Took a shot at drawing the boys as mermaids! This was fun to do and since now its may, I can share this! This was also done with designing how i vision them for an au I had for a long time now.

The gist of the au is basically Y/N being born and raised in an aquarium for their whole life! Them becoming perfectly comfortable and content with what they have, but do sometimes wonder what the ocean is like—since that's their true home!

Sun and Moon are mers that are captured and brought to the facility/aquarium that y/n resides in. Which they aren't too happy with, since they despise humans. While y/n is promised with new roommates, which are mers just like them!

Y/n, Sun and Moon have a rough start since Y/n favors humans and is for better word, a shameful representation of merpeople in Sun and Moon eyes. But don't worry, overtime, they learn to get along and appreciate one another! In the end, who knows if they manage to convince Y/n to escape with them back home!

decided to get back to my roots for a bit and tackle redesigns of my all-time favourite mlp G3 dream team : 3 these five have shaped my early 2010s and helped me to grow both as an artist and storyteller (i started writing silly little fanfics and my own take on the then-hypothetical G5 based on G3 and these five characters in particular), so they have, and always will have my entire heart.

i came up my own kind of au version of G3 and here are some of my small headcanons for each character!!

Rainbow Dash:

her parents are Parasol (G1 pony) and Barnacle (G1).

she is the oldest (and the tallest!) of the five.

she is a major fashionista and diva, but with a hint of adventurousness and even ferocity behind those eyes. Dash is a fan of all things beautiful, be it bright colours, grand celebrations, and more down-to-earth values.

naturally, her craft is related to rainbows - she draws them with the special paint she makes herself, and it's a very rare knowledge among the Ponyville citizens (Unicornia's rainbow-creating magic works on the same basis as Dash's paint, she just makes it without the unicornian magic involved).

oftentimes she is the voice of reason for her friends.

in her free time she designs clothing in collaboration with Sew-and-So and funds/runs fashion shows.

isn't the biggest fan of sweets (thinks it spoils her figure and coat).

absolutely adores rainy weather (cause rainbows).

is a sap for romance and cheep romantic novels.

Spike:

was born in a dragon tribe living far from pony societies.

was born wingless and with water-based powers, while most dragons breathed fire and had wings, so he's an oddball amongst the common dragons.

the dragons were supposed to work with pony royalty/leaders and protect them. The way the dragons chose did it was passing a test of obtaining a very rare flower only meant to be gifted to the royalty - the Royal Everbloom, a flower which was near impossible to maintain/grow but could bloom for forever.

Spike failed to pass his test of safely delivering the Royal Everbloom back to the tribe, failing to protect the flower from a bad storm so it withered under hard rain. However, Wysteria noticed Spike struggling to keep the flower safe just outside her cottage and brought them both inside - nursing the poor dragon and the flower back to health. It suddenly bloomed under her care, so by the old tradition, it meant that Wysteria belonged to royalty.

cue the events of Princess Promenade pretty much the same as they went down in the original as Spike played the role of mentor and royal advisor to Wysteria. She still rejected the title in the end, proclaiming that Ponyville didn't need royalty to govern over them and that she was no more special than any other.

Spike is humbled (and charmed) by her worldview and decides that he rather enjoys the simple life of local ponies - besides, he has grown deeply devoted to Wysteria and doesn't want their friendship to end, so he parts with his tribe and lives with the purple gardener in her little cottage.

he greatly helps Wystie with gardening - his water-breathing powers come in handy while working with plants! He finds that even if he doesn't breathe fire like "normal" dragons, he still can make his abilities work in other fields.

he is often the brains of the group - his exotic dragonic upbringing is a great contrast to the ponies' more down-to-earth worldviews.

is a vegetarian (idk if all dragons in this universe are or it's just him, but-).

is a big fan of literature of all kinds, especially poetry.

generally is a huge nerd and is prone to rambling about his favourite subjects. Not the most outgoing person, more of an introvert, especially in contrast to most ponies (that's why they match their energies with Wysteria so well).

absolutely adores Wysteria, they are something of platonic soulmates/life-partners. Can be very protective of her, even though he is usually non-threatening/pretty chill (he is her personal dragon guardian!)

Wysteria:

her parents are Blossom (G1) and Salty (G1).

Petal Blossom (G2) is her maternal older cousin.

Wysteria took to gardening and flower arrangement since early years from her mother. Participated in a lot of local fair gardening competitions through her fillyhood and won the majority of them (the trophies are kept at her parents’ house). 

moved out from her parents’ house once she had managed to save up enough money to purchase a small but neat cottage at the edge of the woods; it is located near Ponyville, but quite far from its centre. Pinkie, Minty and Dash like to visit their bestie and her dragon friend on weekends and each time together they plan some really fun activities. 

during spring and summer seasons, Wysteria lives off selling flowers and bouquets at Ponyville’s biggest market. Once autumn hits however, she and Spike stay at one of their three closest friends’, Pinkie, Minty or Dash’s, house until next spring - each year they stay at a different pony’s house. Wysteria and Spike help out with chores and share household duties during their stays, but even regardless of that their friends are simply happy to let the two live with them.  

