Time to yap because i have been given permission.

Just know this may be long because i have lowkey been waiting for this moment. Just know most stories end up covering topics of murder, drugs (if i get that far tbh), and overall bad topics, so just be careful i think. Im not gonna be graphic, very bare, but still, dont read if you dont wanna read about murder and stuff.

Anywayyyy, to start with, The Grim Reaper!!! So, in my oc world, the Grim Reaper and the God (used in a gender neutral way) of Death are two different beings. The Grim Reaper started off as a guy in a small British settlement, during the colonization of the new world in the Americas. He was part of an unknown and undocumented colony because of how short-lived they were. Basically, GR (Grim Reaper) lived in that colony with his pregnant wife, and as we all know, those colonies were eventually plagued with extreme mania, caused the well known Witch Trials! At some point, the colony began to try and say GR’s wife was committing witchcraft, thus making her baby a spawn of pure evil.

In their histeria, they killed her. They stabbed her twice in the stomach, once in the heart. GR watched as they murdered his very pregnant wife and unborn child, and became very anger and bitter to the colony (naturally). They (the colony) believed they had done the right thing, having “saved” the colony. However, they basically just doomed themselves and everyone else in the colony. He went crazy with delusions of a deer-headed figure, urging him to do what he feels is best to avenge his wife and child.

So, in the middle of the night, he went around in each tent and slaughtered every single person of the colony until no one was left. Like pigs. He then went and laid in the winter field near the fire, and carved out his own heart. It’s already broken, why does he need it, amiright?

Days, weeks, months pass as he’s died, and normally, you don’t wake back up. So it was a huge trip when he felt his eyes open back up and some voice speaking to him. Well, it wasnt him, more so an astral projection of himself (sort of), sibce his body was still on the ground, decomposing and covered in snow. In front of GR was a seven to eight foot tall….creature? Thing. With a deer’s skull for a head. It was covered in old moss and grass, black flowers grown into the eye sockets. Turns out that was the physical embodiment of death.

Death offer GR a chance to start anew, work with Death as a prodigy. Sort of. Also just because Death needed someone to help what with all the people dying in this time. So, GR just kinda ends up the Grim Reaper and working with Death. Yeah, im definitely making more posts of these, just in different parts cause this took a small while. Only because this story isn’t as fleshed out.

Also!!! As a heads up, some stories will be in the same parts because they may be too short to be on their own. Also, like i said above, this story isn’t my longest and is meant to be pretty vague and detail-less since im no good at writing.

Not sure you want my opinion on the matter, I don't know a whole lot about that side of the industry. I try not to talk about things I don't fully understand. If I make any mistakes (which I'll try to avoid) I'd like to be corrected. With that being said I appreciate your ask. So, on with the topic!

If I understand correctly, there are three things here: Not being credited for the work they've made and not being given enough work while being paid per the work they do.

Starting with the credit. The concept stills were put into the episode, although with some changes.

Perhaps that's why Viv didn't credit them? Which is odd, sibce there have been changes in the storyboards and to my knowledge they were still credited.

Whatever the case may be, it's payed work. They did work for Viv. And they should be credited for it.

Also, I found something interesting in the replies...

Now about the second issue: Not being given enough work while being paid per the work they do. In my opinion that's highly inconsiderate and negligent. That's how they get money to buy food, they need the money and came to work to get it. That's, well, the whole point.

This reminds me of Covid's unpaid leaves. (Not the same obviously, but now there's no pandemic too so)..

After I was talking to Bunny about the romantic implications of the umbrellas and how fun it is Yuno and Kazui's are on the fucking ground (since that's where their relationships are now too).

Gonna try to fix the spelling errors in these some,

"They're single so they don't have to share an umbrella with anyone. I found it being on the ground a funny note because of the romantic implications. Ya know since umbrellas are usually used in shojo and romance stories to get closer to the person you like."

Along with how all the guilty prisoners from trial one umbrellas are closed.

"The guilties umbrellas are closed and off to the side. Which could mean they're guarded right now. But when all together, only two guys have umbrellas at all. And only Mu for the girls. Well, Mahiru too, but hers is still closed."

