paired with miles' cock deep inside your pussy as well, it was excruciating.
he held you steady by your waist, his eyes squeezed shut and his jaw clenched as he refrained from just taking off without letting you get used to him.
but it felt so good at the same time.
lyle pushed in as far as he could reach, going at a snail's pace just for you. he stopped once he bottomed out, allowing you to adjust to his size.
"fuck. so fucking tight. fuck." he cursed.
miles whined along with him, also holding himself deep inside you. you felt him against your cervix, and you could swear your guts were flipped upside down now.
they savored the feeling of your plush walls hugging their cocks so tightly, squeezing and clenching around their lengths as if begging them to stay planted there. lyle peppered your shoulder in tender kisses all the while, murmuring soft comforting words of reassurance.
once you felt you were ready, even with faint tears in your eyes, you gave them the go ahead. and when they found a rhythm, they couldn't hold back.
as lyle would pull back, miles would push in.
as miles pulled back, lyle would shove back in again.
their hips rocked into yours ruthlessly, and fortunately the pain had mostly diminished. replaced with a pleasure from the full, hot feeling in your belly.
"yeah, fuck.. good girl."
"so fuckin' tight. shit."
"you feel so good baby."
"milkin' my fuckin' cock. fuck yeah."
"that's a good girl. shit. take it."
"take my fuckin' cock."
filthy, filthy, filthy.
you could only lay there, a moaning mess as they used your holes.
"fuck, im gonna cum!" lyle whimpered, his hips snapping forward again.
"ah, dammit.." miles hissed.
both of the men grew sloppy in their movements, their breathing growing heavier and heavier, their groans and grunts and whimpers more frequent.
until they both shoved deep inside at once, releasing all they had, painting your walls white with their loads.
they caught their breath atop you, before they gave in and just laid down on either side of you, their cocks still within your depths.
lyle hugged your waist from behind, burrowing his face in your hair. as miles rested in front of you, kissing your forehead and wiping away your tears as he massaged your hip.
lyle reached around to rub your abdomen, trying to provide some more comfort.
"you okay..?" he whispered.
"yeah, she's alright." miles whispered the answer for you, but the two of you doubted lyle heard as he was already fast asleep.
miles stared into your eyes with a gentle gaze now, simply admiring the features that made up you. you were so beautiful. how had he not noticed before? he bit back any further speaking.
"..can you sleep?" he whispered through lyle's faint snoring.
you nodded sleepily, your eyelids already hanging heavy.
he kissed your nose, "sleep."
that simple order was all you needed to doze off. still stuffed completely by both the men you were trapped between.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
the next morning, mansk peeked his head in. prager was near behind him, wanting to see the condition of lyle. they hadn't expected to find three of their teammates in the room.
all naked, under one blanket. tossing and turning from the snotty noses they were all experiencing.
"wh-" fike poked his head in, his eyes widened in shock. as always. he had a mad hangover, and he thought for a second that he was still drunk as hell. "huh?!"
miles groaned in irritation, snatching up a half empty water bottle and hurling it straight at the other three recoms. they all jumped and fled the room, closing the door as they retreated in a fit of snickers and chuckles.
they were never going to let that down.

part 1 , part 2
▪︎▪︎▪︎
"Did you give her the pill?"
The general ask and Z-Dog just smirk and walk away. The pill is meant to be given to you during this mission since there might be a chance your memories might come back. They have spent a long time manipulating you, with you being a full na'vi your a big help to them by exploring the Pandora.
"I absolutely hate it when someone doesn't obey me orders."
Your body flinch when you heard Quaritch and you can already tell that his looking at you. Rolling your eyes you got out from the ship and called your ikran. Today's events made you feel suffocate and something or someone is just telling you to get some air. Away from those people. Away from everything.
After flying some time you landed on a rock, you look around and saw three mountains. Just how much did you space out while being on your ikran. You look at your ikran and it nudge your face, you smiled a little and stroke it just below it's mouth, when suddenly your head throb
'My child.. come back to us..'
Your eyes scan your surrounding but no one is there. Then your head began to throb again but this time, it lasted longer.
'My child! Please bring her back!'
'Oh my daughter...'
"Stop.. STOP IT!"
You scream in pain as memories keeps flashing through your mind
'Her name shall be Y/N! A gift from Eywa!'
'Y/N!'
A scene from your birth as your father held you up, people from your clan circling your family. Your mother looking at you with full of love.
"No.. this is just a play of my mind. They betrayed me!"
'Come, play with us!'
'See that? Try hitting it'
'Here!'
You drop on your knees as you clutch your head, you heard your ikran screeching as it began to fly away from you. The last memory that flash into your mind was you being taken away by the sky people
"Save me...."
Neteyam's POV
The meeting with his father and the leaders of the metkayina clan just ended and when he is on his way back to their marui pod, he heard the noise of an ikran. Why would be their ikran near here? I thought their ikrans decided to stay at the forest just behind on where the metkayina lives.
"Lo'ak come with me!"
His younger sibling followed and they came to the spot where they first got here, when the ikran landed it made a cry and it may be dark but he can recognize that ikran no matter what
"It's Y/N's ikran!"
Tuk and Kiri appeared telling that they heard the cries of an ikran, they quickly got here.
"But why would her ikran be here?"
Lo'ak said while scanning then he notice the saddle and they all look at each other
"Y/N!"
Neteyam ran to the water calling for his ilu, the ikran also started to fly and they all followed to where it is going. After some time they arrived at the Three Brother's Rock. Your ikran landed on where you collapsed.
"Look!"
Tuk pointed and they all immediately got off and the first one to get to you was Neteyam.
"Wake up, Y/N!"
He held you into his arm but there's no avail of you showing signs of waking up.
"Let's get out of here bro!"
Neteyam carried you and signaled your ikran to go where the others ikrans are. But before your ikran can fly somebody fired and luckily your ikran were able to dodge it, Neteyam quickly look back and saw two avatars holding up their gun. He saw a gun strap on your thighs and he quickly got it.
"Go go go!"
He shouted to his siblings as they all rode their ilus and swam away from the place.
"Shit! Don't let them get away!"
Neteyam place you on his ilu before shooting back and when he manage to hit one of the avatar he quickly jump and rode his ilu then commanded it to swim away. He just knows that tomorrow something big will happen.
- end of neteyams pov-
▪︎▪︎▪︎
"This child is under a spell! Sky people corrupted her."
You are now laying down inside the Sully's pod with Ronal treating you. Neteyam gritted his teeth, so that's why you acted like that towards them.
"What can we do?"
His father ask
"Nothing. Let's hope that as soon as she woke up, she'll be the same person you people know."
Ronal walk out from their pod and Neteyam can only carress your face. Jake lets out a sigh.
"I'm calling Norm and Max again."
Jaket steps out followed by Neytiri, his friends just got here weeks ago when Kiri had a seizure but he needs them again. He also wants your family to come. They can't simply do this.
"Is she going to hate us again?"
Tuk broke the silence and Neteyam can only lower his gaze. Day turns to night and you still haven't woke up. Norm and Max arrived just hours ago and they examined you, they found a weird substance in you. It's like a medicine that you take making you hallucinates or replace some of your memories.
"So like a drug?"
Neteyam heard his father and Max nodded
"Since she is a born na'vi it might have dealt a great damage on her system. She was gone for a long time, who knows how many pills she have taken?"
"My poor child.."
Your mother is now at your side, your father holding your hand and offering a prayer.
"I must kill them. They have harm my sister!"
"Mawey Casnu, we must come up with a plan to attack them."
Neteyam put his hands on the shoulders of your brother then Tonowari walk up to them, looking at them as if he carries a bad news
"They are at the north side of the coast. We will attack tomorrow."
Tonowari insisted on having a meeting again and this time your father and brother took part. There's no way they will let this slide. Neteyam stayed back offering to aid your mother.
"You must rest"
Neytiri pat the shoulders of your mother and when she was about to refuse Neteyam spoke
"It's okay. I will watch over her."
Your mother nodded and Neytiri and her walk out from the pod. He held your hands and brought it close to his lips, kissing your knuckles.
▪︎▪︎▪︎
A warm light woke you up from your sleep, slowly getting up you notice that you are in a unknown place. You quickly got up to your feet and that alerted the people around you. You hiss at them and grab the knife at your pocket, pointing it at them.
"Stay back!"
Your vision blurry but you need to defend yourself. They must be here again to force you again on stepping that machine. This people will trick you again.
"It's us, my dear child.."
You squinted your eyes and quickly rub it and slowly your vision clears up. You saw your mother, father and brother standing in front of you.
"You people just don't stop! Now you are even copying what my family looks like."
Your family look at you puzzled, the Sully family heard the commotion and decided to check that's where they saw you in a defense stance.
"We are not them! See, we are real.."
Casnu, your brother slit the palm of his hand letting you see that they are indeed your family. Your eyes watered, dropping your knife you ran to them
"Ma... Pa... they- they tried to trick me!"
You sob at the chest of your mother, Jake told his family to come later since you and your family needs a lot of time. Neteyam is just simply happy that you are now back though he saw Max said something to his father that made Jake halt and look back. That made him look back too but all he see is you smiling to your family.

