Best TMT Bars Are Only As Strong As Their HR Coil Base
The Backbone Beneath the Bars
Behind every resilient TMT bar lies a silent contributor: the HR coil. Often overshadowed by the shine of finished steel products, hot-rolled coils are where real strength is forged. Construction professionals know that the durability of a structure isn’t just about the visible elements—it begins with what goes into shaping them. That includes the HR coil, binding wire, and even how these materials interact with each other throughout the supply chain.
It Starts with the Right Coil: Material Makes the Difference
Not all HR coils are created equal. Their composition, surface finish, and thickness tolerance directly influence the metallurgical properties of the best TMT bar that will be produced from them. A high-quality HR coil ensures superior elasticity and bendability—traits essential when the bar is expected to handle seismic loads or support multi-story construction.
Lower-grade coils, on the other hand, often result in TMT bars with inconsistent strength zones, leading to micro-cracks and structural failures under stress. It’s here that the importance of sourcing from reputed mills becomes a non-negotiable standard.
The Missing Link Most Buyers Ignore
Many contractors focus solely on the specifications of the finished TMT bars, assuming that if the diameter and strength meet IS standards, the job is done. But they overlook the foundational role of HR coils in defining the TMT bar’s grain structure, fatigue resistance, and bonding capabilities with concrete.
Even premium binding wire—used extensively to tie rebar cages and mesh—relies on similar quality standards. If the wire or bar is produced from inferior HR coil stock, it compromises the overall reinforcement system’s cohesion, especially during load transfer in beams and columns.
Consistency Matters: Why HR Coil Uniformity Can't Be Compromised
When a construction project demands uniformity in strength and performance, HR coil quality consistency becomes critical. Coils that vary in thickness, scale, or carbon content create TMT bars that can’t guarantee predictable load-bearing capacities.
This is especially dangerous in regions prone to high winds, floods, or earthquakes. Structural engineers know that even the best TMT bar will underperform if born from substandard HR coils. The coil’s chemistry affects how the bar reacts during thermo-mechanical treatment, impacting everything from the martensite formation in the outer surface to the ferrite-pearlite core.
Steel That Talks: Testing Isn’t Optional
Before TMT bars hit the construction site, they undergo testing. But truly dependable bars are traceable back to tested HR coils. Reputable manufacturers maintain test certificates, spectroanalysis reports, and rolling logs that verify each coil’s origin, heat treatment, and mechanical properties.
On the other hand, bars without this traceability, even if they appear identical, may fail under pressure. It’s like choosing a vehicle by its paint job while ignoring the engine under the hood.
The Chain Reaction: How One Weak Link Destroys Structural Integrity
Consider this: a building’s frame is only as strong as its reinforcement grid. If the binding wire slips or the TMT bar fails under stress, there’s no second chance. Most of these failures originate at the metallurgical level—in the quality of the HR coil used.
Many builders opt for the best TMT bar from trusted names but still purchase cheaper, low-tensile binding wire. This mismatch creates an unbalanced reinforcement system where the bar holds, but the wire snaps—leading to cage collapse or crack propagation in RCC members.
Conclusion: Strong Buildings Begin Before the First Brick
Durability doesn’t start at the construction site. It starts at the rolling mill, where HR coils set the tone for every structural product that follows. Whether it’s the best TMT bar or reliable binding wire, their potential is only as strong as the coil they came from.
For anyone serious about long-lasting, disaster-resistant construction, overlooking HR coil quality is not just a technical flaw—it’s a structural gamble.

