Hello! This is likely a bit random, but, when I went to Trey’s profile on both wiki’s a while back, I was caught off guard by the “mustard yellow” label for his eye color. Was his eye color officially described as such anywhere? I always thought that they were amber. Thank you!
Hello hello! Thank you for this question! ♣️
Trey's eye color is listed as "mustard" in the official Magical Archives Game Guide, vol.1 (2020)! ^^
Trey's connection to food is maybe part of what led to his eyes being described as "mustard" instead of "amber" in official materials, not only because Trey was raised in a bakery but because Trey himself is often comparing things to food and cooking implements!
So "mustard" might very well be how Trey would describe his own eye color, if asked ^^
(Above: Trey compares Eliza's veil to "a freshly-bleached dishtowel" and her eyes to "grapes," the sight of Floyd and Jack fighting to a "giant blender," Kalim's home to turnips and unripe tomatoes, and Ortho's outfit to jelly.)
And Yana has commented before on how her methods behind deciding character eye color descriptions:

"When designing a character's coloring, I decide based on their background and overall balance. However, when putting things into words for design materials/documents, especially for eye color, I often incorporate the character's inner nature and special abilities. For Sebastian's eyes, rather than saying 'reddish-brown,' I might say 'tea-colored.' I do the same for the Twisted Wonderland characters.
For an ambitious character I might say 'sky,' and for a character with an aloof attitude, 'smoky.' I enjoy contemplating on not just the hue but also whether colors are harsh, sweet, natural, artificial, etc. Many colors are named after places or painters, like 'Turkish__' or 'Raphael __ .' For Twisted Wonderland (another world), I spent a lot of time poring over color dictionaries." - Toboso Yana (2023/2/24)
Here is a list of eye color descriptions from the Magical Archives Game Guide!

Doai but all the humans have isat craft types
I'll make sure to do Alex and Mortimer later
Rambling time undercut
If you don't know the isat (aka in stars and time) craft type system basically it's the magic/battle system in the game where every character has a craft type, Rock, Paper and Scissors. I'm not sure if they are exactly born with them or it comes with time but it's an omnipotent thing that everyone can weild and learn, sometimes you can learn more than one craft, other crafts are also a thing apart from rock paper scissors one i can name is Body craft which can modify your body to your liking, the other two crafts are very spoiler territory for the games story.
All forms of craft are available to humans although I'm not sure if i want the Veldiguns to have them, either the crafts deal damage to them or are completely immune to them, I don't want them to be completely immune to the Craft attacks so I'll go with them only taking 6 damage per hit, unless it's a combo which is 16 dmg(which doesn't do alot to their health bar).
I see the veldiguns however having color, the game in general is set in a greyscale world plus it's in lore that color did used to exist(i think), thus making the veldigun more like anomolies by having a shade different from grey lmao. Although color seem to be an important but minor aspect in doai if Vol.1 is anything to go by in my head.
Not entirely sure where I'd be going with this without majorly spoiling the game, I just thought the whole Craft types thing is neat.

I really love your art and your artstyle!!! I'm trying to learn to draw and I'm struggling to find a way to draw faces and especially eyes that I like, could you maybe share some tips on how you draw faces because omg I am so in awe of how cool your art looks! :D
FKEKVKKEKD OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH 🥺🥺 I'M SO HONORED
Honestly, the best advice I can give is to study tf out of art styles you like, bc that's exactly what I did with TGS. The amount of pages I just stared at and tried to lowkey memorize is ungodly, and once I started drawing the characters and trying to emulate sage's style, I kinda just kept getting better from there. My ability to draw poses and full body stuff also got exponentially better VERY quickly, TGS is just magic like that, I swear.
Also, for eyes specifically, referencing each characters eyes and testing different expressions is kinda the way to go. I use my physical copy of Vol 1 a LOT for referencing (especially for Hyde and Lanyon)
(A LOT more under the cut lmao)
Also, just drawing headshots of the characters over and over helps too, especially in pen! I have literal DOZENS of random 5- 10 minute pen doodles. The nice thing about the pen stuff is that, yeah, youll mess up a lot and not be super satisfied with most of them, but it forces you to be a bit more careful about how you place things and steadier with you hand, at least in my experience.
(The sillies)