You hated being a human on Pandora. You showed up in January 2154, young and alone. The head of security, Miles Quaritch, constantly demonized the natural life of Pandora. He claimed the indigenous were “savages” and that everything that lives in the forest wanted to kill us. Most of the time, you were confined to the boring human base, nestled next to a forest.
About a week after arriving, you befriended Grace Augustine and began to help her out with her lab work. She was almost like a mother to you. Norm was pretty much your brother, Trudy being a sister. It was your lab friends that made life worth living. The first time you ever left the base was with all three of them, to go collect samples with Grace. And you swore Pandora was the most beautiful place in the universe. The floating mountains, waterfalls, forest life, bioluminescence- your eyes were glued out the door, and you'd take polaroids until your camera ran out of film. Since then, you were thoroughly invested in the avatar program, and dedicated your time to perfecting it. Though you never got an avatar yourself, you were fine with that.
Around 6 months after you showed up, a new member of the avatar program showed up. His name was Jake Sully, and he wasn't supposed to be there. His twin brother Tom had died before you even came to Pandora, and Tom was who Grace actually needed for her project. Jake was, unfortunately, the only person who could take Tom's place. When Jake arrived, it was Lyle Wainfleet who informed you of what he looked like before you met him. For some reason, Lyle thought it was funny. He had stormed into the cafeteria, sitting down next to you while you ate a small cup of macaroni and cheese.
"Wainfleet, what? It's my dinner break right now, a bitch needs to eat!" you snap, turning away as he settles down at your table.
"Y/N, Pandora's got her first meal on wheels," he cackles, whispering to you.
"The fuck are you talking about?" you squint, crossing your legs in annoyance.
"Tommy Sully's dead, they've got his brother here-" he continues.
"What.." your expression softens, a scared look plastering across your face. You never knew Tom, but how are you going to break this news to Grace?
"Tom Sully's brother is a crippl-" he raises his eyebrows, trying to speak more clearly for you.
"I don't care about his brother! How are we gonna tell Grace?" you set your fork down into your bowl of food, your appetite already having disappeared.
"Bout Tom?" he grumbles. You nod. "Don't matter, they got the same genome, anyhow. The experiment oughta work either way."
"You don't get it, whatever. Tell me about this new guy," you sigh, checking the time on your wrist.
"His name is Jake Sully, he's a cripple. His legs don't work anymore, some spinal incident or sumth'n. Gets around in a wheelchair now. Good looking guy, Grace is gonna hate him though," he smiles at the last sentence.
"Not funny," you shake your head. "Y'know where he's staying?"
"Yea, residential building 3, unit 01." he looks down at the table.
"Stop playing with me!" your eyes grow wide and you punch Lyle's shoulder, making him laugh again.
"I'm not, that's where he's livin'! What's your problem?" he pushes your hand off, brows furrowing in confusion.
"Oh god," you grumble, burying your face in your hands. His face lights up in realization.
"Looks like someone's got a new roommate!" he teases, getting up from the table and hurrying out of the cafeteria before you can scold him. You accept your reality and get up to throw away your trash, knowing you have to head back to work. How the fuck did you end up with Sully? You knew at some point, all the unimportant people have to room with some other nobody. It's a rule- human camp shouldn't take up too much space. But you were enjoying your time alone. Your apartment was decorated all girly, and you knew it might change now. You just hoped to god that Jake wasn't as bad as he sounded.
When you entered the lab again, Grace was already pissed.
"Who’s got my goddamn cigarette?!” she growls as she sits up, returning from her avatar form. You anxiously watch as an assistant scurries to a nearby drawer, grabbing a box of Newports. “Guys, what’s wrong with this picture?” she waves a hand at the assistant, “Thank you,” and relaxes when she finally gets a lit cigarette in her mouth.
“Grace Augustine is a legend-“ Norm explains from behind you. You spin around, thinking he was just joking with a friend. A gasp leaves your mouth when you see it- Norm walking, guiding a young man in a wheelchair through the lab. That’s Jake, it must be Jake. You sigh and your eyelids flutter as you watch them head towards Grace, knowing that she’s not going to tolerate this switch-aroo. But you cant help but notice the new guy, weirdly handsome. His eyes are striking, intense in a way.
“Norm, hi!” you smile, walking up to him. It’s almost like a desperate attempt to stall Jake from meeting Grace. It’s stupid, you know at some point they’ll have to collide.
“Hey, Y/N! We’ve got Tom’s brother here! Doesn’t he look just like him?” Norm gestures to Jake, stopping in his tracks. You take a look at him- the first good look you’ve had so far, and he is hot. His face is built so well, and you can see his strong shoulders through his tight shirt. But, his gaze is what really makes you melt, the look on his face…
“Hi! I’m Y/N! How are you? Nice to meet you!” you extend a hand out, bending your knees a little bit to get on his level. Your intent was to shake his hand, which works well. He holds out a large, warm hand and gives a firm handshake. You smile and exhale, but it appears Jake isn’t trying to hide that his eyes are traveling back and forth from your cleavage to your face.
“I’m doing good,” his voice is deep and intense and it makes your heart flutter. “See ya at lights out,” he winks at you and you let go of his hand and back up a little. Norm’s brows furrow at this comment, and his nostrils flare a little.
“Oh, uhm, okay!” you awkwardly smile and back away further, getting closer to Norm.
“Who the fuck?” Grace’s voice booms from behind you, and you jump a little. You slowly inch away, leaving the situation. Norm follows. When the two of you are already on the other side of the room, the tense dialogue between Augustine and Sully fades.
“Y/N, you alright? Is that guy hitting on you?” Norm grabs your arm gently, with a concerned voice. “That comment, about lights out, what did he mean?” he questions.
“My god, didn’t tell you yet. We’re fucking roommates,” you whisper yell. “He just moved in today, building 3 unit 01,”
“If you don’t feel safe at any time, tell me, okay? What type of guy is he?” Norm’s hand leaves your arm, and he leans back onto a table.
“I don’t know! This is the first time I’m meeting him!” you facepalm. “So, if you’re wondering… I don’t know anything about him yet,”
“Okay, just- tell me if he bothers you,” Norm says.
“Of course,” you promise, smiling. He creeps away to do lab work, and in the meantime, you walk over to Jake to strike up a conversation.
"Hey," he says, turning himself towards you.
"Hi, what's up?" you sit down across from him, and he comes closer, tilting his head.
"I saw all those polaroids you've got hung up in your bedroom, you look cute in 'em," he leans back in his wheelchair, pretty much ignoring your question.
"In my bedroom?" you question, almost feeling like your privacy has been invaded.
"What, I'm not allowed to check out my new place?" he jokes.
"God, I'm sorry," you laugh and look down at the floor, listening to the noises of everyone pack up for the night. Once you're reminded that you have to live with this guy, you wish time moved slower. "Oh, how was Grace? How did that conversation go?" you change the subject.
"Why don't I tell you about it at home?" he suggests, making a dreadful feeling develop in your stomach. It's something about the thought of sleeping in the same space as this guy, who you now have a crush on, that makes you nervous. What if he walks in on you in the shower? What if you walk in on him? The thought of him calling your place "home" already was enough to make your heart speed up. You know it's stupid, that you're unnecessarily anxious.
"Sure, I'll walk you back, just hold on a second. I've gotta say bye to everyone," you get up from your chair, pretending to not notice Jake looking at your ass. You circled the lab, helping everyone clean up and hugging your friends. Norm and Trudy gossip in the corner, concerned for your safety. You assure them over and over that everything is fine, even though you can feel Jake undressing you with his eyes from across the room. You ignore all their speculations, walking away with your new roommate following.
"They hate me, don't they?" Jake shakes his head as you enter the hallway with him.
"Don't stress about it, they hate everyone. It doesn't help that you're an ex-marine. The marines here are ignorant to what the scientists think," you raise your eyebrows, digging in your pocket for your key.
"I'm not ignorant, I can promise you that," he nods, a smile growing onto his face. You take your key out of your pocket, continuing your walk home. "Not a long commute, huh?" he says.
"Yeah, everyone gets their home depending on where they work. You and me got real lucky: the first unit in the building," you happily approach the door, putting in the key and twisting it. It gets more and more noticeable- the way Jake stares you down. You try to ignore it, kicking off your shoes. "I think I'm just gonna go take a shower," you tell him. He nods, relaxing as you walk off into the bathroom.
You slip off your clothes, reaching for the shower handle and twisting it. As you look in the mirror, waiting for the water to warm up, you can't stop thinking about Jake. It drives you nuts. How can you live with him when his face makes you so horny? Of course, the quickest solution comes to mind. When you step into the shower, your hand immediately slithers down to your clit, where you rub in circles over and over again, warm water coating your body. Soft little noises leave you, you hum in satisfaction at the thought of getting on your knees for him.
After you finally finish, a feeling of shame washes over you. This isn't right, this is weird. It's weird to touch yourself at the thought of your roommate. You decide you need to get rid of this crush; to find an outlet or something. You can't keep yourself like this. Your brain rushes with thoughts as you wash your hair and body. "I'm gonna get over him, I'm gonna get over him, I'm gonna get over him," you whisper to yourself, the sound of the water making you almost silent. "I can't get wound up like this, not for him. None of my friends like him.." you tell yourself. They're all silly, desperate ideas to make you feel calmer.
Stepping out of the shower, your mind is in a tranquil state. You do your skincare, comb your hair, dry your body, put lotion on, etc. You're clean- clean and fresh. Now, you can go to bed. You can just go right to your room, put pajamas on, and sleep. You wrap your naked body in a flimsy towel, wet hair hanging down past your shoulders as you walk out the bathroom door.
"Fuck," a voice from behind you startles you, and the towel almost drops. You clutch it turn around quickly, fear filling your heart. Your cheeks flush red when you see Jake, watching your body attentively.
"Oh, hi- I was just- going to bed..." you awkwardly shy away, feeling bare. You're in nothing but a small, wet towel.
"No you're not, come here," he pats his thigh.
"Jake, what?" you nervously chuckle.
"Sit, here in my lap," he orders again, patting himself harder this time.
"I- don't have anything on," your voice grows soft.
"I know,"
"Not even underwear,"
"I know, why do you think I'm asking? Come here, sit." he growls. At this moment, it's like you've lost all your self respect. You feel like his little slut. You slowly walk towards him, before straddling him on his wheelchair. You clutch your towel tight when you sit, trying not to show yourself. Your breath hitches when your wet cunt presses up on his sweatpants, and he looks you dead in the eye. "What were you doing in the shower, hmm?" he interrogates, intimately moving a wet strand of hair out of your face.
"We've only just met," you push his hand away, shaking your head. "This is too much," you tell him.
"Then why are you still sitting here, pussy pressed up on my leg?" he grabs your hips, holding them tightly. Your eyes widen and you look down in shame, but you don't move. "Yeah, I know how you feel about me. Go on, please yourself." he starts to move your hips ever so slightly, the friction teasing your clit. Your eyes flutter shut as Jake rocks you back and forth with his strong arms.
"Can I tell you something?" you ask through breathy moans.
"In a second, after you cum, okay?" he replies.
"Mhmhmm," you whine, trying to signal a yes. Suddenly, you feel like that scary distance between you and Jake has been filled. Filled with the sound of you whimpering and getting rubbed on his leg, filled with the horny gazes that he gives you and the quick shower masturbation that you sneak. Jake's hands hold you tightly, fingers digging into your plush hips.
"Ditch the towel already, will ya?" he grunts, his hands traveling up to your chest and pulling your towel off of you. You gasp at the cold air that rushes in against your bare body, and your nipples stand upright. Jake throws your towel onto the floor, hands kneading at your breasts now. “Little slut, just met me and you’re already soaking my pants,” he leans back in his chair, reaching for the band of his sweatpants while you desperately pleasure yourself.
“I really wanna tell you something, oh god, I really wanna tell you something,” you mewl, throwing your head back.
“What?” he whispers, pulling his now erect cock out of his pants. You don’t notice, you’re just overwhelmed with pleasure.
“I wanna, wanna get on my knees for you..” you mutter, eyes still clenched shut.
“Hmm?” he slowly strokes himself, watching your body.
“I touched myself,” you lean into Jake, trying to make your words clearer. “Touched myself, at the thought of it,” you finally open your eyes again, only to be met with the sight of his cock. You gasp, the vision being enough to tip you over the edge. You melt into his arms, his dick grazing your lower belly as you slouch into him. He takes you in, holding you sweetly as you finish all over his leg. Your nails dig into his clothed shoulder, and the pinching sensation makes him growl.
“Fuck,” he remarks, gently moving you out of the way to see the arousal stains you’ve left on his pants. With your arms still wrapped around him, you look down, growing shy when you realize how wet you are. “On your knees, now. Show me what you touched yourself to,” he pushes you off of him and you practically crumble onto the floor, legs unstable from the orgasm you had.
“Ah,” you sigh, taking his cock into your hand shyly.
“What did you picture when you were pleasuring yourself, hmm?” he teases. You slowly bring your head to his tip, giving it small licks and kisses. He’s circumcised, groomed well, but not completely hairless. You don’t mind. You keep licking his tip, before expanding to the shaft, salivating down it. His cock throbs, the blood flow making it hot.
“Mm, tastes so good,” you smirk before opening your mouth and engulfing him fully in your mouth, the tip tickling the back of your throat. His base presses up on your nose and he whimpers. For the first time ever, you’ve heard him whimper. You pull away, a string of saliva connected to your lips, and take a deep breath.
“Fuck,” he strokes your head, pulling and holding your hair into a ponytail which he kept a grasp on, keeping your hair out of your face. You go back in, mercilessly sucking him off. The room fills with slurping and choking noises, along with crude moans and breathing. His cock throbs and twitches in your mouth, occasionally squirting out little bursts of pre cum. You grip onto his legs to hold your body steady, even though your knees were beginning to hurt from pressing into the floor. Your head rhythmically bobs up and down.
“Close?” you ask with an aching jaw.
“Mm, yeah,” he sharply exhales, his grip on your hair growing tighter. You keep up the pace, not going any faster or slower. “My god, you’re fucking good at this. Who taught you how to give a blowjob?” he grunts, making eye contact with you. You take his cock deep in your mouth, your lips and tongue pressing tightly against his girth. It hurts so good. The way he pulls your hair, the sting being so pleasurable. The way your jaw hurts from stretching your mouth open wide. The way your knees hurt from sitting on the floor: it’s all the most perfect pain.
“Mmm,” you hum against his tip, making him spill over the edge.
“Shit!” he grunts, spilling a fat load into your mouth. You close your eyes as it squirts out, coating your tongue and the insides of your cheeks. Little droplets of the warm, salty liquid spill out onto your lips, where you lick them up enthusiastically. You met Jake Sully a couple hours ago, and now you’re tasting his semen.
“When was the last time you came like that?” you wipe your mouth, getting up off the floor on wobbly legs.
“C’mere, you can hardly walk,” he says, reaching out and pulling you into his embrace, where you relax, sitting on top of him. You rest your head on his shoulder and curl up into a ball in his lap, he holds you sweetly and strokes your hair. “Where’d you learn to suck dick?” he asks.
“Um, I mean- I was never taught,” you close your eyes.
“Beginner’s luck, huh?” he chuckles.
“I guess,” your voice is raspy, probably because you just had a dick down your throat.
“C’mon, where do you wanna sleep?” he begins to move his wheelchair.
“Next to you,” you say, picking your head and and looking at him. You notice his features up close and trace little shapes on his cheek. “So pretty, Jake. You’re so pretty.” you remark.
“So, my room?” he ignores your touches.
“Anywhere you want,” you lean in, kissing him on the mouth. He takes his hand off of the wheel, holding your face as he kisses back. It’s a sweet kiss. Jake closes his eyes, stops in his tracks, and holds you.
“Your room, then,” he pulls away, smiling at you. It’s the first real smile you’ve got from him. You melt like putty into him while he heads towards your bed. The comforter is white, the sheets are pink, the room smells like you. Smells like home.
He sets you down gently onto the bed, and you crawl in, immediately relaxing in the warm blanket. He gets in after you, taking his shirt off before he tucks himself in.
“Love you, Jake.” you whisper, turning over in bed and cupping his cheek. He turns to look at you, but doesn’t meet your eyes.
“Babe, you’re gonna have to put some clothes on, or else I’ll be hard all night,” he jokes. You ignore that remark, and stare at his abs instead. But your eyes travel down, and something pokes through the blanket under his torso.
“No way,” you shake your head. “You’re an animal!”
“Yeah, I’m also hard. Come here, ride me.” he pats his torso, leaning back completely.
“I don’t wanna be limping tomorrow at work,” you complain.
“Fuck work, come here, ride me.” he orders. Annoyed (but also insanely horny), you hop onto him, straddling him yet again. A euphoric smile crosses his face as you line his wet cock up with your dripping entrance. “Push down now,” he holds your hips tightly, slowly shoving them down. But you resist, confusing him.
“I’m nervous,” you whine.
“Why? What’s wrong?” he kneads the flesh on your ass.
“Don’t know, it’s just-,” you stutter.
“You just rode my thigh and then sucked my dick, there’s nothing to be nervous about.” he teases. You sigh in response. He’s right. “Go on now, I’ll help ya,” he holds you tight as you lower yourself on his cock.
“Mmph!” you grunt, arching your back as the tip stretches you out. Jake gasps, pushing you down further until your clit touches his base. His dick stretches you out far, your walls clench around him tightly. “Oh, oh god,” you pant, toes curling with pleasure. His tip brushes up against your cervix and you cry out.
“Fuck, you’re tight. Relax for me, okay? Take a deep breath,” he pats you lovingly. Your brows furrow as you watch his cock go in and out slowly, and little squeaks come out with every shallow breath you take. “Deep breaths, want me to do ‘em with you?” he offers.
“Y-yeah,” you whimper. His hand traces along your belly and he breathes in slowly through his mouth, making it especially loud for you to follow along. You follow along with him, his cock still balls deep inside of you. Your muscles relax, allowing you to take him with less pain.
“Hurting?” he asks, his grip on you loosening.
“A little, in a good way,” you moan, slowly speeding up. You can feel little vein and twitch, and the slight curve that he has in his dick. Your warm, wet pussy squeezes him tight. It clamps on him harder with every little movement you make. “My god!” you yelp, the stimulation starting to become too much for you.
“I know, I know, just come for me, okay?” he bounces under you as you ride him. “Come all over my cock, real quick, okay?” he grunts.
“Yes, yes!” you throw your head back, stomach coiling as your orgasm nears. Your legs shake more, and Jake grabs your hips again to keep bouncing you. Your hands hold into his pecs for balance, your eyes clench shut. All the deep breathing flies out the window, and you’re back to desperate panting.
“Goddamn, gah-,” he whimpers. Your hands squeeze his chest tightly and your cunt squeezes his dick when you come. You fall forward into him embrace, legs shaking. Your heat contracts around him. You pull your hips away, his wet cock coming out. A squelching noise becomes audible when it leaves you, his cum dripping out of your hole after it. The substance was more watery, after you’d already milked him a few minutes earlier.
“Oh my god,” you hug him, tucking your head into the crook of his neck and desperately trying to catch your breath.
“Shh, shh, it’s okay.” he coos.
“I think being your roommate will work out just fine,” you kiss his neck.