I'm so normal about Villys and Cabin Boys I spent all day making designs for all seven of them.
(click for quality sorry I'm too lazy to make them individual for easy closeups)
Design notes and headcanons under the cut!
Cabin Boys Design Motifs: Flannel shirts. Hefty footwear sporting steel toes. Fingerless Gloves and some sort of small pack (Or lots of Pockets- Etho.) "Hey guys lets all wear green and not tell Scar" /j
Scar: Vex - After being trapped in Secret Life for so long he genuinely thought Wild life may have been a dream. Now another game has begun and He's having to come to terms with Wild being a real game. And thus all the emotions coming with it. Due to his final death in the previous game via Grian abandoning him to be killed by his snail (and the general rocky dynamic they had the whole game), He's finally accepting They've DEFINITELY been broken up since Double Life. He's handling this well clearly. With all of two buttons done on his shirt, he cant keep it tucked in- He WILL claim this is for easy removal for the Hot Tub. Do Not Believe Him. His team is convinced he hasnt seen a hairbrush since his previous victory. Now that he knows Wild Life wasnt a dream, Scar supposes he's just permanently going grey now. Fun! Scar has his winners "crown" as a pseudo brand over his heart- Taking the shape of a mangled crown. His cane seems to be hand carved from Dark Oak- Wait thats not available yet? Dont Question it. He wears Hiking boots and a pack strapped to his leg. He seems to not have anything but his eye colour displaying his remaining lives.
Scott: Celestial Horse - Scott is just COVERED in Star motifs. It comes with being a celestial creature he supposes. His winners "crown" is the yellow star nestled in his half-star shaped ahoge. He has high waisted jeans with his flannel tucked into them to give the silhouette of a crop top. The flannel of course is falling off his shoulders- though his hair seems to hide it most of the time. His pack is just strapped around his waist, and his boots are- Well they have steel toes! Etho HATES that they're heels. Not Very Woodsy. But Scott's Cute so who cares really? He's keepign his tail braided- Not just for it beign a death game- but they're Cabin Boys, so He needs to make sure his tail stays out of the way. Scott's lives are shown via the two main stars on his head, the streaks in his hair/tail, and his eyes.
Bdubs: Nobody knows what he is honestly.... - Bdubs Stole his flannel from Etho because he didnt have his own and wanted to match everyone. He's been going grey since his bleached hair phase. I'm sorry I didnt pull from his old skin for his face I hate not-smiling Bdubs you cant make me not draw a smile. Bdubs has combat boots, and his fanny pack is what displays his remaining lives (its base colour will change from green to yellow to red, and the respective hearts will grey out as well) aside from the faint coloured glow in his massive eyes. The bandages around his arms arent for any injury, they're just a quick option to keep his hands protected with all the building and inevitable combat.
Etho: Artic Fox - Kakashi as a canadian mountain man. Etho is THE prepared cabin guy for this team. Sure he's got cargo pants and a thick jacket, yet He still has pockets you couldn't even understand. His jacket is flannel so he really didnt need the extra shirt- So bdubs can have it. (ethubs truther what who said that) His jacket has a patch on each arm, but only one has anything on it- Being the canadian maple leaf- The other is entirely Blank. Etho is one of very few lifers who's (not hidden) eye doesn't give away his lives- That would be great if he didnt have his headband showing it off instead. Etho's boots are shockingly high quality and even have traction spikes on them.
---
The Villians Villys motifs: Roses. Seatbelt buckled belts. Heart Patches (Pearl's is currently missing). Converse-adjacent shoe types. "eye bags".
Pearl: Grey Wolf - She is shocked to find she arrived in this game looking like a shotty recreation of her old look from 2011... Her hair is already growing out who did this dye job?? Seems the dye didnt cover up the moons in her hair though. (Her hair will continue to "grow out" to her normal brown as the season progresses). Her old apperances bright blue eye ALMOST overtakes the life-series-induced Green Eyes- So she has sectoral heterochromia for awhile. Pearl has small roses woven into a crown with moon phase emblems. Her winners "crown" is the crescent ahoge that floats above her head. Due to her win being Double Life, and Scott, already a winner, was her soul mate, her crown took a similar apperance to his- She's been covered in moons almost like he is covered in Stars because of this as well. Several games later and she still has to live with that connection to him. Pearl's outfit is as emo/scene as I could make the original skin. Featuring many belts, wedge heel knee high converse, a single fishnet glove and too many bracelets on one arm. And- Oh god who did this smokey eye look- she looks like she hasnt slept in weeks because of it. Gross! (/dram) Pearl has a studded checker belt, and her seatbelt buckled belt has its buckle looking similar to the Watchers logo as she's a previous EVO member. She is Currently missing her hoodie, and thus her heart patch- Her jacket will reappear later (whenever cc!Pearl puts on a hoodie'd skin), and the patch will be on her back. She misses her jacket :(
Grian: Avian (Cardinal) - Grian is grateful he didnt spawn in his old outfit like Pearl did- At least. He didnt entirely... He Spawned in with his Link Hat... But he was able to rip it off his head and shove it in his pocket before anyone figured out what it was. Everyone assumes it's a handkerchief or something- It's green so maybe it'll show his lives (it will not). He's wearing Kahki cargo pants and his shoes go halfway up his lower legs. They have suns embroidered into their sides. Grians seatbelt buckled belt also sports the watchers logo like Pearls. He has a pouch strapped to the belt with a poppy and some lilacs embroidered into it. He hasn't seen this pouch since 3rd life. Scar did the embraidery for him... Huh. Interesting. He's so sure he didn't base in the desert on purpose Guys Stop Looking At Him Like That- Grians winners "crown" is a glow always behind his head. Its like he glows like the sun (though Much less bright. Its tolerable- sometimes barely noticeable. But bright enough that he's not in a bad spot if he runs out of torches). He and Gem have matching large roses. His Heart patch is a third light-green to show he's down to 5 lives. And after his diamond crash out he is TIRED. He is EXHAUSTED. He's got eyebags now. Guess he matches Pearl and Gem now.
Gem: Deer - Gem. Is. Sick. Poor girl. Her eyes seem dull, her eyebags are dark. She's always sniffling and her hair is a mess. But she swears she's fine. Alongside the rose she has to match Grian, Pearl braided some rosebuds and leaves into her hair. She may have lost her pvp Match against Etho (as shown by the light green slowly filling the Heart patched to her chest), but she's keeping a sword strapped to her hip- She even crafter a little rose bulb to put on the end of it. It's just run through her belt- Shes the only oen in the team without the Watchers logo. For obvious reasons of course. Hers instead has a green button and will change with her lives. Her overalls have vines and roses embroidered down the sides, and of course she has her bi flag as always. Her shoes are checkered- a popular pattern way back in the day.

David Moreno
Rotterdam-based David Moreno prefers his spatial pieces to oscillate between initial sketches of architectural projects and fully-realised constructions. His steel sculptures are comprised of lengthy metal strips and piano strings that are arranged to form building complexes, cathedrals, and steep flights of stairs. Despite being three-dimensional artworks, they mimic an architect’s outlines with their swooping lines and grid-like qualities.

PAPEL ESPRESSO - DEVASA+

As a home barista, investing in high-quality espresso tools can significantly improve the quality of your espresso shots. One such tool that has gained popularity in recent years is the Best WDT tool, or the Weiss Distribution Technique tool. The WDT tool is designed to evenly distribute coffee grounds in the portafilter basket, resulting in a more consistent and flavorful espresso shot. By breaking up clumps and ensuring even distribution, the WDT tool can prevent channeling and improve extraction. Its compact size also makes it a convenient tool for on-the-go brewing, with some models measuring as small as a lipstick. While the WDT tool is a valuable tool for home baristas, it is not the only tool that can improve espresso quality. Another popular tool is the espresso scale, which allows for precise measurement of coffee grounds and water. While the scale can aid in achieving consistency in espresso shots, it does not address the issue of uneven distribution, which the WDT tool can effectively solve. In comparison, the WDT tool can provide a more comprehensive solution to achieving a consistently high-quality espresso shot. When it comes to choosing the best WDT tool espresso, the Lelit Mara X stands out as a top contender. This fully adjustable tool allows for customization based on the number, shape, and strength of needles, as well as the overall material. Its thinner 10+10 needles, made of food-safe stainless steel and measuring 0.35mm in diameter, are the perfect size to break up clumps and ensure even distribution. Additionally, the Lelit Mara X is designed to be the last WDT espresso you will ever need, with its durability and adjustability. Investing in high-quality tools like the Lelit Mara X can significantly improve the quality of your espresso shots, making your home brewing experience more enjoyable and rewarding.