See? Most of them really suck, but they made me pay a lot more attention to what I was doing and what I wanted to do. It also helped me grasp quirks of the characters and drawing expressions a lot better. Plus, this isn't even all of them, I've got a bunch more in a little envelope I made.
Also, looking on Pinterest for pose references probably would also help, or taking pics of yourself for reference, but I'm built different (stubborn and lazy) so I rawdog my anatomy and poses 🗣️🗣️
Otherwise, I can also give a little doodle example with Whole Jekyll on how I currently draw in pencil and such :3
Start with circle, then give it a nice center line and chin
Then I throw in the neck and shoulders (which tend to change a decent bit bc anatomy is hard), the eye line, which goes through the middle of the circle, and then I like to do a line down the chest to figure out which way I want him pointing, since he's at a tilt. I also change this quite often, along with where I want the face pointing lmao. Once I've figured out direction, I draw the nose starting at the bottom of the circle and up to the eye line. I also then draw the top of the eyes first. The eye line (and apparently the center line 💀) is of course a suggestion, and I tend to mess around with the eye shape until it looks mostly right.
Then the bottoms of the eyes and the pupils get thrown in, which I have to redraw pretty often to try and make them match better. I also usually leave the eyes blank bc I'm lazy af and can't draw pupils too well, I will shade them tho and that makes them look better.
Then bbg gets ears (which I usually start around the corners of the eyes and go down to just above the little curve of the jaw), eyebrows (also just mess around with these til they look right) and a mouth (I HATE drawing mouths 😋😋), then they get their hair (also have to redraw a bunch)
Also, to show Whole Jekylls other eye, I pinned his hair back, so there's a treat, Whole Jekyll enjoyers <3 bbg can fully see 😍 (Mind Lanyon probably forced him too)
Then I shade his eyes, give him clothes and fix up any quick things that were bothering me (in this his nose) and go back with the edge of a rectangle eraser and get those guidelines and extra lines out (sometimes they're still a little visible, but maybe just don't draw them as heavy handed as I do 💀) and Bada Bing Bada boom! Doodle done :3 of course its not the best, but it doesn't have to be, thats the joy of doodles
Heres another good pic to kinda show how I use my guidelines (and how messy my doodles usually are, it's part of my charm guys, I swear--)

Otherwise like, my progress shots for drawings look goofy af lmao, like--

Messy af, incorrect proportions, wrong anatomy, eugh. just takes time (and a lot of redrawing) to get to the final pieces.
But yeah!!! Eyes are annoying, it just takes a lot of tweaking and repetition.

Like, I redrew some of these eyes a decent few times and some of them are still off, like cmon Lanyon, why you gotta be so hard for me to draw 💔
Anyways!!! Thats probably the best I can offer right this second lmao, sometimes I kinda wish I could record drawing and stuff but I don't do stuff purely digital often enough to. I do have a full speed paint for that drawing of Jekyll in Hydes mind clothes tho, so idk maybe I'll share that if anyone wants me to lmao.
But yeah! Thank you so much for the ask and the kind words, I hope this helps! or is at least entertaining lmao

