on today's episode of "i only pay attention and pretend that i give two shits about the sanctity of human rights when there's a freaking Cheeto in the white house"
āWhile the administration should be lauded for its efforts to provide children and families access to the court system, its failure to ensure legal representation has produced a massive due process crisis,ā said Talia Inlender, Deputy Director of the Center for Immigration Law and Policy (CILP) at the UCLA School of Law. āIt should be obvious that immigration court proceedings are far too complex for children to navigate without legal representation, especially when the consequences are so dire. The Biden administration must take swift action to ensure legal representation for all children in immigration court.ā
The reportās key findings include:
In a five-month period in FY 2022 alone, almost one third of immigration court cases initiated by the Biden administrationāmore than 80,000 in allāwere against children, over 30,000 of whom were under the age of 5, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC).
Studies show that unrepresented unaccompanied children are at least five times more likely to be ordered removed than children with access to counsel.Ā
By the governmentās own account, 44% of unaccompanied children and 51% of families on the Dedicated Docket lack legal representation.
The vast majority of removal orders entered against children are for failure to appear: Approximately 72% of removal orders against families on the Los Angeles and Boston Dedicated Dockets were issued in absentia, with over 48% against children, many under the age of six. Worse yet, 86% of removal orders issued against unaccompanied children were for failure to appear.
Immigration courts under the Biden administration ordered more than 13,000 unaccompanied children removed in absentia between Fiscal Years 2022 and 2023.
The report details how the Biden administrationās treatment of children in immigration court is unlawful, and calls on the Biden administration to: prohibit in absentia removal orders against unrepresented children; terminate the Dedicated Docket; and ensure legal representation for all unrepresented children in removal proceedings.
In handwritten cursive, a Russian immigrant named Marina wrote out the story of the day U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents took away her 1-year-old baby while she was being held in a detention facility in southern California. āI cried and begged, kneeling, not to do this, that this was a mistake, not justice and not right,ā she wrote. āShe was so little that no one knew anything about her. I was very afraid for her and still am!ā This didnāt happen during the Trump administration, which separated more than 4,000 migrant children from their families under its controversial āzero toleranceā policy. Marina was separated from her baby in April of this year. The 40-year-old former restaurant manager came to the U.S.-Mexico border with her husband, mother-in-law and child to seek asylum. More than eight months later, she and her mother-in-law remain in federal immigration custody in Louisiana. Her husband is detained at a different Louisiana immigration facility. And Aleksandra is over a thousand miles away, being cared for by strangers in foster care in California. Aleksandra is one of around 300 children the Biden administration has separated from their parents or legal guardians this year, according to two government sources who asked not to be identified because they hadnāt been authorized to speak about the separations. Most of the cases involved families crossing the southwestern border, the sources said. These numbers havenāt previously been reported. Similarly, 298 children were separated from their parents in 2023, according to a government report to Congress published on Tuesday, even as overall migrant crossings have declined. According to the report, the average amount of time children separated between April 2018 and October 2024 have spent in federal custody before being released to a sponsor is 75 days.
Biden responds to Bernie Sanders' immigration plan: "We shouldn't abolish ICE. We should reform the system. ICE is not the problem. The policies behind ICE are the problem, and that's easy enough to fix if the President knows what he or she is doing."
unfortunately Joe never got around to fixing the Gestapo agency but he tried his gosh darndest and he isn't Drumpf so i guess the pride in being an American was still secure at that point for most liberals. i'm sure that when the next charlatan says the same thing that they'll retain this energy, right? right??

An AU in which Jason, upon returning to Gotham, gets really swept up into the whole crime lord thing, and never gets the time to go through with his revenge plan.
It starts small. He comes back and gets to work, and after a while, he has managed to carve out some of the crime from crime alley. This gets him noticed among some of the people there. One night, a group of thugs approach him, but instead of wanting to fight him, they want to work for him.
Jason, still fresh, with not much revenue coming for him yet, tells them that he isn't hiring because he cannot exactly pay them much. The thugs say that it doesn't matter, because they like what he is doing, and would like to be in on it anyway, and, well. If Jason has help managing other things, he can dedicate more time on his bigger plan, right?
Wrong. Things start to move much quicker now, and that means that more people come in and want to work for him. At this point Jason has money coming in, and he starts paying them, too, which makes more people come in, which in turn makes more money to come in as well. Jason can pay them more, and suddenly he notices a difference in many of the goons he has on his roster now. They seem happier. They joke more, many of them have better clothes on them, and they don't look so gaunt anymore, either.
Jason asks about it, once, and the goon tells him that they have had the money to buy actual groceries and new pair of boots, which makes living a lot more comfortable. They even got to buy their kid a new winter jacket! Now, if they save up a little bit, they will be able to get their kid new school books as well!