i just saw a post about how we just have to "live with" covid and wanting more protections from our government is unreasonable because we'll never wipe it out, it jumps species and is in all sorts of animal populations (like, true ok) so why even try to
and apparently the argument was aimed at people (who I haven't seen in the wild) who are arguing we should still be in lockdown. and i have mixed feelings about the idea of extended lockdown or attenuating isolations; but my main feeling at this point is not that the government should keep us apart but that the government should be trying to make it safer for us to be together
things the government could/should be doing about covid:
we know that ventilation/air movement helps a shitton. we should be incentivizing upgrades to ventilation systems in all public buildings with shit like rebates or tax deductions, while phasing in eventual legal requirements. (and uh. it has occurred to me that the US might actually be doing this sideways by there's currently this decade enormous tax incentives in re energy efficient upgrades for slowing climate change and you know. energy efficient hvac does tend to improve ventilation. extra point to biden here.)
mandatory paid sick leave so workers aren't under social or economic pressure to work when sick
passing out RT-LAMP tests like metrix that actually work instead of the rapid antigen tests that have become less and less reliable as the virus mutates
i don't know how you'd write this law but like 95% or more of computer-based work can be done remotely and companies should not be allowed to force people to return to the office. I know there's people who want to be back in person and I'm not saying they should be forced to stay home but ffs I know of at least two people CLOSE to me who worked remotely before the pandemic and at some point their workplaces tried to tell them they weren't allowed to do that anymore despite the pre-existing contracts. stop canceling remote work for people that want, need, or prefer it.
for that matter, every college lecture that was an online class during covid should still be offered as an online class, there is no reason to force students into auditoriums in person. you got the communications infrastructure up and running, why are you tearing it down. give people the OPTION. it increases accessibility for everyone!
covid vaccine immunity lasts about four months. this should be well-publicized and everyone should be able to re-up for free every four months. "every year, like the flu vaccine" is demonstrably not often enough. actually "for free" isn't good enough start handing out $10 gift cards you will be shocked at how many people who are resistant to the idea of vaccines will fold for $10 a shot
are there already laws on the books about masks in medical settings that some medical professionals are blatantly ignoring because they forgot what best practices were before the plague and they're 'tired of masking'? if not, pass laws. if so, fucking enforce them
oh another incentives for upgrades phasing into legal requirements thing: brass doorknobs and railings over stainless steel or whatever. microbes do not survive on brass surfaces
i mean. i know this one sounds too extreme to a lot of people but. UBI.
most if not all of these measures will prevent or ameliorate other pandemics of different diseases that may arise in the future. and just. generally improve our health and quality of life for other reasons.
I haven't felt safe to go to a concert since 2020. Maybe if I knew a venue was legally required to have ventilation to a certain standard and that none of the ticket takers and ushers were on the job sick to avoid risking loss of paycheck or job, and knew a larger percentage of the crowd had up to date vaccinations--maybe if any or all that, I might ever feel comfortable going to a show again.
wouldn't it be nice if those of us who have been disabled, by covid or other conditions, had accessible remote options but also occasionally felt safe enough to interact with and participate in wider society?
one of the arguments on the post I saw was how isolation was massively psychologically damaging and various strata of society were affected in all sorts of ways, from undersocialized kids to increased depression in--well across the board, I think. and here's the thing: WE KNOW. PEOPLE WITH CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS, LONG COVID OR OTHERWISE, KNOW ISOLATION SUCKS REAL BAD. because we, both for our own health and due to disability ostracism, are still isolating and isolated more than most.
what are you as individuals or societies, what are our governments, doing to help make it safe and accessible to rejoin you????

White Hair and Trauma Brawl Round 1; Poll 27

remember, voting is based on swag, trauma, and favoritism!!
trauma and propaganda under the cut!
Trauma!
Killua: “Horrifically abusive family and training to become an assassin, both emotional and physical- Though it’s a bit more complicated than that. Also constantly having loved ones in danger and near death, but I’ll avoid going into details for spoilers’ sake.”
“Killua was raised as a child assassin and tortured regularly by his family. He ran away from home to become a Hunter but his abusive older brother came after him and manipulated him into getting disqualified, saying Killua isn't qualified to have friends. Killua does eventually leave, makes friends etc. but he struggles to get past his family's teachings!!
Later, Killua also becomes part of an extermination team against extremely powerful enemies. I should note Killua is 12-14 at this point (depends on what version of the timeline you use lol). And Killua is TERRIFIED that his best friend Gon is going to die and/or doesn't actually want Killua around, and Killua is basically steeling himself to die with Gon and breaking down over his own uselessness. Which culminates in Killua witnessing what is more or less Gon's suicide attempt and having to be the one to save him.”
Mathis (Sr.): Is 23 years into the lifespan of 30 (at best) in a country that he hates. Has to do a job working for the government that he hates. Lives in a village that he hates. Has a wife who convinced him to have a kid he didn't really want and is now helping a rebellion against the government. Got jealous and snitched on his wife and immediately regretted it when the government killed her and burnt down the entire village and blinded his son. Tried doing a suicide run to rescue his kid and his wife's life work, somehow failed to die. Ran away to another country. Someone wrote an abridged play about this whole affair. He did not get paid for it but now everyone knows him as that Foreign Guy With The Blind Son. Joined a criminal gang for like 5 bucks. Criminal gang imploded. Joined a new group where out of 3 other adults, 2 are cops and the 3rd is a mildly fascist pro-government animated corpse from his home country. And the corpse is the only guy sympathetic to him.
Propaganda!
Killua: "he’s also literally purple. coolest color. and he has skateboard"
“Its gotta be killua like c’mon. deuteragonist who’s whole character arc is about recognizing and healing from his trauma?”
Mathis (Sr.): He's literally the worst. Barely any redeeming qualities, has a very cute son he didn't really want and frankly he kinda treats him like ass even if he's the centre of his life. Had a very cool wife who he fumbled harder than anyone has ever fumbled before. Is generally a miserable and unpleasant person most of the time because his life is joever and he's got the insides of a 60 year old despite being 23 because he's gonna die at 30 at best. Vote for him because truly this is all he's got going for him and also he'll be dead soon. Please give him a win for once in his sad little life.