Friday Update 1/3/25
Every year I look back on my wordcount and project totals to wrap my brain around what exactly I’ve accomplished. There are two lists here, a list of things I published and a list of things I’ve written. There is always a little bit of crossover with these lists. I often write things on a short deadline, so the project timeline is within a month or two. Links to buy provided where relevant! Some interesting stats below.
Things Written: (20) roughly but not perfectly in the order I wrote them Blind Date With A HellHound - Hellhound Corps That’s Princess Hellhound To You - Hellhound Corps Eye Of The Beholder - Maj and the Outlaws Fated To The Wolf - Ether City Rescued By The Dragon Assassin - Powyrworld Vampire Mated - Hellebore Court The Sandcastle Charade - Mischief Mystery This Legacy We Raze - Queenships Not All Treasure Is Silver And Gold - An Act of Piracy Lightning Strikes Twice - standalone Spirits At Liberty - The Bone Witch Continue As You Weren’t - HORNETs Weaving The Lovelace Gate - standalone The Werewolf Curse - The Bone Witch Vampire Submitted - Hellebore Court The Power of a Name - standalone Vampire Exposed - Hellebore Court The White Crane Retreats - HORNETs adjacent Mura’s First Vacation - HORNETs A Message From The Gods - HORNETs
Things Published: (21) Blind Date With A Hellhound - Valentine’s A Gathering of Stories That’s Princess Hellhound To You - Street Magic vol 2 Fated To The Wolf - Amaryllis Anthology, out of print Rescued by the Dragon Assassin - Indie Vampire Mated - Amaryllis Anthology Spirits At Liberty - Uncollected/Indie Continue As You Weren’t - BSQ The Werewolf Curse - Halloween A Gathering of Stories Vampire Submitted - Amaryllis Anthology Mura’s First Vacation - BSQ A Message From The Gods - BSQ The Right Genes For Robbery - Indie Afterglow - Indie Occult Awakening - Indie Mansion Getaway - Indie Between The Shade - Indie True Night - Indie A Gift From The Muse - Indie A Brand New Day - Indie To Heaven And Back Again - Indie Carrot Cake - Indie
There is an 11 thing overlap between the two lists, meaning I wrote a thing and it was published the same year.
100% of things written in 2024 were for a call for submissions or contract, meaning 100% of things had an external deadline I did not control. It’s one of my goals this year to reduce that percentage.
84% of things written for external editors were accepted for publication (!!), leaving me only 3 things unclaimed. 1 is pending. (This is a shockingly high acceptance rate. Just an incredible number. Mindblowing.)
Wordcount Total: 212,500 words, more than 47k better than my previous best (168k in 2014), and the first time I've ever broken through 200k.

