Can I ask about your Kakuranger banner? I don't think I have read you mentioned it your favorite show (It was for me actually. I used to love Naruto at the time, and I tried to get my hand on any ninja-related Japanese media then).

It is my all-time favorite Super Sentai series.  Mostly because it was my very first Japanese origin series to see.  It was thanks to Ninja Sentai Kakuranger that I got totally hooked on tokusatsu.

I can tell you where I first saw it as well, I was at an anime convention in Dallas known as Project A-Kon in the mid-1990s and a good friend had a tape of Kakuranger.  We popped it in on a lark and while he fell asleep, I was up all night watching it (it was recorded in SLP mode so there were several hours of show on the tape). I still remember the storyline of the episodes, where the villain had created a combination monster using the powers of the heroes ad it was one of the final big plots of the series before the ending.

To this day, my favorite Super Sentai character of all time is Ninja White/Tsuruhime.  She is seriously just the best, the de facto leader of the group (even moreso than Red) and the glue that holds them all together through thick and thin.  

I also consider the early to mid-1990s from say Choujin Sentai Jetman to Denji Sentai Megaranger the Renaissance period for Super Sentai.  Don’t get me wrong, I adore the earlier shows but they began to fall into a very rote formula (mostly due to the shows all being helmed by one man) and the ratings and toy sales had tanked.  It took the radical step of letting young, fresh talent take a swing and mixing things up by adding more fantasy, magic, ninjas and outright comedy into the mix to save the franchise.  Each series became so different from the last and incredibly memorable.  To me, Ninja Sentai Kakuranger is the perfect balance of goofy comedy, exciting action, fun characters and a deep dive into Japanese legends and myths.  It’s the total package.

That is why it remains my all-time favorite Super Sentai series.

MEXC Global Research: Metaverse - Concept of A Virtual Reality

What is Metaverse? In 1992, the famous American science fiction writer Neal Stephenson wrote “Snow Crash”, and described a network world, called the Metaverse, which was parallel to the real world. All the people in the real world have a network identity (Avatar) in their meta world and can communicate with each other and control their own wealth, as illustrated in Ready Player One. Simply put, the Metaverse is a bridge between the real world and the virtual world. This is achieved usually with VR and AR technology to expand the vision, sound, and touch from the real world by integrating digital objects into the physical world. The technology also brought in the real-world experiences involving trading, production, finance, and entertainment to form a truly immersive virtual world. On a side note, “Avatar” and “Metaverse” are both derived from this book. Today, the Metaverse has become the Internet’s new form which is the next stage after realizing virtual reality. It now appears to be able to combine blockchains and NFTs to become a formidable force. Characteristics of the Metaverse Social: Metaverse can move beyond the limits of space. It can communicate and interact in a way that is as close to the real world as possible. It can share “physical” environments with people worldwide and theoretically carry roles and ecosystems several times larger than the real world. Persistence: The metaverse never pauses or stops and lasts indefinitely. In this world, people can evolve for years or decades without worrying about losing roles and achievements. With blockchains and Internet technology, the Metaverse is not restricted by hardware, and everyone can interact with it using different types of devices. Interoperability: Metaverse uses open-source code and encryption protocols to provide fully open and extended interoperability of digital items/assets and content. Economic Benefits: You can think of the roles and beings in the Metaverse as digital species, and after they have formed an organization or guild, users can create, invest, own, lend, sell, or purchase services just like in the real world. Web 3.0 Simply put, Web 1.0 is a passive information delivery network, such as browsers and portal sites, that is unidirectionally delivered to users by the network world. Web 2.0 was created between 1999 and 2004, bringing the world from simple, static desktop web pages to interactive experiences, user-generated content, and the market economy, producing online giants like Facebook and Twitter. It utilizes the users-to-users process and uses the network as a people-to-people communication channel, enabling social functions. Over time, Web 3.0 came along, intending to become an open, trustless, and permission-less network. Web 3.0 understands and satisfies user needs, understands user habits, performs resource filtering, intelligently matches, and gives user answers. Web 3.0 is a process from user to network and then back to the user. Features of Web 3.0: Open — Based on open standards, the developer community is open, accessible, and completely transparent. Trustless — Participants can interact with each other without requiring third parties for verification. Permission-less — Any user has the right to participate, even those under an authoritative governmental institution. Therefore, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other blockchain protocols have the most appropriate backgrounds for the development of Web 3.0. NFT+Metaverse The process of Web 3.0 has forced the emergence of new economic and ecosystem needs. NFT and the Metaverse is the exploration and validation of blockchains, value carriers, and interactive modes. In the metaverse, people have digital lives. They can make money, and can spend their leisure time without the restrictions of a physical world. However, if the Metaverse exists only in the Web 2.0 environment, large organizations such as Facebook and Google can control user data and profit from it. Centralized large enterprises can delete and control the users’ content. The users’ rights and freedoms will

