i've always hated my work portrait because it doesn't really look like me even though i chose it because i really liked how i looked in the raw file. anyway it took me until yesterday to figure out just what all they retouched without me asking them to lol

slightly plumped my lips

narrowed my face

opened my eyes more

removed that line on my neck

removed dark circles

darkened my skin tone

removed a shadow under my chin

removed some freckles

my shirt (for some reason)

probably something else i missed

still thinking about the Jack Delano photograph I reblogged yesterday that described it as a “medium format negative.” At first I was like oh I’m being a little petty by quibbling with that but no, actually. Because there’s no chance that’s a scan from the original negative. It’s gotta be a scan of a print, and it might not even be a print from the original negative. If you’re gonna attribute the medium, be specific but also be accurately specific; the negative probably looks nothing like the print
