🌌✨ India Just Made Space History! 🇮🇳🚀
On January 16, 2025, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) successfully completed its first-ever space docking mission by linking two satellites in orbit – a feat few nations have ever achieved!
🛰️ What Happened?
India docked two SpaDeX satellites in orbit — a highly advanced and delicate space maneuver requiring extreme precision. This is India’s FIRST space docking – and it’s a big deal.
🚀 Who Else Has Done This?
Only a handful of countries/organizations have ever achieved successful space docking:
🇷🇺 Russia / USSR
🇺🇸 United States (NASA)
🇪🇺 European Space Agency
🇨🇳 China
✅ And now, 🇮🇳 India
🌠 Why It Matters
✔️ This tech is the foundation for space stations, satellite servicing, deep space travel, and even crewed missions to Mars. ✔️ It brings India one step closer to the #Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission. ✔️ ISRO is proving to the world: India builds world-class space tech.

"And one more time the faded dream is saddened by the news" [Star Trek: Earth Spacedock]
I've been exploring some of their dynamics again so here's the resident toxic yaoi! Lore dump below!
While Earth Spacedock's crew were nothing less than professional and efficient, anyone with half an awareness could tell there was a clear strain between the Medical and Engineering team. And it all boils down to their Chiefs' dynamic.
Doctor T'Oriell Calcraft (Caitian, CMO) has a history with Lt. Commander Cerni Alofer (Betazoid, Chief Engineer). T'Oriell and Cerni were Academy sweethearts and their love story seemed almost like a fairytale. Well, that was until an argument between the two led to T'Oriell finding out Cerni was cheating on him behind his back.
When they were still head over heels for each other, T'Oriell gave Cerni access to his thoughts and memories. T'Oriell trusted the betazoid with his life and shared everything with him. It was a bad move on his part, to let someone into his mind that easily. But could you blame him to be so trusting to the man who'd sworn his love and protection towards him?
Even after T'Oriell called it quits with Cerni, he knew that Cerni still held a part of him that he could never take back; his memories. His thoughts. His secrets, emotions, everything from his mind the Betazoid had seen. All of the things he has shared with Cerni, whether through words or simply their mental connection, cannot be taken back. Part of him was Cerni's whether he likes it or not
And T'Oriell despises Cerni because of it.

Following something like The Sojourn from the earliest publicly announced stages of its development is a hell of an experience.
I remember... fuck, six and a half years ago now, trying to extrapolate from the tiny sample size of the first Guinevere breakdown on Spacedock and the short thing about designing the Stardancer to come up with headcanons about the CDF ships named in a now-unlisted Atamara Crossroads battle breakdown video on EckhartsLadder, which did include the Leander-class destroyer, Confiance-class frigate, and Tetrarch-class first-rate ship of the line that are known of today, but also mentioned a Gatekeeper-class second-rate ship of the line that I haven't heard of since then. Obviously, the stuff I did extrapolate from that was terrible in hindsight.
Because this is the kind of thing I remember instead of remembering important real life adult shit, there was a Q&A stream on Twitch around then in which someone asked about dedicated carriers and Daniel said such a thing did exist, namedropping a Lysara-class ship which was presumably dropped at some point between then and the current worldbuilding about fighters in this setting.
Ah. Good times.

For some reason, Star Trek: The Motion Picture had five different new shuttle designs, and almost every Star Trek movie after has felt the need to introduce another completely different one.