be violated, contrary to the ideas. Therefore, ownership of digital items is significant if you want the Metaverse to continue developing, enter the mainstream, and become an indispensable part of people’s lives. With the advent of NFT (Non-Fungible Token), users can enjoy real digital ownership. NFT determines the ownership of items, and users themselves are the owners of digital items and assets, making them unique, scarce, and tradable in the real world. It can be said that NFT is indispensable to the success of the Metaverse, and NFTs can also enhance consensus with the help of the concepts of the Metaverse. Land The land is the content of almost all Metaverse-related projects at present and is also the basis of the entire Metaverse virtual land. Land is like real estate in the real world and enables income through three ways: trading, development and rental. The Sandbox currently has a sale volume of $20 million USD and has more than 50 partners, including well-known IPs such as Atari, Crypto Kitties, and Shaun the Sheep, most of which invest in the land or own their own roles in The Sandbox. In the virtual world of The Sandbox, there are three main types of tokens: LAND, SAND, ASSET, which construct the economic system of The Sandbox. Decentraland Decentraland is a distributed VR virtual space platform built on Ethereum, which resembles “The Sims” in the world of blockchains. The platform recently announced the integration of Polygon as an expansion plan. Users have their own avatars to browse, create content, buy lands, and socialize within the platform. Decentraland’s token is MANA, which can be used for purchasing assets and services and governance. Decentraland’s virtual land space is also called LAND, and the token records information such as circulation, ownership, location, and other information. LAND needs to be purchased with MANA, which is burned after each purchase. Users can use 3D modeling tools such as SketchUp to create items or contents and import them into the game to be used on the land. Axie Infinity Axie Infinity is an Ethereum-based open-world game about collecting and raising strange creatures. Axies were one of the earliest NFT pets that could be used in battle. Sky Mavis, Axie Infinity’s development team from Vietnam, completed a Series A financing round in May, with participants such as Mark Cuban, the owner of the NBA Dallas team, and Animoca, the gaming company. Other partners include Ubisoft, Binance, and Samsung. Axies, like real-world pets, can reproduce their offspring by breeding. Each Axie reproduces up to seven times, requiring a small amount of ETH and a specific amount of the currency SLP (Small Love Potion), which is a token within Axie Infinity. The new Axie will inherit the various traits of the two Axies involved in breeding. Axies can be sold in the secondary markets, with an Axie selling at the highest price of around 300 ETH, worth $130,000 USD. Axie Infinity’s Metaverse Land is called Lunacia, with a total of 90,601 lots, each of which is a rare NFT, and the price of each lot varies depending on

Future Development

Metaverse is one of the current development trends, but it still faces many challenges.

Possible problems:

Cross-platform: It is difficult to directly transmit data between different game worlds, NFT platforms, and cryptocurrency platforms.

Standards and Contents: An important feature of the Metaverse is that users create content. There are no complete standards for content auditing for the time being, and there are also problems where the content in individual virtual spaces might violate the laws in the real world.