Don’t Leave Me (I’m Staying)
This was meant to be a tiny lil ficlet based on a prompt line (that I didn’t even end up using in the actual fic) and then it turned into this…a drunk bucktommy fix-it of sorts lol. Anyways, hope y’all enjoy it! Ps. Tommy is hard on himself in this one and blames himself entirely for the break up, that in no way represents my opinions on the matter. It’s just how it turned out in this fic 😋
bucktommy | wc: 2,711 | post break up, light angst, emotional hurt/comfort |
Read here or on ao3
The call came in a little past midnight. Tommy had gone to bed early—after the usual romantic comedies failed to hold his attention and only made him feel more miserable. He’d hoped for a rare, dreamless sleep. But instead he found himself trapped in one of his recurring nightmares—memories of leaving the loft, ruining the best thing that had ever happened to him—when the sharp ring of his phone jolted him awake, his heart pounding before his brain caught up.
Squinting at the screen, his breath hitched.
E. Buckley
He almost dropped his phone in his haste, thumb fumbling to answer the call before it stopped ringing.
“B—Buck?” he stammered. “Are you okay?”
There was a pause, and then a voice that was definitely not Evan’s, heavy with irritation and booze, spoke.
“Hey, this Tommy?”
Tommy frowned, sitting up straighter. “Yeah, that’s me. Where’s Evan? Is he okay?” His mind raced, already conjuring a million scenarios, none of them good.
“Define ‘okay’,” the guy snorted. Tommy’s stomach dropped before he focused on the rest of the words. “Your boy’s shit-faced. Keeps crying and saying your name. Maybe come get him so the rest of us can drink in peace?” the man slurred.
Tommy’s heart lurched at the thought of Evan crying. He forced out a tight thanks to the drunk man, getting the name of the bar while he yanked on his jeans and boots. Thirty-five minutes later, he was parked in front of a dingy-looking dive lit by flickering neon signs and plastered with shady looking posters promising “quality alcohol.”
For a moment, he debated calling someone else—Eddie, or maybe even Sergeant Grant—but then wondered why Evan would come to an out of the way dive like this, alone. Steeling himself, Tommy decided to go in, keeping 9-1-1 dialed on his phone, just in case.
It didn’t take long to find him. Evan was sprawled over the bar top, head buried in his folded arms, his curls sticking out every which way. Tommy’s heart raced at the sight of him, as well as feeling an overwhelming sense of relief at once again being in the same room as Evan.
Tommy made his way through the bar, clocking in all the exits and keeping an eye on the other patrons, bracing himself for any trouble.
“Hey, Ev—Buck,” he hastily corrected himself, as he came up beside him. “Let’s get you home.”
Bleary baby blue eyes lifted, unfocused but just as bright as always. A lopsided grin spread across Evan’s face.
“Tommy” he slurred, his voice full of unguarded wonder. “My Tommy.”
Tommy’s chest tightened painfully at Evan’s words. He knew he’d be Evan’s until the day he died—leaving that night hadn't changed that, had only made it worse. It had made him realize that Evan was it for him. But it also confirmed what he’d always feared: Evan deserved more than a broken man like him. Still, hearing Evan call him his, ignited a flicker of hope he couldn’t afford to acknowledge. Not right now.
“Yeah, it’s me,” he whispered. “You okay, Buck?”
“Nooo,” Evan protested, shaking his head so vehemently he almost tumbled off the stool, if not for Tommy catching him and keeping a steady hand on him.
“Not Buck,” Evan mumbled, burping mid-sentence. “Not to you. Ev…Evan,” he said, poking Tommy in the chest and trying to glare at him—a glare somewhat softened by the way he kept squinting and hiccuping.
Tommy exhaled a shaky laugh, a pang of something tender and broken twisting deep in his chest. Even like this, Tommy couldn't help but be absolutely endeared by the other man.
“Alright, Evan. Let’s get you out of here.”
“I don’t want to go home, it’s empty a…and—lonely” Evan replied quietly, eyes shifting away as he made himself smaller.
“Hey, no…it’s okay.” Tommy’s heart cracked, guilt taking hold of him. “I’ll take you to Eddie’s—”
“Ha!” Evan cuts in, chuckling bitterly. “No, that’s empty too.”
“What do you mean?” Tommy frowned, feeling a sense of foreboding creep up on him.
“He’s in Texas, looking at houses,” Evan paused, exhaling deeply. “He’s leaving…everyone leaves me. Why—” He trailed off, slumping as though the weight of everything was suddenly falling over him.
Tommy went rigid, the raw vulnerability in Evan’s voice cutting through him like a blade. Tommy thought he had braced himself for whatever tonight would bring but he hadn’t prepared for this—seeing the possible aftermath of his absence carved into the man he loved.
“Okay,” Tommy said, his resolve crumbling. His next words came out hesitantly, almost afraid…of what, he didn’t know. Rejection or the thought of what would come after—inevitably breaking his own heart again. “I’ll take you to my house.”
He knew it was selfish, he didn't have a right to this anymore, no right to be the one Evan leaned on. But he couldn’t help himself. He wanted to take care of Evan, just for tonight, even if saying goodbye in the morning might destroy him.
“With you?” Evan asked, his voice trembling with disbelief as he looked up at him.
Tommy’s stomach dropped. “Yeah, sweet…heart,” his voice catching on the endearment that slipped out. “With me. I want to make sure you're okay. Is that alright? I can call Bobby or Hen if you’d rather—”
“No!” Evan yelled, eyes wide and glassy. “Take me with you, please?”
“Shh,’’ Tommy soothed, gently brushing away the tears gathering at the edges of Evan’s eyes. “Don’t cry, honey. You can come with me.”
It took some effort to get him upright, but eventually, Tommy had an arm around Evan’s waist and one of Evan’s draped over his shoulder as they headed for the door.
Suddenly, a man stepped in front of them.
“So, you came for your boy?” the man slurred, swaying unsteadily. Tommy recognized his voice as the caller.
Tommy tensed, his mind racing through potential threats, readying himself to protect Evan. Only, instead of hostility or the expected homophobic barb, the man pointed a half-empty beer at him and said, “You better fix it. Take him home and grovel.”
Tommy blinked, caught off guard. “Uh…yeah,” he managed, unsure how else to respond.
The drunk shook his head and stumbled back toward the bar, muttering incomprehensible things all the while.
Tommy exhaled deeply. “Alright, let’s get out of here,” he muttered, tightening his grip on Evan as they headed for the exit.
______________________________________
The drive to his house was quiet, except for the occasional hiccup or muttered word from Evan.Tommy had gotten him to drink a full water bottle, before Evan slumped against the passenger window for the rest of the trip. He did his best to drive carefully, not wanting to dislodge him or have him bump his head. Tommy kept his eyes on the road but couldn’t help glancing at him every few seconds.
When they finally arrived, Tommy parked and hurried to the passenger side, slipping an arm under Evan’s knees and bracing the other against his back. He lifted him with a grunt, feeling Evan’s steady weight against him as the other man buried his face in Tommy’s neck, sniffing deeply and mumbling against his skin. The sensation of Evan’s lips on his neck sent a shiver throughout his body.
Taking a deep breath, Tommy moved inside, carrying Evan to the couch. He eased him down gently, propping him up as he kneeled in front of him to tug off his shoes, feeling Evan’s eyes following his every movement as he did so.
Then Evan mumbled, hesitantly. “Tommy, I’m sorry…just, sorry.”
Tommy froze, his throat tightening. He looked up sharply. “Evan, you don't need to apologise for this. I'm always happy to help you,” he said, keeping his voice calm, trying to soothe him.