Have you seen the new Quaritch and Spiders footage? I can't wait to see what it's all about! Do you have any thoughts on that? <3
I did! It was weird actually. I tend to stay off of my devices until I’m having breakfast but for some reason I just had to check YouTube not long after I woke up and sure enough Avatar Theory had posted a video on the new images. I actually thought it was an edit with Quaritch’s little hoodie. It’s just so funny to me that they made a bunch of merch for a team that’s down to two. (Unless they have backup clones of the recoms but I doubt that) I wanted to take some time to collect my thoughts and see others takes but I think I’m ready now.

I don’t want to get to in depth over things others have gone over. Yes Spider’s been accepted by the Metkayina from his new look and tattoo. (And good god did they accept him quickly because the wound on his chest doesn’t even look fully healed yet. Hell yeah to the Metkayina for that) Yes Quaritch in his silly little hoodie looks really happy to see him but also yeah he’s probably on his bullshit.
I’m thinking more of where does this fall in the story based off of what we already know. I feel like this is probably pretty early on. We know from script leaks that there’s some kind of oil rig/ sea base that I imagine Quaritch and Wainfleet run to right after the battle at three brothers. If I’m using Spider’s wound as a time marker (which I acknowledge could be a little faulty. Different skin tones scar differently and I only have my own to go off of. My skin either changes texture or turns darker. It never permanently stays red which is why I believe Spider’s wound is still fairly fresh) then I believe it’s only been a few weeks since the battle at three brothers rock. So in that time Quaritch would have regrouped, strategized a raid and then executed it, capturing Spider again and who know’s who else.
But I think this will be short lived when the Ash Clan rocks up

I know this isn’t a still from the movie but look at the background

That’s the cove of the ancestors. For better or (most likely) worse they are showing up on Sea people land. My guess would be that they’re trying to take them over but end up in a fire fight with the R.D.A instead. This would be why Quaritch and Jake decide to team up going off of Stephan Lang’s interview.

We also know at some point Spider is going to be able to breath Pandoran air thanks to Kiri preforming a miracle. I’m on the fence of when this would be in the film. I think it would work in the beginning of the movie, like Spider gets injured in the initial fire fight, is healed by Kiri and this event acts as the catalyst for Quaritch and Jake’s contentious alliance. But also I like the idea of it being in the climax of the film. After a series of backstabbing and manipulation on Quaritch’s part with Spider trying to legitimately turn his father to the good guys side, Spider gets injured in the big final battle. It’s playing out like Neteyam’s death when Kiri saves him. Quaritch would of course be greatfull. But the miracle also adds to the confusion that Slang talks about here:

Maybe it’s because I’m currently rewatching The Venture Bro’s right now (which is my favorite show hands down and has a lot of messy father son relationships in it) But this sounds to me like Quaritch admires Spider for everything Quaritch himself could have been under different circumstances. Because Spider and Quaritch do share personality traits. Willful, stubborn, values loyalty. And Quaritch is proud of Spider for that. He loves his feisty son. But I imagine he’s also jealous of Spider’s heart. Because Spider is actually pretty open with his emotions. He doesn’t try to hide when he’s crying or when he’s scared. He’s at least emotionally attuned to his friends since when he sees he’s made Kiri uncomfortable by making fun of who her dad is, he immediately turns the conversation onto himself to take the unwanted attention. Spider at his heart is kind and empathetic and I can see Quaritch valuing that while also being envious of what he isn’t. And because he dosen’t think he can be like that he might seek to stomp that out of Spider. So after a big emotional back and forth of Spider trying to save his dad and Quaritch trying to corrupt his son out of jealousy, he nearly watches his only son die only to be saved by a god he would never have believed in. I think that would be an interesting place to leave him before getting into Avatar 4.
But also I’ve read script leaks of Jake and Norm talking about Spider being able to breath Pandoran air and how they can never let the R.D.A get him. So maybe the miracle happens in the opening of the film and becomes a big plot point. (Or maybe that script is from Avatar 4?) Maybe Quaritch attacks, ends up hurting his son in the process, Kiri saves him and then a stunned Quaritch snatches Spider up on instinct, not thinking “hey the science devision of the R.D.A might want to dissect my kid for this!” Maybe Jake attacks the base to get Spider back (which is some redemption I’d love to see) and they’re successful because conveniently the Ash Clan attacks at the same time.
We know Quaritch and maybe Lyle too will be captured by the Ash Clan at some point from this image