Wysteria is socially anxious and quite solitary, content with keeping a limited circle of friends to spend time with. Akin to Snufkin she requires a lot of “alone” time away from others, that’s why she likes living so far from the town. However she is very dependable and very very kind, so a lot of ponies confide in her.

hates. weeds. so. much.

often feeds stray and forest animals coming to her cottage. Is fond of bunnies and birds the most.

Pinkie Pie:

her parents are Cotton Candy Snr. (G1) and Slugger (G1). Is a twin sister to Cotton Candy Jr (G3).

Pinkie runs a gift shop along with Minty, her bestie since fillyhood and a life-partner.

works as a party planner as her second job - generally just love celebrations and organising events.

she is a natural leader and is able to make even opposing groups come and work together. Sociable and easy-going, pretty chill to be around.

isn't easily scared and usually doesn't believe things she can't see with her own eyes or try out.

has a MAJOR sweet-tooth: her sister runs an ice-cream cafe, so there's that.

has a "supernatural" ability to come up with a solution to almost anything, - using Pinkie's squink (basically just squeezing her eyes tight and thinking long enough).

is drawn to photography and films.

Minty:

her parents are Minty Snr. (G1) and Steamer (G1). Ice Crystal (G1) is her maternal uncle.

everyone's favourite disaster-monger.

works in a gift shop alongside Pinkie. Generally can't function well without her supervision lol.

Clutzy and socially anxious, but in a different way than Wysteria, Minty is obsessive, hyperactive and makes up for her awkwardness with her pony-pleasing attitude. Enjoys helping others out, it makes her feel important.

can't sit still for long period of time, needs an outlet for her excessive energy.

collects SOCKS.

winter is her favourite season; it reminds her of warmth and companionship of her friends huddled close by the fireplace. Exchanging gifts and stories. Making others smile.

is surprisingly good at checkers.

is claustrophobic, hates being limited.

doesn't enjoy reading that much, but rather likes picture-book illustrations.

So obsessed with Kelpie (my fursona) that I'm making some alternate species designs for them. First up is a gizmo-tank version, but I'm also working on a protogen version

I didn't even have to go out of my way to get a new MYO because my very first gizmo-tank design was a sona (it's under the cut) but I didn't connect with it at all. Gizmo-tanks are allowed to be redesigned, (within certain limitations, generally either trait swapping or design/color changes) so that's what I did. I basically didn't change the pattern, just moved it around in a way I thought looked better and more intentional, and then swapped the traits for ones of equal rarity

Smoke Breath (unc) -> Stayed the same Empty Tanks (vr) -> Liquid: tree sap (vr) Liquid: 1 color water (c) -> In Tank: paintbrushes, paint tubes, magic the gathering cards, cave critters (fish, amphibians, bugs) (there's no restriction on items in tanks, so I just went buck wild) Gills (unc) -> Dragon Wings (unc) Shark Tail (rare) -> Stayed the same Horns (rare) -> Half Tank Bat Ears (rare)

Obviously, this is kind of a weird set of swaps, but I enjoy working with the rules of the species. I know some people don't like closed species because they're restrictive, but I find the limitations make for a fun challenge and push my design skills.

Let's be real, I haven't improved drawing animals that much since I made this lol. The quadruped version up top was done on a base, since it takes me like 3 times as long to draw a decent animal as it does a humanoid

I've been meaning to post this but a while back, I came up with a bunch of redesigns for a more reimagined MLP G5.

1-6: Redesigned versions of the mane 6. As you can see, I tried to give each of them a distinct color so they would stand out to each other.

7: A redesign of Sparky so they would look more like a dragon from G4 since G5 is meant to a continuation of G4.

7-9: Redesigns of some of the G5 antagonists. Most notably making Allura more sphynx like and making Opaline's color palette less bold.

10-14: Finally some designs of parents of G5's characters. First is Sap Cloverleaf, who supposed to be Sprout's dad as well as the previous sheriff of Maretime Bay. Very racist. Next are Indigo Moonbeam and Violet Galaxy Swirl, parents of Izzy Moonbow. Finally, there's Argyle Starshine and Starshine Glow, parents of Sunny Starscout. I liked the idea of Sunny's mom being a unicorn.

Introducing some older OCs, Venus and Ivy!

I recently gave both a redesign and changed a little bit of their lore, but they are still somewhat the same as the originals! ^^

Venus

Conceptualized for Solaris ( Venus’ older brother) that you may see very soon… 👀

His pronouns are He/They

Venus is originally a dragon/draconic monster that condensed his form down to the size of an average-sized monster. Because of this, he can shift between this form and a much larger draconic form.