But Evan shook his head weakly, a new wave of tears spilling over his flushed cheeks. “No.” he whispered, voice breaking. “I'm sorry for being too much. For messing it all up. I always…jump ahead of myself and…I didnt mean to scare you away.” His voice trailed off in a pleading tone.
The words hit Tommy like an avalanche, burying him under their weight and his breath left him in a rush. His hands stilled, hovering over Evan’s untied laces as his chest clenched painfully. Too much? He couldn't believe what he was hearing. When Tommy left that night, he knew he was breaking both their hearts, but he thought Evan would be able to move on easily. He’d convinced himself that someone as bright, good and incredibly kind as Evan would find someone better—someone who really deserved him. And in the end, Tommy wouldn’t be missed.
But, he hadn't anticipated this. He hadn't anticipated this.
Tommy sat back on his heels, trembling as the realization of Evans words and his own actions crashed down on him. He needed to fix this. He couldn't live with himself knowing that this wonderful selfless man blamed himself for Tommy’s cowardice.
“Hey,” Tommy said softly, his voice catching in his throat as he tried to draw Evan’s eyes to his. He couldn't stop himself from reaching out and brushing a stray curl from Evan’s damp forehead, his breath stuttering when Evan followed the motion.
Tommy swallowed hard in the silence of the room, broken only by Evan’s quiet sniffles.
“It wasn't you, okay? It wasn't you, Evan.” Tommy said, his voice thick, as he emphasized Evan’s name, needing him to understand that. “This…It was entirely on me.”
Evan frowned, the words lighting a fire in his eyes and stirring something defiant in him. His expression shifted, his mouth tightening as his brows furrowed in bitter disbelief. “Really?” He scoffed, voice cutting. “You're giving me the "it's not you, it's me" line?” A bitter laugh spewing from his mouth. “They all leave me, but it's okay…because it's not me,” he said derisively.
Evan sucked in a shuddering breath, his voice cracking when he spoke again. “You want to know something funny? I didn't think you’d leave. But—” His hands rose up to his face, gripping it as though trying to keep the words in, before giving up. They dropped limply to his lap.
Tommy’s heart twisted, knowing what was coming. He could already feel the sting of it.
“You left. You left me, Tommy.”
Evan’s voice was barely above a whisper, but the words still reverberated in the room.
And Tommy shattered.
Those words, they obliterated him. Every defense he had crumbled, leaving him raw and exposed, guilt bleeding through every crack. He felt the tears running down his face, and he tried to hold himself together—not wanting Evan to see what his words had done to him. But wasn’t that the very thing that had brought them here? Tommy hiding himself away from the world, scared to show himself for fear of being hurt. But he was already hurting—and had been from the moment he walked out the door that night.
He looked up at Evan, whose face was heartbreakingly vulnerable, tears shimmering in his blue eyes, but completely open to him, his pain laid bare for Tommy to see. It was only fair, Tommy did the same.
“I know,” Tommy rasped, voice thick and uneven. “I know. And I’m sorry.”
He pressed a hand to his chest—instinctive, desperate—as if trying to hold his heart together.
For one wild moment, Tommy wished he could rip it out and hand it to Evan, to show him that it had always been his. From the day Evan had smiled at him after a hurricane rescue gone well, Tommy’s heart had belonged to him. It always would. Instead, his fingers tightened in the fabric of his shirt, useless, trembling, trying to show how much he meant it.
“I’m so sorry, Evan,” he whispered again.
Evan blinked at him, fresh tears spilling over as he exhaled a trembling breath. The room was silent save for their uneven breathing. They just looked at each other, months of pain and longing passing unspoken between them.
Then, they moved at the same time—Tommy leaning forward, giving in to the urge to touch, to comfort, to heal. He gathered Evan in his arms, pulling him close.
“You didn’t mess anything up, baby.” Tommy murmured, the endearment coming out naturally again. He felt Evan’s head drop to his shoulder, shuddering against him. “I did. I was scared. Scared of you seeing the real me…the broken man behind the façade. And I thought—” he stopped, his throat closing up painfully for a second. “I thought leaving would protect my heart. That it would be better if I left before I got in any deeper. But it wasn’t. It wasn’t any better. Oh god…Evan.”
A sob tore through him as he held Evan tighter, his grip unyielding, as if letting go might break him once and for all. Evan’s arms wrapped around him just as fiercely, his hands clutching at Tommy’s back with equal desperation.
For the first time in months, Tommy let himself feel everything he’d been holding back. The pain of being apart from Evan, the weight of his regrets and endless “what ifs’ that had haunted him—all of it poured out in body shaking sobs. But this time, he wasn't alone. Evan was there, holding him through it.
And Tommy felt Evan’s pain too—he accepted it, welcomed it, knowing he had caused it. It was his to carry, and he’d carry it for as long as he needed to.
Evan didn't say anything for a while, his face buried against Tommy's neck as he took in shaky, uneven breaths—shivering in his arms. When Evan finally spoke, his voice was a broken whisper. “It hurt. It hurt so much, Tommy.”
Tommy swallowed hard, his throat tightening with emotion. He nodded, taking responsibility for the hurt, before giving in to the need and pressing a soft kiss to the side of Evan’s head.
He knew Evan wasn't trying to hurt him with those words. He just wanted Tommy to understand and…he did.
Tommy’s voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper when he at last pulled himself together. “I can’t take away what I did, but if you’ll let me…I’ll do my best to make it better.”
The words hung in the air between them, heavy with a promise Tommy didn’t intend to break. Evan pulled back, searching his face before taking both of Tommy’s hands in him, squeezing emphatically with every word that spilled from him. “We…We will make it better. Together an—and, we’re going to stay for each other. O—okay?” he stuttered.
Tommy felt something click, something slot back inside of him—relief, grief, hope, love—all fitting together in a way that finally made sense. “Okay.” he answered, unhesitatingly, with the full conviction of a man who’d gone through hell and made it out.
Evan sighed, slumping fully against him in relief. Slowly, the tension drained from his body, his breathing evening out as exhaustion and the lingering effects of the alcohol took over.
Tommy shifted, settling them down to lay on the couch, his arms still wrapped securely around Evan. He felt completely wrung out, pulled inside out, but for the first time in months, he felt no regret.
He looked down at Evan, now curled up against him, his face tranquil and smoothed in sleep. Tommy brushed a hand lightly over his back, grounding himself in the reality of holding him again.
Tomorrow, they would talk. Whether Evan remembered tonight or not, Tommy would lay everything out again. He’d fight for them—for the second chance he’d been too afraid to ask for before. Therapy, hard conversations, whatever it took.
Because now he knew. He’d finally realized what he should have understood all along: Evan deserved someone who would stay.
And Tommy was done running.
He knew it wouldn’t be easy, but his mind flashed to Evan squeezing his hands and promising they’d do it together. Hope flickered unwaveringly in his chest, easing the ache in his heart and, at long last Tommy felt like he could breathe again.
Evan stirred slightly, his fingers twitching against Tommy’s arm as he mumbled, “Stay.”
Tommy pressed a kiss to Evan’s hair as he whispered “I’m not going anywhere, love. Not this time.”
And he meant it.