And Jason, Crime Alley boy Jason, who loved school and reading, feels his heart strings being violently yanked. Don't worry about the books, he says. I will take care of it.
At the end of the month, he has managed to organise a book delivery system for all the Crime Alley kids, where they get school books and picture books and science books about dinosaurs and angient Egypt and all that. He tells his goons that for every kid that stays in school for the semester, he will give them a bonus.
It works wonders. The amount of kids dropping out from school gets cut by 60 percent just during the first semester. The book system grows, and suddenly Jason finds himself pushing some money to get the old local library running again, to make things a bit easier. He even hires some people to run the system for him. Suddenly, he is like actually employing people. He needs an accountant. He hires one for himself, and then another one to run other funds.
Things just keep escalating after that. Local parent group starts to have meetings in the new library, and they put up a babysitting club and start a clothes exhange program as well, where you can bring all the clothes that are too small for you, and people get to take what they need home. A soup kitchen starts as well, first because the kids need snacks, and then it grows so much that Jason needs to find a place for it to run effectively and safely. Many local restaurants get into it as well, and their business starts to rise as well, because people who are fed and have warm clothes have more time and energy to seek for jobs. Many of them are still employed within just Crime Alley, though, because jobs elsewhere require an adress, and some people don't have those.
Jason thinks about himself, after his parents died, on the streets, trying to survive, and thinks never again. He tells his accountant to start budgeting for housing.
He needs to hire more people for it. He needs to run his crime empire, after all, he doesn't have the time for this.
He has so many people working for him now. There are a few thugs that were previously employed by other Gotham Rogues coming in as well, because they have heard good things about the Red Hood. The other Rogues are in and out of the prison or Arkham all the time and the pay isn't reliable and there is a high chance that you will get beaten up by one of the bats as well, and they don't really get offered medical services by their bosses, you know?
There's another thing. Jason now has to organize people to get first aid-training. And also get some sort of vaccination program going. And also get everybody dental.
It's all getting too much for him, really. He doesn't even have a high school diploma.
He mentions this to one of his goons one night, because they said that he looked stressed. Don't worry boss! The goon tells him. We will take care of things, if you want to go back to school! It would be a good example, too, for the older kids, who are still dropping out more than the little kids, you know?
So Jason goes back to school. God he loves school. He barely even thinks about his revenge plan anymore, because he is busy running his programs and studying and making plans with his goons.
He gets his diploma and then starts a community college so people can get degrees.
He then runs into an entirely new problem. The people look up to him, especially the kids. And now the kids also want to help him.
Jason, the second Robin, the bird with clipped wings, tells them no. Absolutely not. You are kids, go back to school, your bedtime is at nine.
He cannot control the older teens, though. They just tell him to fuck off and accept the help. Now train us, so we can start running the more specialized missions too. You can't be the only person jumping on rooftops. If you don't train us, we will do it anyway, dipshit. We ain't scared of you.
And suddenly Jason has his own vigilante team with him. His workers are unionizing. Some of them are actually running for the city council to get things addressed that need to be done the legal way. Crime rates have dropped by 70 percent around Crime Alley.
They can't really call it Crime Alley anymore, can they? It's Park Row again.
The bats are extremely confused by the new team. The Hoods, they call themselves. All of them with a red bat painted on their chests and fighting in an eerily similar manner to them.
Jason is not there on Thursdays. He is busy getting his English degree.
#bruce doesn't know what to do because this guy's a criminal but also it would be an extremely bad look to go and fight him about it#his brain is smoking tho from how hard he is thinking#dc#batman#jason todd#red hood

idk i like to think sunday is a firm believer of no sex before (cough forced) marriage. but when the vows are exchanged, the first kiss is celebrated, and the doors are closed⦠heās more than ready to take you to poundtown.
he takes you in all the right angles and even in the most humiliating positions, and makes sure every hole of yours is satisfied and fulfilled.
he has an elegant smile that charms even nuns, but behind that seeming innocence and grace is a lustful sinner with a relentless libido heās been patiently keeping away until now. he adores and coos at your dumb-looking face as you were being fucked dumb by him. what, āno moreā? ah, he thinks you meant āplease moreā when your eyes involuntarily rolled back with your tongue lolled out. you look so happy and cute, a stark contrast to your ever so vicious, and wild nature when interacting with him.
he likes you this, so fulfilled without that savagery of yours to ruin it. he feels like he successfully domesticated a wild animal, and the only finishing touch is having your belly round with child⦠or children ;)
and if you ever complain or say those disgusting, sinful words against him, itās okay. heāll wash that filthy mouth of yours, over and over again until itās only praise about him thatās dripping from your tongue.
tldr; sundayās always been a freak but has hidden it all his life until he married you.