So maybe in a fun uno reverse. Quaritch capture Spider only to be captured himself by Varang five minutes later. Or Quaritch willingly gives himself up after seeing Varangs forces first hand and goes to make a deal with her that quickly gets out of hand forcing Quaritch to make an alliance with Jake.
So those are my very unorganized thoughts. Honestly at first the only thing I could thinks was:
Quaritch and Spider: Your family member traumatized you? Just traumatize them back.
I don’t call myself dumbass for nothing after all.
I’d love to hear everyone else’s thoughts so please feel free to comment, add on to this post, or message me. 💙

I Almost Lost You... (Rotxo X Reader)
Not Requested.
*********************************************************************
I LOVE HIM BUT WHY IS HE SO CUTE??
*********************************************************************
Scenario: A review of how much Rotxo really loves you.
Warnings: Rotxo gets...violent, so be warned. There's fighting and blood and injuries.
Pairing: Rotxo X Fem! Reader.
Fem Reader Description: Click ---> LINK
*********************************************************************
Third Person POV
Rotxo wasn't too familiar with human hair, but he was familiar with long hair because of Tsireya's . whenever she needed her hair done, she sometimes asked Rotxo, because he was usually always with her and Aonung and was more convenient. At least, that's how it started, but eventually, he just started fixing her hair, and she let him. At first, Aonung used to tease them, calling them the "secret lovers," until Rotxo met you. You were like Jake: an avatar, but you were turned full Na'vi too young. In the war between the Metkayina and a recombinant Quaritch, you'd been shot, taking the bullet meant for Neteyam. The oldest Sully kid had screamed himself hoarse at you, a shock against his usually gentle nature. He'd screamed and cried, calling you stupid, why would you do that, what the hell is wrong with you, until you'd cried, telling him that he was more important, what would Tuk do without you, or your mother and brother and sister? But Jake forced (not really) Norm to make you a recom as well, bringing you back from the brink of death.
Rotxo was...shaken, to say the least, and everyone was a little surprised. He hadn't shown that much interest until you showed up, and the moment you were shot and he found out, oh, boy. He flipped, like a switch, going straight after the guy that shot you. Or, he tried to, but Neteyam and Aonung wouldn't let him. That was the first time Rotxo had willingly punched Neteyam in the face, trying to get to the guy, vision blacked out with anger as you lay behind them, bleeding, as Norm tried to save you. Jake was there, as was Neytiri, Lo'ak, Kiri, Tuk, Tsireya.
Rotxo did apologize later for punching Neteyam, but Neteyam, at the time, hadn't even flinched, really, just kept pushing Rotxo back.
The last straw was the guy laughing at the scene like he didn't care. At that point, Aonung had looked once at Tsireya...and he backed up. And Rotxo bolted. "Rotxo, no!" Tsireya shouted, drawing attention, but it was too late.
Rotxo raced for the ship, hearing Tsireya shouting his name and someone (he wasn't sure who) coming after him. He leaped from ilu to ship, feet slamming into one of the human men and sending him flying off the side before he ducked from some sort of sixth sense and grabbed the gun aimed at his face, yanking it from the hands of the man, and slamming it sideways into the man's face without even thinking. The man crumpled, head bleeding, and Rotxo swung again, breaking another's nose. The man cried out, dropping to his knees, and Rotxo hissed, slamming the butt into his face, knocking him out. Tsireya and Aonung stared, stunned, like the others, as Rotxo fought, all alone, against at least thirty humans.
He hit another in the face, knees dropping to the metal deck as he fell with him, punching him again.
"All this for some girl?!" One of the men screamed. Rotxo froze, breath catching. All this for some girl?! He turned slowly, like some sort of movie villain, eyes cold. Tsireya shuddered just seeing it. Rotxo stood, taller than the man. The man gulped, eyes wide. "She is not some girl," Rotxo spit, hands curling into fists. "She is a Sully, and she is far better than you." He hissed, ears laid flat. "The Sullys are worthless," The man spit. He didn't finish before Rotxo knocked him flat. "Don't touch the Sullys," He snarled, tail thrashing. There was only three men left. They shared a look. One tossed his gun, which clattered at Rotxo's feet. "C'mon." He said, backing away from Rotxo. The other two dropped their guns, raising their hands, and turned, bolting. One actually tripped climbing over the railing.
Rotxo turned, seeing the others staring, wide-eyed. "Holy, shit." Lo'ak said in the silence. Another voice made him freeze. "Rotxo?" You asked, blinking, dazed.
He moved before he could think, running to you and dropping to his knees. "Oh, my God, are you okay? Are you hurt?" He started rambling at top speed, and you just blinked at him, confused. "I'm fine," You whispered, then remembered being shot and gasped, yanking your shirt off your shoulder, peering at the skin. It was blue, scattered with your Avatar's syuratan, the glowing, bioluminescent dots. "What---" "It's okay, you're okay." Rotxo breathed, and started to cry as he hugged you.
Your heart squeezed as you hugged him back. "Shh, I'm okay," You whispered, face buried in his neck. Neytiri watched, a smile on her face. The family knew you'd been attracted to Rotxo, and vice versa, since you'd both met. He couldn't stop seeing you, couldn't stop talking to you, and you wouldn't shut up about him. "Rotxo, I--" You began, but then he was kissing you, gently and softly, and you forgot about everything else.
Even Aonung and Lo'ak pretending to puke behind you both. "I See you," Rotxo whispered, nose pressed to yours. "I See You," You whispered back. Rotxo stood, turning to Neteyam. "Sorry for punching you...earlier." Neteyam blinked, his gold eyes moving from him to you. "It's fine. I understand. Thank you for protecting my sister," He smiled sweetly. You stood, fingers curling around Rotxo's. "Yeah. Thanks." You kissed his cheek.
He smiled. "Always, Y/N."

Spit in my face, my love, it won't faze me
Spider felt a lot of things at the moment. Cold, hot, empty, full. But mostly he felt lonely.
His vision was going blurry, darkening at the edges. He couldn't make out his own hand in front of his face, but he recognized his own blood coating it. If he had to guess, he had wounds on his stomach, arms, legs and back. His whole body was just one big bruise at this point, aching and throbbing like never before. In a sense, he got the blue stripes he'd always wanted. Nevermind the fact that they weren't stripes, just blue spots that were close enough together for him to mistake them as such.
The thing that definitely hurt the most was the cut around his throat, bleeding sluggishly and coating his body in blood. He had a feeling that it was the source of his trouble with breathing, come to think of it.
Now that he was laying on a cold ship deck and 100% dying, he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. It was like all the emotions and trauma he'd been compartmentalising these past few months decided to pull a quick one on him and now he had so many fears and regrets. He regrets going to the shack, being born, trying to be Na'vi, not doing something while they hunted that tulkun, not doing more when the Na'vi were being threatened. And he was afraid, were the others safe? Did Quaritch let Kiri go? Have they fled the ship just yet? Are they safe?
A selfish, horrible, human part of him wishes they stayed. And because he is dying; he decides to indulge himself with those selfish fantasies of his. He imagines Lo'ak being there, telling him about the trouble he'd gotten up to without him, Kiri talking about the plants and the animals. Tuk showing him a cool shell she found, maybe Neteyam venting about his frustrations or something. Anything but the sound of fading screams and crackling flames.
The smell of blood and petrol hung in the air like a thick fog; clouding his senses with the copper scent. The ocean breeze felt like hell against his open wounds. It was freezing out here, and incredibly dark. Really, he should be happy the others got away. Overjoyed, thankful even. But he selfishly wishes to not be alone right now.
"Spider?"
The voice echoes in his ears. Oh. Oh, it sounds familiar, oddly so. He felt a strange sort of calm rush over him; something like acceptance. It felt like a warm blanket on his beaten and broken body; one he desperately needed. No one has made him feel safe like this, ever, except for maybe….
"J--Jake?"
He hates how weak and uncertain his voice sounds, carried like some kind of fragile chord over the winds. He feels a set of hands, warm and realer than what he could've imagined by himself, pawing at his injuries. He sees blue skin and yellow eyes, and he has to laugh at the absurdity of it.
"Jake, you came back…" he says in astonishment, not seeing the hurt look flashing over the man's face. "Are the others okay? Where are they?" He asked, spluttering out a cough and tasting metal in his throat.
"They're okay, Spider, son, they're okay." He says in English, and Spider doesn't think that's weird at all. He nods to the best of his ability, giving him a wide grin. "Did--did we get them? The demons? Did I do good?"
"Yes, son, we got all of them. Everyone is safe. You did so good, you were amazing, I promise."
He sighs in relief. At least he had that little bit of solace during his last moments. At least he had that. And you know, he had Jake. Jake was here, and now he wasn't alone. He hadn't realised he was scared of being alone until he was. Dying alone, he'd never considered it, but that was his reality until a couple minutes ago. Jake saved him from having to face that, even if he couldn't save him from his wife. In his heart of hearts, he knows he never intended to.
"Jake, I'm tired–, it–, it hurts. I'm just so tired…" he whispers, strength draining from his body like a river flowing to the ocean. He feels a kiss pressed to his temple as Jake pulls him to his chest; the feeling of his vest against his skin all too alien. The man bit back a sob, instead breathing heavily and unevenly.
"It's okay, son, it's okay. You can go to sleep, you've earned it. Me and the others, we'll all be here when you wake up, okay?" He promises and Spider desperately agrees. "You did so well, we're all so proud of you and we love you, you know that, right? Everything that happened before, that doesn't matter. I love you, Spider." He says with the desperation of a prayer.
"Really…? Even Neytiri?" He asks weakly. The other nods, running a hand through his dreads. "Yes, even her." The boy has to smile at that. "It's so cold." He says, and Jake adjusts his grip so they're better pressed together. "Better?" He asks, and Spider offers a weak nod.
"Oel ngati kameie, Jake.." he whispers. It is the last thing he says before he goes, hopefully being accepted by Eywa. "Oel Ngati kameie, son." His voice sounds broken, but certain. It is the last thing he hears before the world goes dark and his body goes limp.
Quaritch looked at his son's dead body and felt cold. He wonders if this is the same chill Spider felt just now. Like a gaping hole in his chest that the wind passes through, carrying its saltwater breeze like poison. Sully and his brood are gone; left him behind without a second thought. The children had this look of shock when Spider crumpled to the floor the first time, victim to their own mother. They might have screamed. They might have cried. Quaritch doesn't remember nor care.
In his final moments, Spider wanted Jake, the man who left him for dead twice now. And Quaritch could've corrected him easily, but it seemed so needlessly cruel. Spider was dying, his son was dying, why deny him the fantasy in his head? The dreams of family and acceptance that he was never afforded, not by the people he desperately needed it from. So yes, he let his son think it was Jake who held him while he died, and that his crazy wife really did care, even though she's responsible for this. It was disrespectful to the highest degree, but Quaritch thinks that his son is allowed to spit in his face, just this once.
It was enough for Spider, who looked peaceful in his arms, eerily still and pale. He wonders if he should leave him here, let the Sullys find him and give him the burial he wanted. He wonders if the fish would get his body first, or the fire. He wonders if they'd return at all, opting to let the ship burn itself down. It certainly sounds like Sully. He sighs.
Mind made up, he approached his ikran. The journey to the Omaticaya would be long, so it's best that he starts moving. At the very least, he'd make sure his son would be put to rest where he called home. He wouldn't take that from him, not in death, at least.

