Sept 29 - So. MUCH. Scanning. Lots of photos of early years of sister & BILs life together.

Made beef stewed with leeks, carrots, and potatoes as a way of using up some of the leeks leftover after making the tomato sauce.

Sept 30 - Finished scanning another storage box of photos. Nephew did pasta with some of the tomato sauce we made.

Oct 1 - Rescanned the 1905 cycling trip album at a better resolution. Started working my way through a shoebox of mostly photos with some misc stuff. Best finds: stack of Canadian Navy ship identification flash cards from probably WW2. Envelope with a stack of 99 small photos documenting a 1950s trip to BC when my BIL was a chubby cheeked tiny toddler, including photos of the prop plane and very nice train they travelled on at different parts of the trip.

Nephew did supper, it had spice rubbed roast turkey breast served over couscous mixed with roasted veggies, with a lemony yogurt and parsley sauce to top it with.

Oct 2 - Finished going through shoebox. Best find today was a photo of my BIL with 70s hair and sideburns. Also spent some time on rearranging and putting away some of the stuff spread out all over still from the nephew and I sorting through the boxes last month.

I made supper; there was ground lamb in the freezer the nephew asked me to find a use for so I mixed it with minced garlic, minced fresh rosemary, salt, pepper, and a little lemon juice, and formed it into patties to pan fry (I originally thought meatballs but patties were less work to make). Cooked some calrose rice in chicken stock with halved mini tomatoes and dried oregano. Braised sliced leeks in butter and more stock with minced garlic and finished if off with some cream.

That's three meals that have used leeks and there is still one last leek remaining to use up.

What is your least favourite colour?

Neon yellow, it hurts my eyes. Really, a lot of neon colours, but only if it's really large; it's just an eye strain.

Were there any book series you really liked as a child?

PERCY JACKSON! Was and still am obsessed with them. That though is more so the tween years than proper child.

But when I was a kid? I forget the exact title of the books but it was something like, Did You Know? and I had like every single one; one on plants, one on the ocean, history [I knew about the Rose War when I was like 6]. There was another series, which I also forget the name of, but it was a picture/chapter book on historical figures; my favourite ones were Marie Currie, Amelia Earheart, Harriet Tubman, and Hans Christian Anderson [also read around the same time as the other books]. I think they were all made in the '90s though, idk, they've been lost to time.

For no reason? Neige; I don't trust him. For reasons? Rollo; he's based on a character whom I hate and I have a history with. Also, his haircut is worse than Rook's.

All potato is good potato, it really depends on my mood...