Overall, this collaboration is very straightforward with its visual storytelling. I think the umbrellas being open or not can either be interpreted as the owner being closed off or open to their verdict. Yet it may be better to view it as their apology being accepted or rejected. I.E whether they were forgiven first trial or not. Since the second trial results aren't completely locked in since trial two hasn't fully come to a close sibce the end of trial notice has yet to release.

This collaboration seems to be based on the trial one verdicts instead despite the trial two verdicts being know.

Other things to note is the facial expressions of the prisoners.

Mikoto looking confused, Haruka looking uncertain, Mu appearing disinterested or melancholy, Amane seeming unphased, Kotoko being disgruntled and staring straight at the observer.

Kotoko's behavior directly contrasts Yuno and Kazui. Who while having their umbrellas on the ground like here are both smiling. However, the interesting thing about them is their body language.

Both of them are walking away from their umbrellas and leaving the incident behind them. Yuno having one hand a bit behind her as though she just discarded hers while Kazui has his hands in his pockets.

Yuno giving a polite smile while Kazui gives a casual smile with a wink and nod. Showing that in a way they're thankful but only need this for as long as it's necessary in Kazui's case until it gets better and in Yuno's case that she doesn't need it at all she has a hood that she's perfectly fine with relying on instead. Very similar to Amane.

Unlike Futa, Kazui, Mikoto, Kotoko, and Shidou who all have no hoods and need to rely on the umbrellas more. Showing their reliance on other people's opinions of them. But yeah, that's all.

Im gonna play around with making sentences in Koro Creole. Gonna try "I already ate. I made food. I am cooking. I will be full, I will not be hungry"

Here's a highlighted version- I'll try to keep colors the same for parts of the words throughout this post:

Pink is past tense ans blue is future. Idk how to seperate verb from tense in highlighting for english so I highlited the whole word. Orange is the negative

I've chosen those because it means I get to play around with a lot of different verb tenses.

First I gotta put it into spanish, so I think it would be "Ya comí. Hice comida. Estoy cocinando. Estaré lleno, No estaré hambriento"

(OH! this is gonna b rlly hard to read if you don't speak spanish, so I'll write a simple guide right here:

"Ya" means already, "Estar" (and conjugations- for these all the words that begin with "est" are conjugations in line with the tense seen in the english above). "Hice" (and later seen as "Hacer") is "to make". Also sibce the subject (I) and the tense (Past/present/future) are both in the same word as the verb, negatives are written before the verb- that's why "no" is at the front of "I will not be hungry/no estaré hambriento"

I think the rest of the words should be the same order as the english translation above)

But some of the conjugations change/are gotten rid of, and I think they would use the mandarin "Le" for past tense. But I don't like other particles (?) would be used. For future tense ... Since le is already used for past, the two options I have are using "[Verb] + nole" literally saying its Not using the past particle, instead indicating a future tense. I rlly like that and I think it could be interesting to look into how that developed. I could also use a mandarin particle again.

Oh !! Smth else that mandarin does sometimes (I THINK correct me if im wrong) is just implying that it's in the future with surrounding words. Like basically saying "Tomorrow I am eating"- technically using the present tense, but the use of "tomorrow" indicates that it's in the future.

So it then turns into "Ya yo comerle. Yo hacerle comida. Yo estar cocinando. [En el] futuro yo estar lleno, No [yo] estar hambriento"

Literally "Already I eat[Past Particle]. I make[P.P.] food. I be/am cooking. [In the] future I be/am full, not [I] be/am hungry"

I put a couple words in brackets bcs im tentative on their use. When using it in terms of conjugation, I think "In the" might be omitted is saying future. So it would be "Future I am full, i am not hungry" as opposed to "IN THE future I am full, I am not hungry". I also don't know if "I" would be repeated. It could be assumed that since the tense was assumed for the second half, the subject can be as well- like you only gotta state the subject or tense if it changes. So it's then like "Future I am full, am not hungry"

Altho.... Omitting the tense from the second half might cause confusion. That might be were "nole" comes in. Like if a sentence continues you restate that it's in the future. So it's them "Futuro yo estar lleno, no estar hambriento nole".

We also gotta think about the english and portuguese influence. I've been focusing a lot on the mandarin since it's the most different, but english and portuguese probably have more influence than mandarin. Technically the changes in conjugation should be more reminiscent of english and portugese than mandarin but. Thats less fun.

