Lock Life on the Tenn-Tom Waterway

The Great Loop’s Mississippi/Alabama string of locks along the “Tennessee -Tombigbee” Waterway has been a challenge. The journey is beautiful, but very remote and requires frequent anchoring out. More than anything the cold weather has kept us on our toes. Even Okee is wearing a scarf. She seems slightly irritated. Even so, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. so remember the whole “ruby’s mother is river song and she’s the doctor’s secret daughter” post i made way back in march? not sure how much of it still stands a chance, but it would click neatly with the doctor’s pointed insistence that “he hasn’t had children yet” and susan was his granddaughter from the future. basically, in a very soap-opera kind of obvious twist that i’d gobble up, the hidden song deep inside ruby’s heart could be the “river’s song”. when their long darilium night was nearing its end, river wiped the doctor’s mind to keep ruby safe from harm by association with her parents’ lives of danger and death, dropped her back on earth as a foundling, and fucked off to the library.

maybe some day in her future, ruby sunday will have a daughter, and that unearthly child’s name will be susan. something will happen to ruby and they’ll get separated forever. but before they lose one another, before ruby sends susan sailing down the river of time like moses’ mother placed him in a basket to float down the nile, she will instruct susan — when you get there, go find your grandfather. this is imperative: don’t tell him about me. don’t tell him anything. he’ll look after you as best he can. you’ll have all these wonderful adventures together, i promise. try not to look back.

DAY 14: Risk and Reward PERSONA 5 BABYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

Thank you so much for @eriisaam for the suggestion of this alt and inadvertently saying my sleeper agent phrase. Persona 5 is possibly one of my biggest artistic inspirations and generally one of my favorite things. Goro Akechi ruined my god damn life and everyday I get closer to stealing Joker's gender. I adore this game.

Back to the actual risk and reward banner— It seems to have this fairytale theme? I could be wrong and it's more of an Alice in Wonderland beat, but I noticed Cath was clearly giving Cheshire cat and I think Nina was meant to be red ridding hood? I took this as evidence enough to ask friends to list some quintessential fairytales from off the dome and Cinderella was in the top three each time. I think that already works well thematically for Kiran, but then I remembered Sumire's persona is Cendrillion, an opera of a 1698 version of the fairytale. And then I remembered the glass weapons in Awakening.

Aw yeah, it's all coming together.

This one might have taken a bit longer, but I hope it was clear how much fun I was having. This felt like such a return to form for me. Got to smack two of my obsessions together into some of the most indulgent art for me personally.

I did an art trade last month!!!!

So I traded art with the amazing @magicluckacorn and I drew them a coupla things!!!

For them I painted their lady River and her pet, Pearl!!

I also added something extra where I drew their AB Siffrin and AB Loop!!

They look so cool together and this what SUCH a fun art trade!!!! <3333