Chloe's Diary Vol.1
(11 Years Old)
" People I admire! "
Haven't you trembled with excitement imagining simply being in the presence of someone you admire so much?
A person so great, who radiates incredible strength, that just being in their presence feels like the greatest achievement of your life?
That's how I feel when I'm with my friends Gawain and Florence!
My first encounter with Gawain, happened the night I arrived in Dalmore, how I got here that night is still very fuzzy in my mind, and I still can't remember what exactly happened or how I ended up here, but I can remember clearly that Gawain offered me his help without a second thought, not only that, when I was afraid of the future and couldn't stop crying he gave me a dandelion and told me that everything would be alright, and I believed him and felt strong enough to go on! Isn't that great? Some people say "everything will be fine" just to make themselves look good, without really believing it, but the way Gawain said things as a child made you feel like he would make sure they would certainly come true.
Whenever Gawain set his mind to something he got it done, no matter how high the goal was, he always reached it, Gawain was like a star that wanted to reach the top of the sky and wanted to light up the whole world as if he was the sun itself.
And Florence was just as radiant, she is 4 years older than me, but whenever I was with her it felt like she was way older and wiser, the way she knew so much about magic, and acted so responsible and "grown up"... just thinking about it made me want to roll over in my bed with excitement and admiration.
If I had to describe the two of them in one word I think it would be "confidence", referring to the self-assurance and certainty that they gave to everyone they came across, just by being around them you knew you could achieve anything you set your mind to.
With that in mind, sometimes it was so surprising to me when they, being such admirable people, spoke to me so normally as a friend. It's true that Florence was someone who socialised easily, so being part of her social circle wasn't so strange, but Gawain didn't have that kind of justification, he was a very radiant and kind boy, but he only had his head for what interested him, if someone didn't catch his attention he didn't interact with them. Which caused me a lot of fear
"Someday you'll get bored of me too?" I wondered.
That's why I decided to do my utmost to become a person who was on the same level as them. Of course I knew that Gawain and Florence were not the kind of people who dumped their friends for no good reason, but I didn't want to live a life where I was always trailing after them.
So I gave my all to be a much cooler person!
"I want to be a dependable person too, I want to be able to help my friends and always be there for them".
were my thoughts.
One day after getting so frustrated after failing to make a spell work that I had been studying all week I went to my hidden spot, under the big tree on the meadow that is located a bit outside the castle town of Dalmore, this is where I always went to when I wanted to unwind, just the smell of the flowers and how nice it felt to sit in the shade of the huge tree could put the most grumpy person in the skies to sleep.
But... I guess I didn't quite understand what "cool" was. I tried to imitate Florence's charisma but all I got was people looking at me funny... I started to study magic and everything was fine at first but I was always pushing myself beyond my limitations and my spells ended up badly which made those around me more worried, plus as I tried to be more 'independent' I pushed my friends away and I felt less motivated... It was very frustrating!
I've called it a hidden spot but it's not really hidden, it's just off a road that simply isn't very frequented, if you were to ask anyone in Dalmore if they knew where the road next to the meadow was they would say:
"Oh yes, I've traveled through that road once".
Still, I've never seen anyone sunbathing under this specific tree... Well, better for me, the quietness of this place is what I love the most!
Getting back to the topic, that day I was tired and I was laying under the tree, it was a bit late, but not at dusk yet (my mum really disliked it when I went out late without telling her...) after having sighed for the sixteenth time, I heard the voice I was missing and craving the most.
"Are you tired of playing tragedy actress yet?" he said mockingly.
I quickly stood up, I don't know why at that moment I felt so relieved to see him there, even with the taunting words he had said, after that dreadful experience of a long day (and month in general) seeing someone I cherished immediately brought back the happiness back into my body.
I admit it was hard for me not to burst into tears right there haha ... , I wanted to tell him that I was sorry for acting so weird and that I was just trying to do my best for everybody, but I was very tired and the words were not coming to me, so instead of just sitting there dumbfounded with the remaining energy I had I got up and without thinking I rushed to him and hugged him, strangely that made me feel so much better, that was also the first hug I gave him too! I don't know why I hadn't done that before, Gawain was a warm kid in personality but also physically, and hugging him there felt like when you lay in your bed hugging a soft pillow while covered in the biggest blankets, before he could protest I slowly pulled away.
"Haha, what are you doing here Gawain? I thought you'd gone off on your own to train?"
"I was just passing by as I heard the loudest whining person on this island. So I came to verify if you'd finally gotten over whatever came over you, you were... acting really strangely lately."
I could sense a slight sadness and concern in his voice, was he that bothered by my attempt at being a cool and responsible person!?
"Haha...I guess I did" I said, a bit embarrassed.
…silence…
(Well since we're already here, why don't I embarrass myself a bit more?)
"Gawain, if I pretended to be someone else, would you still be my friend?"
"Lets... continue going to see the fish in the river, lets continue going to the mountain to catch butterflies and let's continue going to the forest to see the birds that make funny noise. I got SUPER bored these days all by myself, so we'd better go and play tomorrow, you hear me?"
"Of course I wouldn't, If that were the case you wouldn't be you anymore, you'd be just as boring as the other kids that just act all the same, so cut the crap, don't get any weird ideas and continue being you"
Gawain to a break then, making the face he usually made when he was deep in thought and trying to find the words for what he wanted to say.
Once again, Gawain, the sunny boy, lit my way. After hearing those simple words I completely forgot about any doubts I had about our friendship and all I could think about was all the adventures we could have and the corners of Dalmore we could explore.
I hope this sun by my side will never stop shining on me....