>_<šŖanon thank you for such a great story!! I love how Sunday changed after marriage. He hides his true nature and controls himselfā¦
cw: yandere, dub-con, overstimulation, penetration, nipple stimulation, gag, spanking, reader has female reproductive system
Sunday believes in chastity before marriage and protecting chastity before eternal commitment. He does not indulge you in your desires. The body is a sacred temple and cannot be defiled.
And this not only means no sex before the wedding, it means you can't masturbate, read erotic novels, comics, watch pornographic movies, none of these are allowed. Before the engagement, Sunday showed appropriate care and closeness. After the engagement, you had just platonic dates, walking together, dining in restaurants, watching movies and playing games. Sunday likes to read some books with you and share opinions. He doesn't mind if you read books other than philosophy, even popular ones, but⦠there's only one category he doesn't like⦠He checks your browser and reading apps.
Switching accounts to browse pornographic novels/browsing pornographic websites will not work. You had done this sneakily, and after you were discovered, your hands were on the table, your underwear was on your calves, and the whip in your fiancƩ's hand was in close contact with your butt. Clearly, you violated his trust and indulged in lewdness.
Depending on your personality, you might scream and curse at him. Or you whimpered and repented. You emphasize that you will really correct yourself and beg for forgiveness. Both options without exception ended in a spanking. (He also tells you to bend over his lap and get spankedā¦it's important to bend over in humiliation first. Your butt is so sore it feels like it's burning.) After the punishment is over, Sunday rubs ointment and lotion into your butt. He puts you on his knees, wipes your tears and kisses your forehead.
It's for your own good, he insists. He derived no pleasure from it. You wisely chose not to point out his rising smile.
Wedding!! Sunday was months in preparation for the wedding. He and you exchanged vows and kissed each other. Robin even shed a few tears. She was deeply touched. She was glad that her brother had his happiness. When you get married, you think it's going to be a conservative life, like once a week, missionary position, that sort of thing.
But, no⦠it was completely unexpected, like you said, Sunday penetrated you at every right angle and humiliating position. He had never done it before but was a quick learner. He explores your sensitive areas and sweet spots, focusing on attacking and teasing those spots. The gloved fingers circled your areola, occasionally pinching and scraping gently. He pinched your raised nipples as if you were about to produce milk. His balls ravaged and slammed against your vulva, his elegant glans hitting your sensitive spots accurately, and his thick cylinders stretching your tight, layered flesh. Fill you with seeds not just once but several times a day. Long periods of abstinence can make you very sensitive to touch. Just caressing your breasts can bring new excitement and tremors to your body, not to mention creampie. You⦠squirted. When you get your first squirt, Sunday watches you curiously and the amazing amount of squirt. You look completely engaged and surrendered, muttering shakily, rolling your eyes, and spreading your legs.
"No - no moreā¦"
Uh-huh, yes, and if you keep that mean attitude when you're in a relationship with him. The satisfaction this gives Sunday is indescribable. Watching the look in your eyes go from aggressive to melting into orgasm, screaming and begging for no more rounds. You didn't know that a man who had been abstinent before turned out to be like this⦠His load that had been accumulated for a long time was released inside you, flowing through and filling you up. His cock stayed inside you for a moment, until it was hard again and the thrust returned, slamming into your ass.
And wash your mouth haha, that's a little too hardcore(?) for me and that's just for being a mean and condescending reader. Sunday might not like a rough approach, so⦠maybe a gag? As long as you keep being mean and saying horrible shit, eventually your mouth will get gagged. All you could say was "mmm!!" and "eh", "whā¦" and other unwritten sounds, and you glared at him. Regardless, eventually you'll learn how to compliment him properly and without any swear words. (If Sunday realizes your taunt, he will put the gag in your mouth again without hesitation.)
All in all, you discovered another side of Sunday after marriage. Maybe he is not an ascetic man. He knows how to control. He knows he wants you.

"Israel also secretly hires Jewish Americans as spies to work out of its Washington embassy and its consulates around the United States to covertly surveil and monitor fellow Americans, including students. Thoroughly vetted to ensure loyalty to Israel, many of those hired have spent years heavily involved in pro-Israeli activities from the time they were in college and before. Among them was Julia Reifkind, who led a pro-Israel group at the University of California at Davis before moving on to become an activist with AIPAC. After she graduated in 2016, she was hired by Israel and assigned to its embassy in Washington.
