I have a question to you.

Everyone knows Barun Sobti was offered for movie while being cast to Iss pyaar ko and he had to take a break from iss pyaar ko to finish his movie shooting.

Hadn’t he had got that movie offer and was continuing with IPK for that period. What would have been the storyline for those months for the time he was not available for IPK.

They had to deliberately get the Khushi suicide track which was very very absurd and stupid. And then the kidnap track.

It made sense until the Heer Ranjha episodes then again it went to bua ji house staying track. How would have they guided the storyline otherwise.

Was there any track which was decided and knew but later on scrapped up because of barun’s movie?

I would have definitely had interest to watch a high intensity redemption track.

Do tell me what would you do if you had chance to guide the storyline for those kidnap tracks replacement. And even if he was on break and not available any better ideas to change the storyline except the kidnap?

Now coming to your question;

I do not know. The storyline was not going anywhere with him on sets anyway.

The suicide track was the most stupid way to get the misunderstanding out. Kidnapping, IMO, was a great track for me.

I am glad you found sense :) I couldn't find any sense as they kept on building character and plot point, then chickening out from taking any point further and resetting everything so as to they can maintain the status quo of him hurt -> she hurt -> she doing something stupid -> he says something worse -> some rabba ves -> some more comedy -> intense -> back to square one of both hurt and terrible comedy.

When they had all of Barun's dates - they were doing Swami, play acting, AAJ MAUSAM HAI SUHANA, Dabba service, ANNOY HIM AT LAKSHMINAGAR...

Kidnapping track, again, was great. I would have just made it all sensible.

The audience and Khushi learns very early that Shyam is involved in Arnav's 'trip to London'

Reveal why Khushi can't go to police - perhaps the Senior Inspector is a really close friend of Shyam or owes a favor to Shyam due to some corrupted case.

Reveal why Khushi can't go to the rest of the family - she goes to Akash and Akash thinks the best person to deal with this is Shyam and thus Khushi's plan backfire.

DO NOT PUT ANY SILLY MANORAMA BOND.

Have a far more intelligent cat and mouse game between Shyam and Khushi. And have Khushi lament her decision to not tell the people the truth of Shyam.

Any shot with Barun, would have Arnav trying to work out why he is kidnapped. Who could have kidnapped him. I didn't need him supporting Khushi without evidence - he has intellect enough to deduce that the only man who would/could kidnap him is Shyam.

Have Arnav work his head through mental monologues. Like maybe there's a small television playing in the warehouse and Arnav is surprised that there's no news of him. Who could keep his disappearance up so well? Unless it's someone close to him. Who would want to keep him alive with no ransom demand. Unless, of course it's someone close to him. And who close to him has an agenda? Shyam...

And thus, with Arnav alone - instead of having him just Rabba Ve and have dream sequences I'd put another mental monologue of him trying to see Khushi's role in everything and having that moment of realization when Khushi comes through to save him. That damn it, of course he misunderstood Khushi.

And in the little phase when Khushi and he can run away, they both talk about how Shyam came into her life, how to get out of this situation, whom to contact, whom not to contact. Maybe Arnav wants to apologize, maybe Khushi stops him. Anything outside of getting out of this mess would be discussed later because they do have a later.

If Barun did not have to leave then I would have continued on the poignant moment of Khushi realizing Arnav slept holding her hand and that Khushi could not have enough - the push and pull between extreme love and hatred could have worn down her mind and she could have tried to finally beg and yell to know the reason of the marriage.

That's all of my thought regarding this :)

hi mrs haitch, found your nanami donesticity series recently & spiraled down the rabbit hole of your fics. i do not regret it all; your writing is lovely. thanks for sharing them.

i wanted to ask your input (if you have any) on overcoming the feeling of not being capable enough to shoulder the responsibilities & burdens of adulthood. i grew up being left to fend for myself as a child, which kickstarted a cycle of being perceived as independent so much so that when i struggled, no one really believed me and labeled it as attention seeking behavior so i just figure things out alone. now that i’m a fully fledged adult in my 20s, i find myself being scared of not knowing things everyone should already know by now like which credit card to open, what to consider in making financial decisions, etc. & mostly i just feel small & alone to not have anyone around i can go to, things it seems like people know because someone taught them.

i hope this ask isn’t too heavy & feel free to negate it if it is. i just wanted to say before i go how much i love the community you’ve built. it makes me feel warm to read the interactions on here whether it’s you with mr haitch or your readers. reading the comments on your works always make me laugh one way or another. thank you for this space. i hope you and your family are always well. x

Firstly, I'm sorry for your rough childhood. Secondly, I know the feeling very well.

But thirdly, and most importantly, in a positive instead of dismissive way, you are capable enough. You've already proven this, by coming to me with this Ask. You have thought critically about the current limitations of your abilities, identified the gaps in your knowledge, and then sought help/research. This level of critical thinking alone, marks you as capable.