He is 1 of 2 baby dragons born of his brood, one of the last few remaining fire dragons left.

Due to complications with his body in early development, the amount of magic in his body exceeded that of normal standards, resulting in an insane over abundance of magic (as represented/seen by the raging flames coming out of him). Because of this, if not maintained, his own magic will swallow him up and inevitably lead to an early grave 💀

To counteract this (and combined with his fascination with monster society), he left his life of being a dragon to open up a restaurant to show off his culinary skills/interests ^^

The process of cooking monster food imbues the chef’s magic into the food, causing a healing/comforting effect that can buff(and in some cases, heal) the consumer. Since Venus has lots of magic to give, he uses cooking to find a healthy outlet for all of his excess magic!

His restaurant is now renowned for serving delicious food, but also serving creative and beautiful dishes!

Ivy

Conceptualized based off of sundew plants (the carnivorous ones)

Pronouns are He/They/Its.

Extremely tall and lanky. This creature has problems fitting into buildings and doors.

Anti-Social and introverted by nature. Doesn’t really talk much and doesn’t know how to properly express itself.

A unique individual, unlike any other in the entire world. It shouldn’t have existed in the first place. It’s unnatural.

Predatory in nature, it requires magic to sustain itself, feeding off of the magic/life-force of other living beings until they’re drained dry (similar to vampirism in that regard). It uses its tendrils to grab prey and sap energy from them quickly.

Always in a near-starving state (until it met Venus).

Volunteers his fighting capabilities to a well-known colosseum, where he fills in for wounded fighters or is requested to help put on a show.

Other than that, he tends to want to stay inside or away from crowded areas. A homebody.

Venus and Ivy Fun-Facts!

Venus and Ivy are (funnily enough) in a romantic relationship together! ^^ They started off as friends, then became roommates. You can imagine what happened afterwards haha 🤭

They live together. While Venus manages his restaurant during the day, Ivy tends to the house.

They don’t go out often together, instead opting for plenty of house dates (which typically include curling up together and watching movies or shows).

As you’d expect, Venus keeps Ivy very well fed! He cooks all the time for his partner and makes sure Ivy doesn’t ever starve ever again! And in return, Ivy always keeps an eye on Venus’ magic level, making sure it doesn’t exceed his limits 🤗

Trolls AU: The Depths

They say in ancient times, before Trolls sang, they practiced magic. No one knows if these legends are true, as no remnants of the civilization has ever been found.

But no one has thought to look underground...

Decided to finally start posting about my main Trolls AU! Its not so much of an alternate universe as it is a continuation of the main story (with a hint of the Infection AU trend)

I love the idea of ancient Trolls practicing magic before they practiced music like an usual mythology. But like most highly magical races in stories, they flew too close to the sun, and their desire to achieve greater magic causes their downfall.

Very inspired by Hollow Knight, the ancient trolls kingdom lies DEEP DEEP underground. Infested with Trolls infected by their own magic, creatures and animals of enormous size and ferocity, and the descendants of ancient trolls who will kill any outsider that comes near. And above we see the poor fuckin sap who winds up in The Depths after crawling his way out of the body of a giant animal that tried to eat him and the chef (the chef wasn't so lucky)

Creek has been in The Depths since the end of the first movie. Using his small size, he was able to worm his way out of the body of large creature that ate him and the Chef, and wound up deep underground in the ruins of some ancient civilization. He tried for months to find his way back to the surface, but so far has found none.

And after a run-in with a particularly ferocious beast resulting in his back being completely burned, Creek realized there was no getting out. He was trapped. Likely forever. And it's his own fault.

(I also wanted to throw in my own Creek Redesign lol)

Creek remains down in the depths, fighting to survive every hour, every minute. Until one day, a blue troll covered in white patches with plum-colored hair winds up in The Depths, begging Creek for help to find a way out and back to his brothers.

Creek at first wants nothing to do with him. He doesn't trust anything or anyone. He's better off alone. But after considering it... Maybe two sets of eyes and ears will give them more hints to finding a way out. And... It'd be nice to have some company...

(Yes this is a Fleek story cuz I have the Fleek brainrot)

Decided to name this AU "The Depths", since it takes place deep underground (also inspired by LoZ: Tears of the Kingdom)

Creek's lack of an arm is a future event. When he meets Floyd, he has both arms. He'll lose it later on.

Okay so, why have I done this?

I wanted to make my own take on his design because I hate seeing my boy get roasted so hard by his friends for his outfit. I tried to keep some elements akin to his child-self’s design for sake of identification. I specifically kept the appearance of a crop-top (as seen in hs2 when he wears his younger self’s outfit) but with the addition of a skin-suit underneath for some actual practical protection (as I assume he will be doing some fighting at some point in the comic). I also kept his hood (it would be a crime not too) but with the addition of a collar to make it more similar to Commander Karkat’s outfit.