Reifkind had good preparation for her assignment. Thinking that Kleinfeld was a fellow pro-Israel activist, over dinner at Washingtonās Mari Vanna restaurant she revealed that while at AIPAC she spent much of her time deceiving college students about her covert connection to the organization. āObviously, Iām an AIPAC-trained campus activist,ā she said. āWhen youāre lobbying on behalf of AIPAC, you donāt say AIPAC, you say, āIām a pro-Israel student from UC Davis.ā And when youāre meeting with students on campus I would never say, āI am the AIPAC campus rep.ā Iād say, āMy name is Julia and Iām a pro-Israel student.āā
At the embassy, Reifkind focused on developing intelligence on fellow Americans, including students on college campuses. āSo nobody really knows what weāre doing,ā she said. āBut mainly itās been a lot of research like monitoring BDS.ā
In a different conversation, Reifkind explained: āItās mainly gathering intel, reporting back to Israel. Thatās a lot of what I do. To report back to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, and make sure they have the right information.ā Among the ways she spies on pro-Palestinian activists and Palestinian human rights supporters is with phony Facebook accounts. āI have my fake Facebook that I follow all the SJP [Students for Justice in Palestine] accounts. I have some fake names. My name is Jay Bernard or something.ā
Once Reifkind collected the intelligence on her targets, she passed it on to her boss at the embassy. Then it was sent to the Ministry of Strategic Affairs and other offices over a secure encrypted system called Cables. Itās āreally secure,ā she said. āI donāt have access to [it] because Iām an American.⦠Iāve seen it, it looks really bizarreā¦. And then theyāll send something back and heāll translate it and tell me what I need to do.ā
Since the brutal Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians on October 7 and the Israeli invasion of Gaza, the ICC and its US-based spy networks are no doubt working overtime. But there is little likelihood of interference by the FBIāwell trained to look the other way when it comes to Israel. It was a situation that even frustrated a former head of the FBIās counterintelligence division. When I asked him why no one would talk to me about Israelās massive espionage in the United States, he simply shook his head.
āYou donāt think Israelās a sensitive topic?ā he asked, requesting that his name not be used. āSo, Israel has been looked at and is being looked at and thatās all I can tell you,ā he said. āBut nobodyās doing anything.ā
āWhy not?ā I asked.
āYou can imagine,ā is all he would say, implying high-level political involvement. I then said that I was planning to write about the topic. āI hope you do. I hope you do,ā he said. Sighing, he added, āIāve been there done that. I know it. Iāve brought cases to the Department of Justice on Israel.ā Cases that were never opened."

Talents in Navamsha
The D-9 Divisional Chart, or Navamsha Chart, is the second most important chart after the Rasi or D-1 chart. It reveals our potential and certain patterns that characterise our inner world, which typically evolve over a lifetime. With the help of the Navamsha chart, we can also identify our innate talents - these are reflected in the Trikona houses (1, 5, 9) and the planets located there. Any planet placed in one of these houses indicates capabilities and talents carried over from past lives, as well as the areas of life that are naturally preferred for one's activities.
Besides planets located in Trikona houses, it is important to analyse their placement in the Rasi (D-1) Chart, too. And of course, we need to pay attention to the signs of the Trikona houses as well as their rulers.
HOUSES IN NAVAMSHA CHART DESCRIBE...
The first house - The planets in the 1st house of the Navamsha chart reveal the skills, talents, and preferences that are inherent to a person from early childhood, essentially from birth. These often manifest as unconscious abilities, yet people still identify with them on a deep level. Interestingly, individuals may not even recognise these traits as special, assuming them to be average or ordinary simply because they come so naturally.
The fifth house - The planets in the 5th house of the Namasha chart will tell about those talents, which require some personal efforts.
The ninth house -The 9th house planets in Navamsha chart reveal the true direction, skills, and talents that help a person live in harmony with the world and fulfill their life mission.
PLANETS IN NAVAMSHA TRIKONA HOUSES (1,5,9):
Sun: bestows a gift to make an impression, inspire, manage, protect, and unite. Areas where to implement these talents: business, politics, social work, medicine and healing, protection of public order
Moon: talents in pedagogy, psychology, caregiving, the arts and writing. Areas where to implement these talents: charity, social work, childcare, artistic fields, psychology (especially in roles involving or supporting women)
Mars: natural skill in management, sports, martial arts, cooking, mechanics, electrical work, and engineering. Areas where to implement these talents: business (particularly oriented toward men, such as automotive, shipping, or barbering), restaurants, maintenance services, engineering, industrial design, and architecture.
Mercury: gives sharp intellect, eloquence, and talents in public speaking, writing, acting, teaching, and commerce. Areas where to implement these talents: business, trade, accounting, education, journalism, medicine, creative and technical writing and scientific research
Jupiter: grants innate wisdom, reason, and talent for teaching, coaching, and guiding others. Areas for applying these talents: education, writing, life coaching, psychology, medicine, law, jurisprudence, and banking.
Venus: bestows a natural talent for charm, aesthetic expression, and the ability to bring beauty into the world through art, decoration, and refinement. This placement often indicates artistic gifts in painting, music, design, and performance (dance, singing, etc.) It supports success in fields related to the beauty and entertainment industries. Areas for applying these talents: arts, sewing, beauty industry, entertainment, acting, makeup, design, and businesses aimed at or involving women.
