do you have any thoughts on super-hero comic muscles and physiques? not a judgement, i just see that you tend to not do the exaggerated bodies that you normally see in comic heroes
I tend to not draw out the exaggerated superhero muscles because my middle-grade-cartoon style lends better to smoothening and softening the shape language of the more "realistic" style of cape comics, but a part of it is also just trying to normalize different body types!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For a character as conventionally strong man looking as Superman, I borrow a lot of my version of Superman from the way Gurihiru stylized him. Even then, I don't draw the exaggerated tapered in waist or shoulders as broad as they, and many cape artists, do. Because that body type isn't actually strong! It's all aesthetic Mr Universe Hollywood man body type you get from dehydrating and starving yourself that people wrongly associate with healthy strength by conflating it with beauty standards.

So I wanted to draw Clark with an actual strongman physique! I think it just makes sense for a boy who grew up on a farm to naturally buff out into a strongman body.
I understand that it's all stylization and escapism at the end of the day- but when I think about that comic artist who made fun of the MCU Namor actor for not being as buff as he is- it's a reminder that depicting different bodies in our escapism matters! I know Robert Pattison was joking when he said that he skipped out on doing a routine to get into shape for playing Batman, but the guy was onto something.

Loki’s fun because even if his magic is blocked off you KNOW he’s ready to throw hands. Magic isn’t even his go-to attack he’d try violently with his fists first. The no-magic measures mean nothing to him.

good morning and happy monday to everyone but especially to this print of Thor trying to pick up Jörmungandr disguised as a cat
cats have always been cats even when they're serpents like. "body gets longer while paws remain on the ground" ah yes a classic

Okay, all of us Loki fans always lament the fact that the scene when Frigga officially hands the throne to Loki was cut. And for good reason, the acting and dialogue add a lot to the story. But there is one thing that people specifically are upset about that while that scene certainly helps, it isn't necessary to make this point.
In the scene where Sif and the Warriors 3 find Loki on the throne, sometimes we act like it truly does look like Loki usurped the throne because we don't literally see the scene with Frigga in the final cut. Except Loki literally tells them (and the audience) what happened. He says that Odin fell into the Odinsleep and Frigga was so grieved that she refuses to leave his side. Since Thor was banished, that means Loki is the next in line for the throne as interim king. Loki told them the truth, not his fault that they immediately were suspicious of him for *checks notes* allowing his mother to stay at his ill father's side, following the line of succession while knowing that it would be temporary, and not going back on Odin's last decree because as I said this is temporary so imagine Odin waking up to Thor having been banished for only a few hours.
Yes, I love that deleted scene, but I think it adds more than just "oh yeah Loki didn't usurp the throne" because that is already explained in the scene with Sif and the Warriors 3. I think that scene certainly added to it but it wasn't absolutely necessary. Because anyone with a basic understanding of hereditary monarchies should understand why Loki was on the throne.
I genuinely think that the people that think Loki usurped the throne just don't understand the movie. And I doubt one extra scene would make them understand it. I don't think this is a problem with the movie itself taking out one scene. I think this is a problem with the audience not having media literacy and being so convinced this is a standard hero/villain dichotomy that they can't realize that Loki's character is much more complicated that simply being a villain. I doubt a single scene would make people realize Loki isn't a throne usurping power hungry villain. They'd probably try to say that scene was Loki manipulating Frigga into handing over the throne or something ridiculous.

I SAW SOMEONE SAY MOBIUS GIVES OFF ODIN VIBES WHEN TALKING ABOUT HIS DYNAMIC WITH LOKI.
Odin???? Odin the terrible father??? Odin "Your birthright was to die" Odin??? Odin who lied to Loki his whole life and his original plan for him was to be a political peace offering??? That Odin??? And you think Mobius, Loki's best friend Mobius, "Thanks for the spark!" Mobius, hugged Loki for so long its the longest hug in the MCU Mobius, was obsessed with Loki variants Mobius gives off the same vibes??
I can't do this, WHAT about their dynamic gives off father and son??? "But Don's sons are literally Loki and Thor! Look at their bikes!" God forbid a man have two sons 😭
Anyways I think it's important to share this again:

Did you see ThorFluke posted a new tiktok together?
Shut up! No, I didn’t. Thor, baby, you have to cross post these things. I’m too old to check TikTok.
But oh my god, this gives me so much hope that maybe Thor is making a cameo in MuTeLuv. Or Only Friends. Or something! I need them back desperately.

Get a life, saying Taika Waititi ruined Thor, the real question is who ruined you to threat a FICTIONAL character like a real human being and trying to ruin the very real life and career of a person, besides you think Marvel it's otherworldly good? Those movies are pathetic, every single one follows the same template and Martin Scorsese was right, that's not real cinema. Yes, it's cool the idea of superheroe movies but a very different one it's losing the sense of reality for horrible that it can be, check yourself and contemplate the harm you are causing to someone because you are bullying them online, probably what someone did to you at one point, most geeks have that in common, be better. Honestly doubt you are so perfect and for you answer, he lost himself for a bit, that's why things weren't perfect, he was going through things while he developed that movie, he said so himself, that he lost his love for the art for a bit and in part it's because of things like this, people hating for the sake of it, no other reason, excuse him for being himan. Just leave him alone and move on, write some fanfiction fixing what you didn't like and move on, leave the guy alone, he's not doing anything to you by existing and he's not attached to the movies anymore. Whatever happened or not inside Marvel between TW and KF to make decisions over TLAT we will never know but there's a reason why senior executives have quit since then.
This ask was sent to me a few days ago when this news came:

Like I've said, I'm so glad Marvel has kicked him out so hard and wants to categorically veer from his version of Thor. And everyone hates him now. He deserved this and more. ☺️
Here is my masterpost for everyone detailing how this terrible director ruined Thor like he had a vendetta against him. And here is the tag on my blog to view all the criticisms against him from me and others. Have fun.

Listen, Thor may be a hot-head ready to punch a man in the face for cutting his wife's hair on the middle of the night, but he's still a supportive husband
EDIT: I forgot to include these little doodles I did of Sif's fixed up short hair and then an idea for her new hair