Hello! I Just recently started developing Spider brainrot and I'm just now starting to interact with the fandom. I haven't even considered Aocorro as a thing before but can I just say that your series had me HOOKED? amazing, wonderful series, I'm loving it.
Greetings!
Sorry it's taken me forever to get back to you. But thank you so much! I'm really glad that our interaction wasn't a traumatizing one. This fandom can get a little scary sometimes.
Honestly, this pairing struck me over the head so randomly one day, and I immediately became obsessed. My poor roommates had to listen to me prattle on about my theories about Spider and Ao'nung getting together. I think they were just humoring my little delulu self.
I think their dynamic would be so perfectly slotted together. I know Ao'nung's original name was Nu'nung and Spider's was Javier, which had me thinking about Neytiri and Jake's Enemies to lovers trope, and I saw a lot of parallels. A na'vi with some serious distaste for humans or anything human related and an outcast that doesn't fit in anywhere? Um yes please.
But then I remembered the movie. After Neteyam died, I think, (at least I hope), Ao'nung won't be so prejudice against good humans and Avatars. Like his hate for the RDA will SPIKE. He lost a friend, and is overall probably traumatized from the three brothers battle, almost losing his life and his sister's will do that to anyone. But I think he'll give Spider a chance if the Sully claim him as theirs.
More so, shifting to Spider a little bit, Cameron wasn't kidding when he said Spider is the glue. The more I looked at this kid from different angles the more I fell down the rabbit hole. We don't see much of Jake's life on Earth, but we know it sucked, he was an alcoholic reject after he lost everything he had going for him, movie happens, we met Neytiri, a wonderful person and complex character who's lost a lot too but she still got something to fight for. Like Jake, we don't see too much of her life before their meeting. But together the pair make history, however it's also with Quaritch. We don't know about Quaritch and Paz, except that they loved Spider, and maybe just maybe they were trying to make a good life for their baby out there. Couldn't be much worst than the Earth Jake showed us right?
Now, we have a proper history. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah, We have the Sully family (which will take on the protagonist roles from A3 and onward) and we have Spider. Their parents took shit away from each other. Spider lost his entire family, and after FoP probably a chunk of sanity after the Neurosect. He's always been the reject. And the Sully siblings lost Neteyam, their grandfather, their ancestral home, their new home, and friends, and way of life.
I say this with no hate to Jake, love this babygirl mwah, but he lied straight to his kids faces and told them Spider would be fine. He's a marine, like Ardmore, he know being a kid will not save you if your in enemy hands. Like he's right, there wasn't anything he could do once Spider got to BridgeHead. That would be a suicide mission.
Spider probably doesn't have a lot of trust in the Sully's adults after A2. Like they are on the same side, they want the same thing, but Spider knows they will not hesitant to leave him. (As seen in the comics). (I actually have a theory going that in A3 or A4 once the family start getting chased again, Spider will immediately split from the pack and look to save himself, because in his mind the Sully's will be fine. They will not help me, which will cause Jake to freak out, like where is my SON?). Spider was treated more like a kid by the recoms than the other adults. I think it was Prager or Wainfleet trying to guide/comfort him after Quaritch goes down with Cupcake. (Which I lowkey hope we see some moments of Spider with them. Him with his Auntie and Uncles). Whatever...
My point is, the series is about the kids, them growing up in a time of war, their families hating each other, but they themselves love each other. Like if Romeo and Juliet were the 'only childs' of their familes that found solace in each other as siblings.
The history of their species and families are going to be additonal pressure points in the next couple of movies.
And I don't think there'll be times that they won't blame each other.
"Oh your mother was going to kill me!"
"Your dad burnt my hometree!"
"Did you forget your dad helped him?"
"You saved a monster"
"A monster that saved my life twice, more than anyone else did!"
Moving forward, I genuinely believe these other teens ( The Metkayina, and the wind-trader teen) are going to be a source of comfort for the siblings to express their grief and raging emotions to. We know for sure that going to their parents in this situation would lead to. A bias judgement in which they try to influence their children with their own emotions. Neytiri blaming Spider and Quaritch convincing Spider that the Sullys never cared about him. I know Spider didn't have anyone outside the Sully siblings to express himself too. As a scientist myself, all the other scientist I know aren't the best with emotions, or children. Besides, Spider doesn't want to be seen in a negative light with these pent up frustrations. Again, which is why I think he is going to latch the fuck onto new friends who don't have a judgement on his family history.
So looking at everyone else's interpretations of Ao'nung I see him as a learner of sorts. He's an asshole, sure, but he's starting to recognize he doesn't know people without seeing them. He likes testing boundaries, but has always lived a such comfortable life, that meeting a stray cat like Spider makes him feel serious things that make him mature a little more. Being with Spider is going to let him push and pull boundaries to his comfort level.
Spider doesn't take shit from anyone, but doesn't let himself open up. So I think he and Ao'nung could really balance each other out with their experiences. Ao'nung makes a snide comment that's a little too out of line, Spider's stomping on his toes. Spider refusing to eat or sleep till he feels like he's properly earned his keep? (Because stray cats have to fight a spot to sleep). Ao'nung's smothering him with love or picking him up and dragging him back to dinner.
So sorry with the long winded answer, but thank you. These two have lived rent free in my head for months and its driving me a little bit mad. So I just really want the community to see what I see and make some more fanart/fiction so I can sit back and just read it myself.
What about you? Got any ideas about those two?

I want to really start writing love thy enemy chapter 2 but I don't know how to start it. The main point of chapter is done.
I guess I have to make this a drabble. I want to write how Reader Chan met Lyle Wainfleet.
It doesn't add up to the story. I don't want this scene to go to waste. Here you go.

You were admiring the cute little feline animal the Colonel caught for you when he was on tour in the jungle. After you began to date him. He made not only your life but your friend's lives good.
Like today, he and his elite team protected the some scientist while they collected whatever they wanted from the Pandora jungle. Risking their lives for a group of people they hate.
The Marine soldiers were curious why their leader was nice to those science pukes. Of course they couldn't ask their superior.
The Colonel was annoyed that you begged him not to make the relationship public. He felt offended. Were embarrassed to be with him? You told him how you wanted him to speak to your dad first and wait a few weeks. You never loved a man before. Minus the jerk who wanted to marry you back on Earth just for your pretty face. He broke your heart.
So, of course you have trust issues. The Colonel video chatted your dad. Your dad was actually upset. The Colonel was perhaps only ten years younger than him. Might as well be his younger brother and your uncle!
Your dad knew you liked older men. But not this old! But, your father remembered how like your mother. You and her were subjugated all their lives. A pretty doll. That's it. The young generations didn't value love and went for lust only. So, he reluctantly gave his blessings to the Colonel.
The Colonel didn't like your dad. Quaritch felt offended when he saw the rich man look at him with distaste. He didn't need to rub in his age.
Whatever. Your father was a handsome lad, Quaritch admitted. But, Quaritch also pitied the older man. He looked tired from all his philanthropy shit and childish optimism goals. Your father will kill himself from exhaustion.
Now, Quaritch would sneak around the base. Fucking the shit out of you whenever he had the chance no matter how busy you were with your work. He wanted to touch you in public like holding your hand and show affections and yes that included kissing.
From the what the Colonel told you, the feline cat already lost his mom. And you believed his men were not the reason for the mothers death.
So, you were playing with it while waiting for Max to record some video logs Jake was producing.
"Hey." A male voice boomed.
You looked up to see a shaved head Marine with muscles and tattoos. Is he a friend of Jake?
"Mind if I touch your pussy?" He grinned.
Everyone around the room became quiet. Your mouth dropped in shock. You never been insulted so bluntly and in public before. Not even on Earth!
The jerk snickered at your expression. "I meant your cat." He pointed at the now hissing feline.
You glared and stood up. He blinked and wondered what will you do. You slapped him! His face was moved to the side.
"Get away from her!" Jake yelled while he rolled his wheelchair over to you.
The bald guy turned his face back at you and held his hands up in mocking surrender. He told Jake that the Colonel wanted to speak with him.
They both left the lab and all your friends huddled over to comfort you. You were shaking and still scared that you were sexually harassed in broad daylight.
The Colonel spoke to Jake and then noticed something was off. Lyle and Jake never got along but the tension was worse. Whatever. He got enough problems on his plate.
The Colonel was upset that you were not in his office. It was his lunch break. He told you to meet him there.
He got annoyed when you didn't text back and he had enough. He rudely barged in the science wing of the other pukes. He ignored the stares when the other scientists noticed his presence in their lab bedrooms.
He kicked your door open.
He found you in your bed with that short and fat scientist Max and another female Medic rubbing your shoulder. You looked up with your teary eyes to see your secret lover.
The Colonel ordered your friends to leave.
"The Fuck were you?" His eyes softened when he saw your dead expression. Your boyfriend sat next to you in your bed.
You blurted what happened.
"What did the soldier look like?"
Quaritch was angry when you described him as his Marine.
You shrugged. "I don't know. He said you sent him to pick up Sully for a report."
In cold fury, Quaritch clenched his jaw. "Lyle." He hissed.