Saturn: gives wisdom beyond one's years, natural talents in self-discipline, resilience, and endurance. It grants a strong capacity for long-term planning and working within structured systems. People with Saturn in trikona (1,5,9) houses often possess a karmic affinity for supporting the elderly or those in need of stability and care. Areas for applying these talents: social work, management, work with the elderly, construction, architecture, working with metals, building materials, antiques, or anything aged and worn that requires repair, restoration, or preservation.
Rahu:grants a broad perspective, a unique and unconventional mindset, and strong abilities in learning foreign languages and adapting to new environments. It bestows talents in psychology, entertainment, and innovative thinking. Individuals with this placement often stand out for their originality and can serve as both innovators and provocateurs, challenging norms and opening new paths. Areas for applying these talents: IT, social media, advertising, psychology, esoteric studies (including astrology), innovation-driven fields.
Ketu: grants strong intuition, deep knowledge in psychology, religion, esoteric studies (including astrology). Talents in maths, programming, IT. Afflicted Ketu can give thievishĀ tendencies. Areas for applying these talents: psychology, IT, research, esoteric studies, hairdressing (Ketu is known for cutting abilities).

Half-Truths

Summary: After swearing off Kooks, JJ falls for the Wreck's new waitress. (Based on this request)
Warnings: characters are 18+, talks of infidelity (not from reader or JJ), swearing, suggestive language and content but no smut, kissing, a little hurt but mostly fluff, use of "I love you," pet names (princess, baby, beautiful), Rafe being an asshole, reference to underage drinking. Kinda sorta edited.
WC: 2.4k
AN: @sabrina-carpenter-stan-account It's no joke! After months its finally here! I'm so sorry this took so long to post! I hope you like it!!
ć m.list || ao3 ć
JJ wasn't one for relationships.
He and John B. always joked that he had a high catch and release rate. Reel a girl in, have your fun, and take off before anything serious could happen.
And it worked. JJ could have his fun and not be forced to dive into any of that emotional shit. All the fun, none of the complicated.
However, the system wasnāt perfect.
When emotions werenāt involved but alcohol and weed were, details tended to fall through the cracks. Details like āIām actually dating a Kook who already hates your guts.ā
In all fairness, JJ didnāt know the girl he picked up at the Boneyard was Kelce's girlfriend until they were putting on their respective clothing and she mentioned the āsmallā detail in passing.
She promised that she wouldnāt tell a soul as to not tarnish her own reputation, but things never quite work out the way youād hope.
All of that led to his current position: sitting at the bar of the Wreak with a bag of frozen peas on his face, waiting for a basket of French fries that he hoped would lift his mood and for Kieās shift to end.
His mood brightened slightly when the shift change brought more than he had hoped for. You walked behind the bar, throwing on your apron and name tag before grabbing the steaming basket of fries off the counter and placing it on the bar in front of him.
You tilted your head, no doubt noticing the purple and blue that marred his face. He placed the bag of peas down on the bar and looked at you, taking you in, the throbbing in his face long forgotten. "If you think this is bad, you should see the other guyās fist." His tone was cocky and despite the pain, he flashed you a smile.
You brought your hand up to your face trying to cover a growing smile and hold in a laugh. JJ couldn't help but wonder what other faces he could have you making.
"But enough about me." he grabbed a frie from the basket and pointed it at you, "Wha's your name, pretty girl?"
You shook your head, "Well, don't you bounce back quick?"
"Eh," JJ shrugged, "Not the first time and it won't be the last. Now bout that name?"
Before you could reply, you heard the kitchen doors open, followed by a very angry Kie rolling up to the counter. "The hell, JJ?!"
You couldn't help but be a little shocked never seeing your new coworker so worked up. She wasted no time dragging JJ towards the back of the restaurant, caring little for his reply.
He leaned back attempting to get another glance of you behind the bar, "The new waitress is cute."
Kie rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest. āYou're avoiding the subject, JJ.ā
"Ugh okayā¦ā JJ ran his fingers through his messy blonde hair. āYou know the girl at the party last weekend? Well, apparently she wasn't as single as she let on... "
"Oh god..." she groaned.
"Yeah, and apparently Kelce isn't fond of sharing..." He couldnāt help but chuckle a little at how pissed Kelce looked when confronting him earlier.
Kie's eyes widened at the blonde's words, "You did notā¦"
āHow was I supposed to know?! I can't keep up with every Kook princess and her boyfriend of the week!ā The blonde paused taking a breath. āHonestly, I'm swearing off Kooks. I can't take any more of the prissy shit and I don't need Rafe or his goons coming after me every time I 'taint' their property. No more kooks just clueless Tourons who are here one minute and gone the next and cute Pogue girls that know how to have a good time."
