🖨️ Brother MFC-J1010DW Review: A Budget Printer That Actually Works? Let’s Talk!
Tumblr media
🌟 Intro Alright, let’s just say it—shopping for a printer is kind of the worst. 😩 You want something simple, compact, and not out here trying to ruin your day with connection issues or crazy ink costs.
That’s why I had to check out the Brother MFC-J1010DW. Under $100 for a wireless all-in-one printer? I figured there had to be a catch. But honestly? It surprised me—in a good way. Let’s dive in.
📦 What You’re Getting Here’s the basics:
Model: Brother MFC-J1010DW
Does: Print, copy, scan, and fax (yep, still faxes!)
Connections: Dual-band Wi-Fi, USB, and Wireless Direct
Screen: 1.8" color LCD—not fancy, but does the job
Mobile Printing: Works with AirPrint®, Mopria™, and Brother’s app
Speed: Up to 17 pages per minute (black), 9.5 ppm (color)
Tray: 150-sheet paper tray + manual feed slot

💖 Why I Actually Like It This thing is like that friend who just shows up, helps out, and doesn’t complain.
💸 Budget-Friendly
I mean, under $100? That’s wild for an all-in-one. Perfect for printing homework, shipping labels, or those random forms life throws at you.
📏 Small but Not Wimpy
It fits on my desk without hogging all the space. Still had room for my coffee and my general clutter.
📶 Wi-Fi That Actually Works
No “offline” errors. No weird connection dances. Just solid, reliable Wi-Fi. Finally!
📲 The App’s Not Trash
The Brother Mobile Connect app? Surprisingly smooth. I literally scanned something to my phone mid-lunch without missing a bite.
Basically, it does the everyday stuff without making it feel like a chore.
✨ Nice Extras ✅ Wireless Printing – From your phone, laptop, tablet—whatever 📱 Mobile-Friendly – Works great with Apple and Android 🖨️ Auto Duplex – Double-sided pages without manual flipping? Yes please 📥 Versatile Paper Handling – Envelopes, photo paper, even cardstock 📺 Simple Screen – Not huge, not touch, but it’s clear and easy to use
🛠️ Warranty + Support You get a 1-year limited warranty. Pretty standard. But Brother’s support? Actually good. You can call, chat, or even get help from the app. A bunch of folks said setup was a breeze because support walked them through it. Love that.
👥 What People Are Saying I did some digging, and here’s what most users are saying:
👍 Pros
Super quick setup—even for tech newbies
Prints look clean and sharp
Fits in small spaces
Pretty fast for a cheap printer
Wi-Fi is solid
👎 Cons
Ink can get pricey if you print a lot
Not made for heavy office use
Small screen (and no touchscreen, if that matters to you)
Still, most reviews? Pretty dang positive. It’s not trying to be fancy—it just works. And that’s rare in the budget printer world.
💸 So, Is It Worth It? If you’re running a print-heavy office, skip it. But for normal stuff—school projects, forms, scanned docs, even the occasional color print? Total win.
It’s cheap, it works, and it won’t drive you nuts. I’ll take that any day.
Final Thoughts The Brother MFC-J1010DW is one of those rare budget finds that doesn’t make you want to pull your hair out. It’s small, simple, and actually useful. Perfect for students, families, or anyone working from home who just needs a basic printer that won’t flake out.
Will it blow your mind? Nah. But it’ll definitely save your sanity. And that’s something. 😅
✅ Best For
Students
Home offices
Busy families
Anyone tired of yelling at their old printer
❌ Not Great For
Heavy-duty office printing
People who want a touchscreen or more bells and whistles

Dramatically Increase Your Focus By Using The Pomodoro Technique
A Pomodoro Tracker Printable is a fantastic way to keep on top of your productive study sessions.
The pomodoro technique is a time management focused method of studying. The technique uses a timer to break down tasks into smaller intervals separated by short breaks. There are 5 steps to this technique: 1. Write down your 3 priorities or big tasks to do 2. Break down the priorities into sub-tasks that you can achieve in 25 minutes 3. Set a 25 minute timer, write down the start time. 4. Work on that task until the timer rings. Write down the stop time. You can always continue a task into the next 25 minute study session. 5. Break time. Take a 3-5 minute break between each 25 min pomodoro session. Once you have completed 4 sessions in a row, you can take a longer break (25-30 minutes).
