Development on Shovel of Hope DX is in full swing over at Yacht Club Games, and Mole Knight is in on it! When the burly burrower receives his invitation, however, he mistakes it for an adventure of his own…

After witnessing the grandeur that is (Or, will be) a playable Mole Knight in Shovel of Hope, Mod Mona and I have been joking about Mole of Moling being real at last, which subsequently coerced me to write and voice this scenario just in time for Shovel Knight's 10th! I highly recommend opening the script for this audio in another tab if you'd like to follow along.

This is our longest voicework project yet, and we had a lot of fun with it!

The best thing about the Shovel Knight games is that 1 and 2 have stories that are purposefully simple and silly and even when they have touching moments it's not really taking itself that seriously and then 3 and 4 are actual Shakespeare material

In hindsight, Shovel of Hope is kinda funny from Tinker Knight's perspective

In Plague of Shadows, it's revealed that Plague Knight found the relics and gave them to Chester in exchange for Arcana. In Specter of Torment and King of Cards, which take place before SoH, it's revealed that Tinker normally fights with his mobile gear. This explains why his first phase in the first game looks so ridiculous: he's not used to fighting without it.

Now, put yourself in his shoes for a second.

You're stuck working for an evil sorceress who, by the way, you accidentally freed during that one digging expedition. You know, the one with the big drill guy. You joined his team of excavators regardless of how sketchy they seemed, all because of your special interest, and now you're in this situation. Great. Just great.

At least you got some research on lava-proof submersibles.

But the excavation was in the past. Now, back to the present.

You're drowning in work. You're tired. But hey, it's not all bad. What matters the most is that you're doing what you love.

...why's it so noisy downstairs?

Suddenly, this guy with a shovel walks in... wait. That's the knight who kicked your ass when you were on that excavation team. And he has the NERVE to call you his "little friend." You're a GROWN MAN, god damn it! Screw this guy! You're overwhelmed, you can't think straight, you've been working too many hours for you to remember right now, and you are filled with RAGE.

You're not some tiny, defenseless loser. You can fight. You have your wrenches and your trusty mobile gea-

...

You have no mobile gear.

You trip and fall flat on your face. You're used to it by now. That's alright. Don't panic, don't panic. You can still do this. Just get up, try to dodge his attacks, throw wrenches at him and-

WHA-

IS THAT-???

HE-

HE TOOK. HE TOOK YOUR MOBILE GEAR.

THAT TIN-PLATED BASTARD TOOK YOUR FUCKING MOBILE GEAR. WHAT. WHERE DID HE GET IT-

HE RAN YOU OVER. HE RAN YOU OVER WITH YOUR OWN MOBILE GEAR. YOUR CREATION!! YOUR BRAINCHILD!!!

That's okay. That's alright.

This... was all just a RUSE!! That's right! You had your mech on standby this whole time! And he shall witness your TRUE power!!!

...anyway, he beats you and your mech breaks down.

Fast forward to dinner. You're having a banquet with your fellow knights... and since no one ever seems to build anything with people like you in mind, you have to prop yourself up on the table. Your arms hurt. You keep falling over every time you try reaching for the food. Now would be the perfect time to have your mobile gear. If only someone hadn't taken it from-

THERE HE IS!! TIN MAN!!

HE JUST DROPPED DOWN ON THE DINNER TABLE.

It seems your coworkers are as eager for a rematch as you are. It makes for a good show while you're eating.

But most importantly, you have a new plan.

And you're ready for revenge.

wait wAIT WAIT NOT THE GEAR!! NOT THE GEAR!!! AAAAAGHHGHHHHH!!!!! WHY???!?!? WHY DOES HE HAVE YOUR MOBILE GEAR?????!?!? WHO GAVE IT TO HIM??!?!?!?!!? WHYYYYYYYY???!!?!?!?!???!?!

Now, you're hanging on for dear life along with the other knights. The other... rather heavy knights. Half of them are pulling on your leg. God. You never wanted any of this. You just wanted to build. You just wanted the Order to peacefully rule over everyone... er, somehow. All of this because you wanted to solve some interesting problems on an excavation and ended up freeing an all-powerful dark magic enchantress. Was it worth it, Tinker? Was it worth it?

oh hey shovel knight saved you

He seems like a nice guy. Surely he'll give the mobile gear back to you after he's done with it... right?

Anyway, the Enchantress is no more and that era of your life is over now. Time to make some toys for the children. HELL YEAH!!!!

I haven't posted in a while,,,, oopsie~ anywho I'm making hc designs for (most) of the Shovel Knight (main) cast and originally didn't think I'd post them but,, eh why not cringe & free yknow

Some extra Info;

Shovel Knight is magical armor so instead of something underneath all that he has a sorta magic spirit which is his true self, the crack on his helmet was from the Enchantress fight

Shield Knight is partially harpy & is King Pridemoor's daughter, her wings replaced her ears from an odd mutation (normally harpies have wings replacing their arms)

Black Knight is partially bird anthro (think like Cooper but a raven instead), his wings were originally small but permanently grew from Enchantress' magic so they commonly hurt & he can't fly correctly

They're all dating bc yippee yay ^w^

These three it's some sort of long poncho/robe or some sort?

And in this one it's almost either a scarf or his robe is pulled up and tucked into his neck.

What would you guys classify it as? I'm trying to figure out a sewing pattern 😭