Kie lets out a sigh. "Youāre disgusting!"
"You know me, here for a good time, not a long time." He gives her a laugh and shrugs.
"Jesus," She shook her head once more, "let me grab my shit and I'll drive you to the Chateau."
JJ made his way back to you leaning over the bar, "you got a pen?"
You gave him a quizzical look before handing him the pen out of your apron.
JJ proceeded to write his number on a napkin and handed it to you, āText me.ā
You roll your eyes, feigning annoyance, āWeāll see.ā
That was a month and a half ago.
It was just a casual thing. At least thatās what JJ told himself.
But the more the two of you hung out, the more he brought you around his friends, and the more he indulged in the way your naked body felt pressed up against his, the less he liked the idea of casual or the possibility of anyone else having you.
You were so real, so down to earth. You worked hard, knew what you wanted, and how to get it. On top of all that, you were drop dead gorgeous.
All things that distracted from the small, still unknown, detail that you were a kook.
You had told yourself you would tell him before things got too serious, but before you knew it you were thrown into the deep end.
Your head rested lazily on JJ's bare chest, both of you still trying to catch your breath.
His blue eyes sparkled with something you couldn't quite name. "Whacha thinking about, handsome."
He bit his lip, contemplating his next words. "I really like you... Like really like you. I don't usually do relationships because they're messy and people get hurt, but I really don't want to be with anyone else and I don't think I could stand seeing you with another guy... so..."
JJ tried willing the words he wanted to say out of his mouth but before he could you said them yourself, "JJ Maybank are you asking me to be your girlfriend?ā
His tongue pressed into the inside of his cheek as he looked up at the ceiling, āDepends⦠would you say āyesā?ā
You giggle, "'m not sure... why don't you ask and find out."
He smiled pulling you up closer so you were inches from his face. "alright beautiful, will you be my girlfriend?"
You looked away, pretending to be deep in thought,Ā "Hmmm... I don't know..." you looked up to find his face twist with anticipation and you couldnāt help but giggle, āYes! I would love to be your girlfriend.ā You leaned in to kiss him.
"Baby, you will be the death of me..." his lips found yours and refused to leave your skin the rest of that night.
The Wreak was a disaster. 4th of July was next week and the island was already packed with vacationers. You were scrambling taking orders, delivering food, and desperately missing the little sleep you had gotten the night before.
JJ was sat at the bar waiting patiently for you to get off of work after you agreed to stay an extra hourĀ to help out. Despite the chaos things were moving rather smoothly.
However, all good things come to an end.
The door opened with a chime and you were greeted by the unwelcome sight of Rafe and Topper. It was all you could do but pray that he didnāt notice you.
Rafe had his sights on you the moment you moved to Figure 8. You were the only girl who didnāt fall for his charms and access to the Cameron wealth. Unfortunately for you, rather than causing him to steer clear of you, it only increased his interest.
Rafe turned to find you dropping off a to-go order at the hostess stand. "What the hell are you doing in here, princess?"
You were a few feet from the bar and JJ was about to head over to prevent you from getting harassed by the Kook King himself, but your voice made him pause.
You rolled your eyes "What do you want, Rafe?"
His eyes roamed over your figure. "What's with the waitress get up? There's no way your working here. Lord knows you don't need petty tips when your dad could afford to buy this place out."
What..? JJ was desperate to shake off the comment. Rafe must have the wrong girl. Maybe there's some Kook that looks like you or something?
"Some of us would rather work to make our own way rather than live off of daddyās money." you tried to walk away but Rafe grabbed your arm.
"Common, Princess.ā Rafe leaned closer, āWhen are you gonna let me take you out?"
You tried to lean out of his grasp to no avail. "Rafe, for what has to be the thousandth time, I have a boyfriend."
"Yeah that filthy Pogue." There was no mistaking the disgust his voice. "You know a pretty Kook like you should stay on her side of the island,ā He caressed your arm, despite your efforts to move away from his hold. āAnd if you were my girl, you would never work a day in your life."
You forcefully yanked your arm out of his grasp, "And that's your problem, Rafe. You know nothing about me.ā
You turned to head towards the bar. Your heart sank when you were met with blue eyes filled with hurt. You could feel your heart crack inside your chest. He heard everything.
You didnāt meant to lie to him. Okay, lying was a stretch, but you did hide the truth from him. You had always meant to tell JJ about your ākookā status, despite the stupidity of the island class system, but things happened so quickly and before you knew it things got very real very fast.
You watched as JJ made a beeline for the door. You ran out the door after him, hoping to stop him, and explained yourself. "JJ wait!!" You pushed your way through the sea of people and out the door just in time to watch him ride away on his bike, leaving you in a cloud of dust.