Identifying yourself as 'not capable', small and alone, is important; but it's more important what you decide to do, from here. Do you remain under that umbrella, and minimise your attempts to try to learn and do new, unknown things, for fear of failure? Or do you use that critical thinking brain that you've proven to me you have, to risk 'failure' and move forwards?

Adults are never 'fully-fledged'. We are constantly growing and learning. We live in a beautiful age of knowledge, the acquisition of which is exceptionally easier than it was years ago. There are information sources out there. There absolutely are. Financial advisors post in forums and blogs. People who are years on from where you are now, offer their history as an opportunity to learn from their mistakes. I absolutely believe you can find much of the information you're looking for.

Plus, another thing you need to accept, as one who has gone through this herself, is that trying to do this without someone holding your hand is like not having a safety net. You are reliant on you. Now, I've long since given up being reliant on myself making me feel scared. Now that I've gone through what you have, made mistakes, and grown, knowing it's all down to me makes me feel powerful. Once you research, try your best, and find you're more capable than you believed, it's like a fucking superpower.

I actually tend to find that individuals who have needed to teach themselves these things, once they get through the wringer, are more tough and resourceful than their counterparts whose families have held their hand through every difficulty.

This isn't me advocating for suffering for the sake of "toughening up" ("it never did me any harm" etc etc and all that shit). Not at all. It would be a wonderful world if we all had the support we needed to feel safe early on. I don't believe that 'character building' provides justification for suffering, and anyone who believes that is a cunt, frankly.

But, in the light of the world as it is...some of us, like me and you, do not have the support, and we may suffer. It's what we choose to do with this, that makes us who we are. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, we are like teabags; we only know how strong we are, when we're placed in hot water.

What I say to my women, when they tell me they can't do it (usually while pushing a baby out), is this:

Don't get sad. Get strong.

You have a choice now, and it will define you-- you can remain under your belief that you are not capable (when I know you are), and sink. Or you can research, bother people, use your brain to learn, and make hard choices, and swim.

You have come to a brutal believer in being the best you can be. I aggressively want you to fulfil the finest parts of your personality. And I don't think you should do it without support.

I hope desperately that you find your people. If you can be brave and go forth with the knowledge that you will grow and fail at the same time, in a few years, you may well be as fucking annoying as me.

Hey there. I propose that instead of the Addams family-style crypts and coffins we use the lovely little sandbox that our section of the Gow fandom is to seclude ourselves from the toxicity of other fandoms and the general participants of the Gow fandom (be it dudebros or "progressives"). For my part, this is the sandbox I intend on staying in even if my emotional investment in the series has been snuffed out lately by the lack of any news. On the contrary, some other media managed to pleasantly surprise in ways I never expected and disappoint in ways I expected completely.

Still, fandom wise, I am doing my best to stay away from any and all situations that would confront me with the inevitable proof of my failures in every department of life, art and achievement of any kind. Having fun as much as I can but pulling out when/if need be because I know my limits and, sadly, my "best" is normal people's worst so it's better to stay in my lane.

(On a positive note though, the recent troll fest on my blog on one of my posts from an anti-Ariel Ursula apologist crowd member resulted in my Ariel/Eric gifsets and posts receiving more notes; trolls have exceptional promotional skills, if only they could put them to good use).

The media is going in the precise direction I predicted it would go, for better or worse.

The Snow White remake turned out to be the flop I said it would be and it is both a good and bad thing. It is good because the greedy, money grubbing, arrogant and creatively lazy Disney executives are faced with the - well deserved - consequences of their modern mainstream culture pandering. All while they play it safe and, contrary to their claims, present the opposite of "feminist" storytelling.

The remake in question barely passes the Bechdel test because Snow's entire "feminist" arc revolves not around utilizing her skills and gaining control of the household after escaping an abusive and oppressive situation like in the original. It revolves around her father and her aspiring to follow in his footsteps and be his extension. All of new Snow's interactions with other characters, be it with another woman, the Queen (the only one she has a strong relationship with - and it's a wholly antagonistic relationship), or her love interest Jonathan or the secondary characters revolve around her dead father and invariably mention him and Snow's unwavering determination to carry on his legacy (not to build up and leave behind her own).

On one hand, this male focused misrepresentation of the classic princesses returning disastrous box office results (markedly contrasting with the commercial and fandom success of the TLM Live Action that honored the essence of the original animated film's story, female lead's defiance of her father's patriarchal and bigoted antics and, no less important, the main romance) works in favor of smacking Disney with the proof that the audience is not buying into their "progressive misogyny" disguised as feminism. This, in theory, should mean that Disney will be forced to reconsider their approach and try harder. That they will have no way but to go back to presenting legitimately empowering storytelling, honoring women and girls' self expression and - wishful thinking - gracing the audience with characters like Freya, Angrboda or Sif. Who rise above the girlboss stereotype and are far more in line with the Classic and Renaissance Princess type than the modern day Disney heroines.