Ecosystem: Currently, the protagonist of the Metaverse is the player, and more kinds of roles and professions are needed to achieve a sufficiently realistic world.

Practical value:

Market: The demand for Internet users, game markets and virtual goods is growing very rapidly, and the Metaverse is able to meet this part of the people’s needs perfectly.

Economy: In virtual space, there are economic models that are similar to the real world and incorporate innovative elements of Web3.0, and they can never be stopped.

Social layer: The Metaverse can provide an immersive social experience with a high degree of user engagement and a more powerful feeling than that of the real world.

Overall, the Metaverse is still in the early stages, and although virtual space is a bit rough, the entire concept still has tremendous potential.

It was roughly 2009/10 when I discovered my mother’s high school yearbook, 1976 Ladue Horton Watkins high school in St.Louis, whose mascot was the Rambler, a school I had actually visited during its 20 years reunion back when I was a kid. The photos talked about a different time, a time when my mother and aunt were young and beautiful women about to step into a precocious adulthood nobody would prepare them for. A world and a time difficult to see other than in the black & white mimeograph sepia dye its yearbook pages had turned into. I can see the yearbook club busily at work to finish the tome on time for its thousands of students, as in some  Simpsons episode I once saw. Each student’s photo had a different personalized caption: some were quotes by great thinkers and the like, some funny, some trying to be witty but resulting in awkward resolutions for the forbidden future. My mother was graduating, what would be one of her last years in the States before moving back to Italy, a move she deeply regretted. U.S.A. was then made into some sort of utopian idyllic Eden in which to take shelter when times would get hard, as they would always do, and I do the same, 30 years later, with my too short year in Japan, a time I could never repeat in youthfulness, naivety, beauty and intensity. School clubs would boast their yearly achievements, charts of the most likely to succeed, best in sports, most zealous and such were made. Sports accomplishments, trophies and victories were proudly reported. My mother used to do athletics and jump hurdles and anyway every sport and team and club had its years of work and wonders to celebrate. The yearbook was in fact a celebration most of all, of life, of a like everyone was soon to step out of to enter a great unknown, the future. This fascination of mine with this yearbook came because none of this exists in Italy, and so far I had only seen it in shows on TV. My mother’s youth was so distant to me, unable at the time to even understand she had been so young and hopeful too, or surely more than I ever was and ever would be. I, as SLP, had already tried turning my love and care for my family’s past into music, cherishing it as best and honestly as I could, with “Structures Anthropologiques de l’Imaginaire de Familie” (http://freemusicarchive.org/music/SLP/Structures_Anthropologiques_de_lImaginaire_de_Familie/). This time Mister Drey, who is now promoting its first trap single with Triple D Momo Squad and inaugurating a new chapter of his life and music expression, did most of the work, helping me sort out what I had in mind, and mostly felt, helped by dear friends and amazing musicians Susanna Laterza and Elia Dalla Casa. “Rambler 1976″ is a profoundly imperfect album, full of flaws, all of them because of me and my musical ineptitude. It’s also old, as almost 7 years have passed since its completion. But it’s also an album I’m proud of, beautiful in its own unique way, and the best I could do to tell the stories inspired by the festive, loud, clumsy, hopeful, beautiful and innocent spring of youth that yearbook captures. I will once again resort to the dedication I did for “Structures Anthropologiques de l’Imaginaire de Familie”. 