A Survival of the Ancient Celtic Worship of Grannus in Auvergne: A Frazerian Conjecture
“In Auvergne fires are everywhere kindled on the evening of the first Sunday in Lent. Every village, every hamlet, even every ward, every isolated farm has its bonfire or figo, as it is called, which blazes up as the shades of night are falling. The fires may be seen flaring on the heights and in the plains; the people dance and sing round about them and leap through the flames.

"Then they proceed to the ceremony of the Grannas-mias. A granno-mio is a torch of straw fastened to the top of a pole. When the pyre is half consumed, the bystanders kindle the torches at the expiring flames and carry them into the neighbouring orchards, fields, and gardens, wherever there are fruit-trees. As they march they sing at the top of their voices,
“‘Granno, mo mio,
Granno, mon pouère
Granno, mo mouère!’
“that is, ‘Grannus my friend, Grannus my father, Grannus my mother.’ Then they pass the burning torches under the branches of every tree, singing,
“‘Brando, brandounci
Tsaque brantso, in plan panei!’
“that is, ‘Firebrand burn; every branch a basketful!’ In some villages the people also run across the sown fields and shake the ashes of the torches on the ground; also they put some of the ashes in the fowls' nests, in order that the hens may lay plenty of eggs throughout the year. When all these ceremonies have been performed, everybody goes home and feasts; the special dishes of the evening are fritters and pancakes. Here the application of the fire to the fruit-trees, to the sown fields, and to the nests of the poultry is clearly a charm intended to ensure fertility; and the Granno to whom the invocations are addressed, and who gives his name to the torches, may possibly be, as Dr. Pommerol suggests, [1] no other than the ancient Celtic god Grannus, whom the Romans identified with Apollo, and whose worship is attested by inscriptions found not only in France but in Scotland and on the Danube. If the name Grannus is derived, as the learned tell us, from a root meaning ‘to glow, burn, shine,’ the deity who bore the name and was identified with Apollo may well have been a sun-god; and in that case the prayers addressed to him by the peasants of the Auvergne, while they wave the blazing, crackling torches about the fruit-trees, would be eminently appropriate. For who could ripen the fruit so well as the sun-god? and what better process could be devised to draw the blossoms from the bare boughs than the application to them of that genial warmth which is ultimately derived from the solar beams?

"Thus the fire-festival of the first Sunday in Lent, as it is observed in Auvergne, may be interpreted very naturally and simply as a religious or rather perhaps magical ceremony designed to procure a due supply of the sun's heat for plants and animals. At the same time we should remember that the employment of fire in this and kindred ceremonies may have been designed originally, not so much to stimulate growth and reproduction, as to burn and destroy all agencies, whether in the shape of vermin, witches, or what not, which threatened or were supposed to threaten the growth of the crops and the multiplication of animals. It is often difficult to decide between these two different interpretations of the use of fire in agricultural rites. In any case the fire-festival of Auvergne on the first Sunday in Lent may date from Druidical times.”