The Colonel grabbed your chin and made you look at him. "I am going to make us public. I don't know why you want to keep this a secret. You're not safe unless people know you belong to me."
Your eyes widened. It's too soon. You didn't tell your friends yet.
"But ..."
The Colonel's look made you shut up.
He told you how you are to go his room immediately. You better be there when he comes back. He will send female staff soldiers to bring your belongings to his quarters. Or should you say your quarters.
While you were waiting for your boyfriend at his room. The Colonel was looking for Lyle. He went to the gym. The bunks and then the pilot garage.
There stood Wainfleet and other soldiers.
When they saw the Colonel walk they saluted him with respect. The Colonel wordlessly punched Lyle in the abs which caused him to clutch his stomach from pain.
The others stared in shock.
"Stay away from my girl." Quaritch snarled as he looked down at Wainfleet's pathetic form on the ground.
Lyle looked up in confusion.
Quaritch explained. "Name belongs to me. If I catch you disrespecting her again you will be resigned from your corporal status."
He looked at the others. "That goes for the rest of you."
"Yes, Sir!" They said in unison.
You were sitting on the king sized bed of your new room. You watched buff female staff bring in your belongings and your cat was sleeping on your lap.
The Colonel came in and visibly relaxed after seeing you obey him. He didn't wait for the staff to leave. He sat next to you and kissed you. "I am sorry I couldn't protect you. But, it's your fault in a way. If everyone knew about us. They wouldn't hurt you."
You laid your head on his shoulder blade. "I'm sorry for being foolish."
He wrapped his arm around you. He knew the female staff would gossip. Good. Everyone must know who you belonged to.
He was still on his lunch break...
The Colonel smirked. He ordered the staff to leave and stripped you and noticed the cat staring at him as he nailed into you.
This was why the Colonel preferred dogs.

This concept art has been living in my head rent free
This concept art of Spider with a kuru literally keeps me up some nights wondering what it means. I got so excited over the new D23 concept art that I went looking through some old Avatar stuff I had saved and came across this again, which reignited all the burning questions I have about it.
Concept art typically leads to two outcomes: either it gets scrapped and removed from the plot or it gets refined and is eventually realized within the story. The same is true for this particular piece of concept art. Its existence means it's either:
A) an old idea that they ended up scrapping, or
B) it's an idea they're going with and will eventually be realized in the movies.
The reason I keep myself up at night wondering whether its A or B is because of the context of this concept art. The art was originally shown on a gigantic screen at some big avatar showcase thing in Los Angeles. There's no way showing this was some oversight or mistake. Unlike the script that was shown on accident, this was shown to avatar fans INTENTIONALLY. Which leaves me with the question of why they would show such a shocking concept on purpose?
If option A is right and this is just an old idea they scrapped, why show people? This isn't a minor change (ie switching the Metkayina eye color from yellow to blue/green) that won't really make an impact on the plot. Spider growing a kuru would be a massive change that would radically effect the story. I think I read somewhere that James Cameron at some point wanted the character Trudy to return as a recombinant like Quaritch, but scrapped the idea because the actress, Michelle Rodriguez, didn't want to reprise her role. Could you imagine if before Avatar 2 released, they showed concept art of Trudy as recom, and everyone got all excited to see how that would play out, only for it to be revealed that it was an old scrapped idea and we were never going to see it on screen? That would be such a confusing and disappointing thing to do. This is how I feel about this concept art. If it's never going to happen, why show it at all? Since intentionally showing concept art for an idea they scrapped doesn't make any sense, that makes me wonder if option B is right, but option B doesn't make a lot of sense either.
If option B is right, once again, why show people? That's a MASSIVE spoiler. Showing this image would be like if they showed concept art of Neteyam's funeral before Avatar 2 released, spoiling the major death of the story. It wouldn't make any more sense to spoil a big death than it would to spoil such a radical change like Spider getting a kuru. I'll admit that when I first saw this image, I accepted it at face value and I made this long post theorizing that Spider will get a kuru and that this will somehow be connected to the leaked script where he gets the ability to breathe the Pandoran air, but since then I've rethought my position. It just doesn't make sense to me that they would show it on purpose if they actually do intend to give Spider a kuru in Avatar 3. But at the same time, it also doesn't make sense that they would show a scrapped idea that's so wildly out of the range of what we know is possible in the avatar universe.
Unless there's some secret third option I'm missing, I'm going to keep wondering and wondering whether this image is just a scrapped idea or a real spoiler of what's to come. I guess I'll get my answer when Avatar 3 finally comes out and this idea happens or not, but I'll still wonder why they showed it.
Do you guys think this concept art is depicting a scrapped idea or a spoiler, and why? And does anyone have any idea why they would show this regardless if its a scrap or a spoiler?

Can we get a neteyam x human reader?? She's lyle's daughter, also human and made friends with spider. When lo'ak comes to save him, he wants to take her with him but she can't just leave her dad here
You can end it however you want
Hellooooooooooo sweetie~!!
So I hope you dont mind this being a short one, but its a good one! Enjoy~!!
---------
Yewn
“Do you ever think we might see them…?” Young spider asks his sister at arms, Yewn. The young girl thinks about the question and shakes her head. “I don't think so, they are dead for a long time. It is like Jake said, good riddance” she replies.
Both lay down on top of the old lab shack, staring up at the night sky.
“They were bad guys, and killed a lot of the na’vi…” Spider says, convincing himself of certain feelings.
“Exactly. So stop thinking about our dads, I bet they won't even care if they do come back from the dead”
“Kid, you won't last another day if you don't eat, '' Lyle Wainfleet says. He bends down looking rather tired and slightly annoyed. 16 year old yewn just stared at him as if he was the worst shit on the entire planet. To which he is in her eyes.
“Fuck off” was all she says time and time again.
“Yewn-”
“Shut up, don't call me that. You have no right to call me that!” yewn yells at him in anger. A lot was happening in such a short time. Her friends were attacked and held hostage, went to help, spider’s mask broke, stayed behind to help him, only to be taken and be separated from him.
The room is cold, colder than the labs. Everything was so lifeless. She hated it.
But there is nothing more she hates, than the man, or dreamwalker in front of her.
“If you don't eat, you will die, '' Lyle tells her again. And again, yewn just hisses at him.
“Good, I would rather die than confess anything to you or that old bitch!”
Lyle rolls his eyes, hopefully quaritch has better luck than him.
Her plan was cut way too short. Spider took the lead in showing the recoms how to climb, run, and jump through the big vines and floating mountains. Spider was a true expert in that field, so yewn stayed a little more behind. By adding more pressure to the weak points of the vines, the goal was to tear some down but the recoms would step on them by their own body weight. Spider was doing the same, the plan was to have them all step in a weak vine so that they can fall to their deaths.
Obviously that didn't work.
Lyle was quick to catch what she and spider were doing. While he did not report to Quaritch what they were quietly doing, lyle took it upon himself to straighten the kids out.
“If you want us dead, it will take a lot more than that” he tells Yewn. And yewn would take note of it. Next time, she will do better.
“Getting the hang of it now” Lyle says as he flies on his ikran with yewn. The girl missed flying up high in the sky. The thrill of doing amazing tricks, how nete-
No, while Yewn is still in the human's custody, no thoughts of him will appear in her mind. Anything can happen and they can use whatever she accidently shares against her.
Besides, there is something else occupying her mind and her full attention.
“Come on bro! We have to get them, they are still on the ship!” Lo’ak pleads to neteyam. It didnt take much to convince the older brother, nodding eagerly, both head deeper to the ship to find their friends. All the while trying to avoid enemies all around.
Quietly they climb up some pipes and hide, lo’ak points downwards to see spider and yewn being shoved somewhere.
“We get it! We are going, fucking bastards” spider cusses at the humans behind him. Him and yawn look really annoyed, but oddly compliant. Taking the chance, the brothers jumped and began to attack the humans.
Yewn and spider were surprised to see them but quickly catched on. Fighting as well, the four managed to take down the humans around them. Taking the weapons, neteyam, lo’ak, spider and yewn were armed and ran for the edge of the ship.
“Come on, come on! We are almost there!” neteyam yells, shoving yewn forward until bullets were being shot.
“GO GO GO!” spider yells, he and lo’ak jump first into the sea. But yewn and neteyam couldnt in time.
“Yewn get back over here!”
Neteyam turns to see a false avatar, his gun pointing at him.
“I won't tell you again, come here now!” the fake shouted. Neteyam looks down and sees yewn shaking. Was it fear? Hesitance?
She was close to taking a step forward but neteyam stopped her.
Yewn looks up at him, ready to cry.
“Are you insane!? Lets go, he won't hurt you again” neteyam burgers her, shifting her closer to the edge but yewn fights back. “No no! You don't get it! I can't just leave him!” Yewn shouts. Her fear and desperation growing.
“Yes you can, he hurt you!” neteyam shouts back. But yewn only looks back at lyle, their eyes making contact. Yewn knows he is silently pleading to go to him. That part yewn is afraid of. To go back to lyle means to go back to those horrid conditions the general had her go under.
“No! I just cant leave him like this-”
“And why the hell not?!”
“BECAUSE HE IS MY DAD!!”
“Hey lyle-”
“You know, you can call me dad if you like…” recom lyle informs yewn in an awkward way. Yewn looks up at him, almost in a disapproving look. There was a few seconds of silence before Yewn walked on the other side of the room, not continuing what she was going to say.
Lyle walked over to see what she wanted to tell him. “Hey, im sorry, I thought that it-”
“Would be easier for me? Think again, you are just forcing yourself. I will never call you dad. You don't deserve that title. Not now, not ever fuckface” Yewn states with disgust in her tone. Lyle sighed, hanging his head low. Just when he thought where was progress, he took 5 steps back.
“He is my dad….and I just cant leave him….” Yewn cries out to neteyam. This was massive news to him. But he concludes that staying in the massive prison was messing with yewns mind. Making her think things that are not true.
If they weren't in such a situation, lyle would hug her and say sweet words in her ear. Finally yewn accepted him, but now there is a problem that lies between lyle and yewn. Just one bullet should be enough to take down that savage boy of Sully’s.
“YEWN!” he calls to her, his daughter turns to look at him, her eyes distraught, not knowing what to do.
“Please yewn, we are so close! Come on, he is not your dad! He is dead! I won't let you be surrendering to him or any evil sky demon!” Neteyam shouts loud enough for Lyle to hear. And it is ticking him off.
Neteyam guide yewn close to the edge, their hearts racing. To calm her as he leads her to the edge, he places his hand on her shoulder, urging her more to jump. Neteyam can finally save her!
Yewn was looking down at the sea, her ears ringing. Could she go? Could she leave lyle and-
BANG!
Aaaaaaaaaaand that is it for this one! Hope you all enjoyed this one! Until next time! See ya!