Hot-Rolled Coil: The Foundation of High-Quality Rebars

Understanding the Importance of Core Materials
In construction, long-term performance starts at the source. For reinforcement steel products—especially those used in Super Rings and bar dowel systems—the role of the base material cannot be overstated. The hot-rolled coil isn’t just a feedstock; it’s the material backbone that defines how rebars behave under structural loads.
The Role of Hot-Rolled Coil in Rebar Manufacturing
Hot-rolled coil is the first critical input in rebar production. It has to exhibit consistency in chemical makeup, tensile strength, dimensional uniformity, and grain structure. These attributes directly have an effect on the rebar’s potential to bend, weld, anchor, and perform under pressure. A susceptible coil introduces unpredictable conduct downstream—something no engineer or contractor can find the money for.
Why Super Rings Demand High-Quality Coils
Super Rings are engineered to enhance lateral stability in seismic zones and high-rise frameworks. To meet these demands, the rebar used must be bendable without cracking and durable without compromise.
That’s only possible when the hot-rolled coil it originates from is thermally and mechanically consistent, allowing for tight-radius bending with no surface or internal stress failures.
Precision Requirements in Bar Dowel Applications
Unlike Super Rings, bar dowels are about alignment and load transfer. These straight bars embedded in concrete slabs require exact duration, straightness, and floor finish.
A poorly manufactured hot-rolled coil—too brittle, warped, or choppy—can cause cracked joints, load imbalance, or even early structural fatigue. Precision starts with a coil that behaves predictably under processing.
The Procurement Perspective: Why Coil Quality Matters
Large infrastructure and real estate projects rely on reliable suppliers. Choosing hot-rolled coil with lab-verified metallurgy, uniform rolling, and minimal scale ensures that rebar processing stays on track, be it automated cutting, threading, or forming into Super Rings and bar dowels.
Poor coil results in downstream delays, wastage, and quality rejections that escalate project costs.
Mechanical Standards That Define Performance
For reinforcement-grade rebars, hot-rolled coil typically needs a tensile strength of 410 MPa or higher. It must also meet elongation criteria and possess a low carbon equivalent to enhance weldability.
These metrics influence the performance of rebar in multiple formats—be it stirrups, rings, or dowel bars. Even small variances in coil composition can result in subpar field behavior.
Production Integrity: How Top Manufacturers Stand Out
Reliable steel manufacturers implement calibrated rolling systems, online thickness monitors, and accelerated cooling processes to control coil quality.
These facilities produce hot-rolled coil that delivers optimal consistency and structural integrity. Their coils are tested, tracked, and trusted, forming the base for dependable Super Rings and bar dowel integrations in modern construction.
Risks of Using Inferior Coil Sources
Visually acceptable doesn’t mean structurally safe. Coils lacking internal integrity may pass initial inspection but fail during bending or welding.
This becomes apparent in the form of brittle rebars, splitting during dowel machining, or ring deformation under stress. Such failures not only delay construction but also increase liability.
The Structural Chain Starts with the Coil
Every project stakeholder—whether a structural consultant, civil engineer, or procurement head—knows that consistency in core material safeguards the entire build process.
Reliable hot-rolled coil translates to rebars that pass on-site inspections, hold up under strain, and integrate flawlessly into Super Rings and bar dowel components.
Conclusion: The Coil Defines the Outcome
In reinforcement steel production, quality starts well before the rebar takes shape. The hot-rolled coil is where reliability begins.
Its consistency, strength, and metallurgical properties influence everything downstream—from the integrity of Super Rings in core columns to the performance of bar dowels in load transfer systems.
In high-stakes construction, the foundation is always steel—and that foundation begins with the coil.