However, fact is that Disney is unlikely to learn and is more likely to double down - because they can financially afford it. They are a monopolist and they know it. Unless the audience doesn't merely vote with their wallet but actively switches to other content, starts helping and supporting less known female authors of romance and explores older animated and live action features from across the world which has always been superior to anything ever produced by Disney but never had it's power and PR opportunities - unless that happens it is unlikely any positive changes to modern media will be made. But that's still not an excuse to not do one's part; which is what I'm trying my best to do.

The downside of the Snow White LA flop is that the cowardly Disney executives, most of whom are men, deliberately set up Rachel, the title actress, to bear the burnt of the potential (and now obvious) failure. This is a microcosm of misogyny through and through. First, the powerful Disney execs had Rachel be the mouthpiece for their mischaracterization of the classic princesses and OG Snow in particular (one has to be naive to believe Rachel was expressing those views on her own initiative and not because every single interview of hers was scripted by the Disney promotional team).

And then Disney refused to own up to the fact that their new strategy of warping and twisting what the original movies and heroines were about is not working. They blamed Rachel for being "too noisy"/"talking too much" and making it "harder" for those powerful men to gain more money by disrespecting the audience's intelligence (read: women's intelligence) and telling "dumb teenage girls" what is good and "empowering" for them (daddy issues, suppression of their romantic agency, mansplaining Snowmen and criminal men who lecture them on "princess problems").

Not even delving into how heinously ableist the "new, progressive and improved" Disney is with it's promotion of the "overachiever woman who needs no help just like she needs no man" stereotype. And how the reason myself and other women with disabilities and neurodivergence still love the classic films because they didn't belittle its heroines for not doing all the labor themselves (but, see, men and patriarchy were not happy about that - they WANT women to do all the labor in all the areas of life so they could get away with showing us no respect and support; modern "feminist" Disney wholeheartedly agrees with them).

This issue is another glaring evidence of how progressives and dudebros are one and the same and bond over their hatred of women. With the remake's flop and Disney shielding the blame onto Rachel they laid a convenient groundwork for the far right conservatives to complain about diversity, DEI and "wokeness" while ignoring the Elephant in the room: that the Princess franchise went down the girlboss drain with Frozen. An all white movie that amounted to a two hours long shame fest telling its female protagonist she "didn't know what love is".

Then there was the official funeral of the franchise in the form of the Tangled Series. Where the main protagonists were still white even if Disney did add some cultural diversity for the secondary characters - who were then reduced to plot devices for the new!improved! "feminist" Rapunzel. As well as for the equally "improved and feminist" useless comedic relief that the show!Flynn was written to be (because, get this, men are just not made for doing any kind of emotional or physical work and therefore it should all be done by women; that's modern feminism for you!). This time around, Rapunzel had to accept that abusive women in her life - namely Cassandra - actually do "know best" compared to her sheltered, shallow self. Thus, Rapunzel herself had to prove her worth through girlbossiness by nullifying Flynn's sacrifice from the original film (and the positive equal partnership and mutual care for each other said sacrifice was based on), growing out her magic hair and cutting it on her own, just like the armchair "feminist critics" demanded.

That is how we got where we are today with media culture. To deny that is to push an agenda (whether far right or far left) rather than to use basic critical thinking skills. Neither Disney nor the fandom is willing to acknowledge any of that hence why we're stuck with the same anti-woke racist and misogynistic bigots on one side and pseudo-"feminists" on the other. But some people start coming around and fingers crossed it continues to be this way.

i really really like this way of looking at it, and its pretty much my idea of what this blog is for. i mean yeah im gonna make stupid jokes and be a dickhead because not everything is life or death serious, and im not gonna sugarcoat when i dont like someone. but there is something to be said for the criticisms that come in when people dont have to put up a farce and be super duper overly nice in fear of getting some kind of retaliation. i think all criticism can be an excuse to improve even if its not worded the most nice and polite.

[I won’t lie I don’t watch many films or shows, even the most popular ones, so unless they’re on this list there’s a good 99% chance I’ve never watched it.😭]

Hiii I relate to your blog a lil, currently I have a nephew I've been mostly keeping care of (his parents aren't present enough) he's 60lb now so it's been so hard carrying him, what helped me though is lifting weights and even practicing carrying him n stuff. Honestly I just force myself to eat something small (a small salad or a protein bar/shake) when I start to feel that way. It sucks to eat when you don’t want to but it’s more important we don’t traumatize our kids from our issues. I also make sure to stay hydrated and take supps/vitamins.

If I feel like it’s too risky to pick him up atm, I tell him “mommy is feeling really sick” and he doesn’t really second guess it since I went through a health crisis recently where I was in and out of the hospital for months.

It’s always a fear that one day I may faint while out on a walk with him or something but I’ve taught him what to do in that situation, just in case. And I tell him it has to do with my health issues I went through recently. I just keep my fingers crossed that it will never happen, and take all preventatives I can without ruining my progress.