A Common Mischaracterization of Miles Quaritch & Why it's Wrong
The idea that he hates/dislikes his Na'vi body and what it means; identity crisis.
- This is not necessarily wrong in every facet, but it still holds a great deal of mischaracterization due to the idea's inability to nuance where the identity crisis actually is. Most opinions I've seen regarding Quaritch's stance on his new specie-transition have been that he dislikes/hates the fact that he's "Na'vi" now. This is an incorrect conclusion, albeit understandable why a person might think that way. I only say this with confidence because there is canon content within the "Avatar: A Visual Guide" book that explicitly states Quaritch's positive stance on his recombinant state. The text itself reads, "Unlike humans and machines, Recoms are not detected by Eywa as a threat due to their Na'vi DNA. This means that Recoms can walk freely through Pandora without triggering Eywa's immune response of dispatching animals to defend the moon. Going undetected by Eywa gives Quaritch the tactical advantage he's always wanted in the forest: using Na'vi-like stealth, he is able to establish his own hunting ground." I personally believe where the lines blur for people is how they remember human Quaritch. It's an astoundingly fair assumption that Quaritch as a person hates the Na'vi, and you'd be correct in that regard, considering his derogatory language toward them (Natives, Blue monkeys, etc.) But, that's where it's important to differentiate between the physicality of the Na'vi versus their culture. Quaritch is a naturally advantageous person, which is perfectly exemplified in the text above where it says, "Going undetected by Eywa gives Quaritch The tactical advantage he's always wanted in the forest: using Na'vi-like stealth, he is able to establish his own hunting ground." This shows that while he doesn't like what the Na'vi do, and their culture, he is completely and utterly willing to even the odds by physically adapting to Pandora. Even if some of the advantages were unknown at the time when proj. Pheonix (Recom program) came to be (Eywa being unable to determine the recombinants from natives, etc.), there were still a great deal of advantages on the table, all to do with having the hyper-adapted Na'vi physiology. Since we know Quaritch is highly persevering individual, it's genuinely no shock that he wouldn't have a problem with being blue and 9 ft. tall if it gave him the edge he needed to complete his mission. Part of this can be contributed to the fact that he is evidently not a vain person. Hell, one of the first scenes we see of him is him telling Jake that he could have rotated back to Earth and had his facial scars fixed nicely, but he chose not to. His reasoning has a little less to do with the point here, but for the sake of the record, he chalks it up to wanting to remind himself what lies in Pandora's "dangerous' forests every day. I may be regurgitating a little bit here, but it really does prove that above all else, his looks are definitely NOT the highest thing on his list of concerns. Each and every time, it's been his duty above all else.
- Miles Quaritch CONSENTED to the recombinant program. I feel like that part goes over people's heads a bit, because it wasn't explicitly stated. But, to clarify on behalf of the seeable cinema and dialogue, Quaritch absolutely had the choice to not go through with the program. His exact words, "In two hours, I fly a mission against the Na'vi's stronghold. The powers that be, thought it prudent that I do this backup just in case," appear to indicate that there was no force behind the matter. "The powers that be" is most definitely in reference to corporate, and "thought it prudent" gives the idea that they proposed the idea rather than enforced it. We all know Quaritch isn't a complacent person by any means, so it's hard to imagine they really forced him to do anything without an iota of retaliation from his behalf.
- That being said, it brings another interesting point. Parker Selfridge says, "So see this? This is all your memories and your personality. We're gonna send this back to Earth...where you're growing in a lab as we speak." Growing in a lab. As we speak. At the very precise moment of the explanation, Quaritch had essentially an Avatar already growing. Whether he died or not. The soul crystal was the backup, not the Avatar! Not to be dramatic, but that's a huge, HUGE indicator that Quaritch doesn't give a shit about being blue. Otherwise, what other option is there? Quaritch was also already confident that he wasn't going to die based on the fact that he says, "What you won't remember is my death because it hasn't happened yet, and it ain't gonna," so the only other reasonable assumption was that that man was gonna be blue (consensually) whether he died at the Battle of the Tree of Souls or not. (A little unimportant tangent note, but that notion also makes me wonder if eventually Quaritch would've made a permanent mental transition to his Na'vi once his human body got to be a too old, just because he was 51 when he died, and would've been 57/58 when his avatar arrived to Pandora for use. But, anyway.)
- His identity crisis provably lies within the Soul Drive, not his new body. But first, I implore you to think about how finely crafted this movie is made before I really get into anything. Scenes (especially ones containing Spider AKA basically any Quaritch scene) are meticulously crafted through a rigorous cycle of refilming, capturing, post-editing, and digital effects. James, as the director, personally shot the scenes himself as well. Anything put into the narrative of Avatar: The Way of Water was intentional. There is not even a possibility for even a "stormtrooper hitting his head" moment. With all of this being said, I want to say that we see absolutely ZERO scenes with Quaritch expressing an iota of contempt for himself for be genetically Na'vi. The only thing that comes slightly close is when he touches his tooth after waking up, and says "Well, ain't this a bitch," but the most logical explanation for his reaction isn't that he hates that he came back as Na'vi (again he literally SAID YES TO THE IDEA), but rather the realization that he died (and lost the battle.) Basically a "...godamnit" moment. Digressing to the main point, any scene with a supposed body identity crisis moment is more about him being a hater more than anything, like when he crushes his old skull. He's maaaaaad Jake Sully/Neytiri fuckin' got his ass after all that went down, and he probably feels like a failure. The contempt on his face for his failed actions is palpable in that scene. That being said, I would like to add another example of it, but there just isn't any. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in some way, but there isn't a single other scene of his where he explicitly acknowledges his physical differences. It just doesn't seem... Important. It's certainly not as important to him than killing Jake. His body is a means to an end at this point.
- He expresses more conflict about who he was and who he currently considers himself to be. When he speaks to Spider about himself, he refers to his former life in the third person, and acts as an entity seperate of Spider's "father." Saying things like "I'm not that man," and "But, I have enough of his memories to know that he wasn't always the best father." Now, I COULD potentially be tweakin', because Quaritch never says stuff like that again, and certainly doesn't act like he actually feels that way (Saying Jake personally betrayed him, not former Quaritch, etc.) He could have been manipulating Spider into taking his side by 1) disconnecting himself from the man his kid so clearly despises and 2) Portending as though he's different. Regardless, it still adds a layer of ambiguity about his true feelings that will definitely be roved over and explored in the upcoming films.
~
To conclude my yapping session, I want to express that I'm not attacking Headcanons. If this is something you want to personally believe because it's canon in your head, I'm not going to complain. I just wanted to yap because I've seen some people suggest before in the past that he probably hates his na'vi body, and I simply disagree. Thank yew for reading.