Fanart based off a comment on Steel Can't Carry Me Now by @elle-rosewater (eliotrosewater on Ao3). Alternatively, my live reaction when Jojo confirmed that Warriors did not, in fact, meet a younger Time (Mask) during the War of Eras. It's still canon in my heart IT'S STILL CANON IN MY HEART
Does this count as fanart of Steel? Either way, go read it if you enjoy Warriors angst, War of Eras content and fantastic writing!!
Comment and random chatter under the cut!
Here's the comment this was based on, in response to TKato - beware, I believe the full thing has pretty major spoilers if you decide to go check the fic out.

One day I'll learn to not overdo things. This was supposed to be a little sketch. I ended up spending a full night on it and subsequently ignoring studying. 😬 ONE DAY I will learn moderation. Not today though!
I did spare myself the torture of rendering Time's armor, though. I was halfway through when I paused and wondered why I would ever do this to myself on what was supposed to be a funny doodle LOL
I think........ keeping my handwriting neat was a form of torture. It gave me hand cramps. I am a cursive scribbler at heart

Sorry my brain is being silly and it just went "how would the aa characters use a youtube channel" so now here's your list of that
Phoenix: you would think he wouldn't have one, but he does and the only thing on it is the ad he and Maya made in the anime Maya: Runs a Steel Samurai analysis/review channel called Real Pink Princess that has over 100k subs. The most popular video is one that features Will Powers as a guest. Sometimes there will be unexpected breaks and when she gets back she's like "sorry guys I got arrested!" and at this point none of her subs know if she's joking or not. Pearl: Does not have a youtube channel but likes to help Maya and Trucy with editing. Ema: Her youtube channel is only a mirror for her tiktoks. Those tiktoks being incredibly ridiculous, sometimes dangerous science experiments and also explaining how forensics stuff work. Trucy: Posts her magic acts on her channel and has some videos teaching people how to do some more basic tricks to try to get people more interested in magic. Generally good vibes
Edgeworth: Does not have a youtube channel but is a frequent guest on Maya's channel. The fans love him. Kay: Makes clickbait videos called stuff like "BREAKING INTO THE CHIEF PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE!!!!" and has millions of subs. Was notorious during the prank era of youtube despite never doing anything harmful. Also has a gaming channel. Apollo: Only has a channel in name. Nothing is posted on it, but he is subbed to a lot of law-based content and an astrology channel. By nature of being Trucy's magic assistant, it goes without saying that he is in a lot of Trucy's videos. Klavier: Ran the official Gavinners youtube channel up until Turnabout Serenade happens. Afterwards made a new channel for his own music but has kept it very lowkey. Athena: Has a vlogging channel that she started when she was 14. She has a small but supportive fanbase of people who are rooting for her in her lawyer/psychology endeavors. In the DD and beyond era she makes more videos about law and psychology but never full out stops with the vlogs (those Khura'in videos must've been wild) Simon: Makes a channel after getting out of prison. It's low quality videos of Taka and nothing else. It goes viral and someone tries to get him "cancelled" by exposing his criminal history but it fails spectacularly Bonus: Once out of prison, Godot also makes a youtube channel, which is how to make every single Godot Blend. It's not popular but the people who come across them are concerned for his health

“deal with the devil” type of scenario where fem!reader summons a demon and tries to bargain with him for something really valuable (or many valuable things). the demon, looking to exploit her desperation and greed, agrees to give her what she has requested… if he gets to fuck her for 30 minutes. if she can last the whole 30 minutes without cumming she gets exactly what she asked for. but if she orgasms at any point she loses, and he drags her back down to hell with him to use her as his personal onahole for the rest of eternity. you can decide how it ends 👀