“You are all in my heart. I owe you my being. I dedicate this to:my mother, my father, Giorgio and Lalla, Santo and Anna Maria, Floriano, Simonetta, Chiara, Regina and Luca. OSSLP revive concierto de música de películas basadas en La Biblia

Para continuar con la consigna #YoMeQuedoEnCasa durante la cuarentena, la Secretaría de Cultura en coordinación con Canal 13 transmiten el concierto de la Orquesta Sinfónica de San Luis Potosí, titulado “Tocando El Cielo” este viernes 17 de abril a las 9 de la noche y domingo 19, a las 12:00 h, programa que se grabó el 15 y 17 de abril del año pasado, bajo la dirección del Mtro. Arturo Rodríguez, y que formó parte del Programa Cultural de Semana Santa presentado en el Teatro de la Paz. En estos conciertos la OSSLP recibió como batuta invitada al Mtro. Arturo Rodríguez, reuniendo algunas de las suites orquestales de las películas que han hecho época en el cine hollywoodense basadas en temas bíblicos, como Ben-Hur, Quo Vadis o Los Diez Mandamientos. Así, el concierto abrirá con la música de Miklós Ròzsa, en cuyas orquestaciones se aprecia una gran influencia de Béla Bartok y Zoltán Kodály, donde la profundidad y curiosidad se entremezclan con un estilo peculiar y fino en los temas melódicos. Miklós Ròzsa nació en Budapest, donde inició sus estudios musicales para luego partir a Alemania y continuarlos en el Conservatorio de Leipzig. Tras su paso por París y Londres, viaja a Estados Unidos para participar en la música de “El Ladrón de Bagdad”, y se queda en ese país el resto de su vida, teniendo entre sus discípulos a músicos de la talla de John Williams y Jerry Goldsmith, referentes de la música cinematográfica en la actualidad. De este compositor húngaro escucharemos las suites orquestales de “Ben-Hur”, “Quo Vadis” y “Rey de Reyes” durante las transmisiones por televisión abierta de este fin de semana. Luego vendrá la Suite Orquestal “Los Diez Mandamientos”, que realizara el compositor estadounidense Elmer Bernstein para la película estelarizada por Charlton Heston y Yul Brynner. Bernstein fue un fructífero compositor que tras interrumpir sus estudios musicales para ingresar al ejército durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, regresó para convertirse en uno de los principales creadores de bandas sonoras de producciones cinematográficas, que le valieron 10 nominaciones al Oscar, ganando por la película “Millie, una chica moderna”, protagonizada por dos estrellas de las películas musicales: Julie Andrews y Carol Channing. El regiomontano Arturo Rodríguez fue el director huésped de la OSSLP en estos conciertos realizados en el Teatro de la Paz el año pasado. Rodríguez es pianista, compositor, orquestador, director de orquesta y pianista Arturo Rodríguez es ganador de la Medalla Mozart (1996) y becario del Instituto de Cine de Sundance (2010) y el Taller de Música para Películas de ASCAP (2003) y se ha dedicado a la composición sinfónica durante los últimos dieciséis años, escribiendo obras por encargo para orquestas e instituciones de todo el mundo y dirigiendo y orquestando proyectos para cine, televisión y multimedia. Su versatilidad le ha permitido colaborar como orquestador, arreglista y director musical en proyectos sinfónicos con celebridades del mundo de la música como Stewart Copeland (The Police), José Hernández (Mariachi Sol de México/Mariachi Reyna de los Ángeles), y más recientemente con Lila Downs y la Sinfónica de San Francisco así como con el grupo La Santa Cecilia. Ha participado también en reconstrucciones de música de la Época de Oro del cine mexicano para proyectos como el concierto “CDMX Noche de Cine”, para la Filarmónica de Los Ángeles y el maestro Gustavo Dudamel; y la reconstrucción de música de compositores mexicanos como el Segundo Concierto para Piano, de Gonzalo Curiel, y suites de música de sus bandas sonoras. Como orquestador y director de orquesta, Rodríguez ha trabajado en diversos proyectos para cine, televisión y videojuegos, entre ellos las banda sonora de Assassin’s Creed IV/BlackFlag-Freedom Cry, Zipper, Twixt de Francis Ford Coppola, Furious7, Lights Out y el videojuego Fortnite. Actualmente trabaja para Cartoon Network escribiendo la música original para la serie animada “Víctor & Valentino”. Su música para cine y de concierto ha sido grabada por la Philharmonia Orchestra, la Orquesta Sinfónica de San Luis Potosí y la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Eslovaquia; es distribuida por Kronos Records y MoviesScoreMedia y está disponible en iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music y otras plataformas digitales. Espera SLP un millón de visitantes