It had been two weeks since the incident at the Wreck. JJ refused to return your texts or answer your calls. Instead, choosing to kick himself for not knowing you were a kook and being pissed that you lied to him.
You never outright said anything about your social standing. You never labeled your self a Pogue but he felt it was a lie of omission.
Regardless, being pissed off faded rather quickly and now he was just sad that you hid part of you from him. Thinking back on it he realized he knew next to nothing about your family or even where you lived.
He was face down on the couch in the chateau living room.
JB and Pope walked in to see him in the same position as he left him the night before, lying on the couch, looking like a kicked puppy.
āAlright this I just getting sad dude," Pope sat on the arm of the couch looking at the blonde.
"Yeah, man." John B grabbed a couple beers from the fridge and tossed on to Pope. "Youāve been moping over this girl for weeks.ā
JJ sat up rubbing the 'sleep' from his eyes, āFuck you, Iām not moping.ā
Pope rolled his eyes before, āDude, youāve barely left the chateau.ā He pulled at the curtain allowing the bright summer sun to stream in. āLook, I know she wasnāt exactly forthcoming with her social status, but you know sheās a good person.ā
"Yeah, man! Besides dating a Kook isnāt the end of the world,ā John B couldnāt help but smile. āSo, for the love of anything that might still be holy. Go get her back!ā
JJ knew they were right. You were more than just a Kook and he was kicking himself for not seeing past that. He wasted little time calling Kie and asking for your address.
He spent a good 20 minutes pacing the driveway before making his way to the door. He wasnāt even sure if anyone, let alone you, was home.
What if your parents answered? Oh god, that would not be ideal.
āNut up or shut up, dude,ā JJ whispered to himself before ringing the doorbell.
In the minute it took you to get to the door, a million thoughts ran through JJās head as he paced back and forth waiting forā¦
The large green door opened to you standing in comfy clothes. Your eyes were puffy, but you were the same beautiful girl who had refused to leave his head.
You couldn't help being a a little shocked when you opened the door to see the blonde that you had missed so much over the past two weeks. Despite your heart quickening in his presence you refused to look at him, āWhat do you want JJā¦?ā
āTo apologize⦠to say I overreacted and that I havenāt stopped thinking about you. That Iām a dumbass and shouldnāt have judged you because of your parentsā tax bracket and the stupid hierarchy of this island.ā JJ was dangerously close to rambling, but you didn't look like you were going to speak any time soon.
He really wished you would look at him.
āLook⦠I donāt expect forgiveness or another chance, but I needed you to know that ām sorry.ā He put his hands gently on your shoulders, hoping you would look at him rather than run away.
Rather than tense, you relaxed into his touch. āYou are a good person, and money doesnāt negate that fact.ā
You let out a breath you didnāt know you were holding. āI should have told you⦠But after hearing from Kie that you swore off Kooks, I was scared that you wouldnāt see me for meā¦ā
"None of that matters now." He forward closing the gap between you, āI love you for you.ā
āYou love me?ā Your eyes met his and heat rose into your cheeks.
JJ's head fell back, a small smile gracing his lips, āFuck, this is not how I wanted that to come out, but yes I love you.ā
You were quick to return his words, āI love you too, JJ.ā You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer. āFor richer or poorer.ā You let out a giggle as JJ rolled his eyes. He wasted little time lifting you into his arms and kissing you, relishing in the softness of your lips that he has missed so much.
As always, feedback, likes, comments, and reblogs are appreciated!

ā”ļø pairing: yuki tsunoda x chef!reader | ā”ļø wc: 1.1k ā”ļø genre: fluff, angst, humor ā”ļø recommended listening: midnight city, m83 ⢠fine line, harry styles ⢠the archer, taylor swift ⢠talk, khalid & disclosure ⢠adore you, harry styles ā”ļø incoming radio: my first ever fic on this account has to be dedicated to my the love of my life @tsunodaradio . if i was the one to get them into F1, they were the one who gave me my love of writing.
ā”ļø summary: It was a tradition. A secret. A fleeting thing that only existed within the neon-lit haze of race week.
The first time you met, he was stealing food.
Or at least, thatās what it looked like.
It was just past midnight, and you were stacking chairs when you caught himāballcap tucked under his arm, hoodie pulled low over his face, fingers curled around a skewer of chicken satay that wasnāt his. Youād left it sitting on the counter for less than thirty seconds, meant for a post-rush snack, but now it was halfway to his mouth, his expression frozen somewhere between guilt and shamelessness.
"Technically," he said, chewing as he spoke, "this was unattended."
"Technically," you echoed, crossing your arms, "youāre an entitled asshole."