🕸️🕷️ Weaving the Web 🕷️🕸️
Chapter 15: Truth Be Told
“Nice try, kid.” Quaritch said with a huff of fatigue and a bit of frustration as he took a seat next to where the kid was crouched and watched Wainfleet take his chances with the ikran.
Spider ground his teeth slightly and glanced down then away. Any direction to not meet the colonel’s gaze. When he ‘forgot to mention’ some parts of the iknimaya process and bonding with an ikran, the kid didn’t expect Quaritch’s challenger to fling both of them right off a ledge. Spider didn’t just feel bad because, without the colonel’s protection, he would likely end up back in a prison cell. That would be the best-case scenario. A straight jacket and padded room in the worst.
“Must’ve been one of my other sides that forgot...” Spider said to lighten the mood. He didn’t know what the recom considered discipline for almost getting him killed but the teen REALLY didn’t want to find out either.
“Yea right.” Quaritch said with a scoff and sarcastic smirk. He was legitimately angry with Spider for not mentioning that the Na’vi would handicap the flying beasts first before attempting to make the bond.
“For what it’s worth...” Spider said, finally having the guts to look at Quaritch’s disappointed gaze, “...you did something Jake didn’t.”
Ok, so it was a poor attempt at making up for Quaritch possibly falling to his death but the slight perk in the recom’s ears told Spider he’d fed his ego a little bit. Not that he wanted the recom to think he was anywhere near the level of greatness Toruk Makto was, but he had to think of saving his own skin while he was still property of the RDA.
“You didn’t use a yìmkxa.” Spider said matter-of-factly then continued when the word meant nothing, “A banshee catcher to...you know...tie the mouth shut. There really aren’t many who don’t use them...if they don’t, it’s just to show off.”
Quaritch noticed how the teen’s voice got quieter and more awkward as it was clear Spider was trying to butter him up. The colonel had made it quite clear the consequences of causing any trouble the first time they left Bridgehead. But a lot happened since then. He was only dealing with one snarky teenager then...not said teen, a young child, and a psychopath.
The colonel’s frustration tempered as he rested and looked back to the cheering of Wainfleet dominating the stone arena. He chuckled a bit and said, “Ya don’t say. There’re things even the great Toruk Makto can't do, eh?”
Spider shrugged and let out an internal sigh of relief. He avoided an ass whippin’, right? Or maybe that threat was null and void now that he was so fucked up in the head? Some of the recoms acted like they were walking on eggshells around him; some acted like nothing had changed. He wasn’t sure what he would do outside of the situation. He barely knew how to handle it as it was happening to him...
“I am...sorry.” Spider said, glancing at Quaritch then back forward when the colonel gave him a side glance.
Quaritch stared at the boy in his side eye glance before leaning forward and saw the boy’s jaw was set tight and his brows were furrowed up. If he had pointy ears too, the recom was sure they’d be pinned back and showing genuine regret. When he smirked again, it wasn’t forced or sarcastic and he reached out to ruffle the boy’s hair. He pretended not to notice Spider flinch then try to hide it. No need to embarrass the poor kid any more than he had been...
“Point for you, tiger, I’d be a fool to not expect you to try and knock us all off at least once...” Quaritch said.
Spider smiled slightly and tried to hide that as well, trying not to lean into the giant hand ruffling his locs. Part of him tried to pretend it was Jake doing it. Like in some fantasy, he had been saved and everyone was happy he was back. And Jake was promising that he would never let anything happen to him again. Treat him like his own son for once...
And yet...it felt like Spider had that with...his dead father’s recom? Maybe that was just his brain damage making him feel that way...
But after everything Quaritch had done the last few weeks? Taking ‘legal custody’ of Spider so he wouldn’t be prisoner, being present at every major medical test, letting him stay in an apartment reserved for military leaders instead of some grunt barracks? Well...Spider also had to remind himself that Quaritch was the reason he was kidnapped and ended up in that stupid death machine in the first place. Still...if Spider was ‘nothin’ to him’ then why was Quaritch doing so much?
“I reckon not everyone walks away from this, do they?” Quaritch asked, interrupting Spider’s thoughts as another of the squad started scrapping with an ikran.
“Nope.” Spider said, watching Lopez get flipped right off the ikran’s back as soon as he managed to mount it.
“And kids do this?” the colonel followed up with.
“Like I said, younger than me. Just part of being seen as an adult in the clan. Becoming one of the People. Some of them never make it...” Spider said, his mood dropping with his tone. Despite all he had accomplished, as far as young hunters his age go, he would never follow in his friends’ footsteps. Though Quaritch took it in more the literal sense, which was also true...
“So, parents send their kids up here to die?” Quaritch said, his ears pinning back. Something twisted in his gut that made him feel uncomfortable about a teen younger than the boy next to him taking on such a dangerous challenge. Then the twisting tightened when he thought about the danger he’d put Spider and the Sully kids upon finding them in the woods.
No, that was unexpected and could have proved useful to finally getting Sully in the RDA’s crosshairs.
COULD HAVE.
“Not to die.” Spider corrected quickly, “To prove themselves.”
“Ya ever seen a kid fail this test?” Quaritch asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes, but he didn’t die. He came back when he was ready and did it again.” Spider said, shifting his feet closer together in his crouched position and crossing his arms on his knees. The position was guarded and Quaritch could tell the boy didn’t want to talk.
“One of Sully’s kids...?” the recom asked quietly.
“Yea...” Spider said plainly and buried his chin in his arms as he watched the squad continue to pair up with the ikrans. Something he would never be able to do. Spider would grow up, sure. Something about being considered an adult at 18? What the hell did a number have to do with proving oneself an adult? And what did that matter to his people? To the Omatikaya? Age had nothing to do with being one of the people...it was what they did in those years. And there was a lot that Spider could not do...
The teen didn’t want to admit he was impressed with the recoms when they were all off the mountains and sitting around a campfire with their new partners snug on the cliffs around them for the night. Spider stayed quiet and just smiled to himself as he listened to the squad give each other a hard time over what they could have done better against the ikrans.
“That’s bull and you know it!” Lopez shot back as he was on the receiving end of most of the hazing.
“Seriously, brother, if you hadn’t tried to jump it so quick, you wouldn’t have landed on your ass.” Wainfleet jeered with a laugh.
Spider watched the way the recoms spoke to each other. They goaded each other in a way no different than himself and Lo’ak. It sounded tough but was all in good fun. The comradery. The warrior’s brotherhood. They were practically a family. More of a family than he ever had. He tried to push that thought away. He did have people in his life like this...he really did. They’d just...left him behind. Well, Jake probably made that call so was he really surprised by it? He wasn’t Jake’s kid...and he wasn’t worth the risk...
“Spider?” Quaritch said for the third time, concerned the boy was disassociating and one of the alters had stepped in without any of them noticing. He placed a gentle hand on Spider’s shoulder and looked into his eyes while asking, “You good, boy?”
“Yea, why?” Spider asked. Traces of panic infiltrated his mind. Did he lose time? Did someone else take over?
“Yea.” Quaritch said quickly to put concern out of the boy’s mind, “I asked you three times if you were still hungry, but you didn’t answer.”
“Oh...sorry...” Spider said, sighing quietly in relief as he looked back at the fire.
“Nothin’ to be sorry for, kid.”
“I think I’m just tired...”
“You should be after tryin’ to leave us behind in the mountains.” Quaritch said as he patted the boy’s head and nodded off to where their sleep mats were laid out away from the fire, “Off to bed now, son. Get.”
Spider stared at Quaritch, long enough that the colonel looked confused. ‘Son’ was not a word Spider was used to hearing unless it was in the context of ‘son of the demon’. He wasn’t really that tired. His brain was too busy processing his shifting perception of Quaritch and the recoms. How could being stuck with people who were supposed to be ‘the enemy’ feel like such a safe place to be...?
Eventually, he nodded and wandered over to lay down away from where the fire polluted his night vision. Laying on his back, Spider stared up at the starry sky and shifting colors from the aurora.
“Everything ok, boss?” Wainfleet asked, interrupting the colonel’s thoughts and staring at the boy.
“Yea, Lyle...” Quaritch said, running his hand over his chin, “Just tryin’ to figure out what’s on the kid’s mind. Can’t read him today.”
“You could just ask him.” Wainfleet suggested.
“I asked him if he was good. Said he was.”
“He might think he’s good. Or it might be easier to just say he’s good. Don’t you remember being a teenager? Last thing you wanted when a parent asked what was wrong was to actually tell them the truth.”
“Parent?”
Quaritch and Wainfleet looked at each other in silence.
“Well, you know...ANY adult asking a teenager what’s wrong...they’re gonna avoid talking about it.” Wainfleet said. He didn’t realize what he’d said until his friend called him on it. Regardless of the shock of the term used, the corporal clapped his hand on the colonel's shoulder as he stood. “I’ll take your watch, boss. Take the night off.”
Quaritch watched Wainfleet take up arms and start the new two hour perimeter watch. He cleared his throat and looked back to Spider. He could see he wasn’t asleep. In fact, the kid was pointing up at the stars and slowly moving his hand around. He cleared his throat again to distract himself from procrastinating then went over to the boy.
“Not as tired as you thought, eh?” Quaritch said as his shadow blocked the firelight.
“Too bright with the fire...” Spider lied.
“Ah, right...hate that...” the colonel sat down, continuing to block the firelight. “Better?”
“Yea...thanks...” Spider said, resting his hand on his stomach.
“What’s got your head in the clouds, tiger?” Quaritch asked, leaning his head back to look up at the stars as well.
“Just looking at the pictures in the stars.” Spider said with a shrug.
“The Na’vi got constellations too?”
“Yea...”
“Like what?”
Spider rolled his head to look at Quaritch as he continued to see what he could figure out on his own. He couldn’t tell if the recom really cared about the stars, but he did care enough to come over and check on Spider. So, he might as well humor the conversation...
“There’s Tuvom Taronyu and Taronyutsyìp right there...” Spider pointed to two clusters next to each other. “The Greatest Hunter and the Little Hunter.”
Quaritch looked at where Spider was pointing but it just looked like shiny dots in the sky to him. His ears twitched back, and he shuffled down the mat so he could lay back to see it from the same perspective as Spider. It didn’t help much and he asked, “Not seein’ a damn thing, Spider, what am I lookin’ at here?”
“There.” Spider pointed up and the colonel tilted his head to get a better look, leaning his cheek against the top of Spider’s head. “You see the spear in the Greatest Hunter’s hands? And the bow in the Little Hunter’s?”
“Ehh...” was all Quaritch could say as he tried to see what the boy was seeing. He held up his arm between them. Spider leaned his head further into the gap between the recom’s head and shoulder to look up the direction of his arm.
“More like...there.” Spider said as he reached over to grab ahold of Quaritch’s arm and moved it into a better position. As he re-explained, he continued to move the recom’s hand accordingly like he was tracing the stars like a connect the dots page out of a child’s coloring book. “There’s the big hunter. And the spear...is over their head. See?”
“Ah, yea.” Quaritch said, genuinely seeing the full picture now. The teen continued to tell him about the constellation and then some. He pointed out animals and plants and Na’vi folklore. The fire had been put out and the squad went to sleep. The sounds of the forest echoed, but all Quaritch could hear at that moment was the boy next to him as spoke with such fervor and passion that they could forget about what brought them to this point in time. And what unpredictable future lay ahead for the boy.
“There.” Spider said suddenly, pointing to a constellation that had peeked out from behind the floating mountains as the stars moved across the sky over the time they’d been talking. “That one’s mine.”
“Yours? Don’t tell me they do that horoscope bullshit here on Pandora too.” Quaritch grumbled as he tried to figure out what Spider was pointing at. Then a thought crossed his mind...what was Spider’s zodiac sign? He may not have cared for it, but Paz did.
“I don’t know what that is.” Spider said before quickly moving on and drawing over the stars with his pointed finger so Quaritch could get an idea of what the image was, “A lot of times, Na’vi kids will claim a star or a constellation as kind of a guardian. Something to watch over them when they can’t watch over themselves. You know, like when you’re asleep? That one’s mine.”
“Kinda looks like a...” Quaritch tilted his head to the side and squinted. He really didn’t want to insult the kid by his interpretation. Considering how many countless stars were in the sky, this specific constellation seemed sparse. It had the least amount of stars after the boy traced over it again. He cleared his throat quietly when he felt the kid’s head bump against his shoulder to prompt him to continue speaking and said, “Like a little arrowhead...surrounded by little spindly legs. But it looks all by its lonesome.”
Spider snorted at the description and tilted his head against Quaritch’s arm again, “I mean you’re not wrong...”
“What’s your little guardian called?” Quaritch asked, smiling that he figured it out without embarrassing himself too badly.
“Le’awtu Swirä.” Spider answered quietly.
“And that means, smart guy?”
“Lonely Creature.”
Silence fell between the two. Quaritch found himself missing the boy’s endless astronomy lecture immediately. To the colonel’s relief, Spider spoke up to further explain.
“It’s not what you think...” Spider said vaguely. He took in a breath then let it out before continuing, “The Lonely Creature is one of the Na’vi’s greatest stories. It’s about an unknown creature that lives everywhere on Pandora. In the forest, the mountains, the seas, the deserts...everywhere. No one knows what it looks like, but they know it’s there.”
“A whole pack of unknown critters?” Quaritch asked.
“No, just one. But it can be anywhere it wants to be. Not knowing what the Lonely Creature is makes it accepted wherever it goes. The Na’vi respect the Lonely Creature because they don’t know what it is. They don't hate what they don’t understand. They need a reason to hate something...so they don’t hate what they don’t know.” Spider said, his eyes staring unblinking at his guardian in the stars.
Silence fell between the two as stones sunk into Quaritch’s stomach. There were a lot of reasons for the humans and the Na’vi to hate each other. That was for damn sure. But he didn’t care about that. Spider was so expendable that there were no rescue attempts. If that didn’t say ‘hate’ in some form of the word, Quaritch didn’t know what did. But this poor kid didn’t deserve that...
“Means more now than ever...most kids stop believing in them way younger than me...” Spider admitted sheepishly.
“Yea? Why’s that?” Quaritch asked, quietly.
“They don’t need stars to watch over them because they can connect to who’s here...they’re protected by who’s here...” Spider answered. A third silence. The colonel didn’t know if the kid was talking about parents or the clan or their great goddess Eywa. It seemed this Lonely Creature chose to stay lonely just to feel wanted, respected, and a part of something. Even if it that acceptance was based on how far it could stay away...
“Am I ever going to be ok...?” Spider asked with a quiet voice, barely able to escape his tight throat. He didn’t feel as lonely as he used to. It was hard to when all he could think about was the extra personalities that he could not control. But they were there in his mind.
“You’re already ok.” Quaritch said, struggling almost as badly as Spider was to speak. The boy didn’t answer but he heard him shifting until he was lying with his back to the recom. Quaritch contemplated his next decision, both for his sake and the boy’s, before sweeping his arm out and around the boy to pull him close.
Spider may have been a little panicked mentally but allowed Quaritch to scoop him up in his arm to be pulled back against the recom’s side. The recom's arm was so long it could lay around his head and bend up at the elbow, so a large hand rested on the boy’s upper arm. Quaritch gave it a light squeeze and Spider found himself curling his head comfortably into the arm of the closest person he ever had to a father...
Got to give a shout out to @naavispider for inspiration for their stargazing scene from chapter 12 of If You Ain't Playing Me. ✨