La Secretaría de Turismo (Sectur) inició con la caravana promocional de verano del destino potosino en estados vecinos como Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Tamaulipas, Querétaro, también estará en la Ciudad de México, y algunas ciudades del sur de Estados Unidos.

Sectur anunció que las expectativas para este verano son recibir 946 mil visitantes, lo que significa un crecimiento de 4 puntos porcentuales con respecto a la misma temporada del año anterior, señaló que esta afluencia dejaría una derrama económica de 700 millones de pesos, es decir un incremento del 3.9 por ciento más que en 2017.

La Secretaría de Turismo confirmó que ya se encuentran en muy buen nivel el índice de reservaciones, lo que pronostica una buena ocupación y esto sin duda es gracias a la suma de más y mejores atractivos de naturaleza y cultura que mejoran la experiencia de viaje al que se suman eventos de calidad que enriquecen la estadía del visitante.

Es el momento clave del turismo para San Luis Potosí, con una conectividad inmejorable tanto terrestre como aérea, con presencia en 8 destinos que incluyen ciudades muy importantes del país, económicamente hablando, como Monterrey y CDMX, conexión aérea con dos destinos de playa y presencia en dos de los aeropuertos más importantes, que son puerta de entrada del turismo extranjero, como son Cancún y Tijuana, además rutas a ciudades estadounidenses tan estratégicas como Dallas, Houston y McAllen.

Entre la extensa oferta cultural resalta el recién inaugurado Museo Leonora Carrington, único en el mundo dedicado a la corriente del surrealismo, así como uno de los eventos más importantes de la temporada, como lo es la Feria Nacional Potosina, que se llevará a cabo del 3 al 26 de agosto.

La Zona Altiplano sigue destacando con sus rutas mezcaleras y gastronómica, donde las haciendas y fábricas de mezcal son un elemento de interés que lo mismo ofrece arquitectura, gastronomía, riqueza artesanal y productos propios de la región.

Destaca el Pueblo Mágico de Real de Catorce, único en el mundo al que se llega a través de un centenario túnel (Ogarrio), es la joya de la región en todos sentidos, por su histórica y mítica fama de abundancia de oro, uno de los centros sagrados de la cultura huichol, además de locación de películas internacionales, es un lugar de fama mundial en donde convive gente de todas las nacionalidades con la mejor oferta de hospedaje y gastronomía.

En la Zona Media, en el oriente del estado, se promueve la Laguna de la Media Luna, de origen prehistórico, y sus corredores hoteleros de descanso con una amplia oferta de manantiales, otra opción son las Grutas de la Catedral, que ofrece la aventura de descender a las entrañas de la tierra, con un espectáculo de luz y sonido.

La Zona Huasteca con sus múltiples parajes, ya conocidos internacionalmente, con ríos y circuitos de cascadas, y uno de los cinco abismos más impresionantes del mundo como es el Sótano de las Golondrinas, a esto hay que sumar las nuevas actividades de turismo de aventura muy interesantes como el sistema de tirolesas tradicional y una sky bike, (paseo en una bicicleta suspendida a más de 80 metros de altura) todo sobre las cascadas de Micos.

En Ciudad Valles, centro de servicios turísticos de primera calidad, la novedad son los paseos en trajineras por río, donde se puede aprender de la flora y fauna. Otro sitio para visitar y hospedarse es Selva Tének, donde conviven la naturaleza y el descanso, un santuario que inicia para la conservación de especies felinas como el jaguar, en una unidad de manejo ambiental que será un centro de investigación y educación muy interesante.