He grinned at that, like youād passed some kind of test, and then tossed a crumpled bill onto the counterāfar more than what a single skewer was worth. "Keep the change, chef."
And that was that.
The next time he showed up, it wasnāt to steal food. Not really.
He came back the following year, race week in full swing, stepping into your kitchen like he belonged there. This time, he waited until you handed him a plate before taking a bite. "Better service than last year," he mused, mouth full. You only rolled your eyes. But you let him stay.
It became a thing.
Every Singapore Grand Prix, without fail, he found his way to you. Always late at night, always when the world had quieted down. He never told you when he was comingānever texted, never calledābut somehow, he was always there.
Youād hear the creak of the door, feel the shift in the air before you even looked up. Sometimes heād lean against the counter like he owned the place, sometimes heād slip onto a stool and watch you work, sometimes heād take a skewer straight off the grill like it was his God-given right.
A few drinks sometimes lingered in his system, but never too manyājust enough to soften the sharp edges, to make him stay a little longer. You never asked if he was coming from a party or a meeting or some late-night walk meant to clear his mind. He never asked why you stayed so late at the restaurant.
It was just understood.
And you liked him best like thisāloose-limbed and a little reckless, spinning a chopstick between his fingers, commenting on your technique like he knew a damn thing about food.
"Too much salt.""Youāre eating for free. Shut up.""You love me."
He said it like a joke, like he was testing the weight of the words in the air. You rolled your eyes, shoving a bowl toward him, watching as he took the first bite. But you never said no.
And maybe you did.
But neither of you said it. That wasnāt the point of this.
It was a tradition. A secret. A fleeting thing that only existed within the neon-lit haze of race week.
Until this year. Until now.
Until tonight, when Yuki stands in your doorway, hands shoved into the pockets of his hoodie, andāfor the first timeādoesnāt move.
The air between you feels heavier than usual. Maybe itās the race. Maybe itās the exhaustion dragging at his limbs, the adrenaline finally burning out. Or maybe itās the fact that, this time, he didnāt just show up to eat.
This time, he lingered.
Dinner had stretched longer than usual, silence slipping into spaces that used to be filled with easy conversation. Heād eaten slower, eyes flicking to you between bites, like he was trying to memorize something. You caught him staring once, and he didnāt look away.
Now, in the doorway, you see it againāthat almost hesitation. Like he wants to say something he never has before.
"Do you ever get tired of leaving?"
You donāt know why you ask it. Maybe you already know the answer. Maybe you just want to hear him say it.
Yuki exhales, the ghost of a laugh passing through his lips. "Do you?"
You tilt your head. "I donāt leave. You do."
And there it isāthe truth of it. The thing neither of you have ever acknowledged.
His fingers twitch at his sides. He looks backājust once, like heās considering staying. Like, for the first time, heās wondering what would happen if he didnāt walk away.
And then he steps forward. Itās almost like a reflexāhe doesnāt say anything. He doesnāt need to. His hand finds your jaw, his thumb pressing into your skin as he pulls you close, his lips crashing against yours like this has been waiting for years.
Itās fast. Hungry. Full of things that neither of you have said out loud. His kiss tastes like spice, like the long hours of work and the briefest hint of something more. You pull him closer, fingers knotting into his hoodie, and for the first time, neither of you think about the morning.
Your back hits the counter. His hands slide down, gripping your waist like heās trying to ground himself, like heās afraid this is just another thing that will disappear when the night is over. You donāt stop him. You let him have thisālet yourself have thisābecause for once, thereās no audience, no cameras, no pressure to be anything but what you are.
Thereās just you. Just him. Just this.
When the kiss breaks, youāre both breathing heavily. His forehead presses against yours, his eyes wide, searching yours like heās looking for something. For permission, maybe. Or an answer.
"We donāt have to talk about this," he says, voice quiet. "But we canāt pretend it didnāt happen."
You canāt say anything. You donāt need to. Thereās something heavy in the air, but its not fear. Itās anticipation.
The night stretches on, tangled between the quiet moments of touch, of words unspoken, of almost.
But as the first light of dawn seeps through the kitchen window, Yuki is pulling on his jacket, zipping it up with slow precision.
"I should go," he says, the weight of it more present than ever. You want to tell him to stay, to make him stay, but you donāt.
He glances at you one last time before stepping toward the door. But as his hand rests on the knob, thereās that pause again. That fleeting moment where he could do something different. He could walk back to you. He could kiss you again.
But he doesnāt.
"See you next time," he says, the words thick with meaning this time.
And then heās gone.
You stand in the stillness of the kitchen, the smell of spices lingering in the air, and you wonderāmaybe for the first timeāif youāll ever stop saying goodbye.
Because you know how this goes.
Yuki Tsunoda always leaves in the morning.
But maybe, just maybeā
One day, he wonāt.
