(Fluff! + a lil bit of angst, belly being a bit jelly(tehehehe that rhythms), reader is neighbors w/ the fishers. This is surrounding the Fourth of July episode🇺🇸❤️, hints of jealousy, reader being a sweetheart, a bit of cursing, pls enjoy!)

Your pov:

“Do you think we need more tomatoes?”, Conrad asked trailing beside you. You both were grocery shopping for the Fisher’s yearly bbq, you pushed the shopping cart slowly eyeing the different watermelons for the right one. “Get two more, I’m gonna make my famous tomato bagels for lunch.”, he hummed stuffing two plump tomatoes in the plastic bag dropping it into the cart, you finally finished found the perfect watermelon knocking your knuckles against it to hear how hollow it was, you posted at it, “This is the one.”, Conrad picked it up carefully placing it in the cart turning to head to the register.

You both loaded up Jeremiah’s jeep and got in driving home, the summer sun beamed overhead glaring into the open sun roof and Clario played in the background, Conrad rested a hand on your thigh his blond hair messily sprawled across his forehead, you looked over at him with a smile, “You ready for the best Fourth of July ever, June bug?”, he asked you nodded throwing up your hands, “Hell yeah!”

When you both finally made it, Susannah and Laurel were out front putting up lasting decorations, Conrad honked making Steven and Jeremiah come out from the back gate to help unload the groceries. You got out to greet the two moms, “ Hi, Mrs Susannah.”, you said beaming giving her a hug she looked at you in complete awe, “Y/n, I haven’t seen you in a whole year you keep becoming more beautiful each time I see you.”, you smiled, “Thank you, is there anything I can do to help?”, you asked as you three went inside the house was decorated head to toe in American flags and red,white and blue bouquets. Susannah shook her head, “Just go relax, you’ve done more than enough to help.”, you smiled nodding Conrad appearing next to me, “Connie, can you get my bag out of my car so you can go change.”, he nodded leaving out of the house.

“Don’t you have legs, y/n.”, said a familiar voice you looked over to see Belly standing at the bottom of the stairs with a fake smile Laurel shot a stern look making her look away. “Be nice.”, she said softly before walking into the kitchen after Susannah you smiled at her, “Um, I brought you something, I’m sorry if I got on your bad side.”, Belly rolled her eyes, Conrad came back on with your duffle bag slug over his shoulder, you grabbed the bag and headed upstairs pasting her and going onto Conrad’s room.

Conrad pov:

“What the hell is your problem, belly.”, he said annoyed, combing his hair through his hair. She grumbled, “Your so stupid Conrad, I’ve always been the one to love you but you chose her instead.”, Conrad’s eyes widened, “Your like a sister to me, and quite frankly y/n is someone who I adore so you need to deal with it.”, she scoffed folding her arms as she passed him going into the backyard.

You came down oblivious to the heated transaction, Conrad looked at you in awe at your American flag bathing suit and blue jean shorts with your hair neatly wrapped in a bandana (I don’t want to specify so it can be assessable to all hair types 💗). “Surprise.”, you said with a smirk he smiled warmly, “You matched with me?”, he asked gesturing to his fourth of July print swim trunks. You nodded, kissing his forehead heading into the backyard to find Steven and Jeremiah playing volleyball in the pool and Taylor reading a magazine with Belly clearly venting with her about something hence the two looking directly at you.

Your pov:

“ I’ll go talk with the girls.”, you said heading over to them but Conrad grabbed your arm, “You sure?”, you nodded.

You walked over to the lounge chairs and sat down next to them holding two small white boxes, “Look, belly I know that you don’t like me because I’m with Conrad but I just want to try and be friends.”, you said softly giving the box to her, “This is an early birthday gift.”, you handed the other to Taylor who took it with a small smile, they both opened it with widened eyes, “I asked Conrad and Steven what you two liked and I got you personally made friendship bracelets.”, Taylor was quick to put it on thanking you but Belly looked down at it eventually putting it on, “Sorry, y/n I just really liked Conrad for a long time and never thought that you both would get together.”, you gave her a sympathetic look placing a hand on her thigh, “I get it, I was just as surprised.”, just then a loud yell from the kitchen ripped through the laughter.

Everyone quickly made it inside to find Susannah standing in front of a smashed glass and cake mix on the ground Laurel was quickly grabbing towels and a broom and Mr. Fisher standing in shock, “Mom,what happened?”, asked Jeremiah, “I think I need to lay down.”, she said quietly walking out Mr. Fisher going after her but Conrad grabbed his arm, “Not now, dad.”, Mr. Fisher nodded, after cleaning up the mess everyone tried to go back to before but there was still a small bit of tension in the air.

Later on, everyone sat on the beach eating dinner and playing uno, you and Conrad decided to take a swim while Jeremiah and Mr.Conklin put together the fireworks, Conrad held you by your hips quieter than before you could tell he was uneasy because of his dad’s appearance. “You okay?”, he nodded brushing his nose against your neck kissing your cheek, the smell of the water was salty and warm as the evening sun beamed dipping leaving a orangish pink in the sky. Once it became dark, you two settled on the back deck watching the firework show. Conrad rubbed his thumb aimlessly against your thigh as your now sweater wrapped arm rested against his arm, your head rested on his shoulder. “This was a lot of fun.”, you said softly, “Really? This was a disaster for me.”, he said humorously you shook your head looking at him; “I really enjoyed my time, especially getting to see your family and Conklin’s all together.”, he smiled placing a hand on your cheek kissing you, “I’m glad, sweetheart.”, you smiled kissing him back.

You two finally ended the night, in his room after a nice shower you laid in his bed snuggled against him in a pair of shorts and his oversized hoodie as you listened to his breathing while he slept. You combed through his hair softly, feeling your eyes become heavy and falling asleep.