Ohh we also have to assume that, at least in the pidgin stage, it wasn't all one language. Like since the language developed in argentina/chile, northeastern areas maybe had more portuguese influence while western parts might have had more mandarin influence. Especially since the mandarin mainly came from trade w/ chile, it would make sense for coastal towns to use it more than inland ones.

Moving onto pronunciation, there aren't a TONNN of sounds that are difdocult for english or mandarin speakers to say that are also in spanish, but there are some. Namely ʒ (Like in "Asia" or "Beige"), which I hear somes out as a J or S sound often (I'm just reading this off some stuff online btw, so I'm not 100% sure if it's right). I heard V also comes out as W a lot. So words like "Ver" or "Vamos" would be "Wer" or "Wamos". L's and R's also seem underpronounced/mixed? idk. None of those sounds (Besides the L, in le, but that's from the original mandarin) are in the provided sentences. It's a good thing to remember tho

I'll have to keep working on the vocabulary and grammer, but I'm happy with how it looks rn

I feel like a lot more people should be absolutely furious that we only really have two days a week and some occasional hours in the evening to socialise, run errands, do chores, or relax.

It's no wonder so many people are profoundly lonely and disconnected from their communities when maintaining a social life in what little free time we have is incredibly difficult. If you have kids, a second job, a very long commute, or other responsibilities, it's nearly impossible.

We literally aren't meant to live like this and I'll never stop being shocked how many people just take it as the natural state of things and don't want to throw a brick through a billionaire's window every time they think of it.

okay completely gross about the idf soldiers thing, but that professor who stood with students protesting sounds awesome. i agree it often is the lecturers that make the subject tho, i think that's partly why i'm so reluctant to change what i'm doing (started with anthropology and history, now it's anthro and sociology), i really enjoy the lecturers i've had from the anthro and history departments so far. the sociology lecturer i've had...i could really live without lmao. but apparently he's not teaching the required paper anymore from next year, so who knows maybe i could actually pass it this time. how is welly to live in in general atm tho? i think that's another reason why in recent years i never took that leap, cause it's kinda just...falling apart. at least that's what my family that lives there tells me. shit public transport that barely shows up these days, things closing left and right, pipes bursting at every other corner. i do love welly tho, i've been going down there ever since i was a kid and have always wanted to spend some time living there. i'll just have to get used to the hills and wind lol

I love Wellington, Ive lived here sibce 2012, but shit is falling apart. The pipes keep bursting and the news doesnt even cover half of it. Two went out the front of our house, raised the ground from the impact and were hemorrhaging water out onto the road. It took 7 months for them to fix it. Same with most other burst pipes around the city, unless theyre super disruptive like the fucking river we had a month back on one of our main streets. Cost of living is abysmal here and rent is $400-600 a week. The mass job cuts have left the city dead and people aren't spending on lunch because the price of everythibg is himing up, which is causing a fuckton of shops to close. Mind you not all of them are because of this, despite what they say. Bourdeux was known for being exorbitant in their prices for mediocre bread and bad treatment of staff so they cant bitch and moan about cycleways all ghey want but thats not it. Same with the ttprg cafe stuck in front of the public library (which has been shut since 2018 for construction and earthquake strengthening). They say theyre failing because the road is shut, but every person I know in the community says to avoid the place because the owner looks down girls shirts and is a creep. Sucks because a lot of the other employees are lovely.

It's just not affordable right now. I would be on the street if my parents werent wonderful and helping me out, because my sickness would've made it impossible to work and pay for a place to stay here. Student housing is less rough, but still bad because youre overpaying for bad accomodations. I know my friend moved here to study from Otago said the only thing she misses is the housing/rent prices down there.

Thats not mentioning the council, who are useless. Media loves to pin the blame on Tory Whanau, and she absolutely has her issues, but she has inherited a lot of inaction from prior mayors, and of her two biggest detractors, one said homeless people should pay rent to love in cars because shes a fucking ghoul and the other, while very nice, wants local govt to run like a business. And I'm sorry, Ray, but being a nice neighbour and saying hi when I walk my dog doesn't cut it when you don't have any climate change policy in mind.