I also had an idea to make his outfit inspired by a Blue Tang, as his original colors are blue and yellow. I liked the addition of darker, more muted colors to keep up with the idea that they’re adults and this world they ended up in did not end up to be all sunshine and rainbows. BUT I kept his brighter colors as accents to call back to his fact. But yeah, idk why but I really liked the idea of theming aspects of his design on this little fishy vvv.

As far as the airbending aspect, outfits from ATLA for airbender are dynamic and move with the wind, which I felt suited John’s original outfit well. I’d imagine his hood will blow with the direction of wind which he is bending. Additionally, the reason he has a thigh back (other than its a little bit slutty) is that by having it attached directly to his thigh, he’s less likely to have it get in his way while fighting/wind/airbending.

Finally, the locket. I’m just a sap but I have a headcanon where he insists on fighting alongside his friends, BUT, that means he has to go off on his own a lot of the time, and isn’t able to see them or his son because of safety reasons. Thus, I think it is just a nice symbolic thing (especially because he is depressed) to have a reminder of people he cares about with him constantly.

I might in the future do a LOK screencap redraw from that scene where Zaheer uses airbending to take the air out of a person’s lungs, but I genuinely don’t know who John might do this to, other than random grunts.

happy belated halloween! i took adderall for the first time in weeks and instead of working on my projects i drew my interpretation/slight redesign of greavard and my overhauled redesign of houndstone!

artist notes below the cut! :D

Greavard

i decided to not spend too much energy trying to keep the "pokemon art style" so i could focus my energy on making him look good

i wanted to keep the core features and make him still recognizable as greavard

i also wanted to stay consistent with the trend of puppy pokemon evolving into a dog pokemon, with the puppy still being passable as a full grown itself (eg: yamper, lillipup, houndour)

my biggest problems lied with how cartoony he looked, so i fixed this by giving him more realistic proportions but still keeping them "puppy-like" by giving him big paws and ears, which are the defining features that puppies have that indicate how big they will be when they grow up

the candle looked stupid and clumsily done, so i made it feel a bit more natural by having it look more realistically like a candle and have the melting wax turn into fur. originally i wanted to have his bangs also be melting wax and make that more of a part of his design, with his fur also looking like dripping wax, but that felt like it would stray too far from the core design

more ghost-like features! i gave him a big long translucent tongue and made his fur turn wispy at the ends of his ears and tail. considered doing this to his "cape" of fur too but it cluttered the design too much

i also considered giving him some kind of chains and shackles like i did with my church grim fakemon i made years ago, but it didn't feel fitting for greavard since his evolution is supposed to be the spirit of a dearly loved pokemon. it made sense for a church grim because theyre supposed to guard graveyards, and their spirits are bound to the graveyard that they're buried at

Houndstone

So I did originally just try and tweak houndstone's design, but every attempt I made just kept getting shafted by the stupid tombstone that looked like a stupid little hat. So he needed an overhaul

Houndstone's dex entry says "A lovingly mourned Pokémon was reborn as Houndstone." Maybe this one evolved after nobody loved him as a greavard (since they sap your life force) and his loneliness caused him to take on a malevolent evolution?

I wanted to keep the mound he had because bulbapedia says it might be referencing a type of burial mound. But in his canon design it makes him look like he has a camel hump. So I transferred it to his shoulders to give him a hyena-like body type, to make it more pronounced, make his silhouette more dynamic, and to make his draped mane look cooler

Gave him more realistic proportions, just like with greavard. No more stupid giant head

Gave him pointy teeth instead of the silly nubbins to make the "malevolent" part more appearant

Replaced his stupid headstone with a candle with a bigger flame. Maybe it's bigger from stealing the life force from so many possible trainers? Also gave him a row of candles down his back to help him look more like an "upgraded" evolution of greavard

Longer bone tail because it's cool

The sprites with the flat colors and his in-game sprites showed his fur as completely white with purple spots on his back and head. I thought the official art was cooler with the color variance so I used that instead

Just realized I forgot to add wisps to the ends of his ear like greavard's but I don't care anymore

Iris just got a design update and a slight redesign to her cloak, i also like putting sparkles into characters hair so i added a bit here.

Iris's sap takes on a variety of colors and can be used to dye armor that refuse to take on the colors of Phia's dyes.

i've been so anxious since the new year -- i'm moving across the country for a new job opportunity, baby sibling is going abroad in the fall (i'mSO PROUD OF THEM BTW)), my birthday is coming up and while i'm happy i'm just... idk i feel sapped? i wanna roleplay, i want to interact, but i'm just... idk, uninspired. i have 2025 redesigns but i'm so scared to show? idk, lots of like... uncertainty and anxiety?!? might delete later but ye...
