Who The Hell Is Ralph?

I'm a cishet gender nonconforming man... probably older than you are (let's just say I'm drawing a health sum from Social Security).

If I'm cishet, what's so GNC about me? First, let's talk terminology.

Cisgender simply means that I present, and identify, as the gender that conforms to my biological sex. I have the Y chromosome, the dangly bits, the testosterone factor, the body and facial hair, and the arrogance. I'm all man.

Heterosexual means I'm attracted to the opposite sex, specifically my long-suffering wife of over 40 years.

GNC means I don't play by the rules. Society says men shouldn't get all emotional. Men should be fighters, not nurturers. Men should absolutely never wear skirts or dresses. And men should always rule the roost. Head of household. Control their wives.

Yes, well. Society can sod off.

As I said, I'm all man... where it matters, and I have the offspring and grand-offspring to prove it. But yeah... I find skirts and dresses more comfortable. And my wife is a far more dominant personality than I am, so... I take the back seat.

She would never agree that ours is a female-led relationship, but trust me - it is. Sure, I'm free to disagree, go against her wishes, argue with her. And I do, because... did I mention the Y chromosome and testosterone? It makes us stupid. So I spend a lot of nights curled up alone in bed in a fetal position, wishing I hadn't said what I did. And she ends up getting her way anyway, so why bother pushing back? And she's nearly always right. It's better for both of us and a peaceful marriage if I just shut up and submit from the start. Stupid testosterone. Which brings me to my short (mostly) fiction story, "Submission Guidelines". It's a picture of what might have been, had I been less arrogant and she been more willing to admit she's the one who (literally and figuratively) wears the trousers in our family.

Happy Art Monday!

Today, I'm sharing a close-up of an intimate moment between Moon Jeong-Hui and Angeliki Alexakou. This piece focuses on a whisper, capturing the subtle emotions and connection between them.

Jeong-Hui is softly saying the 'ou' sound from the Korean word 'Noona', highlighting the tenderness of the moment.

I'm really proud of how this turned out, especially the shape of Jeong-Hui's lips. It was a real challenge to capture the sound of the whisper.

At first, I considered drawing their entire faces, but I think this composition adds a layer of mystery, intensity, and intimacy so I kept it that way.

As you may already know, I have problems visualizing faces, that's why I use real people to represent my characters, kind of like casting actors for a TV show. Casting is: Song Kang (Moon Jeong-Hui) and Vicky Papadopoulou (Angeliki Alexakou).

Hey, I'm the anon from before (The one about "pushing a label") I felt like I didn't come off clear. Be masculine, sure. but don't lie to yourself saying you want to dominate men.

I think some of you can agree with me that role reversal is delusional shit, and you should just let women be masculine and that's it.

I'm not even saying it isn't possible to be in these roles. It's just not what the community wants. By and large, I know deep down these women don't want to take up dominant mantles in society for boys. They just want to be masculine and date men.

In fact, we can also tell by how the rest are emulating yaoi/mlm subculture. The body types of the men you guys like are the same muscular chubbby and skinny boy, usually taller than the woman. Not feminine bodies at all (even when it comes to plus sized bodies) And never the role reversal one. In all of the art shown, The woman usually looks INDISTINGUISHABLE from a man, and wearing a tuxedo. You very rarely see them actually write/draw true role reversal. I'm fine with you guys being masculine in any way. But please don't lie when you say you want role reversal.

Anon, be more clear when talking about what you mean. I'll admit some comments you've made about art representation may be true, but understand there are women who live by these dynamics, just that societal shame is attached to these desires and can omit certain things. You think it's forbidden? Are you scared of a "Role-Reversed Society"? Is it forbidden for women to want what men can easily get? Call me the devil, sweetheart, I'll burst your bubble for you. It'll get a little scary:

Challenging gender roles tackles a bigger beast than gender. ALL women struggle because it is barred from them regardless of masculine or feminine identities. Patriarchy dissuades women from taking any amount of dominance FOR men. Your internalization of your gender roles proves this too. You're aware of how we're pressured to not desire this, yet isn't this account is truly dedicated to talking about it's inclusion? It's such a repressed natural desire it is directly because of misogyny and it's relation to affirming our own womanhood. Your version of womanhood is thin and isn't healthy for the diverse types of women.

Happy Art Monday! I'm very excited to share the finished drawing of Moon Jeong-Hui, which I completed last Friday. I'm thrilled with how it turned out! I envisioned him with the likeness of the Korean actor Song Kang. As of today, it might be my best drawing. Since last week's WIP, I've made some changes: added a watch on his wrist, and now he's directly looking at us. His shirt collar features the embroidered logo of the workwear fashion brand managed by his company, Bertrand, called Elegance. Their slogan? "For everyone. Because you matter." Jeong-Hui stands in front of the vertical slats blinds of the meeting room, where he'll spend countless hours helping Angeliki manage her huge company. I loved drawing the watch, the logo, the glass surfaces of his glasses and watch, and of course, his hair. I'll share the time-lapse in the future. A bit more about Jeong-Hui: he was promoted to be Angeliki's secretary as a trap set by his supervisor, expecting him to fail. But Jeong-Hui is exceptional at his job. Starting at the bottom and climbing the ranks, he knows the company inside out. His dedication and problem-solving skills are unmatched. Without Jeong-Hui, the company's crisis at the start of the story would have caused severe damage, and Angeliki might not have survived without losing everything. He's truly indispensable. I might draw him more in the future, so stay tuned for that and the upcoming time-lapse!