########################################
The demon floated 6 inches off the ground. Four arms held slightly away from its body, it looked like someone had taken a half-remembered person, stretched them out, made them somehow sharper, and hung a shattered black iron halo above their head. One part of him wasn't thin, or sharp: the oversized member hanging between his legs, flared at the tip with a knotted base.
His name is Simizel, Viscount of the Pit of Ashen Despair, Lord Commander of the Seventeenth Regiment of the Damned, Oracle of the Orb of Seven Tongues. You watched as Simizel leafed through the phonebook of a contract you'd taken out a significant loan to get a lawyer to draw up. If this went well, you'd have more money than God. If it went badly...
Well, that's not worth getting wound up on now.
The demon signed the paper, trailing a vivid green ink from the long talon on the end of his long finger before spiriting it away with a flick of his wrist.
"So." His voice had a strange quality, as though intoned by a whole chorus, speaking slightly out of sync with each other "A wager. I have 30 minutes in which to drive you over the edge of sexual ecstasy. If you fail to resist, I get your soul, to do with as I wish. Correct?"
You nodded "And if I win, I get those three wishes in the contract." That's what the bulk of that contract was. You aren't going to bet your soul only to get bilked on the delivery. Eternal youth and good health, infinite money without permanently destroying the world economy, and supernatural beauty without the inevitable horde of stalkers.
The demon's hand twitched, almost imperceptibly to the eye, but the effect was immediate and dramatic. You flew towards him, clothes burning off as your body was suspended above the ground
"I never lose" Simizel smiled, revealing a thousand needle-sharp teeth "So I'll take my time with you." A black rectangle hovered next to your head. Your phone. You watched as your hand unlocked the device and set a thirty minute timer. Simizel motioned and the phone floated away "Time's started. Now how do we start?"
He grabbed the sides of your throat, squeezing gently as he stared into your eyes. The breath caught in your throat as you met his gaze, utterly transfixed by him "I'll try not to break you. But I do have that effect on the weak of will."
One hand wrapped around your throat. Three more to caress your body. The long steel claws tracing razor thin cuts through your skin. Blood leaked from your fresh wounds as he drew on you, the cold air stinging you as it washed over you. One of his hands strayed low. The nail pulling from your skin just before slicing into the delicate skin around your crotch.
Fingers touched the soft flesh of your cunt. Gently pressing in as he rubbed you in small circles, focus drifting from your lips, to your clit, to the already wet hole. You bit your lip, the taste of iron filling your mouth as you drew blood. It didn't help.
Two fingers sank into you, the claws willed away by the demon's magic. He slid them in and out of your dripping hole so agonisingly slowly. You craned your neck to see the time, but the phone screen was dark.
Simizel's head drew close to yours as his fingers curled inside you, drawing a whine from you "Plenty of time, my dear. I'll make you feel so good, then you can be mine" again he pressed in against your g-spot, again you whimpered, trying to displace the building pleasure from your mind.
His thumb rolled over your clit, gently teasing your sensitive button, grinning wider as your eyes defocused, one drifting while the other stayed staring at him. The fingers pulled out of you, rising to your mouth where your obedient tongue licked your essence from them, mouth filling with your sticky sweet taste
"What do you think?" He hissed into your ear "Do I fuck your mouth first? Or go straight to the main course?"
Your jaw hung open. Tongue out as you looked at him, completely dumb but for your ragged panting. Your heart throbbed in your ears. The demon pushed you down, landing gently on his feet as your knees hit the hardwood flooring. His cock was flopped over your shoulder. You turned your head.
Your tongue ran the length of that unholy rod, tasting the soft skin as your hands cupped his balls. You buried your face in his sack, huffing the hot smoky musk clinging to them. Then you traced the thick tube on the underside, going until you reached the leaking tip before driving the tip of your tongue into the hole at the end, tasting the thick precum that dribbled from him.
His hand stroked your hair. You grabbed it and closed his fingers, making him grab a thick handful as you just about got his flare into your mouth. You pulled his wrist to get him to move your head, dragging you up and down his cock by your hair. The pain mixed beautifully with the feeling of his thick cock filling your throat. Your hand drifted South, resting in your clit. A voice in the back of your head told you not to, but you couldn't help but rub yourself as he used your hair as a handle to fuck himself with your throat. You moaned and gagged, slime and mucous slipping from your mouth as his precum slid down your throat.
He yanked you off him, checking the time momentarily before lifting you and pressing his drooling, throat-slick flare onto your cunt. Your hand was still rubbing your cunt as he pressed himself into you, two hands on your hips, two on your shoulders. You shuddered as he entered, eyes rolling back as your slick tongue hung from your mouth. The demon's long forked tongue slipped out of his mouth, wrapping around yours a moment before withdrawing to be replaced by two fingers being shoved down your throat.
He bounced you on his cock as you bounced yourself on it. Your fingers rubbed ever harder, ever faster as you felt him hit your limits, then surpass them with a grunt. Your body stretched, his cock forming a visible bulge on the outside of your belly. You looked at him, still sucking his fingers, your hand still on your clit "Pleash" you managed to say around his digits in your mouth.
"Do you want to cum?" The demon hissed
You nodded
"Use your words, slut"
"Yesh" you slurred
He slapped your ass, sending a whine careening from your mouth "Yes what, slut?"
"Yesh, shir"
"Good enough"
The demon cock buried itself in you, the knot swelling at the base, locking you to him. Simizel's hands worked in a flurry, sealing the thin cuts he made in your flesh before. Every cut that healed intensified your sensation. A building pressure inside you, a rising heat. Your cunt clenched and spasmed, your body writhing and your whines turning to screams of agonised release. You felt yourself cumming again and again, orgasms overlapping and making you sob. Your cunt couldn't take any more. It wanted so much more. You could feel yourself squeezing against the cum filling you, bulging out your womb.
Your belly started to stretch and deform. Your tits grew heavy and pendulous, leaking steady streams of creamy milk. Horns broke the skin of your head as your hair grew by a foot all at once.
"There you go. Now you look how you wanted to all along. You wanted to live forever? To be beautiful beyond the ken of mortals? To want for nothing ever again? I grant these wishes, and claim my bride"
Your eyes met his as you chased your ragged breath, brain still foggy and swimming. Two words fell from your lips
"I do"