Do u bleach ur own hair? Any advice or tips?
i do ! my best advice is sectioning is everything & do your best to take the smallest slices as possible.
i normally do 4 quadrants, starting at the back & slicing thin sections as i make my way upwards. if your roots are longer than a couple of inches (or you’re going blonde for the first time), i recommend starting with the mids + ends first & then hitting your roots for the last 15 mins of processing. my natural hair is like a cool toned medium blonde (level 7), but even if you’re darker than that, your scalps heat will help with the lift. also, you don’t necessarily need foils for än all over bleach and be sure not to smash the hair on top of each other because that’ll cause it to not lift properly. i always see people twist or smash the hair together & that’s no good !!
products i use:
wella blondor lightener (srsly the best)
20 vol developer (wella)
*sometimes i use igora royal high lifts, but i don’t suggest this unless you’re alr naturally v light otherwise it’ll give u like warm roots >.<; but like if you alr did a round of lightener & reached ä level 7 & don’t wanna lift with bleach again, this is an option & will lift & tone at the same time ! (you use these with a 30-40vol, i use 30)*
if i’m only using lightener, then i just tone using a 6vol or 10vol. but i only do this once i’m super pale yellow. like pastel yellow.
for toning to get a pearly blonde (not silver or ice), i use either:
igora royals 9.5-1 mixed with a dab of their pastel nude (i think it’s 9.5-49?), ä little 0-0 diluter + the 10vol änd i apply onto damp hair for like 20 mins but i keep an eye on it. it’s gonna look dark and purplish but this will go away once you dry it.
orrrr you can use redken shades eq:
i use the 10VG + 10P equal parts + the redken shades processing solution. i check this as it processes, but usually it stays on 30 mins for my hair. if it’s your first time, i recommend shades eq cos they’re easier to work with (and fade faster overtime if you dislike the tone of blonde n wanna switch things up)
*if you have more yellow/orange in your blonde & want to cancel it, use toners with blue & violet in your formula, so if you really need to remove stubborn warm tones, i suggest like shades eq in ä “neutral or N” & add some violet or “V”. neutrals usually contain both blue & violet bases in the formula, they also pair beautifully with the “pearl or P”*
for aftercare, k18 mask is your best friend & i also like the elizavecca hair mask which is also v affordable! just dont overdo protein treatments esp shit like olaplex cos it’ll break ur hair off over time. oh and keracolors makes a platinum toning mask which i loveee. whatever the put in their formulas is like magic silk for ur hair !
i hope this helps & good luck !! 🤍🪽

𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐈𝐈. I don't have tendencies to look into the fictional books of Genshin (but I probably should) save for a few of them that caught my eye. So looking into my X feed I found a book cover that was re-drawn on the likeliness of Dain and Lumine instead of the mains characters of said book, which made me want to look into said book and see why. And oh, boy. Did I find some interesting things.
People call war hell, but most are just describing it as such. But what appeared before their eyes could only truly be called "hell." The desolate earth, the withered trees, and people like the shambling dead. It was like the life had been wrung from this place. The thing that had sustained the bloodshed for so long was something known as Nakura's Hex. Nakura's Hex was a terrifying sorcery that sucked the life of all living things and the land itself dry, giving it unto powerful samurai and feeding the war effort. And those who used such depraved magics to dominate the land were scoundrels known as the Nakura Daimyo. The Daimyo vied for dominance, but no matter who won, the earth would be further robbed of life. This was the true face of the war that had raged for nearly a century now. "And the ones who created the Hex are the Onmyouji who dwell in the Sky Tower at the center of the world." —Princess Mina of the Fallen Nation: Vol. 3.
In moments like this I remember Nahida's words saying that among the ways to conceal knowledge without being spotted, one of them is through allegories which books can count as and this here is no exception. Starting from Nakura's Hex as Forbidden Knowledge / Abyss, it falls right on point with the concept that Forbidden Knowledge precipitates everything to death as mentioned in the Aranara quest line and a good candidate as to who could the Nakura Daimyo be in view that used these magics that stem from the Hex to dominate the land (not exactly 1:1 with what's happening, but it kind of is if put from a different perspective) could be the Abyss Order.
If we think of the Onmyouji as the Second Who Came that brought by delusions and Forbidden Knowledge to this world (which potentially would bleed into Phanes too and other remaining Shades perhaps, as Phanes was spent from the second war against the dragon sovereigns + the mess involving the Forbidden Knowledge) and the Sky Tower as Celestia (location), even something like this falls right in place with the concept of demonic skies and the fishiness behind Celestia's doings alongside demonic names for gods and, more in a personal headcanon territory of mine, that the celestial power and the Abyss stem from the same origin despite the differing paths each take (as commented by René that his and Jakob's composition is similar to that of Khvarena).
